There are many different ethnical groups occupying the lands of the Federated Imperium. Largest ethnical groups are the Kvens (19%), Goths (16%), Tiberians (15%), Avalonians (17%), Agodals (16%) and the Kojiki (10%), while there are seven percents of various indigenous and immigrant populations. Most dominant, and ethnically and culturally similar, groups are the mostly blonde and white Kvens, Goths and Avalonians, who inhabit northern areas of the Federated Imperium. They have a long and proud history of culture and civilization, and generally members of these groups are the most cultured ones, expect for some people living in rural areas.
In the southern areas largest ethnic group are the Tiberians, along with some smaller groups, while in the east Agodals and Kojiki are prevalent. The south is generally less developed than north, and cultural differences are visible. In south, family members have more closer ties to each other, while in the north people tend to move away from their homes in search for work or better education, and southerners are also generally more religious and superstitious than their northern counterparts.
Eastern areas of the Federated Imperium are inhabited by the Slavic Agodals and Asiatic Kojiki are distinctively different from other areas of the Federated Imperium, due to some major cultural differences. The Agodal culture in some aspects is quite similar to the ones practiced by Kvens, Goths and Avalonians, but nomadic traditions and ways still lie on strong in the Agodal culture, and they're known as temperate, but brave and loyal people, while the Kojiki tend to hang on to their traditions and own cultural heritage, emphazising control over one's mind and ancient virtues.
All over Suur-Uusimaa, despite ethnicities, places of residence or religion, there is militarism in some degree, loyalty to one's superiors and strong work ethicts. prevalent in the culture. From school, citizens of Suur-Uusimaa are taught to be loyal to authorities, whether they are parents, teachers or the imperial government, and to work hard and loyally. Militarist influences exist all over the society, and this can be seen everywhere, from strict discipline in schools to authoritarian and strict leadership methods in factories. From childhood, citizens are taught the virtues of warfare, first through considerable emphasis on physical education in school, and later through survival, martial arts and weapons training classes, to prepare them for their service in the armed services of the Federated Imperium.

Suur-Uusimaa is a federative state with an oligarchic form of government, a Federated Imperium, where the power is vested by noble families and leaders and other officials chosen from amongst these nobles. The country is divided into six subdivisions, the Kvenish Commonwealth, Electorate of Gothia, Union of Tiberia, Avalonian Confederacy, Grand Duchy of Agodal and Kojiki Dominion. These semi-autonomous states maintain a certain degree of autonomity in internal issues, but are under the authority of the central administration. Leaders of these areas are normally the heads of the Great Houses controlling the area. In addition, there is an area known as the Imperial Province, which is under the direct administration of the ''Imperator'' and acts as the center of government for the Federated Imperium.

The head of the Federated Imperium is the ''Imperator'' or Emperor, who is responsible for heading the government and the military of Suur-Uusimaa. The ''Imperator'' is elected for life by heads of the six Great Houses who are the supreme forces in the politics of Suur-Uusimaa:House Kven of the Kvenish Commonwealth, House Steiner of the Electorate of Gothia, House Calderon of the Union of Tiberia, House Davion of the Avalonian Confederacy, House Romanov of the Grand Duchy of Agodai and House Kurita of the Kojiki Dominion, and usually is one of the heads of the great houses. Leader of each of the Great Houses is called ''Archon''. Current ''Imperator'' is Augustus Victor von Kven of the House Kven, which has held the seat of the ''Imperator'' for 80 years in row now.
When an ''Imperator'' dies, the House leaders gather to the Great Fortress of St. Victor in the Imperial Province to elect the new leader of the Federated Imperium. The election process usually lasts for several weeks, and during this period, a lot of intrigue and plotting between the Houses happens. Usually leader of the strongest House becomes the ''Imperator'', but usually the strenght isn't measured entirely in the House's military and economical strenght, but also in it's ability to conduct intrigue and plotting.
The leaders of the Great Houses, along with the House leader who is the ''Imperator'', are part of the Council of Six, which acts as the government of Suur-Uusimaa and assists the ''Imperator'' in his decision-making. It is also a way to assure that the ''Imperator'' does not act too dictatorially, but the actual power of the Council is greatly depended on it's members, and particularly the personality of the ''Imperator''. In addition, the ''Imperator'' appoints a Council of Advisors of experienced and trusted individuals from various fields of the society of Suur-Uusimaa to assist him in ruling the Federated Imperium.
