OOC: This thread will contain all Space, Air, Mass Driver, and other advanced projects of Potty 5. This is not for Potty 5's military projects (currently) though a significant portion of the defense budget is for the space program.

With the completion of the Mt. Zork Coil gun, the Potty 5 space program moves on to the next step. The creation of 5 space station of masses 500 tons through 2500 tons (metric) over 5 years. Two trillion (US) dollars have been allocated to the project AND Potty 5 is looking to FOREIGN contractor in order to more quickly produce the space stations. In addition Potty 5 is looking to FOREIGN contractors for the development of power plants to increase the number of launches that the coil gun can make (currently c. 20 a day). If any nation, corporation, inventor, exc. can provide an energy source that could conceivably produce 80 GigaWatts more economically then 40 large Nuclear Reactors please say so.

Also Potty 5 will is now offering a satellite launch for as low as $20,000,000 we can put 30.85 tons (metric) into a 400 km orbit. (Prices vary, and are subject to change w/o notice) that is less then $251 a pound! Too expensive? Then we can put multiple orders into 1 launch for only $500 a pound. This is far less expensive then any self propelled system can offer (eg. Rockets)! Call the Potty 5 Department of Defense Civilian Programs AeroSpace Zork Coil today to get your cargo into orbit! (Live cargo is not allowed as the projectile accelerates at 10.7 g's, and that is not safe [Humans can take 9g's]; Electronics, exc can withstand this though)

OOC: oops. I made an error, you are correct. In fact 98 average nuclear reactors would be able to do it. I was off by 3 decimal places when nuclear power plants can make as much as 2 GW. Thank you for pointing that out i will fix it.

With 300 tons of the first space station in orbit, and 1/2 of that assembled the program is falling behind schedule. Gov't officials report that Potty 5 just does not have sufficient manufacturing capability to do this work in such a short amount of time. Officials said that this project is NOT over budget but...

After some last minuet negations with DMG Military Industries, what looked to be disaster was averted. The Nation of Potty 5 would is issuing a great thanks to DMG Military Industries that could, is being credited with being responsible for saving the Potty 5 space station program. As a result things are only 6 moths behind and space station 1 is almost finished. In a matter of months the first space station will be operational and it will unfurl it prototype solar sail. This propulsion system will give the space station theoretically unlimited mobility as it will be able to lower and raise its orbit and even sustain previously unstable orbits indefinitely. In other news commercial space flights are now being offered. Though the flight does not reach the space station or use the massive coil gun, for a price of $300,000 a person can get a flight on a SSTO that will do a single flyby of the space station. This SSTO is a version of the same SSTO that is used to get the astronaut crews to the space station. In 5 years there are pans to add an option to board a space station (probably space station 3) and even allow ‘overnight’ stays.

We Buy It Incorporated offers contracts for the Space Stations, we can offer safer more economical alternitives to the coil gun, Comona Rocket Station currently operates two large 10 mile long massdriver, when coupled with a SSTO each can provide launches every 1-2 days, and it provides smoother acceleration of 8.5g and when coupled with G suits it provides a smooth ride for human pilots.

This is also cheap since the massdriver provides most of the acceleration discarding the need for large external fuel tank and solid rocket boosters to be able to get to low orbit (~500km). The SSTO can remain in orbit for 5 days, and with two rocket boosters attached it can reach high orbit and geostationary orbit, about 36,000km for times of about 2 days, currently we operate a fleet of 6 SSTOs, with 4 available to general use.

OOC: The Silver Sky your solution in inpossible. 8.5 g's on a 10 mile track ends up far too slow to reach orbit (you are under 2km/s but you need over 7km/s [more when you count friction]). Also a mass driver is a coilgun.

With the completion of the first space station and the nearing completion of the second Potty 5 announces that we intend to go to the moon not because it is hard but because it is easy. The moon projects will start actual construction in a little over 3 years. The spacecraft will be constructed in orbit in the not yet started Space Station 5. In other news Potty 5 announces the creation of a satellite GPS system (named P5GPS) that will feature 64 satellites to provide 100% coverage over any place in the world. In order to ensure the longevity of the system each satellite is totally self-sufficient and fitted with a solar sail propulsion system to keep the satellites in orbit. In addition the P5GPS satellites will include a verity of sensors equipment to aid the meteorological, cartography, oceanography communities as well as limitless other uses. Due to the ability of the coil gun to put huge masses into orbit engineers have a lot of freedom in designing the satellites. In addition to the government funded programs Potty 5 has many civilian programs related to space. The largest industry (as of now) in Potty 5 is the information technology sector. So the Gov’t is recouping the expenses (partly) through the Mt. Zork coilgun’s ability to put Communications satellites in orbit.

