Fireworks ignite in the night time sky with-in the capital city of Ankar bringing an end to a day of celebrations which mark the one year anniversary of independence for The Republic of Ankaristan. Throughout the whole nation, crowds gathered in the streets chanting slogans and firing AK-47’s towards the sky, all to mark the victory of the Black Fists of Allah Party’s rise to power. A long time in the making which brought on many years of hardship not foreseen by the original Shiite settlers who settled in the area.
It began in 1959 when Turkish born and schooled Ayatollah Assad Harsallah was labelled by the Turkish as extremely dangerous and his teachings outlawed as a result. The Ayatollah and 3,800 followers from his Grand Mosque in Ankara fled there Turkish homeland in hopes of building a Shiite society free from Sunni conflicts.
Arriving in the then named Dominion in the 60’s, the group settled a piece of land in the southwest far from any civilization and named it Ankar, they then set about to call for any Shiite who wished live in a truly Shiite based society. It wasn’t long before Muslims from all around the world began to pour into the little corner, urging this growth was the construction of the Grand Mosque of Ankar.
As the early 70’s rolled in and the Grand Mosque not completed , Ankar buried the Ayatollah who succumb to natural causes. With close to a half million people living in an area best describes as a city state, things begin to heat up inside the Muslim house of worship as prospects vie for leadership in the power vacuum created from the passing.
It is at this time that Corporations and millionaire adventures from around the Dominion begin to notice the potential for the area and begin to invest, creating the infrastructure needs necessary for the growth of a nation such as Hospitals, Schools, Mines, roads, transit even a little airport is built. Two men particularly urge this growth, former execs, Anudurevi G. Sumiti and Natanili M. Daiterusi, from the Smith & Deiters company move in and fund the campaign of the small Republican Party formed. By the late seventies these two men had created the backbone of a republican based nation with border lines and even a constitution, far from the vision of the founding Ayatollah.
It was because of this direction that the Black Fists of Allah Party was born. Fed up with outside interference, groups of militants begun there campaigns of removing the Republic and establishing an Islamic Republic based on Harsallah teachings and led by the young Azizullah Mubarak. One hundred militants stormed the recently completed Grand Mosque of Ankar and removed the foreigner backed Ayatollah. Loudspeakers soon rang out with the call for Ayatollah Mubarak to power.
Though removed three days later by force the damage had been done and the civil war begun. Militants soon banded together under the flag of the Black Fists of Allah Party all across the land and instigated armed conflict with any and all republic supporters. The group gained strength quickly under the leadership of Ayatollah Mubarak and seized much of what was considered the country side, then concentrating there attacks on Republican strong holds in Ankar proper.
As the mid eighties raged, the Grand Mosque finally came under Mubarak’s control. Republican supporters weak in numbers fled to the forest and hillsides, resulting in the use of the tactics of the BFA party on the BFA party. Any control Mubarak gained the republicans quickly made efforts to destroy, infrastructure built-up was quickly brought down.
In the mid nineties the republican establishment in its last fighting days begins a series of attacks which only weaken there cause. Outside money and better weapons for defence were being used by the BFA party, supplied by a long time friend found in the D’Agastino family of the Imperial Defence Corp.
Money and Weapons siphoned from the Imperial Empire Corporation was big news in 1996 when news leaked that the 2nd cousin to the Emperor was illegally selling arms to foreign nations. Exact buyers still to this day have to be figure out, as Nicolas D’Agastino wasn’t going to stick around and tell them.
