Naomi Roderica officially won the presidential Election on 9'o'clock October 31st, 2005. She won over her opponent, Louise Tavernier, with only a few thousand votes. Though certainly disappointed, Louise was quoted as saying "Theres always another four years..." when she found out the news.
Roderica plans to immediately begin building up her administration, and is expected to choose a Vice-presidential candidate within the week. Though a dual person ticket system was planned, the rush to the first democratic elections in THL was chaotic and the candidates did not have time to elect a person to run with them(It should be noted, how ever, that the next elections promise to be far more organized.). Currently, Roderica will be operating out of the old Royal Palace until the construction of the presidential head quarters is completed. Upon her being sworn in, Roderica is quoted as saying:
"I promise to protect my fellow lesbians(this is referring to nationally, not people sharing the same sexual preference. Lesbians was the only nationality that made real sense.) Through what ever means necessary...Far to many nations take us as a joke...a novelty in the world. A nation full of lesbians(this time, she is referring to homosexuals, not nationality.), they may think. They may laugh at the thought, and think we're not capable of acting as any other sovereign nation. But I will make sure THL's voice is heard. I will make sure we're taken seriously."
