Celtayoshi's rather blatant imperialism (http://forums2.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=442616) within the African continent had persuaded Tulay Pol that his best bet in Pacific expansion would be to strike at nation that was already in war while the kettle was hot. Recent developements regarding Pacific alliances had really tied up Pol's possibilities, but with other world politics coming to a showdown he thought it perfect timing for the Caledonian outreach into the Pacific, targeting all of Celtayoshi's territory in the area, including Tonga, Tuvalu and Kiribati [and all other Pacific islands you may own].

There would be no room left for error, but that presented a few problems. Caledonia did not have a navy to speak of, although one was presently being constructed throughour Japanese ports, and Caledonia itself had few national harbors, and those that did didn't have the infrastructure to contruct a fleet. For that, Caledonia would have to wait at least ten years for those facilities to be constructed. Nonetheless, Caledonia would proliferate itself through another manner, which was by far more ingenious. Indeed, it would make use of its compact airforce, which too was quickly expanding to specific levels. (http://forums2.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=443215&page=3&pp=15)

Consequently, at around two in the morning of that time, off certain airfields dotting the northern part of the island, which was the most prepared due to the fact that the south had only been ceded to Tulay Pol by Kreytoria a little earlier, a vast aerial fleet of one hundred and fifty Be-23 Archimedes Lever Heavy Transport Aircraft boomed into the night skies. These specific aircraft had been tweaked a bit from the original design (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=9149204&postcount=307), and was fitted with one hundred passenger seats, and the rest of the room was occupied by auxilary fuel tanks, giving each Be-23 an enhanced range, summing to around five thousand kilometers to the location, with a range of five hundred nautical miles back. On the way back, the Be-23s would be gradually refueled ten at a time by air, providing them with the necessary power to get back to base.

The most important point, however, was the fact that the entire air armada carried around fifteen thousand airborne personnel, amounting to three regiments of said men. They were headed for operations in Tuvalu, and were forewarned of the potential hardships of fighting on the island chain. Indeed, it was expected that the fighting would be gruesome, hard, and violent, however, the Caledonian forces were well cut out for it, and it was time to show the world that Caledonia was not just a pushover country, and that it's expansion was something preordained. The three regiments would all land on a single island, the southermost one. That was perhaps the most important location for this war, as it would house an airfield that would be able to strike both at Tonga and at Karibati, providing Caledonia with a perfect unsinkable carrier.

So, in that form and with that in mind, the one hundred and fifty Be-23s rose into the night, continuing on their aerial voyage to Tuvalu. Around them quickly rose three squadrons of Lu-45 Air Superiority Fighters, amounting to a total of thirty-six. Being one of the most advance fighters in the world, with perhaps the most advance air to air missile, they had extreme confidence within their ability, and they thought they would prove that with their strike over Tuvalu. Going a bit faster, and lower than the Be-23s and Lu-45s were six squadrons of Lu-12 Canaries, armed with the infamous MLAM-2 air to surface missiles. Easily hitting seven hundred knots they would make the first impact on Tuvalu, and perhaps shake the Celtayoshian garrison enough to make the occupation of the island chain a bit easier.

It took around two hours or so for the Canaries to finish their flight and approach their targets. Flying at just forty meters over the water and with their low RCS and high stealth features, it would be incredibly hard for Celtayoshi to track with with their radar, and with that in mind, the Lu-12s prepared for their kill. At ranges exceeding two hundred kilometers they loosed their ten MLAM-2s each, meaning the missile strike was composed of a total of seven hundred and twenty MLAM-2s. Screaming through the air the missiles covered the distance quickly, perhaps in about six minutes, ending their voyage either by the cause and effect of Celtayoshi's aerial defenses, or by hitting their target. They aimed for airfields on the island chain, as well as garrison locations [troop concentrations], radars and surface to air missile batteries, hoping to deal an early death strike on Tuvalu.

While the missiles caused their havoc the Lu-12s turned before Celtayoshi could scramble fighters to chase them, making their way back to base as quickly as possible. All the while, the Be-23s and Lu-45s continued to close in, ready to drop their men and finish off the island chain. Hopefully, Celtayoshi had been shaken up a bit.

OOC: You can rp the airdrop of your troops, but be aware of the 100 fighters I have in the air by the time they arrive. Total number of infantry on the island is 1,500.

IC: By the time Celtayoshi had its fighters in the air, over 100 in total, the air raid was gone, unfortunately, so was the runway and two of its sister runways. On the ground the Air Defence Network that was supposed to protect Celtayoshi in the Pacific lay in ruins, with only 300 usable fighters after the raids had wiped out over 350 CY-X2s and CY-AS1s. The entire Tuvalu Island Chain had dark smoke clouds rising from it.

The scene on the ground was of utter chaos, the air force was hit hardest, but the Army had suffered a battering too. Despite this, the soldiers began to set up field hospitals, and all along the Island the defences where manned, those that were left anyway. The civilan fire department was drafed in to deal with the fires that were burning fresh, one particularly lucky shot had hit an open fuel value, spreading the fire deep into underground storage tanks, burning off gallons of jet fuel.

The attack had stunned Pacific Command, which quickly dispatched numerous distress calls to its allies, and order the full scale alert of all Celtayoshis Pacific Territories. Of the four Carrier Battlegroups maintained in the Pacific at all times by Celtayoshi, one was sent to Kiribati, one to Tonga, and one to Tuvalu, the fourth was sent initially to Tuvalu. Four more were drafted in, although it would be days before they arrived. Back in Celtayoshi the agressor nation was becoming clear, fingers where being pointed at The Macabees. Attacks on Celtayoshi did not go down well and Premier Németh was swift to issue an ultimatum and a Press Conference was being readied(OOC: I won't write the ultimatum until after your troops have landed on the island.).

This was not the end of Celtayoshi's final preparations, Code Deep Blue was issued, this was the code for a full scale readiness for war, and the entire Celtayoshi Military would be put on its highest alert status, ready to launch offensive actions within minutes. It took about two days for this state to be fully reached.

[Voh, Caledonia]
The city had fallen silent as the new army crafted by the witty Tulay Pol began marching through it to keep the peace. War had broken out abroad between Celtayoshi and Caledonia and trouble at home was not needed. However, most had stayed at home, not because of that, but because of the developements five kilometers away from the city in the very covert space station, currently in the developement stages. Nonetheless, the ABM system had been put into place since it was almost exactly the same design as the SAM system around the country, and it would take only twenty-four more months for the launching of the first six reconaissance sattelites into space, and a further seventy-two months for the launching of the country's first space based ABM system that would lead the world in technology and ability.

The city shuddered as the space station came alive, sending multiple rockets into the air. The rockets were in actuality a longer variation of the Praetorian V surface to air missile, with the name changed to the Decurion I. They hosted a larger rocket booster, with a larger installed fuel tank, with the same SCRAMjet engine. It meant that the Decurion I would use the rocket booster to hit around Mach 3 to get past three thousand meters altitude, and there it would disengage the rocket boosters and drop them [they disintigrate when they fall], allowing their SCRAMjets to fully start-up, pushing them to Mach 12 to leave the atmosphere and enter space. With this in mind they used ground based telescope technology to locate enemy sattelites and then an infra-red lidar homing system to accurately keep track of the moving sattelite. Once in space the engines would turn off, as fuel was no longer needed, and instead they would conserve their fuel to use their counter-thrust boosters which could change their direction, allowing them to chase after a fleeing sattelite.

The red and orange trails followed an estimated twenty Decurion Is into the midday sky, and into space. Most of the people on Earth lost track of them at that point, but the missile continued regardless, already making their way to the different locations of reconaissance sattelits Celtayoshi had in the southern hemisphere. Those in the northern hemisphere were out of reach, but the most dangerous were those orbiting directly in the southern hemispheres - the others could be dealth with if they decided to change orbit. Wether they hit or missed would be up to fate, but with their technology the miss rate was very, very low.

With that, the Voh space station, now not so secret, was silenced once again. Unfortunately, nobody civilian knew that the entire base was subterranean, and that Celtayoshi would have a hard time destroying it if it attempted to do so, as it would have to dig through over thirty meters of pure titanium armor reinforcement. Indeed, Tulay Pol had prepared Caledonia for all out war in the Pacific, ready to take on and defeat any nation that dare oppose it. This was a testament to that.

[Tuvalu]
The Lu-45 escort pilots had already seen the hundred or so scrambled aircraft on their radar and the IFF was reading them as hostile bogies, and consequently, they were ample game to intercept and engage. The power of the Lu-45, and its predecessor, the Lu-05 was not the design itself, but the missile it carried - the MTAAM-3 Predator air to air missile. It was designed to engage at altitudes over three thousand meters, and that's why the Lu-45 normally flew at twenty thousand meters, but it had a velocity of Mach 4.5 depending on altitude, and a range of two hundred kilometers, being one of the most advance air to air missiles currently fielded by any military. It's extraordinary range was due to the SCRAMjet engine and the incredible reinforced superalloy that coated the missile, giving it monsterous heat resistance and resistance to hydrogen enviroment embrittlement.

The thirty-six Lu-45s were quick to react, using the advantage of range, and let loose a total of seventy-two Predators, or two per aircraft. The missiles left one from each wing, leaving a trail of clear smoke behind it, and they whisteled towards their intended target using both ground radar, aircraft based radar, their own radar and their own lidar aquisition systems, making them incredibly accurate. They were designed to blow within a ten meter radius and destroy everything within that radius with a very powerful charge and a subsequent sprawling of dozens of small tungsten balls and incredible forces.

As the missiles made their way towards the enemy fighters the Lu-45s continued on their way, picking up speed, to take care of the enemy fighter formations before the Be-23s got closer. They had their weapons of choice prepared for a second engagement at longer range, before the actual dogfight began, and even at close range they each would have dozens of more missiles, and their cannons, making the Lu-45 extremely potent. Nonetheless, the fighters had a time limit. They had about thirty minutes to destroy Celtayoshi's aerial screen before the Be-23s found themselves directly over Tuvalu, prepared to drop, however, most pilots were confident in their ability to do the task set before them.

Within the Be-23s matters were a bit more calm, if not by much, as most of the soldiers were already packing up and preparing for their drop, attaching themselves to the ring above them, each one tapping the shoulder in front of them and repeating,"Check!" When the entire stick was ready the stick lead would look at a light behind him which was either green or red. Red did not authorize a drop, while green did. It was like the Second World War all over again, only instead of a baggy green pants each soldier wore his Sampson battle suit, prepared to give hell to Celtayoshi's ground troops.

a speech by the Premier

"Citizens of this mighty nation, I bring terrible news. Early this morning our beautiful Pacific Islands were brutally attack by an unknown amount of enemy bombers. These bombers came from the nation of The Macabees. As such, we have issued an ultimatum to the Macabees, and let me assure you they will regret this indecent act, truely they will!
Our soldiers will fight bravely to hold the islands until support arrives, and we pray for them, we shall not abandon them!
We urge all citizens to leave The Macabees now, and to report any living in Celtayoshi.
To any Macabees that may be resident in Celtayoshi, you shall not be allowed to leave our land until such time as your nation surrenders to us, as of this minute you are Prisioners of War.
To the Macabees Government, we shall destroy you for what you have done to our land."

Ultimatum to The Macabees

The government of The Allied States of Celtayoshi hereby demands the unconditional surrender of The Macabees to Celtayoshi. Failure to do so by noon today will result in a stae of war between our nations.

Secret IC to Cotland and Layarteb

We urgently require your assistance to fulfil the terms of our NAANP.

Celtayoshi sends.

Official Response
There will be no surrender, conditional or unconditional, indeed, we instead reciprocate your offer and give you the chance to surrender all of your Pacific holdings. We will not be defeated on our own turf, or anywhere else, and you will soon fall to Caledonian military power, we assure you of that. Do not underestimate us.

Tuvalu

The 75 CY-AS1s and 25 CY-X2s in the air were equiped with the most up to date counter measures yet developed, and they were tested to the limit as thy dived low and swerved radically to divert the missiles attention, whilst releasing flares and other mechanical counter-measures. The fighters went to afterburner and quickly tried to play catchup. The CY-AS1 was designed for this, Air Superiority, and was adept at dodging enemy missiles, which struggled to deal with the high maneoverability of the -AS1. The -X2 was less fortunate, designed as a multi-role fighter it was supposed to be used in the Pacific as a ship targetting paltform and all but 3 where lost, 14 -AS1s were taken down and 6 badly damaged. At close range the endless hours of training and experience showed as the Celtayoshi fighters released two missiles at medium range before closing to a spectacular air battle, where hopefully manoeverability would pay off. Each aircraft carruer eight missiles in total, mostly AIM-260s, basically a modified variant designed to create maximum damage. This close to the island Celtayoshi could now use its radar installations, or those that were left anyway, as they went to max power. This helped the ground track the battle going on out to sea. Half the remaining fighters took off to patrol the island itself, and waited Naval Support.

