CM Gun Rights Challenged

CMN News
Today, the anti-gun lobby scored a big hit against gun rights in Crazed Marines. A case, served in the 9th Circuit Court in Iwo Jima, relued that excessively large firearms defined as Anti-Tank Rifles (ATRs) were not arms, but rather military hardware. The plaintiff, Mrs. J. A. Blomie, filed suit against a one Mr. John T. Reigger after her husband was killed by the defendant's ATR. Like 20% of CM homes, Mr. Reigger owned a CM99 model Anti-Tank Rifle amd shot Mr. Blomie after he found the Plaintiff's husband inside his Suribachi home. When the police arrived, there was a pair of legs severed below the knees, a puddle of blood around ten feet in diameter, Mr. Reigger and his CM99a covered in blood, and a very messy wall with a rather large hole in it. Mrs. Blomie claims that the use of this against her husband was "cruel and unusual punishment to both the late Mr. Blomie and his family." This sparks a large debate in Crazed Marines about what is a gun and what isn't. The rights of gunowners are protected in Article 6 of the Constitution which reads Firearms and blade weapons are described as such arms allowed.

However, with the excesive power in ATRs, some feel that this qualifies as an artillery piece and not a firearm. The appeal on this case is expoected to hit the Supreme Court tomorrow.

Foxtrot News
Thousands of protesters gathered outside Parris Island today to either show support for Mr. Reigger or Mrs. Blomie. The protesters met at the Capital Building today where some elements began to clash. Some foreign protesters have come into the country just to see CM disarm. However, these protesters were in for a suprise when some of the Pro-Gun crowd (who outnumbered the anti-gun crowd five to one) drew a gun and began firing into the midst. Nobody was killed, but fifty protesters were wounded and the foreigners arreste on immigration charges. As the Police could not legally break the crowd up until they witnessed such acts, the shooters were never captured...probably much to the chagrin of the Police who are overwhelmingly pro-gun.

Teuful Hounden News
A new anti-gun suit has just been filed after the picture of a seven-year-old girl carrying an AK-47 in the Baghdad reqion of Iraq was seen over the news wire. Jane Fondue, 97, of Iwo Jima said that the ability for minors to own and carry firearms in public was criminally negligent ans is suing the State for "this outrage" said Fondue. Many feel the photo (http://jccc.afis.osd.mil/LBOX/full/1239109.jpg) is just a sign that parents are doing the right thing. It was not reported, however, that the girl's father took the picture. He claims he was just behind her as he was taking her to go shooting that afternoon and thought she looked cute in that picture. This is the second gun lawsuit in as many days and many feel that the rights of the Citizens are under attack by the extreme left in CM.

OOC: nobody gonna condemn me? nobody gonna comment on my internal affairs? Not one anti-gun person willing to condemn the shooting of the protesters? Maybe I'll have to go harder on that.

"NO MORE GUNS! NO MORE DEATH!" The Crowd chanted over and over again outside the Capital building. Crazed Marines, like all free countries had a liberal population (much to the dismay of 85% of the country) and most liberals were for Socialism and against gun ownership. About 90% of the country had grown tired with thee people. The government had, a few years earlier, declared tese people (who it had considered hippies) non-sentient by an overwhelming majority. Most of those people had been freed by the President who was against the act but was overruled by a 90% majority. And those people hadn't forgotten, they were in the crowd, yes, but were not protesting the President. It was election day in Crazed Marines.

Mike Kowalski, President of Crazed Marines until 10 November, was watching this from his office a block away. He put on his pistol and walked to the demonstration. Those who he had freed watched him and laid praises at his feet. He ddn't like it, but figured if you gave them the ability to be seen as humans instead of cattle and slaves, they ould do tis. He also noticed the lack of weed present at this demonstration. Maybe I helped them sober up... he thought. He took a podium that the domonstrators had set up. The crowd looked up in awe.

"Look at me as I stand here today. We are recovering from a major war, a Civil War, a lot of people being repressed, and I stand here to blame. We have bypassed our Constitution enough in my term, and its my fault. I did not start the war, but I did not prevent it either. I am to blame for more than a few human rights being violated, and I apoligise. However, we cannot take away from a man the right to protect what is him and his. I am asking you not as President, but as a man to drop this while we still have a country. Thank you." Mike looked odwn at the crowd who was in awe. A few catcalls came from this, but most were just stunned that a man like this could admit his faults and ask forgiveness while trying to save his country. Some dropped their signs and began to leave when one man shouted "WE LOVE YOU MIKE!" Kowalski looked up and some of the signs had reappeared with new slogans on it.

Save Crazed Marines!

Protect the Constitution!

If It ain't broke...

Guns don't kill people, burgulars kill themselves!

These new slogans came to serve the point that Crazed Marines was on its way to recovery. Mike Kowalski, not running for reelection after serving for twelve years, was ready to still lead...except for one thing. His wife was pregnant with their first and the time had come. Mike, instead of leading the crowd like he was used to doing so many times before, explained to the crowd what was happening and that he would have to leave. They were disappointed, but happy for the man. This would be a month for everyone in the country.

OOC: I figured halfway in that last post I might as well also turn this into a rebuilding thread for CM.

Mike Kowalski walked into the delivery room as the Judges walked into Court. They walked out at the same time. One was carrying a newborn son and daughter, the other to throw a case in the trash. A country was being reborn along with the first children to be delivered to a sitting President. The country was busy economically, more ATRs were sold in the day the court case was thrown than were in the past eight months and stocks in CMDC and Newbeau Rifle Corp soared, along with most other stocks and the high-tech industry. CM was on its way to recovery.

Mike was looking at his two children, and his wife. He was proud of both and glad he could say he was a man. His adopted children would help protect these two and his adopted san, Kaylan, andhad served in two wars already. His family definately was one to be proud of...now what should he name these two?
