Colony of Rolatia gains independence
Today, in the city of Redmofo, a nation celebrated as Rolatia was set free from British colony status. The small nation of Rolatia consists of a small coastal territory comprising of the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg. It is considered free as of now due to this being the first official election. The LibDem Socialists by far truimphed over over parties, with 20 representatives in the House of Democracy, current comprising of 35 representatives

Rolatia was formed when Britain invaded the area where Rolatia is now. The small powers were helpless to stop them, and the resulting land was named Rolatia, and used as a key land-base on the continent. When use was not found for it, it was gradually released from England's grip. It is now fully independent, with a decent military to boot.

Dr Edwards was sitting in his new office, thinking. He was now governor of Rolatia, a ridiculously over-crowded country of 900 million in the year 2039. He realised he would have to get land overseas. His mind though of several small targets, and thus he planned the invasions...

Rolatia Declares War on African Nation
The recently independent Rolatia has shocked the world today by announcing that they are now at war with the country of Sierra Leone. Dr Edwards stated in his speech "This is only the beginning. We must
liberate these small, poorly-governed countries and bring them to the glory of Rolatia. Also, we cannot live in current conditions - our small European lands are not enough for 900,000,000 peope frankly

Troops readied for action:
1st ATP Squad
1st MIP Squad

(OOC: this is the beginning of a decent amount of countries invaded in an effort to get a legitimate, recognised empire.)

Greetings from the Concordance of Czardas! We are pleased to welcome Rolatia to the international community. The Concordance wishes to open diplomatic or trade relations with Rolatia. However, a word of warning: Empire building is fine as long as you do not attempt to attack any of Czardas's allies. If you do, be warned that the consequences will be dire. And even if you choose to become an ally of the Concordance, that alliance will be terminated if we feel that your power threatens the security and freedom of your own citizens or ours.

Greetings,
We are comitted to not angering the higher-powered nations and alliances in the world, lest disaster become involved. However, the minor, un-aligned states will be liberated, but you have my guarantee I will not intentionally attack any alliances. However, if I do please inform me of my mistake and I will withdraw my troops immidetely
We are also very happy to open trade and diplomatic relations. A diplomat has been deployed to your territories in the hope we can keep at peace with each other

Foreign Minister Alhoun reads the message with approval. Someone, at least, can respond quickly. He immediately contacts Air Marshal Karlsen and informs him to prepare Terminal F of Krîaberg International Airport for an incoming Rolatian delegation for opening diplomatic relations. He also asks the air force commander for something else: transport planes. He smiles as he writes back to Rolatia.

Greetings from the Concordance!

For help with your transportation we can send you up to 300 SC-79 Skyhawk Transport Planes. Each one can hold up to 400 men, 25 vehicles of medium to large size, or 40 missile weapons and launchers. These will reach your nation within 6-8 hours.

OOC: Is 6-8 hours RL time?

IC:
Dr Edwards was delighted to see the news from Czardaian. He calculated he could send a large quantity of the HI platoon and probably useful portions of others. He sat down and composed a letter to the Czardaian government:

Greetigs
We thank the Czardaian government for their help in this matter. We will be using the Skyhawks carefully, but for different troop quantities as we are in the process of changing the military organistation. Thanks for the aeroplanes - they will be vital to get troops to Africa and other potential targets

OOC: Is 6-8 hours RL time?[ooc:] No, fluid time. That means it's whenever I can post that I'm landing them and turning them over to your command.

Oh, and by the way, my name is Czardas. "Czardaian" is just the adjective. :)

[ic:]

Three hundred planes take off from the military airfields outside Lac-Montagne Military Base in northern Czardas. They fly west and a little bit north towards Rolatia (at an angle of about 145°, which ought to give some idea of the position of Czardas in relation to Rolatia). Following the air currents, they continue along a trajectory that will lead them slightly north of their destination. Karlsen is relying on the wind to do the rest.

A few hours and time zones later, the planes are landing in Rolatian airfields. Karlsen officially contacts the head of Rolatia's military, informing him that the planes are under his command for the time being. Karlsen also mentions:

If Rolatia seeks to keep the planes, they can be officially purchased.
If not, they are to be returned to Czardas when their use is finished, with compensation for any damaged or missing planes (as the Air Marshal will determine).

