Aaron Lee received the call from Joe Jackson and true to Joe's promise to the Duke, Aaron began the offensive that had been dubbed "Desert Gator" within 1 hour of the Duke's call to Joseph - Less than 6 hours after the U.N. call for forces to enter and stablize the former Whitterian territory and barely 24 hours after the Duke's radio announcement to UAE and Iran.
In wave after wave, over 400 Head Rush bombers left Yemen and began bombing Bushehr and Shiraz and the roads between those cities and the cities to the north and Bandar Abbas to the south so as to cut off Bandar Abbas and slow any U.N. Troop movements from the north. Another 200, converted 767's flew over Bandar Abbas, each dropping some 250 Gator Guardsmen and Army special forces paratroopers - armed to the teeth. Another 150 c-130's flew over the city the desert just to the east and landed in the sandy/rocky terrain and began to quickly offload Mauiwowee manufactured Ferrets with crews who began an advance back towards the city. Also, sailing from their positions just outside the Gulf of Oman, 3 full carrier groups and 125 troop and cargo ships carrying over 100,000 marines and army personnel with artillery, tanks, more ferrets and equipment began heading at full steam towards Bandar Abbas and points north in the Persian Gulf. Aaron had spent 6 month or more planning the surprise assualt on Iran and was fully prepared to take Bandar Abbas in a sudden, all out assuault and quickly begin a north-easterly march towards Tehran.
Meanwhile, two submarines surfaced and offloaded 2 teams of some 30 Gator Guard special ops teams each - on team for Dubai in the UAE and another for Abu Dhabi. Strike fighters on the Carriers entering the straights of Hormuz began surgical airstrikes around the two cities as additional troop carriers began heading in to make a beach head just east of Dubai.
In the boldest move the plan though, several other planes flew over the cities of Zahedan, Kerman, Abadan, Ahvaz and Esfahan and dropped crates full of fresh food and water all labeled "products of and gifts from the people of Norleans to their newest allies - the people of Iran."
Finally, as the war began, Aaron Lee made the announcement to the world:
Attention, non-aligned and U.N. Nations of the world. This is Major-General Aaron Lee of the Army of Norleans. Supreme commander of Norleans' middle eastern forces. We have, this day, begun an invasion of the United Arab Emirates and Iran to secure those territories and quell the civil unrest in those countries that threatens the area since the collapse of Whittier and the the People's Republic. We would ask that you refrain from sending your troops or other personnel into harms way or attempting to interfere with our operations in these areas. We have no wish for war with anyone and hope that the people of Iran and UAE will quickly accede to our rule so that the people can get back to the business of supplying the world with oil and a rich cultural heritage. In addition to sending our forces in, some $1 billion in humanitarian aid in the form of medical supplies and agricultural foods stuffs is also being sent into the area. That is all

The Norlean invasion had the opposite effect of what the Norleans government had anticipated. Where as the assassination had thrown the nation into dissarray and disorder, the foriegn invaders became a unifying factor for the nation.
The various feuding Generals set aside their disputes as they heard the pronouncements by Norleans and watched the vicious assaults on their common birthplace, Iran. Though they each had their own ambitions, they realized that for their homeland to survive, they had to set aside those ambitions and unite in defense of Mother Iran.
But they need someone to represent the people of Whittier to the world. After some deliberation, it was decided that a Lt. in the 5th Army Division Infantry Division would serve as the most likely person to reunite the people of Whittier for the struggle against the foriegn invaders. They had to scan through files of recommended Whittierians. The one they chose was chosen for one simple fact. His name, and his family heritage. He was Victor Brezhnekov, heir to the Brezhnekov estate. The Brezhnekov's had a long ruling dynasty in the nation of Whittier so it was utilitiful that the man chosen to be unifying speaker of all Whittier lands should come from the house of Brezhnekov.
With the homeland under attack, the young, 19 year old Lt. was secreted away to northern Iraq by armed special ops troops.
When he was settled into his secret hideout, he recorded an address to the world, copies of which were delivered to the world's major media.
"Fellow Whittierians, since the brutal murder of my own father, our nation has suffered great discord and many of us have faced the greatest uncertainties of our lives. Some of us have made mistakes and attempted to use this time for our own selfish ambitions. Through this all, our friends in Mauiwowee and TG6R have assisted us in maintaining security in parts of our globally spread nation.
Though we have had and currently have internal feuds, these are mere family squabbles. Our treacherous neighbor to the south, Norleans is attemting to use our situation to grab land from our nation. Not only are they attempting to steal the UAE from us, but they have attacked mother Iran. The homeland of all Whittierites around the world. As if the blatant stab in the back was not enough, their government is now attempting to bribe us into competulation. But our people have never bowed before anyone. Let us put aside our differences and put common cause against our common enemy, in defense of our common homeland, mother Iran.
Let us thank the UN forces that have come to our aid and assitance. Tonight, I address you from foreign territory under the guardianship of the UPR's top most spec ops troops. Troops who were very loyal to my own father. Though I cannot disclose my location, due to concerns about assassination attempts, it is my hope to one day return home to a homeland free of foreign occupation.
I have directed all forces, willing to accept my command, to strike at once, against all Norleans forces. UN and allied forces in our territories are to be given unhindered access to any resources they need to assist in the defense of our nation and our people's great culture and heritage.
God willing, I will speak to you from the Presidential Palace by the end of the year.
At bases throughout Iran, the UAE, and Bahrain and Qatar, troops began leaving cities and heading south to confront the invaders. Aircraft took to the skies and attack the enemy bombers. The tank divisions in Qatar and Afghanistan headed into Saudi and turned south, or back into Iran in the direction of the invasion force.
12,000 missiles, not touched during the civil disorder, were fired at foriegn forces within Iran itself. The Generals had convinced the young LT. to ok the use of 2 tactical nuclear weapons should the invaders get within 20 miles of Tehran, the national capital. But he had ordered that the UN and allied nations be warned 5 hours in advance before they were used.
In ICBM silos in Grenada and in Northeast Iran, the doors opened and 1,400 conventional, high yeild ICBM's were fired at the capital of the norleans territory in Yemen.
OOC: I know, there is a chance that after tommorrow, I won't be able to respond anymore, but I thought that if there were an invasion, it would most likely act as a unifying factor and get the generals to set aside their ambitions and differences to defend their common homeland. Actually, they might have something there (might take a couple of months to get a computer). But I think in any case, Norleans should expect heavy resistance from Whittierians since that is the history and culture of their society. Kind of like what would have happened if the British or the Mexicans had invaded the US during the civil war or what happened when Bin Laden attacked the WTC when America was the most divided over political partisanship. Foriegn attacks or invasions serve to unite the feuding people they are targeted against.
One more day. And I'm ambivalent about it.
The sudden message from a Breshnekov surprised Aaron Lee - he had expected some "rallying" to save the homeland, but not this call for unification, this war was going to be harder than he thought. Suddenly, the air raid sirens began to go off and a colonel entered the room. "General Lee, we have incoming missiles - a buttload according to radar."
Saana - Capital of Yemen
Sirens were going off everywhere as the people ran to shelters - In his shelter, Aaron Lee was speaking frantically on a satellite phone to various men under his command.
"Dammit!! What do you mean you were caught be surprise!! Somebody's head is gonna roll for this and you seem to be at the top of the list at present Major! Goddammit" as he slammed down the phone - The AA defenses in Saana were obviously not up to par and the dumb Major in command of city defenses had just guarranteed his loss of a job and likely a court martial as well. Then the explosions began. Of the 1,400 ICBM's launched at Saana, only 70 of them would be destroyed in flight by the ill prepared city defenses. The rest would find a target - when all was said and done, over 8,300 people would be killed in Saana that day. Including a large number of civilians and many Vineyardian defense forces as well as Norleans' regulars.
As the missiles struck, General Lee reviewed the latest intelligence - Hah!! Whitterian forces are attempting to head south via Saudi Arabia - Vineyard would put a halt to that. They rely on the food from our North American breadbasket in Saudi, plus, Whittier's ICBM attack in Saana just killed a bunch of Vineyard's security forces. Those forces won't make here in time to do anything, if Vineyard lets them through at all. thought the General (OOC: Vineyard and Norleans have a treaty over Yemen - I supply Saudi Arabia, Oman and other mid-east holdings with agricultural products and food from North America and grant him the right to station a large military contingent in Yemen as an additional security force for himself and me and I get to run the politics of the country and handle oil production).
Over the cities of Bushehr and Shiraz in Iran
"Bandits! Lets take out the roads and bridges and get out of here!" yelled an unidentified Norleans' pilot to his squad as large contingent of Whitterian fighters began to converge on their position."
"They're on me!!"
"Dammit - bombs only!!" Peel off, peel off!!"
"Look - - -::WHAM::"
Of the 400 Head Rush bombers sent out on the mission 85 of them were shot down with all hands. 60 more ditched in the Gulf where their crews were eventually rescued. It was only the element of surprise and the fact that most of the planes had made their run and begun to head back before the Whitterian planes got their that kept them from being completely slaughtered. Worse yet, they only managed to shoot down 3 Whitterian planes and that was mostly luck since all the planes were armed with bombs, and no AA missiles. They were generally succesful in their mission though - the roads and major trails from the cities leading to Tehran and down to Bandar Aabas were 90% destroyed - it would take a while for any major ground force to get down south from those areas.
Just east of Bandar Aabas, Iran
"Hurry men, get those planes unloaded" yelled the Sergeant.
http://www.almc.army.mil/alog/issues/MarApr04/HIMAR1.gif
"Sarge - we've got incoming!!"
"I'm outta here" yelled a pilot - beginning a take off run without even checking to see if his plane was fully unloaded.
The huge barrage of missiles began slamming in around and in the area of the makeshift desert airport where the C-130's had been unloading their cargo.
of the 150 planes, 60 were destroyed on the ground. 200 men were killed, 80 Ferrets were destroyed as well as 44 HIMAR mobile artillery pieces and 17 RCAV "bunker busters"
Bandar Aabas, Iran
As the paratroopers began coming into the city and it's outskirts their sudden appearance had the effect desired - the population was thrown into a panic - that panic was helped when a couple hundred of the Whitterian missiles began hitting the city as well. Upon landing, the soldiers already knew where to group and the orders were to kill anything that even looked like it might try to resist the invasion. The city was occupied and it was urban warfare against a generally unprepared population in panic and a military force that was trying to rally and deal with a huge paratrooping force and a naval force that was bringing in more men.

