The Irish Invasion (Earth VII)

OOC: OK, this is my first detailed roleplay where' I've made a lot of effort. However, I am open to criticism. Specifically, have I made the military in Northern Ireland strong enough? However, I'd like to have any recommendations on how I can improve my RPing. This may take a while to finish, especially in the southern Ireland section, due to real-life time constrains
IC:
PART 1 - PRELUDE
Dr Joseph Edwards was sitting in his office alone, staring out of the window at the large city that was Redmofo. He had been living in Holland for over five years now, since the British government had fallen into total anarchy and the US had split into its different states. A lot had happened in the last few years – trade conferences, alliances, treaties, wars. However, there was one event that was bringing a tear to his eye. And that was CorpSec Corporation's brutal invasion of his homeland.

He had lived a good life in Britain – raised by loving parents, educated well, graduating with a degree in computing from the former prestigious Oxford University. His relations had fled to Ireland, one of the few Western European countries that had maintained its neutrality and not come under attack by foreign powers along with Spain, Portugal and Italy. France had been split in half by Pyschotika; a new movement was taking over in Germany, now called New Preussen. The Balkan countries were beginning to unite. Sweden and Finland had merged. And Norway had became a colony of the incredibly strict Kraven Corporation police empire. Ireland could be next; maybe falling to a good, fair group; maybe falling to CorpSec or Kraven Corp. At that moment, the Prime Minister knew what he had to do. He had to invade Ireland for its own protection.

PART 2 – INTELLIGENCE
The next morning, the Prime Minister called together his cabinet and key military chiefs. He told them to gather whatever information they could find about the country of Ireland, and bring it to the meeting. No-one else knew what the meeting was about, but they knew from the PM's tone it was something big. They hurriedly got together what they could find and attended the meeting at two o'clock.

At precisely that time, the cabinet members were sat down along with the heads of the army and air force, plus intelligence chiefs. Dr Edwards, esteemed Prime Minister of Rolatia, walked into the room with a highly serious look on his face. He sat down and remarked “Well, I see everyone is here on time”. He glanced around the room and said “And with the information I asked for. Excellent. Shall we begin?”. He gestured towards the military intelliegence head. “Well, good sir, what do you have for me on the Irish combined arm forces?”

The young man, apparently in his late-twenties, timidly spoke. “Do you want the Northern Ireland or Eire information first, sir?”

After a moment's though, the Prime Minister spoke. “Give me the Northern Ireland statistics first. I fear more for foreign intervention there”

“Well sir, I have good news on that. Northern Ireland is a country in turmoil. After the British Civil War II that destroyed the United Kingdom, all the previous agreements to help ease the tension between Catholics and Protestants were forgot. The IRA and the New English Forces-”

Dr Edwards suddenly put up is hand as an indication to halt. “Woah, stop there. What are the 'New English Forces'?”

The chief replied “Well sir, this group sprung up as a result of the IRA re-arming and re-mobilising. It's an army comprised of ex-British Protestants who either lived previously in Northern Ireland or fled from England, Wales and Scotland.”

“I understand. Please, continue” said Prime Minister Edwards

“Well, the two factions fought it out, until eventually what was formerly Northern Ireland split into two. The Catholic side is the west, the Protestant side the east and the dividing line is at two main places – these are the places where there is much tension. At Lough Neagh in the middle of the lands, the Protestants and the Catholics reside on opposite sides of the lake, and in Portadown the entire city is a disputed zone and a constant battleground.”

“And military forces?”

“Well, each faction has a small army on its side. The IRA are the generally stronger side, with approximately 3000 men currently in its ranks through voluntary means. They specialize in incidenary devices and explosives – we may take casualties from mortar launched. They are strongly defiant of any peace movement. The New English Forces contain about 7200 men, but they are poorly equipped. They do have a good amount of jeeps and a large amount of light arms, but they're not too powerful. The majority of them will not attack us, and will most likely lay down arms. The majority of Northern Irish residents want peace though, and would probably not cause a severe resistance.”

Dr Edwards nodded before turning to his heads of the military and air force. “So, what's the current strength of the Rolatian army that can be deployed?”

The military head responded “We have about 3500 frontline men that can be sent in, plus logistics personnel. We also have 1000 tanks we can send in plus a crew of 4000, and a whole load of logistics personnel. Also, we have a highly useful 2000 paratroopers . It depends on my comrade here in the air force”

The air force captain smiled and remarked “Well, I'm pleased to report we have a good 100 transport planes to take in our men and tanks. However, we'll have to limit ourselves slightly. I estimate we can take in 2800 men, 800 paratroopers and 300 tanks plus personnel, which should be enough considering the poor state of the army. Plus we have 150 tactical strike fighters, which could easily cause havoc, especially by targeted bombing”

Dr Edwards thought for about a minute. Finally, he responded “OK, this sounds like a good start. Mobilise the troops and air-force – we'll liberate Northern Ireland yet”. As the room emptied, the Prime Minister thought.