Celtayoshi State Intelligence Service

One by one numerous satelite feeds went offline, up to twenty where destroyed. This prompted a massive response, as immediately requests where sent to use Layateb satelites. Celtayoshi also readied its medium range missiles for a strike on New Caledonia, Tonga held the nearest silos. These missiles were not nuclear tipped, those were held only in Canada and soon Russia, but none the less could cause major damage. Authorisation was given for a strike of 20 missiles to hit military installations around the Island.

All Cottish military positions and warships in the Pacific Ocean recieved the following message.

FLASH FLASH FLASH

To all Commanding Officers, Cottish military installations/units/ships in the Pacific area.

Hostilities have erupted between the nation of Celtayoshi and the nation of Caledonia, both of whom are Cottish allies. Due to the long friendship between Celtayoshi, and the warmongering from Caledonia, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs are preparing a statement to be publicated later this evening. Hostilities are expected to commence between the Empire of Cotland and the nation of Caledonia shortly.

As of now, all Cottish forces in the Pacific Ocean are ordered to go to BERSTAT-2. You are to consider this a warning of imminent war, and take all precautions you see fit in preparing for combat. This information has been gathered by the Military Intelligence, and has been classified 1A probable.

The message warned the installations to go to max alert, and all Caledonian vessels were to be sunk as of 2000 hours (local time).

At 2000 hours (Polynesia time)

Message to Caledonian leadership

Dear sirs,

It has come to our attention that Caledonian forces has started offensive actions against our ally Celtayoshi in the Pacific Ocean, thus setting us in a serious pinch. The Empire was the first nation to diplomatically recognize Caledonia, and we are not satisfied with the actions taken.

Therefore we have no other choice than to officially declare the alliance between Cotland and Caledonia for null and void, and instead declare a state of war between Cotland and Caledonia. Our military forces will commence military operations against Caledonian military forces at times and places of our own choosing.

You have betrayed our trust, and for that you must face the consequences. God have mercy upon you, for our forces shall show none.

Regards,
Imperial Government of Cotland

The Empire's response was slower than it should have been. Sadly enough, the Empire was in a tough state. The recent deployment to the blockaide of Kreynoria had just ended and they were only semi-ready for another one. However, what could be done would be done. Immediately, the requested use of satellites was offered and a Celtayoshi representative would be asked to come to Layarteb. He or she would fly to El Salvador and occupy a strategic satellite intelligence bunker and work alongside Layartebian counterparts.

In addition, the use of reconnaissance aircraft would be allowed, especially the U-2 Dragon Lady and SR-71 Blackbird fleet.

At the same time, the elements of the Kreynorian blockaide would be immediately sortied again, though the initial deployment would take at least a week to get them out of the port.

[OOC: Before anybody posts again, please tell me exactly your fleet positions in the Pacific. I want to realistically get the next IC post, which I should, and that information is vital to me - and I would know it ICly because fleets are very hard to hide. This includes Cotland and Celtayoshi.]

OOC: My fleets are positioned around Wake Island and French Polynesia, as well as a Virginia class hunter/killer sub off Caledonia and a few more hunter/killer subs scattered around the Pacific, about to start preying on Caledonian merchantmen and such. Additionally, I'm about to transfer a lot more ships from the Atlantic Fleet to the Pacific Fleet via the Panama Canal, some eleven battleships, five carriers and more than 80 cruisers and escorts. For the start, my fleet will protect the Cottish islands, and the SOSUS network deployed around the posessions will aid in knowing if the enemy (read: you) are attempting to move in on my land. Additionally, I've got fighter (mostly F-22Bs and F-16C/Ds) and ASW (mostly P-7 Orion IIs bought from Layarteb) patrols up and running. Marines are protecting the islands, and several boomers are lurking somewhere in the Pacific... SAM sites are in plenty, so are flak and AAA. Important islands have their inlets and surroundings mined.

(OOC: Rabuul has been renamed "Rapul")

News of the Caledonian attack on Tuvalu had shaken the Federation of the Pacific. All the Rapul dailies printed the news of the attack on the front page, and the attack was a hot topic on many of the talk shows throughout the day. There was a fear that Caledonia may strike at Rapul itself, but for the most part the Federation of the Pacific was simply gripped with intrigue, considering the Caledonian attack was the first instance of war that the ocean itself had in a while.

Shortly after the attack, the Federation issued a global statement:

To all concerned parties,

The Federation of the Pacific condemns the unprovoked actions of Caledonia. Celtayoshi has committed no foul act against your nation and thus this war is wholly unjustified.

However, if Caledonia needs more land with which to expand, we propose the following:

-An immediate ceasefire takes place
-All parties in the Pacific will be invited to a conference where a new map of the Pacific can be drawn. In this way, we can ensure the continuation of the peace and stability that the Pacific has always been known for.

Signed,
John Miller,
3rd Consul of the Federation of the Pacific

[Air War, Tuvalu]
Unfortunately for those CY-AS1s the longer range of the Predator would allow the Lu-45 Hawks to release another two missiles each, and thus, another seventy-two missiles pounded through the air, hurling themselves at the enemy fighters before the enemy could even get a shot off at the Lu-45s. The Predators quickly accelerated to Mach 4.5, aided through the Hawk's radar, their own radar, and their own lidar, they were extremely accurate, not to mention the counter-flow thrust vectoring it used in order to make turns at high G ratings, making them some of hte most effective, and the most advance air to air missile in the world. The CY-AS1s may have been top of the line, but the Hawk was a much better aircraft, and there would be several testimonies to that in this war in the Pacific.

As the ranges closed the Celtayoshian CY-AS1s were able to let loose their own medium range air to air missiles, which had been unclassified by the database within the Hawk. Nonetheless, there were several inferior designs within the both the air to air missile and the CY-AS1, as compared to the Predator and the Lu-45, which should have been pointed out before. These would ultimately decide the fates of both the Hawks and the AS1s. The AS1 was described an ultimate stealth technology, yet it was designed to cruise at Mach 1.8. Stealth was reserved for subsonic velocities, and regardless, at subsonic velocities the Hawk's stealth was much more advance, being capable of evading both OTH-B radars and standard phased arrays. Moreover, each engine on the AS1 created forty thousand pounds of thrust, just like the Hawk, only the Hawk used extreme liquid nitrogen coolants and infra-red suppresants, while the AS1 was a glowing menace, making it much easier for the Predators, who already had ease, to lock on, follow and subsequently destroy. Regardless, the true test would come this day in the air.

The Hawks spread out to avoid clustering, that way the enemy missiles would have to break up to follow them. The Hawks had decided not to hit their afterburners, instead cruising at around Mach 2.4, allowing them to make high G turns without breaking their systems. The Hawk's main countermeasure technique was to confuse the missiles through multiple flight paths, but there was also the technique of shooting down the incoming air to air missiles. Indeed, some had already released more Predators, head to head, to collide with incoming vampires, churning black smoke throughout the sky. All the while, there were two small gatling guns working underneath the Hawk in hidden pannels to avoid making the rcs of the aircraft any larger. These were aerial close-in weapon systems and they did their job fine, saving the lifes of many pilots.

Those pilots which were not as fortunate for first to eject over the Pacific. They would hit the water below, and there was no chance of friendly rescue - they would either die there, swim to safety, or become prisoners of war. There were at least nine Hawks destroyed in the air, leaving a mere twenty-seven to continue the fight. Nonetheless, the ranks of AS1s had been shortened as well, and that second wave of missiles prior to the engagement of their medium range air to air missiles would have destroyed even more of them.

The Hawks gathered again and fired a third wave of missiles, this time number fifty-four [taking into account the destroyed]. The MTAAM-3 Predators chugged at their quick pace, flaming through the sky, making sure that little survived in their path.

All the while, the Be-23s to the rear continued around sixty nautical miles back, keeping safe from harm, hoping that the Hawks succeeded in destroying the air net around Tuvalu, allowing them to drop their men on the bottom most island. It was a tough call, but most soldiers who fought for Caledonia believed they would emerge from this war victorious.

[Sinking of the Virginia, Caledonia]
The Virginia was a very sound design, unfortunately for Cotland their declared belligerence would not expand the limetime of that Virginia, and although quite quiet, it would not be able to hide forever, and it became prey to the newly deployed SB-13 sonobouys around Caledonia, and newly aquired islands from the Roman Empire. The TB-13 was huge, expanding around six meteres cubed, having a towed array sonar that would deploy verticly into the water, having enough length to finally rest at the deep sound axis channel.

The stealth of a submarine came through its ability to submerge under the mixed layer, as most surface ships could only search the mixed layer unless they carried a towed array with them, in which case they could dip it under the layer. Nonetheless, there remained a shadow zone, which was where a submarine could not be detected. By putting the hydrophones on the deep sound channel axis the shadow zone was eliminated, allowing easy readings for those Virginians, who's nuclear powerplants were not as quiet as one would suspect, especially this close to the coast, where the water was not as deep.

Unknowingly for them they became prey of angry Caledonian soldiers, more specifically, the Caledonian coastal airforce. The Mi-9T was one of the few foreign designs still used by Caledonia, but it would serve its purposes; in fact, it was a great design. Two Mi-9Ts left port that day to hunt for the submarine. It wasn't really a hunt since the submarine had been found by the coastal bouys, yet they were prepared for anything; both carried four MT-3 torpedoes.

As they approached the area where the Virginia had been last detected at, each began to drop a series of sonobouys in delta formation, attempting to read the exact location of said submarine. With the intelligence beforehand provided it hadn't taken more than three minutes and both submarines glared through the water with their upgraded LN-66 lidars, which used a blue-green lasers which easily pounded through the water and got a lock on the submarine.

Immediately, they released four torpedoes into the water [two each], nose first, and the MT-3s turned on their active sonar search and their lidar sensors, as they pummeled through the water. The MT-3 used a underwater jet propulsion system which made it extremely quiet, and allowed it a maximum velocity of seventy knots, and a maximum range of seventy kilometers. It's width guaranteed the power behind it, and the Virginia was guaranteed a kill with even one hit [OOC: I wouldn't normally say this, but the Virginia is a real world design, and thus has limited capabilities when regarding other technology].

Regardless, the helicopters continued their lock on it, incase the Virginia was able to outwit four very advance torpedoes. With this kill perhaps Cotland would rethink its position in this war...

I HAVE A PRESENT FOR YOU!!!

This thing took me like an hour to make. I had 15 images to place together but they all overlapped so it wasn't that easy. You can open it with an image editor and make a line. 1 inch is 72 pixels which is 434 statue miles. Please use it...The actual file is like 3.2 meg so be patient and save it to your PC so you don't swarm my bandwidth. It's from World War II but the islands are still there so yeah, no complaining.

Rear Admiral Dan Chase sat in his office at Kauai naval base, near Haena, Kauai, Hawaii. He was a thirty-three year veteran of the military, comissioned when he was 18, now he was 51. He was going to retire soon, only four more years before he could recieve full retired benefits. Outside his office, the 4th Enterprise Carrier Battlegroup was preparing to sail. So far a full 50% of the ships had enough steam to make sail and the other 50% were about to be ready. He would be in command of the flotilla of 122 ships. The 4th Enterprise Carrier Battlegroup was only one of three battlegroups embarking. The other two were the 8th and 9th Wasp Carrier Battlegroups, coming out of Niihau. All 122 ships would be ready in less than thirty-six hours, setting sail in approximately forty. From there, it would be a journey of some 5,445 miles at an average speed of 22.69 miles per hour, which was, more or less, 20 knots. This meant they had a ten day journey ahead of them from Hawaii to New Caledonia.

The 122 ship group would consist of 1 heavy assault carrier, 2 light assault carriers, 6 amphibious assault carriers, 4 battleships, 14 cruisers, 22 destroyers, 16 frigates, 4 missile assault ships, 4 dock landing ships, 4 amphibious transport dock ships, 12 transport ships, 8 supply ships, 9 roll-on/roll-off ships, 6 hunter-killer submarines, 3 cruise missile submarines, 3 submarine tenders, and 4 oilers.

Aside from these 122 ships, four others were to be stalking the waters near New Caledona. These four would be split into two groups of two. The first group would consist of a single fleet ballistic missile submarine and an escorting hunter-killer submarine. The second group would consist of an intelligence gathering command ship and its escorting hunter-killer submarine.

The combined firepower of the 122 ship flotilla would come with heavy ordinance. (* signifies that the weapon system is Top Secret IC)

If necessary, the Marines could be used to attack the island and secure it against enemy forces. The island chain was a mere 18,575.5 km² with the main island being 16,372 km². Layartebian forces would, if necessary, land, although that would be at the orders of the high command, which did not plan on getting that involved in this conflict. The main flotilla of ships would effectively set up a blockaide around the island, from twenty-five nautical miles out. The ballistic missile submarine on duty was standard protocol and it would get no closer than one hundred and fifty nautical miles to New Caledonia. The Sehnsucht and its escort had a very different duty. They were to stay out of range of the coast and any allied shipping and just monitor SIGINT.