Secret IC:
The mercenaries arrived in Tehran early this morning before sunrise, in camouflaged vehicles. They camouflaged their vehicles outside the Azadi Grand Hotel, and most maintained a perimenter around the hotel. The others were part of the air team, who set up a Dassault Neuron launcher, camouflaged into the surroundings.
After an encrypted satellite call from Ludo Hienkel, informing them of their target, all sixty Neurons were launched, and headed south below-radar (also making use of their stealth abilities) to Bandar Abbass, fully loaded with two laser-guided 550 pound bombs.
http://www.filehost.to/files/2005-10-02_03/200241_Bandar_Abbass.png
**************************************************
The Neurons were now approaching Bandar Abbass. They were to drop their 120 500-pound laser-guided bombs specifically on the surviving HIMAR mobile artillery pieces. This was timed to happen as the Whitterians launched a large-scale offensive at the invading forces, to confuse.
Problem is, the HIMARS were never in Bandar Abbass and were being moved even as Whittier's missiles hit them as they unloaded from the planes. See below since these were launched the day after Whittier's attack that took out several as they were being unloaded.

Dubai & Abu Dabi, UAE
As the planes were unloading in Iran and as thousands of missiles fell there, in UAE, things were a little different. Two special ops teams of Gator guards had snuck into the cities under cover of darkness after offloading from a submarine. What was clearly visible to any defenders were the troops ships and Carriers and battleships off the coast, leading an assualt on the beachs just east of Dubai and the fighters flying in making surgical strikes on the roads, bridges and airports in UAE - 1,200 missiles and bombs in all would strike from the carrier based planes and Yemeni fighters. The goal - effectively cut UAE off from the rest of Arabia - a goal that was not all that difficult considering how small, geographically, the country truly was. The airports in the two cities were completely wiped out as were 6 major electrical substations and all roads into UAE from Saudi Arabia and Oman. Coastal defense batteries were also heavily damaged and rendered 80% useless. Over 1,250 UAE soldiers and about 22 civilians were killed in the bomb raids.
As the population and military forces focused on preventing an invasion and saving themselves from the falling bombs and missiles, the 2 gator guard teams got to work.
"Blue team Leader this is Red Leader - Are we go?"
"Roger Red Leader, we're go"
The two major roads which UAE's military would use to approach the area where the Norleans army would be making landfall were no completely booby trapped and mined. Laser activated RCAV's carrying bunker buster missiles were lined up in a staggered formation, hidden and camoflauged; 30 all told, each one controlled by a separate gator guardsman using a blackberry with a live video feed to control their own robot attack vehicle from a safe distance. The other 30 Royal Guardsmen began their stealthy approach towards the defenders already on the beach with explosives, etc. in hand ready to take them out from behind as the Norlean's army launched the invasion - an invasion that was almost intended as a diversion to allow the gator guards to do their stuff.
In the Persian Gulf, Straights of Hormuz and Arabian Sea
"Commodore Markola?"
"Yes Commander, what is it?"
"Sir, 3 issues - first, we've picked up a Warta Endorian Carrier Fleet headed in from the Arabian Sea. Second, we're tracking several thousand missiles headed from Tehran towards Yemen and third, we have another huge group of missiles headed towards Bandar Abaas and our planes offloading equipment east of the city."
"Damn, we told Warta and the others to stay out of here - divert 40 planes from the UAE force towards the Warta Endorian group - they are to fire warning shots and loose a few missiles at the Carrier group - DO NOT try to destroy any target, do try to do some damage though and then send them the message they are to back off unless they want to face more than they can handle - you know how to word it - I don't want to have a naval battle, we're here to support an invasionary force, not fight an ocean war. Secondly, I want every cruise missile we have on every ship and sub launched in co-ordinated waves towards Qom, Qazmin and Tehran - but I want them targeted using the satelite imagery and GPS devices - the strikes are to be surgical - take out the airfields and missile silos, bridges, oil refineries and pumping stations in the area - the goal is to halt the missiles and shut down airstrikes as well as slow and prevent a major ground force offensive from moving in on us down here. Then, let's get these troop ships in and begin the landing."
"Yes sir, understood sir"
Within the hour, some 600 cruise missiles had been launched at their targets and the planes were ready to confront the Warta Endorian carrier group. Most of the missiles found their targets - Tehran's main airport and military airbase was wiped out for all practical purposes as were 25 oil pumping stations and 16 refineries. The road from Qom to Arak was completely destroyed and, even if they had missiles left, the Whitterian military wouldn't be using their silos to launch them anytime soon - damage to the TG6R forces was more difficult to assess as they were only just arriving in the area and setting up their command posts and their positions weren't fully known yet, but it was clear some damage to the TG6R mercenary and U.N. force had been inflicted. (OOC: I'm reporting damages to Whit's stuff as agreed, but leaving it up to you to do your own damages as I have) All in all, when the first strike was over, some 2,139 Whitterian soldiers, primarily airforce personnel and missile command soldiers, had been killed and Tehran was becoming increasingly more cut off from south Iran. Worse yet, 4 more cruise missile strikes would follow from the ships and Yemen was still holding ICBM's in reserve, just waiting on General Lee's order to launch.
In Bandar Abaas, Iran
Major Randolpho hated this desert climate, he longed for his home in Indianna now. It would be cool both day and night, not cold, just comfortable. Deer season would be fast approaching and what he shot, he could eat. Here - here it was hot as hell, even at night. He was tired of the "but its a dry heat" jokes the fucking Cajuns and southern hillbillys from Arkansas, Missouri, Tennessee, Kentucky, Virginia, the Carolinas, etc. kept laughing about. And if he shot it, not only could he not eat it, he had to count it. Worse yet, he could be sure that what he was shooting at wasn't going to be shooting back at him. He had yet to meet a deer with an AK-47. He had seen plenty of targets here like that though. Moving in silently, downwind and out of sight, he'd had to strike when the moment was right without thinking. There was no style to it though, just instinct. His team of paratroopers had made it in ok and then had been forced to take cover when Whitterian missiles began to strike the city. There job was easy though, comparitively though - they began to move through the city in a coordinated sweep taking out anyone or anything that could be a threat to the invasionary force set to come ashore in the morning. Other teams were working on harrassing the military and local organized militia (if you could call it that) which was gearing up to head to the beaches and/or east to meet the force coming in from the C-130's
::: Whomp :::: There went another of his men's thermobaric grenades in a house down the road - clearing out the neighborhood. Only good thing about it all from the army's point of view - this was fun for the Cajun brigades. He guessed over 1,000 locals had been killed so far by the paratrooper forces and less than 30 of their men were down.
East of Bandar Abaas
As soon as the missiles stopped falling the remaining planes offloaded what was left quickly and headed back to Yeman as fast as they could fly. The men on the ground quickly sorted where they stood and went to work. 50 Ferrets armed with .50 cal. guns and mortars headed towards Bandar Abaas to back up the paratroopers from this end. They were accompanied by 15 Ferrets with 105 mm smoothbores and 5 with javelin missile launchers. The remaining Ferrets set out at a high speed towards Zahedan, with the mobile Himars spreading out all over. Every 10 minutes, a HIMAR would launch a missile, indiscrimately aimed at any target, in Shiraz, Kerman or Bushear - these were not targeted strikes, these were terror inducing ones - designed to confuse and scare. It was up to the air force and naval planes to take out specific targets. By the time the Neuron UAV's from TG6R arrived to strike, no HIMAR would be within 60 miles of the original landing zone and none would be closer than 20 miles from another. Only 5 would actually be destroyed by the Neurons and several neurons would be shot down by stinger equipped Ferrets after making attacks.
In Sanaa, Yemen
As the reports flowed in, General Lee saw his chance to ramp up the propoganda and counter the Whitterian broadcast - using the override he had mandated be installed for his use, he began to broadcast to the people of Iran, and Bandaar Abaas in particular:
People of Iran - you believe this usurper claiming to be a Breshnekov in hiding!! What nonsense is this, when did a Breshnekov ever hide when his nation was at war? The man is liar, a fake a fraud who wishes to keep you from propserty with Norleans and make you his slave and indentured servants. You doubt me? Ask the people of Bandar Abaas - your own people, who this tyrant has killed - some 3,000 if reports are to be believed - of the people he supposedly cared for were killed when he launched missiles into the city - you hear that, check it out, think about it, where did the missiles that hit your city come from? from the West and Yemen? or the North and Tehran - they were from the north, thousands of them and they killed your people - the people they were supposed to protect are now dead at their hands. He no leader in exile, his is a murderer of his own people in hiding, that is all, nothing more, nothing less. Throw down your arms and surrender - join us in Norleans - eat the food and water we can offer you and have already delivered to some of your citizens. A bribe the killer of his own calls it, a promise of peace and prosperity is what it really is, a peace and prosperity this usurpter is determined to ensure you never recieve! Join us!"
With a few more button punches, the message was set to repeat over all am and fm civilian bands on a rotating cycle ensuring no matter where you tuned, you would hear the message repeated at least once every 20 minutes.

