This is the OOC thread for the Saudi-Ottoman War, part of the Age of Imperialism Campaign (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=433496&page=1&pp=15); you have to be part of that campaign to play in this one. The RP thread is here (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=448669).

There are a number of open positions available; players who wish to participate should select a European power that could get involved and join the main RP thread as that nation. Here’s the list of participants so far:
The House of Sa’ud (open [formerly played by Skibereen])
The House of Hashim ([Narodna Odbrana [as a minor ally of the Dual Monarchy])
The House of Rashid (The Andromedan [as a minor ally of the Porte])
The House of Khalid (The Andromedan [as a minor ally of the Porte])
The Sublime Porte a/k/a the Ottoman Empire (The Andromedan)
The Austro-Hungarian Empire a/k/a “the Dual Monarchy” (Narodna Odbrana)
The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland (Latiatis)
The Russian Empire (Karaska)
The United States of America (Narodna Odbrana [proxy])
The Grand Empire of Germany (Relative Liberty)
The Third Republic of France (Bogmihia [open])
The Kingdom of Italy (Voxio)Nations in red do not have players.

Not all of the nations listed above are likely to participate; they are listed as possible participants, mostly in the event that the conflict spreads.

The RP begins in 1912, following the end of the Balkan Wars. Now that these wars are at an end, the Porte has turned its attention southward, toward the Arabian Peninsula, where the House of Sa’ud took Mecca a year earlier. Mecca was previously under the control of the House of Hashim, a vassal of the Porte; both the Porte and its Austrian and Hungarian allies want Mecca returned to the head of the House of Hashim, the Sharif of Mecca.
