The original T.I.E. Fighter was built by Republic Sienar Systems for the Old Republic. When the Old Republic collapsed, Republic Sienar Systems was renamed Sienar Fleet Systems. The company was ordered to redesign the old T.I.E. into a starfighter made specifically for the Empire's use. The TIE Fighter was the result. The starfighter outclassed ever other fighter in the same price class during its period of production.

Later, the Empire decided to order an improved TIE Fighter, which has resulted in the mass produced TIE/ln Starfighter line.

The TIE/ln Fighter forms the backbone of the Empire. Designed to replace the aging TIE Fighter, the TIE/ln is an extremely fast and maneuverable fighter. It is a superior fighter of its time and can beat the Y-wing and Z-95 Headhunter in most engagements.

TIE/ln Fighters were first bested by the X-wing starfighter by Incom. The Empire has implemented the rule of engaging Rebel X-wings with a minimum of three TIE/lns.

Before the Battle of Endor, the TIE Interceptor was heavily replacing the TIE/ln model. However, because of the huge amount of TIE Fighters in service, the TIE Interceptor will never completely outnumber its predecessor.
Like all TIE ships, it has a titanium alloy hull and quadanium steel armored solar panels. Also, like other TIE ships, it is built exclusively from Seinar Fleet Systems components, and has no primary life support systems. It is a short-range starfighter, requiring a nearby base of operations from which to obtain fuel and guidance.

TIE Reconnaissance

Model: TIE/rc Fighter

---
The TIE/gs, sometimes referred to as the TIE Extended Fighter, is a planetary superiority fighter version of the original TIE Fighter model. This craft is designed specifically for short-range planetary patrol and defense duties. The TIE/gs can also be used in short range space missions, assuming the pilot wears a sealed flight suit, but perform its function much better in a planetary atmosphere than in deep space. The TIE/gs Fighter's attached repulsorlift booster engine gives it a remarkable fast atmospheric cruising speed and maneuverability, which is comparable to the TIE interceptor's.

TIE Ground Targeting

Model: TIE/gt Fighter

Manufacturer: Sienar Fleet Systems

Designation: Short Range Ground Targeting Support Fighter

Length: 6.3 meters

Crew: 1

Cargo Capacity: 65 kilograms

Consumables: 2 days

Speed: 75 MGLT

Hull: 9 RU

Weapons: 1 Laser Cannon, 1 Concussion Missile Launcher and 1 General Purpose Launcher.

---
A spin-off of the TIE/ln, this is the Empire's first "TIE bomber". It is essentially a TIE/ln with a large warhead launcher attached to the bottom. Due to the added mass, the TIE/gt is slower and less maneuverable than the TIE/ln, but has an increased offensive capability that the Empire lacked in its other starfighters at the time of production. After only a few years of mass production, Sienar Fleet Systems started producing the much more successful TIE Bomber - a double hulled variant that is incredibly deadly in combat.

TIE Trainer/Shuttle

Model: TIE/ts Fighter

Manufacturer: Sienar Fleet Systems

Designation: Short Range Trainer/Shuttle Fighter

Length: 6.3 meters

Crew: 1

Troops: 1 (trainer or priority personnel)

Cargo Capacity: 45 (+ 100 if no passengers are carried) kilograms

Consumables: 1 day

Speed: 80 MGLT

Hull: 9 RU

Weapons: 1 Laser Cannon

---
While most Imperial training takes place in simulators, there is still a point at which a pilot must have a real craft with real vacuum around him, while not yet being ready to solo. The TIE/ts Fighter uses a slightly extended fuselage of the one on the TIE/gt Fighter (the cockpit pod has been extended by 21 cm), and replaces the concussion missile launcher with a (very cramped) seat for an instructor pilot. It also serves as a short-range (intra-fleet and surface-to-orbit) shuttle. While it can carry a second pilot, among the instructors at fighter academies, being assigned to "back seat" students is seen as a punishment, because of the minuscule seating.

TIE Vanguard

Model: TIE/rc Vanguard Fighter

Manufacturer: Sienar Fleet Systems

Designation: Short Range Reconnaissance Fighter

Length: 6.3 meters

Crew: 1

Cargo Capacity: 65 kilograms

Consumables: 2 days

Speed: 80 MGLT

Hull: 9 RU

Shields: 20 SBD

Weapons: 1 Laser Cannon

---
http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b184/Upum/Star%20Wars/tievan.jpg
---
This short-range reconnaissance fighter was deployed to gather information of enemy starship movements before engaging the enemy fleet in space battle.

The TIE Vanguard is based on the standard TIE/ln design, however the physical difference between the TIE Vanguard and TIE/ln Fighter are greater than for the TIE/rc reconnaissance craft. Several large antennae protrude from the command pod. The upper section of each wing is shortened and swept outwards to reduce interference with some of the enhanced scanners and communication equipment. Several large antennae for the sensors and scanners also protrude from the command pod. The TIE Vanguard is equipped with a small deflector shield to protect the valuable information it gathers.

TIE Fighter Boat

Model: TIE/s Fighter

Manufacturer: Sienar Fleet Systems

Designation: Aquatic Superiority Fighter

Length: 4.3 meters

Crew: 1

Cargo Capacity: 45 kilograms

Consumables: 2 days

Speed: 10 MGLT (120 km/h)

Hull: 9 RU

Weapons: 1 Heavy Blaster Cannon and 1 Concussion Missile Launcher.

---
Image (http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b184/Upum/Star%20Wars/mis.gif)
---
The TIE Fighter Boat, sometimes referred to as the TIE Sub Fighter, is an aquatic superiority fighter version of the original TIE Fighter model. This particular TIE has been designed exclusively to operate underwater. Normally attached to Imperial Army Aquatic Garrisons, the TIE Fighter Boats serve as underwater patrol and defense craft. They can also work together with Aquatic Terrain Armored Transport Swimmers (AT-AT Swimmers) and Aquatic Assault Stormtroopers (Seatroopers) in deep water assaults.

Since the TIE Fighter Boat can't operate in space or in normal planetary atmospheres, the Imperial Starfleet doesn't have as many of these craft at their disposal, as the Imperial Army. But if needed in special missions, Naval Command will supply the ships along with other aquatic assault vessels. The Imperial designed AT Barge, onboard most Imperial Star Destroyers and heavy cruisers, is also used to deploy the AT-AT Swimmers and TIE Subs directly into the oceans.
The TIE Fighter Boat is armed with an underwater blaster cannon and 6 underwater missiles with the blast effect of standard space concussion missiles.

TIE X1 and X2

Model: TIE/x1 and TIE/x2 Fighter

Manufacturer: Sienar Fleet Systems

Designation: Space Superiority Starfighter

Speed: X1 has 100 MGLT and X2 has 105 MGLT

Hull: 14 RU

Shields: 20 SBD

Weapons: X1 has 2 Blaster Cannons and X2 has 2 Boosted Laser Cannons.

---
A program that never became a standard craft, the TIE X series is no less impressive despite its low numbers. Intended to replace the TIE/ln Fighters in many roles, it was the first group of TIEs to carry shields and a hyperdrive. Using a long set of solar panels, similar to those that would later be used on the TIE Bomber; it is not as maneuverable as the TIE/ln Fighter. Many pilots feel that the higher speed more than counteracts the loss of nimbleness (these apparently include Lord Vader, who supposedly had a personal hand in the design of the TIE X series), as a good pilot can make up for poor performance. They use advanced targeting systems and stronger laser cannons, but the boosted power chambers experience greater erosion than the standard models, thus requiring higher level of maintenance. This is the running theme of the TIE X series, as all of the systems require a higher degree of care taking for reliable function.

After the TIE X1, sometimes called the TIE Assault Craft, there would be a to notable variation. The first was a custom made craft, given as a gift to Lord Vader by the President of Santhe/Seinar, which he used in the Battle of Yavin. It is believed that he used this craft until it was destroyed during the Battle of Endor, resting in its launch cradle on the Executor.

It was followed by a the TIE X2, which featured slightly improved systems, a more powerful navigational computer, a repulsorlift generator and a set of field landing skids. There were fewer of the TIE X2's made, but they were a more popular craft with pilots, who no longer needed to return to specially equipped ships or garrisons to land. These can be distinguished by the cutouts made in the leading edge of the solar panels, forming the "dags" that would become famous on the Interceptor and TIE Advanced.

TIE Lone Scout

A hyperdrive capable scout and reconnaissance TIE craft, that was one of the many vessels being used throughout the unexplored and untamed regions of the galaxy, to expand the Empires Frontier. The Imperial Survey Corps (ISC) in the processes of cataloging the galaxy especially used the ship.

The unipod hull is much longer and thicker than that of the smaller TIE/ln fighters, but the front end is the same standard command pod cockpit. In order to support the large radiator wings, the wing pylons are the thicker, sturdier kind, similar to those of the TIE X1 fighter.

The wings are bent, but unlike the wings of a bomber or boarding craft, there is only one bending edge. The wing area is above the midplane of the ship, this is to keep the wings clear of the ground during independent planetary landings. As a scout craft, this ship should be able to land in places other than the conventional ceiling rack of a garrison base or warship. The TIE Scout also has retractable landing pads like the larger TIE transports and TIE X1 Fighters.

TIE Boarding Craft

Model: TIE/bc Boarding Craft

Manufacturer: Sienar Fleet Systems

Designation: Short Range Boarding Craft

Length: 7.8 meters

Crew: 1

Troops: 10 + 4 (trooper squad + passengers)

---
These bent-wing vessels are one of the oldest common TIE models, dating back to the earliest days of Emperor Palpatine's rule. The Imperator I Class Star Destroyer was designed to carry six of these ships. The TIE Boarding Craft were also a major part of the hangar complement of the Imperial I Death Star battle station, where 806 TIE Boarding Craft were carried.

The wings and hull design are similar to those of a TIE Bomber and TIE Shuttle Craft, but the vertical segment is somewhat larger, and has radiator panels on its inner surface as well. The starboard pod contains the cockpit, but has space for more occupants. The portside pod is designed to carry a squad of navy troopers or stormtroopers for boarding operations. The forward end of the port pod bears a docking clamp, and has a general-purpose airlock and automatic cutting torches to breach the enemy ship or space station. This mechanism can be extensible beyond the vessel's wings to facilitate mating with a wider variety of docking ports.

TIE Bomber

Model: TIE/bm Bomber

Manufacturer: Sienar Fleet Systems

Designation: Light Short Range Bomber

Length: 7.8 meters

Crew: 1

Cargo Capacity: 15 metric tons (bomb bay)

Image (http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b184/Upum/Star%20Wars/Tie2520Bomber25202.jpg)
---
The TIE Bomber was developed to replace the aging TIE/gt fighter. It features a double hull capable of carrying a lethal load of warheads, orbital mines, or free-falling thermal detonators. After the Battle of Yavin, and a two-year replacement operation of the TIE/gt, the TIE Bomber became the primary space bomber in the Imperial Navy.