Somewhere over the Arabian Sea, nearing the gulf of Oman
Sofar the Carriergroup hadn't encountered any difficulties. The convoy's Admiral, Admiral Darlac, was confident they wouldn't encounter any problms. The single Charles deGaulle Class Carrier was well protected by it's escort: 1 Battleship of the Frunze Class, two Admiral Battlecruisers, 5 Airdefencefrigates of the Cranach class and 5 Arleigh Burke Destroyers. The actual task was escorting the first 7500 Marines who were going to maintain peace in Qatar (ooc. you have to love the expression :D)Deployed in a screen around the convoy were 15 Seawolf Class Submarines. Sometimes an Orion patrol/Anti Submarine plane encountered a fishing ship or a neutral bulkcarrier. Suddenly the Radar Room, who had been observing the Norleans fleet in the Gulf spotted a group of 20 planes (in close formation it can look as if a couple of planes are in fact one plane). Within no-time 5 JSF were in the air, with the orders to intercept the planes and force them to turn around. If possible without violence. Another Flight of 20 JSF was up in the air five minutes later. Meanwhile, a broadcast was made to the Norleans Fleet.
Message from Admiral Darlac to Norleans Commander of the Fleet in the Persian Gulf
Hail! I must insist that we are a nuetral force, only send to protect the peace in the Middle East. Do not hinder us, who were send on UN orders. We will use violence if it is necessary. I hope we can deal peacefully.
"Orange Group to Nest, still no visual contact"
"Nest to Orange Group, bandits are 200 miles, approaching fast."
"Orange Group to Nest, roger, preparing to intercept."
Few moments later...
"Shit, they're with more than we thought! Orange to Nest, enemy numbers 40!
"Warta Endorian Patrol Flight to unidentified Norleans Flight, please turn around and leave the protected airzone around the UN convoy. If you fail to obey, we and the fleet will open fire!"

OOC: I never posted an attack yet as I didn't know what actually was happening since your last post (which is why I vaguely said they were approaching the city and nothing else). Now that I understand the situation more clearly, I'll post again.
Secret IC:
When the Neurons were within visual range for their high-resolution cameras to zoom-in and see the city area, the operators noticed something important had changed: The HIMARs had moved.
The Feldherr exclaimed:
"Wir dürfen vergessen die HIMAR! Wir bringen StingerMissile und alles sonst den Tod!"
OOC:
Translation: Forget about the HIMARs! We bring StingerMissile and everything else the Death!
---------------------------------------------------
The UMACVs would simply land on the flat land surface north of the city (OOC: Remember that they were flying under radar altitude, so unless you [Norleans] had scouts around 50 miles north of the city, they should be considered unseen), and wait for the Whitterian advance to happen. Then they would take off and attack all visable targets, attacking only when they would not be the primary target (as the Whittieran ground forces would be).

ooc: Semi-applicable. My 'Empire' right now is divided into litle army-based factions. I think I got one army in yemen(that army is loyal to N.Orleans at the moment), and around 6 in Saudi Arabia/iraq areas. And no, the Generals won't like Whittier traspassing.
There is also the elite Bedouwin Corps(gurilla-based tactics), stationed somewhere in the Empty quarter of Saudi Arabia. Rumer has it that their base is under the shifting sands. Also, only the 4 Major generals knew where the base is or how to contact the Nomadic army. 3 are dead, and the fourth is sailing with his faction for Italy.
-IC- -The 11th army base in Yemen-
"Rouse the general! We got incomming missles!"
"Deploy the Anti-missle system!"
Small port holes in the ground, where the supposed minefeild was opened up and launched thousands of small rocket-like missles; opon which being released streaked into the sky towards the hostile missles.
-Barracks inside the Army base-
Alarms blared throughout the dorms, messhalls, lavitories, showers, armory, and recreational areas, singling for the men to assemble and to get combat-ready. The Army was composed of Omanese troops and Albanian officers. After about 10 minutes, the 'Yard'(as the soldiers called it) was filled with 50,000 Infantry troops, with the omanese Artillary, Tank, and Air divisions forming in their respective parts of the base.
ENCRYPTED (armed convoy, with C4 attached to the telegram just incase someone tries to intercept it  ) telegram that was sent to the N.Orleans Governing body in Yemen:
11th Army has deployed and is awaiting instructions. Anti-missles have been deployed and a second wave of Anti-missles are being preped right now. All divisions have deployed, and all fighters scrambled. If you wish for us to meet for better coordination, please specify so.
-General Sigurimi.
Soon after, a telegram came back detailing the need for order in the streets of the neighboring city of Saana. General Sigurimi ordered a division of 10,000 men to restore order and orginize traffic to the bomb shelters. within 10 minutes, the First of the ospreys landed on top of buildings, letting its occupant troops enter the streets from the roof-access on the buildings. Unfortunately that was not enough. As more ospreys began to land, the ICBMs slammed into the city, wrecking dozens of ospreys and killing over 1,000 troops.
-Saudi Arabia, 'Empty' Quarter-
A turban-wearing man sighed and proped his elbows up on the command table. Around him were saber-wearing Men, also in turbans and in flowing desert robes.
"The planes fly over head. our patrols have rescued the downed pilots, and based on the languages they speak, they opponents are either Sharinian or orleanian, against another زمرة or against the Whittierians."
"Didn't you ask them?"
"They won't say. Their training is strong. But our interrorgators are even stronger." the speaker grinned. "They will break eventually."
"Damn. keep the patrols going. Make sure they continue to أسر the downed pilots."
"Yes قائد !" The men marched out of the room and into the ahll. The 'hall' was really more of a giant underground caveren, and held the doorway to every part of the base. The hall was about 2 miles long, 1/4 mile wide, and 1/4 mile deep. The general glided his thumb over the small black stone on the interface in front of himb and it displayed a sphere, with little blue and red dots chasing each other. Below, litle green dots scurried to the downed red and blue dots. he saw a crowd of Gerrn dots with an occasional Blue and Red dot waiting next to the sand dune... the sand dune that covered the base enterence/exit ramp. A hole in the sand opened, and the men clamored in. Outside in the hall, excited shouts could be hears as the men came in. A man riped the insigna off one of the prisioner's shirts and rode his camel onto the cage-like elevator and was lifted down to the general's chambers... the very bottom. he dismounted outside the heavy oaken door and entered.
"Brother! I believe we have captured one of their air marshalls!" The Captain threw the insigna onto the desk.
The general took one look at it and knew what was going on. The insigna belonged to a high-ranking Orleaner. Clearly, the orleaners wouldn't dare attack a Vineyardian faction, as they thought of them as allies, and no vineyardian faction in the desert would attack N. Orleans as they were their major supplier of food. So It had to be a fight against the Whitterians, whom the Vineyardians were at war with.
The general began to type furiously on the key board, identifying plane types, and programing the computer to flag each dot with the faction that owned it. After the projected globe shuttered, it correctly showed the plane nationalities. The general put on a worn-looking glove with some kind of easily bendable, but shiny metal accross the index finger and middle finger. At the end of each, a small glass bubble, each with a kind of azure gas swirling inside. The general extended the gloved hand into the sphere and selected the anti-aircraft batteries that were beneath the sand with his middle finger. Then using his Index finger pointed at a Whitterian fighter. In the space of a second, the computerized (un-manned) anti-aircraft batteries extended their missle posd out of the sand and shot a stream of homing missles at the fighter the general had selected. As quickly as they emerged, they submerged. The general grinned as he saw small yellow dots shoot out at(and follow) the red whitterian dot. Without waiting to see the outcome, he selected the anti-aircraft again and selected another fighter. The general, using both fingers placed his fingers at the edge of the hovering holographis sphere, making the air and grond zoom away from the side the fingers were pressing, moving the satilite-projected-holographic-feed sphere to another area of the empty quarter, showing a flight of bombers and their fighter escorts heading for yemen. He grinned to himself, looked at his younger sibbling and nooded to another glove. He would try to turn the tide of the air war.
Colonel Henderson recognized his captors as Vineyardian and was fairly confident he would be OK - despite the burn he had on his leg from the forced ejection from his Head Rush after the Whitterian air force had hit his squad as they completed their bomb run and headed back to base. He had been smart enough to ditch over Saudi Arabia hoping to make contact with Vineyardian forces. However, he also had the military training to know, in war you don't trust anyone until they prove worthy of it. So he had maintained the name, rank and serial number only stance waiting until it was clear that Vineyard was on Norleans side in this. It seemed now, they probably were. After his flight badge had been ripped from his uniform and carried off, the man who had done so returned and the atmosphere around him had noticeably lightened. He relaxed and waited for the next move by his captors.
*********************************************************
General Lee smiled as he read the message - right on time General. He thought to himself. He had begged his superior, Joe Jackson, to let him inform General Sigurimi of Norleans plans, but had been refused permission to do so for fear of compromising the suprise nature of the war in Iran and UAE. Rather, he had be required to explain the heightened troop, air and naval forces as part of an exercise. He didn't think General Sigurimi had bought it all though, he was no fool and probably realized something was up. General Lee sent a hurried reply:
General Sigurimi:
We have declared martial law throughout Yemen, if we could count on your ground forces to enforce it and act as a national police and defense force, that would be appreciated. Just keep the population under control and watch for potential threats to Yemen's security. As for your anti-missile and air defenses, we're relying on you to protect Yemen from further airal missile bombardments and airiel attacks. - In short, you are the homeland security team. Also, if you have the ability to contact your forces in Saudi Arabia and have them contain Quatar (hell, invade and conquer if you wish, it makes us no nevermind) that could prove useful in this conflict with Whittier's remaining forces.
Sincerely,
General Aaron Lee,
Norleans Arabic Command

The messages were transmitted almost simultaneously. As the Major began to speak, the message he was hearing was almost identical to what he was saying:
Warta Endorian Flight - You are entering a war zone - you are directed
to turn back and leave this area. We are not responsible for what takes place
should you proceed to enter an area which is engaged in active combat activity.
As the Major in charge of Squad one spoke these words and listened to the Warta Endorian demands, the other 3 squads broke off and began their mission. They had strick orders, do not fire a missile or gun at a plane except in self defense. On the other hand, 5 missiles were to be fired in the ocean in front of the Warta Endorian ships as warnings to back off and stand down and strafing run across the forward decks of the battleships was to be undertaken. Meanwhile a message similar to that exchanged between the pilots of the aircraft was being exchanged between the Norleans fleet and the Warta Endorian fleet - The message said, in essence, if not in exact words, "back off or risk harm to your ships and crew. This is not your concern, but this is an active war zone."
OOC: Your guys should realize shortly that the "attacks" we have launched could not have really be intended to harm the fleet, otherwise, more than 5 air-to-sea missiles would have been launched and there would have been a major effrot to attack the carrier rather than strafe a battleship.

