Ground Rules told ya

okay, so maybe it needs somthing to make it taste better, the starting dating is October the 25th 1415, there is currently a large battle taking place in Northern France between the British under King Henry V and the French under Charles VI, and some other things are happening, but yes, Agincourt, that should pull in a few people surely.

Okay. So basically, Medieval period, we each take a single character and then go about killing people in other countries? Sounds cool.

well yes, but not without the inherent consequences, you could persay go to the Middle Eastern lands and kill lots of people, or you could go to Northern France and kill loads of people, but in both cases you would face enemies and although i outlawed people killing you character you are not invunerable, I would expect at least some form of grateutous wounding in a battle, or you could stay at home in deepest darkest France and kill peasants, of course that may lead to several Nobles going after your ass cos you killed all their Serfs, so yeah, cool.

Okay. I realise that I am not immortal, but is it basically combat, or will there be a plot/aim/chimpanzee?

no exact plot, though there are many subplots, for example, the English 100 years War with France is in it's early stages, Jerusalem is still under the control of Islam, and many other things.

Lands: None. His family owned quite a nice piece of land near Akko, couple of villages surrounding the small castle of Sugra, though, but they were lost to Saladdin.
Home Land: Burgundy is where his roots are.
Personality: Lively, flamboyant, gallant, brave (to even stupidity) as an individual. Very carefull when it comes to leading others.

Boots: Heavy, long, with metal strengthenings (if that's a word)
Gloves: Leather, with steel pieces fixed so that the punch is really going to hurt.

Right Hand: Lance.
Other Equipment: A pretty decent warhorse, black German charger.
A good sword (http://bjorn.foxtail.nu/images/jt_bastardi.jpg). Most expensive item he owns. Not beautiful or decorated, but highly efficient.

I probably should have explained this, Left Hand means what he carries in his left hand, Right Hand means what he carries in his right hand, for example

Current situation: Haven't decided yet, would like to see where other characters are to find company as early stage as possible. Depends also the current situation in the Middle East. As far as I know, in 1419 there were no christians/crusaders left? Haven't seen the film though, so can't say if that's the situation in it. Hollywood is rarely accurate with these ;)

well that film was just my inspiration, I picked the 1400's purely for Agincourt references, the film itself was set in the 1100's, I'm hoping and guessing that the majority of action will take place in Northern France, but that doesn't stop others from changing that.

Well, now when I'm at it, I'll whine a bit more about Mwarto's post :p

First of all, Viking Era ended somewhere near the year 1100. Last raids were made around then.

Second, if your character is from Scandinavia, it would have been quite extraordinary that Vikings would have attacked his village as they rarely robbed place so near. This happened, of course, but was quite uncommon. Definitely not in the 15th century though.

Third, Vikings never had anything comparable to the Roman gladiator system. In fact, I have never heard about any fighting dramas beeing orchestrated between slaves in viking society.

This is quite unimportant though, as the "Vikings" in the common meaning of the word didn't exist anymore.

Vladimir and Aleksandr have vowed revenge. Two years later, they are in a small town in Zeeland (South of modern day Holland) a where they think they have found a lead in their parents murder.

well as it happens there are Four people in the Western European Theatre already, but as for the Inn, well i guess i could be the start of a plot between your two characters, as a note i'll be RPing all NPC characters, and any major historical events, such as the 100 years war.

Hey, I knew the year that battle took place but even the realism guy is not supposed to know the actual date every single battle during the Middle Age... Or so I hope! ;) There were 362 days in the year of 1415 that the battle of Agincourt was not raging, I thought this was some of those.

yeah I was trying to find info on Italy during 1415, the bast i could come up with was that Italy was indeed in the renaisaance period ¬_¬ it also said that Florence was beseiged but it didn't mention who by, so i guessed, I guessed wrong, anyone mind telling me otherwise? O_o

My source is from the year 1419, but guess the situation is pretty much the same...

Scotland is figting England, as an ally of France. France is not very consentrated kindom, there aer several pretty strong vassals like Orleanais, Bourbonne, Auvergne.

Duke of Burgundy is almost as strong as king of France, and an ally (though cautious one) of England.

Brittany is independent, and an ally of Burgundy and England.

Ottomans aren't really a major power yet.

Venice is in the heights of its power, holding the east coast of Adriatic sea (Dalmatia) as well as Crete and Ionia.

Poland-Lithuania is massive.

Ireland is independent, expect Dublin.

Mameluks control everything from Cyrenaica in North Africa to Aleppo, north from Holy Land.