New Caledonia had something impressive though. It contained one quarter of the worlds' nickel resources. Whether or not this had anything to do with the massive supply of nickel on the island group, nickel was an important material for the Empire. Nickel was used in batteries, superalloys, and currency. Was nickel important? That depended on the outcome of the conflict.

As requested by the Celtayoshi government the massive flotilla would be making sail shortly and heading south, towards New Caledonia for ten days. If they were to be recalled, they could easily be recalled but it didn't see likely.

As Prime Minister Wales read the plea for help from Celtayoshi, word came Cotland had come forward to assist. Prime Minister Wales knew this was the time to strike so he issued the following letter to Caledonia.

“We are formally declaring a state of war against your country for the unprovoked attack on our Pacific neighbors. The hostile stance you have taken in the region has force us into this position. We were concerned about the offers you were making in reference to our possessions and your policy of invading people that don’t take your offers simply won’t do. If you wanted a raging battle with every nation on the Pacific Rim you have succeeded in that quest. Your arrogance and insolence towards others will not be tolerated. Your perceived strength in size and your zeal for land will be your demise. Please send extra supplies with your troops, they will need them when we incarcerate them in POW camps.”

Papua New Guinea
The Emergency message WAPITI was sent to all Pacific facilities and Fighter patrols increased over New Guinea and Fiji. Instantly men and material began to follow established protocol for emergency war preparations. The Air Force was first to act, as they normally had several wings of Fighters on constant alert for Air Patrols. One flight of F-78KD’s (The Diceman Wing) rolled down the east runway at Fighter Base-17NG. Within minutes the group of 96 planes was bearing east towards the embattled Tuvalu. The group kicked in the Afterburner and settled in for the short flight. Advanced Radar Sites in Fiji showed a major Air Battle erupting over the Island. The pilots weren’t sure what they would encounter, but the full array of weaponry they possessed in this phenomenal aircraft made them a formidable opponent to what lay over the horizon. P-3D Orion's patrolled in an expanded arc, scouring for Caledonian vessels.

The sleepy 7th Fleet began to slowly creep out into the open Ocean some 5 Ocean Class Carriers complete with the compliment of support Frigates, Destroyers, Guided Missile Cruisers, the venerable Ragnarok Battleships and Supply Vessels began to bellow smoke, preparing for a move towards Tuvalu. The 8th MEF would prepare for departure, but they would have to wait for at least 48 hours due to logistical issues on several of the Sacramento Class Prepositioning Ships attached to the Naval Units within the MEF.

All along the coast of Papua New Guinea SOSUS data was being collected at remote bouy locations and being forwarded to the Operations Center (CENTCOM LIMA). The information was then passed on to the Fiji Operations Center (CENTCOM MALLET) via the satellite network overhead. The SOSUS ring around Fiji bristled with data as the supercomputers handling all the information strained to keep up. The exchange of this data between Commands was vital to establish a battle picture. As an added precaution, both Operations Centers had the ability to “hack” commercial satellites and exchange data should wayward anti-satellite missiles take the Hawdawg Military SATLINK system offline.

Fiji
As expected the Air Force moved quickly to intervene. An additional P-3D Orion Squadron took to the air adding an additional Sea Patrol radius around Fiji of 100nm. A full combat wing (The Yarddog Wing) of 96 F-78KD’s moved off the runway at Fighter Base F-32R and north towards Tuvalu Island within 12 minutes of the Wapiti order. Just like the advancing Diceman wing from the East the Yarddog Wing could see the fight unfolding over the island. What they noticed was a large group of transports hanging back behind the fighter battle. This might offer a turkey shoot and the Yarddog Squadrons quickly took a bearing NNE to engage the enemy transports from the rear.

8 hours after the declaration of war
Dock lines were hastily removed from Seawolf and Dolphin II submarines as a full compliment of 72 silent service vessels took to sea. The island was the hub of the Submarine Fleet and putting this many vessels to sea in such a short time was a challenge but certainly not impossible. Eight Ragnarok Battleships with a supporting cast of Sabre Class Guided Missile Destroyers, Ardent Class Frigates, and Revenge Class Destroyers made final preparations for a quick move North. It was truly an impressive site to see the Longshoremen load these vessels so quickly. The 180th Dockworkers Union in Fiji had won the prestigious “mother load” title 5 years running and the skill they displayed making the combat vessels ready for sea were phenomenal. The 217th Dockworkers Union in Papua New Guinea weren’t shabby either they only came in second to the 180th three years running.

The governors of Wallis and Futuna grew worried from the increased military presence around their vulnerable region. Bjornoya had sent a few destroyers and supply ships months ago, and a single battleship lay at port.

Both governors independently expressed their concern to Bjornoyan Patriarch Rand. Given that the increased military presence was due to New Caledonian agression, and Bjornoya's proximity to Cotland, Hawdawg, and Celtayoshi, the patriarch decided to support the containment of New Caledonian expansion. Messages were sent to the national leaders:

(Secret IC)

To: Celtayoshi, Hawdawg, Cotland
From: Bjornoyan Federal Government

The aggressive attacks by New Caledonia are entirelly unjustifiable and threaten the fragile order established in the Pacific. Bjornoya offers its facilities in Wallis and Futuna for any of your operations, naval or air, that will be staged against this menace. Please consider this a sign of co-operation against a common threat.

To: New Caledonia
From: Bjornoyan Federal Government

Due to your aggresive and barbarically expansionist policies, any and all New Caledonian presence found in the vicinity of Wallis and Futuna will be met with unconditional force. Consider this an embargo against your nation.

OOC: Just to let you know, World War II never happened. LOL. We're not started after WWII, this Earth happened long ago, hell Rome traces himself back to the Roman Empire. We had our World War I but it was a farce, no fun in that.

Rear Admiral Chase had two possible routes he could take. The most direct route put him through Celtayoshi Kiribati and Tuvalu and through Hawdawgian Fiji. The second route he could pull through would be through Celtayoshi Kiribati and Cottish Polynesia. As an alternative route, he could come through Indonesia, between Hawdawgian and Psychotikan territory, around through the Torres Strait and through the Coral Sea. The most direct route was also the most dangerous, putting it well within Macabeean (OOC: I get that right?) aircraft range. If he took the longer route, it would take longer but his ships would be safer until they got much closer to his territory.

Macabeean aircraft were striking all Celtayoshi territories and thus would be using up a considerable amount of resources. More reconnaissance would be needed and it would be done. A flight of SR-71A Blackbirds would be making reconnaissance runs, first over Celtayoshi territory at 125,000 feet and a speed of Mach 3.2. Then, they would fly over Hawdawgian territory and attempt to get reconnaissance pictures of the Macabeean airspace from their position. They would be in and out of the air so quickly that it would be increasingly difficult to get a lock on them but the ILSD had no doubts that the Macabeean military would have the capability. The decision to use the SR-71A Blackbird over the U-2S Dragon Lady had been made when Celtayoshi was first struck. The aircraft were simply too slow.

At the same time, from Ynoga, a pair of B-7B Incubus bombers were taking off. They were long-range, high-speed, high-flying, strategic bombers. Their flight towards New Caledonia would never come within 2,800 miles of the territory. From there, they could launch their long-range missiles, which were AGM-192 Dreamcatcher missiles. Each bomber could hold six giving twelve total. Four out of the twelve would be equipped with a powerful EMP warhead capable of a blast radius of 14.54 square miles. The other eight would be carrying a BLU-113 penetrator warhead. The missiles were air launched ballistic missiles, that had a 3,000 mile range. They would cruise towards their target at an altitude of 200 miles and a speed of 9,500 miles per hour. Then, they would re-enter at 15,000 miles per hour and streak towards the target. The C variant, the EMP version, had a CEP of 30 feet whilst the conventional D variant had a CEP of 18 feet. The use of highly advanced, solid-state GPS meant that the missile communicated with satellites only on launch and twice during mid-course. Terminal phase was made completely independent of outside sources. The guidance section was heavily shielded against EMP and counter-offensive jamming. The missiles had devestated Yelmish ships off the coast of Ecuador and they were about to lay waste to Macabeean territory.

All twelve missiles were split evenly into two groups. The first group would strike the airbase the air lift was launched from. The two EMP missiles would streak in first, air bursting over the airbase to cripple its communications and warning systems. The four missiles would come in afterwards. One would be aimed at the central command bunker, two at the fuel depot, and the last at the ammunition supply storage. The second group would strike the airfield again. The EMP missiles would once again blanket the airfield, taking out its electronics again. The four missiles would then strike the radar, communications station, the ammunition store, and the control tower.

As the B-7Bs and SR-71As flew to their targets, they were high, very high. The B-7B cruised at a speed of 2,000 miles per hour and an altitude of 100,000 feet.

Secret Encryption to Celtayoshi & Hawdawg

The Empire needs to perform aerial reconnaissance of Macabeean territory. The Empire would like to overfly your Pacific territories with SR-71A Blackbird aircraft. We need approval for this action.

Panama

The massive warships traversed the Panama Canal, exercising a lot of caution. The largest of them, the upgraded Ragnarok Flight II class battleships straight out of the yards were equipped with two CNE-75 Pebble Bed nuclear reactors, which provided enough power to propell the 89 000 ton behemoth to speeds exceeding 40 knots. More than enough to keep up with the aircraft carriers. The 16-inch main guns and 8-inch secondary guns were supplemented by four torpedo tubes capable of firing Mk-50 Mod 2 Barracuda ASW torpedoes below the waterline, five Mk-141 Harpoon launchers, fourty-eight Mk-51 vertical launch tubes fitted with quadloaded Evolved Sea Sparrow Missiles and single-loaded SM-2ERs, as well as six 30 mm CWIS mounts and four Mk-31 launchers for the RAM point defense missiles. All in all, the Ragnaroks were well fitted for the battle to come, and their crew of 2300 were very confident in victory. The heavy composite/titanium armor scheme, up to a meter thick in certain areas were more than enough to repell anti-ship missiles and all but the heaviest of shells. Seven of these monsters were being transferred through the Panama Canal, as well as four of the older Flight I vessels, which were to be decommissioned soon anyway. They were armed pretty much the same way, albeit with slightly less armor and conventional power plants, which limited their speeds to 38 knots.

Also in the fleet being transferred were two of the new Odin class heavy aircraft carriers, each of them capable of carrying 138 aircraft, including 30 F-22N Sea Raptors, 10 F-29B Vultures, 20 A-5D Vigilantes, 40 F/A-18E Super Hornets, 4 RA-5E Vigilantes, 8 EA-5F Vigilantes, 8 S-3C Vikings, 4 E-2E Advanced Hawkeyes, 4 C-2B Greyhounds and 10 SH-60R Seahawks. These two vessels, named "Odin" and "Tor", were joined by three older Nimitz class carriers, each carrying 20 F-22N Sea Raptors, 30 F/A-18E Super Hornets, 10 A-5D Vigilantes, 4 RA-5E Vigilantes, 4 EA-5F Vigilantes, 4 E-2E Advanced Hawkeyes, 4 C-2B Greyhounds and 8 SH-60R Seahawks. The five carriers and eleven battleships were joined by more than 30 cruisers, mostly Hordalands and Kublers, as well as 40 destroyers of the Devlin Flight II and Rothsky classes, and 24 Bergen and Mjelde class frigates. A small number of submarines, mainly of the Hades class also accompanied the fleet. The Layartebians had been gracious enough to allow the Cottish warships to pass through the canal, and the ETA for the fleet to be on station in Polynesia would be in three days.

Off Caledonia

"Conn, sonar, torpedo in the water, torpedo in the water!"

The control room of the Virginia immediately shifted into high gear. The reports were that four torpedoes were homing in on them.

"All ahead flank! Take her down, deep down! Five-inch room, deploy countermeasures!"

The diving officer immediately stepped up and ordered the helmsman to take the sub down with the diving planes aimed downwards at 25°. It was a very steep dive, but hopefully it would save their lives. The yard had guaranteed that the sub would be able to go down to 620 meters, but if they went any further, they might not make it up again. The crush depth had been set to 630 meters, but the captain relied on the yard to give a bit leeway.

The countermeasures deployed, but the unknown subs swooshed straight through them as if they weren't there.

"A hundred meters, eighty meters, sixty meters, fourty meters, twenty, ten..."

The frustration in the voice of the sonar operator was clear, and everyone knew that this was it. The captain stood up and looked at his crew, who were now looking at him.

"I'm sorry..." was all he managed to say before the four torpedoes slammed into the hull of the Virginia, detonating and ripping up the hull, allowing the immense pressure to collapse the remaining hull and send the water in, killing the crew in an instant.