OOC: I've got a few things I need to post, but it's late and I'm tired - however, your UMACV's will make it in and land as described with no problems. Note, however, the destruction of the method by which any army is going to come out of Tehran and head to Bandar Abaas. Whittier and you won't be able to get here in time with ground forces to stop my invasion and conquest of Bandar Abaas and the southern 1/2 of Iran. Stopping any potential ground forces being deployed to the area we wanted to begin our invasion with was a major goal. All air and missile strikes into Iran by Norleans have been "surgical" and precise - take out roads, bridges, oil pumping and refinery capabilities and then confuse the public about an attack mobilization of the military. Could make for a nice RP set of battles.

-The Medeteranian-
Admiral Herchuck chuckled to himself softly. The poor 6th army general had woken up in Elba only to see the entire Croatian Fleet surrounding the island. The Admiral's Interface beeped and the upper part of General Pambino appeared in hollographic form.
"What the devil... the NERVE!"
"Oh, sorry about that. I was going to tell you that I was comming, but my satilite network was hacked by some dumbass soldier. We.... quickly fixed the problem." General Herchuck placed his thumb on the black-stone interface to a prision cell where a Military Computer Engineer was being whipped for his incompitance.
"...Well. What is it that you want?"
"You assurances that you are still a patriot."
"Of course I am."
"So you will follow me, the Last Grand Marshall of the Empire?"
"Of course... My Lord" The immage bowed slightly. Admiral herchuck thought he saw the corner of Pambino's mustache twitch with distaste.
"Very good then. Order your army North. Secure the alps. We have reason to believe that TG6R will attempt to attack. And gather the local Alpine militia. Their expertise in mountain warfare would be most useful in the event of an attack."
"Should I use the old Defence system?" (ooc: i forgot what the guy's name was who built it...)
"Of course. it is still intact. Dispatch the Military Engineers, Italy division to patch it up and improve it."
"Of course."
"Very good. I sail for Croatia. May Good health keep you."
"Thankyou, my Lord."

-Beduwin base-
The Beduwin general had Colonel Henders brought down to his office.
"Greetings friend. I apologise for any Inconveniences my men may have caused you. As you may well know, we have just committed to your side in this conflict." Before Colonel Henders could reply the general cut him off. ".. In order to avoid any unplesentries to any of your men, we will free them. However, we have reason to believe some whitterians may be fluent in English and mix into your ranks. Therefore, My younger brother" The general nodded to the man whom had ripped the insigna off Colonel Henders shirt "...and his men will bring you to the 'hold' so you can identify your men so that they may be properly released. The vacent District 7 is being prepared for your men, and hot meals and camel's milk issued to your pilots. District 7 is one of many 'towns' in this base, and includes quarters, an armory, bathrooms, computer access level 4 (e-mail, base notices,etc.. the security access of a standard Croatian Officer), and a messhall. There is room enough to house around 5,000 men. If you need anything, come back here." The general smiled at Colonel Henders and sat down.
"You can leave whenever you like unless you have something to say."
The general leaned over and activated the Auto-fire system in the Anti-air turrets across the Empty Quarter. The computer took over and began to fire at any whitterian aircraft that came in range of the turrets. The general glided his thumb over the Black Stone once again, and the sphere dissapated.

Wave after wave of low flying cruise missiles began flying out of the Persian Gulf - precisely targeted and aimed at roadways, bridges, rail lines, even mountain passes - the goal, one which Norleans was being succesful at so far, cut off Tehran and northern Iran with it's UN Mercenaries from the South. Meanwhile, a tense standoff between Warta Endor and Norleans appeared to be developing in the Gulf of Oman. In Bandar Abaas soldiers in Ferrets armed with .50 cal machine guns and mortars were slowing marching in from the east while a perimiter of Ferrets armed with stinger and javelin missiles had been arranged around the city to fend of airstrikes coming from the north. The Whitterian forces in the area were divided as the bulk of them prepared for the coming landing of Norleans forces while a significant contingent was having to "watch their back" and deal with the soldiers already coming in from east of the city.
Also, on the road to Zahedan, the 105 smoothbore Ferrets and 25 HIMAR launchers were joined by 7,500 paratroopers and as they made their way to take that city. Surgical airstrikes continued on an unrelenting basis there and in other southern cities such as Bushier and Shiraz.
In the UAE, the special ops forces were doing their jobs - electrical generating stations had been blown up, phone exchanges destroyed, roads had been mined and traps laid to deal with the UAE force preparing to attempt to repel the coming Norleans invasionary expedition.
The propaganda war was also heated on both sides. Spraypainted anti Norleans messages had appeared as had messages against Whittier "Whittier kills its own" was the one General Lee liked best and was ensuring was spread in Bandar Abaas where Whittier had launched missiles that killed his own people." "Chicken Breshnekov, now serving in exile" was another one he liked and that the special forces in UAE were spray painting on various buildings. Best of all, the general Iranian population between Tehran and Bandar Abaas was confused and panicky - that was what General Lee wanted.

-At a high-security meeting between the generals fo the Central and Middle east armies, all based in Iraq.-
"We got 3,500,000 fighting men here, and we can tip the ballence of either side of the war!" General Azab Shouted at the meeting table. Present were the commanders of all 35 armies stationed in Iraq.
General Milzovik, commander of the 22ed stood up.
"We have unconfirmed reports of the Beduwins throwing in their support with Norleaners. That will easily win Norleans the loyalty of the 31st Army based in Riydah. Also, General Sigurimi, that bastard, is following his oath to the end."
Another general stood up.
"If the beduins are supporting Norleans, then what chance do we have against them? Look outside! Its the desert! Their men come and go as they please, are hidden when they want to be hidden, and seen when they want to be seen! It would be disastorous for us to fight them! on top of that, they are our fellows and our brothers! I say we join them!! About a dozen generals clapped excitedly at the proposal. But general Slovenika stood up.
"My brothers of the gun and the tank, we have been backstabbed!"
Some generals began to look at each other, wondering where this was leading to.
"A few days ago, our 'trusted' ally claimed us all outlaws and criminals, shunning us, and displaying hostility towards us. This very same ally has joined with the Forces of Whittier, whom we have been at war with since the Council was around! This is a backstab, if nothing else! I will war with TG6R, weather you join me or not!"
With that all the generals flew out of their seats and began to take an oath or another.
"Then it is agreed! We war with the germans!" The generals shouted their approval. One by one, each cut his left hand with a golden dagger, swearing Victory or death.
General Slovenika pulled an aide aside.
"Tell our friends in yemen that we have joined their cause."
-Croatia-
General Herchuck's Fleet came within View of the First of a great many Mountain Fortresses defending Croatia. General herchuck knew not who controlled them, but would take no risks. he ordered 10 shots be fired above the fort. Nothing happened. After staying his fleet and observing the Fortress for about an hour, General herchuck grew confident that it was abandoned, and ordered his ships on.
-Inside the Fortress-
"Quickly now!"
"You two load the Gun. No sound!"
Two Imperial guardsmen slowly opened a gun port in the side of the mountain and loaded the gun. Then they moved on and loaded another. 3,000 Imperial troops held the Fortress, and they were not about to let the 'last warlord' into Mother Croatia. They were commanded by a Batallion Commander of Renown for bravry and leading from the front. Lt. General Herchuck Jr., son of the Admiral Herchuck below in the Adriatic, peered through a small peephole that looked out of the mountain and into the bay.
'Quickly now!!"
'Sir, all guns loaded and ready to fire."
"Man them all!"
'Aye, sir!"
He peered out again. The ships were presenting their starboard side straight to the mountain. He turned around to his Company Hacker.
"You got access codes for the Satilite guidance system yet?"
The hacker said through clenched teeth, not daring to look away from his laptop, grunted, apparently meaning he had a hack through.
"FFIIIIIIRRRREE!!!"
The entire mountain trembled as all 2,000 guns opened fire, and started rapid-fire mode. Shells came down from a small conveyer-like ststem afixxed to the ceiling, which lead down into the Armory. There, soldiers threw on shells from the Artillary shell storage and onto the loader machiene, which after bringing the shells to the gun, Automatically re-loaded them (the guns need to only be primed to fire the first time by hand, after that, the super-computer complex in the bowels of the mountain take over the loading/aiming/firing process) In a matter of seconds, the Sea below seemed alive as shells splashed into the ocean from the first round, only a few hitting ships. the computers, calculating the distance they shells were off by (through satilite feed), quickly configured each gun to the projected position of a target ship and fired. The next round was devistatingly accurate. Shells literally ripped through the smaller destroiers, sending molten metal flying everywhere, before they had time to transfer to their bettle-ready stance. The other ships quickly 'Clamped down' and armor slid over the command decks and hulls, making it much better protected, but not as fast (volume of armor makes it difficult to tread water as easily).
"Shit, they are on to us! Evacuate the base!" the soldiers outside quickly scrambled out, but not before setting up the auto-load ammuniton system. (Much slower than loading the Conveyer belt by hand). it was only a matter of time before the sheer volume of bunker-buster missles launched from the ships would destroy the ghost base. Lt. General Herchuck was the last one to clammor out of the tunnel-enterence in the rear of the base (side facing away from the base) where a large convoy of trucks stuffed with everything the base had except for the Artillary shells, the artillary guns, and enough super-computers to run the system. They quickly drove inland, depositing their loot at the nearest supply station and moving on to the next base.
General Pambino Storoked his mustache in intrest at a message from his Royalist allies in Croatia. They had delt a blow to Admiral Herchuck. He nodded at his top aide, which ment that he was to begin sending harassing air attacks against the Admiral. The admiral shoudl've wasted him and his entire army while he had the chance. Pambino remained a royalist, even after TG6R condemned him. They had to re-install the Royal family. No matter the cost.

