OOC: This is my revolution thread, i want it to be big and meaty. A sort of a vague foreshadow of the events described here can be found in the "Trouble" (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=417856) thread there basically its revealed that not everything is fine back in the UCR. What might help you better get into the story is a little history lesson.

Brief History of the Pushkan People:

Pushkan people were the so called lost slavic tribe. Sometime in the 1 st century AD they were exiled by the other slavic tribes for the reasons still unknown although some historians speculate that the Pushkavites got too powerful and because of that became hated by all others.

After the exile there was a dark period stretching 7 centuries. All that is known is that the Pushkavite survivors have traveled to north-eastern Siberia and started a new settlement there. Thousands of them died on the way, the trail they once walked was found recently revealing frozen mass graves along their clear path east. The time of darkness is the time between the exile and the Letter of Great Kniaz Nikolai dated back to the 8th century AD. Absolutely no records were found about events of the time of darkness, and that in itself suggests that the time of darkness was a time of bloody warfare. After this period there was a boom of recorded historical accounts, including some of the most incredible historical evidience in history, this is of course in reference to the famous Danila Chronicles, the first ever recorded Pushkan History. The text dates back to 13th century AD, it was written by a monk Danila Nikitovich Androsov and tells the story of the period between the time just before the unification and the time the book was written. According to the text, that was backed up by numerous other sources found over the years, just before the unification there were 10 city states, Voronej, Bodino, Kolukino, Rim, Rem, Pishino, Valeria, Norilsk, Dubilka, and Igalka. Each one had its own kniaz and Voronej was the most powerful one of all. In 746 AD Kniaz Nikolai of Voronej has proclaimed hismelf the Great Kniaz, the Tsar and ruler of all Pushkiavites. He ordered his royal intellectual Alexandr Pechko to write a letter to all the other city-states explaining to them why they should unite under Nikolai. Only one page of the letter survived through the ages, simply put it spoke of an ultimatum, telling all the city states that they will either join the new nation peacefully or they will be forced to. According to Danila Chronicels, seven out of nine city states joined right away, two others resisted but were quickly defeated by pure blunt force of the other eight city-states now unified under one leader. The ones who resisted were Norilsk and Pishino they have united into Norilskaya Coalition. There was a series of battles but the fate of the Coalition was sealed at the battle of two eagles named so because the symbol of Pushkan Army at the time was a black two-headed eagle with outstretched wings while the symbol of the Norilskaya Coalition Army was the same image but of a brown color. After the defeat rebel kniazias Kiril and Oleg were executed and the Coalition joined the Tsardom. The recorded date of Pushka emerging as a nation is September 15th, 747 AD.

The young Tsardom had a lot more blood spilling coming its way. After the unification of the Pushkavites, Nikolai was looking to expand his empire, and so he did by stretching the borders east, west, south, and north. In the south Pushkans found a new enemy, the young Alikut Republic. The Republic was an oligarchy and was ruled by the tribal council of over 70 members. It was cotained mostly by the southern part of the Krasonyarkie Kray. The Tsardom and Republic collided. War lasted for 2 centuries. Nikolai was replaced by his son Yaroslav, who was replaced by his son Nikolai II, who was replaced by Leonid and so on and on it went until finally in 982 AD the Republic was destroyed and assimilated into the Tsardom. To celebrate his achievement Great Kniaz Nikolai V has proclaimed his nation an Empire and crowned himself the Tsar, the title previously reserved only by the Tsar Nikolai I The Unifier of the Pushkavites. And so the Pushkan Empire was born.

Tsar Nikolai V has also expanded his lands west. This expansion lead the Empire to come in contact with its closest western most neighbor, Empire of Cotland. The first contact was made in 996 AD and trading relation started to develop quickly, with the old Slavic tribes that offended the Pushkavites now gone there was no reason for turmoil. Along with foreign goods the trade has brought into Pushka bits and pieces of western culture. That eventually lead in 1132 to the Christianization of Pushka. Tsar Oleg III was the first person to be proclaimed a Saint by the newly born Pushkan Orthodox Church, Oleg was also its founder.

The next period was not filled with many events. The times were peaceful, trade was prosperous, there were several peasant rebellions that were quickly put down. The Danila Chronicles end with ascenssion to the emperial throne of the Tsar Kiril the VII.

After the Danila Chronicles there were other numerous pieces of information that clearly draw us a picture of the post-Danila time period, which begins at the end of 13th century and ends with the Industrialization in 1792. This period is unique in that the Tsars who were ruling during this time were strictly oppressionist tightening the grip of the upper class over the peasants a hundred fold since the creation of the empire. Peasants were assigned to their land and their movement was restricted, they were treated as slaves by the noble Boyar class and a life of a peasant was only worth the amount of rubles it took to purchase him. Life was miserable for the common man and their rage was building up through the generations.

In 1792 Tsar Oleg the III ordered mass ubranization of the peasant class and the industrialization of the whole nation. Basically every Boyar had to give up a certain amount of peasants who were then sent to the cities and put to work in the factories. This allowed a small middle class of the factory owners to rise in the cities. The peasants still had to work terrible hours for no monetary compensation and insufficient nutritional compensation.

