War Between Waldenburg and Leugue OF Free Colonies (FT. Open For Awhile)

Waldenburg 2

The ambassadorial shuttle clipped through the asteroid field, through the path of the destruction inflicted by the W.I.S Institutional. The MAC guns cut through what once was an impenetrable barrier.

“My lord, the planet will be in visual range in seconds, the large smoking crater would be our embassy. Also sir The Ibblesguard fleet will be on your left, you will be meeting with their Grand Admiral Felix Covert.” Droned an aide in a petulant whiny quality.

“ Really, capital we shall soon be able to nod and smile at the excuses that they feed us, have you ever wondered why our embassy exploded once we introduced taxes on all forms of mining? And how the entire Ibblesguard fleet has been arranged in battle formation, and ho….”

His tirade was cut short by a transmition from an incoming wing of fighters “Turn back, this is League of Free Colonies Territory, your ship does not have clearance.”

“This is an ambassadorial shuttle, there is no force under the stars that can stop diplomacy, move aside” the ambassador spoke in icy tones.
Again before he could start another sentence, a small missile fired from the lead fighter, draining the shields of the shuttle instantly. A volley of 30mm cannon shells knocked out most systems, and killed the aide and painted the wall of the shuttle a chunky grey color, all in one go. The engines still worked the ambassador grabbed the helm and aimed it back towards the W.I.S Institutional. He smiled as the modified shuttle outdistanced the much larger fighters. The smile liquefied as the warship turned into a blazing blue ball expanding out into space.

“Our soldiers are the best on this world or the next, no amount of allies could stop the Penkahouffe Regiments, or the Gurhounded Division. As the crew of the Institutional burned in space, our factories blaze with patriotism and the Juggernuaght that is Waldenburg shall not be stopped.” The propaganda film spun to an end as visions of soldiers marching in dress uniform and flags waving.

Wyatt Von Waldenburg III looked back at a few select members of the senate “Well gentlemen, you must be congratulated, indeed no one can conquer the Gurhounded Division no one in the universe, except the Gurhounded Division it’s self.”

The Waldenburg Empire is a cruel organization, bent on the creation of more weapons with our, now 65% tax. With these weapons they, randomly, at their will take 1 in every 4 men to be in the Imperial army. We beg for assistance, our forces can barely hold off pirate raids, not even to speak of a navy 35 times larger than ours. We throw our selves on your good will.

Well i'm not exactly sure what you mean, but all the same. The Waldenburg navy will be here in about 14 hours our plan is to engage them lightly, fall back once we have recieved slight damage and wait for them to land troops. Once the fighters are down protecting the dropships, hopefully any navy available to us shall attack the carriers leaving no place for the fighters to land but on the planet this will leave them nearly undefended. We hope to soon capture them once they land they number at least 1,200, and our forces are untrained. We also must warn you the the Waldenburg navy has at least 400 ships of the line in the battle group. We hope that we can depend on you to hold back the Jingonistic devils.

"Admiral on deck!" came the cry as Admiral Ajax Sloan stepped onto the bridge of his personal Halcyon-class flag ship, the Ambitious. He could hear the cracking of several backs as a dozen or so men shot to their feet, spines straightened.

"At ease," he called to the room in general before setteling down to watch the Tactical Viewer. It was only a matter of time now...

The boder world of CAA-024 was house to a small military outpost, it was a empty system with little of worth to anyone. Striped mined long ago during the old Empire.

Alex was stting down at his station on night watch, the system never really had anything interesting happen in it. The outpost was old and really just a massive Com Relay for the Military branches and some of the Civilan corporations. He wished that he got a posting somewhere elce with more action something that was more interesting rather then watching com chatter and the likes.

But something interesting did happen for once, as he watched the chatter and he noticed something that he'd never seen befor.

"Sir, em....i got a ple for help from some space fareing nation named Ibblesguard, we've had no contact but they seem to really need help." Alex said to his CO on the bridge.

"what....vary well send it though to Colonial Federal High command find out what they think of it" the Co said.

"aye sir" Alex replyed, sending the message on a Encrypted channel with a high priority.

"The colonial forces are ready to help....the Senate agrees that we should help. but you federals...bah you dont wnat anything." a Colonial Fleet Admiral said, stairing at the Federal General.

"its not the Federals Armies job to fight off some unknown aliens on some alien world, thats the Colonials job hell the Federal Army barely holdsup compared to the Colonial marines." The general reply.

"1 Division is all im asking, the god dam Division at port aurther can board the 101st, the 9th and the 89th fleets" the colonial Fleet admiral asked.

"....fine only since your sending the 101st how meny colonial divisions you sending?"

"4 in total with 2 more in reinforcements, we also gathering the 191st fleet our ships are departing now but we're awaiting a Location to go to, a message has been sent as we speak and we expect a reply within the hour tho who knows."

We have recived your call for help and in responce we are currently gathering a small Experdition Force but are in need of the location for our forces to go to, along with this Experdition force we are sending 4 divisions of our finiest elite Troops and 1 Divsion of our standard forces. You are honored really we are sending 2 of ou finest and eliteist fleets the 101st and the 89th. we are also gathering one of our other elite fleets but that will take a few weeks to gather.

OOC: http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=448048 fact book, currently only shows Colonial Marines and fleet layout. My fleets compared to others are small (dont think they top even 50 ships a fleet) its the reason why i have something in the number of a total of 23 active fleets.

Well it's Oct. 6th so from now on telegram Waldenburg 2 if you would like to join. So those that are in already, post when you can, one more point DIMMs is Grand admiral of the Waldenburg fleet, and commands all but one fleet belonging to Jacon Hartlieb Duke Of Mintasburg. So let the fighting begin

IC- It was a beautiful sight, 412 ships and thier tenders, hundreds of fighters in long V's blue fire trailing out behind. The fleet had been there, at the remote trading outpost of Garhand 7, for 2 days loading the 125,000 Troops needed for the occupation of the planet, everyone knew it would be an easy fight, but high command found it practical to pack nearly 2 years worth of supplies.

"Your grace, reports from the Captains of the Rearhand, Lockheart, and The Fin Of God sir, all reporting fighters and troops ready." Captain Verhand Scot yelled above the explosions created from the testing of the fusion cannons. All ships had been ordered to test their weapons, globs of plasma had reduced an asteroid field to a fine powder.

The guns stopped " Right then detach our ships, and full speecd towards ol' Johnny Foriegner, we'll show em' nothing like a glob a plasma to put down a rebellion. " The duke roared out while slapping some officers on thier backs.

"Sir don't you think we could wait for the rest of the fleet it'll only be a minute, what would our 8 ships do against an enemy fleet."

"They could put down a crowd of rabel being lead by some man with a funny foriegn name, now Mr. Scot full speed tworads the Ferron system." The 8 ships peeled off from the group gliding into, what could be honer and glory or a sharp and firey death.

Admiral Sloan watched as eight ships dropped out of formation and activated their FTL drives. Oh, bloody hell, he thought.
"Let me guess who that was..."
"The Duke Of Mintasburg, sir"
"All right," said the Admiral, "I know how this ship works. If there's going to be a pool, I'll start it. Twenty wibbles says by the time we get there, he'll be in full retreat." And so the betting began. Not thirty seconds later, bets from sections all over the ships were ringing through the comm. lines.
The Ops officer leaned over and whispered in Sloan's ear, "Sir, the final checks have just been completed on the shipments. We're ready to go."
"Helm, signal the fleets and ready the FTL drive. Let’s go see who wins this bet…"

In so meny years had the colonial fleets gathered in such numbers, Port Aurther was a major colonial Base and a mining system. The massive Colonial Fleet starbase was out in the far reaches of the system in a vary slow orbit, all over the massive station ships were docking in and out of the station all the time of its being.

