Upsilon Andromedae System

near the second planet of the UA System, the Amada dropped out of Hyperspace, with their Anti-FTLIs on. The Amada's Commander, Warmaster Tarkaan'sith Mal'kaan, watched the planet below. "land the Troops into the Main city," he ordered, "Take it and destroy all in your Path."

The Troop Ships soon headed for the planet, with Fights around them and in front of them head off to bomb the Planet.

The Invasion of Upsilon Andromedae II had started.

OOC: BLOODY HELL! There's no such thing as Anti-FTLi either! That would undermine the whole point of a defensive grid. It's a device which forces an armada to actually deal with the navy, just like FTL itself is a device to make sure fleets actually get to the battle before it's over.

See, there's a reason all those FTL devices that you see in games and movies have flaws which forces everyone to actually encounter and fight one-another.

And another thing - My home system was 'Planet X'... Hands up everyone who saw that one coming. *raises hand*

IC: Sadly, there was no such thing as FTLi, and the armada found itself kicked back to the very outskirts of the system, where they found that they actually had to fight their way to the homeworld.

Of course, this little excursion was to be met with every last amount of force that could be mustered, this being the one and only system owned by the Hakurabi. (The colony was granted independence once the 'child species' that the colony was overseeing achieved space flight)

The devastating Big Bertha cannon lobbed anti-matter slug after slug as the two fleets closed to engaging range, with the fragile transports being slagged into vapor left right and center, until they learned to stay behind the fleet.

Nearly a hundred battlecruisers comprised the first defensive wave, moving with their broadsides to the enemy fleet. Among them were a full twenty of the elite battlecruisers, all of them well and truly capable to destroying large numbers of death stars on their own.

Their armaments could be summarised into three seperate groups, based on their primary chosen weapon's function.
- There were those who used streaming weapons, such as the Millenium, firing powerful concentrated particle and energy beams over long periods of time, comprising a total of 10 of them.
- The Missile Arrays, employing large numbers of heavy seeking anti-matter missiles, totalling 6.
- And the Heavy cannon users, which used Big Bertha-esque cannons to propel massive anti-matter parcels into unwary ships.

Among the battlecruisers there were literally hundreds of little Faith class vessels, their cannons primed to swat back any fighters, missiles, and irritating little transports which came their way. In front was a veritable wall of energy, with around eighty shield cruisers forming a defensive line and projecting their signature energy fields.

Behind them were several Carriers, each berthing a thousand Timberwolf class fighters.

Strangely enough, the fleet had appeared to multiply for the oncoming threat.

This ended now. If the Cassiopeians could be routed, their entire navy would be decimated and their end would be near, as a counterattack would prove fatal to such an exhausted war machine. (OOC: You've used so many ships you have literally used the resources of a galaxy... Not to mention you're using an obscenely large amount against me.)

The assembled fleet addressed the Cassiopeians. "Attention Cassiopeian Armada, We warn you not to proceed, as this course of action will lead to the loss of many lives, and is strongly cautioned against. Obviously you will ignore us, and therefore you cannot be allowed to proceed. We await your response. Message ends."

The multitude of sensor vessels in the rear of the formation swept the Cassiopeian fleet and the largest vessels were identified, as well as the logistical vessels (You DID remember to bring them, right?).
Axis Nova
02-11-2005, 08:32
In the space near the Hakurabi homeworld, a spark appears in space. It rapidly expands exponentially, forming a gigantic blue, swirling tunnel.

Unfortunately for Hakurabi, gravity wells have no effect on FTLi... a fact demonstrated as ship after ship after ship of Axis Nova flies out of the jump point. In less than two minutes, a gigantic fleet (perhaps not as gigantic as Casseopiea Galaxy's, but still pretty big considering the time Axis Nova had to work with), with a fully deployed set of escorts (including the entire Destroy MP corps) is fully deployed, and ready to attack. As the jump point closes, additional ships can be seen hovering within: obviously transports and some further escorts, all waiting for the defenses to be suppressed so they can be landed. Several truely gigantic shapes that look like missiles... but much LARGER, are seen as well.

OOC: I'm perfectly fine with you gating in, Axis Nova, so long as you don't try to bugger off during a barrage. From what I've read of your version, if you try to gate out under fire you're just asking for trouble. But at least drop them in at some distance (I hope you meant that...) so I can actually use my navy to stop them.