All of this lead up to the single most important event of the Pushkan history, the Great Revolution of 1888. It was the most bloody war that ever happened to the nation. Over 20 million people became casualties as the Pushkan Worker Army battled the Royal Army of the Tsar. Tsar was defeated, his line was ended, he himself was killed. The new goverment that emerged was now lead by a communist regime. The war started on an october evening, 1888 then the underground Communist Party Leader Yeosif Karlov made a speech to the workers of the steel factory #76 to rise up against the Tsar. The fiery speech told to an audience of 50 factory workers began the march to the Kremlin. As the workers marched past other factories they were yelling out revolutionary lozungs and were joined by others. By the time the whole procession reached Kremlin it numbered over a thousand people. They stormed the gate and broke in, the few douzen Guards Tsar had in his palace were unable to provide any resistance. Tsar Nikolai the VII was found by the angry mob in his bed, he was dragged out and beaten, then killed by a pistol shot to the head, killer was a peasant, Valerie Vlasov. Tsar's family was killed the same night in the similar manner. This rebellion lead to the nation wide revolution. The Royal Army lead by Tsar's brother Tsarevich Alexander attempted to crush the revolution. Ten years and 20 million deaths later Alexander was captured at the battle of Kolkino. The communists took complete control. The communist party committee was created to run the reborn nation that was now called the Union of Communist Republics. Communist Party Committee elected a Prime Minister every 12 years who held 1/3 of the voting power in the committee. The Committee consisted of 300 members but eventually grew to over a thousand. This system is used to the present day. The history of UCR is a history of economic and military prosperity and of emperical ambition. New lands were conquered and bought, the borders of the Union stretched out over thousands of kilometers. Most recently the history went full circle with Cottish Republic containing most of the lands of the Slavic tribes that once exiled the Pushkavites now falling under the control of the Union.

Lately however rumors are flying around about a conspiracy that wants to reform the nation, but for now they are just rumors....

It was a windy night, not a single cloud in the sky, moon and the stars were gazing upon the earth their sight scanning across the surface, white snow reflecting their rays of deem light. Prime Minister Alexandr was looking out of the window of a 10 story building, apparently a luxurious hotel. He was sitting in a leather chair in a big room. His bodyguards were waiting outside the door, he himself was also waiting, his cellphone lying on a dark wood table right infront of him. Finally it rung.

"Comrade prime minister. Your guest has arrived."

The bodyguard's voice was clear and punctuated. Alexandr hung up and looked into a surveillance monitor on the right side of the table. He saw a cleanly shaved tall and skinny man in his 50s, handing his brown winter coat to the bodyguard in the hotel lobby. Five minutes later Alexandr heard a knocking on the door.

"Come in."

Alexandr said, his voice as cold as ice. The tall man walked in and set down across the table from Alexandr. Alexandr leaned towards his visitor offering a hand shake, gazing straight into the skinny man's eyes Alexandr began to talk.

"It is good to meet you Peter. Although i am rather concerned with your wish to meet me in this place."

Peter started to get defensive.

"You need not be. It is only for my protection. I shouldn't even be here! I am betraying eveything i believe in!"

Alexandr seemed unwaved by the outburst.

"Shall we get to business, is everything ready?"

"My men are ready, the operation begins tomorrow, i expect to receive my payment right now."

"Oh of course, of course. I presume that you will be leaving the country after this."

Peter didn't reply.

"Am i wrong?"

"It is non of your business, now there is the money!"

Peter became irritated, Alexandr ignored that.

"I assume you'd be going to Cotland, or Celtayoshi? Somethere else?"

Alexandr was staring right into Peters face. A short lived moment of tension was broken by Alexandr leaning down and picking up a black leather case from below his desk.

"Oh yes of course. The money. Here it is, 10 million rubles."

Peter took the case opened it, looked in and closed it, satisfied. He got up and as he was approaching the door threw the last glance over at Alexandr.

"I will call you then the operation starts, that will be our last contact, after that i will disappear."

Peter spoke calmly. He exited the door and took off into the night.

Pavel Rostov a Camera man with the PRT news channel was setting up his equipment inside the National Parliment Building in Voronej. Today was the day of another Communist Party Committee meeting. Pavel was bored, he knew nobody would watch what he was about to film.

"A bunch of old farts arguing about politics. Its pathetic. I could have signed up to be an anchor, but no....I had to do this instead. Damn me and damn the fat bastards in the studio that gave me this assignment."

Finally his equipment was set up, he set back into a tall chair behind his camera and unscrewed the water bottle. His job was now to make sure that nothing went wrong with the camera, in reality his job was to seat in one spot for 8 hours trying to not get a hammeroid. He proceeded to doing just that.

One of the old farts in the lower chamber of the building went up a 15 step stairs and on to a podeum. He took a wooden hammer and smacked it against the wooden surface of the podeum, other old farts became silent and set down in their chairs. Oleg Orlov a newsman with PRT news channel was providing "insightful" commentaries about what was going on.

"The man who just went up to the podeum is Vice-Prime Minister Kiril Popov, in the absense of the Prime Minister Alexandr Chorni, VPM Popov leads the committee meeting. Right now he will introduce today's first issue before the committee."

There was a moment of silence, Kiril Popov was looking for something in a stack of papers infront of him. Oleg continued.

"Ah, it looks as if the Vice-Prime Minister is looking for something. This might take some time, we will be back after these important messages. If something does happen during the commercials then we will replay it afterwards."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Meanwhile in the basement of the apartment building right across from the parliment something was going on. In a poorly lighted room about a hundred armed men were packed in, each one had an arm band with a swastika printed on it. Each man was cleanly shaved and the dominating majority of them were young, no older then 21. They were all standing in a closely packed group and looking at an older man in a dark-grey trenchcoat standing on a simple table opposite of them. Right behind him in the shadows was another man his face was covered with darkness, unlike everyone else in the room he did not have a swastika arm band. The man on the table started talking in a fiery, fanatic-like fashion.

"Hail the Pushkan Liberation Army!"

the crowd responded by raising their right hand upwards and yelling at the top of their lungs.

"Hail!"

"Today is a great day my brothers. Today we strike back at the communist pigs that were torturing our nation for over a hundred years! We shall have our revenge! You are the hands of God! For the Fatherland!"

"For the Fatherland!"

"Go now and furfill your destiny!"

