ViZion considering legalizing torture

Recent events have brought up an idea that has been banned for hundreds of years - torture.

The supporters of legalizing torture say it will help even more to stop crime in ViZion, even though crime in ViZion is among the lowest of most nations.

They also say it should be a requirement to be used on those who commit treason on ViZion, as well as captured military units and leaders of enemy nations and terrorist groups. They say it will help to extract information from them.

However, the opposition - which is by and far much larger than the supports - say that even flogging should be banned, and torture would be even worse. They say ViZion cannot allow such methods to be used. The inhumanity of it would be to much for ViZion to bare, and many nations, they note, will likely turn against ViZion, even if they are currently supporters of it.

A decision is not expected immediately, and we will keep you up-to-date on many major developements on this!

Sir,

Of the 7 nations that make up the Holy Empire of Saint Fedski, 6 are against this proposal as it severely infringes on human rights. However, The Confederacy of the Fish (a "nation"), currently uses torture to scare the populous and enemy soldiers. in the great rebellion of 1950, The Confederacy of the Fish was the leading movement but as since been oucast from the rest of the Holy Empire due to its stance on human rights. This is believed to be fairly representative of the the world's views on torture and human rights and a good example of what would happen should you decide to legalize torture.

President Delain has been reported to fully support this movement, however a large percentage of the government officials, including those in the Senate and Congress, are completely against its usage.

The Morvonian goverment supports this but is very cautious of when to use it(physical torture) but use phychological torture more.
