New PRA Chemical Weapon: PhosphoRush!
Introducing PhosphoRush, the newest PRA Chemical Weapon to enter the prototype phase! Designed to eliminate enemy troops and vehicles quickly with little collateral damage, PhosphoRush is an excellent choice for the discerning general, and is awe-inspiring when combined with other quality PRA products such as CorroMis.
This weapon works by entering through the skin, enters cells through the plasma membrane, and causing adenosine triphosphate (ATP) to break down into adenosine diphosphate (ADP). This releases energy into the cell, which provides it with a boost to metabolic activities. In the short term (nearly instantly), the subject will exhibit high blood pressure, rapid heart palpatation, greatly increased energy levels, and hyperventilation. Within a minute, the energy released is too much for the cells to bear, causing widespread cell death across the body. Heart failure, respiratory failure, brain damage, widespread tissue damage, and organ failure across the body. The subject will be dead within two minutes. In addition to the above effects, the phosphorous released from the ATP will be excreted from the body, as cellular waste and in sweat, urine and feces. This means that any victim has the potential to become a human torch, especially post mortem when the bowels and bladder empty themselves.

OOC: hear we go, finally a well researched, well executed, restrained chemical weapon, If i wasn't so busy trying to prevent the death of all life on earth in the face of seemingly insurmountable odds, I would have to blockade you and attempt to make you see the error of your WMD making ways. Ah well. Excellent job, if I wasn't so dead set against WMDs, I'd buy some.

OOC: Course its well researched! All of mine are! Hell, Eye Killer is based off a disease I actually HAVE! God knows what it is, but my tear ducts peel like the dickens. Anyway, thanks for the compliment, truth be told, it means a lot from you. You couldn't have said it ICly could you have? I enjoy using quotes. "Excellent job, if I wasn't so dead set against WMDs, I'd buy some," makes for good advertisement. ;)
OOC: What tech level is this?

MT and on up. Chemical warfare doesn't get any less effective in PMT or FT (well, slightly).

OOC: thats adenosine-tri (or Bi)-phosphate. other than that its a hell of a weapon, but i think it might class as a bioweapon not a chem...
sorry to be critical about a well designed weapon like this, and if i needed any more WMD stuff, even i might buy some.

OOC: Thanks for the correction. Will fix it momentarily. As for it being a bioweapon, bioweapons require the agent to be living, which would either be a virus or a bacterium. As this is simply a deadly chemical, much like VX or Sarin, it keeps its classification as a chemical weapon.
Greetings,
The Rolatian government do not like to use chemical weapons as they believe they are sort of unfair, but we do think your ingenuity in the making of this weapon is first-rate. It is a class above less thought-out and well-detailed weapons (an example of the class below would be the Raven Corps virus which destroys all non-humans: a good idea, but with very, very little detail). We commend you for your efford
Dr J Edwards
Prime Minister of Rolatia

Doctor Edwards,
Thank you for your comments. However, we disagree with your stance on chemical weapons. After all, "All's fair in love and war." War in and of itself is unfair. Why attempt to enforce arbitrary rules of ethics on an inherently unethical situation? Regardless, we thank you for your kind words.
Warmest regards,

What's the price? A good chemical threat might be exactly what is needed in some situations.
Price will most likely be around $50,000 for a dose large enough to fill a 200 meter square. Any more questions before this goes on sale, in order to keep PRA less cluttered?

OCC: Would standard NBC protection be an effective countermeasure against this, or is specialized equipment needed?
Could small doses be fatal?
It sounds like it could be an excellent sterilizing chemical against a wide variety of organisms. I think I'll have some interesting (yet mundane and unimportant) uses for it.

Standard NBC gear is effective, although PRA counter-counter measures such as CorroMis are often deployed along with chemical and biological agents on the battlefield.
Small doses can still be deadly, depending on how much you've inhaled. Usually, one breath of contaminated air is enough to cause death. As for sterilization, just remember it doesn't kill virii, as they don't use ATP.

fair enough.
BTW, suddenly realised i cant buy it for future tech cos i play aliens, who dont use ATP or ADP. sorry, otherwise i would.
