The president of Desartha and The Grand Coalition, Eamon de Valera, announced today that Desartha and The Grand Coalition would be declaring war with Love and Esterel, Jey and Richard2008. His reasoning was that UN diplomats from Love and Esterel and Jey had harrassed Desarthan UN diplomats anout recent resolutions and proposals, sending multiple messages asking Desartha to vote for them.

President Valera said that the nations would be given a chance of peace if the payed a tribute to Desartha and the Grand Coalition. He asked for $10,000,000,000 for the Grand Coalition and $1,000,000,000 for Desartha alone or they would "meet the full fire and fury of our armed forces."

So.... that a good reason to send men to thier deaths...... ok.

In my experiance, money is never a good reason to declare and wage war. The amount of money that nations make yearly on NS is ungodly, and most nations will "blow their noses" on $10,000,000,000.

Under your terms I think 3 nations can scrounge up that much. I am sure tehy have friends.

While Jey, Love and esterel, and Richard 2008 were in association with one another on the Repeal and the Worldwide Media Act, the TGs you received on voting on the resolution were never done in conjuction between us. We went to great measures not to send any nation more then one Telegram when trying to reach quorum, but I was not aware of Love and esterel or Richard 2008's telegram campaigns when the repeal was At Vote. I applaud their assisstance in this matter and will not at all criticize them for not communicating with me about this. However, I will criticize you for all of this. You're being ridiculous. The type of "War" your talking about should only be declared if I posed as a militaristic threat to you, or threatened you with my military. Even if I offended your nation's political or moral beliefs (which I didnt, I'm using an example), that is no reason to ask for $10,000,000,000 or whatever amount of money your requesting. What we did was the equivalent of sending the same email about 6 times. I get that in my office from certain companies every day...and I'm president of Jey with the most advanced anti-spam filter known to Jevians.

Bottom line, your being foolish, and you wont receive a penny from Jey. I hope my colleagues agree.

The merciful Eamon de Valera, will agree to spare the pitiful nations of Jey and Richard2008, however Love and Esterel was asked kindly once not to send us advertisements about UN proposals, yet they did anyway. Our offer still stands. We expect an answer within 48 hours, the compensation money, or total war.

I see it as Desartha is obviously not caring about why he's going to war he's probably a spartan-like state trying to pick a fight to either a) go to war and bring back slaves for his economy or b) get enough money to buy slaves in order to continue normal social order in his country.

The Second Sebecean Democratic Imperium will stop Desartha, if he continues to war. We will not hesitate to mobilize 10 million troops to occupy his lands if he continues his hostilities.

Perhaps you would like to help Love and Esterel raise the ransom instead. But, I am afraid that this is a fight between us and Love and Esterel only. If they ignore us we have no choice.

The newly created dictatorship of Tooky decided earlier today that they will take up arms with Desartha agianst Love and Estrel. Their ground troops are currently engaged in internal affairs however, so only long-range missles, air-craft, and naval forces will be used in the fight.
In a press conference earlier today, the dictator of Tooky, Tre Barbanzo the Fourth declared that "While Tooky does not present a significant military threat as we have just been founded, we are quickly gaining military strength through our strong economy and our large long-range missle production sector. Love and Estrel will soon find this out as they are destroyed by the Grand Coalition's wrath!"

We do not care how you veiw this, we will still mobilize the entire 20th Army Corps (~10 mil) if you attack any of these nations. You are being unreasonable and we have a history and urge to conquer in the name of Imperialism. Do you understand us?

The Parliament of PostEUBritain today ratified a bill authorising the Prime Minister to declare war on Desartha should they attack our ally Love and Esterel. Under the terms of the regional alliance, a declaration of war would activate a clause in IndependenceAndDemocracy's founding treaty, requiring all member nations to side with the Regional Delegate in any international war.

Desartha would therefore be facing the entire IndependenceAndDemocracy region in battle.

As a show of goodwill, PostEUBritain is sending a force of 1 million heavily armed soldiers to Love and Esterel's border. The rest of the army, and the armies of other nations in our region, are ready to deploy as and when necessary.

