[Earth II] German & Austrian Armies Invade Yelm!

In an unexpected move from Reichskanzler Heydrich Kübler - given the current tension between the October Alliance, its allies, Rome, Elephantum, and other involved nations - four German and Austrian Armies, supported by two elite Ukrainian Schwarzenjäger Divisions launched a surprise attack against Yelm in the countries of Romania and Northern Bulgaria.

In the early morning hours of October 22, just a few days after the 20th year anniversary of the October Alliance, Austrian-made Kormoran-III cruise missiles began firing on Yelmish defenses, notably the Guilden Wall surrounding the aforementioned countries.

Resistance was notable, but the over 650.000 total Germanian soldiers, supported by over 700 tanks, armoured vehicles, AAAVs, and APCs could not be held back for long.

The fighting still continues between Ukrainian and Yelmish warships in the Black Sea, though it appears the supremacy of the Luftwaffe is dominating Yelmish forces in Europe.

In an announcement made by Kübler, he made the following statement:

"It is time to show not only Europe, but the world itself, the power of the Germanian military and our unpredictability. Those who challenge us will find revenge sooner or later. The Germanic people have the right to expand East into their God-given Lebensraum.

Let this be a warning to the Polish rebels and all of those who support them!"

Fighting still continues in the two countries, and it is expected that it will continue for at least another several weeks.

Reich International News

Immense celebrating emerged throughout the Vaterland and the territories of Germania, as Iaşa, a city in Romania bordering Moldova was captured by the 17th Ukrainian Panzer Korps, supported by the 317th Volksgrenadier Mountain Division, based out of Switzerland.

The city, which is the second largest in Romania with a population of 320.888 was a major blow to the Yelmish forces who have been putting up stiff resistance to the Reichswehr forces.

In Western Romania, the heavily-bombarded and fourth-largest city of Romania, Timişoara, was captured by the 10th OS-Panzer Korps, supported by the 17th Fallschirmjäger Division, the 209th Artillerie Division, and the 9th Schwarzenjäger Division.

However, in darker news, a Marine landing in an attempt to claim the Romanian port-city of Constanţa turned sour as it took the 19th Schwarzenjäger Division over thirteen hours to establish a hold on the beachead, even with heavy support from the Luftwaffe and Reichsmarine.

Over 567 Dutch and German soldiers were killed on the beaches of Constanţa on 28 October. However, a solid landing area has been established, and three Ukrainian Panzer Divisions are moving inland.

In Northern Bulgaria, six Schwarzenjäger Divisions, supported by three Fallschirmjäger Divisions made beach landing in the Oblasti of Dobrich and Varna, on the Black Sea. Resistance was much lighter than in Romania, and this was assumed to be because of the threat to Yelmish security from Nikolaos the Great to the South and the Reichswehr Armies to the North surrounding Romania.

In Northeast Bulgaria, the Oblasti of Vidin, Montana, and Vratsa have been captured by the 21st OS-Panzer Korps and the 19th Reichswehr Korps. These were supported by the 92nd Volksgrenadier Division and the 34th Fallschirmjäger Division.

From the Northeast in Bulgaria, the Germanian Armies are moving closer and closer to the capital city of Sofia...

Estimates have placed total Germanian losses around 1,860 and Yelmish losses around 3,500.

Secret Message to North Germania

The Empire will begin supply convoys from Layarteb to Germanian Europe immediately. Resupply from all of our northern possessions will be arriving first. The supply convoys will be escorted by destroyers, cruisers, submarines, and frigates as they move across the Atlantic. Any assets from the Azores that you can spare for protection and spot-work will be most helpful.

OOC: You willing to split Romania? I had my eyes on it too.

OOC: Would you be interested in an Eastern portion of Romania, Rome?

Secret Message to Layarteb:

Noted. Protection in the Azores to Europe will be provided by the Wolfpacks and Luftwaffe. We thank our old comrades.

IC:

The 12th Austrian Army was progressing quickly towards Bucharest - the capital of Romania. The Yelmish army was quickly deteriorating and their airforce had been obliterated by the extremely high-tech and powerful Luftwaffe of Germania.

Ground forces of Yelm were now being constantly bombarded by heavy and stealth bombers -- striking the Yelmish targets before the Reichswehr moved in to annihilate the survivors. It was a bloody but necessary evil...

In Northern Bulgaria, over 70% of the Yelmish forces there had surrendered to the Ukrainian Armies, and the other 30 or so percent had fled to Romania, to Bucharest, where the final fate of Romania would be decided.

Northern Bulgaria had capitulated, and was now in the hands of Germania...

This is the split of Romania Layarteb and I agreed on (we also agreed I'd get the Bulgarian territory). Whatever split we do decide on, I especially want Hunedoara (and a connection of that to the Black Sea), because that's where the ancient Dacian capital of Sarmizegetusa was.

Well, we did "kind of" agree to it- you made a proposal, I said "yes, we can do that if you want" and then NG claimed Romania. In any case, this is the land division I am ideally looking at.

Following the ending of large scale operations in the Pacific, and the close proximity of Celtayoshi Russian territory to the Black Sea, if required the Celtayoshi Army can provide support against the Yelmish rear, crushing the anarchists in a pincer movement.
Should the Germanian Armies require our support we will be ready in one to two days to deploy.

Bucharest, Romania was being moved in upon from all angles. The Ukrainian, Austrian, German, and Danish Armies were decimating the now rag-tag army. Everywhere Germanian soldiers went, all they found was the death and destruction of the Yelmish army and the rapid surrender of the population.

Reichskanzler Heydrich Kübler could not be more pleased. North Bulgaria had capitulated and over 250.000 Danish and Austrian troops were securing the towns and cities there. And now, 68% of Romania had been captured. Furthermore, the Reichskanzler had received an offer of support from Celtayoshi.

He would have to politely decline. The two simultaneous invasions weren't just to acquire land; they were to show the world that Germania could effectively fight and invade multiple enemies of great size and strength.

Now, it was only a matter of time before the Armies reached the gates of Bucharest. That poor capital in Romania was already in the process of being bombed by the Luftwaffe, softening all defenses currently in place.

There was little that the Yelmish forces could do at this point, except pray for a miracle...

Message to the Reichskanzler:

We would like to assist your war effort in any way that we can, be in peacekeeping or even in the invasion process. We would also like to continue the discussions regarding the division of Romania since Romania is dear to our hearts here in Rome, considering the ties the Romanian people have had with our country as the former province of Dacia. Let us know what you think.

I will gladly help you in capturing the rest of Northern Bulgaria. I have placed a large army on the border between Southern and Northern Bulgaria ever since the Greek Army captured the south. This is the opportunity I was waiting for. The Yelmish forces are crippled over years of skirmishes between my forces. The Guilden Wall will not stop my forces from capturing the border city of Stara Zagora. I hope this is the beginning of great friendship between two Empires and a strong Greek-Germanian alliance.

Border of Southern-Northern Bulgaria

600,000 Hoplites, 600 heavy tanks and 100 light tanks where quickly mobilized to attack the border city of Stara Zagora. The part of the Guilden Wall that was protecting it for years from Greek soldiers has now been mostly destroyed by artillery and air bombardment that happened just a few hours ago.

What remained of the Yelmish forces from the bombardment regrouped at the city where they will make there last stance. They where well organized but there morale was very low as they heard Greek propaganda spill out of special psychological warfare tanks. And that propaganda became ever so loud as the Greek Army approached. There time in this life was numbered.
