Private Diplomatic Meeting with the Republic of Anagonia

The SSD Truth was out in neutral territory preparing for a meeting with the Galatic Republic of Anagonia. The ship's conference hall was cleared of everything except for the table, chairs, and large display monitor.

Richard Rahl was seeing to all preparations for the ambassador's arrival. Drinks were being chilled and soldiers were being stationed for security purposes. The shuttle bay was cleared so that any ship could land and an entourage of guards were there to welcome the guests.

Once preparations were completed, the message was sent to the government of Anagonia:

I am Lord Rahl of the Abh Empire. My ship is in neutral space to meet with ambassadors from your nation. If you still wish for a diplomatic meeting, then please trace this signal back to this location. I await your arrival.

OOC: I'm terribly sorry for my lack of knowledge on this part. I had just gotten back to looking into my telegrams. I am sooo sorry!

IC:

Space near the Super Star Destroyer started to warp, almost as if a block hole was forming. Sparks of an unknown type of patricle streaked from its center, and its edges. It grew in size, bigger and bigger, and started to gain a glow as it grew. Slowly, but surely, the patricle sparks seemed to be constant and covering the shape of the spacial warp.

A few moments later, after an intense flash of light, the ABC Ascended sat in empty space. It was only about Eight-hundred feet in length, but nonetheless it was a fomable opponent.

A message of greeting was sent, the Commander on board hopeful to get a reply.

Message from the Anagonia Battlecruiser Ascended

Greetings from the Galactic Republic of Anagonia, you are the ones we are here to see, correct?

Message End

OOC:

I am so, so, so sorry! Please forgive me for being SO late!

OOC: It's alright. I had just about given up on you.

IC: The transmission was received as an attendant rushed to the Lord Rahl's room and woke him and his wife. Richard put on his black breeches and black sleeveless shirt and golden cape. He strapped on his leather vambraces and the Sword of Truth to his hip. He sat at the edge of bed and stomped on his boots.

He turned over and nudged Kahlan's shoulder. "Dear, it's time to get up. We have guests it seems."

She rolls over rubbing the sleep out of her eyes as she peers at her husband. "Oh they're here? Well let me get dressed." She tosses the covers to the side and puts on her white Confessors dress and sits back down while she brushes her hair.

Richard smiles as he watches his wife. "I'll be down in the conference room when you are ready dear."

Richard left the room and left two guards posted on either side of the door for her protection. He later made his way to communications where a reply was sent.

This is Lord Rahl of the Abh Empire. We are here for the meetings between our nations. Please send a shuttle over to the bay where we can greet you there.

OOC:This oughta be interesting

OOC:

Indeed, and yardwork today kept me from posting........dude, I'm full of excuses. But at least its true. XD

Anywho, whats your AIM/MSN?

IC:

It had been such a long trip, a very long trip. They made multiple jumps, exiting in many unknown and known systems. It was as if they were going on a wild goose chase. But, they had found the goose, and it was time to pluck the feathers and see what condition the skin was in. Metaphores made no sense sometimes.

Greg Paladin sighed, he was the represenitive. Human, and bout five foot nine, he wasn't much to look at. He had been in the Anagonain Marines for a quite some years, but later went into the realm of diplomacy, trying to stay away from serious politics. However, he was a good diplomat, a good represinitive. Obviously, someone higher up could trust to this job.

He gazed out from the small craft, it was a fighter. They had no shuttles avaliable, at least nothing small enough to be a shuttle. This was it, and it was a smooth ride, Frist had to admit. He wore basic diplomatic clothing, what seemed to be some kind of armored outfit, with insignia's on his shoulders to show his status as a Diplomat.

Moments later, the craft would attempt to land in the specified bay. He was the only occupant. He would hopfully open the canopy, and exit the craft. His military like outfit would rattle lightly as some of the armor connected. Hopfully, this meeting would be highly beneficial, both to Paladin and the Republic.

OOC:

Bad post, I know. But its late.

IC: A legion of the First Phial had accompanied Lord Rahl and his wife on this meeting. Every soldier lined a walkway to Richard. Their form fitting leather armor showed off the D'Haran figure. Most were well above 6 feet and muscled from years of combat and drills. Each one wore the ornate letter "R" on the pommel of a knife at their hip. All gleamed with weapons. Some had swords with nasty looking axes while others carried spears where their tips gleamed in the light with crossbows at their hip. Each would salute Paladin as he walked by by thumping their right fist over their heart.

The clear walkway pointed straight to Richard where he stood all in black except for his golden cape that hung limp at his shoulders. The vambraces had ancient magical runes on them. The man himself stood just above 6 foot with a finely toned chest and and arms. The man was a match for anyone in combat. What was surprising about him most to people out of the Empire was that he was not Abh. He was full blooded human-kinda-and had ascended to a very high level in the Empire. There were rumors among Abh nobles that he would be accepted as the only root family for humans in the Empire and his lineage could run for Emperor. That would be a deadly combination if that ever came to be.

However, none of it mattered to the man. He would much rather be back home with his wife running through the wild woods and enjoying the peace and quiet. Only recent events have drawn him from his long slumber along with his entire Empire. An empire within an empire. Quite the funny notion.

OOC: Yes the First Phial is wearing medieval armor.

OOC:

Busy weekend, sorry I haven't posted.

So, whats a D'Haran? My main race is Komodren, and I have a race pic if ya need to see it.

IC:

Greg Paladin was more than honored with the welcome, and he bowed his head, almost a nod, to each soldier than did such honors. Greg noticed the armor, and the weapons, and was highly impressed. It showed in his expression. However, it wasn't long before he was to the end of this gleaming line of salutes. He stood before someone with a dark armor and golden cape, and thought about, for a brief second, what his greeting should be.

With a raise of his arm, he did a salute, his hand straight together against his eyebrow, looking like any Military Salute of a modern military. He stood at attention, his marine instincts kicking in.

"Col-"

Greg stopped himself, quickly in fact. He laughed inside, he wasn't a Colonel anymore, he was a diplomat.

"Greg Paladin from the Galactic Republic of Anagonia, I am honored to be here, and deeply honored by the welcome."

He would keep his salute for a brief moment, then lowered it, extending his hand for a shake.

"I presume you are Lord Rahl, yes?"
The Humankind Abh

Richard smiled as he saluted the man first by placing his right fist over his heart and bowing. "Yes I am Lord Rahl," as he shook the man's hand. "Welcome to the ASSD TRUTH . Now if you'll follow me, I shall escort you to the hall where we can talk privatly and discuss matters of our nations."

He turned to leave as his cape billows up behind him. His sword clicks in his scabbard as he walks and a contigent of ten D'Haran soldiers break off from the rest and escort them.

The ship is much like any other SSD only some art works here and there. Tapestries and such depicting ancient battles and far off majestic scenes. A woman with a long blond braid approached them. Her skin tight red leather suit creaking everytime she moves. "Lord Rahl, the Mother Confessor is awaiting you in the hall."

"Good. Thank you Cara." Richard stepped aside. "Cara I would like you to meet ambassador Paladin. Ambassador, this is Cara."

Cara nodded her head. "Ambassador."

Greg nodded to all that was said, observing the Super Star Destroyer's insides as he followed. He soon saw Lord Rahl stop, he did the same. After a few short words, and some lady in a tight red suit summon Lord Rahl, he nodded to Cara.

"Ms. Cara," he nodded back. "Is there something wrong?"

Of course, this wasn't a lagitimate question, but in case there was something amyss he could easily call on the Heavy Cruiser. However, if it was internal, it was none of his business. Obviously, he was just curious.

Richard and Kahlan (http://images.amazon.com/images/P/0812548094.01._AA400_SCLZZZZZZZ_.jpg)

IC:"Only that my proper title is Mistress Cara."

Richard turned his raptor gaze on her. "Cara! Show some diplomacy. I know it's not in the Mord-Sith code but make an effort."

She bowed her head. "Yes Lord Rahl."

Richard waved for Paladin to follow and Cara fell in line infront of the line of soldiers. They proceeded out through two more alleys until they finally made their way to conference hall. The pressurized door slid open revealing a large circular black table with high backed wooden chairs. A woman was sitting in one of the chairs furthest from the door.

Kahlan bookmarked the page she was reading and set her book down. Her long brown hair fell to the middle of her back and her white dress swished as she moved accentuating her curves. "Richard, I see you finally arrived."

Lord Rahl smiled. "And I see you finally woke." The soldiers left the room except for two who were stationed one either side of the door. The remaining wouldn't be very far away. Richard turned to the ambassador. "I would like you to meet my wife. Kahlan Amnell or if you don't want to upset Cara, you may call her Mother Confessor."

Cara glared at Richard from under her stoic expression and the big man only laughed.

A slight, perhaps unheard, chuckle escaped Greg. But he bowed slightly in honor or Lord Rahl's wife.

"Greetings Kahlan Amnell, I am honored."

The bow finished, Greg Paladin looked to Lord Rahl, then around the room. It was fitting, very beautifully designed. Better, actually, then any meeting room on a Heavy Cruiser, or Battlecruiser for that matter. Much better than on a Scout. He grinned, they knew style, and were not afraid to show it in any manner whatsoever.

A slight sigh escaped him, a sigh of reflection. Good, and in place, was everything. He truly hoped for a meeting that would establish many things.

Richard watched every expression on the man's face along with every sigh and slight chuckle. A small smile tugged at the corner of his mouth but he kept it in check.

He hooked his right arm around his wife's waist. "Please sit down and make yourself comfortable. Is there anything I can interest you in? A drink perhaps?"

He walked his wife back to where she was sitting and he sat down on the left side of her, closer to the door. Upon seeing the table closer, there is actually a hole in the round table. In that hole is a black holographic projector when seen from a far gives the table a solidified look.

OOC:

There's somethin wrong with the board, I might need to report it...its wierd.

IC:

Greg sat, another slight nod of thanks as he heard Rahl's question.

"Perhaps something....um....pleasent? I'd love to try your beverages."

He would give a hint about alcohol, but not too up front with it. This was a diplomatic meeting, afterall. By the looks of it, there would be some images too.

Greg wanted to enjoy the moment, he was welcomed with such respect that he didn't know what to do. The Senate and Leadership would be highly pleased by this, no doubt. Perhaps even so pleased that there would be attempts at alliances and the like. However, being out here ment he called the shots on whether to ask as such. Right now, he was logging all that happened and is happening in his mind, hoping to remember it for a report.

He took one more look around. Yes, he could feel it. This was going to go well.

OOC: Yes this is very weird...Jolt....*sighs*

IC: Richard nodded and smiled. He looked to one of the guards who happened to be a general. "General Meiffert, please send a servant to fetch a bottle of boggle and three glasses."

The general thumped his fist to his chest and left the room for a moment only to return a minute later having sent a servant on his way.

Richard sat close to his wife with his arm around her shoulder. As he looked back to Paladin, he removed his arm and leaned forward on the table. "You'll have to forgive me Ambassador. I am not a man that likes to beat around things. I prefer to be direct and to the point. So, I have learned that your government expressed great concern about this Empire's military build up. What is it that frightens your government so?"

He puts his forearms on the table as he leans forward. "Surely if your government has been watching us this closely, then they would know that we are not as emperialistic as everyone seems to believe we are. Granit that we do have a history of engagments but they are purely defensive that we do not start and are to the aid of allies. The purpose of this build up is to better aid our allies in future battles and for the defense of our own nation. Peace in this galaxy is far off and it won't be won without a fight. This is the length we go through to help our allies and close friends. This is also what we do to protect ourselves."

Richard leaned back then as he let all that he said sink in.
Anagonia
11-10-2005, 22:04
Greg nodded, allowing everything to sink in. Once it did, he allowed himself a few moments to gather his thoughts. Slowly, he began a response, leaning back.

"Well, our main concern is for Empire's that build up, that's all. Were currently having trouble contacting our ships on patrol. You see, its a huge problem, because most of our Patrol fleets are out at the edges of our territory, and our equipment is getting old after half a century of peace."

He leaned forward, "We basically have 45 systems in our space, all of these systems create a large territory. Our Senate just went through a rebellion, and our Nation is recovering. We are intensly worried about invasion. Even though it seems as if no one is interested, there is always an enemy in the dark."

Greg Paladin hoped he put the thought through. The basic reason why the newly Reformed Republic Senate sent him was because of great concerns about invasion. For all they knew, this relatively unheard of Star Empire could have easily been building up forces TO invade.
The Humankind Abh
12-10-2005, 00:35
Richard listened to everything and took it in stride. "Allow me to show you something." Richard activated the holographic display at this time. Up popped a large cluster of stars and systems. In each system was a large glowing object either near a planet or out away from everything.

Richard stood and tapped the keyboard so that every bright sphere was highlighted. "This is an energy source called Sord Raze and this is the means at which we use to have our ships navigate the universe. We currently have several hundred mapped and know exactly where they lead. It is a complex means of travel and not always affective due to the fact that you have to have two Sords to travel anywhere. As far as our research shows, your nation does not contain a single sord. Our ships do not posses a FTL field or light speed engines. If we were to invade you, it would take hundreds of years to reach your outlying border."

He sat back down as he punched the keyboard again. This time the star clusters disappeared and were replaced by 15 Imperial Super Star Destroyers. "This however could get us to your nation as they all use hyperdrives. We also have other ships that are in production that we be combining both hyperdrive and Space Time together so that travel is no longer restricted."

Lord Rahl sighs. "I show you this as a military form of no hostility. I have shown you the power that can invade your nation with the exception of a few other class vessels which may be revealed to you at a latter time. What I have done is the equivalent of a nonaggressive greeting between two unknown ships that both have their weapon's ports opened and shields up."

Kahlan leaned forward so the Ambassador could see her face. "Ambassador, I assure that this Empire has no intention of invading your nation. The ships you see before you are for planetary defense in a system that has gotten large and can't afford to garrison Abh fleets at every system. My husband speaks the truth. We have basically just showed you our hand and we don't really have the resources to field every single one of those ships."

Richard smiled at his wife and then looked to Paladin. "As a soldier, I can assure you the ones that hate war above everyone else are those that fight them. The Emperor knows this. He is a fine Admiral and has seen many wars in his time. But, he does realize that measures need to be taken to ensure safety."

"I see."

Greg sat there, gazing at the information on the holo-viewer. His eyes fixed at the information. His arms crossed slowly across his chest. Anyone could tell by his expression that he was in deep thought, and anyone not experienced in the fields of providing facial reconigition would believe he was concerned. He wasn't, although his eyes were unblinking through this time.

Finally, after what felt like an enternity, he sighed. His gaze fell down as his eyes closed, his arms continued to be crossed across his chest. To Paladin, this was a good bit of information, even better was the fact that they did expose their military. Perhaps he could return the favor, his concern was taken care of afterall.

Greg looked at Rahl, "I too am a soldier, a Marine of the Republic." His eyes looked another way, "Perhaps was...."

Looking back at Rahl, he continued. "No matter, I understand and am deeply honored by your gesture of good faith. Allow me to extend my hand."

Slowly, he reached below the table. It would have been thought that the guards would have reached for their weapons.

OOC: In more ways then one. Especially with his comment about being in the marines. Oh could you also tell me where he is sitting? I'm just curious about the set up.

IC:

Lord Rahl nodded as Paladin thanked him for the show. Richard had been to many diplomatic meetings where there was little diplomacy involved and being the man he was, he could read emotions clearly.

The room was quite for awhile while Palaldin thought things over. Swords were coming out of their scabbards and Cara had her Agiel in her fist in the blink of an eye. Richard rested a hand on her shoulder to calm her and shook his head to signal the other two soldiers to return their weapons.

Richard kept his smile though. He had nothing to be afraid of. The Mord-Sith was right behind him, Richard's sword could be drawn in a quick second along with his other "abilities, and his wife as well was sitting right next to him who also had her own "abilities.

Richard finally looked back at Paladin with a calm face. "Sorry about that. They are a bit protective of their Emperor, as you can understand."

OOC:

Perhaps at the other end of the table? Or nearest to Rahl....hmmm...whatever suits. If its a small table, at the other end. Long, at the side. Lol

IC:

Greg nodded as he pulled out a thin device, it looked like a pad of sorts. He set it slowly on the table, and pressed something on its screen. Another few presses, concentrated on it. Obviously, he was searching through something. Finally, he pressed a final time, his expression lighting up.

