I, Chairman Gary Girardi, representing the government of the Holy Empire of Saint Fedski am extremely pleased to announce a winner of the most prestigious award granted to a man or woman in uniform, serving his or her country in a time of battle while committing acts of extreme heroism.
The winner of the Silver Victoria Cross is Lieutenant Mike Giorgos of the Kahanistan Air Force for is successful raid on the military city of Al Bushra, in the Kingdom of Thorns.
While his flight of four MiG-29 aircraft and one MiG-31 aircraft flew in at tree top level, they encountered batteries upon batteries of anti-aircraft missiles and automatic AA cannons. Despite this heavy fire, they pressed home their attack on the Al Bushra military city destroying two hangers and severely damaging a third. In the process of this attack, four of the five aircraft were shot down. One pilot flew his crippled MiG-29 into one of the hangers. Two pilots were able to safely eject from their aircraft and are currently missing in action. May god show them the way home. After losing his four colleagues, Lieutenant Giorgos got one more pass in before being forced off by concentrated enemy fire. He returned back to Copacabana Air Station barely able to keep his severely damaged aircraft in the air. We congratulate Lieutenant Giorgos for his fearlessness, his heroism and his courage while flying a near-suicide mission against impossible odds and we express our deepest sympathy to him and the Democratic Soviet Republic of Kahanistan for the loss of the four young pilots.
