And From the Darkness...((FT Introduction))

The United Sith Empire

OOC:I would greatly appreciate it if other players did not simply ignore this post. I truly want to begin my Future Tech nation with a sort of bang, perhaps a few players would be so kind as to post encountering the fleet or something.

Thousands upon thousands of ships rolled fourth from the Outer Rim. Seemingly out of no where, from beyond the frozen stars and the cold, black void that was the space beyond Outer Rim. Many of the ships within the fleet were a slick silver, which caused them to shine brilliantly with the stars reflection.

How ever, many more were pitch black, blending perfectly with the black void. Though all of the Capital ships the fleet contained were well over the 3,000 meter mark, one dwarfed even these. It was pitch black, and inspired fear with it's very presence, for this vessel was the Flagship of Darth Malice. This vessel was The Wraith

Darth Malice him self was a mystery. Few had ever seen him physically, and lived to tell the tale. Only the sailors and officers aboard his flagship were luck, or rather, unlucky enough to be in his presence.

There was one thing, though. Malice was no man. Indeed, the omni-powerful Dark Lord of the Sith was in fact, a woman. Though her style of dress and her figure could easily give the opposite idea.

Malice was a tall, imposing figure. She stood at six foot two inches, and though she had a slender body, her black robes and under-garments gave her a far more masculine figure than it truly was.

Malice sat, in a dark, leather chair on the bridge of The Wraith, facing the large window over-looking the void before her. As mentioned before, the Lord Malice wore dark robes with a hood, obscuring her raven black hair. And a mask obscured her face. The mask had eerie, glowing silver eyes. It was also covered in hundreds, perhaps thousands of small, razor sharp spikes. The mask seemed have an extremely violent glare. An everlasting expression of violence, hatred and aggression. It was mostly silver to match the eyes of the mask, which contrasted with the rest of her attire. The Dark Lord also wore simple, black boots with a small three inch heel, which gave her an even more imposing height.

Malice hated femine titles, and so that is why she took the traditional title of "Dark Lord" rather than that of "Dark Lady". This also lead to further confusion about the gender of the Dark Lord amongst the grunts.

This fleet's goal sharply contrasted with that of past Sith Fleets. Indeed, this one was not rolling fourth to crush the Republic. Instead, it was leaving the Galaxy which so many other Dark Lords had tried to conquer. Malice wanted to find another, weaker Galaxy. One where the were no Jedi to hamper her goals.

Many thought this was impractical, they could search for ever and find no worthy Galaxy to conquer. But no one dared to contest Malice's will. Malice was sure she would find Sentient life outside her home Galaxy.

Sure she would find an advanced civilization.

And sure that she would conquer it.

OOC: I can only stress the annoyance at seeing someone with 1 post, say he/she has a fleet of ship all over 'the 3,000 meter mark' and a ship even bigger. Its not economical nor militarily posssible for a nation your size to even attempt that. Its not a bad intro, but your biting into a sour apple and just took too big a bite.

OOC: Actually, it's legit if his entire nation is that fleet.

OOC: It takes 38,000 men to man a fully armed Imperial Star Destroyer, that is 1.6 kilometers long. (1,600 meters). Its considered a God-mod by most to use more than 5% of ones population for the military, then what would stop others who are in the billions from doing the same. According to his ships (at 3,000 meters) and that it is a ratio of 23.75 men: to one meter of a star destroyer, it would take roughly 71,250 men for him to man one 3,000 meter long vessel. And considering that his economy is not very strong I would be hard put to believe he could build a fleet of them, and a ship that 'shadowed' these 3,000 long ships.

OOC: To be fair the 5% mark is dependant on economics and military. That and the fact that my nation is based primarily on War itself; with half my budget spent on Defence, and a Frightening Economy; I usually use between 5-10%

To be fair, his technique is flawless; just the numbers are a little iffy. He doesn't specify what kind of ships they are, however. You state the number of people needed to run a Star Destroyer; where does he say star destroyer?

