I said tankers!
'ello. You like tanks, right? Good. The Igovian Soviet Commonwealth of Beth Gellert likes tanks, too. It typically prefers swords, sex, booze, and good-spirited mayhem, but, you know, needs must.
The point is (I say this now because I know I'm going to end up rambling and putting you off) I want a bit of help/input on tweaking our current front-line MBT with a view to making it more realistic!
In the past we've had a few original tanks, but they were only worked-out to a moderate degree, if that makes sense. You know, I'd give them specifications based on real tanks and chopped about a bit, modified, but meant only to be basically reasonable.
I didn't spend a lot of time thinking about how and why, and gave only a cursory nod to what changing statistic A means for statistic B.
Now...
MT-4 Karhu (Brown Bear) [or Hathi (elephant) in the group AMW] is our current front-line battle tank (though MT-1, 2, and 3 are still in service).
It is modern tech, and when I say modern tech I don't mean, "oh, well we could do it in reality if we wanted, or if we had five billion people in one wonderful economy" because that's not the case! Now is now, not now-in-theory or sort-of-now.
This is a modern tank that I want to take into account realistic capabilities and the character of my nation's people/society, and that I want to... actually make sense.
Okay, I'm going to put the information about the tank -as it has stood until now- in a new post so it doesn't look like so much clutter at once. Then I'm going to pick at it bit by bit and I hope that you will help me with that! You guys like that, right? Yeah, you're a bunch of vultures, right? ;)