OOC: Ah, gotcha
IC: Dr Edwards checked his listing one final time before making contact with the general on the ground. He announced "OK, I've got the arrangements. Mobilize 3HWS, 4HWS, 1HIS, 1MIS, 1MS and 3MS and send them to Sierra Leone. All on foreign aircraft except 1600 men of any squad, put them on our own planes and send them to Sierra Leone. Send 3HIS, 2MIS and 2MS to El Salvador with our remaining planes"
He sat back and sighed. They had just about managed to pack a massive amount of firepower onto the 300 planes with the help of 6 extra planes of their own. Now it was time to see what would happen

Rolatia Declares War on El Salvador!
Dr Edwards has announced today that Rolatia is now official at war with El Salvador. When asked for the reasons, Edwards stated he was bringing the country under the glorious Rolatian empire. He has started moving troops thanks to an unknown supplier of jet planes for transport, and there are troops going to El Salvador. There is also a sizeable amount going to recently conquered Sierra Leone

OOC: I'm just going to invade El Salvador, then I'm logging off for the night.

"Ah", though Dr Edwards, "nothing quite invogorates you like expanding your empire. Well, now there is the business of the planes." The government had to decide whether to buy or return the planes. Deciding to see its option, a letter was composed:
TO:Kari Alhou
'Greetings,
We here at Rolatia may be interested in buying the aircraft in the future. Please state the price per aircraft so we may consider our course of action.
Sincerely,
Dr J Edwards
Prime Minister of Rolatia'
Joseph sat back and sighed. He finally had time to take a break

Dr Edwards looked at the screen in pure joy just to confirm what he had just read onscreen. $223578.60 each? He immedatelly strated writing an email:
Kair Alhoun,
I have decided to buy up to 500 of the planes. I have wired 3683256198.72 generis to your account - please refund the difference if I can only buy less than 500
Dr J Edwards

Joseph smiled. $110 million was a smallish amoiunt now the economic depression was over. Speaking of which...
Rolatia Announces End of Depression
Rolatian government officials have today declared the end of the economic crisis that has struck Rolatia in recent months. After the economy practically imploded in July, and the generi becoming nearly 220 to the US dollar, Rolatians have recovered their monetary possessions. There was celebration at the news the economy was back to old levels and the generi down to just under 33 to the US$

"Dr Edwards! What brings you to my office at the moment?"
The reply came "We have a diplomatic situation with the nation on ViZion. They are watching our situation carefully, and if we attack any of their allies or their own territory..." Edwards moved his hand across his neck and made an appropiate noise. Rusard pondered this for a moment
"Well, the best course of action would be diplomacy. Open diplomatic relations with them and find out the territories of their allies so we don't attack by mistake"
"OK, I'll go and arrange the appropriate things now". With that, Edwards returned to his office. He wrote a letter to President Delain:

Your purchase of 500 Skyhawk transport aircraft has been noted, converted to N£2.5 billion. Two hundred more aircraft will arrive in your nation within 8 hours. Alhoun smiles approvingly. While N£2.64 billion may not be all too much to Rolatia, it can go into very important things in Czardas -- like funding the national defense budget. And, with the recent conflicts in nearby regions, that seems to him like a very good idea.

When the news of the aircraft order reached Dr Edwards, he was elated. The fact that the stock was not a problem was music to his ears, and the price was so brilliant that he decided he needed to keep Czardas as a supplier. He fired up his email program and began typing:
TO: Kari Alhoun, Czardaian Foreign Minister
Greetings,
We are highly satisfied with the aeroplanes we have bought. We would like to know whether these aircraft would be available to buy at any time, because there is a strong opportunity we will want to order more of these in the future.
Dr J Edwards
Prime Minister of Rolatia

As he sent the letter, he got back to work. He was deciding what would be the next target of his empire. One country caught his eye in particular. "Hmm...only 350,000 military-worthy men...lack of weapons...disarmanent in 2002...Perfect.". It was time to call in the Ministers of Intellegence, Foreign Affairs, Defence plus some high-ranking ground and air force personnel. It was war time.