"Ah, here we are, everything about the Galactic Republic."

He slid it over to Lord Rahl, on its screen would have been statistics and ship classes, military stats and worlds. Basic things one would need to get up to date with something like a Star Empire. He sat back, smiling.

"As you can see, we are open to diplomacy as well. Hopfully, this can be attached to the holo-viewer. I'd love to explain."

He nodded towards all the guards, and for some reason nodded towards some hidden regions. Gred Paladin was very preceptive, he knew something besides guards was here. It wouldn't be right to just leave an Emperor alone, unless he had power. In which case Paladin, if he was sent to do anything beyond good will, would be screwed. Luckily, his intentions were of good will. The Republic was not, afterall, an Empire of Evil.
The Humankind Abh
12-10-2005, 15:05
Richard smiled as he took the device. The projector was equipped with a magnifier. It reflected the projected image from the device off two mirrors which then magnified it to a larger scale that was easily viewed.

At about that time, a woman with a bottle of boggle and three glasses arrived. She sat them down infront of Kahlan and curtly bowed to the attendants and left.

Kahlan stood and poured a glass for Greg first then slid it over to him in a tall glass. She then poured a glass for her husband and then one for herself. Richard took the glass as he sat back and looked over to the ambassador. "You might want to be careful with that. It has a very fruitful flavor but too much of it will put you to the floor. It's some of the strongest alcohol around.

The purpose wasn't to get the man drunk and have him look like a fool though there is always cause for concern. Richard had merely ordered it so that he could give the ambassador some of their finest alcohol. Richard looked over at the man as he took a small drink. He wasn't very fond of alcohol because of what it does to the mind but he made an exception in this case. "You may go ahead and explain Ambassador."
Anagonia
12-10-2005, 17:00
Greg Paladin nodded to Kahlan, thanking her. Slowly, he took a small sipping taste, his eyes immedietly lit up. Somhow, someway, this beverage tasted just like his past favorite, it even smelt like it in a sense.....what was it again? Oh, he could remember! It involved his old buddies in the 2nd. For a long moment he held the glass to his lips, as if something had just shut his brain off. Then, suddenly, he took a drink, then set the glass down with a satisfied sigh.

"Tastes just like Novahesker, pretty dang good."

He gazed at the screen, then heard the words of Lord Rahl. He began to think of what to explain, and he rasied his wrist and opened something.

"Good thing we have wrist pads," he chuckled slightly.

For a moment there he was typing on something, one could even think he was hacking. However, a blue screen came on the projected pad, and some numbers came up, followed by a name and password screen. Finally, the origional information returned, and Greg started to explain, now able to just type on something instead of getting up.

A small press on his wrist pad, and a planet with two moons came on screen. The planet was lush, and beautiful. Having a huge continent on one side, almost like a pangea. There were hints of other continents, but that was perhaps clouds and storms on the other side of the planet. The two moons that circled the planet were of equal beauty, one was lush and more than likely able to support life. It would seem it was half the size of the planet. The other moon looked like Earth's moon in so many aspects, perhaps as big also.

Greg allowed the sight to sink in, then he started on his explanation.

"This is Novar, in the Nova Kretani Solar System. Our Homeworld, beautiful, ain't it?"

Coordinates came on the screen from the exact point where Greg was leading to Novar, obviously Greg was very trusting at this point.

"As you can see, you are a long way from us, but we can discuss those matters in detail later."

Another press, and the image zoomed in to a huge Star Yard complex. Circular in a sense, many ships docked to its exterior via many long beam-like structures.

"This is Star Station Nova, a mix between a Star Yard, a Dry Dock, the works. We built this baby over a hundred years ago, and its grown from this-"

An image of a small space station like structure appeared.

"-to this."

The image of the current Star Station came back. Afterwards, the image zoomed to one of the ships. Specs appearing on the screen verifying it as a Hailstorm-Class Battlecruiser. The image split, and it locked on another ship, much like the one that sat beside the Star Destroyer. Information started appearing about it, and it was identified as a Aries-Class Heavy Cruiser.

"Both these ship classes have been in our Nation's fleet for over a century, perhaps two. They are the literal workhorses of our fleet, and have protected us from many an invasion. If you want to know more about their weapons, I'd be happy to explain."
The Humankind Abh
13-10-2005, 01:01
Richard and Kahlan both looked at the planet with interest. It reminded them largely of their home only that there was one moon instead of two. The trust in showing the coordinates to the planet was not lost on anyone in the room. Richard made a mental note of it all.

The screen shifted to the ship yards which were impressive as well. Quite like the Abh ship yards in design. Most of them are in space however. The sensitive ship plans are the only ones created on planet surfaces for the most part. Those may be possibly revealed at a latter time. Richard hadn't decided yet.

When ships started appearing, Richard leaned closer so he could better glimpse it. "I'm afraid that I am unfamiliar with Hailstorm-Class Battlecruiser and Aeris-Class Heavy Cruiser. It is not known to the Empire, at least by these names. As far as knowing more about their weapons, then I would have to say that accepting an offer like that would mean that I would show you some of ours that have not been shown. There is more to the Star Forces than a few Super Star Destroyers, but that can be learned at a latter time. I'm interested in learning more about these ships."

OOC: Do you have any pictures of the two? Heh. I might know them but my memory is so bad.

Richard inspected each ship carefully noting placement of engines and weapons. He read over the descriptions carefully and then looked back up at the ship.

Kahlan smiled as she watched her husband go about studying the ships. Silently thinking. "When my husband puts his mind to something...."

Richard finally finished studying and sat back. "They are impressive. A little small but that gives for added mobility and speed. With the weapons on it, that advantage makes them quite dangerous. What shield technology do they use?"

13-10-2005, 16:30
The longest moment Greg Paladin watched as Lord Rahl looked over the ship specs. It was a tense time, Greg couldn't figure out what he was thinking. However, the good side of this was that he seemed to be hard a thought, which usually ment interest. Hopfully, this was the case. Greg did, afterall, want to look over their ship specs, or some of them, soon.

A very silent sigh came from him, for some reason Rahl could make an atmosphere. A sweat drop slowly came down Greg's forhead, others to follow until Kahlan spoke up.

"When my husband puts his mind to something...."

Greg came out of his intimidated gaze after she said that, hopfully he didn't allow his expression to show what he just was in. He nodded politely, and adjusted in his seat, taking a deep breath in and exhaling. Finally, Lord Rahl spoke up as he sat back.

"They are impressive. A little small but that gives for added mobility and speed. With the weapons on it, that advantage makes them quite dangerous. What shield technology do they use?"

Greg nodded slowly, "They use an Electro-Magentic Shield Generation System. Its pretty handy for deflecting mass particle weapons and the like, and keeps us safe when we enter Sub-Space. But thats another story."

Richard looked at the ships again as he crossed his arms. "The same as that of the Abh class ships in the Empire." He picked up his glass and took another small drink.

Richard calmly stood up and walked over to General Meiffert at the door. They whispered amongst each other, Richard apparently giving orders and directions to the man. The General finally nodded and turned to leave but Richard placed a hand on the man's shoulder to stop him. He whispered a little more and then the General pulled out to chips to give to Richard. The General saluted in typical D'Haran fashion and left the room.

Richard calmly walked back over to the table and set both chips out on the table as he sat down. He looked back over at Paladin. "Is there more you wish to speak of about your ships or anything else?"

He left the chips laying there deliberatly as he waited for a reply.

14-10-2005, 12:21
Greg wondered what this little event was about, and what those chips were. However, he kept his mind on the matter at hand, and heard Lord Rahl's question. He nodded, with one more remark on his mind.

"I suppose the basic thing to say is that we use Nuclear Torpedoes in all of our ships. Main missile weapons, I suppose."

With a shurg, he gazed back at the chips, his head tilting in puzzlement. He wondered what they held inside...
The Humankind Abh
14-10-2005, 16:57
Richard studied the Nuclear Torpedoes and muttered to himself while he had his hand on his chin. "The same as the United Mankind."

Richard sat there looking until he followed Paladin's gaze. He grinned as he looked down at the chips. "If you'll allow me then I'll show you what is on these chips."

He took out Greg's device and handed it back to him. The screen went blank for a moment until Richard inserted the chip. He worked with the key codes for a moment until the first ship came on screen.

Richard sat back finally. "Ahh, there we go. The first ship on this little presentation is the Attack Vessel (http://homepage1.nifty.com/sphere-design/bar/bar24l.jpg can't seem to make the image link work right). It measures at 270 meters, 154 meters tall, and 105 meters wide. It's main weapon there is the Anit-Proton cannon and it is accomodated with two laser turrets for point defense and shooting down missles. It's main power source is AMM-6 anti-matter reactor. The primary purpose is either assault or anti missle. It is extremely light and very fast which makes it excellent for both jobs. However, this means the armor is very weak and they travel in squadrons of 8 or more typically."

Greg Paladin had to strain to hear that Nuclear Torpedoes were being used by someone else. It came as a total surpise, really. But it wasn't to last, he placed the chip inside the pad and did the required programming. Gazing at the information provided, and listening to what Lord Rahl started to explain.

Moments later, he sighed. Greg wasn't good at doing standard length conversions. Usually, he'll measure something in miles or feet, but occasionally, as required, he'd convert from meters. It was a hard subject for him. However, he concentrated, and did the conversion.

"Eight-Hundred, Eighty Five point eight feet?" (885.82)

He nodded, hearing the weaponry and the like, highly impressed. These weapon types would be highly beneficial to Anagonian ships. Perhaps a technological trade was in order? He smiled at the thought, they were already getting a Carrier from Northrop-Grumman. Perhaps they could investigate further here?

"Very impressive," said Greg at the end.

Richard worked the keypad to bring up the second ship on the agenda. He worked a few moments until he could hunt down all that he was looking for.

He finally found what he was looking for. "Ah next. What you see before you is a Patrolship (http://homepage1.nifty.com/sphere-design/goth/Goth02l.jpg), Gosroth class. These ships make up the bulk of any scouting fleet we posses. It measures at 1,282 meters long, 378 meters wide, and 382 meters tall. It's crewed by 220 people and contains 12 communication ships and 6 shuttles. It contains 6 MK89 Electromagnetic Rifles. 4 on the bow and 2 on the stern. It has a small supply of Space Time Mines, ten to be exact and are reserved for attack. It has one spinal Anti-Proton cannon on the bow and 4 Steerable Anti-Proton cannons also mounted on the bow but at a smaller version. There are also 4 quad steerable Anti-Proton cannons. It's point defense system includes 32 retractable laser turrets and the DFS-13 Combat Shield System. This gives protection against energy, particle, and projectile based attacks. It's main propulsion is the 3 AMM-12A antimatter reactors generating up to 137.2 petawatts of power."

Kahlan had her head resting on a fist as she looked at her husband. "Dear you are becoming either quite boring or the scientific gurro."

Richard laughed. "I'm sorry dear. I'll try to make it more interesting from now on. I've been study as much as I can about the technology of this era so I suppose it is starting to show."

Greg nodded to all that was said, observing the image and information provided. He would sit there for a bit, thinking hard once again. He was condensing the numbers, converting them so he could get a good view of the craft. Slowly, his eyes gazed back at Lord Rahl, and he spoke up.

"Four Thousand, two-hundred six, point zero three feet." (4206.03)

He chuckled, "Big with good weapons."

16-10-2005, 22:28
Richard smiled and nodded his head. "Very good. Yes the ship is quite large and it has excellent weaponry. The engine output makes up for its size and weight allowing it to manuever at an improved rate. Wouldn't you agree that a ship that large would need the weapon capability to accomdate it?"

Richard chuckled as he found the next ship on the list. "This ship before you is of the Guardship class (http://www.abhnation.com/components/com_mambospgm/spgm/gal/SNS-11/SNS-11-08.jpg). It measures close to 1500 meters in length. It's strength is in the eight Electromagnetic Rifles, one spinal Anti-Proton cannon, eight steerable Anti-Proton cannons, two quadruple Anti-Proton turrets, thirty-two laser turrets, and a contigent of 20 Space Time mines. The primary purpose of this vessel is assault and planetary bombardment. The Guardships and Attack Vessels make up the bulk of the Empire's fleet."

Richard let this last ship sink in before he went on to the last two ships that were still under construction but would make improvements to the fleet.

Greg Nodded, "Very good weaponry and specs."

He fell silent for a moment, then continued. "Our plan for Planetary bombardment was with our Hydrogen Torpedoes, but it was never used. Never had a use for planetary bombardment beyond our cannons in past."

He sighed, looking over it one last time. Nodding, he looked back at Lord Rahl.
The Humankind Abh
17-10-2005, 16:54
Richard nodded. "I must admit, planet bombardment is a rare thing for us. We only use it if a ground battle gets out of our hands. Unfortunatly this has a side effect. The technology in our weapons causes the planet to lose a bit of its atmosphere. We reframe from doing so unless nothing else is available."

Richard then took the chip out of the projector and reached over the table for other one. He looked at the chip one last time carefully in his hand before he puts it in. The hologram immediatly reacts to the chip as security measures are activated. He quietly puts in the correct codes and the files through a number of items including test phases for these ships and reported weaknesses. He finally found what he was looking for and there were two ships along with their specs.

He finally sat back down in his chair. "Finally. I imagine you are getting fairly bored of looking at ships so have no fear. These are the last two ships to see." He chuckled lightly as he looked over at his wife who was leaning heavily on his shoulder.

"The two ships you see before you are the Whitetar (http://www.b5tech.com/isa/whitestar/wsglory.jpg) and the Victory (http://www.b5tech.com/isa/excalibur/excaliburglory.jpg). These are the two newest vessels under construction for the Empire. We currently have two of the Victory Class Heavy Destroyers already completed and have finished their testing phases. We are scheduled to complete two more. The Whitestars are already rolling off the factories as we speak and we have no set number for them as of yet."

Richard sat back and pulled up the Specs for the Whitestar (http://www.b5tech.com/isa/whitestar/whitestar.html) and Specs for the Victory (http://www.b5tech.com/isa/excalibur/excalibur.html). He quietly allowed Greg to take it all in.

Amazing was the only thing that came to mind at the time. It was designs of spectacular ships, and Greg Paladin enjoyed looking over them. Anyone who gazed at him would notice his devoted concentration. It lasted for quite some time, then, as quickly as he had begun reading, he looked up.

"Interesting, very interesting. Nice picks of ships. Variety of classes, and lots of weaknesses made up for. Good Navy"
The Humankind Abh
18-10-2005, 15:51
Richard smiled. "Yes we are well aware of our own ships' weaknesses. It is foolish for a commander to believe his ships are immune to anything. Therefore, we look at our weaknesses and figure out how to cover over them. Every ship will have its weakness. We fix this problem by always sending a variety of ships into battle to cover such things. Guardships for heavy firepower and distance support. Patrolships for ships to ship fighting and breaking formations. Attack Vessels accompany the Patrolships as missle and fighter defense. Also they attack when they can."

After his little military speal, the General opened the door to find a soldier carrying a sword in in a scabbard along with a small box. He took the items and sat them down on the table beside Lord Rahl. "Thank you General."

Richard looked back to Greg. "Well we have shared military capabilities, what else should we discuss?"

After taking in the information about ship deployments, Greg gazed at the sword and the box with intent, but did not worry. After taking a deep breath, he sighed, and observed Lord Rahl's question. He thought for a moment about some possibilities, then looked up.

"Perhaps we can form a treaty of some kind? Its just a thought." He shrugged, "For some reason Anagonia enjoy's things in writing."

He sighed, then looked away. Thinking. Slowly, he looked back. "I suppose if thats not an option we can discuss technology and trade. I'd be open for that."
The Humankind Abh
18-10-2005, 22:43
Richard smiled as he stood up. "I believe a treaty can be arranged if you so desire." He turned and moved to the two items. He brought both items back over to his seat and layed them out first.

Richard was standing tall with his golden cape behind him as he looked at Greg. "It is a tradition in the Abh Empire to give a gift to those that may be possible allies."