All around the station the task forces of the fleets were gathering, so far 101st and the 9th fleets were ready to depart with full complement of marines. Under the command Fleet Admiral Mark Ravac he was one of the best Fleet admirals around a, Vet of the Free Colony War 10 years ago.

Mark looked round the bridge of his flagship, the CFGN Black Death the largest fleet carrier in the combined fleets over 900 meter long and the only one of its kind. It alone carryed over 4 Aerospace wings and a few more guns then a normal fleet carrier.

"report?" Mark said carmly, he was tall and well built even for a 50 year old, his hair was white but long tied back into a pony tail.

"the 101st and the 9th are ready to go underway, the 89th will be ready within the day. Also high command has forwarded the location of the Ibblesguard home system." his 2nd in command replyed.

"vary well, tell the fleet and the 9th to enter hyperjump to the Cords given tell Rear admiral Kosh that the 89th is to joy us ASAP." Mark Ordered, "open all comm systems Fleet wide i want all of them to hear it."

The ships slowly entered hyperjump, entering hyperspace as they travaled to Ibblesguard home system. In a blick of an eye the ships were vanishing, if sound could taval in space the sound of mutiply nuclear weapons going off would be heared but sound cant.

"Personel of the Colonial Federal Goverment armed forces, today we go to war to defend an unknown people from a foe we dont know anything about. We will not all make it back, we all know this and accept this fate. In the CFG armed forces we are trained to keep our mission in mind and let nothing get in the way, but now i ask you take a step back and look around you, the faces you see are not just friends and military buddys. They are your brothers and sisters in battle, the people you count on to bring you back in times of war you have to forget your petty problems and do the job in hand and look out for each other. Even tho we may not all come back i promiss this we are all comeing home, dead or alive you are all coming home." Mark said giving the que to cut the transmission and looking round, "tactical i want you lot to start drawing up plans for when we get there you ahve 2 hours. Our traval time i take it is..."

"3 and a half hours sir" Is 2nd in command said not even looking up from his data pad.

"right, i also want battle drills done on all ships 2 each hour. I want all crews to be ready as soon as we get there."

"yes sir" rang across the bridge.

And so it had started in marks eyes, the CFG was now going to be plunged into a war that could spread into the Colonial Federal Goverment of CorpSac itself if things go badly, and so had started.

Admiral Felix Covert dragged out slowly.

" Sah, incoming squadron Mark 6.126 eight ships, at least 2 Kilometers long each" shouted the only other man on the bridge, Gunnery seargent Nebile Polkine.

"CorpSac already, they aren't do for an hour" he walked over to the holomap. "Oh gods it's coming from the Waldenburg empire's direction, they aren't do for 3 hours, or satellites varified that. Belay the last orders, luanch all fighters and cut the fanning distance to 2.56 all togeather."

" Ol' Bally jingo is going to get his cumumpance, when he get's a taste of ol' jolly plasma. Will you Mr. Scot, take us out of Hyperthinginy and get us into cannon range" the duke shouted.

"Yes sir, we will be in firing range of apparently the Kolpine in exactly 1 minute. All stations and ships report readiness, fighters have been luanched. Incoming report from the Fin Of God, other ships aproching not of the W.I.S fleet unknown number and oragin." Sighed Captain Scot

"Ignore them power the fusion cannons, give them a volley of fusion right up...." in the works of censorship Captain Scot presses the little red button which would send burning globs of plasma into the void. This was followed by the little orange button which would allow 38400 tons from the arranged ships. Ibblesguard would hopefully soon burn.

The last shell dove through the barrier of rock hopefully connecting with some small but important bit of a ship.

"Right Admiral Sloan will be pleased now that the work has been done for him again. I'm sure we needed 412 ships to take this embarasment for a solar system. There are still ships out there, so on my signal the squadron will form a line and move one by one in." boisteriously shouted to the crew.

Soldiers ran from the bridge into the communications room to signal the other 7 ships. In 4 minutes the trained piolts had all 576 fighters out of the ships, ready to face nearly anything.

" Ah... Yes that's everyone to thier place. The fleet will advance"

The fleets were under an hour away, little news had come though from CFGN High command. The moral of the fleet was high across the board, drills had the crewsready for anything yet still, Hyperjump side effects for such a long jump would need some time to recover and it what mark hoped for. But it wouldnt be so.

"Sir problem" his CO said.

"what now? another crew men going though Jump Madness?"he asked, so far 6 crew men had fallen ill to the sickness. A temporary condition that made the mind act funny most of the time in ways that wont enflict harm on anyone, but with this long jump that had changed.

"no sir, its a transmission from one of our long range Probes, seems like our friends have started the party without us. Seems we wont get that rest we hoped for."

"tactical what you think?" Mark asked.

"we're out numbered thats for shore, we say hold the mian fleet back harras the Enemy fleet with the Fightersand bombers, have the 9th Flank the enemy useing its heavy assault groups to batter them. We should target carriers and command ships, once we do that we should be able to mope up the rest with ease. Also think a bluff is in order." the tactical officers said.

"comm, send this message to the Waldenburg 2 ships on a open channel, then send this message to the Ibblesguard. Code 6 Encyption." Mark ordered

"aye sir"

The Bombardment of the Ibblesguard fleet had gone badly, one cruiser had been destroyed by a 400 ton shell to the Ion engines.

"Fine will play by their rules, arm the torpedo tubes with the anti-fighter missiles, will see how an asteroid field can stand 10 megatons of nuclear warhead. Captain clear the field then attack, vanguard formation, we'll form point." Screamed Felix Covert

"No need the ships are moving to a narrow corridor cut at Mark 5.12, sir we finnaly have identification on the ships, all of Waldenburg design. 2 Halcyons Assult cruisers, 6 Bellicous Super Battlecruisers. "
As the Captain finished the sentance, the first cruiser polked it's head through the corridor. The Ibblesguard fleet lit up quickly mostly missiles and MAC shells. Half the ammunition probably would have destroyed the ship but the whole fleet emptied on the single ship.

Ibblesguard Controlled Space

The fleet, having been mobilized to face a threat which was then deemed unecessary to face, was morale broken as they had just been sent into combat...to face none. However, as fate would have it, they would get to use their ships for war...regardless of what the Chronosian hoards decided to do.

However, only a small portion was sent to Ibblesguard Controlled Space, for two main reasons. One, the doubted they would need to send much to sway the enemy, and two, they had yet to discover true enemy numbers. So, a medium-sized assault force. Three Battlecruisers, 14 Destroyers, two Carriers, one Agamemnon Supercarrier outfitted for Marine Invasion, twenty Ion Cannon Frigates, and twenty Flak Frigates.

The battlegroup, in control by the Supercarrier Sajuuk's Light, then handed over command to the Battlecruiser Silvana, seeing her spotless record in combat. The Silvana then hailed nearby Ibblesguardian forces and asked for a sit-rep.

"Ha.. Mr.Scot will you be so good as to fire all Archer Missiles, that should drain shields a bit after that order the fleet, Fusion Cannons I think. Order Fighters to concentrate on the frigates they don't have fighter repulsing weapons."
As the duke paced the deck the 4 Missile tubes, lit up sending 20 megatons of random explosives each after the enemy ship. Before the missiles even came close the fleet fired all fusion rounds towards a small destroyer that had opened up on Dukel flagship.
"Follow my orders! I'll have you all shot, order fighters, converge on Enemy flagship target fighter bays make sure we have a clear run, to the planet. Border Guards infantry on stand-by, pelicans are to land 12 miles from the capital I want this clean."