The main irk I have with Hataria/Cassiopeia is that if I let them, they'll jump right into orbit and dodge my navy entirely.

OOC: Gating out would kind of be counterintuitive since I'm here to help reduce your defenses, after all. I'll only leave if things go sour.

Also in B5 gating out under fire isn't a problem as long as your jump engines arn't hit or as long as the enemy isn't Shadow ships with mysterious elder race capabilities who can disrupt the jump point. (or as long as some retard doesn't fly through your open gate and open a jump point in it).

I'll start an OOC thread for this thread btw.

OOC: Number 1: I made a Anti-FTLi, it makes sure that the Amada can get though the FTLi Field (I read SciFi Books :P)

Number 2: You Destroyed my first Homeworld, I am going to Destroy yours, along with your race.

Number 3: I hope you like a superlaser :)

IC: The Amada may have been pushed, but it pushed back, as the Eclispe SSD soon gone though the FTLi Field, not useing its Anti-FTLi, (Sub Light works wonders.) and gone into Hyperspace on the other side of the FTLi Field (OOC: Don't say this is a Godmod, it an't) it was a Short Jump to UA I, the Main Home world of Harukabi, the ESSD had it's Superlaser Powered up and ready to Fire. The Warmaster looked at the Planet. "Fire at will." he ordered.

The Ship soon fired on the planet, with The Superlaser

Back with the Fleet, Ships were being Damaged from left to right, but they would not let the Robots (As the Cassiopeians call them) to bet them. "Oh Haruka-Bakas," one of the Captians of the ships said, "I hope you like to be Jammed!" and the Fleet soon used a Jamming Signal on the enemy fleet.

The Fighters were soon heading down with the Troop Carriers, the Fighters headed for the enemy Superweapon, to destroy it.

The lagging war with the CIN had only served to futher strengthen the already formidible navy of Beta Aurigae. Not ones to be caught sitting on their hands, the entire planet had been working over time for weeks and had almost returned the improved version of the navy back to full strength. Word soon arrived that the CIN had just attepmted another foolish offensive, this time against the Hakurabi.

Looking sadly at the report, Grand Admiral Larcat gave the order to move the fleet in. "Send in Fleets One through Three behind the Cassiopeans. We'll catch them between ourselves and the Hakurabi cutting off their escape. I will command the armada. Have the other fleets on stand-by awaiting orders and send word to planetary defense to warm up the shield generators and put orbital defense on alert, we don't want to get caught in a suprise counter attack."

25 Minutes Later...

The Admiral was standing on the bridge of the Sabertooth as the fleets formed up around them.

"All ships report ready Admiral."

"Ok, let's go give the Cassiopeans something to worry about."

The Aurigean armada jumped into hyperspace on their way towards the Cassiopeans but most importantly to the aid of the Hakurabi.

OOC: The three fleets I'm sending consist of 254 ships each, so for those of you who don't want to use a caculator that's 762 total large ships. Those ships carry a total of 17,450 fighters. I will also be sending in 133 auxiliary vessels. I'm not posting specific numbers because in reality, you wouldn't know until my fleets were approaching the system or already there.

And at the very edge of the system, they came. Four of them to be exact, accompanied by a veritable cloud of smaller vessels, though these vessels actually bore the greater chunk of the combined fleet's firepower.

The Godulan Heighliners, eighty kilometer long hulks of concrete and steel, began disgorging their cargo as soon as they came in system.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

It was important to note that the Cassiopeian plans for this theatre had not gone wholly undiscerned. Due to the colossal number of retreat and return moves pulled over Coredia, the Godulans had found it surprisingly easy to get a bead on their home sectors, and had placed a small number of Kython Doomgazers to keep track of enemy fleet movements.

This, combined with the fact that the recent hostilities, which had proven to be very favorable for the Godulan war machine, meant that two Godulan Battlefleets and two Kython BattleSwarms were very much ready to jump into action as soon as a move was made.

The suspicion was there, of course, reports had shown that the Cassiopeians were itching for revenge after Hakurabi had annihilated their homeworld. And so the Hakurabian home system was one of only a few that were programmed into hard probability jump mode.

