Godulans to Exchange Embassies/Diplomatic Relations (FT)
Baron Skye and Xenith Steele stared at each other over Skye's desk, a long silent stare that showed these two men knew exactly what the other was thinking in both the figurative and literal senses. Entire conversations passed without a word being said. Small talk was exchanged. Weather was discussed. Interior design was mentioned and subsequently scoffed at.
"We need to branch out."
"Like?"
"We're a military and industrial power a league unto our own. Yet hardly anybody even knows of us. I know how this sense of mystery often plays to our advantage, and that the enemy's decidedly non-blissful ignorance of our nature has given us our dominance of the battlefield. But its getting to be less of an advantage nowadays. We've come out too much. People are trying to counter us."
"We keep coming up with new stuff. We might as well just be in an arms race with ourselves. We're the only ones who can keep up with us."
"True, but that proves my point even more. We're not unknown anymore. Anonymity is no longer a tactical advantage. It never really was. We need to branch out."
"How though?"
"Diplomacy, trade Agreements, possible alliances, we need to spread our tendrils as much as possible. Without this influence we're doomed. Sure we have several interesting alliances with Germanische Zustande and the Alliance of Naggeroth, among other things, but more and more it seems to be as much a hindrance as it is a benefit. Many simply see that and refuse contact with us. Get the word out. Tell them who we are. Tell them what we can do for them. DO BUSINESS."
"Why are you telling me, then?" Xenith asked, taking a swig from a bottle of Crimson Dawn and savoring the taste before swallowing. "You're the best at both, and you're 'the boss'. You shouldn't need to ask me anything. Flattered though I may be, you don't need, nor care about I suspect, my permission."
Skye gave a dismissive roll of his eyes. "Hmmph. More like to see if you would go off on some tirade about this. I can only ignore you and Maximillian's griping so much, and when you both put your minds to it you can perform a prodigious amount of it."
"Gee, thanks," Xenith replied before taking another shot. "So where you gonna put 'em?"
"I am thinking Ptolemy. The low gravity tropical world there should provide a wonderful place to hold diplomatic relations."
"Heh, treehouse embassies. Think the natives will mind?"
"The Reglia? I seriously doubt it. They are like monks, and their serene nature only adds to the ambiance. I assume that outside of ten years they will be fully integrated into Godulan culture and we shall see them all throughout our space."
"Meh. Meditative types are the spooky ones, you can never tell when they're mad, and then they show off all these freaky martial moves..."
"You watch Kung-Fu movies too much."
"Not much else to do. So when are you going to start this up?"
"Already am."
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
GREETINGS AND SALUTATIONS!
In the spirit of further expanding Godulan Diplomatic Relations, Baron Skye has seen fit to allow the exchange of embassies between our nation and any who would seek to establish contacts between us. We are fully willing to discuss alliance arrangements, free-trade agreements, and anything else spanning the general nature of such ambassadorial matters.
Embassies will be placed on the world of Terivine in the Ptolemy sector, with quick access to the Balroggan wormhole network for quick travel and communications between our respective governments. It is a low-gravity tropical jungle world with a native population of very amicable zen-archetype avians known as the Reglia.
All interested parties merely need to provide their nationality, the nature of the relations they wish to establish, and the delegations, if any, they wish to send. We can construct embassies ourselves according to ambassadorial preference, as such construction is bound to be somewhat unique in nature.
Defensive equipment and personnel are to be looked at on a case by case basis, although we hope that such aspects will be regulated in good faith.
We look forward to further communications

Diplomatic contacts shall be organized as follows:

To - Godulan Diplomatic Ministry
From - League Diplomatic Ministry
Subject - Embassy, Trade, and Alliance
Greetings. As Godular arrives most fully into the galactic scene, we are here, with open arms, to welcome it. We would be most willing to grant you an embassy on Zegenthis (A most secure world, with easy access to the rest of the League), and sign a free trade agreement. Indeed, our trade has been somewhat lackluster in terms of entertainment, and we have no doubt that you have many new things to bring to us.
However, an alliance would suit us most admiralbly. We are perched somewhat precariously between the aggressor Republic, and the, somewhat unstable Chaos-Servants of Chronosia, not to mention the whispers of rebellion near the edge of our empire. A mutual-defense pact, and, perhaps, a military movement agreement, would, I have no doubt, benefit both of us.

Normally we would embrace your offer, but we find ourselves somewhat cautious with respect to establishing diplomatic relations due to your close ties to the Chronosian Chaos Hordes. Doubtless it would be necessary to point out that the enmity between Godulans and Chronosians runs deep indeed.
While we are not ones to hold grudges against others, we would like assurances that diplomatic treaties will not compromise our security in the event the Chaos hordes should make an attempt upon Godulan territory.
We shall point out right now that this is not an outright dismissal. We merely wish to... cover ourselves.

You present us with something of a conundrum. We are very staunchly against Chronosian influence and combat it whenever it strays towards an attempt at one of our allies, and in the latest conflicts you seemed to waver between attacking Republican forces and Chronosian forces alike.
While we are inclined to grant your request to establish diplomatic relations and the possibility of free-trade, we would like a more... concrete gauge of allegiance before we pursue full blown alliance status.

