Toward the Dragon's Claw (Olde Earth)

Bansean Hervor heaved at the wheel, straining to bring it over. The sleek ship wallowed in the whitecapped sea, lit up every few seconds by a flash of lightning showing the crew desperately reefing the sails and pumping for all their worth. Bansean looked heavenward, and all he could see was black. The sea had opened up in the greatest storm in a thousand years.

Obviously, all was not well with the Knorr of Bansean, a trader of Jeriath, Caladonn. When he departed from Jeriath days ago for a quick trip to the northern island to deliver some suits of Ithilmar and a store of grain, the sea had not looked kindly on him. Instead, here he was in unkown waters to the north, farther than any of the Imperial Mapmakers' maps went, desperately trying to save himself and his men.

Suddenly, Bansean looked up from his unending exertion with the wheel. He could not believe his eyes. Was that a lightening of the clouds ahead? With the next flash of lightning, he was sure, and the cry of the drenched lookout above the din confirmed it. Land! Bansean, instead of battling with the howling wind, stopped his exertions at the wheel, and the ship was brought forward at a lightning pace, and into an inlet with only the smallest help from the exhausted elves.

In the calmer waters of the inlet, Bansean looked around him. A green and fertile land greeted his eyes, and, despite the driving rain, he knew that this was a great discovery.

After the storm had abated, Bansean and his crew returned to Caladonn. He sparked off intense inquiry. That there was more land to the north of Caladonn, fertile and green, it appeared, was a wondrous discovery.

Aramil Holimion, the Consul of Caladonn, immediately ordered a vast expedition set out. 150,000 soldiers, along with many colonists, assembled a mighty fleet and set out for the north. Unlike Bansean's trip, theirs passed uneventfully, and they soon landed in the new land. Settlements were established, and after exploring, they found that this land was a strange peninsula in the shape of a dragon's claw. Always practical-minded, the elves named it thus- the Dragon's Claw.

As settlements were set up and the land expanded, the elves decided that if there were other people in these bountiful lands, they should be contacted. Thus, an expedition of 20,000 soldiers set out under the command of General Tyrion. Perhaps they will come in contact with other civilizations.

OOC: Could I have someone to do the resistance?

(I'll volunteer. What do you want me to play as? I'm thinking some type of ancient eastern civilization (Think China or Japan-ish). I'm open to pretty much anything, however.

OOC: Whatever type of civilization/race you want.

IC: The party was moving fast northward, and had come upon a vast grassy plain, with mountains in the distance. The elves stopped for the night, as it was close to dusk, and General Tyrion ordered pickets thrown out to warn of anyone.