The TIE Bomber excels at surgical placement of ordinance, picking out small targets on planetary surfaces or on enemy ships. In contrast with full-scale naval bombardment, which leaves only rubble behind, the TIE Bomber can selectively destroy military targets while leaving commercial or military assets untouched. This makes them much more accurate than many capital ships. With its small size and relatively high speed, the TIE Bomber can often slip past defense systems set up to watch for larger craft. It suffers in maneuverability, due to its double-hulled configuration, but when complemented by TIE Fighters or TIE Interceptors, it makes a lethal combination.

Before the Emperor's death, the Empire was working on an advanced prototype TIE bomber that eventually evolved into the TIE Scimitar Assault Bomber.

TIE Heavy Bomber

Model: TIE/hbm Bomber

Manufacturer: Sienar Fleet Systems

Designation: Medium Short Range Bomber

Length: 7.8 meters

Crew: 1

Cargo Capacity: 30 metric tons (bomb bay)

Consumables: 2 days

Speed: 80 MGLT

Hull: 33 RU

Weapons: 2 Laser Cannons, 4 Concussion Missile Launchers and 2 Proton Torpedo, Orbital Thermal Detonator Launchers or Mine.

---
The standard TIE Bombers were developed to replace the aging TIE/gt fighters. The new bombers were heavier and more deadly against larger targets. But still before final testing had ended and before line production had begun, some Imperial officers from the Starfleet Research and Development Group wanted even heavier bombers build. The Rebellion had been spreading like a virus from planet to planet and had become a serious threat, one to be reckoned with. The Rebel forces recently encountered by the Starfleet had been more well equipped and in larger numbers than ever before. And with help from the ugly and repulsive Mon Calamari specie and their huge MC cruisers, they had already managed to take out large Imperial installations and even a few Imperator-Class Star Destroyers. Direct fleet-to-fleet battles had not until recently occurred between Rebel and Imperial forces. The R&D officers anticipated a much larger threat from Rebel capital and command ships in the near future and therefore started their own development and testing of medium and heavy versions of the TIE Bomber.

The new bombers should be able to take the TIE Bombers role in full-scale fighter assaults, primarily in assault on larger ground and space installations or capital spacecraft. By carrying a bigger payload of warheads, they could speed up the final destruction of the enemy, and thereby saving many Imperial fighters from the enemy’s guns and artillery, hopefully without having to withdraw during battle for resuppliement of Warheads.

The first enhanced TIE Bomber model became the TIE/hbm. This enhanced bomber has the same basic features but nearly twice the firepower of the TIE Bomber. The propulsion engine is upgraded to compensate for the added mass of the craft, thereby giving it the speed of the standard TIE Bomber.

The idea of the Rebel forces becoming a "real" threat to the unmatched Imperial Military was by many high ranking seniors considered pure nonsense. The Rebellion was a political situation and not a major military conflict - how could they possibly pose any danger to the Starfleet. All the persons involved in the development of the TIE Heavy Bomber were soon retired from active duty. Sadly the project leader Commodore Korin Maxus took his life after this humiliating incident. The project and the TIE Heavy Bomber production were immediately closed down.
But 3 months later, just after the destruction of the Imperial I Death Star at Yavin, the group was in all haste ordered back to R&D. They should continue their development of heavy assault TIE bombers. If possible they should develop an even heavier bomber.

TIE Interdictor

Model: TIE/int Bomber

Manufacturer: Sienar Fleet Systems

Designation: Heavy Short Range Bomber

Length: 7.8 meters

Crew: 1

Cargo Capacity: 60 metric tons (bomb bay)

Consumables: 2 days

Speed: 80 MGLT

Hull: 38 RU

Weapons: 2 Laser Cannons, 8 Concussion Missile Launchers and 4 Proton Torpedo, Orbital Thermal Detonator Launchers or Mine.

---
Image (http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b184/Upum/Star%20Wars/tie_interdictor.jpg)
---
The next enhanced TIE Bomber model, after the TIE Heavy Bomber, became the TIE/int. This enhanced bomber has the same basic features but nearly four times the firepower of the TIE Bomber. The propulsion engine is also in this model upgraded to compensate for the added mass, thereby giving it the speed of the standard TIE Bomber. This is one of the most powerful fighters in the Imperial arsenal. Carrying 12 warhead launchers with a total of 48 Missiles and 16 Torpedoes, 16 Proximity Mines or 72 free falling Thermal Detonators.

Still the TIE Interdictor is a vulnerable target and most be escorted into battle by a minimum of 4 TIE Fighters or Interceptors. To cut down production prize Naval R&D has chosen not to equip the TIE Interdictor with a shield generator. But in battles it has shown that the heavy bomber has been a target of intensive aggression. The enemies fear the TIE Interdictor to such an extent that they concentrate much of their firepower towards it, in the hope of bringing it down before it can launch its deadly warheads. Mostly this diversion of fire is only in the Empires favor, as the other involved strike craft gets much easier attack runs with minimal resistance. But the TIE Interdictor is because of this not a favored craft among bomber pilots. Many would rather prefer to battle in a standard TIE/bm Bomber. But it has not yet been a problem to recruit TIE Interdictor pilots as the model is not produced in large quantities and is only deployed in "special" operations with high priority.

In the years between the Imperial I and Imperial II Death Stars, the forces of Lord Darth Vader, in his quest to bring down the Rebel forces, frequently used the TIE Interdictor. But since that time and after the development of the TIE Scimitar Assault Bomber, the TIE Interdictor has nearly gone out of production. Nevertheless, few fleets still order and conduct operations with TIE Interdictor.

TIE Shuttle Craft

Model: TIE/sh Shuttle Craft

Manufacturer: Sienar Fleet Systems

Designation: Short Range Shuttle Craft

Length: 7.8 meters

Crew: 1

Troops: 2 (priority personnel)

Cargo Capacity: 17 + 1 metric tons (passenger pod + cargo space)

Consumables: 2 days

Speed: 90 MGLT

Hull: 28 RU

Weapons: 1 Laser Cannon

---

---
The first offshoot of the Bomber was a simple, short-range shuttle to replace the TIE/ts Fighter. It is little more than a TIE Bomber, with the weapons targeting systems removed, and the weapons drum replaced with a pair of passenger seats, and enough room for a cubic meter cargo. While the seating is not overly luxurious, it really isn't a problem for intra-fleet transportation. The passenger seats are on a removable pallet, allowing them to be removed to make way for a fairly large cargo for such a small craft (roughly 17 tons), or for a pair of spacetroopers or a short squad of navy troopers or stormtroopers who must stand. Eventually, it is planned that each Imperator Class Star Destroyer will carry 2 of these craft.

The ill-fated Captain Needa was carried to Lord Vader's Super Class Star Destroyer Executor from he's Imperator Class Star Destroyer Avenger in a TIE Shuttle Craft.

TIE Bomber Trainer

Model: TIE/bmt Bomber Trainer

Manufacturer: Sienar Fleet Systems

Designation: Short Range Trainer/Shuttle Craft

Length: 7.8 meters

Crew: 1

Troops: 1 (trainer or priority personnel)

Cargo Capacity: 15 metric tons (bomb bay)

Consumables: 1 day

Speed: 80 MGLT

Hull: 28 RU

Weapons: 2 Laser Cannons, 1 Concussion Missile Launchers and 1 Proton Torpedo, Orbital Thermal Detonator Launcher or Mine.

---
The TIE Bomber Trainer is a "modified" version of the original TIE Bomber. Just behind the pilot's seat, an extra (very cramped) seat for an instructor pilot is installed. From this place the instructor can monitor the cadets flying abilities and take over control of the craft if necessary. The TIE Bomber Trainer can also serve as a short-range priority personnel shuttle in emergency situations.

TIE Landing Craft

Model: TIE/lc Landing Craft

Manufacturer: Sienar Fleet Systems

Designation: Short Range Landing Craft

Length: 7.8 meters

Crew: 2

Troops: 18

Cargo Capacity: 500 kilograms (+ 17 metric tons if no troopers are carried)

Consumables: 1 day

Speed: 80 MGLT

Hull: 28 RU

Weapons: 1 Laser Cannon

---
http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b184/Upum/Star%20Wars/tie_landing_craft.jpg
---
The TIE Landing Craft, or TIE Lander is a more specialized version of the TIE Shuttle Craft. The TIE Landing Craft has an additional pod mounted on the underside of the basic TIE Bomber hull. The solar panels are also a bit larger, but otherwise, the craft is almost identical to the TIE Shuttle Craft. The TIE Landing Craft is typically used to quickly deploy a small number of ground troops into a combat zone without presenting a large target profile for the delivering ship. The TIE Landing Craft is also used to deploy a large scouting party, or Tech crew without the need of more specialized craft. TIE Landing Crafts are fairly common throughout the Imperial Fleet.

TIE Interceptor

Model: TIE/in Fighter

Manufacturer: Sienar Fleet Systems

Designation: Short Range Superiority Fighter

Length: 6.6 meters

Crew: 1

Cargo Capacity: 75 kilograms

Consumables: 2 days

Speed: 111 MGLT

Hull: 16 RU

Weapons: 4 Laser Cannons

Image (http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b184/Upum/Star%20Wars/tie_fighter_big.jpg)
---
Shortly before the series of events culminating in the Battle of Yavin, members of the Imperial pilot corps demanded an improved fighter to counter the new Rebel X-Wing. Using data gathered from combat sensor recordings of Rebel fighters and experience with the TIE X series, Sienar Fleet Systems designed several new fighters. The best known, most common and most popular of these is the TIE Interceptor.

The TIE Interceptor is 11% faster than the TIE/ln Fighter, and has a stronger hull. It still retains the command module of the TIE Fighter series, but with several improvements, including a new ion stream projection system, with nearly twice the range of maneuvering. The solar panels are not as tall, but have been elongated, with cutouts made in the wings for pilot visibility. This "dagger" profile has the added advantage of being more intimidating. At the tip of each "dag" there is a laser cannon, giving the TIE Interceptor firepower comparable to the X-Wing, and the improved fire control software makes it just as accurate. The hard points found on the TIE Fighter series are still there, and could be fitted with additional weapons if a more powerful generator, or supplemental generators, were installed.

Introduced just a few months after the Battle of Yavin, the TIE Interceptor was a common sight within a year, and composed 20% of the combat Ties in service by the time of the Battle of Endor. The basic design is highly versatile and served as the basis for the TIE Defender and TIE Advanced. It is expected that when numbers are sufficient, the TIE Interceptor will replace the TIE/ln Fighter in Imperial front-line service.

