Ok, this should've been done a long time ago, I'm not entirely sure that it hasn't already, however, I feel this is a vital, and maybe an integral part of RPing.
This thread is completely OOC, there are no IC comments to be made.
Essentially, you post an RP here, and other people rate it. I have created a set of simple rules to follow, in order to ensure that no-one is offended, yet the general all-round quality of the RPing on NS improves.
Rules of the RP Rating Thread
Firstly, to have an RP rated, you must either post the actual RP itself (No longer than 3 paragraphs, as we don't want the thread clogged up with page-long RPs, which would make the ratings themselves impossible to read.), or a link, directly to the post or thread you want rated. If you simply post a link to a thread, it will be assumed that you want the overall quality of your RPing in that RP rated, and not a single post.
However, posting a single post and/or a link to a single post is asking for the grammar, spelling, description, godmodding/techwanking and various other offenses (or lack thereof) to be rated.
Secondly, RPs that are not posted here are not to be rated!.
A very simple rule. We should, and will respect other people's disdain for constructive criticism, and therefore, if someone has not posted an RP here, it is not to be rated. That simple. However, if you do post an RP here, you're fair game. Don't go crying to the mods, or anyone else, if the reviewer/rater calls you a godmodder, techwanker, numberwanker, or pathetic excuse for an RPer. Any so-called 'insults' relating to RP, as in calling someone a godmodder, for instance, must be substantiated with proof.
Thirdly, this is not a thread to flame, troll, or spam, and you will follow all forum rules. Calling someone a godmodder is fair game, calling someone a half-witted excuse for a retarded monkey is not. As per normal, no racial slurs, religious slurs, or any kind of comment not related directly to the RP in question will be reported.
Next, all RPs are not to be rated on some ridiculous "star rating", or percentage scale, which governs how good an RPer is. If you really feel the need for it, you can give a rating, however, this will have no bearing on the review whatsoever.
RPs are to be rated according to the following method. (I'm going to rate one of my own RPs, naturally, as rating someone elses' would violate my own rules)
Firstly, a link to the RP in question, that you are rating. This is to ensure you are rating the right RP, or, if no link was provided, simply link to the post in which the ratee in question posted the RP on this thread. For those of us who do not know how to obtain a single-post link, simply click on the post number in the upper-right corner of the post.

Secondly, an overall view of the RP, stating what your opinion about the RPer in question is, and whether the RP is good. After the overall view is complete, target major fallacies such as godmodding, major lack of description/grammar/spelling, and, near the end, pinpoint the more minor points the RPer may want to work on. Finally, wrap it up with a general, sweeping statement, again outlining your position and opinion on the RP.
Well, Hyperspatial Travel has his points, however, firstly, his conversations are far too short, and unrealistic for the war in question. If this was truly a war, longer conversations would be held, more than a simple five lines.
Furthermore, he's a little too arrogant, and his confidence in his technology, the parts which are pure description, and unthought/unspoken by any character, are unrealistic to say the least. "Near-instantaneous" FTL engines are even more ridiculous, and it would've been nice to see more description of the Admiral in detail, after all, he is the man who's commanding this fleet, and more personality, more detailed and rich, would make him a character easy to empathize with. The fleet has some minor description, although probably not enough to visualize well, which also needs some work. Lastly, a
However, the RP, although it is too short, has no immediately noticeable spelling or grammar flaws, and no numberwanking, godmodding, and only a small touch of techwank, in a sweeping comment about superior FTL, but, otherwise, a decidedly average RP.
If I had to rate this RP on a 1-5 scale, I would give it a 3.5.
Note: This is not a compulsory thing to do, nor is it recommended, but I understand many people feel better about being able to categorize things, or give them a number, so, for those people, feel free to add such a sentence onto your review. However, it should not interfere with the actual review of the review itself; if you're just going to post a number, don't post.
Furthermore, try and rate RPs that you yourself write. By this, I mean categories. Although you can rate any type of RP, many FT players find MT boring, and unexciting, and many MT players find FT wanky, stupid, and basically one big techwank. If you are going to RP in categories, or types of RP that you don't RP, try and keep the rating strictly subjective; only rate number of descriptive words, spelling, grammar, lack of godmodding, etc. If you feel you cannot be subjective, and fair, don't rate it.
Lastly, if other people rate your RPs, have the courtesy to return the favour; we all want to become better at RPing, and if someone helps you out, you really should help them out.
(Note: I will not be posting any RPs to rate in this post, as I haven't found my links yet, and the fact that I feel it would sour the 'flavor', so to speak, of the post.)