He reached over for the sword first. "This sword was crafted on my planet in the country of Keltan. There is no finer steel than theirs." He drew the sword and the steel shimmered in the faintest of light. It was double edged sword with the blade itself being three feet long. The hilt was a straight cross piece with a large ruby set in the middle. The hilt was wrapped with black leather and the word "Justice" was gilded into the wrap. Richard smiled as he walked away from the table. "Let me show you what this can do."

Kahlan smiled as she rested her head in a hand. "My dear, you just enjoying playing with the toys. Still a child at heart I see."

Richard couldn't help but laugh and then he held the sword up. A faint blueish outline spread over his body. With a hiss and then a roar, the blade of the sword was ignited in flame. From hilt to tip the blade was engulfed though the metal could still be seen. Richard let it burn for a few minutes then banished the fire. The blade still gleamed with its same fortitude and beauty.

Richard looked back over at Greg. "A gift to your nation if you accept it."

Greg Paladin stood the moment he saw the sword light with an unnatural flame. He watched with amazement as it danced around and cought his eyes, he tilting his head a bit, almost transfixed by it. But that was not to last, the flame died and he shook his head. He looked wide-eyed around, not knowing what to make of his absolute silence just a moment ago. Slowly, he gazed back at Rahl.

"S-sure, we'll accept it."
The Humankind Abh
22-10-2005, 23:22
Richard smiled as he put the sword back in its sheath and handed it to Greg. "Take this as a gift to who you deem should receive it."

The next thing he reached for was the box. "This next item is a ring but not any ordinary ring." He pointed to a small swirling grey stone at the top of the band. "This is called a hematite. It has healing abilities and well slowly heal any wound on the wearer. It also tends to make the individual live longer as well."

He slowly handed the box to Greg as well. "Take this and either keep it as a personal gift for taking part in this diplomatic discussion or give it to someone that you believe should recieve it. Just make sure they are tyrannical." Richard winked and laughed at his last statement.

Greg chuckled, then slowly took both gifts. He nodded in respect, and looked at them over once again. He enjoyed the sculpture of the sword, and the design of the ring. They were magnificent, perhaps belonging to a great warrior. This was indeed a great honor, but who did he know deserved this? He sighed, he couldn't think right now.

Looking up, he continued, "Thank you very much. I will honor you request and seek someone that is most deservant of this."

Richard smiled. "I don't know if you have a ruler or head of government but I trust that you are quite capable of handling this small mission."

Richard sat back in his chair and sighed. "So Ambassador, if you believe that your nation can benefit from such a thing, shall we map out the beginnings of a treaty?"
Anagonia
23-10-2005, 03:21
Greg nodded, "I believe we can. I would suppose we would need to start out with an entrance."

He took something from his armor pocket, a larger pad. He pressed a few things on it, and looked at Rahl.

"How do you want to do this?"
The Humankind Abh
23-10-2005, 03:38
Richard smiled. "How about very carefully? No, first I should wake my wife since this is something that is far more to her liking."

He gently nudged Kahlan's shoulder as her head had come back to rest on Richard's shoulder. She rested their peacefully as her chest rose and fell easily and steadily. "Wake up dear. Now we are getting to the politic issue of this matter."

Kahlan slowly opened her eyes. "And I was beginning to believe you only brought me along with my looks and charming personality. Well dear you never were the one for diplomacy. I still do remember when you told representatives from all over the land to either merge with D'Hara or be considered an enemy. Those faces were priceless."

She turned her attention to Greg to clarify. "There was a war a VERY LONG time ago and we were fighting an enemy numbering in the millions. Their armies were like ants covering the hills. A regular war machine full of the worst of people only interested in killing people from our lands. In the end, those that agreed to be loyal to us and trust us survived the war. Those that didn't...well think of the worst slaughter and treatment of civilians you have ever heard of and it won't even come near to what I saw. They were the embodiment of evil and brainwashed masses from our world."

Richard looked at Kahlan with one eyebrow raised and a smirk on his face. "Well my dear, it seems that you enjoyed that story a little too much." He looked back to Greg. "Sorry about that but that is either a story for another time or a story to read in one of our history books that is currently being composed."

Now with both of them ready for the next part of the meeting Richard was the first to begin. "I believe we should start with trade first. We can offer you spaces in the Capital for your merchants and also other places on planets as you're merchants see fit. Also, if there are any resources that you would like to trade for then I would suggest listing those as well."

OOC:

I'm going to start a plot for the end of my Government here, just so I can have a basis and reference. Hope you don't mind. I don't have enough to start a new thread, and if I don't put it somewhere I'll go nuts. XD

IC:

Greg Paladin had sat there, listening and observing as he took in everything that was mentioned. He even chuckled to himself at what Kahlan said when she woke from her peaceful slumber. He smiled to himself, he missed a lot back then, but that was for another time. After all, it would be improper to go into personal conversation at this time.

Back to the topic at hand, what interested him the most was this war they spoke of. Perhaps he would read more about it, or start a discussion about it, at another time.

Smiling once more, Greg was about to speak when his pad beeped, a loud one at that. A confused look on his face appeared as he looked down at it, then back up at Lord Rahl.

"Forgive me, but it seems I have an important call."

He nodded with respectful submission to the Lord and Lady, and pressed something on the pads screen and grabbed a small headset from somewhere under his shoulder pad to his ear. He looked away as he began to speak softly, hoping no one would hear the conversation.

We have a problem

"What?" Greg tried to keep a quiet as possible. "I'm in the middile of negotiations here, what could possibly warrent interrup-"

The Republic is Collapsing.

Gregs expression went from irritating to quickly shocked, his eyes wide at what he had just heard. The Republic, collapsing? How? Why? He was in the middile of peaceful negotiations, and this had to pop up. What would he say, what could he say? What would he do? There was just no ends to the questions coming through his head, being brought back from deep thought seconds later by the voice over the pad.

The Military will stay intact, we have the Motherland. But for now, systems are starting to succeed into their own Government, the Confederacy of Independent Systems. Twenty-three have already joined, and the Republic Senate is in severe chaos right now.

"That means the Republic....only has twenty-two systems lef-"

Correction, eighteen. Four systems just left the Republic.

"My God....what...why?" It looked as if Greg was shedding tears, if no one could hear the conversation, undoubtably they would think something horrible had happened.

Many things, really. Our economy, our constitution, our Republic as one. Its hard keeping a fourty-five system Empire together. A loud sigh came over the mic. It started when the Represenitive from Epsilon Sigma suggested the succession as a polite vote. It turns out that almost all the systems in the Republic have been stressed one way or another, and feel they would be better off by themselves. So thats when the Confederacy was formed.

His tears had started to slow themselves, "How long ago?"

Two days, sorry I haven't been able to contact you. Anyways, just get back to Negotiations. The Motherland Government will take it from here.

"Alright."

Greg pressed a button on the pad and looked back Lord Rahl after carefully whipping his eyes, making look like he actually had something in them. With a sigh he put his pad right in front of him. It was unusual. Just a few seconds ago the emblem of the mighty Galactic Republic was on that small screen. Now, it was the emblem of the Motherland, the birthplace of many a Anagonian. The land still on Earth. He wondered how everything was going in the collapsing Republic....he worried of Civil War....

Another sigh and he pressed a few things on his pad. It was now concerning the needs of the Motherland of Anagonia, not the Full Republic. He wanted to cry right here, right now. But he couldn't, he had to finish. He was and always would be a devoted Anagonian, Republic or not. He nodded his head and looked through the list.

"I suppose we could use some metal alloys for ship construction, and perhaps some economic trade abilities. I believe we might be in need of some rare food and supplies also soon." He sighed, "We can offer much in return."
The Humankind Abh

OOC: I don't mind at all. Plus could always make for another interesting RP.

IC: Kahlan gently gripped Richard's arm as she watched Greg converse with someone on the other end of his pad. Both could still see the emotion on his face though he tried to hide it.

Richard placed his hand on Kahlan's as he nodded at Greg's request. "We can get you any alloy you request though it may take time for translations. Once those are discerned, we can speedily ship any large quantity you like."

Kahlan was the next to reply. "We can also send any amount of food you request. We can help your planet prepare itself to produce its own food or send special stations for growing food. We can also send any supplies you may need but it would be helpful to know what you need."

Richard looked over at Greg with a knowing expression on his face. "Is everything alright Ambassador?"
Anagonia
24-10-2005, 14:29
Greg looked down, and played with his thumbs for a bit, twiddled and the like. He didn't want to expose the horrible truth about the situation that just occured over his pad. His thoughts trained hard on it, and because of that he wanted to cry again. But he restrained himself this time, and gazed up at Lord Rahl.

"The Galactic Republic is ceasing the exist. Planets are splitting apart from the Republic as we speak into a new Empire called the Confederacy of Independent Systems."

He looked down, too ashamed to look at Lord Rahl as he exposed the terrible truth behind the many successions.

"Our empire isn't doing so well. After a represenitive from one systems suggested as a polite vote the succession."

He sighed, "almost all the systems in the Republic have been stressed one way or another, and felt they would be better off by themselves."

A shurg could be seen as he sat back, gazing up at the extravagant ceiling, hands folding behind his head for a moment before resting down in his lap. He couldn't believe that this was happening, that something like this could take place. Was their a more sinister reason at work here? No, nothing. But either way the Republic was weak right now, and it wouldn't survive much longer.

He closed his eyes for a moment, then opened them as he looked back at Lord Rahl and his wife.

"But let me assure you, we still have the Motherland. The land that still resides on Earth. Everything we have done and may still do here is not going to waste."

Somehow, he managed a decent smile.
The Humankind Abh
24-10-2005, 16:32
Richard managed a small smile. "Take heart. You still have your home and that's what's important at the moment."

Kahlan nodded her agreement. "Yes he is absolutly right and we can aid you in any way you need. Whether it be a continuous stream of supplies or military aid."

Richard smiled as he tried to calm his wife. "Yes we can help you in any way that you ask but maybe we should hold that off for the end of this conversation. Now, if you don't mind, I'd like to make a few requests. One, we would like for our merchants to be able to open markets on your homeworld or in space to sell you all types of goods to your people. I understand that this may have to wait for another date. Second, and I am a little hesitant to ask this but the Empire would like to offer anyone from your planet, jobs. Our resources have been stretched as of late and we would like to offer anyone a job in our ship yards if they wish. They will be paid of course."

Richard held off on any other conditions waiting to see how Greg would respond to these terms.
Anagonia
24-10-2005, 19:04
Greg's expression lightened as he heard the offers, "Yes, jobs would be a good thing right now. That is an acceptable term. Very acceptable. I believe we need to get as many Anagonians away from that situation as possible."

He sighed, "Only God knows when the situation will turn into chaos."

He looked down at his pad to review the other term, and nodded to himself.

"Yes, that is acceptable."
The Humankind Abh
24-10-2005, 20:31
Richard smiled. "Good that will help things out tremendously. Of course there will still have to be job interviews and such. If there are engineers and technicians looking for work then we have plenty of work for them to do."

Kahlan was next to bring up the next term. "We have studied your system and see that you do not have a Sord in any system that you control. This is no longer a problem for us and can still manage to send ships to your home. The next term would be that if you agree to it, we would like to build a military outpost near your home. This will only happen if you would like military protection during these times. The station will be fully integrated of course and your people will aslo be allowed to use the facilities."
Anagonia
24-10-2005, 20:51
He smiled, "Oh you will find that many an Anagonian is highly skilled in many topics of work, especially the reptilian Komodren. Their strength is unmatched."

He chuckled at his comment, how true it was. Two hearts for something that looked like a Komodo Dragon on steroids and walking upright. Yes, he especially knew one very well, but not well enough to call her anything. He considered her family, and as such worried about her....

His gaze came back in time to hear his other purposal, and he listened intently as Lord Rahl spoke. He nodded as he ended and looked at his pad, tapping on it for a few. He nodded again.

"Yes, Anagonian space is way overdue for an allied military base. I would say that term is highly acceptable."

After which he thought of her again, it showed on his face. Should he call in the middile of negotiations? No, that would be rude, very rude. He would wait. His gaze came back to Lord Rahl.
The Humankind Abh
24-10-2005, 21:06
Kahlan went on her with her next point. "With the military base implaced, I would move to make a military alliance. In the essence that we will defend you from any invasion and domestic disturbance. We will also help you fight your enemies should you call on us. Your end of the agreement would be that you do not have to do either one for us. Rather or not you help defend our Empire or help in any attacks will be completely up to your government. Now, this part of the treaty can be modified once you feel your home is stabilized."

She let out a long breath as she finished. "Is there anything else that you would wish to discuss?"

Richard sat back in his chair with an arm around Kahlan and smiled as he saw the expression on Greg's face.
Anagonia
24-10-2005, 21:11
"I can say without looking that most definitly Anagonia would be looking for Military Alliances." He nodded, assured of himself as he checked his pad.

As he predicted, it was acceptable, a large smile was on his face. They needed alliances in these times, especially if someone saw them weakened. He sighed, pressing something at the corner of the pads screen, silently trying to see if someone was doing alright. A quick check revealed her location; he could go from there when he finished here.

Satisfied, he sighed agreeingly, and looked back at Lord Rahl. "Yes, that is acceptable. Not to worry, we will defend you the same. We only ask you call on us to help first."
The Humankind Abh
24-10-2005, 21:17
Richard came forward in his chair and nodded his head. "We can do that along with also strengthening the common defense of your planet. We have much that can be built for such purposes."

He looked to Kahlan who in turned nodded back at her husband. "This is also one more matter to bring to your attention. There is a small alliance forming in the interest of peaceful trade and concentrated defense of all nations that are within it. With the Galactic Federation's aid, the defense of your planet can be even more concentrated. Whether you join or not is completely up to you and will have no baring on the Empire defending your people. We shall do it regardless."

24-10-2005, 21:21
He sat back, Greg had to think this one over for a moment. His head tilted down towards his pad, gazing at it as he pressed something on its screen. Much information came and went, and he looked over the major alliances that Anagonia was involved with. He started to talk to himself.

"I don't believe the Allied Socialist Defense Union would bar any other alliances, nor would the Galactic Empire...."

A notable sigh, and he looked back at Lord Rahl.

"We could use another Alliance, however I believe it won't come into contridiction with any current Treaties we have, correct?"
The Humankind Abh
24-10-2005, 21:56
Richard nodded his head. "That is correct. There are no restrictions on anything except that you may not attack another member of the alliance. If a member acts in an offensive to a nation outside of the alliance. There is no obligation for anyother nation to lend aid. You can very well just remain inside the alliance and prosper off secure trade an open technology."
Anagonia
24-10-2005, 22:52
Greg Nodded, "Then I can gladly say we will join.

He looked down at his pad and started pressing on the screen again. After a moment or two doing something, he looked back up at Lord Rahl, waiting for the next issue.
The Humankind Abh
25-10-2005, 03:04
Richard draped an arm over Kahlan's shoulder and pulled her close. They both smiled at Greg. "I believe that is it for us at the moment. Is there anything else you wish to discuss?"
Anagonia
25-10-2005, 04:30
Greg thought for a moment, then shook his head. Nothing came to mind. He sighed and looked at his pad to see if there was anything more. Skimming through a few things, and new reports, he decided that perhaps this meeting had produced the desired results of friendship, ect. Hopefully there would be more to discuss, but he would wait for them to decide.

"I can't think of anything, Rahl. Sorry."
The Humankind Abh
25-10-2005, 04:38
Richard was about to say that he could not think of anything when a thought came to Kahlan.

"What about the prospect of a cultural trade? We have many forms of art ranging from holographic to paintings to scuplture. We could trade many of art works for some of your finer ones. We would also like to know what you would say to exchanging students abroad."
Anagonia
25-10-2005, 15:55
Greg Nodded happily. "Thats a wonderful idea! Good thing we didn't end the session."

He chuckled as he looked down at his pad, obviously hopeful about the suggestion. He skimmed through things here and there, and looked back at Kahlan.

"Well, it is highly possible and encouraged. It would only be the second time we have accepted something like this."

Greg looked back down at his pad, pressing on its screen for a moment. Slowly, an idea came to mind, and he looked encouragingly back to the two.

"On the subject of students, which is acceptable, what about a Co-op Military? We could easily learn many things from your military, and hopefully from ours."