The Eshirian Sovereignty is always glad to see another nation follow the path of "Universalization", and attempt expansion through peaceful means. Our President, and reveared leader, Ki' Menoshi has expressed interest in taking up your offer of diplomatic relations and would like to outline our stance as simply as possible. As such...
Our requests and conditions are as follows:
-We ask for only a basic embassy exchange with Godular.
-We request that our own embassy be monitored by our own security forces consisting of only one Ultra-light escort carrier (1-12 fighters max onboard.) and basic security personnel.
-Any embassy that you construct will be set on our established "Embassy World" merely two sectors away from our homeworld.
Should you find any of these minimal requests unacceptable, we would be willing to modify or eliminate a few. The Sovereignty congratulates you on pursuing a peaceful rise, and wishes you well in your efforts.

From: Supreme Empress Ayeka (http://ns.goobergunch.net/wiki/index.php/Ayeka_Jurai) of the Planet Jurai (http://ns.goobergunch.net/wiki/index.php/The_Planet_Jurai)
Acknowledging the great assistance you provided to our forces during the conflict in Vrone’s former system, we wish to officialize diplomatic relations between our nations by forming a defense alliance.
To improve communication and cultural exchange between our nations we invite you to open an embassy on the third planet of Alkor system, one of Jurai’s central systems, which should be safe despite the border conflicts we are currently involved in. Alkor 3 is a small low-gravity planet, mostly covered with water but has several archipelagoes, mostly used as a residence by officials from Alkor 5. Depending upon your wishes, we can either prepare a building for your arrival, or provide you with land to construct a building on your own.
Our own representative, Lady Flavie Yaseiko, will be ready to depart for Godulan Empire along with retainers wthin a few days. Technically, we can build our embassy ourselves, but since it will take a couple of weeks, we would appreciate it if Lady Flavie will be provide with a building for an embassy upon her arrival.
Also, while our primary concern at the moment is to ensure our safety, we may be interested in technological exchange and joint research in the future. We are particularly in personal weapons and shields your infantry is using as well as your quick repair systems. We believe that you may be interested in some of our technological achievements as well, like structure and armor of Jurai Battleships and some of our weapon systems, namely Blackthorn system. However, we would prefer to wait with technological exchange until the time our borders are safe.
With best regards,
Supreme Empress Ayeka of the Planet Jurai
Deatharon-
Ah so. We find ourselves suspicious of Neo Zeta as well, as they seem to embrace turncoat mannerisms rather frequently. However, as long as Neo Zeta does not directly threaten us or Coreworlds, there shall be no issue with enabling diplomatic ties with related nations.
Embassy construction should be completed by the time your delegation arrives.
~Sirzan Aktei, Overseer of International Relations
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Almohed-
As you remain an effective unknown at this point, we find no issue in denying diplomatic ties or the potential of free trade. However, technological issues remain in strict confidence, and we are reluctant to share even our less prized secrets.
There will, however, be a sizeable discount when purchasing items at GR&M

We are only too happy to allow the establishment of diplomatic ties between our respective nations. With respect to the listed conditions are the following responses:
Point one: Accepted
Point two: Denied, we are hesitant to have non-allied military craft in our space. Rest assured we are not so barbaric as to attempt to capture and torture diplomatic delegations, and as long as ground-based security measures are reasonable, we will find no issue with them. Ruling negotiable.
Point three: As Terivine is not our capitol world, we can hardly complain about our embassy not being on yours. Accepted.
~Sirzan Aktei, Overseer of International Relations
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Planet Jurai-
We would only be to happy to allow and facilitate the establishment of diplomatic contacts between our respective nations. A proper embassy should be fully constructed before the ambassador's arrival. In converse, we will defer to your judgement on proper construction codes with respect to an embassy on 'Alkor 3'.
With respect to the potential of technological cooperation, we are reluctant to divulge our secrets to those whome we do not consider our most trusted of allies. Even full allies do not receive the benefit of our technologies, so do not be offended. Our Coredian and Balroggan brothers are the only ones who we would even consider such a thing with, and being allowed to 'trade information' with us is an honor to aspire to indeed. Note that this is not an absolute dismissal. Just an initial one.
As for the defensive alliance, we feel that due to previous contacts, we are inclined to facilitate this request. Baron Skye favors a yes vote, and that is really all we need.

Due to the Ptolemy system's connection to Balrogga's wormhole network, it will not be necessary to establish any fast travel gates. We are aware of the proximity of the system to the Balrogga Wormhole Network of which we ourselves are a member of, however, we find that having a smaller stargate on-site is more practical for ferrying small parties to and fro the embassy complex.
We are also understand your desire to limit the number of possible threats within your space, and we would like to outline that we have no intention of bringing any more ships than allowed until you can be sure of our true nature and intentions.
Rest assured we will take any and all measures necessary to ensure the security, and respect the sovereignty of, your star system. Such measures are considered a part of maintaining our own integrity, thus making a secure facility in both of our best interests.

We thank you for accepting our offer of defense alliance. The building for your embassy complete with high-quality apartments for your ambassadorial team will be prepared within sixteen hours and our representatives in Alkor system were informed to greet your ambassadorial team with all due honours upon their arrival.
We can perfectly understand your hesitation in regard of scientific exchange because Jurai actually has similar policy in regard of some of our technologies. However, judging from battlefield reports from Vrone’s former system, we came to believe that two of our nations can archive much if we join our scientific efforts, at least to some degree. Regardless, we leave this matter to your discretion.
As an alternative offer, we wonder if it will be possible to purchase an amount of personal weapons from you? Currently, we are working on improving our infantry forces, which proved to be highly ineffective during the recent border conflict with Neo Zetan and Chronosian forces, and since this is something of a new field for us, any help with improving our infantry forces will be greatly appreciated.