The new Heighliners, these out of Ptolemy, added to the overall fleet strength with refreshed supplies of their Onslaught Cargos.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

As clouds of black dots engulfed the Heighliners, the fleets gathered up their targeting information and collaborated with the rest of the fleet on what was to die first. This engagement would see the first use of the new HellKites. But first, the initial strike needed to be made.

The Heighliners eventually managed to disgorge their entire cargo, and began gathering targets themselves...

Secret IC:Thandaria, Near the Center of the Milky Way Galaxy

the Death Star was ready for testing. it was still being built, but the Superlaser was Operational. Cas'rai Gon'dor'i was there to see it, along with Darth Imperia her self, via Holoprojecter. "Fire on that Moon." Cas'rai ordered.

On the death star, The Superlaser was Charged up and ready. "Fire." The Commader. the Superlaser was fired, blasting at the fourth Moon of the Planet below.

The Moon was destroyed in a second.

"At last," Imperia said, "The Grand Alliance will be destroyed." Cas'rai bowed to the Dark Lady of the Sith "The Fools on Earth thought they has killed you, and yet you lived." she said.

"That is why they need DNA Scaners," Imperia said, "Then they could tell if it was a Clone, or the real one." The Dark lady soon laughed. "Crimaera will oversee the plan as we talked about." Cas'rai bowed again.

It was such an obvious attack that the Cassiopeia Galaxy could have won the war without firing a single shot...if the High Command died laughing.

"Fools. They have overplayed their hand. Now they will pay the price." Patriarch Masaki chuckled as he saw the latest holonews and war reports from the front. He keyed in a comm. "Daniel. Are you ready?"

"Yes, Grandfather. I am." I replied, aboard the Chimaera, the flagship that would be used for this theatre. The military-industrial complex of Coredia has been working hard on developing and testing new weapons to use. Some salvaged from earlier warfronts. And now, they would be deployed against the CIN. "Admiral. Take the fleet out."

A good number of the fleet, formed up in a wall formation, was ready to engage and defeat the Cassiopeians. And now...Admiral Paelleon ordered the fleet to hyperspace for the Hakurabian capital...

Thandaria

"The Plan goes as Planned." Cas'rai said to Chimaera, "The GA would take the bait soon." "You better hope so," said Chimaera, "or Imperia-sama will have your head." The General Looked away for a bit and turned back to Cas'rai. "Imperia doesn't like to wait, Start Operation: Draw in NOW!" and the Holoprojecter turned off.

somewhere Near Saturn

"Cas'rai will do as she is ordered," Imperia said though the Holoprojecter, "she isn't one to try to ignore a order from Me, without paying the price." Of course, your ladyship." Chimaera said, bowing to Imperia, "We are about to exit the enemy FTLi Field and head for Thandaria now."

"Do it.." Imperia said, "and don't fail me." as the Holoprojecter turned off, Chimaera turned to the Captian of The Victory Class Star destroyer Star Killer. "Jump into Hyperspace now." she ordered.

The Small Fleet was ready, from out of Saturn's Clouds the Hatarian Starfleet,
23 Victory Class SDs and 10 Imperial SDs. The Fleet soon Jumped out of sight and into Hyperspace.

OOC: Anti-FLTi I will STILL not accept, as accepting it would involve whipping up an even more godmodish 'Anti-FTLi Disruptor' or something ludicrous like that.

Mind you, with the homeworld incident I may point out that the 'beam in the whole fleet' strategy was NOT the best option...

And stop it with the clones. It's a cheap exit. That, or at least make the clones a lot less powerful than the real thing. I mean, at least designate the clones during a battle...

I suppose no real losses will occur until everybody shows up and all the manevering starts.

IC:
The short skirmish resulted in the routing of the Cassiopeian forces, though the maneuver was more of a retreat than a definite loss. Then they picked up the massive amounts of energy liberated in the destruction of the Thandrian Moon.

The Jamming signal was overcome in a somewhat archaic way, though undeniably effective. The fleet was soon a twinkling cluster of lights as a less obvious method of overcoming the Jammers was developed.

Most of the assembled fleet moved to take the offensive and pursue the fleet, but the retreat would be an obvious ambush. Instead, the collected navy decided to repel the Combined forces whilst a small contingent traced the huge explosion to its source.