He sighed, thinking back to the Republic, but shurgged it off. They had many a regiment in the Motherland. Nothing to worry about.

25-10-2005, 16:04
Kahlan looked up to her husband since this was his area to handle. Richard thought deeply for a moment. He wayed everything in his mind for a brief moment before giving his answer. "Yes I believe that could work quite well. If that will be the case then I suggest that there be a permanent garrison at your home. The forces stationed there can be a coalition of forces. It may take time for them to learn some of the technology though since our ships are unique and so is some of the technology."

This would prove a great boost to the numbers in Star Forces. Freeing up others to crew more ships. Perhaps the planned increased numbers can exceed what was to be expected.

"I would also recommend possibly letting some of your people attend Star Forces academies to learn more and we can also send some of yours to your academies if that is acceptable."

Kahlan decided to move back into the conversation. "Now about the education, what courses can you offer? We can offer students just about any subject matter they desire."
Anagonia
25-10-2005, 16:32
Greg looked over his pad for a moment, then nodded. "A garrison is acceptable, anything really. Were in need of extra training from other empires."

With a slow nod he heard Kahlan's question, and looked through his pad one more time, looking back up.

"Well, like you have anything, we the same. Though sometimes we tend to have specialized courses."
The Humankind Abh
25-10-2005, 20:51
Kahlan looked back to Greg. "What do you specialize in? We tend to specialize in history, military tactics, physics, mathematics, and art."

During that whole time, Richard was jotting something down on a piece of paper with a black pen. It took him a few moments to finish writing and then he waved the General over. Richard kept his voice low. "Send this request to Lakfakalalae and give them the coordinates to Anagonia homeworld."

The General looked at the paper and then saluted. He left the room and Richard turned around in his chair back towards Greg.

Greg thought for a moment, then resorted to the information on his pad. He scanned through a good bit before even registering an expression, even then having a aggravated look on his face. Finally, his expression lightened, and he looked back to Kahlan.

"We specialize in Sub-Space Tactics and Physics-" he looked down and continued "-most of what you specialize in, and some odd assortments of language classes and species classes. Thats about it."

Greg sighed. He had noticed Lord Rahl, and what he was doing, but truthfully thought nothing of it.

Kahlan smiled. "Well the species classes along with the language classes will be quite beneficial to us. This sounds like a good match. The sub-space tactics and your physics will be good to match up with our own. How many students would you like to transfer and to under what categories?"

General Meiffert returned about ten minutes later with another pad of paper. Richard read it calmly at first and then his left brow raised slightly to indicate any form of surprise. He then whispered to the general again. "They are really going to send that many? In only five days?"

The general only nodded and went back to his post at the entrance.

"It would be nice to see some students tranfer under species, and for ours it would be great to study your history. Would assist us in allowing us to understand you better."

Greg sighed, he had so much going through his mind at the moment. Watching the General and Lord Rahl talk privately made him worried for a short time, but overall he felt at ease. He was trying to concentrate off the matter of the Republic, but every time he would speak it came up.

Kahlan smiled. "I think that would be a wonderful idea. If you don't mind, I would also like a few to be sent into the language department as well. We could always use more translators for diplomatic missions."

Richard had been sitting there with his chin resting on his fist the entire time the general had returned to his post. Richard took the lull in conversation as an opening. "Ambassador Paladin, while you were discussing education I took the liberty to file a request form at the Capital. The general there filed it for me. I realize that the bearucrats aren't exactly the fastest moving old men in the galaxy so I sent the request for your homeworld in. It seems that they had nothing better to do and they already reached an agreement with the Emperor. Surprisingly, they surpassed my expectations. You will have 20 Attack Vessels, 25 Patrolships, and 15 Guardships along with 20 Whitestars stationed at your homeworld. They will also be accompanied by 5 stations for our people to work side by side. Supply ships shall also be arriving in five days from the end of this meeting. Once we create a Sord there, we will be able to send supplies much faster. In a day at the most. Also as an added bonus. The fifth Victory Class Destroyer will include your planet on its many patrols."

Greg's jaw dropped, he couldn't believe what he was hearing. Somehow, someway, the Heavens were gracious to the Republic right now. He hadn't known that Abh and Anagonia would arrive at a neutral diplomatic stance so agreeingly.

But the suprise was quickly taken over by joy as he started to smile. The Republic would indeed last, and he gave two big nods to Lord Rahl.

"Thank you, and to you Ms Kahlan, that is acceptable."

He didn't know what to say, had no idea how to begin. His pad beeped, and with suprised he looked down at it, all emotion gone. It was a transmission from the Heavy Cruiser sitting beside the Abh Ship, his brow raised as he looked further into it.

An Anagonian Battleship was going to exit Sub-Space near the Heavy Cruiser in twenty minutes. It requesting assistance. The Captain on board reported that he would take care of it, and that he had sent message to the Commander of the Abh Ship to relieve any worries.

Richard's smile at seeing the man so excited quickly faded when a new emotion replaced Greg's smile. He waited for the man to finish overlooking his pad. "What's wrong?"

The entire area flashed with brilliant light, which lasted only a second or two. Out the windows gazed a massive ship, one that dwarfed the Heavy Cruiser in size, yet did not match the Star Destroyer. It was badly damaged, looking like the Star Destroyer beside it expect for two places at the beginning that were empty. It lumbered asGreg took notice.

"Whew, wonder what happened to it..."

Richard watched the craft role in. Seeing the extensive damage, he began barking out orders. "General! Get the men in place to recieve refugees. I want medical staff prepared for anyone injured. Launch the tugs to bring the ship in to the larger bays. We'll begin repairing what we can once we are positioned over it."

Men began scrambling while Richard ordered around. Tugs launched to bring the damaged cruiser closer to the Star Destroyer.

Richard looked to Greg. "I'll send men out to begin repairing your ship so that it at least has stable pressure and engine capabilities."

Kahlan looked to them both. "I'll go down there and see what medical treatment I can lend." She rushed over and kissed Richard for a while.

He looked at her before she left. "Be careful."

Greg nodded, looking back out. There was already fighters going out, and some dropships and scouts from the Heavy Cruiser.

Richard looked at Greg. "What do you mean?" He looked back out through the window to study the ship. His raptor gaze turned back on Greg. "Are you in the middle of a civil war?"
Anagonia
28-10-2005, 02:21
"Yes, but were not at war, no fighting whatsoever..."

Greg sighed, he didn't know what to think. The Republic Battleship was the strongest ship in the fleet, and couldn't easily be damaged, let alone destroyed. He wondered what weapons could have done such damage, and looked over to study the battleship.

"What do you think? Such strong metal, what the hell happened."
The Humankind Abh
28-10-2005, 02:30
Richard walked to the window. He stood there with his arms crossed as he studied the ship. "The blasts are quite powerful. It seems if you have a civil uprising then someone is supplying them weapons. That is unless they managed to build powerful ships without your knowledge."

Shuttles were arriving to pick up crew members while others were out there in space suits welding armor plating back on to the ship to stabilize the pressure. Others in pressurized suits walked around the inside doing house keeping. They began to work on the wiring so that there would be lights for ease of working. Sparks flew out from all over the ship as Richrad's men worked tiredlessly.

Richard turned around to look at Greg. "I would like to speak to the ship's commander."

Greg Paladin nodded, and quickly geasped his pad and started pressing its screen in a fast motion. It would take a few minutes before he finished, but eventually he looked up and nodded to Lord Rahl, with a highly suprised expression.

"It seems that a Rear Admiral was in Command of a fleet."

Obviously distressed by this, Greg looked down at the pad and pressed a final time, hearing a beep from the pad a few seconds later.

"Yea, he'll be coming over here in a fighter from the Heavy Cruiser. He's already been debriefed..."

Greg sighed, there was something missing here. Nothing, and he ment NOTHING, should be able to obliterate an entire fleet of Anagonian Ships, let alone severely damage a Battleship. This situation was getting deeper and deeper into mystery, and Greg did not like it.
The Humankind Abh
28-10-2005, 15:46
Richard turned a skeptical look on Greg. "You mean to tell me that this battleship is the only vessel left of a fleet?"

Reports soon came flooding back in of completion to hull repairs and electrical output back to normal. Requests were also being made to have some of the engineering staff brought back on board so that they could begin repairs on the drive system. Engine output had only been repaired to 80% with the limited resources they possesed.

Greg looked out the row of windows to see a fighter heading towards the Star Destroyer, looking back to Lord Rahl with a sad face.

"It appears that way, a fleet of twenty or so ships was supposed to be on Military Patrol in the out-reaches of Anagonian Space."

He sighed, and looked down at his pad, pressing one time to bring up a bright screen, which soon faded back to normal. The logo of the Old Galactic Republic appeared, followed by the emblem of the Motherland. He pressed it again and a screen of reports came up. His eyebrow raised as he scanned down the list of Ship names that had filed reports. An odd number of them were red, about twenty three or so. He soon realized these were a part of the Rear Admirals fleet.

"My God, twenty three ships...."

Richard nodded. "Then there is a problem and I believe it needs to be dealt with as soon as possible."

Richard walked over to the railing overseeing the hangar below where his men were working as fast as they can. "I want the Rear Admiral brought on board as soon as possible. I want to speak with him. I want that ship's drive systems up and running. As soon as repairs are complete, inform me immediatly."

His men worked with more furry as their Lord Rahl gave out orders. Debris was being cleared out of the way and the drive systems were going through over hauls. The ship didn't exactly look pretty with the patch work but it was almost repaired for movement.

Greg nodded, "I agree, this is not a preferred situation."

He looked down at his pad as it beeped again, he had it set to inform him when the fighter transporting the Rear Admiral was near. Obviously he had landed, and he looked over to Lord Rahl whom was leaning over the railing. He wondered in what condition the Rear Admiral was...

-------------------------------------------------------

Rear Admiral Zeltess had enough time just to patch herself up, and put on some clean clothes before he had been called over here. She snorted as the canopy of the fighter opened, and growled. Her had just witnessed many a brethren die in an unbelievable battle, and nearly escaping herself. With one arm she thrusted herself over the edge of the cockpit and thuded onto the hanger floor.

Zeltess stood firmly straight, she was a Komodren. Her beautiful silver eyes depicted her long bloodline, as did the smooth silver streak that came from hers tail to the tip of her snout. She looked around and showed his teeth, growling under her breath. She stood about 7'8", and if there were sensors under the floor she would show weighing around 340 pounds. She wore nothing special, just the undergarments to his uniform. Pants and a tank-top, which she slowly covered with a white button shirt. Not the most presentable, but she wasn't in the most presentable mood either.

She looked to a passer-by and called to him, trying to maintain a voice of non-hostility.

"Why am I here?"

Her tail thrashed violently back and forth, slamming against the floor.

Richard looked at Greg and then to the General that had escorted them. "Send a message to the People's Palace requesting two more Super Star Destroyers. They have two hours to arrive."

The General saluted and walked off again.

Richard turned to Greg. "With your permission, I would like to take this meeting into your territory along with the guard of two SSDs."
---------------------------------

D'Haran soldiers have seen centuries of battles. An eight foot lizard (no disrespect, only what they are thinking) was not something that would frighten them. Kahlan stood from tending to an injured man and walked over to greet the female Komodren. "Greetings. I will take you to Lord Rahl. It is likely that he has requested your pressence. Please follow me."

The 5'7" woman walked across the open hangar as construction was being carried out. Her long brown hair that reached her waist swished back and forth as she walked. She escorted Zeltess up a staircase that would lead to the over hang that lead to Richard.

Greg thought for a moment, looking down to his pad and pressing its screen many times. It beeped seconds later, obviously he had sent a message and got a return. With a nod he looked to Rahl.

"I believe that is highly acceptable. Command has no problem with you entering our space."

He smiled. Just over what seemed like a few hours a trust that could never be broken had been formed between the two governments. Hopefully, this would last.

----------------------------------------------------

Zeltess released her inner stress with a long sigh from her nostrils, and nodded to the woman that responded to her question. Zel noted the stature of the human before her, believing her to be of Leadership quality. She wouldn't know then, but she would be right in her beliefs.

Slowly, Zeltess followed willingly. Her head had been down the entire time, thinking of the massacre she had witness back there. It was pleaguing her, flashbacks of seeing Captains die and crewman being sucked out into space. It seemed nothing could make it go away! She was going to roar, to release this turmoil. She had to!....

Zeltess stopped dead in her tracks, she just finished the final step up the staircase. Her eyes were wide as she gazed at the man sitting in the seat, somehow very familiar to her. Her mind raced no longer, only her two hearts. Those eventually calmed too, but it was her soul that remained aflame.

Greg Paladin...

She slowly stepped forward, not able to keep her silver eyes from Greg, almost tripping herself. After all she went through and saw, she couldn't believe she would see someone she knew so well. Everyone that was close to her had died back there...and he was a live. She didn't know what to do.

Kahlan stopped halfway sensing that Zeltess had not kept up with her. Kahlan turned and smiled seeing the look in her eyes. The look of something more than just a mere aquaintance. She continued her walk then back to stand beside her husband.

Richard looked at the Komodren and waited for her to get closer before he greeted her. "Hello Rear Admiral. I am Lord Rahl and I believe you have met my wife, Kahlan Amnell, the Mother Confessor."

He followed her gaze to Greg. "Do you two know each other?"

Greg's gaze had easily met Zeltess's just a few moments earlier. They both were speachless for what seemed like an enterenity of looking into each others souls. They didn't believe they would ever get a chance to see each other again, let alone experience the emotion that flowed evenly through both. It was the voice of Lord Rahl that broke their gazes, and it couldn't have been at a worse time.

Zeltess felt as if tears would stream down her reptilian face, but she held back. There was so much to discuss with Greg, and it was so hard to keep control of. But this wasn't the place. Zel looked at Lord Rahl, and regaining her composure she saluted him.

"Rear Admiral Zeltess of the Thirty-Second War Fleet, Galactic Republic of Anagonia Republic Space Forces. An Honor to be before you both, Lord and Mother."

Her mind could have sighed then, her instinctive military reply had cleared her emotions that were trapped. Zeltess released her salute in time to hear Greg respond to Lord Rahl's second question.

"Yes, we do." Greg sighed, his trapped emotions were not easily released, but nevertheless he stood, if not in respect to Zeltess, Rahl, and Kahlan.

Richard was about to speak up when he felt Kahlan tug on his arm. He looked down at her to see her grinning up at him. Richard cleared his throat after getting her meaning. "I'll give you two sometime together if that's alright. There is no rush. My wife and I will be...around the ship if you need us then please inform the General who will be just down the hall."

Kahlan and Richard walked off down the hall to their private quarters with Richard's arm hooked in Kahlan's

Once the two left, Zeltess looked open-eyed towards Greg, and Greg the same. They both started to walk towards each other, their trapped emotions returning with a vengence. Reality seemed dreamlike as they both looked at one another, hands touching each others faces, minds wanting to be sure this was not just another dream.

With the shedding of a tear Zeltess deeply embraced Greg, whom did the same. No words, no nothing, just an embrace that could last an eternity. Finally, the horrors of her past hours cought up with her, and Zel had no choice but to cry, tears streaming down her face.

"I thought everyone I knew was gone! They told me they had killed you, killed everyone I had loved or cared for...."

"Shhhhh," Gred looked up at her and whiped the stream of tears from her smooth face. "I'm alive. I'm here."

A huge sniff as her head leaned down to rest on his shoulder. "I saw you death, they showed me....I witnessed everyones death....I saw it all."

He placed a comforting hand to her shoulders, and pulled away from her to gaze into her eyes. "Your a warrior Komodren, Zeltess. What could cause you to weap so?"

"The beasts that attacked us," she said, "thats who."

"Come," he led her to a seat where the table was. "Let us sit and talk."

Zeltess nodded, and followed without any hesitation. She would sit and push her tail over the side of the chair, gazing as Greg sat on the chair at the one end of the table beside where Zel sat.

"Tell me, who are these beasts?" Greg looked worryingly at Zeltess, putting a hand on the table.

Zeltess met his hand with her reptilian one, and looked straight into his eyes. "Horrible, demon like. They possesed telepathy, much more powerful than anything you have." She sighed as she shook her head, "I just can't describe them."