If he lessens the fleet; or if it contains his Entire nation; then I see no problem with a frankly glowing introductory RP compared to the usual "I declare war on teh UN" Nonsense.

OOC:

Seeing as The United Sith are simply an alternate account of mine, and I just happened to be logged into this account for the time being, I will answer this statement with this account.

As for it not being econimical nor militarily possible for a nation the size of TUSE to have such an armada, I can come up with a number of explainations. First being that if you've ever played Knights of the Old Republic, you'd know how Sith can produce mass fleets with little, if any cost. I could simply say "They found another Star Forge" and that'd be the end of it, but that's not how I work.

As with most Future Tech nations, I really don't follow the limitations of MT ones. The economy of Nations on NS is really confined to modern economics. It really doesn't consider the kind of economy nor population a Galaxy-spanning empire would have.

And speaking of population, most of TUSE's population is Military, but not entirely. Many of them are slaves and the like, used to build the afore mentioned ships.

Maybe I'm making a fool out of my self here, but I really don't think so. I'm just trying to have fun, and if my idea of fun is saying "I have a ub33r l33t Fleet that can pwn j00!" or the like, than why do you care? If you consider it god-modding or unfair, simply don't reply. And now I may have just rambaled about something that doesn't even relate to what's being discussed. Oh well.

[Also, excuse any typos or mispellings I have made. It's late here.]]

OOC: nah, that was a good post THL.
and for my tuppenyworth i think that was a good first post and i must say, if you decide to play outside normal rules i.e. a nomadic nation in FT (like my almost appeared new one) or a terrorist in MT, or a true communist in MT or PMT (like me) then nationstates can't simulate that properly. (it isn't wonderful with comparitive growth rates for nations who shoot all imigrants on sight and keep losing people who are discontent and nations who welcome all imigrants and get lots of them either).

Anyway, i say let this get a bit further and then if it goes godmodish, then step on the people who started it.

BTW, THL, do you still recognise my embassy in your nation (and mine in yours after i've been off for a couple of months?)

((It would be easier on the imagination if the majority of your fleet was in the 1.6km mark... its easier for most to base measurements off the Star War's Imperial Star Destroyer. Or in this case, the Leviathan class that was in the KOTOR games.))

*Ping... ping... ping...*

A single Svent Class was in high orbit around a gas giant at the other end of the system. It had been there the last few weeks taking detailed readings and mapping all the celestial bodies it encountered while it floated through the system. So far it had been quite dull, routine, that was until sensors picked up massive energy signals coming into this planetary system. The small ship of a dozen crewmembers exploded into activity as the ship was prepared to enter stealth mode, allowing them to use their cloaking device to any proficiency.
When encountering a possible threat, ships of the Draconic Order, specifically military ships, were to run stealth and reconnaissance missions and report to the nearest fleet HQ. So the ship logically went black as it powered down all systems and engaged the cloak, using just a small burst of energy to break orbit and move at quarter speed towards the center of the system.

Lord Malice's fleet continued driving fourth into this unknown galaxy, only days into the journey. Then, one of her advisors walked up to her. He bowed before her, and she simply stared at him, still sitting.

"Lord Malice, we have detected a medium sized planet in this system with Sentient life forms. The planet is also rich in alloy's and other resources, which will greatly contribute to our cause if..."

Malice already knew, and simply nodded. And so the order was given. The fleet would conquer this planet, and it would be the begining of an empire.

[[OOC: I will probably make a new thread for the planet-conquering bit, just so you know Draconic.]]

((Righteo...))

Another expansionist stellar nation had made its presence known, that was just what the Dominion needed right now. Their plans for the system would have to wait, what was needed right now was at least a partial profile of these imperialists. The corvette would stay in system for as long as deemed necessary by the captain, then would report its findings before getting itself blown to bits.