All hell broke loose. The whole crowd turned into an angry mob. Each person had an AK-74 in his hands and a bag of explosives on his back. They ran out of the basement and charged outside, across the square, to the parliment.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

The two guards standing infront of the doors of the parliment opened suppressing fire from their AD-112s. Both of them were wearing full BU-1 armor and were ready to defend their position with their life. A first bullet bounced off the armor, it was followed by the second bullet and the third, the guards were not going down, meawhile their opponents were. Without any armor protection their were falling down on top of each other unable to do a thing. The guards had to stop in order to reload, the crowd advanced. Enemy shots became more frequent as both guards emptied their second catridges. While the guards were reloading a young man about 18 years of age dropped his rifle and ran towards the guards. He reached the parliment building stairs and ran up, the guards now just 10 meters away. One of the guards pulled out his pistol and shot the nazi in the head, a moment before the fanatic jumped, he met the bullet in the air, his breathless body landed a meter away from the man who killed him and then the explosion happened. The bomb strapped to the young man's back was set off by a remote control. Once the smoke cleared both guards were dead torn into pieces by the sheer strength of the explosives.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Back in the apartment building basement the two men were left alone. The guy who was hiding in the shadows stepped out and uncovered his face, it was Peter Kuzmich. He put his hand into his coat pocket and approached the Nazi leader who was still standing on the table.

"This is it for us Andrei."

The Nazi leader turned around looking confused.

"What do you mean? It is only the beggining, the fatherland will be ours soon."

Peter's voice became grim.

"You are a fool....this is there this ends, your ideals would never succeed in this nation."

"My ideals? They are your ideals also!"

"Not anymore."

Peter pulled out a pistol and aimted it at Andrei, who's eyes erected with fear. In a broken voice he started begging for mercy.

"But...we are brothers....you swore the alligence to my cause....Why? Don't kill me...please...don't kill me."

Peter was unmoved.

"This is there this ends."

He pulled the trigger. The bullet went right into Andrei's head, he fell from the table. Peter pulled out a cellphone and dialed a number.

"The operation has begun."

He hung up the phone and exited the basement, a black BMW was waiting for him outside, he got in and the car took off.

Inside the parliment building everybody heard the gun fire and the following explosion. A couple of women began to scream, the rest of the people inside the parliment were puzzled.

A man busted through the parliment chamber doors.

"For the fatherland!!"

He started spraying bullets out of his AK-74, people started dying. More armed men flooded into the building. Now more people were screaming and trying to look for cover. Pavel Rostov jumped off his chair and crawled under the table right behind his camera. A wave of bullets hit his portion of the parliment some people but he wasn't hit. On his headphones he could hear the frightened voice of Oleg Orlov.

"The parliment is under attack! I repeat the parliment is under attack! Somebody help us!"

This was followed by a sound of a gun firing and complete silence. It was then that Pavel understood that there will be no hostage taking, this was a massacre and nothing else. The AKs never stopped firing, less and less people were screaming. One of the attackers a man in his 30s went for the lower chamber podeum, he fired a bullet at Kiril Popov who then fell all 15 steps down the stairs. The attacker then got onto the podeum and raised his hand, all the firing stopped. The man on the podeum began to speak.

"We are the Pushkan Liberation Army. Here today we are freeing our fatherland from the burden of having to carry these fat pigs on our backs! No longer will we let them decide how to live our lives. We want it to be known to everyone that we are not afraid of dying for our cause."

From his pocket he pulled out a remote control.

"As i press this button, the fire will errupt that will consume the house of the corrupt and that will free us! In fire we shall be reborn!"

All the other attackers raised their hands and yelled out.

"Hail the Fatherland!"

The attacker on the podeum pressed the button. An explosion followed that shook the ground on the whole parlimentary square. Flames went up into the air, touching the sky as the roof of the building collapsed. Nobody was left alive as all the bombs strapped to the backs of the attackers exploded at the same time. For a moment there was silence, then sounds of sirens ripped the air as fire squads and rescue teams came into the area.

Television screens all over the Union were showing the same picture. A man in his 40s seatting behind the desk in the Kremlin conferenss room with a sad face. Billions of eyes at that moment were looking into his face, searching for a promise of hope. Prime Minister Alexandr Chorni was about to give them that promise, but not in the form they expected. He raised his face towards the camera and began his speech, his voice filled with sorrow.

"Earlier today this nation came under attack. Over a thousand people lost their lives to the frenzy of a group of dillusional fanatics who have no value for human life. Only this morning all these people, these fathers and mothers, were alive. They woke up, read the paper, drove their kids to school and then went to work to better the way we live our lives in this nation. And for that their lives were cut short, their families are now destroyed, many in this great nation lost all hope for the bright future."

His voice changed becoming stronger now.

"But there is a bright future. And i, as a ruler of this great nation, will lead you, my people, to that future. All i ask is for your loyalty. The old system has failed to protect itself, it has allowed these fanatics, these sub-humans to thrive. I shall not. Today i announce myself to be the Tsar. My nation no longer to be called the Union of Communist Republics that had failed so miserably to keep its people safe, but now it shall be called the Russian Empire because i believe that in our heritage is our salvation. Let us not look at ourselves as Puskavites or Moscovites, let us look at ourselves as Russians, the people born on the great land of Rus. You the people of the Great Russian Empire will be lead by me to a brighter future! I promise you that under my rule our nation shall not suffer from the cancer of traitorous men, our nation shall prosper like it never has before!"

The speech was over, now Tsar Alexandr Chorni got up from his chair and left the room. The picture on the TV screens switched to the flag of the Pushkan Empire, a flag not seen since 1898, and the emperial anthem started playing, not heard for over a century. People were puzzled, the Great Pushkan Civil War of 2005 has just began.

OOC: Thanks.