---
The TIE Advanced is often described as a cross between the TIE X1/X2 and the TIE Interceptor. In reality, it is an improvement over both of them. Combining heavy firepower, high speeds, a strong hull, shields and a hyperdrive, this ship is a suitable successor to all of its parents. It is equipped with four laser cannons and a pair of general-purpose launchers and is very maneuverable. The TIE Advanced was used in series of classified campaigns to prevent pre-Endor warlordism from shattering the Empire. This is why the Empire never brought more of these forces into the search for the Rebel Fleet after the Battle of Hoth. The TIE Advanced is nicknamed "TIE Avenger", because this craft was the TIE pilot’s vehicle for revenge against the hated X-Wing and A-Wing space superiority fighters.

The TIE V38, or TIE Sentinel fighter design is well known by citizens in the Galactic Empire but most of all for its modified cloaked variant. The basic hull, engine and wing configurations are the same as those on the TIE Phantom. The weapon configuration on the TIE V38 Assault Fighter is slightly different, with its tree laser cannons mounted on each wing tip instead of on the cockpit chin. The Empire decided not to order the TIE V38 Starfighers in large quantities, citing the excessive cost and limited weapons configuration.

After the battle of Yavin and the destruction of the Death Star, the Rebels proved that they were a serious threat to the Empire. The Empire forced to take that threat seriously, responded with new technology and weapons such as the Dark Trooper project and the TIE Phantom. The TIE Phantom research, under the direction of Admiral Sarn, was conducted in the Dreighton Nebula. The Nebula, a site of a major battle in the Old Republic was rumored to be haunted and the source of ships mysteriously disappearing. This provided perfect cover for development of a top-secret stealth starfighter.

The TIE Phantom packs slightly above normal firepower for a starfighter of its class. However the main improvement of the ship was a cloaking device. With the stealth shield in place, short and long-range delectability of the ship was almost nonexistent. Should the Phantom have gone into wide production, the Empire would certainly have had the upper hand.

Sigma Squadron, the first wave of these deadly TIE fighters, came within mere hours of launch before the construction facility on Imdaar Alpha was destroyed, along with the Empire's stockpile of the ship. Admiral Sarn's command ship, the Super Star Destroyer Terror was also eliminated along with the base. The admiral was retired from active duty personally by Lord Vader. The Rebel strike team, commanded by Ru Murleen captured one of the precious vessels, but the fighter was destroyed at a rebel base due to Imperial security fail-safe measures.

Designed by the traitorous Admiral Zaarin, former head of Imperial R&D, the TIE Defender is an exceptional starfighter by the fact that not only does it have shields, but is hyperspace capable and has a small load of warheads in addition to the standard boosted laser cannons and ion cannons. The sleek power of the TIE Defender surpasses anything the Empire has to offer, with firepower superior to the TIE Advanced, and more powerful engines than any Rebels starfighter. It is truly a force to be reckoned with. The TIE Defender has a distinctive look, due to the three solar panel configuration, one at 120 degrees from another. The Defender is unlikely to see widespread use, mainly due to the losses during Zaarin's attacks against the Empire and the loss of vital Imperial starfighter production facilities. But few of these ships are still produced and placed in active service for the Imperial Navy.

---
The TIE Scimitar is named after the Scimitar Assault Wing, one of the most highly decorated TIE Bomber ground assault units in the Empire, who are reportedly responsible for it's design. The Scimitar actually uses a single ion engine, but it is still faster than the TIE Bomber. The pilot has been joined by a bombardier/co-pilot, and both are housed in a detachable cockpit module which has it's own life support and power supply, increasing crew survivability. The Scimitar adds a repulsorlift engine, and is specifically intended to support ground forces and attack surface targets, rather than space assaults (which it also has been used for). It has a similar weapons load to the TIE Bomber, but uses a simpler weapons mount. The entire underside of the fuselage may be opened for weapons release, and the drum is driven from a center mounted spindle, rather than the overly complicated, mounted gears of the Bomber. This entire system may be lowered free, allowing the weapons drum to be slid off of the spindle, improving the speed of reloading (particularly in forward areas), and allowing a single TIE Scimitar to function as a scout ship with a target designator and defensive jammers mounted on a special drum.

While the TIE Scimitar Assault Bomber is the only Scimitar ship to have been placed into production, an escort fighter, an interceptor and a heavy bomber have all been designed based off of this basic model. With the development of the TIE Avenger and TIE Defender it is unlikely that these other fighters will ever see the light of day.

TIE Droid

Model: TIE/d Fighter

Manufacturer: Sienar Fleet Systems

Designation: Short Range Automated Fighter

These pilotless TIE Droid unit fighters run by onboard droids, designed by Arndall Lott following the Battle of Endor. Lott used the Katana fleet as an inspiration, seeing that the automated systems could work if implemented correctly. Lott originally automated the AT-AT Walkers, but his early work suffered from lack of computer power.

The TIE Droids have received the best automation the Empire can afford, and they can be used as independent fighters or computer-slaved squadrons. However, the initial TIE Droids are not very powerful, and are only effective in large numbers. The TIE Droid measures 6,1 meters, and resembles the center section of a TIE Fighter with squared-off TIE Interceptor-like wings, which were flat and tilted.

A TIE Droid is armed with a pair of laser cannons, and lacks a hyperdrive. A Cybot Galactica Ace-6 combat droid brain is the heart of the ship, but is shown to be greatly inferior to many human pilots. The TIE Droid, although produced in large volumes to overwhelm New Republic starfighters, were originally produced by the nuclear furnaces and factories of World Devastators.

TIE Raptor

Model: TIE/rpt Fighter

Manufacturer: Sienar Fleet Systems / Zsinj Development Incorporated

Designation: Short Range Assault Fighter

Length: 6.8 meters

This starfighter was designed and mass-produced by engineers working under the command of a great Imperial warlord. The name of this Imperial Leader was Zsinj. He was a fine officer and able to firmly entrench in over a third of the known galaxy, bringing peace and order to all the rebellious and terrorized words in the liberated sectors. The TIE Raptor, or TIE/rpt looks like an eyeball with four photocells covered half-octagon wings sticking outwards. The starfighter has a very strong hull, compared to the standard TIE/ln, but does not carry any form of energy shielding. It is believed Warlord Zsinj created a number of TIE/rpt prototypes with shields.

The first TIE Raptor models were actually droid fighters, just like the TIE Droid. In combat they were paired with human-piloted TIE Interceptors, a combination that allowed the humans to lead and the droids to follow in their wake. They could then make up for any piloting mistakes the humans made. They would have found more widespread usage in the Imperial Navy if they weren't soundly defeated in dogfights during the Battle of Selaggis. The TIE/rpt was eventually modified for flight by a living pilot, shortly before Zsinj's final defeat at the planet Dathomir in the Quelii system.

This ship has not been manufactured since the Zsinj Development Incorporated shutdown, but some starfighters of this class still se active service in the Imperial Navy.

Death Star Defender

Model: Death Star Defender

Manufacturer: CPG Space Products

Designation: Short Range Superiority Fighter

Length: 5 meters

Cargo Capacity: 50 kilograms

Consumables: 1 week

Speed: 110 MGLT (90 MGLT with attack positioned wings)

Hull: 7 RU

Shields: 10 SBD

Special Features: Adjustable Attack Wing design.

Weapons: 2 Laser Cannons

---
The Death Star Defender is produced by CPG Space Products. A company best known for its civilian products. CPG Products was the inventor of the fairly known ATL Interceptor, an air to land fighter with formidable qualities, but still to weak in firepower for Imperial standards. ATL Interceptors are only armed with 1 laser cannon. In the years following the Imperialization of the galaxy, the space flight capable ATL Interceptor was a widely spread fighter among planetary forces and galactic trading companies. This was mostly due to the cost of only 80.000 credits per fighter, but they where also easy to repair and could be fitted with a class 3 hyperdrive for only 10.000 credits extra. The ATL interceptor has a cruising speed of 100 MegaLights (1200 km/h) and an attack speed of 90 MegaLights (1080 km/h).

When the Empire began constructing the Imperial I Death Star the designers was determined to give it a fighter support of minimum 100 Imperial starfighter wings; 7200 fighters. They where to be used as close support for the gigantic battle station and in planetary operations as well. Some engineers wanted the fighters attached to the Death Star to be more durable than the standard TIE Fighters, and started looking for and testing other space superiority fighter models. The ATL Interceptor had most of the qualities the Empire was looking for but some modifications had to be made. CPG Space Products came up with the Death Star Defender, an upgraded fighter faster than the ATL Interceptor and with superior firepower. The engineers were pleased with the new design and Imperial Naval Command warned CPG Space Products about a short notice major order of 7200 Death Star Defenders. CPG Space Products was thrilled with the upcoming order and began producing the Death Star Defenders in mass quantities even though the order was not in place. But soon after Imperial Naval Command ordered the Death Star to carry Sienar Fleet Systems TIE Fighters as standard defense fighters. This decision was based on classified reasons.

Since then the Death Star Defender has only been used in limited numbers by the Imperial Navy. Mostly on smaller installations and ground based bases on Outer Rim planets. The Death Star Defender has a cost of 95.000 credits and is sold to Imperial Forces only.

http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b184/Upum/Star%20Wars/newtoscan1.jpg
---
The Toscan Fighter was one of the first advanced space superiority fighters manufactured by Sienar Fleet Systems for use in the Imperial Navy. This craft is slower and less maneuverable than the Rebels X-Wing, but it has a superior shielding and firepower that makes it overall tougher. It can however, despite of it poor maneuverability, easily outmaneuver the B-Wing starfighter. The Toscan Fighter employs a cockpit manufactured by Koensayr. This company can boast having components in nearly a fifth of all starships produced in the known Galaxy.

The Toscan Fighter is an excellent fighter, but due to its high cost, Naval Command has chosen not to purchase these craft in large quantities. The advanced fighters of the TIE series are cheaper to produce and much more popular with Imperial pilots. Many allies of the Empire though, such as the former Xizor Transport Systems Company, use the Toscan Fighter as their standard fleet fighters.

Imperial Shuttle Pod

Model: ISP-6

Manufacturer: Cygnus Spaceworks

Designation: Short Range Fighter/Shuttle

Length: 4 meters

Crew: 1

Cargo Capacity: 100 kilograms

Consumables: 1 week

Speed: 70 MGLT

Hull: 5 RU

Shields: 5 SBD

Special Features: Adjustable stabilizer fins.

Weapons: 2 Blaster Cannons

---
The Imperial Shuttle Pod, or ISP-6, is one of the smallest fighters used by the Empire. It is designed and built by Cygnus Spaceworks, the developer of the beautiful Lambda Class T-4a Imperial Shuttle. The first of these models where introduced years before the Battle of Yavin and long before the well-known Star Wing Assault Gunboat. Production of the first Imperial Shuttle Pods started while Sienar Fleet Systems were mass-producing the old TIE Fighters for the Empire's forces.

