(E2) General Elephanti Troop Movements (Invading Greenmanbry and Yelm)

The nations of Greenmanbry and Yelm have fallen into disorder. As a Middle East Stability coalition member, we feel it is necessary to stabilize the Middle East. As such, troops from the Sultanates of Arabia and Jordan will be sent into Greenmanbrian Arabia to establish order. Similar operations will occur in the Maldives and the Yemeni island of Socotra. Troops in Aqaba and the Elephanti facility in Teh Ninjian Eritrea were preparing to land in Socotra, and air superiority missions (fighters and attack craft), would deploy at dawn.

The first troops, mounted on camels, moved through the Arabian desert, stopping at small villages, warning them of the troops following, and asking for support. While Greenmanbry had ruled the area well, the collapse in public order had not been good for the region, and most agreed to help.

Fleet elements from the Lakshadweeps were entering Greenmanbrian waters, offering safety and order. While the military garrison seemed hostile there, it was not as large as they had orginally thought.

Agents had already entered Yelmish Argentina, and talked with local leaders. In exchange for a base in the Tierra del Fuego, the locals would become a semi-independent nation. However, the Yelmish fortress there must first be overtaken.

(ooc: I can give specifics about any or all of these if you need it, but I wont unless you ask. Socotra will be a real battle, but the rest will hopefully go fairly smoothly.)

The Norwegians saw the events unfolding, and decided that it was time to act. A message was sent to the Elephanti.

Dear sir(s),

The Norwegian government has for a long time wished to aquire some lands in Saudi Arabia, to allow for our people in Egypt to have more land to live in, due to the overcrowding in the cities. Therefore we would like to aquire the Tabuk province.

We are willing to offer you quite a bit for that piece of land. Among others, we are willing to offer $300B, fifteen free ships of any class at Laksevag Naval Shipyards (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=451402), and assisting you in taking over the remaining Greenmanbryian lands that you wish to aquire, free of charge. We are also willing to maintain a minimal military presence in Tabuk, should we get it.

We await you swift and hopefully positive response.

Southern Arabia
Not only was northern Arabia under Greenmanbry descending into disorder, but Teh Ninjian southern Arabia had now descended into disorder. Gangs and looters ruled the land. Several divisions, with full air support, were sent in.

Deal!

The Norwegian brigades moved swiftly from Egypt, via Jordan and into Tabuk. There were some resistance, but nothing that the M2030A1 Lion main battle tanks, M2027A2 Viking infantry fighting vehicles and M2035 Gramstad armored personell carriers couldn't deal with. Overhead, four F-16CJ Wild Weasels streaked by, firing AGM-88 HARMs at the SAM sites that tried to shoot down the many Norwegian planes coming across the narrow strait from Sinai.

A few Greenmanbryan tank tried to stop the advance, but 120mm shells from the ETC cannons on the Lions destroyed the tank before they could do any serious damage. As they reached the city of Haql, the soldiers disembarked and wandered carefully into the city, AG3s locked and loaded.

To their great surprise, the people cheered and saluted them as heroes. The mayor even came and handed the keys to the city to the Norwegian soldiers. They also said that the Greenmanbryan troops had left the city and out into the desert. Apparently they had no clue what was happening. This was going to be an easy conquest.

Tierra Del Fuego, Argentina

Rioting mobs now filled the streets of Ushuaia, the capital of Tierra Del Fuego. Local leaders, collaborating with the Elephantis, had spurred the masses into action. Several Yelmish leaders had been kidnapped and beaten, cars were torched, and stores were looted. Local police could barely defend their own stations, let alone restore order, and much of the military was sent in to quell the revolt.

They would be completely unprepared for the assault to come.

Southern Arabia
The Teh Ninjian government had managed to restore order, and most of the riots were put down. The infantry were sent orders to pull back immediately. Aircraft finished their missions, gathering valuable intelligence before withdrawing.

Northern Arabia
Public support for the Elephantis was higher than expected. As one of the planet's few Muslim nations, they recieved a great welcome. Most resistance came from those in positions of power. Policemen, local politicians, and military members were the backbone of the resistance, but these elements were scattered and unprepared.

While there were casualties, wounded were quickly transported to medical facilities, and dead were sent to Riyadh, where their personal wishes, filled out when they enlisted, and updated every year, would be carried out.

Advance troops invading from Jordan had already arrived in Tabuk, while Arabian troops were in Ha'il.

Socotra

This Yemeni island had been heavily fortified, and the military garrison was on the whole still loyal. Early reconnaissance had been undetected, so 10 B-2A Spirit bombers had been sent in. With a conventional weapons combination totalling over 72,000 pounds of bombs apiece, the defenses were smashed, and many lay dead. However, the first infantry assaults were defeated, and hundreds died establishing a beachead. Slowly, they pushed the Greenmanbrians back to the command center of the base. With several Tomahawk missiles from ships in the Gulf of Aden, the building was utterly destroyed, and the Elephanti flag was raised on the island.

Maldives

The Elephanti force found the Greenmanbrians busy fighting themselves. Loyalist Greenmanbrians were attacking those who decided the Greenmanbrian system was failed. The fleet came to a halt. They would stop anything from entering or leaving the islands, but they would not attack until one side triumphed. If they attacked now, they risked uniting the soldiers against them.