IC:

Marshall Zubov was just as puzzled as the rest of the nation as he watched the TV transmission in the Army Head Quarters in Brejnev. He waited 20 minutes for a call from Alexandr, who he considered his friend up until now, but the phone remained silent. Zubov's initial confusion transmitted into outrage, he was one of the few men who could do something and he was going to do something. He picked up the phone and dialed Alexandr's cellphone number. The phone on the other side rang two times and then finally somebody picked it up. It was Alexander he sounded calm considering what he just did.

"Zubov? I was expecting a call from you. I would imagine you want an explanation?"

"Yes you would imagine right, damn you. What the hell are you thinking Sasha!"

"I am thinking of greatness. A man like you should appreciate that."

"I did not spend 40 years of my life defending the Union to see it broken by someone who i considered a freind! What you did is beyond betrayal!"

There was a moment of silence on the other end. Then Alexandr came back his voice became different, he dropped the notes that are expected from an official conversation.

"What are you going to do Stiepa? What are you going to do? Will you wage war against me, your freind? Do you want this nation ruled by a small bunch of old idiots?"

"You leave me with no choice, i will fight you for the principal, too many have died for the union for it to end like this."

Alexandr hung up, there was no need for further talk, strong man act.

A minute later Marshall Zubov's phone rung again. He picked up, a man on the other end sounded concerned.

"Marshall Zubov, we have a problem, the R/C-R has just disconnected all of the forces under your command from the VRPB network."

Zubov pounded his desk in anger.

"Bastard! He left me blind! Okay...calm down...think. First of all i need to know who in the Army and the Air Force is still loyal to me."

Zubov called his secretary and told her to call all the top Regular Army commanders telling them about Zubov's position on this new issue. Zubov was nervous, this was a kind of situation that separated those who are really loyal from those who only pretended to be. Now it was all about waiting.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Alexander was seating in the back seat of a black limousine, opposite of him was a man in a dark-brown trench-coat with letters R/C-R displayed on his round shoulder pad along with the "two-crossed blades" insignia indicating a ran of a general. Two limo's full of bodyguards were behind and infront of Alexander's car. Alexander's face showed no sign of it but he was angry.

"Zubov betrayed me. There shall be no mercy for him. Old fool....he will pay."

Alexander faced the R/C-R General.

"Comrade Penkov, i will need you to give complete and total VRPB network access to all of the troops that choose to join my cause. I know that all the Guards Armies will remain on my side however i am not so sure about the regulars. For now disconnect them from the network, until they make it clear that they are on my side. I will post additional Guards divisions to reinforce your R/C-R bunkers across the nation, i assume that our enemy will try to take control of those bunkers and use the broadcasting equipment within them to try and reconnect his troops to the network."

The general's voice sounded icy and mechanical.

"I doubt that even if they take the bunker they'd be able to get access to the network. Each VRPB control center located in a bunker has its own set of codes which need to be entered every hour, the codes are memorized by the commanding officer of the bunker and his 3 aids, all of whom were trained to resist interregation and are able to kill themselves if the circumstances call for it."

"Even so, i don't want there to be any possibility of the enemy getting advantage of this kind of technology."

The limo kept driving through the busy streets.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Just outside the city of Usbensk in Cental Pushka an abandoned underground bunker complex was living its own life. Inside the gigantic complex stretching almost half a kilometer a big group of men numbering about 300 were cleaning their AK-74 rifles preparing themselves for battle. Each one wore a black uniform with swastika's printed on their shoulder pads. This group belonged to the Pushkan Liberation army. Somethere in the same bunker, in a small office room a fat man wearing round glasses and an expensive suit was walking back and forth across the room and yelling at his subordinate, a young officer in the black Pushkan Liberation Army uniform.

"What do you mean he disappeared! How can a man disappear then his own plan is about to be carried out! I want you to find me Peter Kuzmich, he was the one who persuaded me to act now! I want him in this office by mid day tommorrow. Am i understood?"

The subordinate looked slightly scared.

"Yes comrade General."

"And find me the pig that killed Andrei Harustin! I want to kill that bastard myself!"

"Comrade General....i have a reason to suspect that Peter Kuzmich was the killer."

"Nonsense, Kuzmich was not there during the operation, i told him to go to the hide out in Bruslovo."

"According to our operatives in Bruslovo, Peter Kuzmich never showed up."

"Still Kuzmich is one of our most trusted agents. Without him we wouldn't be able to put a hundred of our operatives in a building across the square from the parliment."

"That is true comrade General, but not to forget Kuzmich was a Communist Party Member."

General started getting irritated.

"His allegiance was to us, it is not your place to question him."

"Yes comrade General, of course."

"There is no evidence of his betrayal, him disappearing might mean a lot of things, maybe he was captured, no wonder its not on the news, everybody is too busy being concerned with that pig who proclaimed himself the Tsar."

"Yes comrade General."

"Find Kuzmich, and bring him here, we are making our move tommorrow, i need him in this bunker."

The young officer raised his hand.

"Hail the fatherland!"

He made a sharp 180 degree turn and exited the room.

Zubov was waiting for two hours for a reply from his secretary and finally it came. The phone run, Marshall picked it up.

"Comrade Marshall i have contacted all the top members of the regular Army and Air Force as you requested."

The secretary took a deep breath.

"Their responses were as follows: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 11th, 14th, 15th, 16th, 19th, 26th, 27th, 29th, 31st, 33rd, 34th, 35th, 37th, 38th and 39th armies have chosen to join your cause, along with all of the RR army, 1-17th Air Attack Divisions, 2-13th Ground Attack Divisions, 6th, 7th, 12th, 13th, 18th, 19th and 21st trasnport divisions, all of the paratrooper divisions, and 12 bomber divisions, also we received word from 14 VO command posts that pledged alligance to you. Would there be any other orders?"

Zubov expected the turn out to be something like that, now he knew who he was on his side, it was time to act.