Greg nodded, "And what did they show you?"

"They showed me things, perhaps created things, that tore my soul a part." Her eyes were tearing again, "Things about you, seeing you die. Bruning alive, being torn a part."

"Shhhhh," he placed his hand from her hand to the side of her snout, rubbing. "Its alright, I still exist."

She nodded, slowly, sniffing once more before continuing. "When they attacked, the entire fleet was unprepared. Barely a few had enough time to prep shields. Most of the fleet was destroyed instantly, luckily the rest that survived put up one hell of a fight."

"I take it that the fight came down to your ship."

"Yes, and if not for the valiant sacrifice of....a honorable warrior, what is left of the fleet would not be here."

"Those Warriors which Sacrifice are the most Honorable of all," Greg said in truth,

"Yes, and no doubt many are Ascended unto Novaria."

They both looked at each other for a moment, a silence continuing forever. Yet it was broken by Greg standing, going before Zeltess and knealing. She looked confusingly at him, but then understood, bowing her head down to his level as she twisted the seat to meet him. She, too, came and knelt, but before Greg. He having to go back a foot or two to allow a comfortable space for Zeltess.

When all was moved comfortable, when all was done, they both looked at each other, and Zel nodded submissively towards him, bowing her head once more. Greg reached both hands to gently grasp the side of her head, and pressed his forhead against the top of hers. He closed his eyes.

"Hopefully no one will witness this," Greg said so that only Zeltess could hear, "now, free your mind..."

They would sit there for a good five minutes before anything happened, but once each mind had cleared, Zeltess started to feel a power overcome her, more welcoming than invading. Suddenly, her mind burst open, releasing all she had seen in the battle. Greg jolted as these thoughts burst into his mind, he quenched his teeth as he took all of it in, resisting the urge to attract any thought past the battle.

He witnessed everything Zeltess saw, every bit of information she took in. Ships exploding, people dying. Screams of help, screams of mercy. It was too intense, he couldn't possibly continue!

But he soon cought the glimps of something, and pressed his concentration to that.

Immedietly he saw the face of the beasts. Horrid with blood oozing from their eyes. Flames surrounding them as wings of darkness expanding behind it. Greg suddenly realized this was an image of the intense evil of the beings that attacked Zeltess's fleet, and he concentrated deeper, wanting to see them....

Just as he would grasp the true image of the beings, something grasped his neck from the far reaches of the universe, and took him form his knees to bearly being able to reach the ground with his feet. His eyes remained closed, his expression unchanging. Yet any other person seeing this would easily see the marks on his neck getting tighter, and tighter, and tighter...

Your kind is nothing put a puny stain to us! We will kill you all!

Somehow he managed to yell in horror as the words resinated in his mind. He was then thrown as he yelled onto the floor, rolling a few feet as he coughed. Blood seemed to surge from his mouth, but immedietly stopped. Greg Paladin looked up to find Zeltess already by his side, her expression that of frightening concern.

He nodded to her, "I understand now....this force is a kin of Chaos, but not of it."

Zeltess helped Greg stand, and they were to look to the direction of many footfalls heading their way.

General Meiffert heard the scream and came running with Cara at his side. The Mord-sith's skin tight red leather suit creaked as she out paced the general. Her long blond braid flowing out behind her. Her blue eyes scanned the room looking for any intruder. She looked down to see the small spot of blood on the floor. "What happened here? Who attacked you?"

The General finally entered the room and Cara turned around to him. "Get Lord Rahl and the Mother Confessor."

The General nodded and spead towards the private quarters. His green cape flowing behind.
--------------------
Richard and Kahlan lay in each others arms underneath the covers. Kahlan lay with her back pressed against his chest. She lay there with her fingers entertwined with his. It was the first time they had a chance to be together in a very long time. They took these two hours be completely alone and hoped that it would last.

Kahlan stared at her hand as she felt a cold chill come over her. "Dear, what if the prophecies prove true?"

Richard sighed. "Never let a beautiful woman stand infront of your path. Remember that saying? In anycase, it will be our child and we shall raise it the way we want to. It will grow in a loving household and will have a love for life. You know I don't believe in prophecy and have proven it to mean something completely different than expected. We shall do it again. Our child, if a son, will be a great leader of men. I know it. How can he not be with such a wonderful woman for a mother?"

Kahlan smiled as she turned around to face him. She snuggled up close to his bare chest and closed her eyes. Richard wrapped his arms around her to hold her closer. They were about to fall asleep when they came a soft knock at the door.

They both groaned and Richard rolled out of bed and threw on his trousers. Kahlan pulled the covers up close around her as he answered the door. Richard was dismayed to see the face on the other side. "What is it General?"

"My apologies Lord Rahl. A situation has arised with the ambassador from Anagonia and Cara has requested your pressence."

Richard sighed. "I'll be there shortly. Just give me a few minutes."

The General saluted and left to head back to attend to the Ambassador. Richard walked over to the bed and kissed his wife one more time. "Why does it always seem that we get interrupted?"

Kahlan merely smiled. "No rest for us ever is there dear?"

Richard smiled and shook his head. "Indeed. You stay here and sleep. I'll attend to whatever is wrong. I'll come get you if anything should change."

Kahlan nodded her head as Richard sat on the edge of the bed to put on his black boots. He slid on his sleeveless black shirt and reached over to the nightstand for his leather vambraces with their magic symbols. Kahlan slid over and wrapped her amrs around his waist. "I love you."

Richard smiled as he stood up. "And I love you my dear." He clasped his golden cape around his neck and strapped on the Sword of Truth. It hung down near his hip with the strap coming from the opposite shoulder down across his chest. "I'll see you shortly."

Richard left the room and sped towards the conference hall where Greg and Zeltess waited. His cape flew out behind him as he hurried.

Greg had another couging fit where blood spilled on the floor, he had seen an evil that had not been witnessed in years. His body was justgetting over the fact that it had been violated by a beast many lightyears from here, twisted and turned for the time that Greg had been choked. It felt as if tentacles were forcefully, and painfully, crawling under his skin into his brain, his heart, his soul. He could still feel them in a minor sense, which is what was causing blood to be coughed up.

He sighed as he looked to Zeltess, she understood the situation better than anyone. It was why they were so bonded, passing beyond the boundries of species and the like. Their souls were the same, and for everything each went through, the other took the burdon to understand. It was especially relieving knowing what Greg could do to further comprehend the pain, sometimes relieve it. This, and many reasons, was why she loved Greg.

With a heavy sigh Greg stood straight with the help of Zeltess, and they both quickly embraced just as Lord Rahl came in. Greg nodded to Zel and started toward Rahl, having a heavy expression on his face.

"I saw the attackers," he started, "and they are kin to Chaos."

Greg nodded, and motioned for Zeltess to follow. Soon they all sat at the table, Zeltess beside Greg as he looked at Rahl. He sighed as he started recalling the events he had seen as he gazed through Zel's mind, looking at her with an smiled before looking back. Perhaps he should explain how he found out....he did after all wake them from their private time. It was the least honor he could do.

"A few minutes ago I gazed into Zel's mind to discover what harmed her soul," he looked down, "I saw all the pain and suffering she witnessed, and I'm just now making sense of it all."

For a long moment, his mind recalled every image, every experience he had gathered from Zeltess when he joined her mind. His mind had instintivly started to put things in order, and he looked back at Rahl as he began once more.

"I believe it started with these beings...distracting every commander and crew in Zel's fleet with...horrible and terrible images. As you can imagine, everyone has something deep in their soul that could very well shock them, if they saw something they believed real."

Greg looked to Zel once more, taking her hand into his as he saw a certian expression on her reptilian face, "Strong enough was this force of Chaos that these beings cought the fleet by surpise. The Commanders that overcame this evil were lucky enough to fire off a few rounds, but many who didn't were instantly obliterated. I saw a massacre, and I saw pain. For every person that died, they made those that survive watch the horror."

Just thinking about it made Greg want to shed a tear, but he showed to expression of it. "Many ships, many people were massacred in that battle, many more killed in the honorable resistance that followed. If not for the valiant sacrifice of many a ships warriors, Zeltess and those left would not be living right now."

He sighed, "But it was after these thoughts that the Chaos Kin exposed itself, I trying to find out its true form, its face. I soon found out the horrible truth. It reached out through many lightyears seperating it from me, its power so overwhelming that it choked me, it reached its tendrals inside my heart, my mind, and my soul."

He shook his head, looking down. He had cold chills just thinking about it. "I saw the beins face, but I cannot describe it. Its too horrorable. Nothing before has reached out and harmed me like that thing did...."

Richard sighed. Not another one of these deals. He drummed his fingers on the wooden table top for a moment while he thought. This wasn't the first time that he has encountered something like this. His entire people on the planet were safe from such a being, well at least mentally and spiritually.

He finally looked up at Greg. "I see. Whatever it was displayed a wonderful example of Wizard's First Rule. This is going to be complicated indeed. Good thing all ships here are crewed by my people."

He looked from Greg to Zeltess. "Are you willing to go back to your home? You will be escorted by us of course and two other Super Star Destroyers. I would like to investigate this matter further if that is alright with you two."

This seemed so eerily familiar to him. He fought a war with a being similar to this only in a human form. The last encounter had not gone favorably for him and only thanks to divine intervention was he still alive and everything put back in place. The evil had been banished but there was no telling when it would resurface. If this was something similar then he was better prepared for it this time.

Zeltess nodded, "I would be most happy to do so." She looked to Greg, then back to Rahl, "Would we both be going?"

Greg chuckled, looking down at his pad. A serious face as he was reminded that Abh had free reign in Republic territory. He nodded to himself happily, this was going to be easy to deal with internally, especially since Novar needed the extra ships protecting it.

"Yes, you have free reign in our Space. Do whatever you wish." Greg looked up and smiled, "and I do believe its good to see your not affected by this, nor your people."

He chuckled, "I am much more than I appear, and for something like that to disturb me such is definitly harming."

He gaze shifted over to Greg. "Yes ambassador, I knew as soon as you boarded my ship that you were different. I have met your kind before and am quite familiar with your pressence. Unfortunatly I am very old and have seen my fare share of....well you get my meaning. It's hard to frighten me anymore. Only thing would frighten me is an evil that is far older and more powerful than I."

He still had the report from Star Forces in his trouser pocket. He focused his gaze to take in both of them. "I have word that the forces stationed at your system are to arrive in three days. Until that time, it will just be the three SSDs and whatever forces you still posses. Supplies will also arrive with the convoy."

Richard looked over to the General. "Prepare to move. I want the battleship completely underneath us and I want all tractor beams focused on it to keep her steady. Give the coordinates to the other two ships. Set course for the Anagonia homeworld."

The General saluted and left the room. Within a few minutes, all ships engaged their hyperdrive engines and were on their way.

What many would have seen exiting hyperspace was a planet of extradinary beauty. Novar was its name, given by the many people whom settled it two centuries back. It had two moons orbiting its bright shape, one lush in vegitation and supportive of life. The other, dead in the void looking much like Luna. A very noticable Star Yard could be seen orbiting Novar, even from high orbit. It had many ships docked to it, and its yard was filled with many ships being repaired.

It was noticable that the Orbital Defenses had noticed the Star Destroyers, but instantly looked away noticing something the Commanders didn't. Everyone seemed on edge here, every ship had a turret pointing at the new arrivals every now and then. Eventually, it would calm down.

Greg looked out the window, noticing Novar. "Its beautiful, glad to see nothing she's alright...."

He sighed, looking at his pad as he stood. It beeped several times as he gazed at it, many reports and questions wnating to make sure they were who they said they were. Most were from Confederate ships, which was suprising. It seemed that even in these times, two brethren can become one once more without even saying it.

"Everyones uneasy for some reason," Greg commented as he looked over many a report, Zeltess standing behind him and gazing at the screen.

Richard nodded as sensors kept going off with the warning of weapons locking on to the ship and then quieting down. "It is to be expected. We are three large unknown vessels to them and they are naturally cautious after an incident such as the one they have gone through."

Richard looked back to the two. "Please inform them of our intentions and contact your government as well. Let them know that this is the first of many generous actions towards your nation. Let them know that we intend to form a strong bond and helping is a step to forging that bond. You're more diplomatic than I. I'm sure you know how to word it just right."

He then looked back at his commanders in the room. This was going to be an interesting expedition. There was no telling what they would find.

Greg had just finished pressing the screen many times, looking up satisfyingly. "Done, done, and done."

He looked towards the planet. He could see many Battleships looming, each roughly one kilometer long. They had just been comissioned not too long ago. The new Pocket Battleships were short in number, about four or so, and were severly limited in their capabilities currently. But that didn't stop the Battleships from heading towards the Abh/Anagonian Diplomatic Fleet. Their weapons were not armed, however, and they refrained from charging any shields.

Greg could tell immedietly that something was wrong here. Either the Battleships suspected something or they were playing games. Obviously, looking quickly to check, they were certified ships. So they must have seen something....

With a shocked expressed he looked out the window, and put his pad flately towards where the Battleships were. The screen on the pad zoomed in, and showed information. They were targeting something, and the pad AI figured out it wasn't the Star Destroyers.

Richard was aware of the approaching ships as well. He watched Greg's face as his emotions played out. "What is it Ambassador Paladin?"

He turned around to his Commanders. "I want scanners on at full. Let's see what we can see." All three SSDs powereed scanners to full searching for anything in space. Any anamonaly that would give them a sign of what the Anagonia ships were searching for.

Greg's face went from curiosity to horror as he looked back at Lord Rahl.

"Get DOWN!"

Space was lit up by intense fusion and microwave beams, pulses, and the like, all passing by without harm. A few would have undoubtably skid the surface of the Star Destroyers, broken Battleship and the Heavy Cruiser. However, the Abh/Anagonian fleet was not their target. They had seen something that Greg hadn't cought on to. Behind the fleet was a massive ship, almost as big as an Eclipse class, looming in space.

However, the bombardment of the beams and pulses had weakened the unknwon ship, and almosty instantly an unending volly of torpedoes flew by the Abh/Anagonian fleet. Minutes later they were to explode with a massive flash, Nuclear Torpedoes.

The image of the massive ship had suddenly dissappeared, and was left with the figure of a dark ship about twice the size as a normal Star Destroyer. It abruptly exploded.

By now the Battleships were looming above and around the Abh/Anagonian fleet, their weapons no longer targeting anything in particular. Greg's pad beeped, and he looked down. He sighed, and nodded as a replay of the battle was quickly shown.

"Well, that was quite a welcome...."

Reports came in that there were no more unidentified ships in the area. Richard looked back over at Greg. "Well you certainly know how to roll out the red carpet. I wasnt expecting a ten gun salute. Is there anything else I should be expecting?"

The explosions had rocked Kahlan from her slumber. Ever worried about husband, she quickly slid her white dress over her head and flipped her hair out. She opened the door and quickly rushed out to find Richard.

"I had nothing to do with it," Greg said with an expression varifying his comment.

He looked out through the windows, and wondered why the hell they didn't choose to warn the ships first. He shook his head and sighed, looking at Zeltess. She had an equal expression of worry on her face, but the two gazing into each other had quickly calmed their emotions down.

Greg smiled at Zeltess then looked to Rahl, "I don't know whats going on here, but that was NOT procedure."

Zeltess nodded, Greg and her both bowing their heads in honor of Kahlan entering, then quickly both coming together, shoulder to arm, gazing at the pads screen.

Richard smiled as he took in Kahlan in his arms. "I have to be here for New Years then."

He focused his attention on the couple. "I imagine we should get started. I believe we should start sending out patrols all along the sector. We have a few days until our ships arrive but I believe we can do some short term reconnasaince. What are some key areas that need to be secured first?"

Greg sighed, so much had just gone on his brain was feeling out of it. But he did manage to grab his pad and type in the neseccary. He sighed as he looked back to Rahl, a tired expression on his face. He hadn't had sleep in many hours.

"I believe the entire Nova Kretani solar system, the one were in right now. Eight planets in all. And the entire sector, which has about five planetary systems within it. Thats it."

He whipped his hand over his head, he really was tired. He gazed at Zeltess, and she had the same tired expression, but failed to show it physcally. But she gave a wink, and he smiled. From here Command could take care of things, but Greg wanted to make sure Rahl was up for it.

