“Anti Roman Confederacy propaganda airing in Panthean soon will air AROUND THE WORLD”

Orenberg Oblast- Its been many years, but the lost of Panthea’s home Slovakia still haunts it’s civilians and military. History books in Panthean schools refer to the lost of Panthea-Slovakia has the “The great blackmail.” And many leaders of Panthean’s old regime continue to hide because of death threats, and assassination attempts. General Sven Gunther himself was seriously injured when he was struck by a bullet last may 1st. Leaders of Pantheaa’s government were quick to blamed underground Communist for the assassination attempt. But others theorize that the shooter was a derange member of the military. Hoping to capitalize in the peoples anger the political opposition leaders seek to end relationships with the Roman Confederacy and voice anti-North Germania propaganda. The ploy worked so well that the Pathean Nationalist party ( a right wing party) was able to garner enough votes to take over the Panthean parliament while the incumbent Democratic socialist failed to get even 40 % of the nations vote.

Now the Panthean Nationalist are following through in their election promises. This last month Panthea officially resigned from the crooked Roman Confederacy. And the party is willing to sponsor movies and novels critical of Rome, North Germania and the weak Roman Confederacy. Probably the
most famous works include Michael Boore’s documentary “Bowling for Slovakia”. In which Boore states that the conquering of Europe was a conspiracy planned by Rome and the North Germania leaders. He ponders why NG hasn’t conquer Rome yet despite having an advantage in military strength.
And coming to a book store near you is Charles Roy’s novel “What do you know, Poland?” In which Roy criticizes the RC for not involving itself in its fight for freedom in Poland

The long term goal is simple....

Encourage other nations around the world to denounce the alliance and quit in disguise

Not only has the propaganda caught the entire pantheaa nation in a fervor, but it also has electoral consequences. The Revolutionary Communist party has been silent regarding the imperialist issue of other nations , instead focusing on workers rights and the plight of the poor. And the Labor party along with their leftist allies in the Democratic Socialist party are preaching about equal rights and the economy instead of security and international relationships. Which leaves most pantheans to wonder; with the Poland situation why would anyone vote for an isolationist?

LETTER TO THE EDITOR

Dear sir,

I am a Cottish citizen, and have resided in Orenburg for the past fifteen years. Still, I do not understand why the socalled "great blackmail" is so encouraged and outspoken. My native country, the Empire of Cotland, was a member of the Roman Confederacy itself untill it decided that the alliance weren't beneficial to the foreign policies. Still, it has not denounced the member states in the alliance, but on the contrary it keeps close and fruitful relations with several of the nations involved, including North Germania.

The situation in Poland is regretable, yes, but it is also an internal Germanian matter. How would you feel if say Pushka came and told you how to do things here in Pantheaa? Would you not tell them to mind their own business? I believe that you would, and that is exactly that the Germanians are doing. They are dealing with the situation among themselves, and while the situation is verging on civil war, it is none of the outside worlds business! Why do you not understand that?

The Roman Confederacy is a alliance which has had great influence in the past, but recently it has fallen behind due to a poorly drafted charter. Therefore it is not Romes fault, but the limiting charter of the Confederacys fault, to an extent. It is also the fault of the members, all the members. They have not been active enough in the Confederacy for it to truly be the force and power that it was designed to be, and therefore the world situation has become as it is. It is just as much your fault as it is Romes or Germanias fault!

I believe that your government should go back a few steps and thurroughly search its soul to see if it could have done anything earlier to try to avoid this instead of racking Rome and Germania and the Roman Confederacy deep into the dirt. Use reason, not passion in this matter. The fate of Pantheaa might depend on it.

Sincerely,
Peter Robins

OOC: Pantheaa, I hope you don't mind that I "quote" the movie. It would probably be lines the documentary would use anyway, but if I need to change them let me know.

"'Bowling For Slovakia': Pantheaans denounce Roman Confederacy"

ORENBURG- Michael Boore may be a single man, but today he is the voice of a nation.