"I want every top commander, exept for those of RR army, here in Brejnev in two hours, meanwhile tell them that i want them to mobilize their forces and take control of as many R/C-R bunkers as they can. Tell the air force to aid the army division closest to them. Priority however is getting the generals here, i want them to have proper air escort, also have VO posts loyal to me be ready to shoot down enemy ground-to-air missiles if needed. I order RR armies to launch a direct assault on Voronej, Army-General Vlasov is to lead that attack. This is all for now."

He hung the phone, he was getting tired of waiting but he knew that it was necessary.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

The limousince drove Alexandr and the R/C-R general to a small square building just outside Voronej.

"So this is how your famous R/C-R bunkers look from the outside?"

Alexadr asked the General.

"It is a state of the art facility, it will keep your royal highness safe for the time being."

"I hope so. Okay lets get in and get to business."

Both men and two douzen bodyguards entered the building, inside there was one small elevator, only good to transport to people. The R/C-R General started explaining.

"There is another entrance about 200 meters away in the woods, its hidden, has a 2 ton lid and an electronic lock that can only be opened from inside the bunker, the elevator there is much bigger then this one, we use it to transport heavy equipment and greater numbers of personnel."

He pointed his finger at the small elevator.

"This one will protect us in case of an attack, the enemy will only be able to go down 2 men at a time, allowing us to better defend ourselves incase of an attack."

General pressed a button on the elevator and two glass doors opened. General and Tsar went into the elevator and it started going down. The descent was long, stretching several minutes. Finally the elevator stopped, Alexandr could see a well lit hallway through the glass doors. The elevator doors opened the General came out first he turned his head towards Alexandr.

"Follor me please."

Two men were walking through a labirinth of hallways finally reaching a humangous room. It was about 20 meters wide and 30 meters long. On the opposite wall from the entrance there was a huge screen showing the current state of the VRPB model, including all the enemy positions, all the friendly positions, all the troop movements and so on. Right infront of the screen was a row of computers that stretched the whole width of the room. This row was one of 7 others just like it. General noticed Alexandr's curiosity.

"These are the operators, they analyze the data received by our intelligence devices and update the VRPB model accordingly...this is the place there your highness will be commanding your armies from."

A man ran up to the general and handed over a piece of paper. General looked over it and then handed it to Alexandr.

"This are the armies that joined your cause. Do you have any orders to give them right now?"

Alexandr looked over a list for a second.

"Yes, the enemy needs time to regroup, i don't want them to have that time, have the regular armies and air force divisions attack the closest enemy troops to them. My guards armies still are not in position to reinforce all the C/C-R bunkers, but i need them to be. Also 1st and 2d armies are stationed right outside of the Voronej military district. They will try to attack this bunker, thats for sure. I want 4th Guards army reinforced with the 17th Regular army to take care of them. Also i order all the VO command posts still loyal to me to shoot down any enemy aircraft that is in the air. In addition i want you to reconnect the Regular Armies and Air Force Divisions that joined our side to the VRPB system."

"It will be done by me personally."

General left the room.

In a VO station loyal to the Tsar, hidden somethere in Pushka a slow moving dot appeared on the radar. The operator Natalya Apolonova, has checked the VRPB system readings to confirm, it was a commerial jet liner. She called over her superior to tell her what to do. A big man in a green uniform with a square pad on his shoulder covered with a yellow/black stripe insignia, came over to Natalya's station. He leaned towards her controll panel and looked at the radar and at the LCD screen that was showing the VRPB. He turned his eyes towards Natalya.

"This might be an enemy transporter...hmm...."

The officer raised himself up and yelled out.

"Hey Borjoi, i want the communication department to contact this object...eh...object #231. Hurry up they are almost out of our zone of jurisdiction."

Ten minutes later somebody yelled out a response.

"They are not replying! R/C-R spy place gave us a visual its a 6th Army owned Jet Liner, probably transporting a General."

The commander thought for a second.

"Shoot it down!"

"Yes sir!"

Somebody in the other part of the room responded.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

A Zubov friendly VO bunker was tracking the movement of that aircraft as well. One of the operators saw a surface-to-air missile fly towards the craft. He knew what he had to do. Without the VRPB access the targeting had to be done the old fashioned way. Before VRPB became the standard use system for shooting down enemy missiles there was another programm called NRS, Natsionalnie Rocketnie Shit, it used several radar stations at once to triangulate the position of the enemy missile and intercept it. Valerie Bukov, the head operator of this VO was one of the few people who knew how to work with the old system, after he was assigned to this station he made it his business to teach his subordinates how to do it as well. Now this came in handy. The operator targeted the missile and hit the fire button. On his radar screen he saw another dot appear, few seconds later two dots collided and disappeared from the screen.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Zubov received a phone call.

"Under attack? I told you to order air attack divisions to escort each plane. What! Dammit. Okay tell Vorontsov that he is in charge of our airforces, including the paratroops. Tell him to do what he can to take out the VO stations he can get his hands on. I want my planes in the air."

He hung up the phone.

"I need my generals here before i start ordering the ground forces to do anything. Dammit. Lets hope they are not going to get here too late."

Tommorow came but Peter Kuzmich was nothere to be found. The General of the Pushkan Liberation Army Albert Posiansky had no choice, he had to command the attack.

Posiansky had his officers assembled in his office ready to carry out his orders. On his office table a map of the area was layed out with numerous markers on it indicating the PLA units and units of their enemies. General walked to the table and waved to his officers to join him they all leaned over the map and Albert started telling them the order of business.

"We have 1200 troops in the area, 300 in this bunker, and the rest scattered in the woods outside of the city. The enemy right now is too busy fighting themselves. We have received reports that the Union Army is divided, portions of it are now fighting each other. This is good for us, this gives us time to establish our stronghold."