Dear sirs:
We have noticed your massing of troops along the Peruvian borders with Chile' and Bolivia and assume it is in response to actions in the middle east. Please be advised, the person who directed our aircraft to engage your ships in the Gulf of Oman has been on the receiving end of military sanctions. Your ships are free to carry on through the Gulf to assist the Whitterian government in Quatar as we are attempting to do in Iran and the UAE. We would ask that you please avoid those areas as insurgent activity there is heavy. As you may or may not know, the so called Whitterian leader in exile caused over 1,200 missiles to be launched against his own people in Bandar Abaas. We welcome your assistance in calming the population Quatar. You will note, we have NOT responded in Peru with any massing of forces. We do not wish conflict with you in any form, here or abroad. We only wish to stablize a region that is in a vacuum of real leadership.

Secret IC:
A highly encrypted message was sent to the UN delegates from Whittier- (now not really a "nation", though) and Warta Endor:
We really, really need to stop Norleans from advancing. It's fine if they manage to control some Whittierian land, as they will be forced out eventually. But this is only if they are stopped. We cannot let them travel much farther. However, the TG6R mercenary forces are in fortified positions outside of a Tehran resort, not knowing exactly what to do. They sent some UMACVs to bomb Norleans's invasion force, but they too have halted and taken cover in the terrain miles north of the city. They need to know what to do, otherwise they will only take action when it is already too late.
The Whittierian Navy, seemingly overlooked by Norleans, moves to assist the Warta Endoran navy in the battle against Norleans ships. Several Battleships and cruisers fire Tomahawk IV missiles at the Norleans fleets in the area.
Retreating Whittier forces are setting booby traps, landmines, and car bombs, and are hiding explosives where the Norleans forces would never think to look. The explosives are small enough to fit in your pocket but take out a skyscraper. They are rigged to explode in the middle of advancing units of Norleans forces.

-Telegram to all Nations of the UN-
The United nations is nothing but a puppet!
Due to the recent events in the Arabic area, TG6R has been hiring mercinaries, and sending them south in their brand-new technology, claiming that they are acting on the behalf of the United nations. Also, a large fleet has made an appearence in the area as well, claiming to be peacekeepers dispatched by the United nations! As you all well know, there has been NO SUCH ACTION, and NO MEETING CALLED. The nation of TG6R, which controls UN security, has thrown in its weight with the Whitterians. A few days after, the "UN" ruled that Whittier should be aided. NO MEETING, NO DISCUSSION CALLED. The UN is nothing but a sham and a puppet of TG6R. As such, the Vineyardian 'Coalition' Represenitive in the UN is being recalled to Croatia in the light of such atrocities to the world's nation's soverinty.

After anylizing the tape breifly, we found out that someone had tampered with its monitering system, making it stop recording a minute before the hit. By the time it had come back online, we only saw this."

Message to Warta Endor
Sincerely,
Duke Long,
Norleans
Highly Encrypted Message to Norleans
We will stay out of any other countries. We have orders to secure the Southern half of Qatar. We also notice that your presence and that of your ally Vineyard is too much for us to handle. We will put our men ashore and just give support. We would like to propose two things:
1. Is it possible for our bombers to pass through your territory and over your fleet?
2. After the stabilization of Qatar we would like to hand the nation over to you. We have no interests in any holdings so far from our Homeland. It would be beter for both our nations if we'd make a deal.
Field Marshall Lao
Meanwhile the situation on Palawan was relatively secure. After the securing of the beachead more troops were brought ashore. At nightfall the CoB made their move and stormed for the dug in Marines. It was a bloody battle. Almost all CoB's were killed, the rest were captured. The Marines quickly moved to secure Puerto Princess and the rest of the Island. Resistence was minimal, but once the casualty reports became public, things became grim.
Thousands slaughtered on Palawan!
About 9035 brave marines have died during the landing on Palawan. The total number of dead, wounded and missing runs into the 20000. Your reporter can tell you that the landing was one big mess, which has cost the lives of thousands of marines. It seems that HQ made some pretty big mistakes, especially about the strength of the CoB on Palawan. It was believed that after setbacks in the Phillipines and Thailand that the CoB was broken and on the run. This operation proves otherwise. Headquarters have remained silent sofar. And now the news about an escalating conflict in the Middle East with a possible Warta Endorean role...Let's hope HQ isn't as stupid as they were with this operation.
ooc. Norleans, Vineyard please attack my fleet once they're on the way back. I wanna get rid of Fieldmarshall Lao! I'm just plain sick about the guy! :D

sending "mercinaries" "south" with "brand-new technology"? We don't have any mercenaries supplied with any German equipment in Iran, but "south" must be relative from somewhere, so the location is unknown....
The "United nations" is spelled as to suggest that nations isn't part of the title.
After a review of our press releases, we find no mention of the declaration of such "UN mercinaries" (or spelled correctly, "mercenaries").
"appearence" is not a word.
"no such action"? Looks like the writer is confused, as he/she just said there was.
"no meeting called"? Correct. But there was not any action, so a meeting was not needed.
"TG6R, which controls UN security". WRONG. The UN is protected jointly by four countries (Whittier-, Warta Endor, Mauiwowee, and TG6R).
"has thrown in its weight with the Whitterians"? What slander is this? Their leader just got assassinated, so we initially offered to help stop the unrest.
"A few days after, the "UN" ruled that Whittier should be aided. NO MEETING, NO DISCUSSION CALLED". There were no UN rulings on Whittier. Ever. Not even once in the history of the UN.
"The UN is nothing but a sham and a puppet of TG6R"? That is pure slander.

ooc: On the contrary, it is not godmoding. Of course, it was not any of your people.
You never said it was "my people". So, why would I think that?
When vineyard fragmented, what do you think the Secret Agents of the Empire did?
Became mercenaries.
Basically became mercs and the like. Some were emploied by generals, now forming what is becomming known as the 'coalition'.
Makes sense.
Basically a collection of loosley tied generals. The coalition, when releasing that letter, had only gain from killing the diplomat.
1). It would seem you did it.
Huh? TG6R's closest ally is Vineyard. We're just waiting for the successor.
2). The diplomat had outlived his purpose. Keeping him would just be a liability.
And what does this have to do with godmodding?
3). The diplomat had been there since Vineyard joined the UN. His loyalties were still in question. Such a "wild card", "Loose cannon", 'Variable', whatever you want to call it is not useful in any form to a warlord, or in this case, an independant 'general'.
Which would increase security.
Also, if you wish to make fun of my horendous spelling, be mature about it please.
Since when did I "make fun of your horendous spelling" (ironically you mispelled horrendous :))? Adolph Görring was discrediting the unidentified writer claiming to be "Vineyard" making slander against our government. No name, or even organization, was ever given as to the writer. We assumed it was propaganda from one of the generals.
OOC it or send me a telegram. I don't bother plugging this into my e-mail (which contains a spell checker) because:
1). Pasttime.
2). Game.
3). The kindly elderly ladies in the Computer labs and the Library would love to write me a free ticket to a DT for going on E-mail or playing a 'game'; which this constitutes.
Therefore, I typically make my posts quick, and without fussing over them too much.
It would make much, much more sense to write it in MS Word (which is on every school computer) for the following reasons:
It would look like school work.
It quickly points out spelling errors.
You would spend much less time on the "game" website, lower your risk of a DT, as all you need to do is copy & paste it.
Although the RP does get very interesting, I dont, and will never, take the time to edit it.
There is no "time" that is used up. Just quickly Google any word you do not think is right (it will say "Do you mean ____?"). I don't even spell check my posts, I just Google any words I don't think I spelled right. Or better yet, just follow the better method outlined above (with MS Word at school).
The fact that you go throughn great pains to point out my errors in spelling compelles me to want to pacify that urge by purposly misspelling.
I go "throughn great pains"? Huh? It's an effective (and painlessly quick) way to discredit slander against my country from an unidentified person.
And, in regards to your interpertation of the letter, your
"no such action"? Looks like the writer is confused, as he/she just said there was.
is misenterpreated. It appears you have mis-read that segment.
No, no, no. That's NOT my interpretation. That's my government's interpretation. IC does NOT equal OOC.
it is referring to the Oficial UN, not you.
Who said it was refering to me? You say in the sentence before that a fleet claiming to be operating for the UN appears near Iran, and then you say in the next sentence "there has been NO SUCH ACTION". It still doesn't make any sense.
Also, I wouldn't think Investigators, Bodyguards, and MPs as being "Visitors."
Why not? We don't allow bodyguards at the UN, anyway. Vineyardian Military Police don't belong at the UN either. And so do your so-called "investigators", which I have no clue what they are investigating.
Your comments about me being "Drunk" is quite Insulting.
I never called you drunk!
IC or no, you were referring to my spelling.
Nope. Adolph was referring to the unidentified IC writer's education level to discredit it as slander from a drunk man. It has nothing to do with you. The whole theme of the rebuttal was that the IC writer is writing incoherent slander.
That and your mood seems sour at this juncture, and it is oozing into your posts. So I will have to curb it.
Yes and no. TG6R is indeed annoyed at the Vineyardian rebels. However, they still don't know who wrote that message in the first place. So, they are not really insulting Vineyard in that rebuttle.
Also, more formally, you still have not validated your claim to be following the UN's wishes.
TG6R is not acting for the UN. You seem to think they are or something. I never said TG6R was. What TG6R did say was that they were going to sent forces to help stop the unrest as a friendly gesture to the UN member Whittier, and other UN nations are encouraged to assist. Then Norleans suddendly invades Iran, and since the UN cannot send forces into combat (which is written into the Earth V UN Charter), nothing came of the request.
Please, back up your claim that it is a godmod.
Both parts of that sentence are wrong. Firstly, I never made that claim. Secondly, posting inaccurate remarks by an IC character has always been allowed.
I want to see some UN meeting posts where the members all discussed a course of action.
They can't do much because the UN can't enter an interstate war. So, the meeting would have to be either a peace talk or a plan for the future.