The remnants of the sub went below 630 meters, and the last action taken by the sinking Virginia was to release the emergency bouy in the aft left corner of the sail. It flew to the surface, and once it breached, it started transmitting a cryptated signal over and over again, telling the people with the appropriate equipment, in this case only the Naval Command that one of its subs had been sunk. First blood had been drawn by Caledonia.

****************

Egypt

As a result of the sinking of the submarine, in Egypt five hours later, four B-9A Sphinx strategic bombers took off. The Sphinx, a Layartebian design, was a stealthy bomber. In this case, the bombers were loaded with twelve AGM-86F Block IV CALCM-ERs each, as well as topped fueltanks. They would refuel over Diego Garcia in a few hours, giving them topped fuel tanks for their mission to strike Caledonia. The missiles were targetted to be fired against Caledonian airbases and naval facilities. The Cottish High Command didn't want to engage civilian targets. Yet. Anyway, the missiles would be fired from a range of 1650 nautical miles, or 3055 kilometers, and the Cottish bombers would be on their way back to Diego Garcia by the time they hit home. To minimize risk of detection, the sortie would be carried out under cover of darkness.

Communique to the World

There will be no retraction of the Celtayoshi declaration of war without the unconditional surrender of New Caledonia. We will not stand for our territory being invaded by the forces of Evil.

Message to All Allied Nations

Celtayoshi gives permission to use territorial waters and fly over airspace. At the end of this conflict the Celtayoshi Government will compensate all nations who assisted it. Attack at will.

Message to Rome

Your help would be very welcome, but note we will not seek a diplomatic end to this. This is totally unjustified and our people will not stand for it. Applications to join the military have doubled since this conflict began, this alone idicates the anger in our nation.

Operation - The End

The South Pacific Patrol Fleet, stationed west of Caledonian waters.

The End....it was not needed to be said that the " End " was going to happen for Japan sooner or later. The orders were sent to Admirial Yoshihama. The impossible would now be warped.....into the possible.

Intercom of the ships with-in the Fleet

Admiral Yoshihama cleared his throat, and sighed. He stared down into his orders, and then sighed again. He turned on the intercom, and began to speak.

" I have just been informed that the attack on Caledonia is underway. As of this moment we are at War. What many of you would call impossible is now the possible. We are to assault the Cotland and Hawdawg fleets, and push them out of New Caledonian waters. I pray, as do many at home including the Emperor him self, that we shall show the world we are no longer the little quiet nation next door. We shall show the world that we are capable of anything, even if we must die in the process. No one is aware of our decision, but at this moment forces from Myanmar are setting up a Naval blockade from the Indian Ocean to the Pacific Ocean and are setting up forces along the border with Greenmanbry. At this same moment Indonesian forces are preparing to take the well chartered island owned by Hawdawg. Now, it is time to get ready. All flightmen report on deck in outfit, all navalmen report into firing control, and all Marines report to your armed cavalry units. "

He sighed again. The End was most possibly near.

Patrol fleet between the Pacific and Indian Oceans

Admiral Mioshi had recieved his orders as well. He was not exactly told why but was told to fire on all ships, including those to be considered Japanese allies. Defensive fleets were ordered to move to strengthen a Naval Wall.

OOC

Yup my mind has gone to hell.

I knew Cotland was up to something when he sent his sub at me back in the other thread.

Anyways, I don't really want this to get out of hand. I just want things to get settled down because we all know too damned well that all hell will break loose in about 30 minutes if we don't get this settled.

So yea I guess I may be joining Nerotika in the graveyard soon...heh

The Celtayoshi Air Force has sought the permission of Hawdawg to station 150 Bomber aircraft on Fiji. Details of the aircraft will not become available until much later on. Furthermore, the Celtayoshi Navy is to release 45 of its Fast Attack Submarines into the Pacific in order to hunt out enemy forces and ensure total naval domination of the Pacific. Two more Carrier Battlegroups, including the Celtayoshi Carrier Battlegroup are to be dispatched from Cameroon to the Pacific, these will complement the six already making full steam into the area as we speak.Fleet replenishers are being readied or setting sail from the major ports in Celtayoshi.

5,000 Celtayoshi Marines and Army TaskForce 1 troops are being readied for paradrops and beachhead assaults on an island territory. They will remain in Celtayoshi for the time being.

Finally, all tourists from all Celtayoshi Pacific Islands have been evacuated, all civilian flights into and out of these islands have stopped and the government has ordered the complete siezure of buildings in the urban areas, many are being boobytrapped, reinforce, or fortified for street to street battles. The soldiers on the island are digging in as quickly as they can. It will not be long until the island is properly invaded.

OOC: Right right

IC: The fighters, obviously not gonig to get close enough, backed off before any more waves could affect them. They regrouped closer to the island. In all only 50 were left, so some of the patrol aircraft sent up to cover the island joined them. It was now a game of tactics, and resources, there was only so many missiles The Macabees could fire.
The CYAF now split up int0 five groups, one group was to loop left, one to loop right, one to fly high, one to fly low, and the largest to hold back out of radar range for the moment. The first four groups consisted of 20 aircraft each, the final group totaled 30, the outer ring groups flew max speed towards The Macabees. They valiently tried to dodge missiles until the were close enough to launch their own.
Once The Macabees had fired there first volley at this new attack by the Celts, the fith central group went full speed straight through the centre. On command each of the fighters activated there jamming equipment. This was not powerful, but when over 100 aircraft did this at once if made for a hell of a distraction. As the Macabee aircraft burned through the jamming they faced now five groups, all closing very rapidly and within range, the middlegroup with near full complements of missiles had now added another dimension to the attack. The Macabees had to look forward, left, right, down and up to cover the whole of the battle, the Celtayoshi Air Force had just one point to aim for. They selected targets and released missiles like there was no tomorrow...

The Sehnsucht and its Hunter escort made their way through the Pacific. They were powered by state-of-the-art pebblebed nuclear reactors and made such little noise below 18 knots that their detection was highly unlikely. The Sehnsucht, the surface vessel, carried massive jamming systems, both passive and active, that enabled it to hide from radar, satellite, infrared, and just about anything other than visual. It was mainly for SIGINT gathering and would stay far enough away from enemy territory to do its job. The current goal put the ship in the Tasman Sea, meant to monitor the situation from the south. It was not far away, having come down through Cottish Polynesia and further south, to come around the south of New Zealand.

The Centurion Flight II SSBN and its Hunter escort were already set. They were on patrol in the south Pacific, not far from Australia when the situation was declared and they made their way east, towards Cottish Polynesia and situated themselves to the south of the island chain. They were well within range of enemy territory with their missile systems but far enough away to avoid enemy fire. If necessary, they would move further west to fire.

The missiles launched from the B-7s would have hit by now and the bombers were almost back to friendly territory. Another flight of nine, armed with six missiles each, four being EMP and the other fifty being conventional, would be tasking as soon as those landed. Those would be firing on command structures in New Caledonia and the Kermadic Islands.

---Somewhere in the Pacific---

It was pure luck, really, that the Varsolan government (if you could call a massive conglomerate of corporations a "government") got involved. A ship, a large boat of steel, a member of Varsolan Fishing and Co. just happened to be somewhere in the Pacific. What followed could have outclassed any bestseller comedy by Varsolan TV Works or VBS or anything else.

"Arr, tis be lookin' like a storm tonight, heeeheeheeheeheee." The captain had a rough singsong voice, a very irritating voice, one that his mates and his shipmen hated to hear.

"Yup, captain..." One replied, hoping to shut up the massive hardnosed idiot.

"Nay, tis be lookin' like a bomber. In fact, this is almost certainly a B-9A Sphinx strategic bomber, almost used exclusively by Cottish airmen." The sailor had thrown off his fake sailor accent (which had been very bad anyway) and was now speaking like a graduate of the Varsolan NAval Academy (run by Varsolan Acedemic Studies, of course). This caused his rapid degration to a "person who has been thrown off a boat and doesn't know how to swim".

His cries of his inablility did not cause any concern among the crew. In fact, most of the grizzled fishermen were cackling furiously, telling him that "his education didn't teach him how to swim". He had insurance, by Insurares and Co. (as did they all) but that didn't matter. They knew how to swim and he didn't.

Then his cries rapidly changed to a "look out!" and the boat crashed into a rock. A investigation by Varsolan Fishing and Co. (a member of the Secondary Board of Corporations) prompted widespread notice among the government about this war in the Pacific.

While most did not care, since no profit was possible, several mediation companies and arms manufacturers have offered their services to the various participants in this war...for a small fee, of course.

OOC: Layarteb, this isn't just a matter of me tracing my history back to the Roman Empire, I am the Roman Empire. Let us not forget that :D.

I should also mention that, RP-wise, the Kermandecs are still mine.

IC:

Cornelius Marcus sat in his office contemplating his next course of action. Before him lay several newspaper clippings keeping him informed on the war and the threat level they posed on Roman interests in the Pacific. He also saw before him the offer Caledonia placed on the Kermandec Islands. He had it signed, but it was not yet sent.

Realizing his leverage, he sent an ultimatum to the Caledonian Government:

Your offer for the Kermandec Islands so far sits on my desk ready to be transferred to your control. However, given the state of war between your government and that of our allies, Celtayoshi, we shall withhold the transfer of the islands until you agree to cease hostilities with Celtayoshi and his allies. Should you refuse this offer, we will place an immediate naval and aerial blockade around Caledonia (which we have surrounded) and invite your enemies to do the same. Considering you have no navy to speak of and will be choked of any incoming supplies, your odds are extremely out of your favour. However, if you go the peaceful route, we will offer you all the economic assistance you want, as well as an offer to enter diplomatic and economic relations with our nation, on top of giving you the Kermandecs.

Please choose wisely.

Gnaeus Cornelius Marcus Pompilus,
Prefect of the Roman Union
October 1, MMV

He then rifled off another message to the allies of Celtayoshi:

Beijing

"Your Excellency, it would appear that this would be a most fortuitous time for re-evaluating our diplomatic position. It is interesting that so many nations consider it acceptable to engage in provocative actions near our territories without even acknowledging our presence."

Emperor Suun chuckled at his Foreign Minister. "Rongyi, sometimes our silence is useful. After all, we have managed to entrench ourselves in Taiwan without so much as a complaint from any major power; the Resettlement Ministry will have completed their task by the time anyone else decides to care. However, as you say, it may be time to reposition ourselves; this little brewing conflict could be quite informative...."

Defence Minister Qong Wanfa offered up the latest intelligence. "Our monitoring stations in North Maluku and Singapore picked this up a few hours ago; our erstwhile Japanese allies are up to something. We're still analysing our intelligence, but they have a lot of active vessels ploughing the seas south of here. They are indeed cunning; taking advantage of the Macabees as a diversion while they do whatever it is they plan."

Suun shook his head. "Perhaps not taking advantage, Wanfa. Perhaps...ah, I am only surmising. I trust that our bases in the Marshalls and Marianas Islands are on alert?"

"Of course, they have been since the Kreynoria-Cotland confrontation; they are now monitoring the battles in the Pacific. Our satellites are doing a similar job when they pass over the area."

"Excellent. Keep me updated on the situation as it develops."

IC -

Kobe, Japan

The Vice Admiral sat in a meeting room with multiple Admirals and Commanders. There were only 2 Fleets and 1 Armada activated, the Indian Ocean-Pacific Ocean Patrol Fleet, the South Pacific Patrol Fleet, and the Indonesian Armada. They were deciding on what to do next. And they decided.

Indonesian Armada, LOC UNKNOWN ( Close to Hawdawg )

" What?? " Said Commander Royce.

" We are recieving orders to fire upon Hawdagian ports, sir. "

" Our allies? But why? " He responded

" Sir, I don't exactly know why. But these are our orders.. "

The Commander sighed. Not some two months ago did he have a meeting with a Commander in the Hawdawgian Navy about Indonesian defenses. Now he was being ordered to fire upon them. The Admiral of the fleet was in Kobe, leaving the Commander incharge of the Armada. And now...he was being ordered to fire on his allies. What was the world comming too now? Some minutes later he recieved intell from the Vice Admiral and the Ministry of Naval Defense. Apparently most of Hawdawg's ships had left port to assault New Caledonia and was left unguarded. Satelite imagery reported that multiple ships from other nations were inbound to dock in the now empty Ports. The Armada was large and would have to destroy these empty ports to get rid of there tactical advantage and would need to eliminate all ships capable of carrying men, supplies, even civilians. No one would be allowed to leave and come into Papua New Guinea by means of water. The Armada carried 30% of the 27th Regiment, and were also ordered to use them if necissary. Japan was going into a full out war, a full out war with there brothers...one that could possibly mean the end...