Maybe Cygnus Spaceworks wanted their share of the Imperial spacefighter marked. Cygnus was selling the ISP for 1/2 the price of a TIE Fighter, but it was still not possible for the company to compete with Sienar Fleet Systems. Sienar Fleet Systems soon bought op Cygnus Spaceworks and started the "cooperation" that still exists today. Now the TIE market has been unmatched for several decades.

The Imperial Shuttle Pod was sold to some parts of the Imperial Navy and still se active service. But the Army uses the fighter to a much higher extend. Even though it has a life support system and is more durable all together, compared to the TIE Fighter, it is not Imperial pilots preferred spacefighter. The ISP has 2 blaster cannons with firepower equaling 1 TIE Fighter Laser Cannon. It has a speed 30% slower than the TIE/ln and the X-Wing fighter. Still Naval Command orders the starfigther in small quantities.

Alpha-Class XG-1 Star Wing

Model: Alpha-Class XG-1 Star Wing

Manufacturer: Cygnus Spaceworks

Designation: Assault Starfighter/Gunboat

Length: 15 meters

Crew: 1

Cargo Capacity: 50 kilograms

Consumables: 1 week

Hyperdrive Multiplier: x1

Speed: 90 MGLT

Hull: 28 RU

Shields: 100 SBD

Special Features: Five-wing design adjustable to various conditions.

Weapons: 2 Laser Cannons, 2 Ion Cannons and 2 Concussion Missile Launchers.

---
After the development of the beautiful Lambda Class T-4a Imperial Shuttle, the Empire awarded Cygnus Spaceworks a contract to develop an assault fighter. The Alpha XG-1 Star Wing was the result. Due to its unique five-wing design, the Star Wing, or Assault Gunboat is at home in either vacuum or atmosphere. The wing design can easily adjust to many conditions, thanks in part to a revolutionary computer system by Miradyne.

The Star Wing was designed for offensive strike missions against convoy craft and fleet vessels. Its firepower and heavy shielding make it ideal for escort roles as well, and as an assault vehicle in conjunction with an assault transport, it is unmatched. Because of its fast hyperdrive the Gunboat also perform scouting duties for larger capital ships or entire ship lines.

The Star Wing became quite popular among its pilots and production grew to the point where most Imperator Class Star Destroyers were equipped with five Assault Gunboats. The Assault Gunboat was also the base design for the Gamma Class XM-1 Missile Boat, which would play a vital role in the year or so before the Battle of Endor against the Imperial traitor Admiral Zaarin.

Gamma-Class XM-1 Missile Boat

Model: Gamma-Class XM-1 Mark 1 and Mark 2 Missile Boat

Manufacturer: Cygnus Spaceworks\

Designation: Assault Starfighter/Missile boat

Length: 15 meters

Crew: 1

Cargo Capacity: 40 kilograms

Consumables: 1 week

Hyperdrive Multiplier: x1

Speed: 122 MGLT (Speed doubles when SLAM system is used)
Hull: 19 RU

Shields: 120 SBD

Special Features: Sub-Light Acceleration Motor (SLAM System).

Weapons: 1 Laser Cannon, 2 Concussion Missile Launchers (20 missiles each) and 2 General Purpose Launchers.

---
The Missile Boat was the result of a design created by Grand Admiral Thrawn and Cygnus Spaceworks to compete with the TIE Defenders owned by the traitor Admiral Zaarin. The design was strongly based on the Cygnus Spaceworks Assault Gunboat with the idea in mind of achieving superiority over the TIE Defender through use of speed and overwhelming firepower.

The Gamma Class XM-1 Missile Boat is an extremely maneuverable and fast fighter. Speed can be increased by up to 100% by a revolutionary engine technology developed by the Empire called the SLAM system or Sub-Light Acceleration Motor System. Simply put, it operates by drawing immense amounts of energy from the laser cannon to the propulsion engine. Since the Missile Boat has only one laser cannon, this energy does not last very long, but it allows the fighter to achieve speeds in excess of 244 MGLT.

Truly the most impressive and devastating feature of the Gamma Class XM-1 Missile Boat is its firepower. The missile boat has two dedicated advanced concussion missile launchers that can hold up to 20 missiles each. Two general-purpose warhead launchers are also installed on the fighter and can carry an equal capacity of concussion missiles, or 30 proton torpedoes, or 20 heavy proton rockets, or ten heavy concussion bombs.

A-9 Vigilance Interceptor

Model: A-9 Vigilance

Manufacturer: Kuat Drive Yards

Designation: Short Range Fighter

Length: 7.4 meters

Crew: 1

Cargo Capacity: 55 kilograms

Consumables: 1 day

Speed: 115 MGLT

Hull: 16 RU

Weapons: 2 Laser Cannons

---
http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b184/Upum/Star%20Wars/a9_vigilance.gif
---
The A-9 Vigilance Interceptor is Kuat Drive Yard's crack at the Imperial fighter market. The A-9 Vigilance is a sleek, stripped down fighter. Like other Imperial models, it lacks both hyperdrive and shields to cut all extraneous mass. In addition, it pares down the hull and escape systems. This spacefighter has no ejection system but does carry life-support systems. Reduced cockpit complexity makes the A-9 Vigilance one of the easiest fighters to learn. The A-9 Vigilance is a very small craft, trading off mass for maneuverability, making it popular with elite pilot corps. The fighter's weaponry incorporates 2 laser cannons that can be fired independently or linked.

Kuat Drive Yards produced prototypes of the A-9 Vigilance before the Battle of Endor, but the death of the Emperor and the deterioration of the Empire limited the potential market for the fighters. Thus, they were not produced in any significant quantity until the resurrected Emperor Palpatine came to power.

I-7 Howlrunner

Model: I-7 Howlrunner

Manufacturer: Incom Corporation

Designation: Short Range Fighter

Length: 11.4 meters

Crew: 1

Cargo Capacity: 80 kilograms

Speed: 105 MGLT

Hull: 14 RU

Shields: 50 SBD

Weapons: 2 Laser Cannons

---
http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b184/Upum/Star%20Wars/howl.jpg
---
The I-7 Howlrunner has been nicknamed for the Kamarian Howlrunner. The short range I-7 Howlrunner has a streamlined, fixed wing design (it resembles a streamlined T-47 airspeeder in shape) and is at home in deep space and planetary atmospheres. Unlike most Imperial fighters, the I-7 Howlrunner has dedicated shield generators, giving the ship the ability to take as much punishment as the Rebels X-Wing.

The ship's low mass gives it excellent maneuverability, meaning that an I-7 Howlrunner can decimate a heavy assault ship such as a B-Wing in a head-to-head battle. The ship measures 11.4 meters in length, and is armed with a pair of laser cannons. It is the first major starfighter design to come from the nationalized Incom Corporation, in response to the Kuat Drive Yards A-9 Vigilance Interceptor and the FreiTek E-Wing.

Preybird-Class Starfighter

Model: Preybird-Class Starfighter

Manufacturer: SoroSuub Corporation / Cavrilhu Shipyards

Designation: Heavy Assault Starfighter

Length: 21 meters

Crew: 1

Cargo Capacity: 15 kilograms

Consumables: 4 days

Hyperdrive Multiplier: x3

Speed: 100 MGLT

Hull: 18 RU

Shields: 46 SBD

Weapons: 2 Laser Cannons and 2 Concussion Missile Launchers.

---
Not originally intended to be used in the Imperial Starfleet, the Preybird was produced in extremely limited quantities. SoroSuub shut the project down after producing only a few thousand of these ships. But the design was at the year 48 After Emperor Palpatine's rise to power, picked up by the Loyal Imperialist Moff Disra.

The Imperial Moff, who was like all of the other so called Imperial Warlords struggling to rebuild the Galactic Empire in a time of crisis, turned to the Cavrilhu with the Preybird Class Starfighter design. He was in the need of an overall tougher starfighter than the TIE fighters already in his fleet. TIE Fighters were fairly expensive to repair or replace after space battles, especially when Imperial Navy funds were running low. The Cavrilhu (a civilian space based company) began mass-producing the ships for Moff Disra, who bypassed normal Imperial channels to fund the ships. Over time, the Preybird eventually replaced the TIE fighter in numerous Imperial fleets.

At this time only few of these ships are still in Imperial service. The Empire, now again a fully functional government, has no problem supplying all the TIE series fighters the Imperial Navy requires.

SHD-66 Shadow Droid Fighter

Model: SHD-66 Shadow Droid

Manufacturer: Byss Worx / Imperial Department of Military Research

Designation: Short Range Cyborg Assault Fighter

Length: 2.8 meters

Crew: Cyborg brain

Cargo Capacity: 1 metric ton

Consumables: 2 days

Speed: 100 MGLT

Hull: 25 RU

Shields: 100 SBD

Weapons: 2 Laser Cannons, 4 Blaster Cannons, 1 Ion Cannon, 1 Electromagnetic Pulse Gun, 1 Concussion Missile Launcher (12 missiles) and 1 Proton torpedo launcher (8 torpedoes).

---
This was one of the Empires most secret projects for some time. The Byss Worx SHD-66 Shadow Droid Cyborg assault fighter is an extremely deadly weapon for its small size, sporting almost as much raw firepower as some blast & missile boats developed in the earlier days of the Empire. These machines are cybernetic starfighters piloted by surgically implanted organic brains of incapacitated TIE fighter Pilots. The precious brains are very carefully biologically maintained in nutrient baths.

For many civilians in the Galactic Empire, these Cyborg Starfighters and the technology that they carry may seem very horrifying or revolting. Some people would also say that they feel sorry for the pilots whose brains are now connected to a military tactical computer. But these civilians are not aware of the great honor and pride that many Imperial TIE Fighter Pilots see in serving the Galactic Empire, even beyond their own deaths. It is only the best Imperial Pilots who, by their own free will of course, can ever get this fine opportunity to fly the Shadow Droid. The Starfighter is designed by the Emperor him self and the famous Imperial engineer Umak Leth.

Shadow Droids were officially introduced into the Battle of Balmorra and have since been stationed in the hanger bays of some of the more well known Star Destroyers cruising the Known Galaxy.

---
Blastboats are assault gunships used by the Empire. They are larger and far more powerful than starfighters but are small enough to be carried onboard capital ships. The most prominent line of blastboat is the Sienar Fleet Systems GAT series, which includes the 12h, the 12i, and the 12j models.

The 12h was released shortly before the destruction of the first Death Star, while the 12j upgrade was released only weeks after the death of Emperor Palpatine. Its most significant additions are larger ammunition bays for the proton-torpedo and concussion-missile launchers, increasing the capacity to twelve torpedoes and eighteen missiles, respectively.
When the Empire chose not to purchase the Gat-12h Skipray in large quantities, Sienar Fleet Systems began to sell the ships on the open market, so many can be found in corporate, mercenary, pirate, and smuggler fleets.