The twenty elite battlecruisers departed with a small group of logistical freighters, a number of Faith point defense frigates, and a few of the Sensor vessels. Around them was a team of Shield Cruisers projecting a sphere of energy around them.

--Archonal Command Ship Apocalyptus

"Targeting solutions acquired, General."

"Excellent. Initiate Onslaught. Be ready with the destabilizer. I want that whirlygig up and running as soon as our battlefleets jump in." Arcturus toggled another comms button, initiating a psionic transmission to every vessel in the fleet.

"Pick your entry vectors now, as soon as Onslaught is over, you jump in and destroy everything in sight. The Heighliners will jump in with you, and Apocalyptus will move into the FTLi field and destabilize it to prevent the Cassiopeians from breaking free. They all die here today, folks."

As soon as he completed his statement, the colossal Heighliners unleashed their own brand of death and destruction upon the Cassiopeian and Axis Novan fleets. One instant, there was simply the four fleets over the planet, the Cassiopeians and Axis Novans on one side, and the Hakurabians and Aurigans on the other.

The next instant, the Cassiopeian and Axis Novan fleets were fully engulfed in veritable clouds of zooming and whizzing black orbs surging throughout their respective fleets and opening fire with the Godulan Fractal Guns. Shaped charge versions of the normal Flux Cannons, the Fractal Guns promised more precision and more destruction in their attacks. Each drone packing a cannon equal to a Mako Star Destroyer's primary cannons, they darted between and betwixt the enemy vessels, focusing fire as needed and as opportunity presented. Many thousands of these little hellions drifted amidst the enemy fleets.

Although, something more... amusing presented itself to the Axis Novans. The Godulans never forgot the annoying nature of the Destroy units brought forth by the Axis Novan forces during the battle of Coredia, and the Godulans were quick to find a remedy.

The number of Fractal Drones was somewhat less than that plaguing the Cassiopeian fleet, but this discrepancy was repaid in spades by the presence of what appeared to be one hundred draconian mechanoids, roaring through the Axis Novan fleet like the purity of destruction they were. Godulan Sentinels, in their first combat test. As they drifted through the fleet, they breathed beams of Fractal Energy close in power to axial lasers. Maybe not quite fue to a precise control keeping its firepower just under the limit for the voidshields, but if an enemy vessel was struck by one, they would most DEFINITELY notice the strike.

And then, as if to punctuate the whole issue, the Godulan Battlefleets followed, surging into existence and turning all guns to annihilate the enemy where they rested, rather literally clogging up the entire sector with vessels and cannonfire. Accompanying these vessels were swarms of Kython Slaughterkings and Slaymasters, thousands of new Godulan HellKites (fully twice the size of a Starbolt and packing MUCH more firepower), and otherwise just the epitome of a shock and awe strike.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Heighliners began making one last calculation process, and the Apocalyptus and its escorts moved forward, about a quarter of the distance into the system, and came to rest behind one of the system's outer planets.

As soon as the iteration was completed, a strange ripple coursed through the entirety of the area engulfed by Hakurabi's FTLinhibition field.

"Destabilizer active, General."

"Perfect."

The effect of this strange device would be difficult to discern, until one attempted to use anti-FTLi mechanisms or any form of precise inhibitor control. The Godulans could jump in, but there was no way they would get out now, which only made them attack all the more ferociously. And not even the Hatarian's newly placed technology would save them this day...

The Hatarian Starfleet soon dropped out of Hyperspace, Near the Cassiopeian Base. "Prepeare my fighter," Chimaera ordered, "I will go to the Death Star."

a Few minutes later, she was in her Starfighter, a TIE Slayer, heading into the Death Star's hanger bay, one of many on the Battle Station. as soon as it landed, Battle Droids and Clone Troopers marched to the fighter and standed in atteneion as Chimaera got out. Cas'rai walked over to the General of The CIN Forces on Earth. "General Chimaera, what a Surprise..." She said, but was cut off by Chimaera, "Don't talk nicey-nice on me, Warmistress, I am hear to get you prepeared for the battle" Chimaera said, "Have you sent your...Agent to Earth?" "Yes, General," Cas'rai said, "She will tell the Jedi where the........Gift is heading."

OOC: We'll debate this one out in the OOC thread. Let's stop cluttering the IC thread. I could whip up some pseudoscience that lets my FTLi beat your so-called Anti-FTLi but that would be pointless.