Outer Space, High Orbit[/B

The Japanese S-S Satelite floated in High Orbit, sending information down to Earth to JAASP, location unknown. It's purpose was to remove any satelites deemed hostile or inapropriate, and the time for its job had finally come.

[B]JAASP, LOC UNKNOWN

He sat in a chair, monitoring his reports. His name? Well...he had no name. He, lets say, didn't exist. JAASP didn't exist, only one launch site existed and the name painted on there was " Japanese Space Exploration Project ", or JSEP. It was disguised as a Civilian program used for weather and to detect monsoons before they happened. But secretly the unknown organization launched a few of it's own satelites, including the S-S. It's purpose was to shoot down other satelites with high efficiency, and to shut it self down and appear un-powered. And in this case, that was the plan.

Control Panelist - " Sir, are we to fire on the enemy satelites yet? "

He looked at the Panelist and thought for a moment. Without saying a word, he said yes and gave him the photos and printed reports just recieved from the S-S. The Panelist knew his orders, fire and shutdown. It would fire all of it's missiles and then the S-S would shutdown. Infact, all of the satelites would shut down, enemy friendly and Japanese. The missiles wern't highly exlposive, they were EMP. The Japanese satelites would shutdown immediatly after the missiles launched and would power back up 5 minutes after the EMP discharge. By then all on-line, or powered, circuitry would be destroyed. All off-line, or unpoewered, circuitry would not be affected and would turn on 5 minutes after the discharge incase the EMP waves wern't absorbed by the metalics or plastics of the satelites it affected.

The missiles were launched from the S-S, and the Japanese satelites shutdown.

Outer Space, High Orbit

The blue wave of EMP pulses were magnificent, it was the largets EMP missile used in action by Japan yet. It crashed into a Celtayoshian satelite, and its blue wave spread to all other satelites around it. Another missile was launched too, down into low orbit to shutdown any other satelites. If anyone still wanted to be on Japan's side and there satelite's were affected then they would have to rely on Japanese imagery.

OCC: One minor point Pyschotika, the MEF and its support fleet (listed last on my ORBAT) has not left port yet in Papau New Guinea. As I stated in the post showing my ORBAT they were having logistical problems and were not able to sail, yet. The only fleets that have made sail and left port are:

2nd Fleet (partial deployment)(Fiji)
7th Fleet (Papau New Guinea)(not attached to the MEF)

You do realize that your fleet off of Papau New Guinea has been mapped by my P-3C Orions for course, speed, and number of vessels, due to the increased air patrols and expanded defensive net we have setup? Sneaking up really isn't possible. Even though we don't know your intentions, we have been mapping all vessel traffic in open waters for several days, looking for New Caledonian commercial and military vessels.

I also have a Theater Air Defense Group protecting my Naval Base in Papua New Guinea, so shooting missiles at it won't be very effective. Now commercial ports aren't nearily as covered, FYI.

I only respond IC with what I know IC, and not what I infer from secret IC. Secondly, with up to 16 allied carrier groups in the Pacific + numerous air wings, submarines and so on, a blockade of New Caledonia is entirely possible, whether you are present are not, all we have to do is fight you for it. Thirdly, it is entirely reasonable for my government to draw up invasion plans of any nation who has not professed which side they are on, just in case they turn out on the opposing side.

So you owe me an apology.

[Papua New Guinea, Caledonia]
Hawdawg had made a rather overt entrance into the war, against Caledonia, and their consequent screens and deployments were not particularly enjoyed by Tulay Pol, or his armed forces staff. Considering the rather agressive nature of the new Caledonian army Hawdawg was going to find himself in a rather major rut when it came to an aerial or sea war with Caledonia, and although they seemed to underestimate Caledonia now, they wouldn't for long.

Airfields all over Caledonia had scrambled six squadrons of Lu-12 Canaries, meaning a total of seventy-two aircraft, as well as four squadrons of Lu-45 Hawks, amounting to another forty-eight aircraft. This was particularly smaller than what Hawdawg had in the area, but then again, it was extremely doubtful that Hawdawg would pick up the aircraft before they struck - extremely doubtful. More than that, the Caledonian pilots excelled when they fought few against many, just as they were profive over Tuvalu.

The ten squadrons cruised at subsonic velocities, namely around 600 knots, meaning that they wouldn't be giving out an infra-red signature worth being pickedup, as both featured heavy infra-red suppresants, and neither of them were going fast enough to release enough heat. They also had superb coatings of RAM, although the Lu-45 was the only one featuring the new second generation RAM; nonetheless, the Canaries carried the best RAM before the advent of the Hawk. It wasn't worth going over every stealth feature, but it was easy to say that at the altitude they were going [thirty-three meters], and at the velocity they were moving [600 knots], Hawdawg was going to be hit with their pants down.

Suddenly, the Hawks picked up velocity once they entered the radar range of Hawdawg's airborne warning and control system aircraft around the 7th Fleet, most likely composed of the heavily outdated PC-3 Orions or E-2 Hawkeyes. Unfortunately for them they had a radar range of around one hundred and fifty kilometers, while the Hawks carried missiles with a range of two hundred kilometers. Nonetheless, the Hawks waited to fire until they were just around one hundred and twenty kilometers [the Canaries are about three hundred kilometers back], and they picked up their noses, rose altitude to about three thousand meters, and released four MTAAM-3 Predator air to air VLRAAM missiles each [192]. Unshackeled from the wings they freefell for about ten meters before they picked up speed, and followed by a smoke trail in the beginning, made their way towards the moving AWACs and CAP of the 7th Fleet. The Predators calculated their targets through the radar of the Hawk, which had reversible canards which allowed it to fly one direction while pointing the other, as well as with their own miniature radar [about fifty kilometer range], and their own very advance lidar; all in all, they were an extremely accurate missile.

All the while the Hawks made their strikes, the Canaries were still around three hundred and fifty kilometers to the rear, but with Hawdawg's AWACs down their strike would be made that much more deadly. Each Canary released twelve Sledgehammer anti-shipping missiles, marking a total of eight hundred and sixty four missiles. The Sledgehammer was an interesting design, and it marked the epitome of Caledonian [Macabee] engineering. With a range of three hundred ninety-two kilometers [in this particular instance I'm firing at 350kms], they also had a velocity of Mach 3.3 as a cruise speed, and Mach 6.5 as a terminal phase velocity. How the Sledgehammer worked was that it rose altitude, very high, and then came spiralling down at an almost verticle angle to hit the ship's deck. This gave it several advantages. The first of which was the fact that any modern CIWS based off the Phalanx, Ricepicker, or Goalkeeper would not be able to engage them, simply because the CIWS did not have the angle to do so. At their terminal phase they would also be impervious to surface to air missiles, because surface to air missile batteries lacked that angle of depression as well. Not only that, but with the 7th's AWACs down they would lack a major radar net around their fleet.

The Canaries had chosen their targets with previous radar signatures, as well as reconaissance sattelite coordinates relayed to them by Japanese sattelites. Each Ocean class Carrier would receive the attention of twenty Sledgehammers [realistically, it would take only five to sink the ship], while each dreadnought would be targetted by twenty Sledgehammers [it would take the same about to sink those, than it would to sink the carriers], taking the attentin of already four hundred of the eight hundred and odd missiles. There would be also twenty missiles were battlecruiser, taking the attention of another four hundred missiles, which meant their were seventy-two missiles left. These were directed against the twenty guided missile cruisers, while the last seventeen missiles would just hit at random, hoping to cause sporadic light damage to the rest of the shipping.

The Slegdehammer's warhead was composed of a uranium tip which would provide initial kenetic energy to penetrate surface armor [which is the lowest ratings of the ship], while twenty 10kg thermite MIRVs would provide additional support for the KE penetrator as they would detach before, weakening the area of impact, allowing the KE to surely penetrate any armor out there. Then, the 500kg OctaNitroCubane warhead [the most powerful non-nuclear explosive out here, except for HpNC] would do the rest of the damage, ripping up parts of entire ships. It was an extremely well designed and powerful missile, and the 7th Fleet would feel the opening rounds of Caledonian naval vengeance.

The Canaries, at their range, didn't have to worry about any backlash, and they turned around, heading back for home, while the Hawks did so also, but at the same time keeping an eye out behind them. They would be able to turn and engage before any thing got close to them, but they needed to be at utmost advertency levels to make sure of their effeciency.

[[b]OOC: Unfortunately, your aircraft from both Fiji and Papua New Guinea are going to make it too late. You have over two thousand kilometers to traverse in any instance, and my transports are already there. Well, I guess you're going to down empty transports.]

[Pacific Airspace [Layarteb]]
Unfortunately for Layarteb they weren't fighting Yelmish; they were fighting people that had spent their days under French and then Kreynorian oppression, reknowing their military abilities, making Caledonia one of the smallest, yet most effecient militaries in the world. The B-7B Incubus Bombers had been caught within three thousand miles by the OTH-B radar stations based off Voh, and although Caledonia couldn't of hoped of intercepting those bombers, the bombers had nonetheless lost their element of suprise. Not to mention the fact that when those missiles were launched, and they entered space and the high atmosphere, they let go a huge infra-red signature to Japanese sattelites, which by now were under joint observation from Caledonia and Japan, until Japan launched another six sattelits which the Caledonians had requested them to do so.

As a consequence, all over Caledonia the Praetorian surface to air missile systems unleashed their defense. The Praetorian was an extremely verstile missile, as it could use a different warhead and rocket propulsion system to engage standard missiles, and then it could switch this out for use as an anti-ballistic missile system. This would be reiterated throughout the war, and the first case would be this one. Two batteries unleashed a full array of twenty Praetorian V/B surface to air missiles, which left a cloud of dust behind it as it escalated through the air, and then finally reaching Mach 12 to get out of the atmosphere and engage those incoming missiles.

Out of the twelve incoming missiles only three made it back into the atmosphere, and even then their power would be extremely curtailed by Caledonian preperations and such, which had been happening for months before. Unfortunately, the missiles were a outdated design for an ICBM type missile, and didn't employ corkscrew tactics, making it easy pickings for additional praetorian batteries, now firing conventional Praetorian V surface to air missiles. Out of these three missiles one hit, being an EMP ridden missile. The blast had struck a military installation, meaning that the EMP hardening using faraday cages and additional armored plating, would make the EMP blast worthless. Indeed, only two of the radars were put out, easy to repair within four hours or so, and none of the logistical centers were harmed.

The only thing Layarteb had done was put a dent in the dirt area of the airfield, and wasted Caledonian time. If they tried that again Caledonia wouldn't be so lenient to the easily observable SR-71s through sattelite reconaissance [SR-71s, with the advent of sattelites, were obsolete even in the modern world].

[Tuvalu
There were a certain element of the Celtayoshian aerial strategy that just wouldn't work. Specifically, radar jamming was wonderful when it came to radar. It could take seven minutes to burn through it, and that's all they needed. Unfortunately for them however, radar jamming did not jam lidar, and consequently, they lost their element of suprise, and they made themselves easier to engage, coming straight for the Caledonian fighters. Indeed, the group was engaged by two missiles per Celtayoshian aircraft, which would mean that the middle group would be guaranteed to be shreded to pieces.

The art of modern aircraft meant that they didn't have to 'look' in order to engage, as the Predator's angle of fire would allow a Hawk to be forty-five degrees away from an incoming aircraft and still engage it. Regardless, they were running out of missiles, although each still carried around six or seven missiles. Nonetheless, they had done their job almost perfectly.

While the Celtayoshian aircraft were preoccupied with the Hawks, the Be-23s had flown past them without lifting a finger, and flying extremely high, they made their pass over the bottom most island of the island chain, dropping the first battalion first, then making a second past, and then a third pass, dropping all of the sticks within thirty minutes of flight. The Be-23s would most likely be heavily engaged and destroyed on their return flight, but they had done their job, and now Tuvalu had been directly invaded, and it was only a matter of time before the entire island chain fell to Caledonia.

So, with that, the Hawks began to mop-up their engagement with the Celtayoshian aircraft, decided to play a little. Instead of engaging with missiles they simply pulled back further, always opening the gap between them and the Celtayoshian aircraft using their superior velocity. However, they always were close enough to keep the attention of the Celtayoshian aircraft, allowing the Be-23s to make their escape. They had also been forewarned of more foes coming from the southeast, and the Hawks would give their lives away for the Be-23s in that instance as well. It was to say, the Hawks would disengage from the Celtayoshian aircraft [which by now are most likely low on fuel, and incapable of chasing the Be-23s], and begin to engage Hawdawg's incoming aircraft. The Hawks didn't have enough fuel to make it back to Caledonia anyway, but they had inflicted fifty casualties on the enemy already [plus whatever the middle group suffered], and with their remaining missiles they would sure as hell inflict just as many casualties on the incoming Hawdawgian aircraft.

From Caledonia four more squadrons of Hawks were making their way north, and they would pick up the escort of the Be-23s, while the death watch Hawks already there would allow the Be-23s to gather range. It was an honorary strategy, and these pilots would go down as heroes for the rest of their lives.

