Tsunami flattens coastal cities

Only a few hours ago, a magnitude 9 earthquake rocked the sea floor two hundred miles of the coastal cites of Badrial and Redg. One hour later, a massive Tsunami was triggered as a result. Both cities were extremely ill prepared for such a disaster, and it showed. The waves cleared entire city blocks of traffic and citizens walking along the streets, and smashed several hundred buildings along it's way.

To make matters worse, both cities have relatively large populations (7.6 Million live in Badrial, and 7.2 Million live in Redg). Currently, waves are still battering their way through the city, almost certainly killing thousands in their wakes. Even the suburbs of cities are beginning to flood with as much as forty feet of water.

Many Tocrowkians are now calling 2005 "The Year of Misery" for their country. Two wars were started with other powers earlier this year, both of them costing tens of thousands of Tocrowkian lives. Next, the great Pharamas riot just weeks ago killed tens of thousands as well, the revered Steward Willhelm Reinhard having an heart attack and a transition of government, all within the last week.

Inter-national aid is also being requested by the Tocrowkian government.

Such a great tragedy requires action. The government of Templa is willing to send monetary aid along with any needed supplies. We, um...also...just happened to have a naval taskforce in the area. With your gov't's permission, they could offload personnel to help in any way neccessary.

The Holy Empire of Saint Fedski expresses their sympathy. Unfortunately we regret to inform you that our nation is already over stretched and are unable to help you out in this time of need. Once some units get freed up, they will be dispatched to Badrial and Redg.

OOC: Now it would be quite funny if you decided to attack them.

OOC: Sorry. Even though I modeled my nation's power structer on midievil europe, I don't think even my church is quite that evil.

IC: If it is alright with your gov't, the National Church of Templa is more than willing, even eager, to send clergymen to administer last rights, convert the heathens, etc, etc, etc.

OOC: Tocrowkians aren't exactly what I'd call heathens, considering over 90%of the population are Christian, five more percent are muslim, and the other five percent are atheists or etc.

IC: We accept all offers of aid, and we apologise for our short letters that we will undoubtly send out over the next few days. We're dealing with a crisis here.

OOC: Hey, Soragakure. ANBU? Should we be worried? You've gotta have something major planned if you need that many Jounens.

OOC: Well.....:D it's only three squads and for my purposes, they move in threes. Anywho they're there to as i said provide security for my medics. You know keep watch over supplies and such. It wouldn't do to have only my medics there....though they are quite capable of defending themselves, but no, i don't plan to do anything too major.

Update:

A Tocrowkian national guard contingent of one hundred thousand men was split into two, and both were sent to the affected cities. Though the Tsunami is over, the suffering of the cities population is still immense.

In many areas, the water is neck high, and even suburban homes roofs are not safe. The population of both cities have begun to flee in the hundreds of thousands to the downtown areas to seek refuge in the taller buildings, and the Tocrowkian air force is having great difficulty evacuating all of them from the roof-tops.

An estimated four hundred thousand could be dead currently, and Government officials fear that as many as twenty thousand more could be dead by Monday if the cities are not totally evacuated by then.

The Government would also like to thank all of the nations that have contributed thus far.

Medics glanced out of their transports. Water was flooding the entire city. The same was reported from the other medic teams sent to the other city. They quickly sent a message back to Soragakure for additional supplies. Hovering over the flooded city, the transports flew around trying to find some higher ground that wasn't underwater.

A trio of ginormous-ass Seakings flew over the flooded ruins of Badrial. Below, they could see see countless civilians reach imploringly up at the dark gray choppers. The pilot in the lead helo nudged his copilot, reached for his radio; they were going to need a lot more hellicopters.