Admiral Covert watch with glum acceptence as the missiles sped towards his ship. He did some quick addition in his head and figured the weapons would drain his shields to 34%, frowning now he picked up a small phone in his command chair " To all hands, and all ships of the fleet, this is the admiral your orders are to fall back. Follow me, i don't know where were going but it will be bloody tactical!" He put down the phone, looked down on the helmsen, looked up the missile were locked on and they couldn't stop them.

"Incoming message sir, source unknown asking for situation report." Finished Seargent Polkine magically appearing on the bridge.

The Border Guards battle group waited, it didn't take long to reach the Waldenburg Empire's border.

The commander, Sir General Cecil Mellchet paced and shouted at officers finnaly ploping back in his chair "Why were we order to stay here no one needs 70 ships to stand out in the middle of god knows what. It does make a point that the empire sends some new admiral to head up a major invasion and leaves us out here."

A Lieutinent looked up from plotting a star chart "I here things are going fairly well there, we've been getting hourly reports, a squadron has already reached the system and has begin bombardment. Apprently the group was lead by His Grace the Duke of Mintasburg, brave effort everyone says."

"Exactly, that's why we should attack the CorpSac colonials now, and that's why we will, order ships form delta 7 aim us for the nearest fleet."

"Sir" the Lieutinent shot of his seat "That's madness we'll get slaughtered, they must have a massive navy to attack our empire, they will be able to hold us off sir. "

"That's why we're going to do it, they would never expect 70 ships to attack a fortified star system you'll see sir you shall see." The general stepped up started shouting. The officer carrying on most of the sensible conversation thought if both of these fleets they would be extremly in need of a navy. He sighed and activated the FTL drives and shot them into unknown space.

In a flash of quantum probabilities too complex for words to describe, a lone Augustus gunship popped into normal space. With nothing in sight within 50 AUs of its position, it sent a simple pulse through its communications equipments. Behind it, in groups of two or three, then in groups of ten or twelve, the full force of the Waldenburg space navy dropped into existence at fringes of the Ibblesguard system - 225 ships in all.

Admiral Sloan looked of the long-ranged scanner reports and thought to himself, Hmmm... Background radiation would indicate a nuclear strike against the Ibblesguard forces... but there were no weapon discharges recorded before hand. And the only weapon that wouldn't appear on our scanners at this range would be...
"Oh, damn," he said aloud, "Von Waldenburg's been modifying the Archer missiles with nuclear warheads again. They aren't designed for that."

The Admiral turned back to the bridge, "Helm, full speed to the inner system. Ops, order the carriers to the rear and the Patriarchs and half the Halcyons to the front."

Ya i think i shall post my forces entering the system after 2 or 3 posts, that should be just right.

Pelicans zipped out of the Duke's ships dropping the crew of the ships down to the planet, to capture the potential bargaining chip.

"Well we beat off ol' Ibbey, and now we have to take the planet" the Duke briefed a small group of officers mainly consisting of Mostly Majors. " All cavilians are enemies don't hesitate to shoot. Once all pelicans have disembarked thier soliders the fleet shall withdraw, not even we can beat CorpSac alone." The Captains broke and ran to the pelicans, 12 regiments had landed already, hopefully all 17 would make it.

The duke looked over to the Captain of the Fin Of God as he strapped on his sabre "Take a message to Admiral Sloan Reads: Don't think we can't hear you on that bridge of yours. Insuburdination is a hagning offence." As he finished he walked on to the last pelican, as it departed so did the fleet to the position of Admiral Sloan.

Time stood still. A world was under siege. Starships battled above the contested planet in the void of space. Massive projectiles sliced through the ether to collide with reinforced walls, punching holes through them like paper. Stars were stained red by the blood of the innocent and the conquerers alike. It seemed that the newly formed colonial government would fall to the small fleet of capital ships orbiting their world.

Fate smiled upon the doomed world as several beams of coherent light lashed out from the darkness of space, cutting deep gashes across the hull of one of the carriers. Several ships of unknown origin and alien design began to flicker into view near the back of the formation, as if they followed the fleet since they entered the system. By the profile of each, there were three cruisers, a single carrier, and eleven frigates. A wave of bombers were seen leaving the large central bay of the carrier. From the distances involved, it would be less than a minute before the first attack run would hit. Since most of the enemy fleet was near the planet, there was little protection for this doomed ship.

OOC: ok the list of the 4 Systems in the alpha arm:-

Border System Alpha, its the system on its connected to only 1 system. Fleet there.
CAA-01 system, the system connected to Border System, mining system Corporate fleet.
Apex system, system to the right of CAA-01, populated and well guarded by colonial fleet.
Colonial System, system north of CAA-01, populated, colonial fleet but is connected to IS-02 system. Major route for all Reinforcements on short jump.

Then once you try and reach the inner systems then you have a problem, the FTLi would force your ship out of FTL in the outer reaches of the system (all ships includeing mine, the Corporates complain but meh what can you do). tho i dont think your going that far...are you? *looks uneasy*

OOC- Draconic Order, i'm not exactly sure what your doing, if your attacking my larger fleet it's still quite far away still. Or the small squadron that is trying to leave the system. I won't post any space battles, since if you just attacked fleet it would be very hard.

And a question to everyone, what are your shields, Energy based, or plasma shields it is important. If you don't know just tell me what TV show thier from.

IC- The duke of Mintasburg looked out over his 7,000 troops, it would be all they needed to defeat the small police force, inside the capital. The troops had been forced to land only 2 miles away from the city, now Ibblesguard knew where they were and had a good guess as to when they would arrive.

Jacon walked to the Radio Room and dialed up Admiral Sloan on an Encoded channel. " This may be old news to yah but, there's a CorpSac fleet in the area your orders are of course to engage. We can hold here don't fret about being late." He put the headphones down waiting for a reply. Waved to his main body of troops which moved off, most of them could fit on the vehicles they had brought the rest would stay behind and be dropped in by pelican later.

Silvana, Ibbelsguard Controlled Space

The commander watched as his allies were slowly being pushed into a brick wall from which they would have no return. He saw the missles slam into the flagship, and saw the data on his shield drain. Then, he stood from his chair, and made his move.

"All ships, form up. Keep all strike craft on five second alert, we're making a tactical jump."

"Where to, sir?" Questioned Alvice, the ship's AI.

"Right in behind the friendly fleet," he replied calmly.

"Yes sir. Requesting control of Sajuuk's Light's hyperspace core now." There was a pause. "Request granted, making jump."

The battlegroup leapt into the blue void, blinking in and out of existance on this plane as they moved far faster than light could ever hope to. They exited hyperspace approximately three kilometers behind their retreating allies, in a simple formation. All ships save Sajuuk's Light and the carriers were out front, in a wall, barring enemy acess to Ibbelsguard's homeworld. It was both a military and political statement. All strikecraft began to launch and form up as they then hailed both sides.

To Ibbelsguard:
We are stationed behind you. Please retreat back to our position as to avoid friendly fire, and if you so wish, we may take the heat off you for a while. Let us take up the front line for a time.

To Waldenburg 2:
You shall cease fire and leave this space within a five-light-year exclusion zone as soon as possible, or face the severest possible consequences. You have thirty seconds to cease fire, and five minutes to leave.

