"The nation of Potty 5 is vast geographically. Though the country is huge, most of the land is not suitable for development. The tertian is extremely mountainous, riddled with countless streams and rivers, and covered with thick jungles. There are not really any seasonal weather differences; the country has very high temperatures and humid all year round. The rainfall is high enough to put the nation into the category of a rainforest. The eastern boarder of the country has a coast that is just like much of the rest of the land: wet, hot, humid, mountainous jungle.
Most of the populous live in villages but a large and growing portion live in cities. The cities are just as modern as any other city in the world with any thing that a person could imagine. The capital and largest city, Monkey 13 City, has 23 million residence as well as 4 large, modern airports. Monkey 13 City is also home to the Imperial City a smaller section that is walled off from the rest of the city where only civil servants, military officials, royalty, and a select few guests are permitted.
Most villagers are farmers. The primary crop of Potty 5 is rice though bamboo and soy are also common. In addition fresh water fishing is a huge resource of Potty 5; the national dish is steamed boneless fresh water eel in a pot with rice. Salt water fish and seafood are also very popular but only available on the coast or in the cities.
Potty 5 is run by the legendary, and mythical Fat Monkey 13. Whether or not the current emperor is actually the “lesser” immortal of Potty 5 myth is questionable as most outsiders consider him to be insane, and or an imposter. Most of the fiercely patriotic citizens beg to differ. The locals claim that the Emperor has been ruling the country since 1897 when he returned from a 4,000 thousand year absence. The oldest photograph of the emperor is from 1914 and show a man that is indistinguishable from the current emperor but critics point out that it is impossible that they are the same man, claiming instead they just look the same. If you ask me all Poty 5iens look the same.
The Fat Monkey 13 of legend is a “lesser” immortal. This is to distinguish him from the “great” immortals, and the “greater” gods. He supposedly had great magical powers and could raise volcanoes, summon demon armies, and control dragons, as well as brain eating monsters like those of HP Lovecraft. He is said to be able to return from hell if he is ever killed at will and can ever return to existence after the universe ends. The current Emperor has not shown any such powers though he claims that this is not the universe that the legends come from but rather that universe was destroyed, many times over and that this is a world where magic is very weak and that the greater gods don’t hold any power.
Potty 5 is communist or a more accurate way to put it would be radical socialist. There is no legal private business, all business are government run (though the people who are actually doing the work have a great deal of freedom in running the business). The government provides free education, healthcare, as well as any other necessity.
Despite being an imperial socialist dictatorship people have excellent civil rights, and the economy is strong. Political freedoms are few, as there are no elections and the Emperor can make any decision he wishes without the consent of the people or any other person. There is no freedom of speech, and if a person is considered too dangerous he will be abducted and taken away to a mental institution (“for the people and the raving lunatic’s benefit”) though the government allows, and even encourages people to criticize any aspect of the government they wish without any consequences. In fact there are many daily radio shows that revolve around government criticism.
Potty 5 is known to be very open sexually. People are permitted to go about their business in the nude. Homosexual marriages are permitted as is polygamy and it is completely normal for couples to “cheat” on each other. There are no law regarding pornography, and prostitution is entirely legal as long as you are a government prostitute. The royalty and high ranking civil servants and military officials even have concubines. The emperor is said to have hundreds.
The government of Potty 5 recently stopped all of its support of religion as it believes that this is a personal matter and that in this world the otherworldly no longer hold much power. Despite religion was never really a big issue in Potty 5 as it was indistinguishable from the culture, and eventually just became superstition, tradition, and ritual loosing its religious meaning.
The language of Potty 5 is Monkyen (Mon as Monday, Ky as key, and en as in end). This language’s spoken form is an aggregate of two easily distinguishable parts. One is that every word has multiple pronunciations, usually at least one monosyllabic tonal, and one polysyllabic monotone. The written form is based on that of the Chinese though it predates… according to legend. It is definitely based on Chinese as the official dictionary (only one is known to exist, It is in possession of the Emperor) contains every single glyph known Chinese glyph, as well as al the glyphs that appear in the book from heaven, all glyphs that are unique to Japan, Vietnam, and Korea, as well as Jurchen, Khitan, Naxi. Tangut, and many others. It is reported that there are over 6 times 10 to the 23rd power glyphs but this is unsubstantiated. Whatever the number is only 9000 are needed to read over 99.9% of texts. One issue that most foreigners find unsettling is the government’s power to take any child under the age of 12 months and raise them as soldiers. These individuals do not have any freedom but there are no reports of one of these troops ever objecting, even when he learns of the freedoms of his fellow citizens. Even though this practice exists the government takes very few children. Estimates of the number of children taken range from a high of 3% to less then ½ of a percent. Rumors exist that there are soldier breeding facilities hidden in remote arias but such things are unsubstantiated. "