Richard nodded and smiled the entire time Greg went through his asessment. "All will be taken care of. Ambassador, you like you've been to the Abyss and back. Why don't you and Zeltess take a room in the private sector of the ship and get some sleep. We shall take care of securing the system."

Kahlan held Richard's waist. "Go ahead. It's been a long trip and you two have been through alot. Enough of an emotional toil to ware down even the fiercest warrior."

Greg nodded, and he looked a Zeltess with interest, she gazing back with equal ambition. Only those tuned into relationships could possibly realize what these mysterious transitions of gazes were, and the two came close together and started towards the long hall-way, stopping to bow before Lord Rahl and Kahlan with the deepest of respects.

"Thank you," they both said in unison.

Then they were off.

Private Quarters

Greg had pulled off his armor, and the shirt underneath. He looked towards Zeltess, whom had taken everything off. They both sighed in unison, and gently fell onto the bed. Tired both were, gazing into each other eyes as they grasped the covers. and pulled it over them both, and turned on their sides facing each other.

"Its been a long time since we were like this," Greg said, almost whispering.

"Yea......perhaps we should make it last?"

They both grinned, and before Greg could move Zeltess had already grabbed him and forced him against her in a loving and deadly embrace.

Richard and Kahlan both smiled as they watched the couple leave. Both had knowing looks on their faces as Kahlan slowly glided her hand up to touch Richard's chest while Richard's hand slid down to her lower back. They looked into each others eyes. "Well I suppose we should give them some time."

Richard turned to his commanders. "I want the other two SSDs to take the outter rim. One ship stationed at the eight planet. I want way points with the second ship stationed at the fourth planet. We will be the anchor here at homeworld. I want droid fighters launched to scout forward and report in every ten minutes. I want the moons explored as well. You have fourty-eight hours to complete the first phase of this mission. Once completed we shall move on to the next system. By that time we shall have the reinforcements that were requested at the conferences. Once we leave this system, Republic forces will take control and continue their patrols with the aid of a few of our own. All ships prepare to move out."

The two SSDs began their mission by both jumping to the furthest planet in the system. One ship launched all droid fighters and began its survey of the area. Once deemed secure enough, the second ship jumped to the fourth planet and did the similar thing.

The covers were on the floor, and the entire bed looked like it had been attacked by bears. Nothing was torn completely, just claw marks that gripped deeply the bed itself. What had transpired before would become very viewable to those who were assigned to fix up these beds in the morning. It had been a very loud, and very pleasureable session. But that was behind them.

Greg and Zeltess were tired, and they both looked at each other passionatly, and quickly kissed as such. They seperated just a few inches, looking at each other, bothing smiling.

"I suppose we could sleep, or get up." Greg grinned, "A shower?"

"I'm quite tired, perhaps a quick nap?"

Greg nodded, "Alright."

They both lied there, holding each other tight. Eyes closing, breathing easing. For the first time in a long while, they had spent quality time together. Hopefully this would last, for Greg sensed he perhaps didn't have much time.

Patrol Fleet Alpha, en route to the Nova Kretani Solar System

Captain Hok had sent a distress signal out just a few minutes earlier. His small task fleet had been attacked by an unknown raiding party, and almost destroyed. On his Battlecruisers bridge, sparks flew from broken circuts, and many a man lay injured or dying form injuries. Despretly, he grabbed the microphone, and pressed a button to send out a distress message...

This is Captain Hok of the ABC Agaroth. Our fleet has come under severe attack and our sensors are offline. We have no idea where we are. Our weapons are malfunctioning, and our life support is failing. I don't know how much longer we can hold on, I can fee-

Richard was on the bridge with his wife when the report came in. The SSD was tracking every message coming in and out for anything useful. Richard's boots thudded loudly as he reached the comm officer. "I want that traced!"

The officer worked the panel furiously tracking the origin. "I got it Lord Rahl. Origin is from the outer rim of the third planetary system."

Lord Rahl squared his shoulders. "Inform Republic vessels to stanby and keep this area secure. We shall go out ahead and find the lost ship."

The message was sent and Richard looked at his engine officer. "Jump!"

The SSD screamed out of the system and made its way towards the tracked source of transmission.

Melkos Unchanos was a being of pure darkness. His soul thrived from the pain of others, his life depended on the deaths of thousands of beings. He had no intention but to kill, but to drink and gulge on the blood of the innocent. Oh how sweet innocent blood tasted, his currupt soul so tingled with delight everytime.

Melkos had been observing the situation within a particular Nation, and had eventually decided that it was time to place his hand there. He needed the extra pain, the extra suffering, to start his revenge against someone that could nly be called his nemesis. He didn't mind this preperation, he enjoyed every scream of pain, every dying moan. It could be said that it brought him to a state of ecstasy, if he could physically feel such anymore.

Two red eyes gazed from the darkness of a hood as hands of bone wrapped around a itand placed it back, revealing a darkened skull of putrid decay. It would seem that many a dark substance was dripping from the top, and through the skulls eye sockets, every concievable place anything could come out of. The most disturbing part for anyone would be seeing the jaw move, and the substance oozing out as it did so.

They have fallen for my trap? Melkos had a voice of pure darkness, not even concievable as normal. Deep spectral screams could only describe its intensity.

"Yes my Dark Lord," responded a servant near-by.

Good, his jaw moved left to right, a freakish manuvure considering nothing supported it. Have them know our presence.....I want to feeeeed.

"Of course my Lord."

Location of Battlecruiser Distress Call

A massive dark shape hovered in the distance from a Anagonian Battlecruiser, badly broken up and of no hope of survival. It looked like a ship of eternity, tenticals sweeping about from its broken form. A derelict ship turned into a Dreadnought, its guns having no bearing on which way it would look. Constant eruptions of some kind of explosions occured throughout its hull, but thsi was immedietly followed by nothing less than bolts of particles that shot out into space.

It would have seemed like a fearful sight to the weak-minded. But not all was as it seemed. Sometimes the impossible was truly impossible, and this very well could be part of the trap.
The Humankind Abh

Richard's ship arrived at the scene about a half hour later. The scene was grisly indeed. Debris was everywhere and they weren't picking up any signs of life.

"Send out ten droid fighters. Search the area for any life pods. If they find any, have them brought back to the ship."

Ten fighters launched from the hangar and headed to the wrecked ship while the SSD maintained its distance. There was no telling what would happen if they got too close. Their greates fear was a breach in the core and causing a massive explosion that would foil any rescue operation.

Minutes passed slowly by as the fighters conducted their scans for life.

"Lord Rahl! We have a few survivors."

Richard looked to his comm officer. "Give me a readout of the structural integrity of the ship. I want to know if this thing is going to blow right underneath us."

The scans began looking at all important hulls of the ship and the engine room. All appeared stable at the moment. "She is holding stable at the moment sir but there is no telling how long it will last."

Richard sighed. "Alright bring us in. Launch another ten fighters and three tugs. We'll have to haul this one back."

The ship began its approach while launching other vessels to aid. Richard could feel something that didn't quite add up but merely dismissed it as the presence of the aggressor still lingering. Still, it left him with an uneasy feeling.

A stream of red substances came out of Melkos's dark skill as his eyes glared at the image portrayed before him. More food was near, and he needed to hear their screams of terror, he needed to feed on their fear! An unholy hiss came from within him as he forced his skeletal finger forward, and commanded the Darkness to attack. He would have his blood, he would have his pain, he would have his suffering.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

The huge ship came closer and closer to the broken Battlecruiser, small bits of dark objects shooting from the derelict. A huge shockwave came forth and obliterated the ship, and an arm of particle bolts stretched out and seemingly consumed the ship.

Was this real? How? There seemed to be a disturbance in the way all this was portrayed. Something was moving! It was a fake! Hundreds of ships came forth from a seemingly invisible ship. They all aimed towards the expitionary fleet, and fired what looked like projectile rounds...

"BAGS!!" Richard shouted as he saw the darkness rolling towards them. He had sensed the presence but had become to comfortable in this age of advanced technology to trust his own inner feelings that had never betrayed him all those milleniums before.

"Launch the remaing droid fighters. All forward batteries fire!!" Swarms of fighters fell against the attacking ships. Richard had personally modified these a few years back. They were specifcally for strategic attacks when they weren't engaging other fighters. They would lock on to energy sources such as shield generators, weapons systems, and engine vents and bombard them continuously. The SSD opened fire as well as shields were set to full power. A mix of intense laser, ion, and torpedo fire poured into the attacking legions.

Richard strode over to his communications officer. "I want SSD Glory here at once. Have it recall all fighers and jump here immediatly!"

General Meiffert looked at Richard. "Lord Rahl, what should we do about that dark cloud?"

"Leave it! Our priority is the physical hundreds of ships bearing down on us. If it becomes a problem. . . then I shall deal with it personally." Richard gritted his teeth and clenched his fist. A slight tremor went out through the bridge and small black lightning sparks ignited from his clenched fist.

By now the skeletal being known as Melkos Unchanos was consumed by a darkness that flowed over his being, that seeped through every opening like smoke. It was the anticipation of the event, it was the yearning for the blood. His hunger for their pain and suffering grew and grew, becoming so intense he shook. He could literally see now....

But something else came into his mind, and he immedietly sat back in his unholy throne. Red eyes glaring as the dark smoke retreated and dissapated slowly. Something disturbed the Dark Lord, and his servents knew.

"My Lord" asked a servant, more concerned for her life, "what bothers thy power?"

I have sensed the beginnings of a power. His red eyes glared at the servant, Call back the fighters. Leave me.

Bowing the servant left the small chamber, leaving the Dark Lord to his ponderings. His skeletal fingers tapped at one end of the arm of the Unholy Throne, the other providing support as his skull leaned on it. A spectral sigh came from the Melkos. He somehow knew this signature energy. It wasn't like the last. Not like the Jedi's. Rather, something very different.

The red eyes seemed to close from within the skulls sockets, and Melkos concentrated on the origion. Forcing with all his power through many a mental blockade, pounding and pounding to get through. He needed to know who this was. Anything resulting in pain would just be fuel, and he would feed. Melkos didn't care, all he cared for was identifying this being.

Red eyes shined from the depths of the skulls eye sockets once more, and looked stright forward towards the darkness that fell before them. It was not the normal stare, it was something more. He was reaching out, and he would not be refused the knowledge that lay hidden beyond.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

The fighters and ships had immedietly stopped in their tracks, and without hesistation, went back into the cloud of darkness behind them. Many of them had been destroyed, a hundred or so being obliterated as they retreated. It wasn't a natural military tactic, not ment for anyone to follow them. They were just obeying the Dark Lord, for it was their duty.

It seemed that with the presense of another power, there had become known the curiosity of the Darkness. But this would no doubt be short lived. Once everything was known, there would be no need to be cautious any longer.

Richard was shocked to see the sudden retreat of the fighters. They had lost quite a few himself and was preparing to move the SSD forward for support. "Tell all fighters to hold their positions! What's the ETA of the other ship?"

"Lord Rahl, ETA is at fifteen minutes."

"Very well. I want all fighters to form a defensive line in front of . . ." Richard was cut off suddenly as he felt the presence of something powerful looking over the area. His golden cape lifted in the air with no wind at all to move it.

Richard moved his hand to his sword, powerful in its own self, and let the anger build within him. The combination of his own power and that of the sword's magnified Richard's power even more. He sent his own will out to meet this new foe head on. He searched the darkness and space around the area. Show yourself.

Oblivion. It was such a nice thing. Your past was kept to yourself, yet everyone else around you forgot you ever existed. Your past wants sometimes ran ooff, leaving you to only one thing. It was a comforting feeling, only wanting the pain and suffering of others. Melkos had forgotten completely of the other things that made him a Dark Lord. Yet, somehow, their dormancy ended when he heard the response from the keeper of the other power. His competitive spirit thrived once more at the thought of battle.

Many Eons had past of him only wanting to kill, to drink the blood of others. He had lost his Warrior side so long ago, yet somehow now it stood within him once more. His skeletal jaw seemed to twist itself somewhat as his spirit came to be once more, he now yearned for battle. Oh how long had it been, only feeling the craving to feed! This was good indeed, for someone to awaken another side of him.

Melkos Unchanos stood, a dark cape twisted around him as he started to move forward, then stretched into what seemed to be infinity. One arm reached out towards the Oblivion beyond, reaching out to grasp this other, to go to it. He would have his fight, nothing could stop him. He would show himself as worthy, not letting the others call down.

His red eyes glared brightly as he called to the other.

Open your mind and allow me through! I will come before you, and feed upon your soul!

Richard sensed the force coming out towards him even before it tried to enter his mind. It was an ancient evil that he had faced once before. A cult had once worshipped such a being and he was forced to make a pact with them to save his wife. Thankfully they had been wiped out in the last great war.

Since that time, Richard had spent his time banished from all existance. That war had destroyed his land, his people, and claimed the life of his wife. He was the only one that lived and spent what seemed like eternity conversing with Kahlan's spirit. In his place of solitude, he sat with the ages learning all there was to learn about power and controlling it. The Creator and the Spirits had saved him. They had saved him for a day when his people would walk again and he would be reunited with his wife. To him was given power beyond any mortal.

Richard greeted this new force with blinding light that was the power of life and creation. He forced the Dark Lord out of his mind and into the darkness of space.

There he greeted him with a metaphysical form of his body. He stood there with his sword tip pointing to the ground and his golden cape hanging loose at his shoulders.

You are to leave this place at once. Take your minions and go. These people are free and have no need of you.

Melkos Unchanos stopped in his tracks, he sensed that this one could easily take him on. That wasn't good, considering he wasn't as strong as he used to be. His red eyes glared at the ghostly image of the warrior, and he sighed, sending gastly amounts of spectral smoke everywhere. He wasn't the type to take chances, and he had split the Galactic Republic for a reason.

Come to me, put down your sword. We must talk...

Hopefully the warrior wasn't too stubborn to hear a plea in his voice. His feeding was only his way of keeping alive, however, if all went according to plan he wouldn't need to feed anymore....but that was a lengthy process at best.

Richard sensed its hesitancy and sheathed his sword. His encounters with such beings were not typically his favorite and he hardly ever had the responsibility of others that were near him at those times. This could complicate things. He knew how such darkness worked since he was visited by them frequently during his ages of banishment. None were worse than his father always mocking him every second. The same man that he had killed years before that final war and ascended the throne.

Richard stood out there with his arms crossed. I have put my sword away. If you have something to say then speak now. We are both out in the open now and on nuetral ground. What is it that you have to say?

Melkos hissed with satisfaction, perhaps his plans would go forward after all? He would have to gain his trust, first. Not allow him to suspect anything. Melkos wanted to be off his thirst for feeding, and if anyone could help he sensed this warrior could.

Good, good, Melkos laughed in a low spectral voice, neutral ground indeed.

Telling him who he was could be a start, perhaps even some of the truth.

I am the Leader of the Confederacy of Independent Systems, and I have come formed such a Confederacy because of a power gap in the Republic. I have no interest in a war with you, not yet. I have only interest in assuring that I remain constant for as long as possible.

He hissed underneath his breath, Don't mistake me for a fool, I would kill you if I had the chance. But there is something else that bothers me, elsewhere. I have only my dreams of an Empire, and you have dreams of peace. Should we not agree on the same interest of survival?

Richard's anger was beginning to build. He knew creatures like this and knew that they could never be trusted. Richard's sword was no longer even a weapon in this form. His true power still lay within him and could be unleashed within a single moment. With a mere thought he could banish this Dark Lord back to his ship and renew the fight.

Richard was curious though. He wanted to learn more and judge his new enemy. What is it that you truly want? Do not think for a second that I will allow you to continue on this way. Yes I want peace but not only peace for myself and the Empire.

He paused for a moment. And do not think that the Abh Empire will not also look your way as well. It to is an Empire and will throw its military might against if you continue down this course. You have a few systems under your control. Be satisfied with that and go about your way. You have attacked us and others without cause. I am no fool and can see past this. If you want to be left alone then I suggest you be gone from this system and never return.

