Nice, keep up the good work. Maybe include something in your first post about the current political climate in Britain and declare who will be succeeding your monarch, viz this post on the main thread:

http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=449185

It is about possible conflict upon a new ascension to a major throne, though admittedly it applies less to a nation such as Great Britain, which has had the monarch with less power than most nations in Europe and with a fairly powerful Parliamentary and democratic system i.e. more stable than the dynasty based European monarchies.

The Kingdom of Sweden hereby issues a call to arms among the Protestant states of Europe to unite against the spreading Catholic disease. The call for an alliance of neccessity between ourselves, Russia, Great Britain, the Netherlands, Prussia and Denmark is called for to defeat this great threat. Please respond as swiftly as possible.

Also, we call on the French nation NOT to join this unholy Catholic alliance of the Spain and the Holy Roman Empire. We respect the French nation and would not wish war on it. Cast out this warmongering evil and no war shall come to pass between our two nations. To the rest of the Protestant world, join us in standing up to this Catholic pestilence. Who will answer me?

King Karl X of Sweden.

We wish that wars were not fought for God's holy kingdom, but as times progress so do wars. You have undoubtedly heard of Swedish plans for Apparent World domintation. Me beg of you not to enter this conflict, as we consider you the a honorable nation and would not wish English blood to be spilt in this most un-godly war. Weather or not your troops enter these battles the Holy Roman Empire shall fight the Protestant Coalition.

Great Britain is not interested in your religious squablles on the continent. Though Papists are among our enemies, we consider our war against France in the Americas to be of more import than those who make much noise about how someone worships the Lord God.

ooc: can I just say, the only reason the protestant coalition was formed was because of the Catholic Alliance that was created in the first place. So it is a defensive alliance, not 'world domination'.

OOC: Can I just say, it is unrealistic and stupid to come to explain in OOC how someone's IC explanation of the situation is wrong, if you don't like it then post your answer IC as the King of Sweden or something. That OOC is just unfair and, well, n00bish way to make things easy to you.

n00bish.... never say that again. I despise that word, it implies one person is more of a geek than another. and its just plain insulting. im explaining as moderator so that he knows which alliance was formed first. don't insult me again. im getting pissed off with you adding stuff to my comments. most of the ooc comments I make are as moderator to explain a situation. thats my job. to help the game run smoothly. and if it helps him make a decision without forcing him to trawl through all of the threads then thats just part of my job. okay?

OOC: Man, I am not trying to insult you. Fact still remains that your way of answering and reacting in OOC to help your own in-game situation to other people IC diplomacy is far from what I consider decent playing. That stupid word n00bish was used solely because I have been in couple of RP's in where this way of giving OOC in response for IC was used by newcomers in very, very childish way. This reminded those unpleasant events, that's all. Insulting wasn't in my intresses, and I apologize for this.

Forcing the other player to go through different threads, to be actually active and show that he can make desicions by his own without OOC explanation from the moderator is part of the game, and far better option of those two, IMO.

However, you are the leader. Again, I apologize for my hasty and unnecessary hostile words towards you... Your game, your rules. I will interrupt you no more.

I do appreciate input but I am just helping the game to get going. When an RP is started it has to have a certain bit of moderator input to start the first few storylines smoothly (IMO) so that was my motivation there. I shall refrain once the play kicks in however.

Just reminding you that you are currently fighting the French over in America. Check the main thread for details and post troop dispositions and tactics either here or in the main news thread.

A most polite request:

As Austria has decidet that it must strenghten its influence in the Mediteranium we would ask you, as the finest ship makers to build our fleet, wich would be well paid. it would be looked over by our experts to prevente any 'accidents'.

We thank you in advance and await you reply.

Sweden would like to reaffirm her neutrality in the current war between yourselves and France, we hold both countries in high regard and are lothe to see conflict on the continent when there are bigger enemies, such as the Catholic Alliance. Please accept our neutrality on this matter of the Americas.

Diplomatical Message to the King of England, via Dutch traders

Greetings far away lord!

Japan has up too now refused to let any foreigners into Japan proper and go with the flow of time. From stories heared from Dutch merchants Japanese military forces are hopelessly outdated. We wish to modernize our armed forces and navy. In return trade may be opened between Japan and Engeland.

Several months go by where the Japanese recieve no reply. Than, as aumtumn begins, the new Japanese squadron of the Royal navy sails into Edo(Tokyo) Bay. The massive ship of the line Antelope, and the frigates Actaeon, Danae, and Southampton and several transport vessels. A boat is launched from the Antelope, and several British naval officers step ashore, accompaied by a detatchment of red coated marines.

Reply to Shogun Tokugawa Ieharu, via the newly created Japanese Squadron

[i]Greeting and salutations, Lord Tokugawa,

The United Kingdom of Ireland and Great Britain would conisder it a privlege to modernise your army, navy, and country. On board the ships is a company of the Grenadier Guards, a famous and skilled regiment of soldiers. These men will assist in making you a force to be reckoned with in the Far East. We hope that these, in addition to other services provided, will allow Japan to be a dear friend and aly of Great Britain.

His Majesty, King of the United Kingdon of Ireland and Great Britain, George III

The British Army is being mobolised, and patrols of the channel by Royal Navy vessels have been increased. Several frigates(3) have been dispatched to the Americas in order to insure security.