The ships are only twenty-five meters long yet have an incredible weapon array, including three capital ship medium ion cannons, a proton-torpedo launcher, two laser cannons, and a concussion-missile launcher. The ion cannons gives the Skipray a reasonable chance of disabling larger combat ships. The hull plating is so heavy that most starfighter lasers would have a tough time penetrating the armor, making the ship impervious to all but the most powerful fighter weapons.

The Skipray's ventral and dorsal stabilizer fin assist the ship’s atmospheric flight and rotates 180 degrees to a horizontal landing configuration. Blastboats are more maneuverable in atmosphere than in vacuum, and have a top atmospheric speed of 1,200 kilometers per hour. Skiprays are equipped with hyperdrives and a nav computer, allowing them to operate independently of larger base ships.

The Skipray normally carries a crew of four: the pilot, the copilot and sensor officer, and two gunnery officers. In an emergency, a single person can fly the vessel. Blastboats are used for system patrol duty, point defense, or fire support for larger capital ships. They are normally deployed in pairs so that the ships can cover each other. Imperial commanders know that they can send these ships into the middle of a battle and expect them to come back.

Silviut Corporation built this Imperial shuttle after the tragic death of Grand Admiral Thrawn. A sleek, fast, and highly maneuverable ship, the Svelte-Class Shuttle was beetle-shaped and coated with gloss black plating. Measuring 17 meters in length, it requires a pilot and co-pilot, 4 gunners, and it can accommodate 15 passengers. The wings of the Svelte-Class Shuttle can be raised, and they serve a similar function as the fins of the Lambda-Class Shuttle. The shuttle is armed with a pair of double blaster cannons and a pair of laser cannons. The Svelte class shuttles are also equipped with hyperdrive engines.

The Lambda-Class Shuttles were first designed by Sienar Fleet Systems as a government transport. Eventually a subcontract has been awarded to Cygnus Spaceworks to produce a much more heavily armed version for military use.
The Lambda-Class T-4a Shuttle (sometimes referred to as the "Imperial Shuttle") looks much like an inverted Y. The tri-wing assembly and large surface area makes it excellent for atmospheric use even though it is designed for space travel. And while the large upper stabilizer fin is fixed and static, the port and starboard wings raise to a vertical position when landing and vise-versa when taking off. Boarding is made possible by a telescoping ramp that extends from the lower forward fuselage.

It turned out that Emperor Palpatine took a personal liking to the Imperial Shuttle and he had one equipped with a cloaking device. The stolen Imperial Shuttle, Tydirium, was used just before the Battle of Endor to transport the Rebel agent Han Solo and a Rebel terrorist group to the surface of the Endor moon where they sabotaged and destroyed the shield generator protecting the Empire's Death Star II the next day.

The Delta-Class JV-7 "Escort Shuttle" was designed to carry the most valuable cargo - our highest-ranking officers and diplomatic personnel - through areas of extreme danger. The Shuttle's wings are bent forward, and it is much more heavily armed than the Lambda-Class T-4a Shuttle. The Escort Shuttle may also be deployed for perimeter patrol and as a support craft for missions involving the Lambda-Class T-4a Shuttle. The most important weapon aboard the Escort Shuttle is the rear-mounted turbolaser turret, which has taken many enemy craft by surprise.

The JV-7 fulfills its mission parameters with maximum efficiency and has become invaluable in protecting small convoys from Rebels and pirates alike. Unfortunately a number of Imperial JV-7 shuttles have been stolen and captured and are now being used by both pirates and the Rebel Alliance.

There is a standard of one or two Builder Shuttles onboard every ISD. The Craft's main purpose is to deploy prefabricated building and parts for Imperial Army Garrisons. It can carry everything from anti-infantry laser turrets to command center buildings, which is the main and largest building of an Imperial Garrison. The Builder Shuttle descends from space and drops off completely manufactured buildings. The modular building technique used to build Imperial army bases, reflects the linear thinking that is the Imperial trademark.

The newest model of this ship from Cygnus Spaceworks, the Builder Shuttle Mark 2, is equipped for a more universal role. Beside the lifter arms cargo carrying capability, it can transport up to 400 metric tons of cargo in a large cargo hold, placed in the middle of the shuttle. The newer model is also equipped with a class 1 hyperdrive unit. This makes the ship a most formidable container transporter, to be used in deep space operations. Even though it still needs some sort of armed escort, to prevent pirate and Rebel attacks, it is a much faster and cheaper way to transport lager bodies through hyperspace. It can even be used in deep space rescue missions or fast "Grab and Run" missions.

The Sentinel-Class landing Craft is a primary Imperial landing craft that was derived from the Lambda-Class shuttle. As in the standard Lambda design, the ship features a stationary top wing with two folding lower wings. The Sentinel has a larger cargo area, and it is heavily armed and armored to enter combat.

The Sentinel shuttle has a command crew of five, including the pilot, the copilot/sensor officer, the head gunner, and two secondary gunners. The head gunner handles the four retractable laser cannons mounted in pairs on each side of the main troop compartment. One gunner handles the two concussion missile launchers, which draw from individual magazines of eight missiles each. The final gunner handles the ion cannon and rotating repeating blasters. The ion cannon is mounted on a retractable turret in front of the stationary wing and is used to delay and disable enemy vessels. Rotating repeating blasters are deployed upon landing to provide covering fire.

The ship's combat modifications can include armor plating that is nearly 25 percent heavier than standard Lambda armor. Four deflector shield generators, mounted fore and aft in pairs, supplement the hull's protection. Cygnus HD7 engines that match those found aboard Imperial Alpha-Class XG-1 Star Wing allow the ship to reach atmospheric speeds of 1,000 kilometers per hour, while sublight speed is roughly equivalent to that of the Alliance's Y-Wing starfighter. The Cygnus HD7 hyperdrive unit gives the ship a Class One hyperdrive rating, matching the original Lambda's hyperdrive speed, despite the heavier armor.

The ship's troop compartment can carry six squads, for a total of 54 soldiers. The hold behind the troop compartment has room for a dozen repeating blasters as well as six speeder bikes. The Sentinel's removable seating units allow the ship to be converted quickly to a straight combat vehicle delivery vessel or to a combat-ready cargo ship. In this mode, the landing craft can carry three-dozen speeder bikes or a dozen compact assault vehicles.

Each Sentinel landing craft is equipped with a reconnaissance speeder bike with a slaved communications terminal; the comm. frequency is randomly determined before each mission to prevent opposing techs from intercepting transmissions. The Sentinel-Class Landing Craft also has a full comm. array for standard fleet and ground-unit communications.

These ships are used for rapid transport of ground troops from ship to planet during combined assaults. Deploying an entire Army Trooper Company in battle. They serve double duty as cargo vessels and shuttlecraft when not in service as transport for assault troops.

Although the MT/191 can approach a planet normally, it is designed to drop in a rapid power dive to a planet's surface, landing in a controlled manner at the end of the fall. Before drop, the ship is covered with VACX, an ablative coating which raises the hull's resistance rating. By planet fall, the VACX has burned off.

The laser cannon is located directly above the cockpit. It is functional only when extruded from the ships body. The cannon is intended only to be a mild deterrent if needed during shuttle runs in combat zones, and is never in a ready position during drops.

The Incom Corporation, shortly before the company's Imperialization, developed the original Y-4s. Despite being a formidable craft, the Y-4s were slow to gain popularity in the Imperial Navy, primarily because of Incom's perceived "Rebel" leanings. Few years after the Battle of Endor, the Y-4 gained notoriety as the vessels of choice for the great Imperial Warlord Zsinj's elite warriors, the Raptors. The Y-4 gained the nickname "Raptor" in common parlance. The Rebel's Naval personnel have taken to calling them "Raptor Incubators." The shuttle is well suited to the Raptor attack pattern. It is designed to move fast and hit quickly. It quickly enters the atmosphere of the target world, disgorges its carried troops and vehicles, and provides aerial support for the Raptor's siege missions.

At 28 meters in length, the Y-4 is a small shuttle with a tall vertical profile. Atop its "spine" sits the bridge module, and halfway between the bridge and engine cluster is a dorsal-mounted laser cannon. The Y-4s can carry 40 troops and four AT-ST walkers, as well as smaller craft such as the PX-10 compact assault vehicle and speeder bikes. Built into the tall craft's flanks are three heavy-duty folding assault ramps that allow for debarkation of troops and vehicles.

The vessel requires a crew of one pilot and two main gunners. An astromech droid supplements the ship's nav computer. The vessel has maneuverability comparable to most space transports. In an atmosphere, a pair of gliding wings emerge from slots along the vessel's flanks to aid in maneuvers and emergency braking. The ship has a fire-linked set of double laser cannons set under the bridge. The chief gunnery officer controls these guns. The second gunnery officer controls the turret-mounted double laser cannons located on the ship's spine. Most Raptors have a concussion missile launcher housed just below the bridge. The Y-4 Raptors are protected by impressive shielding systems and strong hull plating. These protect the transports during high orbital drops and landing runs. A one-meter thick heat shield covers the Y-4s, with additional protection afforded by spray-on ablative coating.

The AT Barge or AT-AT Barge is a craft capable of carrying large units down to a planet's surface. They are found onboard Star Destroyers and other capital ships with hangers large enough to contain these huge space barges. An AT Barge lands on a battlefield, deploys the units, and quickly ascends back to the planets orbit. They are unarmed and very light armored. That's why they are very dependent on the units already ground based to find and secure safe landing sites.

There are 20 AT-AT Walkers and 30 AT-ST walkers onboard each ISD, but only 12 AT Barges. This means that during full scale ground assaults, the AT Barge crews have to work very quick. It takes a lot of training, but normally the AT Barge only have to be ground based for about 10-20 seconds, before returning to high orbit to pick up yet another set of ATs.
The AT Barge's cargo hold can contain many deferent types of military walkers and other vehicles. But here are some of the most common:

1 All Terrain Ultra-Heavy Transport (AT-UT) or

2 All Terrain Armored Transport (AT-AT) or

4 All Terrain Anti-Aircraft (AT-AA) or

6 All Terrain Scout Transport (AT-ST) or

28 All Terrain Personal Transport (AT-PT)

Developed by KonGar Ship Works and produced by KonGar and the Telgorn Corporation, the Gamma-Class ATR-6 was designed as a heavy assault transport for use in capturing, boarding, and destroying enemy vessels. Originally designed for the Empire, Assault Transports have now become available for all nations of the galaxy.

Based on the Beta-Class ETR-3 Transport and the Delta-Class Dx-9 Transport, the Assault Transport is heavily armed and can carry a large force of 60 stormtroopers. The warhead launchers can carry a large arsenal of proton torpedoes making it an excellent craft for use against capital starships. The turbolaser batteries are also quite deadly, particularly against starfighters. They are accurate and fire fairly rapidly.

Overall, the Gamma-Class ATR-6 Transport is a formidable weapon in the fight for peace and security in the galaxy.