He pointed on a big dot on the map.

"Usbensk will be the first to fall, there we will make our fortress and spread our influence across the land. The city is only protected by the local police units and ANZ. I doubt however that ANZ will take any action right now, they are still confused deciding what side they want to be on. They are not much of a problem. We attack from 4 directions, in 4, 300 men groups. We all race towards the city administration building doing as much damage as possible. Once we finally get there we will take over the building and make it our operations head quarters. After that we supress any resistance through out the city and start recruiting, by the end of the month the city should be ours. Okay lets go, all of you go back to your attack groups, attack starts in an hour. For the fatherland!"

"For the fatherland!"

The officers left the room.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Back in the R/C-R bunker outside Voronej Alexandr was looking at his own LCD screen, on it was a detailed VRPB model of the globe. Using his moused he zoomed in on the Usbensk area.

"Everything is happening like Peter told me, the Nazis will attack within an hour in four groups. Non of them will be left alive. This is almost too perfect."

He zoomed out back to the map of the Empire, on it he could see battles already raging across the nation. His eye was caught by several long strings of dots aproaching Voronej from all the directions.

"The RR troops. They have to be dealt with."

He picked up a phone next to him and pressed one of the speed dial numbers.

"General Hlopov? I put you in charge of the defense of Voronej. You have control of all military units in the Voronej district. Yes....yes....do not make me regret my decision."

Alexandr hung up.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Across the nation real war has started. Casualties weren't yet assessed but they were already in hundreds of thousands. Numerous UCR military units engaged their Imperial military counterparts and everythere there was bloodshed likes of which were not seen on Pushkan soil for over a century. Artillery strikes left clouds of dark smoke rising above the ground all over the nation. The air force of both sides was mostly grounded due to the efficiency with which rivaling VO stations were shooting down any aircraft that dared to take off into the sky. So far the battle was a stealmate, a bloody stalemate, and so it raged on and bodies piled up high, but the fate of the nation was to be decided by the fate of its capitol.

"URA! ZA RODINU!" one of the soldiers yelled before having his chest pierced with a heavy tungsten bullet. The battle in the Voronej district was the most fierce of all, as 1st and 2nd regular armies collided with 17th regular and 3rd Guards army. General Orlov's troops and General Polestinskie's troops were now engaged in a battle, after fighting side by side in the Cottish conflict just two months ago.

The whole nation it seemed was drowning in the sea of madness, a brother went against his brother, a son went against his father and everythere there was blood. Blood in the snow.

Attack Group Commander of the Pushkan Liberation Army Kiril Grozny was quietly leading his men through the woods towards the outskirts of the city. He believed in General Posiansky and the cause of the PLA more then he did in himself. He was a fanatic, there was no other way to describe it. Finally he reached the opening in the woods, from here he could see the first city buildings just 300 meters away.

Usbensk was a small city with a population of only 90000, it was a pefrect spot for PLA to make their move. They would take the city and they would use it as a base to launch further attacks.

Kiril brought his radio to his lips.

"All units, move in."

The 300 men of his attack group ran across the field their rifles looking infront of them. Their first objective was to disable the obvious enemy positions aka the Police stations and the local ANZ center. The first city building was now only a hundred meters away it was an abandoned textiles factory. The shattered glass windows on the 3 floor were gazing at the aproaching men in what seemed like fear.

A shot fired but it wasn't anyone of Kiril's men. Confused Kiril yelled into his radio.

"Down. Everybody down."

Another shot fired a man running beside Kiril fell down heavily with a hole in his chest. Kiril's men didn't know what to do, they were on a clear field, infront of them were abondoned buildings, this was a sniper's paradise. And then Kiril heard the sound, it was that unforgetable sound of death, falling from the sky. First artillery shell raised the ground up. Men started screaming in pain, somebody lost his leg, somebody lost his eyes, others lost half of their torso, those weren't screaming for long, in a minute they became silent. Kiril knew that he had to move, retreat was not an option for him, betraying his General's trust in his eyes was worse then death.

He got up and with his rifle infront of him ran towards the city.

"FOR THE FATHERLAND! AHHHHHHH!"

That was the sound that starts the avalanche, Kiril's men rose up and ran with him. They were all firing as they ran, spraying bullets into the unseen enemy.

Second artillery shell fell, then third then forth. Once Kiril's men were 20 meters from the building all of the artillery fire stopped. Machine gun fire began. Kiril could now see his murders, they were wearing black plastic looking armor, they were hiding on the first and second floors of the abandoned buildings, discharging round after round into the Nazis. These were the men of the Guards Pehota. In that moment Kiril understood that he was not going to live through the day, somebody has betrayed him and the whole Pushkan Liberation army.

Kiril got hit with the bullet in the head, his helmet cracked, then there was only darkness.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

General Albert Posiansky felt broken, it was all over, his troops were all ambushed by the Guards Pehota, non were left alive. Somebody betrayed Albert, only one name came to his mind.

"Peter. Why?"

Albert took a revolver out of his desk and put it against his temple. He pulled the trigger.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Alexandr now had a cause to celebrate, one of his enemies was destroyed, yet there was still another a much more dangerous one. Alexandr was ready to hear a report from General Hloppov of the 3rd Guards Army any time now.

"It's started."

The man looked over the feed from the spy satellite, camoflaged as a commercial satellite. In fact, the satellite did relay phone calls and e-mails, but it was also fitted with high-resolution real-time cameras, both conventional and thermal, as well as a ground-penetrating radar. Anyway, the feed coming in from the satellite showed what seemed like four full Pushkan armies engaging each other, evenly dispersed.

"That's the 3rd Guards Army there on the left. They are the ones that are loyal to the new tsar over there, that bastard Chorni."