President Eamon de Valera held a press conference today about the quickly evolving situation with Love and Esterel. He explained that Desartha means no harm to the people of Love and Esterel however, "Their governing officials will be fined for their ignorance." He also welcomed any efforts to take in refugees caused by the war and will alow them to be airlifted out of combat zones before warfare begins. "Desartha's armed forces are strictly ordered not to fire upon non-lethal targets and POW's will be treated with dignity and returned at the proper time." Desartha will alow a brief period of time for civilians to evacuate cities at their wishes and are warned that if they stay in the warzone they are there at their choice and any attempts by the government of Love and Esterel to use civilians as shields will, regretfully, be ignored.

OOC: Desartha: First off, you have given a REALLY bad reason to go to war. You want to go to war to get money? Ill give you a dogpile instead. Second off, ignoring someone simply because they use civilians as shields is really bad roleplaying. Plus, Ignoring is a OOC term, please do not use it in IC context... unless you mean you would not bomb targets that have human shields. In that case, good for you. If you want a FT battle, I can more than help you. I am mainly FT but will RP MT every so often. But just stop making yourself look like a complete n00b.

The Principality of Happy Mongeese, the Allied States of Aard varks, the Rogue Nation of Down With Politics and the People's Republic of Mischmasch have placed their troops under PostEUBritain's command for the duration of the crisis.

Regular armed forces (excluding militia and garrison troops) number 16 million. 1 million of these have just arrived to protect Love and Esterel, and the rest are divided into 5 super-corps of 3 million soldiers each.
Reservists have the same training as the regular army, and a further 24 million troops are being called up and divided into corps, working around the clock.

The Committee on Wartime Operations discussed 4 main options:

1. Send a massive task force to drive any invaders out of Love and Esterel
2. Once Desartha is committed and has invaded Love and Esterel, then invade Desartha.
3. Send three super-corps to invade Desartha, and two to defend Love and Esterel.
4. Make a pre-emptive strike on Tooky, then use Tooky as a base of operations to launch missiles at strategic targets in Desartha

Further suggestions were rejected on the grounds of feasibility.

North martian troops storm through the border.They rush through the country side spreading out in a 3 pronged attck force.the 1st division would head north and block the border and preapre a subtle defense.The 2nd division would race west doing the same to the western border.The 3rd would rush to the capital and force the leader of love and estrel to sighn a treaty making thier invasion legal.The 6 th divsion would go in and secure the eastern point of entry just in case things went bad.The 6 th woud also provide reinforcements just in cas one divsion could not complete thier objective.Thier were approximatley 6 million men per division who,on armoured transports raced through the love and estrel countryside.

Meanwhile the general sent a transmission to all civillians that they would not be harmed as long as they cooperated with them.

The 4th and 5th divsion were closing in on thier targets.The cyborgs would be formidable enemys.The division leader,Captain Aj Johansoon,Surveyed the seen.He told his warriors to stay down.He ordered his armor to guard the flanks and rush through the front lines with the infantry.Aj johansoon ordered the attack and high velocity sheels from the the tanks met with cyborg flesh.

Senior Officer(s) of the British military forces: We request in order to increase combat effectivity of our forces, we propose as military alliance to deal with any situation with Desartha. We would prefer to lead this strike, but seeing that this may not suit you will establish a joint commision which would command our forces' actions. 10 million men, half of which is not frontline fighting troops, most of it them are on ships at sea. There are alot of civil support units. 10 million may seem like alot, but is only a small fraction of what we could field. He is really only dealing with about 5 million combat units.

Well 10 million men is just a fraction of the 492 million men and women in the armed forces active and reserve- not counting the Congressional Army. Our economy can handle it due to its structure and fuction, yours might not- but ours it designed for massive wars and isolation. 10 million would not hurt our economy.

It is not you to declare who our main quarrel is with. We can go to war with any nation we please, and your is looking like a sweet addition to the Imperium and the Coalition. Economy is not a good enough reason for us, because a new territory in the Coalition will prove economically benifitial for both the new colony and the mainland people... don't tempt us!

The Most Serene Republic of Love and esterel would like to thanks heartedly all the Nations who have exprimed their diplomatic or/and military support to us, we would like to thanks also all the nations, including some in "The Grand Coalition" region who are trying to peacefully and diplomatically resolve this issue.

