Apocolypse in Bjornoya?

With the recent destruction of Mecca, the current state of Israel, and the outbreak of a seemingly invincible plague, a group of 10,000 elderly religious followers of various Christian denominations dressed in white robes and ascended Mt. Pyrious a few kilometers outside the Bjornoyan metropolis of Necropolis, awaiting the end of days.

The group consists of Christians of all denominations allowed within the nation of Bjornoya. Their leader, Bishop Cardinghan, proclaimed, "The recent acts of God against the followers of the false prophet Mohammed are clear signs that our savior will return soon to purge the world of these evil entities. Rejoice! The moon shall darken, and the seas will turn red with the blood of the unfaithful!"

The majority of the younger Bjornoyan population looks upon these people with a condescending pity. Bjornoyan Diest and High School Principal Danielle Janda stated, "I'm really glad this dogmatic movement has been dying out within our nation. Our society no longer relies on faith to acheive morality, we can deduce what is right and wrong, or better who is right or wrong, through logic and the glorious human spirit rather than relying upon the pretexts of these archaic and blind institutions. It is a shame these people were bred to believe such things."

The Bjornoyan Federal Government has released no address, other than the unofficial reaction of Fraugott Lucy Rand (she laughed heartily before returning to her duties) Scientific communities are pushing for the government to intervene on the basis that the crowd of people atop Mt. Pyrious will cause vast ecological harm to the region. No action or word has been taken or spoken by the Bjornoyan Patriarch yet.

Harry Sutton, leader of the Pagan Rite of Layarteb sat up in his bed, upon hearing the announcement from Bishop Cardinghan. "Christains." He scoffed. "What a waste of space." He turned off the television and proceeded to get dressed in his best suit. Layarteb was a nation dominated by a pagan influence, dating back to before Layarteb was independent. Catholicism was the next largest denomination but they were less than half the numbers of pagans. He would go in front of cameras that day and recite his usual, anti-Catholic rhetoric. "These Christains lack any touch of reality. They believe whenever a cloud forms the shape of a cross, whenever a murderer kills himself, or whenever someone donates a large sum of money that it is the work of their Lord. They fail to see the fact that these happenings are the work of no god nor messiah. They are the work of men, men who are evil, men who must be punished and destroyed." He was a fiery speaker, very charismatic, and he led the entire Pagan Rite of Layarteb, the largest, religious organization in the country.

As we can see the evil religion that calls itself "Christianity" is trying to scare people into converting to their "religion" in order to exploit them for more money. The only true path is the Worship of the State, and the most Divine Incaration of the State is that which is the Republic.

Ah... Republic... So holy a thing... Such glorious divine power... And it shall crush the evil religions of the world and bring all into the Worship of the State, the only Divine Force in the Universe.

Atop Mt. Pyrious, Bishop Cardinghan preached to the crowd of mostly old men, raised before the Federalist Revolution. He spoke,

"Followers of our beloved Lord Jesus Christ, the time has come! No longer will we have to tolerate the Muslims who corrupted our faith! No longer will the Jews who crucified our savior go unpunished! No longer will the pagans and communists that surround us intimidate, supress, and unrightfully persecute us! We have been patient, we have been steadfast in our faith. Soon, our Lord will return to avenge the crimes humanity has put us through!"

A helicopter filmed the scene, broadcasting from above. The camera was closed on the Bishops face. As the sermon reached its climax, he raised his hands in the air, and his sleeves slid down.

"Amen, praise the Lord!"

But the crowd said nothing, they just stared, disgusted. Crawling among the bishop's lower arm and armpit were black and blue lumps, that the camera could see growing. The Bishop looked at the crowd, annoyed,

"I said Praise the LORD!"

The capilaries on his face turned black. Suddenly, every major vein and artery within his body withered and burst. Blackened blood gushed from his mouth and body. The witnesses screamed. Some tried to run, but the disease was in its prime. Neo-Y. pestis, laid dormant within the Bishop for over a week, staying with him since his luxurious vacation to Elephanti India. As soon as it was introduced to a slightly lower temperature, and lower atmospheric conditions, it spread like a supernova, engulfing everything and everyone in its path. The morning dew helped the disease spread rapidly throughout the crowd. The helicopter camera backed up, getting some unheard orders from Visara Co. For three and a half minutes the helicopter took footage flying away from Mt. Pyrious. Then, several streaks of flames, and the top of Mt. Pyrious was engulfed in fire. The Bjornoyan Federal Airforce kept up airstrike for the next half an hour, burning the air and scalding the earth so nothing, primarily the Neo-Y. pestis survived.

The TV broadcast was cut as soon as the camera could see the buboes, but the city of Necropolis could see the results, and word of the incident spread.

"Dead City" is such a sadistic name for a town.

"Dead City" is such a sadistic name for a town.

OOC: It will be the center of many a disaster within Bjornoya. It's the retirement home of Bjornoya, and will be my anti-thesis to Lord of the Flies