In Bandar Abaas
The Whitterian troops were pinned. Advancing from the east were Norleans forces. There Ferrets and special ops teams had caused a panic in the civilian population and were driving them to the sea, a sea where another Norleans force - their main army, was preparing to land. The air battle over the coast had barely lasted a day. There just weren't enough Whitterian aircraft in the area to fight off the forces from Norleans who had prepared this war for almost a year prior to launching it. Tehran was safe at present, but South Iran was in dire straits.

"fire in the hole"
"Damn, I'm hit, I'm BLAM!!"
"Hit it now!!"
The sounds of war were all around and the Norleans forces came ashore. Worse yet for the defenders were the Gator Guards that had launched their attacks from behind the defenders of the beach. RCAV bunker busters had taken out their main fortified defenses. They were relying on a force of less than 400 tanks to defend the landing area. Not enough, it was clear though. 15,000 soldiers with 50 Appachees armed with TOW missile and Javelin missile launchers were more than a match for the tanks. The invaders would make it onshore. UAE's only hope, the U.N. a hope that was as distant as unrealistic.

Qatar:
Receiving word that there would be no assistance in defending UAE from Norlean aggression, General Gregmeir had to make a decision. Leading his troops into a suicidal confrontation with far superior and more numerous Norleans forces would be suicidal. There would be no help from the UN which was locked in debate as far as he knew. He didn't like the idea of abandoning Whittier territory. But then, not everyone recognized Brezhnekov's son as the nation's ruler. There was no consensus on who the ruler was. All he knew was that some higher ranking Generals had gotten together in Tehran and virtually crowned Victor Brezhnekov the leader of the UPR. There was never a proper election. (OOC: None of the other nation's governments are going to know this cause these are only what he is thinking to himself in his head though Norleans can press the point of what elections were held to make Victor the new SG, which would make the rp more interesting and create more intrigue to play with)
Meantime, he was already having a hell of a time keeping order in Qatar. General Bathmus in Bahrain had refused the order to move toward UAE justifying it on the basis of the need to maintain order in Bahrain. Bathmus was more sure minded but he has also been around a lot longer than any of the other gulf generals. He would back Bathmus if there was an attack on Bahrain. Bahrain was a lot closer than UAE and Gregmeir had once served under him. He ordered his forces at the Saudi Qatar border to halt and turn around. They would return to their bases and return to maintaining law and order in this corner of the UPR. Three other Generals, however, Hasmus, Guts, and Intestines had heeded orders to move through Saudi to attack Norleans in Oman. Though they were warned they went ahead any way, without proper provisions or supplies. Some of their forces would die of dehydration along the way. But at their destination, the remainder would end up meeting their doom.
Bandar Abbas: Rampant gunfire broke out in the streets as gun men (not associated with either side, but rather random bandits, began attacking fleeing civilians and taking advantage of the chaos to rape and murder women and children many of whome were forced into "domestic" slavery and sold in other nations in their underground black markets.
This scene was reportedly repeated in other cities through out the far corners of the UPR.
Grenada: Seeing the inevitable collapse of the UPR before his very eyes, and refusing to accept Victor Brezhnekov as the new UPR leader due to the fact he was never elected, the Governor of Grenada, announced he was holding a referendum on independence from the UPR. Though he said Grenada would rejoin if the UPR restabilized with a duly elected leader.

In other parts of the UPR, local Generals were too busy maintaining order in their part of the woods to contribute significant forces to defense of Iran. So in many parts of the UPR, the call to send forces to defend mother Iran went largely unheeded. Nor did they desire to compete in the quest for a new national leader.

WNN: SUSA SECEDES FROM IRAN!!
Today the governor of Susa, declared that the Autonomous Socialist Republic of Susa (the province in Southwest Iran and is where the ancient city state of Susa is located), would hence forth be known as the People's Republic.
The governor, the 15 year old daughter of the late Secretary General, has refused to accept her older brother as the legit ruler of the nation. Saying her brother is too easily influenced by corrupt interests who are just using him, she said her job as governor of Susa was to ensure the well being of the Susan minority in Iran. At this time, that means seperating from mother Iran, she said in her statement.
She has asked all foreign forces to stay out of Susa so as to avoid creating a panic and has asked for economic assistance in creating an independent Susan economy.
Outside observers and columnists are saying that this may be the beginning of a family feud over who has the best policies for the people of the UPR.

Being the child of a former Secretary General, Governor Evelyn Brezhnekov was able to call upon the support of certain elements in the former UPR's space and nuclear programs. The break up of the UPR was all but inevitable, with the invasions and the secessions. Her concern was the huge number of nukes scattered at silos around the nation. At her request officials at the National Nuclear Forces Command began dismantling the nukes located in Iran to transport them to secure and secret sites in Northern Iran. Spec Ops were sent in to augment and speed up the process. The nukes must not fall into enemy hands.
She was roused from her thoughts when the phone rang. It was her advisor. Several Vineyard armies were spotted headed into Iran, without resistance. She frowned though as she saw the sat image. 2 of the Iranian units were headed into Susa. She was displeased.
Within minutes 5 armies, stationed in Susa, were heading toward the intruders. She had explicity stated she wanted no foreign troops in Susa. Vineyard having internal troubles of its own, these might end up being nothing more than some wayward commanders getting lost or being adventurous. Best to scare them off with greater numbers.
The South Pacific: Evaluating the cause and effect of the Grenada and Susan secessions, the military governor of the new South Pacific territory was grateful to Mauiwowee assistance in maintaining law and order.
The same went for the territorial governor of Luzon and Mindoro in the Phillipines. The three governors working closely with Mauiwowee to preserve order and the economy.

Of the 30 armies In iraq,20 began the grand advance into Iran. The news of Susa breaking away gave the generals hope that other states would follow. 10 armies spearheaded towards the capital, while 3 armies made for susa, 2 armies were marching in between the Susa and Tehran strike force, to pick up and distroy any whitterian army already hdeaing for susa. The last 5 advancing armies struck north to attack/claim/destroy any hold out cities and villages that would not submit.
OOC: I will have to ignorn that until you reply to the "payment". It's simply unfair to not to answer it.
*Also (what I am guessing you'll try to do), you cannot possibily have your soldiers reject the "payment" in certain cases. What I mean is that "private merchants" (which Vineyard, or even the soldiers, do not know they are from TG6R) were offering large sums of money in return for service in Whittier-, long before the generals set up in Iraq with organized armies (and at a time when they were disorganized and most likely not being payed). In other words, a good amount of your army should of been paid off by now to protect Whittier.
The isolated Iraqi forces (OOC: There's still no central government) were offered large sums of money if they would protect Iran around a week ago... The exact sum of payment they cuold request. The answer was being awaited...

Bandar Abaas
The invasion feared by the Whitterian troops remaining in Bandar Abaas was on them. Ship after ship unloading a seemingly endless stream of Norleans' soliders. Backed by helicopter gunships, a pounding from the naval guns in the Persian Gulf and with Norleans' special forces at their backs, the demoralized Whitterian army and remaining naval and air units in the area fought bravely. With the city cut off from the Tehran and the north and turmoil in Susa, they didn't have a chance.
Colonel Lucia Brazada of the 123rd Desert Brigade looked around at the landing area for oil! Damn it, all these men dead for oil! Profits from which, few if any of their families will ever see. He knew his duty though and he understood the fight for oil. Oil was power and the families were out to control as much of it as possible. The alliance with Vineyard in the region was working well. The alliance with Sharina at home was also just as profitable. Between the 3 nations, they controlled the bulk of the world's oil supply. Only Mauiwowee came close and they were no threat and a small player who generally kept their oil to themselves anyway and didn't play the world market. Colonel Brazada had done his home work. :::: WHOMP!! :::: another Whitterian mortar from the top of one of the taller building facing the landing sites hit a 100 yards or so to his left, killing another 4 or 5 of his soldiers as they came ashore and tried to offload equipment:
"Damn it men!! Get some back up in here!! - Sparks, get some of the choppers in here, take out those fucking buildings!" He barked to those around him."
::: WHAM!!! :::: A huge chunk blew out of the side of a building 4 stories up and Whitterian soldiers bodies, at least 3, came spilling out in a cloud of concrete dust. The special forces had reached the point they were cutting the Whitterians down from behind.
The major portions of the landing and battle lasted a good 36 hours with skirmishes lasting for days afterwards as the Norleans troops advanced slowly into the city to meet up with their special forces coming in from the Whitterian backside. In the air, the battle was over in less than 8 hours as the Whitterian forces, hopelessly outnumbered, were either shot down, or retreated towards Susa or Tehran. In the water it was much the same, though a Whitterian sub did manage to completely cripple the Norleans' carrier, Fayetteville before being sunk itself. The carrier limped into the straights of Hormuz where a decision to scuttle her was made about 2 weeks later.
When the battle of Bandar Abaas was over, the toll was large, but Norleans had secured the city.
5,890 Norleans soldiers dead and another 17,438 wounded. 14,983 Whitterians dead (many of which were civilians caught in the cross-fire) and another 29,733 wounded. Norleans had also lost a carrier (the Fayetteville), 3 Battleships, 2 Frigates and 2 Destroyers and 8 troop ships and 18 landing craft. Some 59 jets and 24 attack helicopters also lay in ruins (compared to 102 Whitterian jets and 18 helicopters). Whittier had also lost a carrier (Luzon) and 2 subs, 5 battleships and 4 Destroyers - pretty much their entire navy in the Persian Gulf. The navy in the Pacific was intact and could pose a threat later, but was of no concern at present.
With Bandaar Abaas secure and UAE on the verge of total conquest, the Norleans commanders began working on their next objectives.

