Finally, after 67 years of wrangling the Ankhmeti Senate has made a decision on a law which caused much trouble for Premier Weishaupt. The 'Total Equality Act' repeals the 93 year-old law which states:
All those exhibiting deviant sexualty, shall be taken by the government to any sanctioned place of execution, and hung by the neck until death by asphyxia or the breaking of the neck.
After signing the act, premier Weishaupt released a statement:
This Act of Government finally brings Ankhmet into the modern age. Although our nation has long been ahead of the world in terms of our nanotechnology and virological research, we have been behind for quite some time in terms of tolerance of other lifestyles and beliefs. The government is now thinking about removing the ban on religion instigated by the former leader, Commissar Sankh Horus. His reign ended 15 years ago, and we need to remove the last threads of his dictatorial rule.
The office of Premier Weishaupt has been strenuously denying slanderous comments about his sexuality made by the Ankhmeti tabloid press.