He knew he had to do this to stop Northern Ireland and eventually Ireland itself falling to a dangerous corporation or police state. He knew he had to do this to bring peace to a war-torn country. He needed to do this for freedom, liberty, equality – for the Northern Irish people themselves

(OOC: Hope you accept the slight family god-mod, it's nothing major)
Captain Roberts looked out at his impressive airforce and smiled. There were planes left, right and centre - a total of nearly 300 of them, some built for fighting, some built for transport, but all part of a fearsome array. And they would prove so useful - they would help keep at least part of Ireland free. One of his planes had already taken off - it had picked up the family of Dr Edwards, and was nearly back at Rolatia. He smiled again when he thought of the happiness the leader would experience at meeting his family.

Suddenly, he heard a deafening roar. Ah, there they go. He was referring to the transport planes, which were now taking off set out for Belfast. Their aim? To take Belfast and the rest of Northern Ireland, then move on to Ireland. Their payload? Thousands of men and tanks. Their motive? To stop the tyranny of CorpSec taking over there.

MILITARY REPORT
The transport planes, loaded with all troops being used initially in the campaign are flying around to Belfast, and are currently flying down the English Channel. The tactical strike fighters are being mobilized to make an attack on Belfast and specifically the IRA stronghold, containing around 500 men and several high-ranking personnel in the centre of the city. There is no formal state of war (although for Northern Ireland, none is needed - it's recognized as a non-colonized place) and no-one is officialy aware of the troops flying through

Dr Edwards was, as usual, in his office. And as usual, he was having a deep thought. It had just occured to him that taking Ireland would cause destruction, and possibly be a very tough fight - he wanted to avoid that. He knew that Ireland knew that it was in danger, so they may sign over alliegance to a stronger power that could protect them. He picked up the telephone and called the Irish Prime Minister
"Hello, is this the Irish Prime Minister?"
"That it be. What can I do for ye?"
"I have word your nation is under threat from CorpSec Corporation. They are a brutal company who will oppress your citizens and possibly even kill them. I need you to do an agreement with me - I need you to become a protectorate of Rolatia"
After a moment's pause, the reply came "Well, since we'll be still self-governing I agree to ye offer. May this be a celebrated day because of ye glorious agreement between Rolatia's Irish PM and Ireland's PM, aye?"
"Yes, thank you. I shall send the document now."
As he put down the phone, Dr Edwards was incredibly happy. His diplomatic agreement had worked - Ireland had handed over control to Rolatia. He only hoped that CorpSec would not respond hostily...
OOC: This means that Ireland is now a protectorate of Rolatia. They're basically self-governing but commanded by Rolatia overall

CSN Blake, FFG-7 Class Frigate. English Channel part of Blockaid Task force. (http://www.fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/ship/ffg-7.htm)

"Skipper, i have boggies incoming, i count a total of 15 fighter profiles unknown class and 100+ plus transport profiles unknown class. There heading will take them to ireland but will cross us first." A radar officer reported.

"ALL HANDS GENERAL QUETERS" rang across the frigate, from the outside the CSN Death the Iowa Battleship could be seen aswell as the DDG-993 KIDD class Destroyer CSN Hex.

"i hope your kidding, any idea where they came from?" the Captian asked as the crew rushed about, weapons systems lit up rader was going mad.

"no sir, best guess, Europe maby Rolatia controled europe but like i said thats a guess"

"what does high command say" the Captain shouted to the Comms officer.

"take action, we have no idea of there intentions class as hostile and open fire at will for all we know it could be a RAF raid."the com officer said, "after all we are in a state of war"

"ok, lock on missiles, order the rest of the ships to pick targets. Contact CSA to send in a few wings of fighters, we cant do this alone."

"aye sir"

The Radar from all the ships had suddenly spiked, lock on could be noticed by the incoming fighter. Missile had locked, anti aircraft guns were tracking....in a few seconds they would open fire without warning.

OOC: what you expected me not to have ships in the english channel? im at war remember im invading England on all fronts even if its with small groups. And yes my ships will open fire without warning, like i said for all we know it could be a RAF raid along the coast from a forign ally.