Also the Gov’t has changed its policy on the costs of putting items in orbit. We are now only charging 10,000,000 million for a single launch or $500 a kilogram if you do not want an entire launch.

Today the P5GPS systems is now fully operational. Also Space Station 2 (a 1000 ton space station) has been asmebled in orbit. The space station contains equipment for expermentation in zero-g materials manufacturing (eg Smelting).
In addition Potty 5 is now anouncing the creation of a program that would look into 'anti-asteroid defense'. In other news recent sightings of UFOs over some rural regions of Potty 5 has led to a millitary investigation.

Today 'anti-asteroid defense' was canceled with 280 million spent. In other news the Zork gun continues to launch items in orbit with the first piece of space station 4 being put up today. In other news Space station 3 has been completed (mass 1500 tons) and it will serve as an orbital physics research station.

'Anti-asteroid defense' a hoax! We at the regional inquisitor have found sensitive information that point to 'anti-asteroid defense' being a coil gun based space weapon system. Our data shows that the system will contain 192 satellites armed with automatic coilguns that fire 1cm diameter 20cm long sg8 projectile at 13 km/s. We believe that the 280 million was simply the cost for the weapon development but we wish to protest Potty 5's putting weapons in space!

Potty 5 does in fact has a program to put small coil guns that will fire hypervelocity projectiles at enemy missile and satellites. Though the technical data is way off (The real gun is 3.17 cm, same L: W ratio and only 7km/s. And the guns cost about 3 billion to make) But no one outside if Potty 5 knows this IC.

What is the level orbit you desire?

You do realize that 200 launches can put 6000 metric tons in orbit (More then 13 International Space Stations). ( We can put multiple items in orbit with a single launch vehicle).

The cost would be $2,000,000,000.

Also we need to have the contents for each launch in advance to fit them into the launch vehicle (it acts as a heat shield, guidance system, and allows for multiple independent items to be put in orbit).

Also we would like to know more about the CSBCPS (if it is secret you can send a telegram). And we will inspect each system prior to launch for our safety and to ensure successful launches. (OOC: If you lie we will know).

Reports indicate that recently the nation of Spizania had contacted the nation Potty 5 on the issue of putting a large number of systems in orbit. For reasons unknown to the public the offer was turned down by the nation of Potty 5

In other news a recent report has shown 10 billion dollars has been allocated to a project named 'P5ODS'. No information about this project is available and the government is keeping quiet. What has been determined is that P5ODS is related to the Mt. Zork Coil Gun and there for is likely related to coil guns or satellites.

Also Space Station 5 has been completed today. This is the largest of all Potty 5 space stations to date and will be the assembly station for the upcoming Potty 5 moon mission. The government is also looking into a Space Station 6 which would serve as an orbital factory that would produce various materials in Zero G conditions.

Today information was leaked about the creation of multi-gigajoule neutral partial cannon for the military. The purpose of the weapon is unknown but some believe that it will be a ground based steatite destroying weapon, or the other way around (satellite based ground destroying weapon). Official sources are offering no answers on the multi-gigajoule neutral particle cannon.

Despite the completion of Space Station 1 through 5, and P5GPS the number of non-civilian cargo launches at the Mt. Zork coilgun is not decreasing. A large number of items have been put into orbit and new programs may be responsible. Here is an overview of Potty 5 space projects:

It is believed that initial cost will be 100 billion dollars and it will consist of over 100 satellites. This is a military project, it is hypothesized that this is an orbital weapons system.

Cover for satellite based missile defense that utilizes electromagnetic weapons. Some believe that 'Fish Tacos' is the satellite based missile defense. The system will/would have/does consist of 192 satellites.

This is the hypothetical moon project that will be based from Space Station 5.

Project 'Space Station 6' (Public, Hypothetical):
This is a hypothetical space station thrice as massive as Space Station 5 that would serve as an orbital factory that would produce items in a Zero-G environment.

Project P5GPS 'Blip in Space' (Public?, Completed):
This is the Potty 5 GPS system. It consists of 64 satellites. The satellites have a verity of sensory equipment, much of the data it collects is available for public use but it is believed that there are some functions that have not been divulged to the public.