"Messages sent," said Alvice.

"Good," replied Rowe, the Captain of the Silvana. "All ships hold fire, but ready all weapons and take aim. All strikcraft, ready for combat, and prepare to charge."

And they waited for the inevitable response...

100,000 Km's from the planet of [insert name, i dont think its ever been siad] blinding flashes apeared, for a moment the light didnt disapear and nothing on scanners showed anything. Then the light faded away as the 101st fleet apeared, 100 battle harden ships had apeared from Hyperjump ready for combat. But the 9th hadnt showed yet, where had the 9th gone? another 100 ships handnt apeared from Hyperjump yet.

The carriers were in the center, spreed out evenly with the Frigates and Covettes inbetween to cover them from fighters. Outside that there destroyers and a cruiser protected the outskirts. The 4 Battle groups were at the front and the flanks covering the fleet with heavy weapons. The Recon task force had jumped just ahead to scout out the area, fighters poured out of all the carriers and ships that carryed them. 100s of fighters seemed to escort the fleet, flying close to the ships but just outside the shields.

"Admiral Ravac, All ships report combat ready. Fighters are away and torpedo tubes and missiles are loaded. weapons are locked and Point Defence systems are activated, Order?" His 2nd in command said looking at him.

"Open a channel to all of our ships" he said looking at his 2nd in command. jane blue eyes seemed to look right though him, he always thought she was part of the Psi Core Internal affiars, tho offical theres no such thing.

"done sir" she said smiling.

"ladies and gentlemen, we're on the verge of combat but im shore we are going to be the victors, but this is only the first battle. The 9th fleet is has exited Hyperjump along outer system to slow any reinforcements that the enemy may think they can get though but also to stop any retreating forces. The 101st is to smash its way though to the planet, once there the Dropships covered by Fighters will drop to the surface, main target will be the Captial and other major cities. The Aerospace wings will also provide cover and bombers will run bombing runs on the major force of the enemy. Good luck to you all and may the gods be with you." He said.

"sir we're reading high levels of background readiation, i think someone been having fun with nuclear weapons." the tactical officer said.

"grate, have some of the fighters on missile/torpedo hunting duties" Ravac order.

At that point the fleet started to move towards the planet, weapons ready and fighters preped.

OOC: my 1st shield is energy based while the 2nd sheild (the hull hugging battle shield) is of my own design. It in basic terms creates another layer of armor, they are know as hard shields for that reason but give off a massive thermal reading meaning the ships are easy to sport on Thermal Scans.

anyway i worked how meny ships i had in a fleet and it turned out to be a 100 ships, hence the reason the 9th didnt turn up (i thought useing 200 ships was a bit OTT) tho they are sitting along the outer ege of the system in key points to blockaide the system.

OOC: That's not what he meant by type of shield. There are three basic types of shields: absorbent, reflective, and disintegration.

Absorbent- The most common type of shield. Absorbs the energy of incoming objects and transfers it to a buffer. After the buffer is full, the shields must go down in order to process the energy into a useable form.
(Star Trek, Star Wars)

Reflective- Reflective based shields simply reflect all objects traveling over a certain speed. They are invincible but require enormous amounts of power, have a tendency to over-heat, and can't handle extremely massive objects.
(Dune)

Disintegration- Works by entirely disintegrating incoming objects. Can't handle very dense objects.
(Halo)

And, Christopher Thompson, what fleet did you jump behind? So far, I count 6 seperate fleets. (Seven if you include Draconic Order's.)

Meanwhile on the planet senator Lafarix, watched the incoming armies, it would certaintly take the city. He sighed, there would be no escape "Commander order the police force to stand down. We can't beat them and it will only cause deathes, of innocent people. All senators will either endevour to escape or surrender themselves to Waldenburg forces."

"your execellency, we could hold them untill CorpSac forces arrive, but your will be done sah." Saluted the only general in Ibblesguard, Fredarick Dearhard.

"Good," said the Captain. "Give our enemies the rest of their thirty seconds before we open fire. We have yet to hear of a response from them. Also, get on the horn with our Ibbelsguard allies. The AI tells me a disturbing rumor that our allies surrender their leaders. Verify it. Also, inform them that Sajuuk's Light has been outfitted for Marine Planetary Assault, and could easily smash the enemy that surrounds them."

OOC: Didnt relise that DIMMs, i never really thought of my shields like that. In that case the Energy shields are your bog standard Absorbent shields, no real weakness and no real strength.

Tho the Hard shields are different as i stated, it basicly forms a new layer of armor around the ship. Tho the "hard Shield" doesnt offer lots of protection it does help, its a way it is addying 3 layers, the 2 containment fields that are like your bog standard weak Absorbent shields and the Gas thats been super heated in a confined space to well...become so energtic and boncy within the small field that it turns solid (like if you shake a coke can for a long time it gets rock hard, only the hard shield wont explode on you when it cracks open for reasons that it would be useless to use if it did lol, i still thinking on why tho i think it might just become super cold due to space or something).

Border guard, since your going to attack CAA-01 i will give a basic outline of the system.

Its barron, dead world that is strip mined, Astroid belts (2 one in front of the Mining world and one behind, about the same distance as Earth to mars for both belts) and 2 blue dieing stars (dont ask why blue i just decided they must be blue...no arguement its blue...the monkey said so).

Basicly:-

OO Suns

============ Astroid Belt

============ Astroid belt

The astroid belts are massive, they each do figure of 8 between the suns so there is a point were bot the astroid belts meet. Vary dence belts and vary big, ive decided its a major mining system with little defence (we're Aregant). Capital ship traval between the Belts is hard and scattered vary losely in the belts (so lose that there isnt much point of them) are Gun platforms depending on how far you spreed your forces you should at any one time be in the range of more then 2 of the gun platforms.

*sits there waiting to see if anyone has noticed the 100 ships with lots of fighters apearing from hyperjump, and if not might be sneaky and move it over to the planet quicker with out a fight and drop the troops down.* :)

As the Fin of God luanched it's last pelican, beams of energy appeared, followed by a fleet of unknown numbers. The shields on The Fin Of God were drained instantly, and large smoldering gashes left in the outer hull. The other 6 ships in the squadron lined up under fire, and on order of new Rear Admiral Sadot Gary fired the MAC cannons towards the alien fleet. Which would, if they had energy based shield, pass right through and smash at 1/4 the speed of light into the hull.

"By my scented trousers, didn't see that one coming. At least the Christopherian Fleet hasn't fired" Sadot looked down on the tactical officer "We aren't returning the favor target the Supercarrier." And out of the best ships of Waldenburg, came the best of Waldenburg's weapons. After the thuderous roar of the Fusion cannons died away and the 24 Nuclear missiles had been luanched, a stream of weapons that would have destroyed any battleship, fighters were luanched to protect The Fin Of God.

"Break ranks, leave the Christoprerian fleet attack the new one it seems a tad more powerful," Ships began to mindlessly charge the new fleet firing MAC cannons into the hudle.

"Your excellency, a pleasure shame most of the other senators couldn't join us. Do sit, you seem to be bleeding." Jacon Hartlieb smiled as the nearly decapitated senator was thrown in to the chair in front of the duke. "Very wise of you to order the standing down of your police, it could have been nasty. One thing does vex me though about this whole invasion, we found only 12 out of 314 senators." Looking at Lafarix like if information was given his life might be saved. The senator only managed a grunt. Nodding to a guard the Last head of Ibblesguard Government was severly severed from the body.

