Background Designed as a replacement to the venerable M16A2, the M-32 is a copied and modified Doomingslandian M-27A1 rifle, captured during the Restore Sarzonia Task Force terror attacks. The M-32 is based on the XM8 design, and uses 40% compatible parts, making the switch over to this new weapon all the easier. It is made in a lightweight bullpup design to provide maximum accuracy in a smaller length weapon, and succeeds in providing excellent accuracy and reliability.

Operation The M-32 Quinn Assault Rifle is a gas operated 5.56 mm bullpup assault rifle with a synthetic stock. Like the XM8, the M-32 is capable of switching over to variants, such as the automatic rifle variant, which sports a 50 round drum magazine and heavy 25 inch barrel and bipod; the submachine gun/carbine variant, which uses a shorter, 16 inch barrel; or the marksman version, which uses a 25 inch precision barrel. Another version of the weapon, the M27 Designated Marksman Weapon, is chambered for the 7.62x51 mm NATO round and sports a 10x scope and 20 round magazine, making it an excellent platoon marksman weapons, or even a sniper weapon. The M-32 Personal Defence Weapon (PDW) has a shortened, 12 inch barrel, making for an extremely compact weapon, only 20 inches long, excellent for concealment. The base model is also available with iron sights only, but includes weaver rails for mounting a scope. All models have flash suppressor.

Other features Accessories for this weapon include bayonet, gun camera, laser sight, flashlight, night vision scope, sound suppressor (silencer), MasterKey under-barrel two round shotgun, and the XM320 40mm grenade launcher.

ooc: I wonder why you're still using 5.56mm rounds? I remember that assault rifle you made previously, which was in a much larger cartridge chambering (8.74mm). Didn't you say that 5.56mm couldn't penetrate Panteran armor? If it can't pierce body armor, then why still use it, unless you plan to sell this rifle to civilians or smaller countries.

I personally would use 7.62 x 51 mm or even a 6.5 x 48 mm in the ISA. But I can sell the 5.56 x 45 variant to other countries.

[OOC: Might it be possible to acquire production rights for these? (You're probably getting sick of me asking, eh?:p) I'm currently using the (X)M-8 and (X)M-29 as my two frontline weapons, and I think it's about time I upgraded. Your background on the weapon implies that it's a good M-8 replacement, and I'm hoping that whatever rifle design Kaukolastan digs up for the Directorate Security Force is going to make its way into the members' militaries. That way, I'll have completely replaced both the rifles in my military.]

OOC:Actualy, that's exactly what I had in mind when I was designing the M-27 (the rifle I based this on) like a year ago for my army. Back then I was using the XM-8 and XM-29 as my standard infantry weapons, so I made sure that the switch over to the new weapon would be as painless as possible for my logistics guys, so it'd probably work pretty well for you.

OOC:Well, the way the weapon's designed, you would basicly order all the weapons as the baseline weapon, then order the parts to convert them into whichever variants. Easier to manufacture, that way.

[OOC: All variants, if you please, Sarzonia. Usual NDA and non-resale policy is fine by us, and because I feel particularly lazy right now, no fancy IC order.]

The Democratic Imperium is currently attempting to standardize its military and cut down on obsolete and/or extraneous units. In keeping with this, we are phasing out one of the current rifle models utilized by our infantry, the M-8 design, and wish to acquire production rights for the M-32 (and all the components of its variants) to serve as its replacement. Payment of the necessary sum will be wired upon confirmation.
