Out of Character Introduction

The Union of Soviet Socialist Republics has relatively been kept out of the international spotlight. Mostly, this is because of OOC reasons, but it has given me a unique advantage and time to transform into a Post-Modern Tech nation. Yet, I have wanted to keep myself within the year of 2005; usually considered modern tech. Thus, this thread is being made to keep track of already occured scientific advancements and cataclysmic economic and geo-political events that helped advance the USSR and her allies.

I have discussed this with several people (Communist Brazil, Macabees, Ottoman Khaif, etc.) and have gotten much support; even some wishing to take part in this, multi-thread advancement plan. Thus, I have decided to make this relatively open if you ask permission first and state your general plan. Scientists, national evnoys, etc. are all allowed so long as you ask.

Remember, I will be stating in what year each advancement and event occurs and whether it is IC secret or IC open in the title of each post; so actually read those. The reason I am doing this, is because your nation may or may not have had a particular event that could impact what occurs in the future.

I want this to be a good roleplay. It will most likely be character based and an ongoing event until prepared events occur that bring the USSR and others out into the international community as a Post-Modern Tech country.

Hello, this is Natali Bolvanskya reporting to you from Leningrad. Yet it is true, the Political Bureau has decide to adopt a ’juche-like’ economic policy. A representative on behalf of the Politburo stated ‘the Soviet Union needs to be self-reliant and slowly pull itself from the global economy so to keep far from the corrupting influence of capitalism.’

In response to the suspected economic backlash that pulling from the globalist economy will cause - however minor - the Politburo has also levied taxes to a higher rate. Taxes before the levying were at a steady fifty percent. However, after the raising of rates, the new income tax rate will be an average of fifty-eight percent.

These new policies being implemented has caused some controversy within the Soviet Union. However, due to confidence and understanding, no voice has come out as direct opposition. As usual, the elevation will be added to the ‘Collective Income Fund’ - what the budget is officially labeled, however, outside of the Soviet Union, a voice with the name of Albert von Schneider has created a group of cards including: Comrade Troskin (The Soviet Union), Soares Bittencourt (The Free People of Communist Brazil), and Eva da Silva (The Free People of Communist Brazil). This deck of cards indicates by suit, the elevation of danger that each political official is at. For example, Comrade Troskin is the Ace of Spades on this bizarre, reactionary creation.

Commissariat of Military Affairs; Moscow, RSFSR, USSR

Marshal Volgin, Commissar of Military Affairs, sat in his office, peering out from the tenth story window. The ginger crackle of a fireplace was in the distance. The thick wood was cracking apart as the raging fire in the wall warmed the room. It was a distinctly cold Winter. It had started snowing early this year.

A gentle rap was heard on the door as it opened. An aid walked inside. She was a bouncy female, not over the age of twenty-two. Her short, business skirt flailed faintly with each step. "Here, Comrade Marshal," she spoke, laying a plain, large envelope on his desk.

"Thank you comrade Nosvaya," was his simple response.

He grasped the envelope before turning in his chair back to the window. Volgin slid a small knife into the end of the envelope, popping open the thin paper and removing a letter:

Dear Volgin,
It appears as if we have completed the Behemoth. It has been tested on both land, air, and in sub-surface enviroments. It has passed the tests with flying colors and will be ready for mass production by the end of Winter.

General Information
The Ta-17 'Sentinel' is a new marvel for the Soviet Union. Capable of walking and flying, the AFV (All-terrain Fighting Vehicle) has displayed potential to be one of the greatest fighter craft ever created. It is capable of reaching 70,000 feet and being submersed for up to one hour and down to 1,000 feet. These unique abilities gives the Ta-17 unparalleled abilities to hunt down and destroy the enemy, securing the safety of our comrades.

Electromagnetic Elevation Pad
Developed at Groznyj Grad in the Mongolian SSR, the EMEP was developed as a way to create stable flight withou using vertical rotory aircraft. It allows the single pilot to fly at awkward angles and sharp turns without tearing the aircraft apart. It began to be developed in early 1999 at Groznyj Grad. They discovered that by creating powerful electromagnets, people could use the push from every particles magnetic field for flight. Thus, electromagnetic pulse aviation began.

