Russian Federation ground forces are made up of 51 army-size units. That number is further broken down into 42 Army, 1 Rail-Road Army and 9 Gvardias.

Each individual army is controlled by an Army-General, who has to answer to commander of the ground forces with a rank of the Marshall of VNS of Russian Federation. The ladder ends with the president being a supreme commander of all armed forces.

Pehota (Infantry):
Infantry like all divisions of the regular army is composed primarily of conscripts. Conscription age in the Russian Federation is from 18 to 34, the duration of the service for conscripts who joined the infantry is 4 years. Infantry soldiers are trained for 6 months prior to deployment to their units. Infantry soldiers are paid 2000 rubles a month during their training and 4000 rubles a month once they join the service. The Infantry officers are either conscripts who after completion of their service were awarded a rank of a starshie praporshik, decided to remain in the army and went on to take the 2-year course to qualify them for officerial rank, after which they graduate as a Mladshie Leitenant. Or conscripts who prooved themselves in combat and got an officer patent which they can exchange for a full officer rank after completing a 3 month course and taking a test, if they graduate they will also get the rank of Mladshie Leitenant.

Gvardia

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/d/db/Red_Army_flag.svg/180px-Red_Army_flag.svg.png

The tittle of Gvardia is given to the army units that showed unquestionable loyalty and extroardinary courage on the battlefield. After a conflict is over the division or a battalion that is given the Gvardia tittle is moved under control of one of the Gvardia Army-Generals, thus adding to an elit army size unit that is composed of the battalions and divisions that prooved themselves in battle. Gvardia is much harder to get into then the Army. Five out of nine current Gvardias were compiled over a hundred years ago. Gvardias are under jurisdiction of the Marshall of Russian Federation.

(Air Force)

Russian VVS was began in 1920s by Marshall Gregorie Plutkov of the Regular Army that was then used to be called the Red Army. He began it as a division of the ground forces, and it was mostly used for reconnaissance. However in 1934 it became a separate branch of the military. Since then it has evolved into one of the best air forces on the planet.

VVS Divisions are stationed on the military airbases scattered across the country, each division has its own airbase, which falls under the jurisdiction of the general commanding that division. There are total of 98 divisions: 24 Air Attack Divisions, 19 Ground Attack Divisions, 21 Transport divisions, 28 Paratrooper Divisions, 12 Bomber Divisions, 1 VO and 3 Guards Air Force Divisions.

All divisions follow orders given by the Marshall of Russian Federation.

Vozdushnaia Ohrana (Air Guard):
VO is one of the major branches of the Pushkan air force, its job is to monitor Pushkan aerospace and defend it against any foreign threats. VO controls all the surface to air missile installations scattered across the country, there are usually 3 or 4 of them near every major city, and 1 o 2 near other cities, also some are placed randomly. A single installation contains over a hundred Triumph missiles, each one with the range of 8000 meters. VO headquarters are located in a bunker near Voronej, however there are other control posts around the nation. . VO also coordinates all the air force actions within Pushkan aerospace. VO is a more or less secretive organization and the exact number of operatives is not known.

Gvardeyskie Vozdushnie Sili (Guards Air Force):

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/d/db/Red_Army_flag.svg/180px-Red_Army_flag.svg.png

Gvardia has its own air force. Originally it was a separate branch of the armed forces called the Primer Ministerial Wing and was used mainly for transportation and protection of the Prime Minister and his office. However it became a fully functioning part of Gvardia, used for transportation, ground support and so on. There are three divisions, one is for air defense, another for ground attack and third one is for transportation. The transportation division also transports paratroops for the rest of Gvardia since the Guards Pehota receives paratrooper training.

Perhaps the most shadowy branch of Russian military Razvedka/Counter-Razvedka is the Russian military reconnaissance corps. However it does much more then that, R/CR also controls the VRPB Computing Head Quarters that are hidden in an undisclosed location somewhere on the Russian soil. The VRPB CHQs are the institution that are responsible for maintaining the system that collects data from every unit on the battlefield and puts it in a single 3D model which can be used by any one in the Russian military to gain an advantage over the enemy. The amount of men working for R/C-R, or the equipment used by R/C-R is undisclosed, however all the branches of the military are issued data collecting equipment owned by R/C-R. The rank names R/C-R uses are undisclosed.

Thanks.
What I found interesting is that for 16000 missles there were only 300 guards which means 1 guard for every 63 missles. Are there only 50 or so launch sites.. or is the mumber suppose to be 30000 gaurds. How exactly are the sites distributed. Do regular untts gaurd this material as well? Or is it budget issues? or did the logistics and guard numbers get mixed up as 210000 seems very plausable as a heavy gaurd force, while a centralized command may be able to have coordniation to the sites although I wouldn't distributed it that way.

I would have 3 logistic site members + 1 for every missle + 10 gaurds / shift so 30 gaurds per missle which would work out to around 19000 loogistic and 480000 , however I would break the the guard duties up among two forces an onsite team 1/3 and offsite standbys the other 2/3rds composed of navy air and land that also do coordinated training for special redistrobution. The 2/3rds does not enter actually permimited that is no closer than a save distance 100KM but is ready to respond in an emergency where as the other 160000 would be split up into three groups + living within 100km of the site or better on the site so 53000 distributed to each shift being a unit for each missle +/- depending on the needs of the site.

But I m geussing you got your numbers backward.. but I would also integrate your logistics with the site gaurds as well and have more specialized training among the senior officers to do logistics as well.

The thing is that the guards are only for protecting the silo bases, i have more then one silo on one base and about 50 guards per base. The mobile units are guarded by the army and the guided missiles are guarded by the airforce. Most intercontinental ballstic missiles are issued to the Navy, and are put on the boomer subs so its the job of the navy to guard them.

But thanks for your suggestions, i will consider them and change a few things probably.