[Tokyo, Japan]
Submerged, thirty of the one hundred and fifty planned constructed Tenerife class SSHs, left port at five knots, making their way south. They were the first constructed submarines of their kind, and now they had a chance to prove themselves in this war. They promised something no one had ever seen before; an advance submarine based on the concept of the Virginia, linked with the velocity of the Alfa, and the power of the Surcouf.

They would tear apart any fleet that dared oppose Caledonia and her policies, including the ten or so fleets of Celtayoshi. By the end of this war, neither Celtayoshi, Hawdawg or Cotland would have much of a fleet to call their own, Caledonia promised that.

Follwoing the spectacular unsuccess of the Celtayoshi Air Force in the Pacific along with the bomber aircraft to be flown down to Hawdawg are 100 COH F-104X ‘Starfighter’ multi-role fighters. These are quite truely soem of the fastest fighters around, and will be used as escorts for the bombers. Permission has been sought from Hawdawg to use station these fighters alongside the -B1s.

Tuvalu

All engaged aircraft pulled back, with the Caledonians using a rather cowardly way out and firing from range their was nothing the Celtayoshi fighters could do, except scream down their radios to design longer range missiles for next time. They pulled back to the island to try to find some usable airfields for refueling and repairs.

The remaining fighters over the Island chains were unable to prevent the landing of the invasion force. They ignored the transports, concentrating instead on the men landing onto the islands. Each time a group was clearly defined an airstrike would be called in, launching two or three air to surface missiles. The results were devestating, having only just reached the ground there was no way they could have any form of anti-air, the best they could have done was a few man-portable SAMs, but chucking rocks would have been just as useful.
Although the airfields had been targetted, four MH-53M Pave Low IVs and a couple of transport choppers did remain operational. The Pave Lows were called into finish off any zones hit by an airstrike.

Meanwhile, the army forces on the Islands had taken up positions in urban environments, hotels and such, as well as basically any cover possible. Having trained in this terrain for 8 - 12months now they were confident that they could repel the invading force. It was a case of concealment until the last possible moment, well, that and luring the enemy either into a fire-trap, or with their backs to the sea where they could not surrender.

OOC: Well, initially they will assume a blocking line along Polynesia, with roughly two Ragnarok Flight IIs, a Nimitz and about 25 cruisers, destroyers and frigates, as well as four Virginias going to Wake Island to complement the garrison of 1200 Marines there. A small squadron will also go to assist the Celtayoshians and Hawdawgians. About one carrier, a battleship and a lot of escorts.

I just noticed that I forgot to add the naval air arm. I'll add that now. Can you please list a ORBAT?

While, as of yet, we are unwilling to commit to an offensive position in this situation, we would like to offer some support to our allies. If your warships are in immediate need of a harbor or supplies, we will provide access to facilities in Koror and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The same shall go for military aircraft. Calendonian aggression in the Pacific poses a threat to our small state of Koror, and we will protect it if need be. If the situation escalates further, we may ask the Council of Twelve Sultans for a Flag Act to be passed against Calendonia.

OOC - Will post ICly tommorow, and also Hawdawg :

Yea, you may have that information but you have authorized all of your allies to dock in your ports..and well your government believes me as an ally, so really I won't necissarily come into your ports with guns blaizing but I can go ahead and dock and sabotage.

Anyways, I was innitialy going to do nothing at all earlier but fight Krey out of Caledonia then that ended and then I realized that Cotland had other reasons for sending that hunter sub at my fleet ( although had not fired it ) because he already had plans for Caledonia and or me and didn't want them ruined by my presence there. So I call this invasion of Caledonia bull shit hence for the reasons you say you are invading, but thats just me. Also, I don't see why Rome would want to invade someone who hasn't acted against him except once when sending troops into Austria to help defend Austria from a possible Roman invasion. Furthermore, these are just how I see things right now untill months have gone past and we all decide to say what we really wanted to do. And finally, I'm partially helping Caledonia ( my new name for Mac I guess.... ) because I feel it necessary to prove that I can hold out against any one or combination of you whom call one another the super powers of Earth II. And so I can capture some POWs and let them free in the jungles of Myanmar...and practice my new methods of killing...and torture...and well...a new secret weapon.

Also, yea just because I do like to consider my self mature - Sorry Celt. I DID kind of interprate your post 'incorrectly'.

Anyways, I do like you guys and I do hope the war doesn't change any mutualness oocly, or friendlyness.

OOC: Ok Psy, just so its said once and for all. That sub was in the area to protect Cottish cargo vessels carrying factory equipment and stuff to Caledonia due to the then-existing alliance between me and Mac, and your carriers were mistaken for Kreynorian carriers. If this whole thing hadn't happened, I would have RP'd that the carriers were Japaneese and left you alone, believing that you were allies. However, you misunderstood the thing, and as a result, you're facing war against me.

Also Mac, are you going to respond to the CALCMs flying towards you?

**************************

IC: The military headquarters in Tahiti was a flurry of activity, verging on the brink of chaos. The positive thing was that the majority of the naval vessels were entering Cottish territorial waters. The rebellion in the Marquis Islands had been crushed after the start of the war, with Tomahawks, CALCMs, SLAM-ERs and generally a whole lot of bombs having been dropped on the island chain. The LAMI had been decimated and morally crushed, and the remnants had surrendered to the 3rd Marine Brigade.

Right now, the commander of the Cottish Pacific Fleet, Vice Admiral Gregorius ordered a squadron consisting of two of the new Ragnarok Flight IIs, a Nimitz class carrier, five cruisers, fifteen destroyers and five frigates supported by two Kilauea class tankers and two Supply class resupply vessels to head to Wake Island to help bolster the defenses there.

Another squadron, this one consisting of three Ragnarok Flight IIs, a Odin class carrier, seven Hordaland class and ten Kubler class cruisers, eleven Devlin Flight I class and nineteen Rothsky class destroyers, four Bergen class and seven Armada class frigates, and seven Hades class submarines, supported by six Kilauea class and four Supply class resupply vessels were sent to aid the Celtayoshians and Hawdawgians.

All in all, 79 ships were dispatched to aid the allies, and 32 were dispatched to support Wake. The remaining 558 ships were ordered to form a defensive line at Polynesia, well within range of the many fighters and bombers stationed in Polynesia.

With the deployment of ships done, VADM Gregorius took a look at the latest satellite reconnisance. There were a substantial naval presence just off Caledonia, but they weren't attacking the enemy! What kind of allies were they, not helping out?

"You don't think they've shifted sides, do you sir?" the intelligence officer who presented the images asked.

"I'm not sure, but let's find out. Send an encrypted message to Tokyo, priority one."

Krey - Umm...you do realize I shut down my Satelites too after firing, and that there not on a crash course...there floating around in space un operable unless you send a crew into space.

Also if they were going to enter Earth's atmosphere then they would burn up because satelites are made up of plastic except the protective shelling right over the circuitry...basically a few heated pieces of metal would hit, and they would be smaller then a can of mountain dew.

Okay I have to call BS on you Mac:

First, your Canaries would have to carry 12 Anti-ship missiles per plane to deliver 864 missiles on target, plus a full compliment of Air-to-Air missiles for defense. If that was acceptable then they would have a radar cross-section of a school bus RAM paint or not. This load is a little much for a Modern-Tech Plane.

Second, I will give you the frontline AWACS destruction but assuming no other command/AWACS are airborne is wrong. No Fleet commander in his right mind would only use the limited capabilities of the Carrier based units when Ground-based units are available. Even with the AWACS systems down, the Radar compliment on the Ocean Class Carrier has a range of 396km, so your canaries would be showing up on the screen.

Third, to assume no fighter cover is out at 400km is wrong. It is reasonable to assume we have knowledge of your long range anti-ship capability so we would naturally be patrolling out at least to 400km. FYI, the Radar on the F-78KD Straken Sokol has the ability to track 300+ targets at 350 miles. So yeah, we can see you. I have in my arsenal the AIM-155 Block IIB missile for longe range interception (Mach 4, 298km range). And you can bet with all I just mentioned at least 6 are hanging from each F-78KD on patrol. F-78KD Straken Sokol link, here (http://s6.invisionfree.com/International_Mall/index.php?showtopic=1945)

Fourth, when your sledgehammers eventually get to the target each Ocean class carrier supports 11 40mm 18 cel MLS Mk.3 JOCIWS Units, plus I have a nice ballon canopy floating about over the fleet. Each of the other vessels with the exception of the Support Vessels has a more extensive CIWS system than the Carrier and the CIWS systems I run will traverse a full angular pattern, beyond vertical 360 degree capabilities.

So in short:

Fix the number of missiles to a realistic figure.
Assume the fighter patrol (1 squadron) sees you and engages.
I will post the destruction of the AWACS aircraft in my post following this.

250nm SE of 7th Fleet

A lone AWACS Aircraft flew its mission scowering the barren ocean below. No surface targets had shown up on the Radar. All seemed quiet too quiet. As the old airframe slowly arced towards the North the Radar Operator saw something very disturbing.

Radar Operator:"Sir, we have multiple inbounds. It looks like we are bracketed sir."

Pilot: "Damn it how many, RO?"

Radar Operator: "Sir the entire screen South of us is glowing. It looks like a computer glitch."

Pilot: "That is inbound ordinace son. Release chaff on my mark, bank 30 degree dive, three, two, one, mark. Send it in Radio, send it in!"

As the plane spiraled towards the ocean below missile after missile towards the plane. At first the chaff and EWS defeated a dozen or so rockets but there was just too many. As the plane broke up into five pieces and fell into the abyss below, the last message sent was.

"Contact, bearing NNW multiple inbounds, it missiles, oh god (static)"

[OOC:

Umm, my Canaries are designed to be large, and they're RCS isn't much of an issue considering the fact that the Canaries were escorted by Hawks. Furthermore, the Canaries aren't carrying air to air missiles - your assumption is incorrect. Your AWACs wouldn't have picked up the Canaries in the first place, because radar coverage from a fleet or AWACs at over two hundred kilometer is impossible, simply because of the horizon. So RCS or not, it doesn't matter. That part stands, and is as realistic as it gets.

That radar range on your carrier is within itself bullshit, and is evidence of your misconception of naval technology. Radars based off ships generally don't get more than one hundred kilometers coverage, because as said before, a radio wave doesn't bend over the horizon, thus the idea of OTH-B, which doesn't fit on a ship. The radar technology on your aircraft is bullshit, I'm sorry to tell you. Again, standard phased array radards don't have that range, which is specifically why I constructed an OTH-B station in Caledonia.

CIWS won't do much concerning the sledgehammer, as it won't due much when regarding Tomahawks. It's just the nature of CIWS. The CIWS platform itself can't fire at that angle, and any CIWS, no matter how effective it is, won't stop more than three missiles coming at the ship - and that's in the context of missiles like the Harpoon, not the Sledgehammer.

As for your AWACS, how can I even know? You failed to post an exact decription of your defense. That's not my fault, that's your fault for not being specific enough - and that's how roleplaying works. You said you had an AWACs, not multiple AWACs, and AWACs includes reconaissance aircraft and any fighter aircraft in the area, since both serve the prupose of Advance Warning Airborne Control.

So I suggest you carry on with the roleplay and reply. I told you guys not to underestimate me.]

Well tell the suppliers all the hardware I sport is Bullshit, because it all been developed by others: Freethinker, Soviet Bloc. So this is how this looks you are going to throw uber tech at us and say piss on our stuff. If you want links to the my tech. just ask I will provide.

OOC: Mac, do you have any form of showing us the capabilities of the equipment you're using, because you not being willing to take any casualties are looking more and more like Godmodding to me. Also, with Earth II being MT, I would very much appreciate you trying to stick to MT (IE tech up to 2020, no further). In advance, thanks.

Also, for the third time. You haven't responded to my missiles fired at your territory.

[OOC: Also, for the third time, I'm waiting for the rest to respond. All my technology is 2010, some of it 2015. If you want to take a look at here (http://forums2.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=409787) it is. My credentials are as I always say; I'm working for a PhD in aeronautical engineering, and most of my designs are based off research from books and such. I don't design my technology off Wiki, as others do.

And Hawdawg, please give me the link to your tech; and no, the responsibliity is yours for using it. I suggest you research on radar, and in fact, if you want, I'll bring you additional nations that will reinforce my argument.

EDIT: Not willing to take any casualties? Because Lay EMPd me? Probably the worst strategy he could have taken, when even in the modern world, EMP wouldh have little effect on military hardware. My fighters have taken at least a third casualties, all of them destroyed, not damaged. And that's all the damage I could have taken.]