It was time. The main Waldenburg 2 fleet was just Ibblesguard system's moon. Admiral Sloan stared at the main viewer, which was currently displaying the Ibblesguard forces... and something else.
"Ops, analysis on those other vessels."
"Pretty highly advanced, sir. Two layers of shields and heavy armor. Absorbent shields, though." Sloan smiled at this last bit of information. Absorbent and reflective shields both had an interesting little quirk; they couldn't handle objects of extreme mass or density - something that the shells from the MAC guns both had. It was like being hit by a small moon.
"Well, then it's MAC guns all the way. Except for that flagship. That might require a plasma lance."

As one, fleet moved around from the moon and started firing.

2) How did the remaining Waldenburg fleet bring lines to bear against the Draconic Order attack if they were currently fighting sporadically over the planet with the Ibblesguard and Christopher Thompson fleets?

Battlegroup Sajuuk's Light

Klaxons went off as incoming fire was reported.

"Sir! Incoming fire! Nuclear-tipped missiles and MAC rounds impacting!"

The ship shuddered hard as an unthinkable ammount of kintetic force slammed into the ship, striking the first layer, which immediately vaporized to disperse damage to the bulkheads and superstructure.

A dizzying haze of smoke issued forth from the flagship, but she plowed through the smoke practically intact and a single message was sent to the fleet: Open Fire.

Silvana

"Sir, we've recieved open fire orders!"

"Good. Alvice, engage ANCHOR."

The ship shuddered as the anchor system came online. An engine control system that, at the limit of speed and auxillary power, would use every manouvering port as an extremely accurate aiming system to ensure that the ship's main cannon was directly on target. The other two battlecruisers did like as every other ship in the fleet loaded up.

"ANCHOR active," the AI reported.

"Gunners, ready all weapons, shell type armor piercing. Range three-thousand. Elevation, thirty-five degrees. Check the range, then volley," said the captain as the four massive double-barreled Arbeiter heavy cannons took aim, and the two double-barreled Ion Cannon turrets charged. The ship began to slowly turn as a large door in the front opened up to reveal a cannon...that ran the entire length of the ship.

"Error correction due to gravity, point two-five degrees," said the AI. "Correcting. Error corrected. Ready to open up all weapons. Main cannon is aligned with enemy position."

"Fire."

The ship shuddered as the first volley was made. Hundreds of heavy rounds sliced through the black void as they made their way toward their foe. Dozens of deep blue Ion Cannon fire cut through the black, slicing through the eternal night of space as hundreds of fusion torpedos sped off toward their enemy. Then, the strikecraft charged. Thousands of them. Interceptors and Gunships to shoot down enemy strikecraft and draw point defensive fire as Bombers and Pulsar Corvettes did their work on the enemy fleet, their plasma bombs and Pulsar beams cutting through the black, lighting up enemy ships.

Sajuuk's Light

"Damage report," said the Admiral Calmly.

"First layer of armor on sections A through J of the hull...evaporated. Minimal surface damage due to shrapnel," said Gillium, the ship's AI.

"Good. Open up the lower bays. We're taking back the Ibbelsguardian capital. Launch ten-thousand Marines and a pair of Mobile Fortresses for planetfall."

"As you wish, Admiral."

The massive bays on the bottom of the ship opened up, revealing themselves naked to the planet, looking down upon it. Looking down upon the capital. Then, two MFs and 10,000 Marines cut loose, slowly making their way to the surface at an ever-growing rate. In half an hour, they would be in position to fight.

Over at tactical they looked over the map, noticeing the Enemy fleet comeing from the moon.

"sneaky, i say the 105th task force might need to make a short jump" one of the tactical officer said.

"yes but...for a minute or two, if we jump the ships behind the enemy.."

"they would have to turn some of there ships, even thats not an easy feat to do. Hell we would get a few vollys off befor they could turn and hopefully by then the main shields would be up and fighters would be out of the hangers"

"ahh..on problem the ships would have to lower shields befor jump, we could lose more ships then its worth...unless we screen them with the 107th Task Force...it would weaken our right flank but it would be worth it just the sheer chaos for the enemy would give us the edge. tell the Fleet Admiral."

"vary well, prep short jump engines we jump the moment the last fighter pulls in. Tactical i want a fireing profile ready for when we come out, i want to get as meny vollys as we can befor they can react."

"Aye sir"

The ships had slown down along the right flank, the 107th task force had screened them makeing it harder to hit the 105th. Fighters pulled back as the ships prepared to a short jump.

All across the lines Colonial ships opened fire, 1/4 of the AeroSpace wings had spear headed there way towards the Waldenburg 2 ships, ignoreing the DIMMs ships. Flashes of Plasma bolter fire, Laser fire, Torpedos and missiles could be seen. A long battle indeed was to be endured.

"Last of the Aerospace wings in, we're ready to jump." The comm officer on the Ranger reported.

"on my mark jump ...3...2...1 MARK" Vascas said, and with that the 105th vanished, no blinding light, no warning signs just gone from the scanners, tho soon they would re-apear.

"Break off attack, go for the Christophorians, full power to the forward shields," The Bellicous Super Cruisers turned slowly but fast enough for the attack to be blown off on the forward shield. All ships moved fast enough except for the Fin Of God it's shield, weak as it was could not hold back the destruction. The bridge was torn off, laser batteries wiped out along with the wings of the ship. The crews thought the ship could survive and cheered as another plasma ball missed the ship. The cheer was muffled by the explosion of the Fusion cannons and the Nuclear missiles, as the Fin Of God erupted outward. The resulting blast vaporized the recently luanched fighters.

"Damage report"

"Light damage across the port side, no hull breaches though. Shields hold at 35%" reported another genaric officer.

As the Admiral order more recon and damage reports they noticed the smaller gunships and fighters for the first time speeding at the squadron.

"This is why we have proximity Nuclear torpedoes, make the arrangement and fire!"
The admiral walked down checked fire control himself, looked and yelled "Fire"
What probably looked like another wave of anti-capital ship missiles flew out of the ship, this time they did not fly blind towards the enemy, they locked on to the fighter swarm. From special orders from the admiral they would detonate only 400m from the fighters instead of the regulation 1 KM.

Sadot smiled faintly "Another round off MAC shells I think, target same as before. Fusion cannons target the Heavy Cruiser on the left, curse our scanners."

"Sir we have arrived, conducting scans." A finnaly named Lt. Commander Andrew Mikado. "Sir the entire system is covered with mining colonies, civilian ships everywhere. Not all that much life though, mostly machine operated, there are Warships but they're spread out, no real threat."

Cecil Melchett looked at the nearly open system "Get command on the Telly, and tell them this is the perfect system. We will need reinforcements, and more battle stations if we are to hold the system. Well Mr. Mikado make way for planet 0 { just put in the name or we'll make one up} oh and on the way make sure we are noticed, destroy any CorpSac vessals we come in contact with."

It's because of the shell's shear mass and density. Absorbent and reflective shield simply can't handle that sort of thing.

Absorbent shields- cannot transfer that amount of energy, that fast:

400 tons * 1/4c + (362873896 x 299792458 ^ 2) = 32,614,620,800,000,000,000,000,000 Joules worth of energy. It will absorbe part of the shell, but the shell is not within the shield's effects long enough to get all of it.

Reflective shield- overload for the same reason. (Doesn't matter since no one uses them anyway. They tend to react badly to lasers. Very badly. Think multi-gigaton.)