We really hope goods diplomatic relathionships (and eventually for willing nations some economic cooperations) will prevails betwen all nations involved, and that noone, even not a single soldier from either side will be killed.

It appears that with our allies, we sent by errors multiple TG to Desartha; love and esterel had send few days ago a telegram to Desartha with our apologizes, and we apologizes once again publicly on this international forum.

We are detaching our 2nd SuperCorps and placing it at your disposal to assist in whatever capacity you should choose.

As previously stated, our regional treaty requires that in times of international crisis, military action falls under the purview of the regional delegate - in this case PostEUBritain. This enables our region to punch above its weight in military matters - when one nation goes to war, so does the entire region without distinction according to nationality.

The Second SuperCorps therefore numbers 3 million soldiers. The first airborne battallions are already airborne and on their way to you. Logistics dictates that a significant percentage of this Supercorps must be devoted to maintaining supplies of food and ammunition, unless Setean Sebecians are able to assist.

The First, Third, Fourth and Fifth Supercorps of our region remain entirely under our purview. They will be used to launch a full-scale strike on Desartha in the event of significant damage to Love and Esterel. However, you may make suggestions in order to co-ordinate our military operations.

The call-up of reservists across our entire region is proceeding ahead of schedule. Our reservists have full military training, and are currently being used as a National Guard in case of counterstrikes if and when we invade Desartha or Tooky.

OOC : Regular Military of each nation in our region comprises around 2% of the population. A further 3% of the population are reservists, called up temporarily in time of war. The combined military strength of our region is therefore roughly 16.5 million regulars and over 24 million reservists. Troops so far used are those of PostEUBritain only.

The Caliphate of Desartha is willing to resolve this with Love and Esterel ALONE! All of the other nations need to back down as this is between us and Love and Esterel. Secondly we still want compensation money of $5 billion and we wish to talk with Love and Esterel's leaders privately. We have to say that the response to our more or less civilized(compared to other wars) war plans has been greater than to that of genocides we have witnessed. I suppose once money is added into the mix things become SO important.

Due to our larger size we can field more troops than any nation involved could. We will let you have command of your units, but due to the experiance of our military to yours we will advise and suggest troop movements. The Second Sebecean Democratic Imperium will not assault any Desarthan post until they prove aggressive.

We will send our Air Dominance Corps'* 32 Logistical Support Squadron to help with the mobilization of your troops.

A smart person would not demand tribute unless they absolutely know they can take their foe, your a 618 Million Nation, imagine what a 4.176 Billion like myself could do to you, if you do not back down i shall get involved with this and deal with you with full Force, now i am sure neither of us want death to our peoples, so it would be a excellent Idea to just forget this and go plant a garden or somthing.

OOC:The 4th corps is about 175,000 men. They will be shipped a division at a time(one Red Tidean Division=20,000 men, UNLESS attached with a extra brigade, then they equal 25,000 men. There are 5 divisions in a Corps(3 infantry(IE:Soldiers in trucks), 1 Mechanised-Infantry(IE:Soldiers in APCs with tank support), and 1 armored division(A near equal mix of APCs and tanks), the 3 infantry divisions have an extra brigade attached to them).

OOC: I sense that this is slowly turning into a World War...

In a speech earlier today, Tre Barbanzo stated that urgent internal affairs had made it nessecary to withdraw the military forces sent agianst love and esterel. "The country is in turmoil," he said, "We cannot afford to have a war at the current time." He also denied that Tooky has an airforce.

The official withdrawal note was sent to all country's involved.

Lots of good information in those that could help you RP just a little better.

Having received a communique stating that Desartha has decided not to attack Love and Esterel after all, PostEUBritain begins the slow process of moving its armed forces back to base.

The temporary conscription programme is halted within immediate effect, and all reservists will be released from active duty within 24 hours.

The effect on the PostEUBritain economy of large-scale troop transportation was significant. Parliament debated the notion of sending Desartha a bill for the cost of war preparation, but the motion was rejected by 452 votes to 111, with 83 abstentions.

Whilst it is hoped that this will signal the end of this incident, PostEUBritain will remain vigilant for any future acts of aggression by Desartha.

Love and esterel is happy to announce that peace has been secured.
We are also happy that our nation and desartha will begin to establish strong diplomatic relation and economic co-operation together.