"I never did trust that man," a strangely familiar voice said while blowing out some smoke from his cigar, a nice expensive Havana cigar. "He was too much of a ass-licker to my taste. I liked old Mishin better."

"Indeed sir. But what shall we do about the situation?" the man asked.

"Let them kill each other. When their forces are depleted, we'll move in and stake our claims. They'll regret for taking side with Caledonia in the recent conflict."

Zubov's prayers were answered, his Army-Generals arrived. He was waiting for them in his poorly lit office leaning against a long wooden table with several huge maps on it. They all rushed into the room, and greeted Marshall with a salute. Marshall was ready to tell them what to do.

"You will command your troops from here, there its safe. According to the reports i was given our forces have captured 3 C/C-R bunkers. Codes on one of them have already been entered and it is about to connect a portion of our troops to the network. We are back in business gentlemen. The codes of two others are still in the decoding process. Now bad news.

We won on 3 positions but lost on 5 others, our troops were forced into retreat, the other 4 positions are a stealmate. Okay people this is what i want to do. We already have 3 bunkers we should be enough for now. I want the Pehota of the 4th, 7th, 11th, 15th, 26th, and 27th armies to keep fighting for the bunkers, they can have all of their armie's available artillery support. The armored infantry of those armies is to reinforce the 1st and 2nd armies already fighting in the Voronej district, the RR army is approaching the district as well. We need to cut the head off the snake and the whole rotten structure will fall apart. Alright lets think in terms of the future. 3rd, 5th, 6th, 14th, 16th, 19th, 29th, 31st, 33rd, 34th, 35th, 37th, 38th and 39th are located further west, it will take some time to pull them up to the north-eastern Pushka in full strength, the enemie's troops however are mostly in this area around Voronej including all 9 Guards Armies and most of their Regular Armies. However two of the enemie's regular armies are trapped, thats the 8th and 18th armies. The districts they are in are surrounded by our troops, more specifically 5th, 14th, 19th, 34th and 35th armies. I want the 8th and 18th army to surrender, we outnumber them 5 to 2, it shouldn't be a problem, attack from all sides and attack hard. I give this operation to Army-General Gogol of the 14th army, you are in command of the operation. "

Marshall took a deep breath.

"The 29th, 37th armies i am sending to hunt for the enemy VO bunkers in the west, they should not be protected and we know there they are, if we are going to have to retreat west i want my aircraft providing cover. Get all 24 of them. Ogonkov, this is your operation. Lastly i want 3rd, 31st, 33rd, 38th and 39th armies to move towards Voronej engaging enemy troops as they go along. Kapashuk, this one will be yours. 6th and 16th armies are holding the newly conquered territories to far west, i want them to stay there and start preparing for defensive action, if everything goes to hell i want to have a safe place for my troops to go. Alenchenko i trust you will do accomplish that mission well. Okay, gentlemen, lets save this country."

Alexandr was looking over the forces he had, thinking of his next move.

"8th, 12th, 13th, 17th, 18th, 20th, 21st, 22nd, 23rd, 24th, 25th, 28th, 30th 32nd and 36th regular armies, plus 9 Guards armies. 8th and 18th are cut off and will probably be destroyed. 12th, 13th, 21st, 23rd, 24th, 25, 28th and 30th armies are too far west, it will take atleast a week to move them all here. They wil provide a buffer for the enemy armies that are also that far. So what i have left is 17th, 18th, 20th, 32nd and 36th armies. Plus the Guards.
20th and 32nd are both badly damaged and in forced retreat, the enemy is advancing, Zubov was able to accumulate his troops into one front faster then i thought he would. 17th regular and 3rd Guards army is engaged with the 1st and 2nd regular armies. So far it looks like they are winning but thats only before the RR Army arrives and 500 mm artillery guns start firing. Still that is my only solid position. The rest of the armies are in a stealmate fighting for the bunkers, but that doesn't do me any good the enemy has reinorcements on its way. There is only one thing to do."

Alexandr picked up the phone.

"I order 18th, 20th, 32nd and 36th regular armies to pull back to the Voronej district and reinforce the 17th regular and 3rd Guards armies. The order to be carried out immediately."

He hung up the phone, picked it up again and pressed another button on the speed dial.

"Hlopov, i just sent some reinforcements your way."

"Thank you commander, i can sure use them. I have dislocated parts of the 7the Guards army to deal with the RR troops. We haven't yet taken any RR artillery fire. The rest of the Guards armies are right now forming a protective circle around Voronej. I am confident that with the reinforcements you sent me we can win the battle for the district without using those armies. They'll be the spear head of our advance."

"I trust you, don't fail me."

"I won't, Commander."

Bei Ruiyan nodded. "Very true, Comrade Premier. I still love saying that, makes a change from 'Your Most Imperial Majesty'. Anyway, I strongly suggest that we try to help those still loyal to the UCR; if the Tsarists win, then we'll be the only communist state on the planet. Needless to say, that's not a suitable long-term situation."

Kristan Zhao tented his fingers. "Very well then. Find a way to get a message to whoever's left over there; tell them that if they need assistance, their Eastasian brothers are willing to help. We took down one detrimental monarch ourselves; let's help take down another."

After i am done though, i want to make an alliance with you sort of an NS version of Shanghai Cooperation Agreement, actually we might call it Shanghai Cooperation agreement. I'll talk to you more about that then i have more time, which is not right now and probably is tomorrow, just make sure that you're on MSN or AIM or whatever. Aight, thats all i had to say for now.

Also to everybody else, i will edit my last RP post because sending 8 elit Guards armies after the RR troops is ridiculus, so disregard that post for now.

Army-General Vlasov was riding in an armored train box, slowly moving on the tracks still 21 kilometers away from the border of the Voronej district. RR army was now separated into 4 groups, approaching Voronej from all sides. Vlasov himself was looking at his computer monitor. Only hald an hour ago another R/C-R bunker was taken and VRPB access was given to the RR Army. Now Vlasov knew there he was going and what he was going to do. He picked up his radio and pressed the on switch.