Different shielding systems handle overloads of this nature differently. Some simply fail. Others (the ones with smart designers) predict this sort of thing ahead of time, and program the shield to let objects over a certain mass through rather then have the shield fail entirely to the other weapons the enemy might have. Don't worry about these destroying you ship in one shot though; again, because of the mass and density, the shell has a tendency to keep most of it's kinetic energy to it's self meaning while it may pass right through your shield (and probably the rest of your ship as well) it won't (depending on hull material) punch a hole more then 8 meters in width.

The moment the enemy fleet jumped, Admiral Sloan knew where they were going. He also knew he would never get the fleet turned around in time. He desperately stared at the viewer, trying to find a way out. And there it was. Those carriers he had position to the rear! There were eight of them, with two torpedo tubes each. A fleet may not be able to turn around in the space of a few dozen seconds, but a torpedo sure could!

The torpedoes were nothing special, just guided missiles with 50-megaton nuclear warheads on the front. They probably wouldn't be enough destroy anything, but maybe he could confuse them, disorientate them just long enough to get the IAC Frigates turned around and... yes, it could work. But either way, it was going to be a slaughter fest for both sides...

The Draconic Order fleet took a pounding in the initial skirmish. Three frigates were reduced to minimal power, several holes were blown through each. One frigate was torn asplinter as it took the majority of the massed counter attack.
The bombers broke through the enemy carrier support, a torpedo wave smashed into the engine housing and raked the deck. Several bombers were disintegrated by the anti-strikecraft weaponry aboard the dying ship.
The remaining ships pressed forward into the gap, weapons blazing. Most of the fire was directed at the carrier they were so eager to destroy.

OOC:....ok dont under stand how your guy could know where there going right away but ok....dont change much (Point Defence systems can handle torpedos, after all they were Designed to protect the ship from torpedos, missiles and fighters/bomber crafts).

IC:

The ships exited shortjump just like they had entered it, the only reason that it took longer then a few seconds was manipuating the ships to face the enemy flank.

Apon exiting a massive Torpedo Strike was fired followed by a barrages of fire from the main guns, the joys of jumping within 50km of the enemy ranks and the most effective range for the the colonial ships weapons. Fighters and bombers spewed out of the carriers, destroyer and cruisers (that had them).

"incoming torpedos" the Tactical officer on the CFGN Ranger said.

"point defence system get main shields up now, how long till HArd shields are up?" Captain vascas asked.

"Point defence system activated, AI is in control. main shields at full strength in 1 minute, hard shields fully restored in 3 minutes" Her weapons officer replyed.

"have fighters take them torpedos out, the rest of the task force take out them carriers. concetrate fire power i want them things burning" Vascas ordered.

2 of the frigates to the brunt of the DIMMs torpedo strike as one of them burned up, a Tigerclaw class destroyer to a few hits but nothing the armor couldnt handle.

By the looks of it the enemy fleet was in a bit of shock, the chaos corsed would allow the 2nd stage of the plan to be pulled off without a hitch.

CFGN Black Death
CVS-64, Black Death Class Fleet Carrier/Dreadnought
Command ship of the 101st Elite Fleet.

"Fleet admiral, Captains Vascas's task force has just re-entered. enemy commander seemed to get lucky and fired a few torpedos." the Tactical officer reported to Mark as he watched the battle play out on the tactical board.

"intersting, i take it" he looked, he himself was a vary good tactical man "the Deverstater task force, he we short jumped them there, the enemy would expect them to be apearing from behind to there flank right?"

"after what we just did ya i would say so" one of the female officer replyed, "tho if i think your going to say what your going to say that might just tip this battle in our favor"

"what you think im planning?" Mark replyed with a smile.

"use the deverstater task force to jump in at close range, a few 100 meters from the enemys...." she looked at the map "right flank, exposed with no cover from the moon. the Plasma casters and muti warhead fusion torpedos would rip them to shreds hopefully"

"thats right, make it happen" the Admiral ordered.

Aerospace Attack wings Alpha

"move it people...holy shit did you see that thing go up.." one of the pilots said.

"incoming incoming...sensors detect nuclear warheads on intercept" another pilot said.

"BRAKE BRAKE, scatter people full burn understand me"

The Aerospace fighters and bombers suddenly broke ranks, some pulling hard up on full burn, others had fliped the fighers and put them on full burn. Evasion was a thing you had to know as the fighers scattered, nuclear warhead might not be that effective in space but to a fighter it was like putting ice in the microwave oven. about a 1/4 of the fighters (about 25 of them) where cought in the warheads explodtion the others managed to clear the blast or get to a distance where the shields just held.

"mother fucking chicken shits, scared of a decent dog fight"

"stow it pilot, ok they know we're coming this is going to be a fun fight ladies. remember dont tag the life boats do so and i will shot you myself" the wing commander said over the comm's "full burn it people"

At that the 75 fighters and bombers slaped on the afterburners charging towards the Waldenburg 2 ships.

The task force was a battle hardened close range shock group, with 3 dreadnoughts, 2 battleships, an ashcroft destroyer and a tigerclaw destroyer with 5 Xenophobic class missile frigates it was designed for a hard fight.

"Captain, orders in. we're to jump on the right flank of the DIMMs ships at close range and hammer it, i think the plans to use the enemy numbers agenst them." The Comms officer reported.

Captain Black looked up, a well built man with scar across his left eye. "at bloody last, vary well send out a few decoys befor we jump, i dont want them to relise we're gone till it was to late and if they do well lets hope they think we're going to support the 105th." he chuckled.

The Task force had stoped, decoys were fired a few seconds befor they jumped. It was a simple plan, pull the enemy apart.

the Admiral knew that an all out fight couldnt be won unless they called in the 9th, already the 101st had lost a few frigates and 2 destroyers and a fair few Corevettes. They didnt expect the numbers to be this high, a grate mistakeing on the admirals part and the lack of intel.

The Admiral pounded his fist on the console. So the torpedoes hadn't worked; oh, one or two had gotten through, but that didn't make a difference. Oh well, another advantage to the carriers being in back was that they had the heaviest shields in the fleet and were taking the brunt of the damage.

Two could play at this little of his enemy's. "Helm, spin up FTL drives one and two. Order the fleet to do the same; set coordinates for behind the Ibblesguard planet. We're going to reinforce Waldenburg and set up a little ambush."

The fleet jumped.

I move into a totaly different reality/dimension, only thing is my ships have to keep moving in hyperspace or elce the Grav forces pull the ship deeper and its lost for ever. Short jump is what i use within my own systems, what the point of going into a deep level of hyperspace when i can skim across the top of it. It takes longer but meh thats life.

((That raises an interesting question: what is the difference between the gravity well of a planet and the gravity inherent to the solar system when relating to FTL (or equivalent) travel. Because movies, TV, and books that bring up the concept, almost always speak of the gravity well of the planet as the only unstable element to FTL (or equivalent) travel. (Examples: Star Wars, Star Trek; the games Freespace, Homeworld, Nexus, and Tacheon; even Babylon 5 doesn't jump into the gravity well of a planet. Although they get really close all the time, or use jump gates, which are built to allow FTL (or equivalent) travel even if there is a gravity well present.) ))

((And on the topic of in-system jumps... that is fine, just not while in or into a planet's gravity well. There are HUGE open spaces in all three dimensions around and between planets; it isn't hard to work around that limitation.))

OOC- Sorry will get on the map soon, I just figured out my internet was unplugged, otherwise I would have started sooner.

IC- The last notes of Astor Waldenburgus filled the square, the anthem had not been composed with happy times in mind. The prisoners, which included nearly 30,000 civilians, marched around the square, they had been doing this for 14 hours straight.