A common Imperial system patrol craft, it is quite capable of handling common freighter and smuggler traffic, although it is totally outclassed when sent up against capital ships. These ships are common in lightly populated, isolated systems where the Empire needs to maintain a presence without underwriting the expense of assigning a larger vessel to patrol duty.

Built by Kuat Drive Yards, this 51 meter long craft is one of the smallest patrol ships used in the Imperial Starfleet. It was first introduced some years before the Battle of Endor. But even though it can take a lot of beating, it has gained little acceptance by Navy officers in its intended role as scouting and patrol craft for larger fleets and operations. Instead the Law-Class now mostly serve as customs and patrol craft in several star systems.

The Law-Class Patrol Craft only requires a crew of 4 to operate the ship, but needs 11 gunners to operate the 5 weapon stations. It has a brig able to accommodate 20 navy troopers if the mission profile demands it. In addition to the troops it can also transport up to 10 prisoners in a dedicated brig. The weapons complement consists of 4 laser cannons, of which 2 are front-mounted and 2 are turret-mounted, and 1 front-aimed proton torpedo tube.

Following the cowardly Destruction of Imperial I Death Star, Imperial commerce raiders and privateers has become as big a problem for the so-called "New Republic" as Rebel privateers and starfighter raids had been for the Galactic Empire. One of the most effective ships used by Imperial forces in this period is the Vibre-Class Assault Cruiser, designed specifically for privateering and introduced shortly before Mon Mothma's resignations as Chief of State. The Vibre typically uses its stealth equipment to sneak within strike range of larger Rebel capital ships, then pounds the prize with ion cannons and uses cutting lasers to open the other ship's hull. A squadron of Zero-G spacetroopers is then disgorged into the larger ship. They will then within minutes take control of it.

The Corellian Gunship is one of the few military ships designed and manufactured by the Corellian Engineering Corporation. It is relatively small, but carries a formidable amount of weaponry. This ship can easily win a battle against a frigate twice its size. However, because of its size, there is little space on board for cargo or even for its crewmembers. The Corellian Gunship is used as an escort vessel or patrol ship and is deployed in "Packs" of 2 or more.

The Corellians are known well for their versatile multipurpose starships. The Corellian Corvette is an excellent example and can easy function as either a troop transport, light escort, cargo or passenger carrier. Unlike most highly specialized vessels, the corvette is so easily modified to varying tasks that it is found throughout the galaxy.

As a transport ship, the Corellian Corvette has massive and highly adaptable internal holds capable of carrying anything from loads of grain and water to highly sensitive fuels. To protect this cargo, there are plenty of weapons hard points on the hull of the ship allowing it to support a variety of weapons types and configurations. This is one of the reasons why this craft is so popular among the Rebel and pirate scum.

As a passenger vessel, quarters can be installed of any comfort level from standard steerage to first-class. Corvettes were widely used as civilian passenger liners and colony ships. In the past 40 years, planetary colonization was made possible by the Corellian RC90 Corvette due to its versatility and the fact that colonists could not only transport themselves, but their equipment, livestock and building materials as well.

This Imperial starship design is used as a patrol ship in many of the outlying regions of the galaxy, and was developed just after the death of Grand Admiral Thrawn. Their primary armament consists of three quad laser cannons and three dual ion cannons. They can achieve 0.55 past lightspeed, and maintained six fighters within their bays.

Imperial regulations allow the officer and crew a prize share of captured smugglers and enemy ships, creating a tremendous incentive for attention to duty. One of the primary technological advances used in the Adz-Class Destroyer is the inclusion of an array of slave circuitry that allows a crew of 24 to handle virtually every system. At 150 meters in length, the Adz-Class patrol destroyer require 12 gunners and can transport up to 8 passengers and 4 prisoners in its brig.

Following the Battle of Yavin, Naval Command experienced an exaggerated but understanding case of phobia concerning Rebel starfighters. Some senior admirals argued that the Death Star's destruction was due to the lack of anti-starfighter screening vessels. Naval Command authorized the construction of the KDY Lancer-Class Frigate.

Gun for gun Lancers are the best anti-starfighter ships currently in service. The main and only armament of this ship carries 20 quad laser cannons. Each cannon is equipped with a targeting mechanism adapted from the one used in SFS TIE Bomber craft. This produces multi-fire cover with superb fire control. In addition, each gun is mounted on its own tower to provide an increased fire arc.

The Nebulon-B Escort Frigate is used to protect our convoys. The powerful weapons and shields on this ship, makes this vessel a formidable escort ship that makes the enemy think twice about attacking our convoys. These ships have several docking fixtures for light and medium freighters. Also the Nebulon-B has sophisticated sensors and deep space, multifrequency antennas, allowing them to function as long-range scouts or relay battle information to a command ship.

These ships were commissioned do to the Rebel Alliance's significant success in attacking Imperial convoys which happened early in the Rebellion. Since the Imperial Navy began assigning these vessels to escort duty, the rebels found it deadly attacking Imperial convoys. The rebels have now resorted to lightning fast hit and run tactics against our cargo or transport ships; even then they are taking great casualties because of the prolonged dogfights with the frigate's two TIE Starfighter squadrons, which are supported by the frigate's weapons.

The Nebulon-B2 Frigate is a modified version of the original Nebulon B design. The Nebulon B is designed to add protection via escort and patrol duties.

Designers at Kuat Drive Yards experimented with improving the Nebulon B, with minimal complication. KDY decided to brace two arm sections to the main fuselage, in an inverted V shape, as well as modifying the power plants and drive system. The extra arm added to the vessel allowed for a great deal more firepower, not to mention the capacity for extra cargo and troops.

The Modified frigate quickly saw a limited production run, and after the first few prototypes, It has been produced in larger numbers. The "Modified frigate" is built more for straight assault missions than escort duties, and with it's added firepower and increased shielding, it more than lives up to expectations. The "Modified Frigate" also carries a slightly larger number of starfighters and Light Transports.

KDY has also legitimately sold a few "Modified Frigates" to nations other than the Empire. Unlike the Nebulon-B, the B2 has was never been captured by the Rebellion or any other enemy of the Empire.

As more and more cargo freighters suffer capture and destruction at the hands op pirates and Rebels, the Empire decided to experiment with a new class of capital ship. This new vessel contains enough storage capacity to make it function as a transport ship, but also has the added benefit of sophisticated weaponry and shield. In essence, this vessel can serve as both transport and escort - simultaneously.

The Star Galleon-Class Frigate takes the place of two ships, thus saving the Empire credits. Previous Imperial transports were unarmed or lightly armed cargo ships that could not compete against starfighters or powerful capital ships. They needed the protection of escort frigates or some other type of combat craft.

The Star Galleon-Class Frigates can carry equivalent amounts of goods while protecting themselves from the ravagers of space lanes. A combination of concussion missiles and turbolaser cannons creates a decent fire perimeter. In addition, the vessels are designed to repel invaders intent on capturing their store of goods.

Up to 300 troopers are stationed aboard a Star Galleon-Class Frigate. The troopers, for example, can make use of fortress like emplacements that line the inner hallways and corridors from which to defend their ship. Individual sections can be sealed and held by the defenders, creating pockets within a Star Galleon-Class Frigate.

One of the more interesting features of a Star Galleon-Class Frigate is the cargo hold. Placed in the very center of the craft, the hold is actually a separate vessel that can detach and be jettisoned into hyperspace for collection at later time. A built-in homing device allows Imperial agents to track the hold as it randomly jumps across the hyperlanes.

This older model starship dates back from the time of the Old Republic. Specifically designed for the Starfleet as a cargo transport, the Galleon was one of the fastest heavy-duty cargo vessels in service. After the unavoidable fall of the Old Republic the Empire adopted the Galleon.

Because of the fast growing Imperial Army, and the greatest military buildup known history had ever seen, the Empire was in the need of large troop transporting vessels. The ships should be able to move entire army regiments across the galaxy, from one planet to another, within a small time limit. Imperial Naval Command decided to modify most of the old Galleons into troop transporters and Mesens Corporation later followed with a new line of Galleons, with the sole purpose of transporting up to two Imperial regiments.

The Empire was pleased for the moment, but soon they were in the need of more heavily shielded and armed transports. The new ships should be able to land and deploy troops directly into and during planetary battles. This was clearly a task the unarmed Galleon could not handle. Mesens Corporation soon followed with the introduction of the Imperial Assault Transport.

An old yet reliable ship in the Imperial fleet is the Damorian Manufacturing Corporation's Carrack-Class Cruiser. This vessel's 10 Heavy Turbolaser Batteries allow the Carrack to engage larger opponent with a reasonable chance of success. Backing up the heavy guns is a number of smaller laser cannons for point defense against starfighters and missiles. Refitted vessels have also been equipped with tractor beam projectors.

Layered bulkheads and compartmentalization, combined with a unique modular life support system, assures maximum crew survival in case of hull breechings. On numerous occasions, Imperial salvage craft have retrieved Carrack debris and found live crew members on board. These bulkheads also lend strength to the hull, allowing a Carrack to survive an attack that would destroy a similarly sized vessel.

Compartmentalization does have one major drawback, though. Such a defense system takes up an inordinate amount of space. As a result, the Carrack Class is one of the largest cruisers not equipped with internal hangar bays. Instead, each Carrack carries one TIE/ts and four TIE/rc Fighters docked on an external rack. These small ships are used for courier missions and scouting duty.

To compensate for the lack of starfighter support, Carrack cruisers are equipped with powerful engines that make them among the fastest of the Empire's capital ships.

Current doctrine teams these cruisers with smaller vessels and assigns them to patrol duty in pacified or semi-pacified sectors. They also serve as personal transports for important planetary governors and Moffs.

Loronar's Strike-Class Cruiser has been called the fleet's best kept secret. While every smuggler and Rebel knows to avoid Star Destroyers, the fighting capacity of a strike cruiser comes as quite a surprise to many.

Loronar has designed a vessel that can be mass-produced in a limited amount of time, due to the prefabricated nature of its component sections. Not only does this procedure reduce construction time, it also dramatically lowers the cost of each vessel.

Each strike cruiser can carry a company of troops, two AT-STs, and one AT-AT walker for ground assault missions. Its small, but functional, hangar bay houses one squadron of TIE Series Fighters.

Because of its modular design, a strike cruiser can be easily modified for specific missions. Some of those specialized vessels currently in service include prefab garrison deployers, troop transports, Starfighter launch platforms, heavy vehicle recovery, and planet assault vessels that can carry up to five walkers.

The need for a TIE escort carrier became apparent after the Battle of Ton-Falk. In that battle, two Imperial frigates and a Dreadnaught were lost due to, as Naval Command reported, "inadequate TIE support". Son the Navy commissioned Kuat Drive Yards to construct a vessel that would serve the specific function of carrying TIE fighters into battle.