But how I read it you did retreat, if not routed entirely. Since the FTLi field extends over the entire system and the fleet in your way, I took it that you pulled out of the system. No other course of action would have been possible.

Mind you, the siege gun needs to be destroyed BEFORE you can fire the superlaser, because it packs enough punch to annihilate anything that tries to destroy the planet before it can actually fire. See, you need to actually get past the fleet tracking you before you can do damage to my defensive stations and siege gun.

Say, even if DNA scanners could tell, wouldn't you need a blood sample from both the real Imperia and the clone?

IC:
The Grand Alliance forces were hailed first by planetary command, exchanging the basic formalities, such as identification and encryption key swapping.

For the Godular fleet, an extra message was sent by the fleet, following the formalities. "Right, we can understand you trying to get in quickly, but could you at least give us a heads up before disrupting the FTL Interdictor? Oww..."

The planets, whilst themselves already heavily shielded, were also surrounded with Shield Cruisers, projecting what seemed to be the only shields around the planet and masking the more powerful porcupine of shielding and weaponry on the planet's surface. No dwellings were immediately visible, though given the opportunity for geologists to test, a sprawling underground complex could be seen far below the surface.

Two Hakurabi technicians came running to the landing zone, holding powerful handheld devices. They looked like short sections of tubing with a truncated cone on one end, and a small glass object in the middle of the cone and a glass plate on the front of it. It could emit electromagnetic energy between 380 to 740 nanometres wavelength at variable strength. It can project a full 75 lm at maximum strength, and is totally immune to any sort of shielding.

(OOC: A cookie to anyone who figures out just how dangerous this 'device' is.)

They stood among the crowd of Coredian soldiers.

Capricious as the inhuman Masters that they worshipped; the Chronosian's waited. So long had passed; the battles of Coredia seemed distant memories, next to the fresh, yawning wound of Remiel's death at the hands of accursed Masaki. The Crusade of Dire Retribution had been launched nearly ten weeks to the day of Remiel's demise; and had found its way back towards the old, worn paths of the galaxy; a slow advance upon those who had once been friend and foe of the Imperium....

A smile crossed Turel's scarred features; his tarnished armor dull against the metal of his throne; wrought iron, as he gazed out across space. He could be patient; he could fulfill his duties; shrieve his soul; undo his terrible penance. He sighed softly, gazing out at the blazing orbs of stars; the shining diamonds picked out in the night sky; illuminating the limitless void of the Materium. The warm embrace of the Warp called to him; and, now onboard his vast Fortress Monastary-Battlecruiser, the Baleful Benediction He rallied his men and the fleet.

The Crusade must continue onwards....

Of course, the commandos had neglected to eliminate the surviving specialists (I'm assuming the Heavy weapons and Secondary gunner were killed in the fight, as well as the clone and the rest of the commandos.), who were carefully stalking them from various distances.

The technicians turned on their lights, strong enough to help illuminate during daylight, and fiddled about with their controls to sweep the ship in different colours of light. Then they moved over to Guri and checked for any signs of explosives or other booby traps. They would want to remove those first, because even if their armour could survive it, the droid obviously wouldn't.

"Sir, we have four Hatarians outside of the base asking for surrender. They appear to be survivors from that failed infilitration they did two days ago." The General reported to the Patriarch.

"I see." Alexander sipped his tea. "Have the Hakurabians take them into custody. And be sure they have their Force-inhibitors online just in case. I will wish to interrogate them soon."

"Very good, Captain Hawkeye. You will go with the Jedi Alchemist and find this Tuni Banbanian person. See what he or she knows about the secret military project." Alexander casually tapped his fingers against each other. "Commander Masaki may need to know about it when he returns."

"Yes, sir." She saluted and walked away to search for Jacob Masaki.

Later still, they took a ship and made the jump to hyperspace.

Meanwhile, the Chimaera battlefleet reverted to realspace at the battlefield at Upsilon Andromedae and began opening fire upon the enemy Cassiopeians. Fleets of fighters, gunships and corvettes threw themselves at the enemy while the larger Star Destroyers, Cruisers, battleships and other ships blasted away at anything that wasn't a friendly craft. "Unless you feel the need to lose a limb you are required to comply." They didn't normally do the robotic drone routine but if the Cassiopeians thought that they were a bit dense then all the better for them.