The director of the Pantheaan hit documentary, "Bowling For Slovakia", follows in the heels of a propaganda campaign alleging that the loss of Pantheaan Slovakia came at the hands of a "conspiracy" between North Germania and Rome during its time in within the now inept Roman Confederacy on Earth II.

"Right from day one Rome and North Germania had it in for us," said Boore in his documentary. "Notice how the Confederacy did nothing when Belarus was being conquered, and notice how today the Confederacy hasn't been front and center in Poland. Why should it be surprising that the Confederacy wasn't front and centre with Slovakia?"

"Bratislava is their home, plain and simple," says Political Science Professor Secondus Antonius Aremaius of the University of Rome on Slovakia. "However, like most propaganda works, they are completely off the mark."

Aremaius points out that when North Germania threatened to take Slovakia, the Romans were front and centre in the ordeal, telling the North Germanians to kindly back off. "Rome did use the Confederacy as grounds to prevent a military strike," said Aremaius. "Unfortunately, because of the limiting scope of the Charter, Rome was prevented from executing a military strike of its own to prevent Germanian expansion."

Aremaius also points out that Pantheaa itself did not say much to defend its own lands. "Pantheaa did not raise the issue with the rest of the Confederacy. It sat complacent and more than readily accepted the land exchange."

Other political scientists see a different but still similar version. "When Rodin Hartian created the Confederacy he did so without much thought," said Professor Gnaeus Promethius Sullus. "However, the lack of thinking wasn't confined to Rome- most of the members went in without much thought and, expectedly, they didn't devote a lot of attention to the Confederacy and didn't care about it at all. It might have been effective if it was better planned."

"The temperment on Earth II is not one condusive for alliances," said Professor Marcus Sullus Apollo, in one of the more bolder views. "The nations on Earth II are simply bent on war. You would not have created any kind of stable alliance- let alone a large one like the Confederacy- in an environment like that. Diplomacy simply isn't something Earth II nations are capable of."

The Prefect of Earth II- Cornelius Marcus- was also critical of the Slovakian movies. "The official position of the Roman Union is that we were there for the Pantheaan people right from the start. Rome in no way shape or form wished to see the destruction of the Pantheaan state." He then also maintained that Rome "was and never will be an enemy of the Pantheaan state," and always knew what the state meant to Rome.

Letter to the Author; Orenburg Daily Newspaper

"Your depictions of my government's actions concerning Slovakia are poorly-placed. Slovakia was purchased, and the government of that nation did nothing but agree to the sum of money offered and the territory of land in Russia formerly occupied by Germania.

I would like to point out, that as a born-and-bred Austrian [from Klagenfurt] and native Germanian I can accurately say that the Teutonic Empire and Rome have very little in common, even less so in a conspiracy to dominate Europe. On the contrary, Germania and Rome are on the brink of war concerning the situation in Poland.

The Romans and Germanic Peoples have historically and still do not get along well, even since the Romans' desire to dominate the Germanic Tribes during the BCE time period. It was a severe blow a realization that they were not invincible after the Battle of the Teutoborg Forest.

The Romans and Germanic Peoples do not see eye-to-eye on matters, as Germans see that their land is theirs by right, while Romans see their land as theirs for strategic reasons and nothing else. Quite differently, it is the blood and soil that gives us German people our identity and strength.

As Charles Roy questioned why Germania had not conquered Rome, it is a matter of respect. The Romans' culture is significant and important to the world, and the land of Italy is not important to Germania. The only reason Germania would have to invade Rome would be to sack the capital city and drive a message home that they need to mind their own affairs. However, that is not at all going to happen in the predictable future.

Furthermore, Germania is no longer a member of the Roman Confederacy. It withdrew when it interfered with Germania's primary alliance, The October Alliance, and wished to preach peace when war was inevitable.

I suggest that you, sir or madam, research the immensely complex political, social, and cultural aspects of the Germanic culture before jumping to conclusions."

The Panthean Federation does not wish to acquire Slovakia as it would divide us from our territories. And we are growing use to our new capital in Orenberg.