Rolatia
Rolatia currently have a large part of their army in Sierra Leone, but it can not all be utilised due to peacekeeping reponisibilites. The forces that are deployable for the matter of war are:
*4HWS
*1HIS
*2HIS
*1MIS
*3MS
*5MS

This is a total force of:

54300 Medium Infantry
25000 Heavy Infantry
2750 Medics
2100 Tank Crew & Maintainance
600 Recon Troops
600 Light Tanks
200 Artillery Crew
150 Armoured Jeeps
100 Missile Crew & Maintainance
90 Heavy Tanks
60 Rocket Launchers

There are also other armanents that can be possibly flown in from Holland and Belgium quite easily

Liberia
Liberia is a very small country of around 4 million. Of those, there are about 300,000 who could called up to the military. However, the country is very poorly equipped due to disarmanent in Liberia after a long-running civil war inside the country. Also, at least quarter of a million people including 50,000 military men suffer from AIDS. These are only the 2010 figures for AIDS, so no-one has any idea how devastating the effects are now. International sanctions on seling diamonds and lumber to other nations are being slowly lifted, but the Liberian economy is already absolutely crippled. They are over $3B in debt. They have practically no communications, with a total of 11,000 telephones in the country, 10 radio stations and 1 television state. They have 1000 internet users. They are estimated to have 10,000 armed with AK-47s and about 20,000 with handguns, but they are old and decaying

After everyone in the meeting had read through the dossier on the country, Dr J Edwards announced "OK, so this country is a prime target. Any internation side effects?
"No," came the reply from Mr Rusard, Minister for Foreign Affairs. "Liberia is basically totally unoticed on an international level, and has no known allies.
"Then what are we waiting for? Nallis, send orders to the troops"
"Yes, sir"
As the remainader of the room left, Edwards smiled knowing that they would soon fix this African hellhole

Rolatian View - Day 1
ROLATIA DECLARES WAR ON LIBERIA
The hugely populated nation of Rolatia has today declared war on the tiny state of Liberia, a country to the east of the recently annexed Sierra Leone. The Prime Minister announced last night it was for the good of both countries - Liberia have very poor facilities and way of living, Rolatia have chronic overcrowding

The Rolatian army of about 80,000 men and various vehicles are advancing across the border as of current. A small specials unit squad from Van Luxemburg is en-route to join them soon after they cross the border. The Liberian army is esitmated to be around 25,000 men and some light vehicles...

The commanding general for the charge, Mr R Tanolir, was interrupted from his newspaper by an untrained medium-strength soldier (the least equipped and most numerous soldiers of the army). "Sir! The troops are ready to depart!" shouted the soldier

Tanolir sighed and put down his newspaper. "Tell them I am coming now.". As the messenger left, he wondered what may happen to close associates in this war...

Liberian View - Day 1
President Siar was not happy. He had been waken at 4:00 in the morning to be told that his small back-water nation had suffered a declaration of war by the 900-million population Rolatia. He called his chief of military for a 6:00 meeting. At 6:00, they shook hands and sat down. Siar opened the talk. "So, what are we facing here?"
The response came "A army in excess of 70,000 in plain infantry alone is set to march into Liberia. They have a strong technological base compared toi ours, they have much better weapons and armour, and some border communities are surrendering already. We can deploy up to 30,000 men, 7,500 with AK-47s and the rest with knifes. Oh, and we may not be able to get the force together enough to cause any damage.
"So we're basically f***ed?"
"Our only hope is to get an allied force of around 20,000 men. It'll be difficult though, as most countries are not going to help us"
"So we are f***ed.". He sighed and dismissed the chief while he though about what to do.
(OOC: I'm not hoping for a serious ally for Liberia. However, if you are willing to roleplay a small, poorly-armed detatchment of around 5000 from a nearby country such as Burkina Faso or Ivory Coast, it'll add a nice element)
Van Luxemburg
01-10-2005, 18:08
(OOC: Okay, I'll land at Monrovia port, then it's up to you what to do with the Liberians )

The RIB's closed in on Liberia, aiming for Monrovia. on board ws the 1st korps, still preparing the weapons they had "shopped" from the magazine at Toulon, Van Luxemburg. the strange thing was, that almost no-one had chosen the JK1, standard Van Luxemburgian rifle. the absolute top were the G3KA4 and the FN F2000, closely followed by the Diemaco C7 and HK G36.

"Port ETA 3 minutes!" one of the Sailors aboard the RIB mentioned
"Roger!"

Now the Port of Monrovia began to close in quickly, showing the decayed facilities, not used since the last ship arrived, until now.

The RIB's moved into the port quickly, and unloaded the men at a Pier which lmost collapsed under the weight of the Marines. the Marines stormed forward, surprising anyone who could be on the quays.
"Van Luxemburgian Marines! You're Surrounded! throw down your weapons and lift your hands up!" the shout could be heared throughout the Port, to ensure anyone would give up.