The main duties of escort carriers are to augment the starfighter strength of the fleet they are attached to, and to transport non-hyperspace support shuttles from system to system. Box-like and inelegant in appearance, KDY's escort carrier performs these missions admirably.

Each carrier bases an entire TIE wing, of 72 fighters, in its cavernous bays. Imperial policy mandates that at least one TIE Bomber and two TIE Interceptor squadrons are included in the mix. Additional bays carries up to 6 Shuttles or Transports.
While carriers are equipped with protective weaponry, they are not considered combat vessels. They do not engage enemy targets and try to stay as far from the actual battle as possible.

Other missions that carries regularly perform include augmenting the power of Imperial garrison bases. While the garrison quells planetary problems, the carrier assumes a stationary position orbit over the planet. From this position, the carrier's TIE series fighters can blanket the world to provide support from above.

Introduced to the galaxy before the Clone Wars, the Dreadnaught-Class Heavy Cruiser was the largest mass-produced vessel of its time. In fact, these are among the oldest ships still seeing active service in some parts of the Empire.
Originally, the Navy had planned to phase out the Dreadnaught. Critics pointed out such flaws as slow speeds, weak shielding, inefficient power generators, low firepower, and high crew needs. Economics has won out though, so far, as the Navy has found it more cost-effective to refit these ships than to build totally new vessels.

Because of their slow speeds, these ships were originally equipped with an enormous amount of cargo space for food and supplies during long missions. As technology improved, faster hyperdrive engines made most of this space unnecessary. Now these areas have been converted into hangar bays. Dreadnaughts typically carry a full squadron of TIE Series Fighters and 4 Light Transports.

Dreadnaughts perform a number of duties within the Empire. They are used to maintain an Imperial presence in the Outer Rim Territories, as convoy escort vessels, and in the pacification of low technology worlds.

The biggest drawback for this class of heavy cruiser is its reliance on manual technology. While the newer vessels have minimal crews supported by a heavy concentration of droid technology, even the refitted Dreadnaughts need more actual crewmen than any other vessel currently in Imperial service.

Imperial dungeon ships were introduced at the height of the Purge in an attempt to control Jedi Knights and other dangerous prisoners. Originally designed by the Mandalorians, the majority of the ships cells are devoted to common prisoners. Sections are partitioned off to allow for variable gravity, lighting, atmosphere and other factors - often prisoners are held under uncomfortable (such as heavier than normal gravity) conditions to keep them docile during the prisoner transfer. Other tactics of control includes mild electric shocks (painful but causing no permanent damage), sirens and hallucinogenic gases.

Prisoners are guarded by droids along with normal organic guards (who are heavily armed and ordered to maintain order no matter what happened). Since the prisoners know that disobedience means death, there are few uprisings aboard the dungeon ships.

When it comes to Jedi Knights, the prison ships are designed on the principle that the best way to keep a Jedi Knight under control is to keep him disoriented and preoccupied with survival. Traditional restraints are useless against those who can call upon the Force. Super dense alloys makes out the walls in each cell to prevent any physical escape and, it is hoped, to screen out any telepathy. Eventually the energy shields used on the Universal Energy Cages have to be installed around the perimeter of the cells to prevent the Jedi from using their abilities. Life support settings are set extremely low to force the Jedi into hibernating for the duration of the voyage.

To prevent prisoners from commandeering vessels, the dungeon ships lack a normal nav computer. The computer can only hold two sets of coordinates at any given time: the jump to the prisoner transfer planet and the final destination. If a jump ship has to make multiple jumps, it would have to get new jump coordinates at each stopover. The bridge is located at the bottom of the ship in a self contained and detachable command chamber equipped with emergency rations and a signal beacon.

Manufactured by Tagge Industries Shipyards, the Modular Taskforce Cruiser has an underlying structure that allows it to be built fast, in any numbers and to serve any purpose. Basic functional modules can be added to a single framework, making the ship economical for everyone. The basic structure includes the drive system, crew quarters, life support, and command compartments. The functional modules include a hospital module, a survey module, an observation module, a rescue module, and an inquisition module. The basic frame is 1,150 meters long, and is armed with fifteen medium turbolasers. The crew of a taskforce cruiser depends upon its configuration.

The hospital module is used in planetary disasters, antiterrorist clean up functions, and space battle recovery. The hospital module can handle any number of disasters from combat to radiation leaks. Equipment includes thousands of medpacks, repulsorlift stretchers, five shuttles for transporting casualties, and a centralized medical computer.

The survey module is used for the rapid exploration of planets and entire systems. Besides the crew, the module contains over 100 exploration airspeeders for rapid surveys, 500 exploration droids, and six Skipray Blastboats and six TIE Bombers for defense. The module has a centralized computer for quick analysis of all gathered data. This module and its crew can completely analyze a planet within a standard 24-hour day and determine likely colony sites, and mineral and agricultural resources. The computer and its techs can also calculate likely astrogation routes from any nearby trade routes.

The observation module is used for espionage and long-range observation for intelligence gathering. The cruiser itself does not infiltrate enemy territory since enemy sensors would easily detect it. Instead, the ship is equipped with 500 probots and observation droids, which are deployed around the perimeter of enemy holdings for passive observation. The probots can run the standard light/energy spectrum analysis and eavesdrop on communications frequencies. Some specially equipped probots can scan very localized hyperspace with cross-channeled radiation. With the subspace link-up, the probots can be deployed up to 30 light years away and still have instantaneous communication with the cruiser. The ship has TIE/ln Fighters for defense.

The rescue module is used for space battle cleanup and repair. When a cruiser is dispatched to a battle scene, it is loaded with a variety of replacement parts for the ships that were involved in the battle. Doctors search any wrecks that were not already checked for survivors. The primary mission of the techs is to repair what ships they can so that they can be flown back to dockyards for complete repairs. Those ships that cannot be repaired are analyzed and the techs note what must be done to the ship so that it can be returned to the nearest Imperial shipyard. Military planners at the shipyard will then determine whether repairs will be attempted or simply scuttled.

The inquisition Module is the most recent addition and it is used for punitive action against insurgents and rebellious worlds. Aboard the module's cavernous cargo holds are 15,000 pre-fabricated disintegration chambers, two garrison bases, an Orbital Data Net Eraser unit, probes with sterilization spores, five cluster bombs with Magnetic Pulse Cluster Bombs (Mag Pulse system), and a complete orbital Nightcloak system.

Onboard Craft: 72 TIE Series Fighters and 6 Light Transports.

---
Rendili StarDrive built this warship to the standard design aesthetics of a Victory-Class Star Destroyer and an Imperator-Class Star Destroyer. The command tower is large in proportion to the rest of the ship and it is also as wide and long as its support structures.

Instead of the three large primary sublight thruster nozzles of an Imperator-Class Star Destroyer, the Demolisher has only two. Each of these is smaller than the equivalent part of a star destroyer, though the thruster mechanisms partly protrude from the superstructure as twin ridges on the dorsal hull.

The single docking bay is somewhat smaller than the primary bay of a star destroyer, and it is located at the prow of the starship, effectively cutting the usual dagger-like point into a pair of mandibles. The main hangar extends to nearly the entire width of the bay, making it significantly broader and more voluminous than the smaller but more numerous hangars of the primary bay of an Imperator Class Star Destroyer. The standard fighter compliment of this ship is two TIE Series squadrons.

The Enforcer-Class Heavy Cruiser uses the same hull as the Interdictor-Class Cruiser. The main difference is that it lacks gravity wells, while the propulsion systems and armaments have been much upgraded. While this "cheap" vessel is not as heavily armed and armored as a Star Destroyer, it is more than capable of dealing with smaller cruisers, frigates and corvettes, and has seen much action with anti-pirate and anti-smuggling taskforces, often in conjunction with it's sister, the Interdictor-Class Cruiser.

Our esteemed engineers have come up with yet another way to defeat the Rebel Alliance fools who boast of the hyperspace capabilities of their starfighters. With the development of the gravity well projector, we were just a single step away from creating a new weapon in the fight against terrorist attacks.

Using the gravity well technology, Sienar Fleet Systems had created the Interdictor or "Immobilizer 418" Cruiser whose primary purpose is to set up an artificial gravity well in battle zones and high security areas. The gravity well serves two purposes.

First, it appears as a large gravitational body to any hyperdrive system. This prevents a ship from jumping into the vicinity of the gravity well. The Interdictor Cruiser is designed to be placed near engagement areas or areas of potential conflict. It will stay outside the battle zones and set up the gravity well as required by circumstances.

Second, any ships already in the hyperspace that pass within the gravity well's field will be drawn immediately into realspace. Thus, the Interdictor Cruiser can help set up ambush zones by locating in known hyperspace corridors, forcing Rebel, pirate or smuggler craft to reenter realspace where our battle fleets can engage them.

Special Features: Five Hyperspace Pulsemass Projectors

Weapons: 20 Turbolasers, 15 Quad Laser Cannons and 5 Hyperspace Pulsemass generators.

Onboard Craft: 36 TIE Series Fighters and 5 Light Transports.

---
Built on the basic Sienar Fleet Systems heavy cruiser hull, the Abolisher or "Neutralizer 418" works in much the same way as the Interdictor-Class Cruiser. Instead of pulling ships from hyperspace and trapping them like the Interdictor, the Abolisher produces tiny spheres of hyper-energy that are shot out into an area of space. When ships traveling through hyperspace cross the equivalent area of realspace, they come in contact with the hyper-energy spheres. These spheres overwhelm the blocking capacity of the ship's shields and shred the craft. These hyper-energy spheres do not affect ships in realspace, but if a ship enters a field of spheres and then jumps to lightspeed it comes in contact with the deadly pulses.

Technological advancement is a byproduct of war. The battle-marred era marked by the Clone Wars saw the creation of bigger, faster, and more heavily armed and armored combat vessels. The best of this bumper corp. was the Victory I-Class Star Destroyer.

Designed by Republic engineer Walex Blissex, the Victory was commissioned into service as the wars were drawing to a close. Consequently, though these ships saw little action during the wars, they formed the bulk of the Republic Navy for years following. For a time it seemed these vessels would be replaced by the larger, newer Imperial-Class Star Destroyer, but since the Rebellion moved into full swing the Victory has served in the defense of the Galactic Empire.

The Victory I-Class Star Destroyer carries out three standard mission types: planetary defense, planetary assault and troop support, and ship-to-ship combat. It is much better at the first two than the latter. One of this vessel's most powerful advantages is its ability to enter the upper levels of a planet's atmosphere - something the newer Imperial-Class Star Destroyer cannot do. This permits precision ground attacks and the pursuit of smaller craft hoping to escape by diving toward a planet.

The Victory-Class vessel's main deficiency is its slow sublight speed. However, it does have rapid hyperspace capabilities and can make jumps quickly. To augment its slow speed, the Victory carries two TIE fighter squadrons.