Sirs,
Thank you for your assistance in this glorious conflict and conquest of the Whitterian Communists. Your allegiance has not been forgotten or overlooked. We are aware of the difficulties Vineyard faces in todays world. In order to ensure continued safety and well being for your people, some 300,000 tons of additional foodstuffs and agricultural supplies are being routed towards Riyahd and some of the shifting sand bases, at this time - consider them a gift to your people. Let us all live long and prosper together.
If you need anything, please send us word. Our forces in the area have been directed to assist you in securing your borders and containing any threat from retreating Whitterian forces.
Duke Long,

Dear Sirs/Madams:
We will recognize your claims and the official status of your government. If you need assistance, please let us know and we will supply what we can. Our forces have been directed to refrain from further activity in your area and to supply you with anything you request that they can. It is our intent to take and maintain control over the south 1/3 or so or Iran as we have forces spread throughout the region. Your recognition of our assimilation of the area is requested at this time. Cooperation between the 2 of us will ensure the withdrawal of the UN's troops and collapse of claims to true rulership by the militarally installed dictator in exile that claims a birthright to the throne of the UPR and Iran. We will support you effort to control and maintain the peace in Susa and its surrounding area.

General Istbanatatti was visiting the Mobile Command center of General Ibn. Although both men distrusted eachother, under the circumstances they needed to cooperate in order to win against the incomming force. They were outnumbered, 2 to 5. Although the Madagascarians were experienced, they wern't used to a desert cimate, while the inexperienced Saudis were.
General Istbanatatti pointed to a ridge 20 miles west. "I say we fall back to here. It will be relitively easy to defend and will lure the enemy armies further away from their city then.." Istbanatatti pointed to the column heading for another destination to the north. The 1st Iraqi army will turn south and outflank the persuing armies when they engage us at the ridge, cutting off their supply lines and engage their rear."
Ibn piped up. 'But we will still be outnumbered.. and who is to say that the 1st Iraqi will join us?"
General Istbanatatti glared at his ally. "What do you mean? We will outflank them!"
Ibnsighed and pointed to the 2 figures holding flags and standing on a ridge on the hologram. "These units are either inexperienced or unused to the desert. Both of these are worth one enemy whitterian army. For all we know, the enemy is experienced, as they are localized and not so spread as the Empire was at its peak. I say that we march north, and try to disengage the enemy. They won't leave their city completely unprotected, so they will fall back to it once the persuit drags out."
General Istbanatatti could not refute the logic of this boy-general, but he didn't care. "It will be a cold day in hell before I see my army flee like dogs! Run if you will, sir, but im staying!"
General Istbanatatti guestered with his right hand and an aid took him away in his wheel chair.
General Ibn spat on the sand when Istbanatatti's O0sprey took off and headed north to his Madagascarian army.
General Ibn went into a guarded command tent, his soldiers standing at attention and saluting as he passed. The soldiers had obviously been there for awhile, their pants smatterted with sand and small bags forming under their eyes. He entered the tent, finding himself alone with a computer interface and 2 officers.
"Shut up" he said, cutting off an officer who had just opened his mouth.
"First off, relieve the watch outside. They look like they are gonna collapse at any moment. Replace them with 4 regulars from 1st batallion."
"Aye sir!" A officer wacked the heavy tentflap out of the way and went outside.
Ibn turned to the remaining officer.
"Is it ready?"
"Yes, sir."
"Send it then. God help us."

Abu Dhabi
They had been completely cut off from any support and seemingly abandoned. The commander of the Whitterian forces had seen the writing on the wall and had decided to save his people rather than let them die needlessly. He was criticized heavily for the surrender by many, but the truly intelligent of the army understood.
The Norlean's army had come ashore at 4 am in Dhubai 5 days earlier. The fighting had been fierce, but the Norleans' special forces that had appeared from the rear of the beachead defense systems had surprised the defenders. Suddenly they found themselves being fired on by robots whose operaters were no where to be seen while thousands of armed men stormed their forward positions. It wasn't quite a slaughter, but it had come close and no one had objected when the order to retreat was given. 4,874 men dead was enough and with the air support the Norleans' forces could call on that UAE was without, it was a wonder that so few UAE soldiers had died in the battles on the beach.
It hadn't taken long before the Norleans forces had laid siege to Abu Dhabi and after 4 days, General Arlhara Phukeen Bastaurd had sent out the request to the Norleans forces for a parlay to discuss terms of surrender for the city (and effectively UAE as a whole). Norleans would win this one.

First Mate Henderson was surveying the area when it happened. The city was secure, In fact, things had retreated into a lull and life was almost boring. It was sometimes hard to recall that a war was in fact still very much in progress. However, today, it would be hard to forget. As he approached the bow of the battleship Nashville the small fishing boat pulled up alongside and exploded. the ship now had a 12' diameter hole, right at the water line and 12 dead or missing crewmem. Worse yet, If something wasn't done fast, there'd easily be another 150 or so as the late watch in the staffing rotation was in the process of a shift change when the bomb exploded and both shifts were stuck below in the twisted and melted metal of the attack. In short, the Nashville was in trouble and the city might not be as secure and safe as the home office reported.

Your Highness:
We also agree. We have not received any similar communication from any former UPR states. We would be willing to work with Grenada or other breakaways should they contact us. Below is a map which indicates the area we have basically secured. If you draw a line from Bushehr to Shiraz and then over to Kerman and down to Zahedan it is safe to say that we are generally in control of territory south of that line. Zahedan is currently under siege, but they won't hold out much longer. Kerman capitulated under offers of food and aid for her citizens and that food and aid is being delivered regularly. Busheher and Shiraz, once cut off from the North and Tehran surrendered when they saw what had been done in Bandar Abaas. However, most of their true military forces retreated back to Tehran where they are still holed up. There is a minor insurgency element in the areas we control with skirmishes and terrorist type activity happening on a fairly regular basis, but we're gradually getting the people to line up with us once they see we support stability and local rule. Our only interest is stability and oil profits which we use to boost the local economies and maintain employment levels with. If you could please indicate how far you feel your reach is on the map, it would be useful so that coordination of efforts between us could begin. It would also appear that some support from factions of the former Vineyardian government is in support of your independence from the UPR. Finally, note that we maintain our general stance of neutrality in world affairs, but do not see how recognizing the arising of a new government from the ashes of one that has collapsed is a violation of that general principal.

The military governors of Qatar and Bahrain consulted on the situation via video conferencing. Awaiting orders from Tehran was impossible as the secessionists and Norleans had virtually cut off the supply route between Tehran and the rest of the UPR.
The idea of a leader's son succeeding him just because of birthright was alien to UPR traditions and culture. It smelled of a rat. Victor Brezhnekov didn't even act like a leader. It was more like he was being pushed or puppeted by someone. It seemed he was just a figurehead for someone operating behind the scenes. Or so, Qatar's military governor, Antonio Rose, stated during the video conference.
James Kweed, the governor of Bahrain could not have agreed more.
The situation in Iran was destroying the UPR. Neither Qatar nor Bahrain, by themselves, could withstand foriegn aggression as was happening in the UAE and Iran. But they did agree that their chances of self defense were greatly improved if they joined together.
Of prime concern the immediate piece of unstable Vineyardian Saudi land immediately adjacent to their territorries. Vineyard was an ally of the UPR but there was great fear that the instability would cross the border.
But, while they saw it as possibly the greatest threat to the security of their provinces, it would have to be placed on the back burner.
They had agreed to issue a joint press release.
Fox News Alert: PERSIAN GULF STATES SECEDE
Today the governors of Bahrain and Qatar signed an agreement declaring independence for their two territories and further signed a treaty binding the two together to create a new nation in the middle east. The new nations was declared "Republic of the Persian Gulf" according to the treaty.
The two sides have agreed that there will be elections to see who gets to govern the new nation.
Meantime, Whittier General Raul Cedras condemned the action calling it illegal. He accused Norleans of being behind a conspiracy to break up the UPR. In the days sinces the collapse General Cedras has emerged as a man to reckon with and it is believed by knowledgable people that he is the real man in control in Tehran with Victor Brezhnekov taking all cues from him. Several courts which had charged Cedras with corruption at the height of Whittier power were disbanded by Cedras' orders after the Brezhnekov assassination and the judges on those panels were found dead in their homes.
It should be noted that Fox is still tyring confirm these accusations and trying to learn more on who Cedras is. We will keep you posted.

We have intercepted an insecure communication orginating in Norleans and terminating in Susa Whittier. The orginal English message is attached.
Sincerely,
Duke Long, Norleans
We have also informed the RIA of the situation.

Sirs:
I wish to inform you that Duke Long of Norleans has officially recognized your indepenence from the UPR and we have made arrangments to deliver food and other agricultural supplies to your territories from our holdings in the North American midwest and farm belt. Let of know of any other needs your people may have. Note, we have significant naval forces in the Persian Gulf at this time and can free up some to assist in establishing your independent rule and security.
(OOC: Norleans owns the American South, Midwest and Plains states, no better agricultural development exists anywhere in the RL world IMHO - we can ship food and related agri. goods by the metric ton with no problem).