Rolatian Day 2
Riding in an armoured SOV, the general looked around the peaceful area he was travelling through along with 120 trained recon soldiers, 280 medium soldiers and 40 medicsin 40 SOVs. It had been agreed the group would separate to avoid being massed attacked. Tanolir sighed - the surroundings made him long for his wife...

*BOOM!* A shell rocked the tank. In shock, Robert Tanolir cried out "What the f*** was that?" Several more followed, and it evidenced they were flak shells. However, one extremely good hit meant that a shell exploded underneath. The vehicles was blown up, and Robert flung about 5 metres away
"Chief, are you OK?" cried the driver of one of the front jeeps through a radio
"I'm fine, just deal with the source of those!
About a hundred men charged at the source. The source of the bombs were 10 old artillery guns - they had killed 68 men (including 7 medics) and injured another 14 (2 medics), and destroyed 11 jeeps altogether. The soldiers operating there killed another 3 men with their knifes before finally being all shot dead.
Robert was in a terrible state. Three of his fingers had been sliced off by shrapnel and he had a huge cut down his left leg, but he was alive, and the medics could dress his wounds.
As he was being moved to a undamaged vehicle, a voice came in on his radio. "This is the Van Luxemburg squad leader, do you copy?"
"I copy, squad leader. What happened in Monrovia?"
"Really weird. There were no troops in the town, only a few thousand civilians who co-operated fine"
It was evident what had happened. Monrovia has been abandoned and the leader has fled. It was going to be easier than some expected.
"General?"
"Oh, sorry. Occupy the town - we are sending in 5000 medium infantry to assist you. Good luck"
With that the general put down the radio, ordered a subordinate to give out the designated orders and simply rested.

There had been four such attacks in the day, with 34 destroyed vehicles, 115 medium infantry (17 medics) and 4 heavy infantry killed in total. Plain enemy weapons also killed 23 medium (5 medics) and 1 heavy infantry
DAY 1 LOSSES:

116 Medium Infantry
22 Medics
5 Heavy Infantry
34 SOV Infantry Combat Vehicles

Liberian Day 2
President Sian and his subordinates had fled.
After the news that the marines were about to arrive, they simply ran away in the few armoured jeeps the country. They were now giving orders to their men from a hidden bunker on the border around the area where Sierra Leone, Liberia and Guinea met. They had power over the following troops at the end of the day:

4500 men with AK-47s
10000 men with knifes
100 Tanks

Siam was now in panic. What would happen if he were caught? What would happen if his generals turned traitor? He decided he must use what he had. He ordered a pre-emptive strike early in the morning in the camp of 10,000 infantry and (altough this bit was unknown to him) 50 rocket launchers a few miles north of Monrovia with 50 tanks and 3000 knife wieldiers. An early attack would produce effective results in his mind. All he could do now is wait...
The forces had lost 113 men with AK-47s and 403 with knifes to Rolatian guns along with all 40 of their artillery

OOC: OK, I shall bear this in mind for my next invasion - it shall be MUCH more complex than the last two
IC: "Hmm, another email", though Dr Edwards. He got up and walked down the hall to the officer of Mr Rusard, Minister of Foreign Affairs. He knocked and was quickly invited in.

Greetings,
We do not wish to war with you or your allies, and prefer a peaceful situation with open diplomacy. Therefore, we are flying over one of our diplomats in a Be-23 Archimede's Lever Heavy Transport Aircraft. We would also like to request a list of your allies, so we do not invade by mistake your allied territories

Prime Minister of Rolatia

Hello Dr. Edwards. We will forward on to you our full list of allies in Africa, as well as those along the Mediterranean Sea shortly. A few of them include Jarridia in Spain, Dr. Twist in parts of Italy, and Comdidia in Somalia.

As per your diplomats coming to ViZion, we would have appreciated a little bit more of a warning. However, since you're still nowhere near our borders yet, we will let this one slide. The reason for an earlier warning is that we are currently in a state of war, and if your plane was nearing our borders, we would have demanded your plane change course. Should it have come over our border, you would have been shot down. It would be for your nations own safety that you let us know more ahead of time.

We look forward to meeting with your diplomats soon, and we will send on the information shortly.