OOC: You have wrong estimates - it's more like 90 transports and NO fighters.
IC: As the fleet of aeroplanes flew over the English Channel, a loud BANG was heard followed by more of them. The Head Pilot checked his radar and quickly shouted over the radio system "We have incoming missiles of CorpSec origin! They mean business, RETREAT!"
The planes quickly turned around, and got away relatively fast but with a few losses. Four planes full of logistics personnel were downed, and seven others were damaged and had to land in un-occupied France. On hearing about the news, Dr Edwards was furious and immiedately dispatched a letter to CorpSec:
Greetings,
I have word you just downed or damaged several of our transport planes in French territorial waters, and we were lucky not to lose more. We are very unhappy about this. You could have contacted us before opening fire - we have an extensive radio network on the aeroplanes. The troops were flying to our new protectorate for peace-keeping operations. We demand at the very least recognition of our planes - they have an unique radio signal that makes them identifiable. We hope we can reach an agreement so the aeroplanes can fly through the English Channel

Kayla sat in her office, looking around when the reports of the large mass of planes was detected. Heading for ireland hey she thought, interesting right after Ireland had agreed to be a protectorate of Rolatia.

Right away she got in contact with the Ireland PM.

"fools, you know that dont you?"

"pardon me Kayla but what Ireland does it our own matters"

"really.....hows the fact that the Corporation is about to if not already engaging Suspected Rolatia aircraft, over 100 transports...heading for you way befor you agreed to your protection. You really think that thats what they are really going to do?"

"what...they never told me this"

"oh yes ontop of that but we the corporation are risking alot to stop them craft reaching you, why would we invade you we have our problems with England besides i would have thought you would support us, after all we would support you if you invaded northen Ireland...it was agreed apon. now deal with this mistake or elce there will be an invasion of ireland and well will do far worse then whats going on in england, we will wipe out all irish people."

She slamed the phone down, her Generals had summed aready.

"you know the problem?"

"Rolatia might have a satilite nation right on our doorstep"

"true, this is whats to happen. Ireland will be blockaided i dont care how just do it, bomb ports if you have to, northen Ireland on the other hand will be provided with weapons with an agreement that thye fight Ireland. Sactions will be imposed apon Rolatia, all Rolatia companies will now be pay a 200% tax on the cc meaning for each cc they make they must pay us 2 cc. next off we will stop trade with them none of our Corporate Sections are to trade with Rolatia full stop, they can sell in our nation but we will not in theres."

"thats a bit harsh but fair"

"then and this is the fun part, CSIA will run shadow ops with in Ireland and frame the Rolatia goverment for meny acts of terror."

"it wont be easy but we can do it"

In the Rolatian PM's office, a phone rang. Dr Edwards picked it up with curiosity and started talking to the voice ont he other side. "Oh, hello Prime Minister, what can I do for you?"
"I have word from CorpSec that ye were sending a force of 100 transports over here. Explain"
"OK, fine. Look, they were going to be used for peacekeeping operations, most specifically helping you in Northern Ireland. Apparently however they will not be usable now. Hold on, one sec, I'm getting another call". Dr Edwards switched over to line 2 and heard the voice of his intelligence minister. "We have a BIG problem. I've got insiders that are telling me CorpSec are going to be blockading Ireland. Might be some other...controversial activities blamed on us."
"OK, let's face facts. The CorpSec Corporation is too powerful for us. Send orders to all troops to go back to Redmofo and to stay there. Meanwhile, I'll put out a dispatch to CorpSec."
TO: CorpSec High Command
Greetings,
My intelligence services are suggesting that you are going to try and stop Ireland becoming Rolatian. We do not wish to fight with your nation, and are therefore handing over protectorateship of Ireland to you if you are willing to back down from blockading Ireland. I have already taken out those who need it through a transport that flew a long way around to get there with going near England. I hope we can reach a peaceful agreement.

"Erm, sir? We had an intelligence failure. CorpSec have a military of...um, 1000 times less than our agents reported."
"WHAT?!?" screamed Dr Edwards "OK, that's it. Tell them that the statement was falsified or something - we want Ireland back!"

MILITARY REPORT:
The transports are being told now to go back accompanied by 150 tactical strike fighters. They are ready to attack any defense installation that goes against them, but for safety are going over the French coast. THEY HAVE NOT LEFT ROLATIAN LAND YET

INTELLIGENCE REPORT:
The CorpSec army numbers somewhere around 2.3million people. This is much bigger than our force, however evidence suggests that the army is incredibly poorly trained and supplied. They have almost no logistics personnel (ranging from 1:2 in the infantry to 1:8 in the navy) and all things considered will probably die or commit munity to our better-trained army in huge numbers

I'm not trying to make you look noobish, it's only what intelligence is saying. Of course they'll make your army sound a bit worse to encourage us to attack
I have to go now, so I'll answer your posts in the morning