[OOC: *Rolls eyes* It has missile guidance capabilities at that range; but not aircraft tracking with stealth features. The Wiki article leaves out a lot of information, and that's why Wiki is generally not good for designing ships and such. Surface search only gets about thirty miles on the AEGIS, while phased array gets around one hundred miles. Missile guidance and the tracking of their own missile gets around two hundred miles. But the idea that a radiation wave can travel beyond the horizon is physically impossible. Not to mention that my aircraft were at about three hundred miles distance.]

OOC: So...the ships turn off pretty much everything, like a ghost, you have to come close in to get a decent lock, an his fighters can engage, courtesy of their own radar if they switch it on, our guided by an E-2, which flies in the air (like, up in the sky, not on the ground...), so I would think it has a pretty decent range...)

With its distinctive 24-foot-diameter rotating radome and more than 12,000 pounds of sophisticated electronic equipment, the E-2C can monitor six million cubic miles of airspace and more than 150,000 square miles of ocean surface for the presence of aircraft, missiles, ships and fixed targets. For example, an E-2C, analogous in mission to the Air Force E-3 AWACS but highly automated, flying over New York City could track all the traffic in the congested Boston-to-Washington, D.C. air corridor.

[OOC: Celtayoshi, just stop. The E-2 is an AWACs aircraft, which was the entire premise of me destroying his AWACs before the Canaries got close enough to launch their missiles [ as in my Hawks flying faster and higher to engage the AWACs]. Furthermore, your entire argument says he had to scramble aircraft, which he wouldn't have time for. Moreover, the E-2 has a range of 181 miles [181 is the cubed root of 6 million], and it really depends on weather conditions, what it's tracking, and it's altitude.]

Alright just some points here:

1. Detecting the B-7B Incubus: Nope. Sorry. They have an RCS of 0.0009SF and at 20 miles it isn't easy to detect them. They're about 2,800 miles away. Sure you can detect targets out that far with OTH. These are just too stealty to be detected period, lest alone at that range.

2. The Dreamcatcher Missiles: The missiles would definitely have a large IR signature you are correct. They are flying very fast in the atmosphere as well and just like ICBMs have a sort of decoy program. The decoy program in effect basically sends out medium-range jamming transmissions that foil systems, particularly missiles shooting to intercept. This was done to go against mid-course intercept missiles. Secondly, when they come down, they come down at a seriously steep angle with the speed of a re-entering warhead. Now EMP shielding is possible, I have a lot of it. Armor plating won't do it though, you need gold plating or something of the like. EMP waves penetrate through structures like nothing, thats how they destroy batteries and such even inside buildings and stuff. It would require a lot of shielding at ground-zero to protect against the 1 megaton blast. Further out it would be much easier to resist but a 1 megaton equivalent blast of EMP is pretty powerful. On impact, the kinetic energy alone is enough to seriously mess up a target, not to mention the BLU-113 (GBU-28) warhead following (4,500 lb.).

3. Concerning AWACS Coverage: The E-3 AWACS can track targets at 320 kilometers for low-flying targets and farther for aerospace vehicles flying at medium to high altitudes. AWACS aircraft are up there in the 30,000 to 40,000 foot altitude area because of the horizon, that is why they see so far. E-2 Hawkeyes operate a little lower because they are propellar driven but they can still see 300 kilometers away. Yes you are right, radar doesn't bend over the horizon, it just keeps going straight. The real-life OTH-B could definitely target enemy bombers well over the horizon and at extreme ranges but these were Soviet bombers, which had an RCS no smaller than that of a 747 Jumbo Jet. These will have a minimum range though. The RL OTH-B goes from 900 kilometers to 3,300 kilometers. So you need to have some serious radar coverage within that minimum range to cover out to 900 kilometers, which is pretty far. Ground based stations can go out to 500 kilometers, maybe with serious maximum power, which leaves 400 kilometers of unopen airspace. Now if you have AWACS up and out at range you can definitely see it but that's definitely vulnerable.

4. Missile Interception: Yes CIWS has a problem reaching up at steep angles and it lacks range. That is why the RAM was definitely in a way, because its missiles can do some amazing things. They are also coming down pretty fast, making them that much harder to intercept. The Sledgehammers come down at Mach 6.5 in terminal phase, which is just under 5,000 mph. Yes that's possible. Now to say that they can't be intercepted is bullshit because apparently you intercepted my missiles coming down at 15,000 miles per hour, so no way there. There are ways to make CIWS counter vertical threats though, it is just difficult.

Also I just want to know how the hell is it that you just conquered Caledonia what a week ago and suddenly you are so massive. I mean we all took time to build shit up unless this was a sudden fast forward of a few years, which, to be honest, I haven't seen.

From what I can see he's in MT range, which goes to 2020. I don't see any real PMT, just overconfidence in his stuff. There are a few problematic things (i.e. intercepting everyone's missiles but not his, detecting ultra stealthy a/c at long-ranges, etc). You do state that "The Lu-45 is a fully modern [post-modern] design." I am a bit confused. Is it modern or post-modern.

I think the real problem more or less was the lack of development. When you said f the nation history I was like okay but I didn't realize to the extent that you were going to forego development.

A real problem though that I have is that I am so busy I honestly can't be that active in this thread... :(

Incorrect, RCS doesn't matter when you're using OTH, simply because you're detecting from the top, not from the bottom or from the side. It is to say, Brewster's Angles have less of an influence when using OTH.

2. The Dreamcatcher Missiles: The missiles would definitely have a large IR signature you are correct. You have an obvious misunderstanding on electro-magnetic pulses. Gold plating won't do much, but faraday cages will do almost everything you need it to do when it comes to avoiding EMP blasts. Trust me, I've spent the last two years researching EMP waves simply because on W@W they're used almost like toys.

As for the ICBMs, jamming won't matter, because my ABM missiles are guided by Japanese sattelites, radar and infa-red lidar. Meaning, jamming will take out 1/3 of the problem. ICBMs are generally bad ideas without nuclear warheads, because you're going to lose a lot of them.

Ground based radar depends on the where the missiles are coming from, but if they're high enough they can detect up to a thousand kilometers; it's just a matter on where the horizon is.

Regardless, the E-2 and E-3 absolutely do not have that range. That was the problem during the Cold War when trying to catch small Soviet shipping. Furthermore, again, you're talking about relative ranges. In no way will a Hawkeye catch a stealth fighter going at subsonic velocties three hundred and fifty kilometers away, it just won't happen. And again, you guys are completely missing the point. The Hawks put his AWACs down so he wouldn't an AWACs anyways.

On terms of radar and avionics, that's my doctorate, and I'm telling you, you're not going to get that range with an AWACs aircraft unless it's target is flying very low - as in, sea-skimmers.

I didn't say they couldn't be interecepted, I said CIWS couldn't intercept them. Of course they can be intercepted. They can be intercepted from over three hundred kilometers away if you have the right surface to air missiles. But keep in mind that ICBMs are a lot easier to intercept than manuevarable missiles.

Also I just want to know how the hell is it that you just conquered Caledonia what a week ago and suddenly you are so massive. I mean we all took time to build shit up unless this was a sudden fast forward of a few years, which, to be honest, I haven't seen.

? You obviously never read the thread. I spent two weeks building up in the thread to kick out Kreynoria, and then spent another week building up a bit more. Furthermore, so big? I've used twelve fighter squadrons in this war so far, as compared to the thousands of aircraft used by my enemies and the hundreds of warships. You're in no position to say that I have too large an army.

From what I can see he's in MT range, which goes to 2020. I don't see any real PMT, just overconfidence in his stuff. Depends on what people say is post-modern and what is modern. I find it a modern desing because it uses real systems. However, it does have a bit more advances in terms of radiation absorbent material, but for the most part its a 2010 design. Which I consider PMT.

1. Yes OTH does tag the top. The B-7 takes that into account. The top RCS is much lower than any average plane built. I designed it to be highly stealthy (i.e. why the RCS is so slow). That takes into account all measures of cross-section and angles. Obviously it won't be 0.0009sf from the top. It's less than the F-22 from the top because of the way the paint is done.

2. I know a little about those cages. Can they really withstand the EMP surge from a one megaton warhead though? We're talking a big impulse. ICBMs nuclear or conventional aren't much different. The only difference is that a nuclear ICBM doesn't have to be as accurate and it air bursts. A conventional warhead comes down and has to hit the target, especially a penetrating one. Intercepting it is just as hard as intercepting a nuclear warhead.

3. I have to go with the published ranges on the E-3 and the E-2. You may be going with a doctorate but published ranges on it are what I go by, unless you can point me to something else.

4. ICBMs are because they fly a predictable path. But as far as I can tell, nobody fired an ICBM.

5. All of these nations have developed this stuff over time. Three weeks is not much time at all. I am just trying to figure out how you have these uber-kickass ABMs, awesome OTHs, fantastically amazing A/C, and all of that after 3 weeks. I didn't say anything about size. Basically the level of that mil you have is more advanced than nations that have been in E2 for a long time. The speed and pace was my point, not numbers.

6. I originally stated 2010 for MT and above for PMT but I found a general consensus that PMT went to 2020 so I moved that one over.

RAM used on all modern aircraft and the paint doesn't absorb OTH-B radar waves. It's designed to absorb radar whaves from 30 to 60 MHz. While OTH-B releases 3 to 30 MHz.

2. I know a little about those cages. Can they really withstand the EMP surge from a one megaton warhead though? We're talking a big impulse. ICBMs nuclear or conventional aren't much different. Well, the EMP blast doesn't work in megatons, it works in the amount of energy it emits, because basically it's a sudden surge of energy that is meant to destroy all electronics; like a thunderbolt hitting your house. Using that example, if a thunderbolt hits your car, nothing is going to happen, because cares are designed as cheap faraday cages. Simply said, it cannot be pierced by a huge electrical wave due to physical qualities.

3. I have to go with the published ranges on the E-3 and the E-2. You may be going with a doctorate but published ranges on it are what I go by, unless you can point me to something else.

However, as I've said before, those published ranges give you one maximum range. They don't explain to you how weather, altitude, and application effect this range; that's the problem with 'tabloid' sources on the internet.

4. ICBMs are because they fly a predictable path. But as far as I can tell, nobody fired an ICBM.

Aren't your missiles ICBMs since they entered space? When they're in Space they're not going to manuever because you're going to need an outside source to manuever them [thrust vectoring is fine in this case]. My ABM systems didn't shoow them down on their way down, they shot them while they were in space.

5. All of these nations have developed this stuff over time. Three weeks is not much time at all. The OTH was done through a series of posts. I have one OTH station in Voh, and I built that in the thread, detailing it. The aircraft, again, I have around three hundred total. The advancement of my nation has nothing to do with time; I just understand systems than most E2 nations; so regardless of how long other E2 nations were here, I would most likely still have better technology than them, because I understand how to use simple technology so that it sounds as if it was the best technology.

1. I know the waves on OTH. I've worked to re-engineer that too to incoprate more wave lengths. I am also working to cover the gap between OTH minimum and ground based maximum. Yes I use OTH-B myself. I just do not acknowledge it to be exactly that. I call it Anti-Stealth System and it includes other items as well.

2. So the EMP blast of a one megaton nuclear weapon will not be more than that of a one kiloton weapon? I don't use one megaton as the level just the equivalency of a one megaton warhead.

3. Of course weather and such affects it, altitude affects it, speed affects it, air temperature affects it, etc. All of that affects it. But to say that his AWACS are incapable of doing what the RL ones do in certain conditions is pretty bold. You've basically trashed everyone's stuff here and glorified your own. No problem, no harm in that. But give them a break.

4. ICBM is an incontinental ballistic missile. ICBMs travel from continent to continent. Yes my missiles entered space but they aren't ICBMs. They are, by definition, ALBM (Air-Launched Ballistic Missiles) and unlike ICBMs, they don't need to fly a straight path to the target in order to hit it. Thrust-vectoring is used. There's no way I could have a missile that fast that accurate without thrust vectoring.

5. Usually in a three week period a nation is still trying to stablize lest go through all of that.

My asshole professor delayed class from 6 to 730...argh...anyhow...can we just get rolling with this? I mean I honestly can't be around to RP in this effectively, this week is hell and I have a lot due for next week so who knows.

There is no engineered paint that will help with OTH; it was just happistance that black paint absorbed radio waves in the first place. I use a better RAM on my GLI-34 Albatross, which I haven't introduced into Earth II, specifically because of point # 4.

I'll have to go over this with a professional. I can get a hold of him in the morning since he lives in Australia, but I'll get back to you on this, either tomorrow, or the day after tomorrow.

You're missing the point. The Hawks were launching their air to air missiles at an effective range of one hundred and fifty kilometers [using a SCRAMjet engine with a NiAl cover; there is way to easily make my missiles ineffective, but I'm not going to go over that - it's an aerial tactic, and it's a problem I overlooked in the design of the Predator]. The Canaries were launching at 350kilometers. I targetted his AWACs. Even if not all his AWACs was hit they would go offline, meaning that he would not have AWACs to detect the Sledgehammers.