It did not come off the production line until after the Clone Wars had ended, and consequently only a handful ever saw completion. Yet Rendili StarDrive's Victory II-Class Star Destroyer has made an impact in this age of Imperial- and Super-Class Star Destroyers. While the Victory I is primarily a planetary assault vessel, the Victory II was designed with space combat in mind.

The Victory II is fitted with powerful Hoersch-Kessel engines that add significantly to the Destroyer's sublight speed and maneuverability. In addition to its normal armament, the Victory II is equipped with ion cannons and enhanced tractor beam projectors. In combination, these weapons regularly disrupt the usual performance of an enemy ship, leaving it vulnerable to the Victory II's destructive weaponry.

Victory II Destroyers are designed with hangar bays large enough for two squadrons of TIE fighters. The main duty of the Victory II-Class Star Destroyers is sector patrol. In pairs, or with other ships, Victory IIs regularly move into suspected hot spots and areas of Rebel or Pirate activity with orders to pacify the sector.

This vessel was designed by Lira Wessex, daughter of Walex Blissex who designed the Victory-Class Star Destroyer. We look back to the various budgetary arguments with a certain sense of amusement. We remember when the bureaucrats of the former Old Republic government fought so hard against the Imperial-Class project. Their arguments about cost and feasibility studies and the like ring hollow in the face of the reality of a single Star Destroyer.

Although the Victory-Class Star Destroyer was powerful and deadly, the Imperial-Class Star Destroyer is truly an awesome achievement. Capable of reducing whole civilizations to ruin, it carries a full complement of AT-AT and AT-ST walkers along with assault craft, a full stormtrooper division, and many squadrons of TIE fighters. Its 60 Turbolaser Batteries and 60 Ion Cannons make it the one of the most formidable weapons platform currently operating in galactic space.

Imperial-Class Star Destroyers are expensive to produce, but their value in maintaining order and control throughout the inhabited worlds is immense. Their planetary assault capabilities are sufficient to subdue most underdeveloped worlds without additional support. Larger, more advanced civilizations may require several Star Destroyers working together. And in open space, nothing can truly challenge the Star Destroyer, though the ugly Calamarian monstrosity, the MC80, can cause trouble for an Imperial-Class Star Destroyer, and two such ships could perhaps defeat it.

This vessel has similar dimensions and proportions to the standard Imperial-Class Star Destroyer, and the basic hull and infrastructure is also same. Yet it also mounts four gravity well generators for suppressing hyperdrive travel within its vicinity. These projectors are a major structural feature, and the ship is Kuat Drive Yard's answer to the early development of the diminutive Immobilizer 418 Interdictor-Class Cruiser built by the competitor Sienar Fleet Systems.

The Dominator-Class Star Destroyer has a somewhat more versatile role than the specialized Immobilizer 418, which is not intended to engage in heavy combat. Instead, this interdictor Star Destroyer seems to combine the offensive role of a well-armed and durable Star Destroyer with the Interdictor-Class Cruiser's hyperspace blockade capability. The Dominator-Class Star Destroyer can stage its own ambushes and prevent the escape of its prey. The Dominator-Class Star Destroyer has somewhat weaker shielding than the Imperial-Class Star Destroyer. The four gravity well generators is a great power drain, and that accounts for this shield power deficiency.

The first Dominator-Class Star Destroyers saw active service few months after the cowardly destruction of the Imperial I Death Star, but did not become a common vessel in the Imperial Navy before the return of Grand Admiral Thrawn.

All Super Heavy/Super-Class Command Star Destroyers, or SSD was and are being built by Loronar, Rendili StarDrive, Sienar Fleet Systems and Kuat Drive Yards according to the traditional angular dagger-like shape. Some designs are made for the building of only one single ship while other more successful designs, like the Executor-Class, are being built in multiple numbers. The length of these enormous ships can vary between 2.5 km. (which is the maximum length of a Heavy Ship before it becomes a Super Heavy Ship) and 12.8 km. (which is the length of the Executor-Class Command Ships) The armament, shielding, hangar capacity and many other features of the ships varies just as much, but mostly according to the individual craft's mission profiles and the given budget.

All "Super" Star Destroyers are more show-off ships and command centers of the Imperial Navy than actual warships. But mainly they boost the morale of all Imperial forces while utterly terrifying the rebellious and un-pacified worlds it passes. One of the first vessels of the Super Heavy Class, the Executor, was completed not long after the Battle of Yavin and was the first of four Executor Class vessels to enter Imperial service before the Imperial victory at Hoth. The Executor was put under the direct command of Lord Darth Vader and was used as his flagship as he searched out the Rebels. The Executor was involved in several key engagements during the height of the Rebellion that included the Battle of Hoth and a skirmish over Coruscant during which Black Sun vessels were engaged with an Alliance fighter squadron.

The Executor was later deployed at Endor to guard the Imperial II Death Star during its final phases of construction. The mere sight of the Executor and another Death Star was supposed to be enough to deter any and all Rebel attacks, as no force would stand the slightest chance against the Empire's most powerful weapons. Unfortunately for our Galactic Empire, and especially for the crew of the Executor, Alliance A-Wings were able to cowardly exploit a little design defect, leaving the bridge of the Executor completely unshielded long enough for a doomed A-Wing to crash into the main bridge and send the ship crashing into the surface of the Imperial II Death Star.

The bridge deflector defect was fixed in almost every other "ESD" in service within months of the Executor's demise by adding a third bridge generator that is out of the line of fire, keeping the bridge superstructure shielded even if the two main generators have been destroyed. A second defect exposed after the destruction of the Executor's bridge was also fixed. This defect was the centralization of controls on the SSD bridge (heroic engineering crews on the Executor tried to regain control of the vessel from remote terminals but were unable to do so before the ship collided with the Imperial II Death Star.)

Perhaps the most interesting tidbit relating to the Executor-Class Command Ships is the official length of the vessel. In an interesting and controversial move, Imperial Naval Command released a public announcement after the completion of the Executor that said, "the Executor-Class battleship is more than five times the length of a standard Imperial-Class Star Destroyer." This release was accurate and inaccurate at the same time. The release was correct in that it was more than five times the size of a standard ISD, but it also gave the impression that is was only five times the length of an ISD. The Rebels generally accepted it to be approximately eight kilometers in length for a short period until actually encountering an Executor-Class Command Ship, sensor reports clearly showed the real length but the Alliance High Command kept it quiet as to not frighten their own soldiers.

By the first time that Grand Admiral Thrawn came to power, after returning from the Outer Rim Territories, the Empire had no more SSDs under its immediate command as many were destroyed by the Rebel Alliance before that point. Most were in the hands of various warlords that refused to align with Thrawn for any number of reasons. But now the governmental controlled Imperial Navy has again begun to construct several Super-Star Destroyers for active service against the doomed Rebel scum.

The Sovereign-Class Command Ship is basically a scaled-down version of the larger Eclipse-Class ship. It has fewer weapons, a slower hyperdrive, and carries a smaller complement of starfighters. Like the larger Eclipse-Class, the Sovereign-Class mounts an axial superlaser weapon, which has insufficient power to achieve complete disruption of a terrestrial planet, but it is quite capable of rendering a world uninhabitable. To stop fleeing enemy ships or set up traps for vessels traveling through hyperspace it is equipped with five Gravity Well Projectors. Two full legions of stormtroopers, and 5 full garrison bases stowed on board are used to meet any planetary assault needs.

Four of this ship has been built: the Sovereign, Autarch, Heresiarch, and Despot. However, they were all sabotaged and destroyed by the Rebel scum within a year. Many Engineers, technicians and civilians were killed in these terrorist acts. Nevertheless, Naval Command has planed to build new Sovereign-Class Star Destroyers, but no public announcement has jet been released.

The Eclipse-Class Command Ship is currently the greatest command ship class in the Imperial fleet. It is longer than the Executor-Class ships, and much more massive. The ships carry almost a million personnel, almost 700 starfighters, and a staggering amount of weapons. They also have 10 Gravity Well Projectors for keeping ships from entering hyperspace, and an axial Superlaser capable of damaging the crust of a planet. These ships are made from all-black hull components, making it nearly invisible to the naked eye.

Only two of these ships have been built: the Eclipse Prototype and the Eclipse II. The Eclipse Prototype began construction shortly after the completion of the first Executor-Class vessels, and was designed to be the Emperor's personal flagship. However, as resources were diverted to more traditional ships (and projects such as the Imperial II Death Star), the construction of the Eclipse Prototype lagged behind and was eventually put on hold. Nonetheless, the ship was completed almost a decade after it was started, when the resurrected Emperor Palpatine regained control of the remaining Imperial fleet and its resources. Unfortunately, it was soon destroyed by a destructive natural phenomenon in the Cyax system, above the fifth moon of Da Soocha. Not long after this event, a similar ship, the Eclipse II, was produced, with the same purpose as its predecessor; however, the ship was also destroyed shortly after it had been launched.

Dont mean to ask a stupid question, but how can the GE copyright stuff like the TIE fighter and Imperial Star Destroyer when all those things are owned by George Lucas?

Im sure there is a mod ruling on this somewhere.

*smacks head* oi-vey. I am not stamping the 'copyright' on George Lucas's things, I am saying that these vessels, and the compedndium itself took me a very, very, very long time to bring togethor and its not even done; I am saying that this document is not to infringe upon George Lucas, but to keep other players from just reading it, and going: "Oh well, that seems pretty cool, I could use one of those, now just to copy and paste it." Basicly I'm just asking people to ask before dipping their hands into this treasure mine of information. And because the GE, which I am a member of, uses predominately SW technology, I put our seal on it so as to signify that copyright of use.

But all the same, its good to know that you pointed that out, and allowed me to explain it.

All are under copyright of the GE, and if you wish to use one, you must go through a buying process, any unconfirmed copying will be dealt with.

Unless all of these are completely original (and they arn't), you have neither the right nor the authority to say this. This "GE" organization is hardly the arbiter of who can and cannot use these Star Wars ships on Nationstates.

Well technically your right, and technically your wrong. Its true we do not have authority over keeping people from using SW tech nor its ships, and by no means would we wish too. BUT (I) worked my ass off for some time to compile this list, most of these vehicles you've probably never even heard of, most likely due to not reading every singe SW book, comic, or random article, or the notes of designers who came up with these vehicles in the first place. So...we (or I) do in fact have 'some' say in the use of these ships I have presented here.

Obviously if someone comes out selling TIE Indedictors and Demolisher class cruisers with the exact specs you present hear then you have something to complain about. But if someone has an Impstar Deuce, there's really nothing you can say to them.

Only nit pick I have is that several very reputable sources, Curtis Saxon's Star Wars Technical Commentaries chief among them, scale the Executor at over 16 km. I forget the exact number, but his position is it's actually longer than the Eclipse, though not as wide or tall, and thus has much lower mass and internal volume.