A light appeared in Richard's hand. It began to grow and stretch as it reached height past his own. The light solidified as he brought his other hand to grip the other end. In his hand appeared a spear of pure light and energy. Unlike the illusionary sword, this spear was quite real.

Melkor Unchanos had to walk back to his throne, he had to sit. This meeting was seeping his energy from his very being, he had to find something to substain himself, or find a way out of this cursed form. He saw how powerful this warrior was, and if he could be used to help Melkos free himself from this bondage...

I want to be free, nothing more. If you assist me in this task, then I will leave you alone, and shall the rest of my brethren.

It was riskey, especially seeing as how this warrior had lost his patience. But he had to, he had to free himself, he had to free the rest. Terror in this form could not be achieved rightly, especially with killing everyone and not having anything to rule.

I have evry desire to ensure my existance, and I will not hesitate to continue to feed to survive.

His eyes glew brighter, the throne shaking as his spectral voice rose in intensity/. But I will not be confronted by a greater evil, and loose all I have gained! You know how this is, you have been through it, I can feel it!

He stood from his throne, I want to come back! I want to fight! I want my life back!

Greg's expression as he slept was that of being disturbed. Something very near was causing him distress, and he roled violently in his sleep. Give me some of your blood. You have pure blood. Allow me before you, and I will take care of the rest.

Yes, this was working out too well, he would be free, and then he would obliterate everything in his way. Melkos had almost achieved the rightful deception. Now, all he had to do was gain that blood, somehow.
The Humankind Abh
02-11-2005, 18:02
Richard shook his head. I cannot give you my blood in this form since it does not exist. If you standby, I will have a fighter deliver a phial of my blood.

With that Richard's manifested form disappeared. He was back in his body on the ship and slumped into the chair on the bridge. He looked to the general. "I need your knife."

Without hesitating, the general unsheathed his knife and handed it hilt first to Richard. Richard grabbed the hilt with the ornate letter "R" on the pommel. He reached into one of his pouches containing sand for casting magical spells and brought out black sand. He dropped a few grains in his plam which were consumed by light. The light dimmed and a glass phial replaced the sand.

Richard dragged the blade of the knife across his palm and then clenched his fist so the blood would flow into the phial. He let enough blood flow so it would fill the bottom. He popped a cork on and handed both the knife and phial back to the general. "Take this blood and give it to one of the droid fighter and have it delivered to the dark cloud."

The general saluted and left immediatly. Richard looked over to Cara. "Take control Cara. I need some rest. Wake me if there is an emergency."

"Yes Lord Rahl."

Richard got up on his feet shakily and walked back to his private chambers. His feet visually dragged while he walked. He entered the room and much to his pleasant surprise, found Kahlan laying in bed asleep much as she once was when he left her the first time. He stomped off his boots and took his shirt off. He pulled her close to him and wrapped the thick furs around them. The feel of her skin always made him smile and in no time, he was fast asleep.

Melkos laughed evily as he raised the flask to his maw, and drank it. The blood gushing into the darkness that was his throat. He threw it down, hearing it break, and laughed in a screatching voice of pure darkness. He stood, he could feel himself becoming new again, he could feel the chains breaking! His eyes glew brighter and brighter, how wonderous it felt to be free!

Then, it suddenly struck him, something twisted in his soul. He gasped, a spectral gasp that could be heard through time itself. He groaned.

Whats going on- then he fell to his knees.

His skeletal face started to brighten, and his red eyes went out. He screamed in pain. He held his skull, and then everything went white, then dark. The dark cloud seemed to be sucked into a central point. After a few minutes, the shape of the derelict ship was shown. It was no matter, for it, too, seemed to be sucked into itself. Then, without warning, after a large explosion, it was gone.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

Greg suddenly sat up in bed, a wave of death had just flowed over him. He gasped, another wave, his body shook. Life, his mind comprehended the feeling instantly. Greg was confused, what just happened? He looked over to Zeltess, smiled and leaned down to give her a little kiss on her snout. He sat back up and grabbed his clothes, dressing as he stood and walking out of the room.

Cara looked on in shock as the ship exploded. "Did Lord Rahl do that?" She looked over to the General who also happened to be her lover. Meiffert shrugged. "I don't know Mistress but I imagine that he had something to do with it. Lord Rahl is the magic against magic afterall."

Cara nodded her agreement knowing this to be true. The Mord-Sith hated anything to do with magic. Ironically she had a special quality of her own that was possessed by all Mord-Sith.
--------------------------------------

Richard looked into Kahlan's eyes while she was laying on top of him. Their chest pressed together while he ran his fingers through her long brown hair. A smile spread on his face but quickly faded after remembering his last encounter.

Kahlan looked at him with concern. "What's wrong Richard?"

"I'm growing tired of all this fighting. We have beend doing this for centuries uncounted. I just want to go back to D'Hara and spend time with you while walking through out gardens. How long has it been since we've known peace?"

Kahlan smiled as she lay her head on his bare chest. "I know dear. We have never had an easy life and have always been in the middle of a struggle. I'm just happy that I can be with you now. Don't worry. We'll have our time together again."

Richard smiled and leaned up to kiss the top of her head. "How about we take a vacation one day? To some exotic planet with beautiful scenary and wildlife."

Kahlan closed her eyes. "How about we just go home to see our own people and to our own bed where we can be left in peace?"

Richard had no argument for that.

Greg Paladin had walked around the ship for quite some time, looking around and asking, just being plain friendly. He hadn't really learnt much, just basic talk that eventually died out with the person needing to get back to duties. Now, however, he was bored. Having nothing to do and no where to be, and Zeltess being asleep like a rock, he felt the need to just wonder some more. With a sigh he entered a random door, and found his way into a huge room.

Was this the bridge? Or was this a spar room?

It really could have been either, but there wasn't much in electronics here. He saw a person in the center of the room with a couple of other people. With a shurg, he started towards them.

The room that Greg walked into suddenly changed from a large metalic room to something with a fare away scenary. The holographic projectory turned the room into a distant battlefield. Wind blown grassy plains took up the hardened floor as a loud commanding voice took control of the room.

"LISTEN UP!! WE ARE GOING TO DO THIS MANUEVER AGAIN AND AGAIN UNTIL WE GET IT RIGHT. THE LEFT AND RIGHT WEDGES ARE TO MOVE IN UNISON AND I WANT THE TURNS TO BE PERFECT. LET'S DO IT AGAIN."

Fifty men per wedge formed up with the left one closest to Greg was headed by the commander. The two wedges began their steady march at an invisible enemy as the floor thundered with their marching steps. The two wedges were spread extremely far a part which is not a wise manuever for an outnumbered force. That is where the second part came in. With the edges engaged the points changed from the forward to the heads that faced each other. The wedges began a march towards each other where they met in the rear of an enemy formation and began to surge back to their start.

"ALRIGHT THAT'S GOOD ENOUGH!! TAKE A BREAK AND WE WILL GO OVER THE HAMMER AND ANVIL TACTIC!"

"Impressive," commented Greg as he watched.

However, this wasn't the place for him. They were doing military exercises, and for all he knew he could screw it up for them. He chuckled, knowing all too well the frustrations of troop movements. He slowly exited, but abruptly hit a closed door. He growled, and hit it once. It opened, and he walked out.

He hadn't taken three steps before he saw another one of those rooms. His curiosity got the best of him, and so he walked in...

The next room was much the same but exactly the opposite. It was a shooting gallery with targeting holographic enemies.

They were using standard marine weaponry with the rifles of the infantry using incenary rounds. They were blanks though. The holograms would register the hits and would disappear. Groups of soldiers were hidden behind bunkers for protection to simulate urban warfare. The hologram also depicted a burning city and artilary fire in the distance.

Greg grinned, he couldn't resist. He slowly snuck over and grabbed one of the weapons, looking for a good place to keep out of sight. With a grunt he layed down, Finding a place to where it would look like a bunker was firing. Slowly he aimed for the holograms, and started to fire at each one.

Oh how he enjoyed this, his Marine days weren't over! Perhaps he could do this all day, and them not finding out. He could stop, he just kept firing!

The sargeant noticed the ambassador enjoying himself and smiled. Well might as well get him into the action with the rest of the crew and work as a team so he can see what it's like.

"YOU! RECRUIT! MOVE YOUR ASS AND FALL IN WITH THE REST!!"

Greg jumped up instinctively, and saluted in Anagonian fashion. He resonded with a well-heard, "YES SIR", immedietly falling in with a small squad and firing at targets. Greg couldn't help what he did, the commanding voice made it seem as if he was in the Marines again. But as soon as he realized what had happened, he grinned. He might as well keep going for as long as possible.

His eyes gazed left and right, head not moving. He noticed that none of the soldiers looked at him. This was good, he didn't want any attention. Greg smirked, and watched their aiming carefully. Everytime they had something in their sights, he'd aim for their target and fire.

He chuckled everytime he took a kill.

The sargeant knew who he was but also knew he wouldn't get hurt. "Here, you forgot your bio armor." He tossed the armor and waited for Greg to put it on.

He looked out over the bunker as the battlefield began to take shape. Several enemy turrets formed up as iron bunkers took the corner of buildings. He looked down to Greg and handed him two mock thermo detonators. "I want you to destroy that bunker there on the right while Moore here attacks the one on the left. Throw these grenades in their to blow it. Wait until we lay down some covery fire and get their attention. Do you understand?"
Anagonia
04-11-2005, 05:39
Greg put on the armor, and saluted. "Yes sir, I understand."

He loved this, it was like the good ol' days. But he stood at the ready, and looked at his target, then to Moore. He sighed, he hadn't been in a training sim in a long while, and he didn't know if this was one that could hurt you. He hoped it was, for some odd reason.

With a grin he checked his weapon, instinct again. He didn't know what it was, but it sure shot fine.

The sargeant waited until his remaining men were in position. "COVERY FIRE!"

The men opened fire on the bunkers as the Sergeant nodded his head for the two flankers to move out.

Moore shot out heading for the bunker on the left. There was debris out in the middle of the battlezone with flaming cars and crumbled buildings.

Greg put the thermol on his side belt, and when he heard the order to move, he did. Running at what seemed like unimaginable speeds, he had burst after burst of straight shot manuvers. He really wasn't concentrating on what he was doing, his instinct was taking over. It looked like a Jedi was moving out there, in all seriousness, but only an experienced individual could tell the small bursts from actual running.

He jumped over a burning car, and went around some debries as he neared the bunker. It wouldn't be long...then he saw it. What seemed like a huge bolt of energy coming from a cannon. Instinctively he reached for his side, where a specific lightsaber would be. However, finding he had left it behind when he donned the suit, his combat abilities took over.

Rolling quickly to the left, and going into a crouch followed by a jump over another burning wreck, Greg managed to escape the blast, even though in reality it wasn't real. His eyes cought the bunker and he jumped forward, not touching the ground for what seemed like forever. The long distance between him and the bunker was suddenly gone when he stopped, and he rolled to the side to reach the bunker. His grabbed the detonator, and flung it at the Bunker.

Greg turned, and immedietly jumped an inhuman height away from the bunker, landing a short distance away.

Two flashes of light went off simultaneously as Moore completed his attack as well. The lights went out and the simulation ended.

Cheers and whistles went up from the other end. The practice had been a complete success with no loss of life.

"Well done ambassador. You make a great marine."
Anagonia
04-11-2005, 17:15
Greg was a bit suprised to hear "ambassador", but nevertheless nodded and smiled. He was breathing somewhat heavily, but that didn't hamper him from saluting. He chuckled to himself afterward, he got so into that. He needed it, really. It wasn't like he could sit around all day and not do anything, luckily he found this to release all that built up stress.

With a satisfied sigh he took off his armor and placed his previous suit back on, making sure to place his lightsaber on his belt this time. He didn't want a repeat of earlier. Looking back, he did wondewr if anyone noticed his manuvers. Some of them were influenced by the use of the Force, but not so much as to attain itself noticable. He shook his head, only someone seeing such before, or being able to notice it, would reconigze it instantly.

Afterwards, Greg walked over to the Sergeant, extending his hand for a shake.

"Greg Paladin, Anagonian Ambassador. Honor to practice with your men today."

Greg smiled, ending the shake. "Glad to hear it Sergeant Pulmy, glad to have helped out. WOuld have thought I'd mess things up, but apparently not."

He chuckled under his breath, thinking about what to say next. It was a good opprotunity to have a chat, but the Sergeant might be pretty busy. Nevertheless, Greg thought of something to say.

"So, you do constant training, or is this for anything special?"
The Humankind Abh
04-11-2005, 18:49
Plumly smiled. "We are the advanced infantry of the First Phial that follows Lord Rahl when he is on board this ship. We do train a lot but that is what it means to have a standing army within an empire. We train at this level and in the old ways where our planet still rages war with sword, spear, ax, and bow."

Greg tilted his head, "So....swords? Do you know how to sword fight?"

He asked only because he hadn;t fought with his lightsaber in quite a while. It would be interesting to see how well someone else could handle against him. Of course he wouldn't use a lightsaber without the other persons permission, but that was a different matter.

"I'm just asking, seeing as how many armies don't."
The Humankind Abh
04-11-2005, 19:14
Plumly nodded. "Members of the First Phial are the direct body guards of Lord Rahl are able to use all types of weapons. You may have saw when you arrived that many contained a variety of weapons."

A smile spread on his face. "If you want to meet someone that is a master when it comes to sword fighting, then talk to Lord Rahl. You will not find a better swordsman."

A feeling of reunion had befalled Greg Paladin, a sudden shock really. He saw images of some being, a white skeletal face, and robes. Suddenly, he had a vision.

The White skeletal being in robes stood firmly with robes upon his being. Behind him was a temple, a magnificent temple, one that Greg felt very fond of. The sky was bright with glory, two moons bright in the distance. A loud horn could be heard, so loud that it felt as if Greg's ears were going to burst. Just as the horn became silent, the moons were replaced by a beautiful sunrise. As Greg watched, many other figures formed a line beside the Skeletal being. He looked at them, none of them he could see clearly, but he felt a deep bond to each one. There was one distinct thing coming from all of them, he couldn't count the number, but he felt something unique about them.

All of a sudden, the skeletal being started to talk. As he did, his face seemed to come slap-close to Greg's face. It startled Greg, but nevertheless he listened. A silent, spectral voice, almost a whisper, came from the skeletal being.

Your Brothers and Sisters shall unite. The Jedi will form, and the Temple will be placed on the Homeworld.

WIthout warning, the vision ended, and Greg was left standing there. Quickly, he regained his posture, and looked at the Sergeant. The vision was too strong for him to stay here, his soul was uneasy. He had to leave to talk with Zeltess, or someone. It was too strong.

Greg smiled and nodded to the Sergeant, "Thank you for the information. Nice meeting you, but I have to go now. Somethings bothering me."

He extended his hand for a shake, hopefully shaking, then walked off. He had too much to think about, and needed someone to talk to who understood these things. Perhaps Zeltess was up, or perhaps someone else was near that could assist.

The sergeant shook his hand and bid him a good day.

Richard had regained his strength and decided it was time for him to return to his duties. He and Kahlan both got dressed and headed out of their rooms to return to the bridge. He clasped his cape around his shoulders and slid the sheath over his shoulder to let the sword rest at his hip.

Kahlan slid her white dress over and let it rest at her shoulders. Richard tied the leather vambraces on and put his boots on. They both left the room together with an arm around each other's hips.

A few armed guards were outside the door to escort them back to the bridge. They had a ways to go though from their private quarters.

Greg was walking down a long hallway, thinking about what to do. He wanted to go talk to Zeltess, but knowing her and how...extensive she was earlier, she would be out for some time. So, he just walked, not knowing what to do. He sighed, there wasn't much else he had on his mind expect that sudden vision. What disturbed him the most was that skeletal figure. It wasn't everyday you'd see one of those.

With another sigh he looked up, and saw someone walking his way. He didn't notice it at the time, but it was four people, Lord Rahl, his wife, and two guards. Perhaps he could have a small chat with Lord Rahl, without being disrespectful. He waved, and greeted.

"Lord Rahl, nice to see you. Is it Alright if we have a chat?"
The Humankind Abh
04-11-2005, 20:29
Richard smiled seeing Greg. "Of course." Richard told the guards to continue on to the bridge and inform Cara that they will be there shortly. The guards saluted and walked off.