Thank you,

President Delain

Greetings,
We are highly satisfied with the aeroplanes we have bought. We would like to know whether these aircraft would be available to buy at any time, because there is a strong opportunity we will want to order more of these in the future.
Dr J Edwards
Prime Minister of Rolatia
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
These aircraft are available to buy at any point. However, shipments of over 300 planes will be difficult to manage if successive shipments within a short period of time are called for. We are pleased to hear that our aircraft are doing their job and wish you luck in your present endeavors.
Rolatian Day 3
After the injury of the commanding general the day before, a new general had been flown in and was accompanied by 20 attack helicopters. The general, by the name of Locrosk, ordered the helicopters to stay in. The war looked to be over by the next couple of days at this rate. However, what he did not know is that a fearsome early strike this morning had killed around 1,500 medium infantry.
Locrosk was not traveling on the front line. Instead he happily relaxed in a helicopter. He was observing the infantry platoon's assault on a known stronghold of troops in the east. 15 of the helis and the HWS were busy bombarding the area to the north-west of the country. Suddenly, the low-flying helicopter swerved quickly to avoid a tank shell, spilling Locrosk's cup of tea. "What is the meaning of this?!? Get up higher!" remarked the livid general. From there, he watched the battle unfold...
The forces of Rolatia quickly charged the Liberians from the front. While this occured, a small detachment of medium infantry circled around the back and broke through the fence. The ringleaders were surrounded, and arrested. after 4269 men with AK-47s were killed and another 104 laid down arms. Another 3610 men with pocket knifes were killed and 2140 surrended. This came at the expense of 453 medium infantry and 6 armoured jeeps however. Meanwhile a suspected government hidieout area was being bombed by rocket launchers and flak shells in the north-west. 31 men wielding AK-47s were killed while walking in the area.
TOTAL DAILY LOSSES:
*2164 Medium Infantry
*6 Armoured Jeeps
Liberia Day 3
The Liberian president was ripping his hair out in frustration. His masterplan of a sneak attack on Rolatians hadd been rather unsuccessful. The men had quickly got their guns and counter-attacked. 4823 Liberians died (the attacking amount at been stepped up 2000 in return for an absence of tanks) to just 1711 Rolatians. The massacre of 7879 men dead and 2244 captured along with 93 tanks destroyed at the Freliber camp in the east. Plus the shelling of the area had lead to the death of chief of Sociality Gregory Pendor (who admittely was a strong fascist, and was elected at no fault of the president) meant that Liberia would have to surrender its lands. He wrote a letter to be sent to Rolatia at 6AM the next day, called together his remaining government and army and drove off for Guinea
Rolatia Day 4
LIBERIAN GOVERNMENT SURRENDERS ALL LAND TO ROLATIA
In a stunning move last night, former president of Liberia Taylen Sian has released a letter to the Rolatian government saying he hands over all lands to Rolatia. In the letter, Sian said "We hope you will run the country well...please do not leave it in its current state".
As he sat in bed in a Rolatian infirmary, sipping a glass of water, Tanolir smiled. He may have suffered physcial damage to his body, and some may have died, but the Rolatian forces were mostly alive and the empire of Rolatia was expanded after the '4 Day War of 2039'. The remainder of the day for Rolatian troop was spent in peace keeping operations. 4 medium infantry perished, but overall the atmosphere was calm and co-operative in Liberia
TOTAL WAR LOSSES:
* 2284 Medium Infantry
* 22 Medics
* 5 Heavy Infantry
* 40 SOV Infantry Combat Vehicles
(OOC: I'm going to go with a less role-playing approach and more strategic approach for this invasion due to a) time constrains and b) the fact that I can't be too bothered with lots of roleplaying. Oh, and if you don't know where Hastings is, buy a map of England or a history book :P)
ROLATIAN TROOPS LAND IN HASTINGS; ARE MET WITH MIXED RESPONSE
Today a reasonably large Rolatian army flew into Hastings on the south coast of England. They were met with mixed response. Some were quite hostile (generally the rich), due to the bad track record of the Rolatian economy. However, many were happy to see the Rolatians, knowing that the Rolatians brought excellent civil rights and political freedom. The British government has been becoming quite hostile to the Rolatians due to the governing Conservative Party moving more right-wing and more authotarian. The final straw for Rolatia was when the British army invaded the non-British part of Ireland and when the Conservatives proposed conscription to the House of Commons. Rolatia have yet to declare full war but it is expected within hours.
ROLATIAN TROOPS:
50000 Heavy Infantry
75000 Light Infantry
9000 Various Staff
1500 SOV-06 Combat Vehicles
900 Panzerkampfwaggen XII [Pzkmpf. XII] Wolverine Light Tank
300 Challenger 2 Battle Tanks
400 81MM mortars
50 227MM MLRS