While we accept your recognition there a couple matters of concern to us. First off, in your statement of recognition you did not address our claims to the islands lying between the lands of Iran and the UAE. We would be more appeased if you would recognize our sovereignty over such islands.
Second, you have addressed our nation as “The United States of Bahrain and Qatar”. For purposes of creating a common national identity we call ourselves “The Persian Gulf Republic”. It is to be said that your addressing nation as USBQ is embarrassing to our government. It is our hope that this was an oversight on the part of the official who wrote the speech your leader gave.
Regarding the status of your occupation of UAE, while we hold that it is illegal at the moment. Our position on the matter is negotiable. You should be aware that the UAE governor and his staff are living in exile in Tehran with the “UPR government” or those who are pretending to be the leaders of the UPR but we know who the real leadership in Tehran is.
We propose a diplomatic meeting in a third nation that would involve ambassadors from our two nations who would negotiate on behalf of both our nations. Any agreement would require that the ambassadors call their respective capitals for permission or for further instructions.

Tehran
General Cedras II, angrily pulled the trigger, sending the lethal bullet that killed the 18 year old female secretary. She was good in bed but she had made the mistake of bringing bad news. Those who brought bad news to the General always ended up dead.
He had just received news that Norleans had recognized yet another seperatist movement, the so called Persian Gulf Republic. It was not supposed to be this way. In the wake of his planned assasination of Brezhnekov, there was supposed be chaos and disorder and violent anarchy. There were supposed to be celebrations when he took over and “restored” order. Only when he had taken over the entire UPR and killed off every single Brezhnekov would his father’s death be fully avenged.
First Susa, then Grenada, then the Caucasus, and now the Persian Gulf territories. And his business relations with Governor Omar, the governor in exile for the UAE territory, were cool.
At least only Norleans recognized the separatists. But in due time, he would militarily force all former UPR territories back under his rule. And he would destroy Norleans, he thought.
At least even Norleans had not yet formally recognized the independence of the self declared Caucasus Republic. And he intended to keep it that way and he had just the right plan for it…..
As for Susa.
Somewhere else on the compound, in an underground dungeon, Victor Brezhnekov lay sprawled in his cell. His “benefactors” had griped him. Urging him in “nice” terms to urge his sister Evelynn to give up her self declared independence and return to the UPR. Victor had reportedly answered, “I don’t control what my aunt does.” The General was very displeased at this response.
He had Victor Brezhnekov sign yet another emergency order. This time banning the right to assembly, protest, and free speech in the remaining parts of the UPR. Those caught having illegal public meetings or illegally meeting in their homes were to be shot on site.
---------
Open IC:
Evelynn was in a good mood. First talks with Norleans had succeeded. Then some of the Vineyardian sanctions had pledged their allegiance to her. She had secured her state’s independence but she still had to contend with the regime to her north. A regime she refused to deal with or recognize. So far, 4 other provinces had followed in her steps. But she didn’t care bout them. She only cared about securing land for herself and declaring herself queen. They say hindsight is always 20 20. Brezhnekov was told that his daughter was too young for such a position but the spoiled young teen girl had prevailed upon him into supporting her candidacy. And now she had written half a substantial portion of the mother land.
Her brother Victor was the head of the evil northern regime.
Her other siblings, Sarah, Elizabeth and her mother Rachel had fled into exile. It was not known what nation they had fled to. Rumor was`that they were hiding in the mountains of east Iran, near Afghanistan.
Afghanistan: the newest of the Iranian provinces. The troops there were loyal to the regime and would not break off. They had no reason too. They believed the statements and decrees that the regimes actions were necessary. They were puppety by the regime and the other main actors in the national drama.
(Yet at the end of it all, they would prove their importance and decide the fate of the entire UPR, but for now they were in political hibernation) Governor Akba had not taken sides but had pledged continued loyalty to the UPR. He was a shrewed man and not one to piss off. He didn’t like being lied to either. If he ever found out that the regime in Tehran had been lying to him, the whole heavens would fall and he would cause the very earth quake. The assassination and the foreign invasion and the consequent breaking away of the 4 provinces were confusing and saddened him. It saddened him greatly that his homeland was breaking away. But he was just too busy keeping things calm and stable in Afghanistan. He thought the recent decrees from Tehran were most unusual but thought nothing more because they were lawful due to the fact they came from someone with higher rank than his. Who was he to question them. He was the one who decided the provincial motto of Afghanistan “Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach the same man how to fish and you have fed him for a lifetime.” Though he was foreign, he was popular among the locals and known for wisdom and realism. Yet he was not wise in all things. But he was known both locally and abroad for his fairness in dealing with natives and foreigners alike. No one in his province could be siezed or arrested without just cause or without having broken some law. He did not make the national laws, he only enforced them.

We would be willing to accept participation by the other former states. We have some concerns regarding Grenada's recent invasion of certain islands in the Carribean. Of all the states, it seems that Caucasus is the only one to leave the union without condemnation or a shot being fired. We would like to know how they achieved that.
We propose having the talks in Mauiwowee. If that nation accepts to host it.
And we are grateful for your recognition of our soveriegnty over the islands of the gulf.
We look forward toward increasing relations.

"Sire, a proposal has begun making the rounds that we host peace talks with Norleans and some of the break away Whitterian states - primarily Susa, the Caucus and the so called Persian Gulf Republic. I thought you should know before this hits the wire services."
"Hmm, Jack, how do the Whitterian territories here in the Pacific feel about all this?"
"Well, to be honest sire, I'm not sure. We've beefed up their security without our own forces, but generally, those in charge under the old UPR regime has remained in charge. Their problem is that they are not sure who, at home, they should answer too, if anyone. There are some calls for them to break away as well. Others profess alligience to the self proclaimed successor to Brezhnekov and others aren't sure yet where they should throw their lot. Right now it is being debated, both publicly and privately. Where they'll end up is anyone's guess at the moment."
"Jack, tell you what. Let's sit back until a formal request to host talks is received. When it is received, let's agree to host it, conditioned upon the governors of the Pacific Islands being allowed to take part. We need to settle this unrest one way or another and I will not have a war over the breakup or re-unification, whichever it may be, of Whittier spill into the Pacific."

Luzon Governor General Summers had just left the conference with his advisors. The situation back home was no closer to resolution than it was a couple months back.
4 provinces had seceded and one of them was flexing its muscles in the carribean with some help from Norleans.
The troops in Afghanistan were loyal to the UPR.
That left Madagascar, the Comorros and the islands in the Pacific like his own.
Due to the lack of support from home for the consolidation of the Phillipines, he and Governor General Pontificus of Mindoro had taken it upon themselves to plan the next stage of the Phillipine consolidation project or the taking of the islands that had originally been planned to be absorbed into Whittier. But now with the future of the UPR up in the air, it would be prudent to inquire with the other allied members of the Phillipine operation before proceeding. To ensure they still had proper support. They had control of the nations two battle islands along with the fleets.
But the political situation had reduced the air force though, if things got better, the planes would still be able to get off the ground give a good bite.
Then his thoughts turned to the other Whittier Pacific territories. He would need to consult with them to see what the next step would be. He certainly didn't like the new orders from back home. It was against everything he had been taught and raised to believe to shoot at unarmed civilian protestors who were exercising a right enshrined in Whittier's constitution.
But to maintain the military's allegiance on the island? The operation to secure the remaining islands would have to proceed. If the Whittier troops on Luzon and Mindoro were busy finishing off the Phillipine operation, they would have no time or energy to challenge the decisions of the military governors.

However, our sources also indicate the mayor and much of his staff managed to flee to Afghanistan during Norleans' advance into the city. With the fall of the city, Norleans control over the southern 1/3 or so of Iran is complete. However, their continued control in the area is by NO means secure. Multiple factions with varying loyalties exist in the region and will present a challenge to Norleans for quite some time to come. Meanwhile . . .

General Cedras was informed of the TGSR agent's arrival. If the world knew his plans for caucasuses, his plot would fail. Things were almost in place for the plot. Victor Brezhnekov was the perfect puppet and the house of Brezhnekov was taking the blame for all the atrocities General Cedras was ordering behind Victor's back. Meantime, when not in public or being prepped for a public appearance, Victor Brezhnekov was kept inside a highly guarded compound in north Iran, and he was kept drugged. They often stuck him with mind control drugs.
He was upset that some Vineyard forces had sided with the breakaway state of Susa and Victor's sister. He would have to drive a wedge between Susa and Vineyard. Repainting some Whittier aircraft and painting the Susa insignia on them and attacking Iraq or Kuwait, supposedly in the name of the queen of Susa ought to do the trick.
Meantime, he had a job for the TGSR agent. He issued top secret orders for the agent to go south and collect information on Norleans forces and report back in 7 days.

"General, this is the Duke, I want a report on the UAE and I want it now!" barked Huey P. Long into the secure phone line.
"Certainly sir" replied the general in a voice indicating some uncertainty. I've sent a report with a map, but basically, thanks to our alliance with Vineyard and the Beoudians in the desert regions, we appear to have full control and support over the areas west of Tarif, Habshan and An Nashsibash - basically all west and south of the white line shown on the map. Forces east and north of there, such as in Abu Dhabi, Duabi, etc. are ok for now and in control, but they are spread thin and meeting enough resistance that I reccomend more men be put into the area to ensure full and total control."
"No can do at this point General" said the Duke. We've got too many men committed in Iran - you have got to make do with what you have. You have the airforce support in Yemen. Iran is pretty much stuck with only naval based air support, you have naval and land based, that is your advantage, now use it!"
"Yes sir, will do. I also . . . " the phone hung up with an abrupt "click"
