The True Council of the Alterans of Atlantis wish to seek out allies to aid us in our goal of further exploration and understanding of the universe we inhabit. For many thousands of years, we have been unsurpassed in terms of the sheer volumes of knowledge we posess, and we know that most of it (including our data on ascension) is still unknown to the vast majority of races. We hope that one day, the people of this galaxy will mature enough to be able to handle that knowledge.

In order to make this maturity possible, we wish to make strong diplomatic ties with one sovereign state in the galaxy, a state of a similar size, sot hat we can have a mutually beneficial closeness.

You are acting arrogant. If you expect to survive and not have everyone declare war on you, you need to learn tact. We originating from the Altera star system express no current desire to 'ascend'. Their is much to be said for learning things the hard way. I believe it was best put by the quote "with great power comes great responsibility." Oma Desala was correct when she only offered ascension to those on their death beds. That has been the way of things for thousands of years, we have no intention of changing them. Only the honorable may ascend to Khev, the rest must prove themselves in Limbo before they can ascend, otherwise they are stuck their. Oma Desala has proven a wise judge in these matters.

Oma Desala is a great individual. She is brave, daring, and compasionate. She only ascends those that are ready. Ascension should only be obtained by people of their own powers. If you promise ascension to those that follow your lead, you become no better than the Ori.

As for scavenging technology, we are not Goa'uld. Though we now control what was once theirs, we did not adopt the Goa'uld ways. This is a scientific nation, we develop our own technology.

This way of life has suited us for thousands of years. We have brought peace to the areas under our control. We do not force ourselves upon others. We have never fired the first shot in any battle. When the homeworld was attacked 8,631-years-ago, we fought back. We defended ourselves and drove the invaders from Altera.

As for the prototype capital city ship, its own records say it was built prior to any ascensions. It only activated when I, the Holy Emperor, set foot in the Gate Room myself. We only found it when we were ready for the wonders the city contains.

You, who have had no interaction on this plane in ages, think you can just barge in and tell us we have been doing things wrong? Let me tell you something, life isn't fair. We have had to fight to survive. The universe is not full of peace loving nations. There are some monsters out there. Monsters that the people of Altera will face as a united front. You forget, it is we unascended Alterans who still control the homeworld.

Keep in mind before you make posts like that, others can use that tech, and that it didn't necessarily have to come from your source. (I personally found out about Zero Point Energy around five or so years before I ever heard of NS, and it's been my main power source from the start. (When I turned FT that is.)

There is great wisdom to your words, perhaps your people will soon be ready for Union. already, you seem to have some understanding of our ways.

If by "force ghost" you mean an individual's mental processes continuting to operate in the absense of a discrete physical body. yes, in a sense.

Union is joining of minds,and life forces, of many beings. just as any large group requires some beings to take a lesser role to remain functional. so must the link include less complex minds to remain stable, at first we thought it was merely telepathy on a massive scale, but it is clearly a deeper junction, as in time even plants and microorganisms, beings that do not posess minds in any conventional sense of the word, have became a part of our union, enriching it and improving our understanding of our world, and later, our galaxy.
the union is a thing many Isolates have trouble comprehending, each individual having acess to the knowlege of every other.