It was obvious that they could not possibly use any weapons, but to be sure the two snipers came down behind the group. After making a quick scan and confiscating any weapons they still owned, the specialists used their blades to quickly cauterise the worst wounds of the survivors, in lieu of actual medical supplies.

The captain then gestured for the survivors to follow him and proceeded to the nearest Coredian military base.

Just after the Aurigean Fleet reverted to realspace...

Upon entering the system, the Admiral saw a reeling Cassiopean fleet heading their way.

"Now we strike the decapitating blow," breathed Larcat as he turned to his first officer. "Deploy the fleets Commander. Send Two and Three out to the wing and have them launch their fighters. We'll take the center and keep them from breaking away." Then turing to his weapons officer, he gave the order. "Target all weapons on the enemy fleet and fire at will." As he spoke, the once empty space between the two fleets was filled with green and blue bolts of energy as the Aurigeans laid into the now surrounded Cassiopean fleet. Superlaser blasts reached out at the enemy capitol ships attempting to overload their void shields and open them for direct attack. Meanwhile, fighters spewed from the second and third fleets engaging in vicious dogfights with enemy squadrons and launching every thing they could muster into the larger enemy vessels.

Looking at the sceen before him with grim satisfaction, Larcat turned towards his sensor crews, "Monitor out of system traffic very closely, I don't want any unexpected guests until we've clean out the Cassiopean riffraff." Then turning to his communications officer he said, "Send word to the Fouth and Fifth fleets, I want them waiting out of the system as extra insurance in case another enemy fleet shows up."

The transmission was sent and recieved by Aurigean Defense Headquarters and forwarded to the two fleets. They set of at once toward the Hakurabi Homeworld where they would lay cloaked out of system to take out any unknowing enemy fleets that tried to attack their bretheren from behind.

The message was recieved and replied to with a simple 'Acknowledged'.

As the Aurigae and Coredian fleets opened fire, the fleet began firing their swarm of anti-matter torpedoes, the fighters already skirmishing with the Cassiopeian and Axis Nova fighters. The plasma cannons had opened fire earlier, creating a stream of bright orange energy.

The torpedo fire was regulated so as to create a constant shower of the deadly weapons, and almost fifty freighters and transports were scurrying between the fleet and the planet laden with replacement missiles and torpedoes.

Some of the fighters had already returned to their carriers to rearm their missile payloads which made them that much more effective than the Cassiopeian fighters.

Meanwhilst, as the combined Cassiopeian and Axis Novan fleets found themselves under withering allied fire from the Coredian, Hakurabi, Aurigan fleets, as well as the colossal Godulan Battlefleet that sat directly in the enemy's midst pounding away at anything and everything that didn't read as friendly, a strange thing was noted:

The Godulan Mako Star Destroyers, the Hellkites, and even the Fractal Drones were beginning to give the Cassiopeian flagships a wide berth...

Huh. An unsual move. They're planning something... Admiral Pellaeon noted as he saw the Godulans make a move. The fleet hasn't yet begun to engage the flagships en masse though so they're ok. Just in case... "Have fleet elements increase their distance to the enemy flagships."

"Aye." Came the reply, and the fleet shifted slightly to allow the Godulans to do what they need to do.

If it carries torpedoes, it's a bomber. Especially when it can attack a massive space station.

IC:
The Hakurabi forces would have given the fleet a wider berth, but the Cassiopeians were advancing, and such a maneuver was simply not possible. Instead, they just requested that they be given a heads up to divert extra power to shielding.

The Big Bertha was alone respectably shielded, and was equipped with a fighter complement of one thousand to defend it, along with a few Faith Point Defence Frigates. The high speed Timberwolf Fighters were far faster than the bomb-laden TIE slayers, and divided into three squadrons, just as the Cassiopeians were. Bertha Squadrons Alpha, Beta and Gamma respectively engaged the larger force of Cassiopeian Bombers, a flurry of plasma missiles hailing down on their respective targets.

At about that time, it came.

From the edge of the system, one of the Heighliners winked out... then materialized approximately seven thousand kilometers away from the underside of one of the Cassiopeian's Bellerophons, coming in hard and fast, accelerating, and altering course to match the SSD's movements as it roared in for a full bodied ram.