A seargent ran out of once had been the senate hall but was now the Palace of the Viceroy of Ibblesguard "Sah, Incoming ships, dropships and fighters, will be arriving in about 5 minutes."

The new Viceroy of Ibblesguard, also the Duke of Mintasburg looked up from his gold backed chair which he had placed in "Detention Camp 7" "Really seargent, send up the 3 royal flyers, 48 Longsword fighters should do the trick. Order all anti-aircraft turrets into the center of the city."

The seargent looked uneasy "We only brought 4 with us sir, and 48 fighters won't cover whats coming towards."

"Fine, all soliders are to gather around the palace bring all the prisoners there as well, they won't risk a bombardment with them around. Well I'm at this take a message to the CorpSac fleet, Message reads:

This is a Imperial Waldenburg colony, any act of agression towards any Waldenburg personel, shall result in severe consequences. For every CorpSac Marine landed 20 Civilians shall die, if you truley care about these people, you shall refrain from attacking.

But even as he gave these orders dots began to appear in the sky, which Longsword fighters flew to investigate. Shouts came from the regiments as they, didn't know what they were fighting for, but they did know what his Grace could do with that sabre of his.

The dropships fell though the atmosphere with the fighters and bombers covering them, once they cleared the atmosphere the gun pods came out.

The fighters dove hard to engage the incoming fighters, the bombers dove hard after them hoping to slip by as the 50 fighters clashed with the ones coming up.

the dropships dove harder droping behind the fighters and bombers heading for the surface, half the dropships (a total of about 100) would do fast drops with the marines and with Tanks and Artillary.

As the fighters and bombers clashed above most of the dropships sliped by 25 of them had landed 2 miles out of the city, quicky droping off the marines, 5 M34A2 light tanks and 5 M292A2 SP artillery then dusting off. Being on the ground for to long was always a bad thing and the pilots never liked it.

As the 750 Marines had left the dropship they started to set up basic defenses around the postion, from now on the Colonial forces would call this Liberty base.

"Colonel Ashcroft, Base troops have landed as well as 2 armored lances" major said.

"good good, i take it defences will be up shortly?" Ashcroft asked.

"yes sir, and the rest of the regiment has landed within the city and outside it, we lost 5 dropships to AA fire. We lost 150 men and 2 Ridgeway heavy tanks, some of the dropships that had already drop troops had pouned the areas that teh AA fire came from. We dont know if they destroyed them but the guns soon stoped fireing." The Major said.

"vary well, tell the dropship pilots they have full rain in bombarding major enemy troops groups, civilian loses no longer matter." Ashcroft said as he watched a few marines setting up the UA 571 remote sentry weapon system around the area, along with the M112 HIMAT and other defence/offence weapons.

"sir?" the major said looking confussed.

"you heard me" ashcroft said. 3744

outside and just within the city walls 2,844 troops had hit the ground supported 5 ridgeway heavy tanks, 6 light tanks, 3 light tanks and 4 M292A2 SP artillery units. The troops were expecting heavy fighting, small firer fights had happened in the city but most of the forces main goal was to take city within the day, tho the the M292A2's were fireing so meny rounds into the city that it would be pointless if the enemy didnt surrender there would be much left. befor the first round had hit it targe the artillery units had just got the last round fired in the barrage, in 10 second bursts 6 rounds would be fired. It was quite a sight to see, 4 M292A2's, guarded by a platoon of Marines who had set up sentry guns, didnt seem to stop fireing there shells into the city and onto the walls.
the M292A2's each had a holding of 78 rounds with a total of 13 barrages from each one and a total of about 200 rounds each around them. if it was up to the local commander of the rest of the regiment he would have left the artillery to level the city.

The dropships roles had changed to gunships instead, flying over the city and bombarding it, tho they had to be careful loseing the dropships would mean they would have to wait for the 9th to come and pick them up.

OOC: just to let you know im an evil basta*d im more then happy to waste a few civilians if it means getting the job done, it not like the population of this one city is the population of the world (i hope).

The fleet was safe behind the planet, for now. If one looked closely, one could see there were two distinct operations going on. Both were being carried out by the Halcyon-class cruisers while the rest of the ships were standing guard. On the one hand, wave after wave of Pelicans were being launched. On the other hand, small, oblong objects were settling into fixed position in space. After a few minutes of this, both operations came to a stop.

"Sir," reported Ops, "we've finished deploying both the Pelicans and the defensive platforms."
"Good," he replied. It was time to play his trump card. "Boot the DSS." The DSS (Defensive Synchronization Software) was computer software near, but not quite, at the level to be considered an AI. It served several purposes:

1.) Input from the commanding officer was translated directly into actions. No other officers were required except the engineers need to keep the ship running.

2.) Pinpoint accuracy. Even at a MAC guns maximum range, the DSS could predict the moves of an enemy ship and drill a hole right where it wanted it.

3.) Tactical analyzer. Analyzes enemy movement and gives suggestions on what to do next.

The Ops officers input the required commands. Deep within the Ambitious in the ships computer core, a single file awoke and spread like the ancient computer viruses it was based on. Through out the fleet, the lights dimmed for a moment, then resumed their normal radiant glow. The DSS was online. This same message scrolled across the Admiral's screen.

The DSS could be controlled by voice command, and Sloan chose this option to communicate.
"All ships and defensive platforms are to assume a low, stable orbit, then shut down all but non-essential systems. We'll let the ionosphere mask us from their sensors. Then, once our orbit has taken us in range, all ships are to open fire with MAC guns. Also, prep. a quarter of the anti-capitol defensive platform for plasma lances." They won't dare engages us with long-ranged or heavy weaponry. They'll risk hitting the planet. And they can't jump behind us again because no ship could handle an orbit lower then our already is.

OOC: Let’s see:

47 Halcyon cruisers.
4 hangers each.
7 Pelicans per hanger.
10 troops and equipment + one vehicle or eight extra storage crates or one extra troop pod (increases troop capacity to 28) per Pelican.
Assume ¼ of the Pelicans took the extra eight storage crates.
Assume another ¼ of the Pelicans took the extra troop pod.

That’s 1,316 Pelicans, 19,082 troops, 658 ground vehicles, and a lot of equipment, which are now en route to reinforce Waldenburg 2.

OOC: Well, lucky for me, I'm not landing Corpsac marines, I'm landing 10,000 Hiigaran Marines :) (And 2 mobile Fortresses)

IC:

Ibbelguardian Capitol Outskirts

And they landed. From the sky, they poured to the ground, hovering just above the urban concrete. They prepared for urban combat, which is what they were best suited for. The two Mobile Fortresses were last to touch down, wiping out nearby buildings as they crashed into the ground. They were briefed on where the enemy was, and then they moved out. They Marines powered up their anti-grav srtips (they look like small vertical bars glowing out the back) that held them suspended, and allowed for high-speed manouvering. They two Mobile Fortresses began their slow advance, charging their cannons and waiting for fire support requests as their nuemerous 50 mm rapid-fire guns tracked the air, looking for any sign of enemy fighters.

OOC: Sorry for crap-tacular post, but no time. Waiting for map before I post anymore space combat.

Ibblesguard has turned into a bloodbath, CorpSac Marines and Waldenburg's shooting civilians randomly. The 9th special regiment was the only group so far who had made any headway into the nearly captured city. Only 8000 Sq.M were left around the burning palace, occupied by the remaining 4,500 Waldenburg troops fought for control of the city. The 9th had moved rather quickly through the streets, instead of the basic plasma rifle they had been equiped with special chargable cannons, resistance melted away. Things were clipping along swimminly untill a large fountin of dirt and rubbled spireled out of the outskirts of the city.