"All attack groups. Come to full stop and initiate battle scheme #14, fire then ready."

"All the attack groups are within range of enemy troops. The 500 mm shells should put some fear into the enemy. The bastards will try to shell us back once we're withing range. After that they'll try to charge us with their infantry. I can not allow that."

He pressed the on switch again.

"All the air-defense units prepare to engage incoming enemy fire with suppressing counter-charges. All assault infantry units. Assume defensive positions around your respective unit cabin. I authorize the use of armored machinery. I repeat i authorize the use of armored machinery!"

"That should take care of that."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ground shook as first of the 500 mm shells fell from the sky. It hit one of the ST-37K1 tanks in the turret. The tank exploded, flying few meters into the air and collapsing back on the ground.

First shell was followed by others.

"Official annoucement from Voronej District Military operations Commander Leonid Hlupov. All units retreat to the bunker line! I repeat all units retreat to the bunker line!"

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hlupov was now desperate, seating in the basement of the Voronej Guards army headquarters.

"Dammit. They started firing too early. I expected them to come into the trap i set up for them. I have no choice, i must pull all the Guards armies into the battle. Advance on the enemy in a great mass and overwhelm him. This is not a time for preserving human life and trying to act smart. Thinking stratigically will only ensure that my troops will be massacred by the enemy artillery fire."

He picked up the phone.

"All artillery and MLRS units within range of the enemy RR troops. I order an ordinance attack on the enemy!"

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Vlasov watched on the monitor showing the world outside his armored cabin as the sky became dark with enemy missiles. The RR missile batteries responded. The skies became lit with explosions, it was as if air itself was burning. A few missiles fell on the ground near the trains, even fewer actually hit they target and started and damaged a few cabins. But Vlasov knew that this wouldn't stop him. The enemy missed their one chance to take him out and he was going to make sure that they didn't have another one. The 500 mm artillery kept firing.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Back in Brejnev Oleg Pavlov was watching the progress of his 2nd regular army troops on a computer monitor. Twelve minutes ago he ordered full advance. The enemy was retreating. He wasn't going to let them. He knew that the whole thing will eventually escalate to a whole new bloody mess as the enemy is cornered and has nothere else to run but this was the best thing Pavlov could do. His army already lost half of its men and equipment, 2nd army was living out its last few hours on earth, Oleg wanted those hours to be glorious. Second army will go out with a bang.

The first army also badly damaged was trying to outflank the enemy from the different direction then the 2nd army. So far it was going good, future however held promise of great blood.

The TVs all over the nations were all turned on, all channels however were still only showing the flag of the empire and playing the anthem over and over. Suddenly however, the sequence ended. On the screen was now a man who looked like he was in his late 40s. His dark hair had a hint of grey and his skin was beggining the process at the end of which it would be covered with wrinkles. The man spoke softly, but through his words everybody could feel his inner strength.

"I am Vladimir Ivanov. Director of the Agenstvo Natsinalnoye Zashiti. In this past month our country has experienced death and destruction in its most ugliest form. The civil war. I say it now that this must end. We the people of this great land will not tollerate turmoil within our own ranks. Mister Tsar, Mister Marshall i urge you to stop this. This is not the way to settle things. Sons of these nation are dying! The task of keeping this land safe and stable has fallen on your shoulders and this civil war has clearly shown that this weight is too much for you. As a result of this i am forced to give you an ultimatum. You will either stop all violence now and turn the controll of the nation over to the people, or you will be forced to do so. I as Director of ANZ have power to call on the people to rise up to defend their motherland and i shall use this power. This is all i have to say. I have dispatched ANZ militia troops to arrest both the Tsar and the Marshall. I urge you not to resist. This is what's best for this nation. If you care anything about it you will surrender peacefully. That is all."

The message went into a loop, every TV channel now broadcasted it over and over. A feeling of hope rose in people's hearts.

Marshall Zubov was watching the TV with a grim face. He picked up his phone.

"This is Marshall Zubov speaking, inform me of then the ANZ militia arrives to the gates of this building. Open the gates and let them in. We are surrendering."

Several generals in the room were confused.

"Are you mad? You want to surrender in the middle of the campaign!?"

"Think of all the people who will die on the battelfield because of this!"

Marshall didn't tolirate this kind of thing.

"Shut up! All of you! I served this nation longer then any of you, i have killed and i have bled for it. The only reason that i put myself and my family in danger by opposing Chorni is because i thought that is what the people wanted. I was wrong. I see that now. There is no reason to continue this. Tell all your troops to fall back from the front and surrender to the ANZ militia."

Army-generals around the table started picking up their phones and giving out their final orders.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tsar Alexandr was watching the TV with a grim face. He picked up his phone and pressed a speed dial button.

"All units, shoot any ANZ personnel on sight."

"That bastard Ivanov can mess everything up for me. I have already gone through too much to give up now."

He picked up the phone again and pressed another speed dial button.

"All top ranking R/C-R personnel in this bunker. Report to the main tactical room immediately."

Half an hour went by and nobody showed up. Alexandr started getting irritated.

"I repeat my order...."

Alexandr was interrupted by a serious voice from the other end.

"This is Leitenant Valerie Vorobiev of the ANZ militia, we are coming down to arrest you."

"What?! I was betrayed! Bastards!"

Alexandr ran out of the room. His only way to escape was to get to the second elevator before the militia gets to him. He knew the way and he knew that he had to hurry. One turn, another, and another. He heard a sound behind him, somebody was running after him, somebody was yelling something at him, somebody tried to stop him. A gun shot fired and Alexander fell into welcoming hands of darkness.