Electromagnetic Spherical Cycle Engine
Running off the principle that a solid iron sphere spinning amidst liquid nickel creates electricity - and an electromagnetic field - the Ta-17 uses this new engine to power the massive amount of electronics. The only real problems with the EMSCE is the powerful electromagnetic field it produces. This, the engine itself is incased in a 'negatively polarized' box that pushes back the electromagnetic field by reversing the engines pull and sustaining it within another magnet. To get the enginer started, a starter battery is used to begin the spinning of the internal sphere of the EMSCE before it shuts off.

Electromagnetic Wave Emitting Jamming System
The Ta-17 is capable of both deception and scrambling jamming by emitting 'degraded' electromagnetic waves causing the disruption of enemy RADAR and scanners. This allows rhe Sentinel a short amount of time to escape enemy fire and pull back into safety.

Drone Decoy System
The DDS is truely a Soviet marvel. Instead of releasing normal decoys, the Sentinel releases one of two of these drones. The missile like, high heat emitting machine drops down before shooting of towards the nearest enemy craft, whether it be personnel, naval vessels, etc. This draws the enemy rocketry towards the drone, and inevtiablely the enemy vehicle.

Electromagnetic Pulse Detection
A new sensor that allows the Ta-19 to find enemies by detecting their distinct electromagnetic field. In cooperation with its other scanning systems, it is able to detect whether the detected craft is friend or foe and thus, act accordingly.

Singular LIDAR System
Unlike normal LIDAR, the S-LIDAR-S emits a concentrated field of detection. The field detects the enemy within this concentrated area so the Sentinel can defend itself and/or go on the offensive and attack.

Cerebral Control System
The CCS is a system that allows a pilot to control his aircraft by thought alone. By connecting the machine into the central nervous system at motory function points, it allows the pilot to accelerate, turn, and generally fly the Ta-17 without using his limbs. This has caused pride in wounded pilots who believed they could no longer serve the proletariat. Now they are able to.

Collective Management System
Due to the nature of the craft, a large amount of Sentinels are usually necessary to complete an objective. The CMS is a program that keeps the Sentinels locked in intricate formations without hitting eachother and destroying the craft, killing the pilot. This was displayed as a necessary program during the Gobi Incident when four Ta-17's in formation impacted and crashed, killing two pilots.

Hello, this is Natali Bolvanskya reporting to you from Leningrad. Reports are coming in of a Soviet 767 has crashed in the mountains within the Mongolian SSR. It is reported that there are casualties and that so far, a massive fire has prevented militsiya (Police) from locating any survivors or the 'Black Box'

As of now, not much information is being released on the cause of this catastrophe. However, we do have information from an insider within a local control tower, that the pilots were reporting problems with their gudience systems; most notably those that rely on the magnetic field of the Earth the follow course.

Some people have speculated that the crash has something to do with the new form of power plant being created nearby. Yet, due to lack of information on exactly what new form of electricity generate is being created, we are unable to confirm these rumors. Memo From the Tzu Sobresk Electromagnetic Power Facility

1/12/04

Due to our investigations of the 12/24/2003 Soviet airliner crash has shown that due to a leak in the containment portion of the electromagnetic electricity reactor compound released a concentrated electromagnetic pulse towards the aircraft, damaging its guidence systems and eventually destroying the craft, causing it to crash approximately forty miles from the Tzu Sobresk Compound.

Evidence of the field actually pulling the craft to the ground is insufficient and unable to be proven or dissproven.

Hello, this is Natali Bolvanskya reporting to you from Leningrad. News has finally rolled in. The nations of: Greece, Montenegro, Serbia, Bulgaria, Macedonia, and Albania have surrendered to Soviet forces and have become official Soviet Socialist Republics. This comes approximately one month after Slovenia, Croatia, and Bosnia-Herzegovina fell to the Red Army. This massive leap in expansion is in due part to the acceptance of Hungary, the Czech Republic, and Austria into the Soviet Union.

Fightening is reported to have ceased this evening at around 0500 hours local time. This has caused some worry to grow in Western powers whether or not the Soviet Union will continue to expand into Western Europe. We contacted members of the Political Bureau, but our phone calls were not returned.

Several pro-Dufourist parties in the Western World have deemed this as imperialism. Comrade Troskin responded by saying, "These nations were oppressing their citizens, they were forcing them into labour facilities and refusing them the most essential personal properties needed to survive. The Worldwide Mir Initiative demands that we take action. We have, and will continue to do so."

Rioting has insued in several Balkan cities, but for the Soviet advancement. This shows that the majority of the people supported this strange advancement into the Baltics. This new expansion also has caused another border between the Soviet Union and Ottoman Khaif. Please stay tuned for more information.