"Private, take a look your closest," a seargent prodded the private, who was part of a squad to investigate the clouds of rubble. The man slowly polked his head around the corner, then quickly flew backwards with 4 massive bullet wounds in his head. "Alright, grenade 4 second, plasma." A corporal ran forward primed a grenade and luanched it in, seconds later a wave of blue flame engulfed the area. "Right that cleared any living thing out of that area, advance." 45 men moved forward, there were some crisp bodies but mainly there was a robot so large men craned up to see it. The company without orders opened fire on the thing and anyone still alive in the area. It looked like one shot from the thing could destroy any squad (Also a Hint)

The duke of Mintasburg looked at the 75 men he was stuck with, between a wall of rubble and an enemy squad. " Come on cowards, we can take bullets he took a bullet and he's not blubbing about it," as the duke pointed down to a dead man the Captain knew this would be his death. "Everyone with me on the count of 3 1..2..3 " his last words were lost to the roar of Waldenburg Marines as they charged quite a large portion of CorpSac's Marines. The duke leading them, hacking at anyone with his blood stained sword.

((That does help, although I thought the Waldenburg fleet was between the Christopher Thompson and Draconic Order fleets (Draconic Order coming in from the asteroid field that Waldenburg came through to get to the planet).))

Capitol Outskirts

"Sir, we've lost contact with scout three," said the scout chief of company 2.

"I see," said the CO. "What are his vitals?"

"No vitals showing. He's gone."

"Order support fire on his position then, and lead a charge there. We'll com in in ten one-thousand man waves on that position after bombardment."

"Yes sir, ordering bombardment now."

The main cannon of one of the Mobile fortresses slowly aimed directly at its told position. It's main gun charged, emiting an errily calming blue-white light, and finally shooting it off in a cataclysmic line that would destroy anything in its path, and most certainly melt anything within the blast zone, and cook-off anything shortly outside of it. This was now a warzone. The Marines dis-engaged their Anti-Grav and now relied on their blinding speed that the mecha gave them. They moved forward, keeping cover, advancing down the street until they were near the blast zone...

OOC- I'll post since no one else is

IS-
The sky turned black, first what looked like smoke but on the radar turned up to be more than 1300 Pelicans. Colonel Deran Vast looked relieved he had been left in command once the duke had gone "Radio the Pelicans with orders, their to land all vehicles outside the city with half of the infantry. The other half are to of course land in the city and reinforce this position." As the radio Seargent finished copying this down and transfering it into code, he nodded to the Colonel as it was sent.

The colonel looked and calculated slowly in his head. Finnaly he sighed " The 1st of Ibblesguard to me 5th of Mintasburg also. If these pelicans are to land they will need more space, your orders are to attack the CorpSac marines West of here, try and find the duke If possible." With those orders and bewildered soliders, Colonel Deran grabbed two plasma grenade luanchers. He lead the regiments, into battle formation and over the top of a recently set up barricade.

"Sir, I think we found it, nearly uninhabitable planet but there's still an orbit perfect for setting up our stations. But once we get near the planet we will be in range of CorpSac battlestations," Lietuinent Mikado reported from his position on the sensor station.

"They are of no great threat at this range but send 4 ships to each to destroy them." Said Mellchet from his Command chair " Well let's start this, frieghters are to dispatch the stations in high orbit, anti-capital first." As order flew so did the ships, eight ships broke off in differnt directions to destroy CorpSac's only visable defense. General Melchett Watched as the bulky frieghters finnaly moved to the dead rock, and began to luanch the things that would hold this system. This system so far from Waldenburg space

From: Waldenburg High Command

We have heard your call for reinforcements and were indeed expecting it. The 3rd and 4th fleets of the line have been diverted towards your position expect them within 2 days. With them is the newly formed 1st Robot legion, and more defense platforms for the planets we are sure you will capture.

OOC- Since I don't have A Fact-Book yet, because i'm terrible with maps it's coming soon though, a usuall fleet has

X8 Patriarch Destroyers
X4 IAC Frigates
X8 Halcyon Cruisers
X2 Entourage Carriers
X2 Valadore Cruisers
X4 Augustus Gunships
X10 Forrunner Frigates
And then probably a division of troops for landing.

Open Message To: All Forces Envading Ibblesguard:
From: Grand Admiral Felix Covert

Look what you have done to our planet, a city of 7 million nearly destroyed. We ask all governments to withdraw troops before there is no city to withdraw from. Anything you ask to spare our people, so to Waldenburg we officialy surrender there is no more need to shoot our civilians. If you have any mercy you will either surrender or leave, we should have never started this war.

~The Draconic and Christopher fleets mopped up the last remnants of the six-ship Waldenburg fleet. On detection of other, larger Waldenburg fleets on the way, and the surrender of Ibblesguard, the remaining Draconic Order ships began to turn away from the planet and head out system. The four disabled frigates floated in an asteroid field made from their own hulls, trying to restore propulsion to get away before the enemy fleets arrived.~

The ships of the Draconic order fired the last neccisary rounds to destroy the remainig 6 Waldenburg ships. One after another the combined Fusion Generators, Nuclear Warheads, and Ion engines, exploded outward taking all fighters in the area with them. Untill there was only one smoldering ship left, weapons wiped out, shields drained to nothing. But it was a Waldenburg ship and would die properly, it's engines started to glow faintly, it moved towards the four ships Left by Draconic Order's rapid retreat.

"What is the self destruct code Ensign I know you stole all my personel information two years ago when you first got here," the Captain of the last ship asked hesitantly.

"It's 1558AsH15, and sorry about that it was just a atte..." the ensign was cut off by the loud beeping coming over the ships loudspeaker.

"Well it's been a nice run Ensign, I liked the old ship. You have 5 minutes to evacuate you know." Said the Captain as he walked over to the Helm. The Ensign jumped up from his chair and joined the flood of Crewmen making there way for the evacuation pods.

The Captain smiled as the last pod was luanched, he was alone on a mile long ship only him and the vastness of space. The ship lurched as the engine pointed in the direction of the four ships, as the Loudspeaker told him he had 2 minutes to eveacute.

OOC- Waiting for CorpSac post before the ground war can continue.

~The crews of the Draconic ships scrambled with the failing systems on the four frigates. Only one managed to engage engines by the time the last remaining Waldenburg ship, held together with only fumes and prayers, detonated amongst them. The shockwave sliced through the failing hulls of the Draconic Order ships, which then blossomed briefly in their own death throes. The fleeing ship's engine housing was torn off, exposing the crew to vacuum. Several escape pods were launched from the dieing craft, the only survivors, heading out system. They hoped they could rendezvous with the fleet before it left.~

Fleet Admiral Hershon Mytrix looked extremely worried as his reserve fleet approched the Ibblesguard systems. He was not supposed to do this, his superiors had ordered 1 of only 3 fleets protecting waldenburg up to the front. The Fleet was good 10 Halcyons and 12 IAC frigates, but this left waldenburg open and vunreable.

"Sir, reports are off the scale, Nuclear explosions, signs of ion and fusion explosions, everything. Must have been a massive battle here not just the sluaghter of CorpSac as we were told," a ensign spoke from his position on sensors.
The admiral chuckled as he walked off his bridge and into the specially holo-net communications room.

"Ring up Grand Admiral Sloan please," he said to a computer.

OOC- I got board so called in another fleet. Still waiting on CorpSac, sorry about bad post theres very little i can do right now.