Richard could sense that something had unnerved the man. "What can I do for you ambassador Paladin? Would you like to sit down somewhere?"
Anagonia
05-11-2005, 00:39
Greg watched as the guards went away, and he felt some relief as he looked to Rahl. It wasn't often that he had visions, and especially those of this magnitude. Hopefully, by speaking to Rahl he could get this off his shoulders.

Greg shook his head in reply to Rahl's question, "I don't want to impede on your duties. We can walk and talk if you like. I just need to tell you something, seeing as you are an understanding person."

05-11-2005, 00:54

Kahlan and Richard slowed their pace so it would take them longer to reach the bridge.

Greg nodded, and begun.

"I've just had a vision, of a massive temple. Many people there, many people I felt bonded to, and one specific being. He was like a skeletal king, and his eyes were blue, his skeletal frame pure white. It was wierd, because I felt like I knew him It was. I felt like I knew each of them."

Greg sighed, "It was beautiful....but in the end, he came close to me, face to face, and told me something."
The Humankind Abh
05-11-2005, 01:47
Richard nodded his head in understanding. "It seems my blood had more of an effect on him then even he could have imagined. It seems you have had either a prophecy or Melkos has visited you in your dreams."

He looked over at him. "What did he tell you?"
Anagonia
05-11-2005, 01:52
Greg was confused by what Rahl was saying, he wanted to ask, but left it for another time. He continued.

"He told me that the my Brothers and Sisters would unite, that the Jedi will form, and the Temple will be placed on the Homeworld. I have no idea whats he's talking about, and what are you talking about?"
The Humankind Abh
05-11-2005, 02:08
Richard smiled. "While you and Zeltess were resting, we had a mild situation on board. A battleship of your people's was ambushed and we rushed to the scene to find a new foe. There we turned back several ships. Apparently we found someone responsible for taking several of your planets under their control. I met Melkos out their head on to keep him from doing any more damage. In an agreement for him to leave your people alone, he requested some of my blood since it was pure. It seems pure blood had an effect on him and has made him pure as well."

Greg was about to say something when his com beeped, and he grasped it and took it from his pocket. A ship was coming, a big one. Looked like a Battleship. He looked to Rahl, after reading a bit of information.

"My leader seems to be coming here on very important business. Somethings up."

Greg gave a worried look.
The Humankind Abh
05-11-2005, 02:43

Cara was at the helm asking for identification while the General had his men preparing for a visitor. He had the men from the First Phial down in the bay to accept anyone in the same manner as Greg was.

A scout ship was launched from the battleship, no id given, but the flag of the Galactic Republic was clearly there. This was indeed serious, or just stupid. Either way, the scout ship hurried to the hanger bay. No escort, no nothing. Just a fast ship, heading for the hanger, with a very important person on board.
The Humankind Abh
05-11-2005, 02:52
Richard looked to Greg. "Let's hurry down to the hangar. That's where they will come aboard."

The soldiers down there waited for the ship to dock.

05-11-2005, 02:56
The scout landed, and immedietly the hatch opened. Someone was in a hurry. A dark figure, in a dark suit, came out. Walking at a fast pace as his boots suddenly hit the floor, making a loud foot-fall. There was something odd about this individual, and he looked special by the way a dark cape wrapped around him, from the shoulders down.

Two marines in Mandalorian armor came down, looking about as they gazed at the troops below. They nodded to each other, then went back into the scout.

"I am sorry for my intrusion," came a modified voice from the helmet, "but seeing as my Ambassador is here I supposed I was welcome."
The Humankind Abh
05-11-2005, 03:01

05-11-2005, 03:04
"Drakomis," came the reply, "Drakomis Nokomis Reign. Leader of the Galactic Republic of Anagonia."

He sighed, "Sorry for the excessiveness, I'm just in a hurry. Something is disturbing me, and discussing with you would be key."
The Humankind Abh
05-11-2005, 03:10
Richard nodded. "Come, follow me. There is a conference room just a little ways up here."

Richard lead him back to where his meeting with Greg had occured.

05-11-2005, 03:17
Drakomis looked to Greg for a moment, and spoke before he left. "David Zeus will join your ranks, Jedi. I am training him. Be ready."

With that, he walked off. Leaving Greg in total suprise. David Zeus was the supposed son of Drakomis, but no one knew anything beyond that. This was an actual revelation for Greg, however. He had never spoken to Drakomis before. So, with a sigh, he shook his head, trying to release his suprise.

---------------------------------------------------------

Drakomis went and sat down in a chair, his dark helmet looking directly at Richard.

"We have a problem."
The Humankind Abh
05-11-2005, 03:23
Richard sat down as well across from him while Kahlan sat down at Richard's right hand side. "Alright. What is your problem?"
Anagonia
05-11-2005, 07:06
"Its not just my problem, its yours too."

From within his dark cape, he reached and took a folder. This was highly unusual for an Anagonian, and could only mean that there was a risk factor involved in the documents contained within. He stood, and walked over to Lord Rahl, and placed the folder near him. With a respectful nod, he started back to his seat, looking back at him.

"That folder contains information regarding something of intense secrecy. I cannot speak of it, for I fear someone may be listening."
The Humankind Abh
06-11-2005, 05:30
Richard opened the folder and began to read. He sighed as his eyes roamed over the pages. Page after page gave him detailed information about what was going to happen.

He set the folder down and looked up. "It's as I feared along with Dusanyu. I'm afraid some of the Empire's allies are too forgiving and too readily to accept past enemies into the fold."

Richard drummed his fingers on the desk while he was lost in thought. "I will deal with this matter personally myself. The Empire will act alone in this for now. I will step up the forces that are assigned here and will begin fortifying the region."

"Is there anything else you can show me?"
Anagonia
06-11-2005, 20:00
Drakomis grasped a another foler from within his cape, it was being saved to see how Richard would react. He did so positively. So, it would be only proper to show him what was going to happen. Slowly, he stood and walked over to Richard again, and handed him the folder, and went back to sit down.

"That is our plans. You will see what I mean."
The Humankind Abh
06-11-2005, 21:37
Richard picked up the folder and began skimming through it as well. He sighed as he looked over to his wife. "I really wish I hadn't brought you with me at the moment."

Kahlan's face was covered in concern as Richard looked back to Drakomis. "How long will you need?"
Anagonia
06-11-2005, 21:53

He sat back, his suit glaring the light above. He had much time on his hands, he just hopes this visit was worth it.
The Humankind Abh
07-11-2005, 03:52
Richard leaned forward as he slid the folder back to him. "D'Hara will welcome you with open arms if you should desire. I am going to need a few ordinates from you if that is acceptable."

He leaned over to his wife and whispered something in her ear. She nodded and then stood up and left the room.

07-11-2005, 07:04
He nodded, perhaps he could be trusted. Drakomis reached up to his helmet, and started to do something, but had a second thought. No, it would be unwise to expose what he was too soon, not this early. Besides, he had to concentrate on the matters at hand. Surely even as the helmet was starting to irritate him...

Drakomis grabed the folder, leaving the helmet alone. He placed it back inside the dark cape. He had to of had something to store it inside, or pocket it. But that was no matter.

"I thank you with deep honor. Our largest ships, the two classes included in the last folder you had, are now being prepped for such actions. However, I have no idea how many it would take for four planets, if you understand what I mean."
The Humankind Abh
07-11-2005, 17:06
Richard nodded. "This is what the Empire does for allies. On a side note, I would recommend taking care of the outter 3 planets when you can so as to make management a little easier on us."
Anagonia
07-11-2005, 18:14
Drakomis had taken the hint, and nodded. He raised his wrist, and pressed something on it. A screen mvoed up from what seemed like a wrist pad. He pressed a few things, and immedietly the wrist pad beeped. He nodded again, looking back to Rahl.

"I believe those two super ships are crewing now. They should be departing anytime soon, and I requested transports to assist."
The Humankind Abh
07-11-2005, 18:19
Richard nodded. "I would lend several of our similar vessels but I am afraid that we are going to be needing them. If there is anything else that you require, please do not hesitate to ask."

Kahlan walked back into the room and sat down beside her husband. "The garrison force has arrived and HQ will send you request shortly."

He nodded. "Good."

09-11-2005, 00:51
"I believe there is," Drakomis tilted his head, "It may be too early....but I have recieved a request from a....friend. You may have met him. He wanted to know about Jedi in your Nation."

Drakomis shook his head, "I believe I can't get in touch with him. But I will certianly try to. However, I know someone else in this league of things that can perhaps assist you. She's a long time friend, and we allowed her sanctuary some decades back. She is a Jedi, though I'm not sure what class, and I do believe she could help."

Richard nodded. "Then we are at an agreement. Anything else?"

The arrived garrison began going to work. Engineering crews began setting up defensive platforms and stations while also preparing stations for the Star Forces crew.

Ships that were tractor beam capable began going to work on the asteroid belt preparing the system and the homeworld.

"I do have one last concern of mine. Your face seems familiar, I'm not sure why. How old are you?"

This wasn't a normal question, although occasional in some aspects. It only struck Drakomis that he looked similar to someone he knew many centuries back. That person he only met for a brief period, talked and the like, but if a human could live THAT long, it would be amazing.

Richard smiled and chuckled a little. "How old am I? Let's see...older than the Abh Empire or the Galactic Empire. Older than any race you can think of. I have sat at the head of the D'Haran throne for longer than I can remember or care to. Don't get me wrong, I love my people and do anything for them. My men in the army are immaculate and I take very good care of them and many have become very close personal friends."

He trailed off. "For a time though, that was not so and everyone I knew was in a sense dead. My wife, my friends, my entire people gone in a horrible war that in of itself is centuries old. I sat on a throne in a temple for milenia uncounted and have only been returned these past few years."

He looked back up with a smile. "How old am I? I don't even know what year it is."

"Oh...."

He shook his head, almost wanting to cry underneath the helmet. That was depressing.

"Older than three-hundred years?"

He didn't know what to say.

"Sorry."

Richard smiled. "It is quite alright. As you can see I have been brought back to this existance. "

He draped an arm around Kahlan's shoulders. "And my wife has been returned to me along with the rest of my Empire and the people that lived there. Now, every child is a joy and caused for major celebration. Marriage and raising children is something that is now sacred in the D'Haran Empire. And yes, I am far older than three hundred years."

"That's good, Glad to see verything turned out alright.........hmmmm....oldest one we have is A thousand and two hundred years old. Anywho."

He sat back, thinking on some things. Perhaps there was something else to mention besides the obvious incursion that was taking place by a certian someone.

"Anything else of interest....anything else.........why has your Nation been overlooked for Jedi?"

Richard drummed his fingers on the table. "It seems that the Abh are not well liked. There was talk of creating a sith temple inside the Empire under our protection. This was the idea of the previous Empress Ramaaj. It started with the offer of the Count Jinto and Princess Lafiel's son to be trained as a sith. His training was completed and received the name Darth Vicious after procurring the skill with two light sabers. Now he leans towards the Jedi with the help from Daniel Masaki. The Jedi and sith have been fighting each other for a long time now and have not had time to go an a recruitment spree. There have been those that offer the training for money and the Empire gladly passes on that. So there are those that could have had the talent but it remains unharvested while those two groups continue to fight."

Drakomis nodded, "Darth Vicious..........hmmmmm....."

He thought for a moment, thinking of pas Jedi and current.

"Well, we have a few notables of our own. But the one that stands out would be Greg right there," he pointed down the hallway in no particular direction, "He is one helluva Jedi. I don't know his past, but I'm pretty sure he could assist in anything."

Drakomis came silent, then spoke after a moment. "I know someone named David Zeus, a Komodren. He's in training."

He hid something, however. Perhaps about himself. Anyone could tell by his voice, even though altered, that there was something hidden.

Richard looked at the man. "And what about you? You seem to be something other than what I have been shown so far."

OOC:

Hmmmm....anyone can tell by now I've run out of ideas XD

IC:

"Oh, I'm nothing special. I keep one deep trait a secret, and mainly concentrate on my leadership. I hide my face because-"

He reached up, and did something to his helmet. Once more it hissed, but this time he took it off fully. A lizard-like head and snout revealed itself, and reptilian eyes gazed back at Rahl.

"-I'm Komodren, and a very unusual one at that"

Richard nodded. "So I see."

He leaned forward. "Then shall we begin laying out plans for the temple?"
Anagonia
14-11-2005, 00:15
Drakomis nodded, "I believe so, but there is one more thing. I have heard rumors of an old Temple of some sort hidden deep within a certian planet. Its lush and fertile, and our forces and colonial assets have yet to touch it."

He tilted his reptilian head, "What would one say to that?"
The Humankind Abh
14-11-2005, 00:24
Richard tilted his head. "Then I suggest you should look into it along with all your Jedi. If you need help then please inform me."

14-11-2005, 00:26
"Well, the problem with that is specifically I don't have enough Jedi...."

He gazed back at Richard, "Get my drift?"

14-11-2005, 00:32
Richard sighed. "Doron is going to be upset. He is supposed to be taking time off with his new wife." He shakes his head. "I will have Doron scrounge up all possible Jedi trainees he can find. They will then report back here."

He looked to Kahlan and sighed again. "I will stay as well until you find the Temple. How is that for a solution?"
Anagonia
14-11-2005, 00:37
Drakomis nodded, "Send my apologies, but thsi would be of great importance if.....WE were to find something of interest."

He looked down at his wrist pad, and pressed a few things. Slowly, he gazed back up.
The Humankind Abh
14-11-2005, 00:52
"Alright then. I will ask for deep scanning crews to locate this temple. Once we find it, I will bring in excavation crews to unearth it. The next part would be, shall we raise the temple or leave it down in the ground? We are going to need engineer crews and technical crews to begin establishing a computer mainframe to contac all Jedi."

He grabbed a piece of paper and passed it to Kahlan while giving her a kiss on the cheek. She smiled as she got up from her chair and left the room. "Is there anything else you think we would need?"
Anagonia
14-11-2005, 00:58
"We should be able to leave it in the ground, however we might need to raise it. I have no clue what type of temple it is, all I know is that its there. Might I add we have no clue whats down there, so that should be in memory."

He thought for a moment, grabbing his helmet and placing it back on his head.

"No, nothing else. How many engineer's you need?"
The Humankind Abh
14-11-2005, 01:12
Richard taped his chin with his index finger. "I'd say about forty for excavating, 20 for technical crew to begin designing computer systems, and another 30 for anything else I can't think of."

"Do you have that many?"
Anagonia
14-11-2005, 01:15
"We have some Marine Technicians on the Battleship, along with actual. All in all should be around One-hundred and fifty."

He nodded assuringly.

Richard crossed his arms. "If we may, I believe we have time to at least view the planet it is on."

Drakomis nodded, and grabbing something from within his cape and tossing it to Richard.

"Here, that should show the planet"

OOC: LOL ah more short posts. So evil.

IC:

Richard snatched up the paper and looked the planet over. "Not bad. I see excavation shouldn't be too much of a problem as long as it is not under a mountain." He chuckled slightly.

Kahlan walked back in. "HQ has been informed. AIA will begin looking for Doron though it shouldn't be hard to find him since he is off with Kanna at the Nation of Roses. I hear the little palace is quite nice. It shouldn't take long for him to scrounge up Jedi candidates."

15-11-2005, 04:16
"I believe I can have my......apprentice and a few of his crew to be at the planet. I already signaled him, so he should be on his way."

He looked away, then back. "Oh, there should be minor fleet there to ensure the safety of...the expadition, shall we say."

Without further word, he quickly pressed a few things on his wrist pad. It beeped two times afterwards, and he looked back up nodding. This was indeed going to be interesting. If Drakomis had his plan calculated right, David would soon be strong enough to take over his position. He had adopted David long ago, only realizing then after his potential. Hopefully it would be his destiny to take over Drakomis's leadership, for Drakomis never had a wife, and never had children of his own. It was his only choice.

Richard nodded. "The garrison forces assigned here shall oversee the protection of the expedition."

He stood up with his wife at his side. "I believe that will conclude everything until Doron arrives with a few prospects. A pleasure talking with you. I will see you again once everyone arrives."
