MAPUTO (RFP)- In a highly anticipated move, the Roman Empire today invaded and annexed Mozambique today after the Yelmish government again fell into chaos. While Rome doesn't expect much resistance, it does say that it may take a few weeks to bring Mozambique completely into the Roman fold.
The Romans launched the invasion mostly as an aid to Swaziland, a country under nominal Roman control but increasingly imeded due to its landlocked status. The annexation of Mozambique comes under a greater Roman plan to build up the economy of Africa, long since the poorest in the world, as well as to gain a foothold in the lucrative Indian Ocean trade.