At that velocity, unless you're in space, you're not going to be able to move period. Your missile will burn up. It takes about Mach 12 to enter space for a missile. At Mach 6+ you're missil will burn up, which is why I specifically made the Sledgehammer to hit Mach 6 on its terminal phase, since it's moving downwards and doesn't necessarilly have to manuever at that point [the ship won't have time to 'move out of the way'].

OOC: Just so that it is said, and I'm sure that all the players will agree. This is NS, not RL, and therefore I feel that while realism is fine, it shouldn't be completely 1000 % realistic if it's ruining an RP that seems like it can turn out to be a good one. All this bickering and Macs apparent unwillingness to accept losses, combined with his complete dissing of our weaponry are degenerating this RP. The way I see it, the only way we (as in the defending forces) can be able to inflict any kind of damage is through the use of strategic nuclear weapons. Does it really have to come to that? Please, stop dissing our tech and strategies, and stop glorifying your own tech Mac, and for fucks sake, accept some goddamned losses. Please. This is verging very much on the border of Godmod in my eyes. Please, let's just get this RP going. There. It's been said.

OOC: Since we aren’t getting anywhere with the bickering, and since you haven’t commented on my tech links I provided, I assume your comment about my tech. being BS still stands. For the record I don’t have a degree in Aviation or Aeronautics or whatever the heck you claimed, my degree is in another field and I merely post here for a distraction. I do not spend countless hours pouring over books for information to utilize on NS. I use the web for my research, as most everyone else that participates here does. Now you can tell us our research, etc. is flawed but I really could care less. Your opinion, just like mine is like an asshole, everyone has one and no two are the same.

I participate in this RPing stuff for fun. I don’t live or die with what is written. Now lets get on with this, fair warning, do not talk down to me, tell me my stuff is shit or behave in a condescending way. I have only asked you to post realistic things and you have done nothing but tell me how screwed up my tech is or how impossible it is for me to be able to do this or that. If you don’t like Earth II, you don’t have to stay here.

7th Fleet

As the sun came up to the East the proud ships of the 7th Fleet pushed south. Contact with the AWACS cover had been down for some time and Rear Admiral Spears was concerned. Two squadrons of F-78KD’s were scrambled to investigate the last known location of the missing E-2. As the last plane lifted off the Ocean Class deck, CIWS began to trigger action alarms. All the vessels in the fleet began to survey the sky. Of most concern were the Capital Warships. Each Carrier, Cruiser and Battleship had a network of six barrage balloons floating 400 feet overhead. Between the balloons laid out in a square formation a thin Kevlar net floated in the breeze. These nets would activate shaped charges that would damage a falling projectile should one try and penetrate the net. Hopefully the nets would provide some protection.

With very little warning, missiles began to rain down on the Fleet. As missile after missile fell on the Big ships it was obvious the onslaught was too great. The defensive net offered initial protection but simply too many missiles fell on target. When the smoke cleared from the attack, only one Ocean Class Carrier remained operational with combat damage. This blow to the Fleet would be hard to overcome.

Damage:

3 Ocean Class Carriers sunk
1 Ocean Class Carrier on fire (inoperable)
1 Ocean Class Carrier operational with battle damage
5 Ragnarok Battleships sunk
7 Ragnarok Battleships dead in water
3 Ragnarok Battleships operational with battle damage
20 Oyoda Class Battlecruisers sunk
10 Centaur-X Destroyers sunk
10 Centaur-X Destroyers heavy battle damage
20 Centaur-X Destroyers operational with battle damage
5 Anakara Class Guided Missile Cruisers sunk
15 Anakara Class Guided Missile Cruisers operational with battle damage
15 Berlin Class Land Attack Cruisers sunk
5 Berlin Class Land Attack Cruisers operational with battle damage
10 Ardent Class Frigates with heavy battle damage
10 Ardent Class Frigates sunk
20 Ardent Class Frigates operational with battle damage

Air Battle (close to Tuvalu)
While the 7th Fleet smoldered, the Caledonian transports were now within range of the Hawdawg fighter patrol. At the two hundred-fifty km distance each plane unleashed one AIM-155 missile towards the Be-23 transports, some 96 missiles tore through the sky seeking out the enemy planes. The maximum range of the AIM-155 was 270km, so the launch was well within the limits and transports were an easy target.

As the wire came in of the destruction of the 7th Fleet, Defense Minister Wells was visibly shaken.

DM Wells: "Have the MEF at Papua New Guinea and Fiji disembark and establish a defensive position. Keep the remaining Fleet in port. Our outer sub net and suspended mines will keep the enemy's silent service out of the port. Scramble the bomber's protocol ABLE, GAMMA, ELEVEN."

OOC: I hate to add to the chatter, but to put in something that hasn't been said is that Mac, you're on Caledonia. You're not on Australia, or New Zealand or any other larger island. You have no room to base extensie military supplies unless the Caledonians don't need to eat. Furthermore, you are completely surrounded by myself, Kreynoria and Celtayoshi in what is becoming an even bigger siege. The way I see it, simple attrition and this war is finished. It doesn't matter how advanced your tech is because the truth is on Caledonia you don't have a lot of room to house it, and once those supplies run out or the food does- whatever comes first- frankly, you are toast.

The Cottish Navy was now at the area in force, and now it was time to add the Cots to the party. At exactly 0430 hours, the Cottish expeditionary task force passed fifty nautical miles south of the islands which made up Tonga, and they were now officially in the area of operations.

The Odin class carrier was in a group along with a Hordaland, four Kublers, three Devlins, four Rothskys, a Bergen and a Armada. A Hades lurked in the area of the carriers while the Ragnaroks and remaining escorts had split into three identical groups of one Ragnarok, two Hordalands, three Kublers, three Devlins, three Rothskys, a Bergen and a Armada each, with a Hades each as an escort. The other subs acted independently, while the remaining six Rothskys and three Armadas escorting the resupply vessels a bit further back. The groups maintained a distance of thirty nautical miles from each other on each side,

Right now, it was a bit early for air operations, but the Imperial Cottish Navy would get their planes up and about in about an hour, at first light. For now, the ships steamed at full steam for a location twenty nautical miles off Fiji. The Cottish ships carried a full load of missiles, including RGM-109E and RGM-109F Advanced Tomahawk cruise missiles, RGM-84L Harpoons, RIM-161B SM-3ERs and RIM-162E ESSMs, not to mention the RIM-116C RAM and RIM-201 Gaupe close defense missiles (OOC: The RIM-201 Gaupe is a highly classified joint production between myself and Layarteb, and as such not known to you guys ICly.). The Mk-99 CWIS systems would also help counter any incoming missiles. All in all, the Cottish warships carried a healthy load of missiles and ammunition for the cannons, and they had one goal at mind. The protection of their close allies! ETA to Fiji was expected to take place in less than 24 hours.

Open address to the Nations of the World

Following the cowardly attack on our beautiful tourist islands in the magnificant Pacific Ocean we encourage all nations to cease trade in all forms to Caledonia. It is our intention to force them into defeat by using a combination of military force and to turn support for the war in Caledonia around, into a deep loathing of their government.
As such Directive 793 shall be implemented. It is our intention to seek out and destroy any merchant vessel of the Caledonian Merchant Fleet. We encourage our allies to do the same.
Officials are still working on the civilian death toll following the attacks, but we estimate up to 476 may have been killed.

Manama-We have heard of Calendonia's dastardly attack in the Pacific. Unfortunately, any chance of us helping Cotland, Rome, or other nations was lost when rebels attacked our base in Koror. However, if the Calendonians do not lay down their arms within twenty-four (24) hours, we will pass a flag act against them, and propose a full Middle East Stability Coalition Embargo. We control much of the world's oil supply, which would be denied to them, as well as the many other products our nations provide.

Air War, Tuvalu
The rouge designed by the remnants of the Lu-45 had not worked. Instead of engaging the thirty or so remaining Hawks, Hawdawg's fighters had engaged, instead, the Be-23 Transport Aircraft. The result both favoured and failed to favour the current military disposition of Caledonia in this war. There were one hundred and fifty Be-23s flying back home, and their engagement defenses beeped as soon as those AIM-155 missiles entered within one hundred twenty kilometers of the Hawks. The Hawks had put themselves between Hawdawg's aircraft and the Be-23s, yet Hawdawg had insisted on engaging the Be-23s, consequently, the Hawks would simply use that to their advantage.

While the AIM-155s continued to pour down towards the Be-23s, the thirty Hawks, already depleted in fuel, decided to lighten their load a bit, and see if they could return home after all. Each Hawk, left with only around five air to air missiles a piece, launched three MTAAM-3 Predator air to air missiles each, putting a total of one hundred and eight in the sky. The Predators shrieked off, leaving a clear smoke trail behind them, as they raised altitude and entered the high toposphere. They would fall back down, on top of the positions of the incoming Hawdawgian fighters, using their own radar and lidar to track said aircraft and blast them out of the sky. Seconds after launch, the Hawks banked and raised altitude, leaving the enemy with little of a radar signature on the Hawks.

All the while, the Be-23s began to manuever for their life. They had very little chance to survive the incoming air to air missiles, but at a range of over two hundred kilometers, one missile per aircraft simply wouldn't do the job. There were several reasons why; the main reason was that the missile was not guaranteed a radar lock for that range, and while the fighter may have that radar range, the missile certainly did not, meaning if the fighter was put under pressure, and forced to manuever, it would lose track of its engagement, and consequently, what it had engaged would go off scotfree. More than that, the Be-23s began to dispense chaff to confuse radar and lidar, as well as flared to give off high infra-red signatures.

Nonetheless, casualties were high, with over sixty-seven Be-23s knocked out the sky; their crews dead. Another seven were damaged, but the rugged aircraft would make it home. The Be-23s would fly for about another twenty minutes before the second flight of Hawks made it to escort them, while the first flight of Hawks, already depleted, continued to engage the surviving aspects of Hawdawg's aircraft in the region.

Tuvalu
The Celtayoshian ground combat personnel on the southernmost island of Tuvalu had all ran to defensive positions in the urban centers of the island. However, as pertaining to contruction on islands such as these, the 'urban centers' were small tourist locals, normally composed of one or two hotels, a restaurant, and a small civilian airfield, which by this time had been severely pumelled by the opening bombardments coming from Caledonia's airforce.

Consequently, the fifteen thousand airborne personnel on the southernmost island would find it easy to isolate and destroy the small Celtayoshian detachment on the island, and consequently, they would be able to fortify it, and turn into a foward base for future Caledonian actions in the region, including the seizure of all islands in the Tuvalu archipelago.

The Celtayoshian airforce in the region, however, had not kept quiet, although they severel underestimated the potential of the airborne regiments landing in Tuvalu. Those carrying it immediately turned their SA-33 Wraiths manportable surface to air missile launchers on the incoming aircraft, attempting to harass the landing zones. At least two Wraiths were launched per incoming aircraft, using their flechette style high explosive warheads to cause maximum damage within a large zone of explosion. Nonetheless, missiles were able to strike at landing zones, killing dozens, however, the effects of two or three missiles were not necessarilly grave when considering that the entire force numbered fifteen thousand. Maximum, perhaps around sixty or seventy soldiers died in the airstrikes, but it was well worth the damage done to capture an island.

While the ground forces and the enemy airforces dueled, the three regiments had sorrounded the 'urban center', and began to use their heavy 120mm mortars, and air portable and package-able, 105mm light howitzers on the buildings, opting to just tear them down under heavy shelling from point blank range, as opposed to attempting to capture them by sending infantry. Those men on the island would find themselves out of food and out of ammunition if they failed to surrender to Caledonian personnel.

Caledonian Naval Facilities and Air Fields
The radar operator rubbed his eyes and yawned. A war was raging, but Caledonia itself has seen little of it except for a halfhearted attempt to put it out of business by Layarteb. Regardless, things were due to begin on the island any time now, as Caledonia's fleet was still not prepared in Tokyo, save for a few submarines pulling into the South Pacific, and Caledonia's enemies were intent on stopping its expansion throughout the Pacific. He turned to take another sip of his energy drink, but as he gulped it down he saw forty-eight figures appear on his OTH-B radar screen, and he spat the drink back out, all of a sudden awake needless to say. Pressing a comm buttom he began to relay the information,"Incoming missiles, over. Long range cruise missiles."

Immediately, the island's defenses went into action. The fixed Praetorian batteries turned using their heavy set hydraulics, launching an array of twenty Praetorian missiles within the first wave. The Praetorians were extremely accurate surface to air missiles, and if these incoming cruise missiles were being launched from over three thousand kilometers distance it would mean their trajectory would be straight, or else they would lack the fuel to make the voyage at that range; it also meant that they were pretty huge missiles, and most likely slow and bulky when manuevering, if they did. Engaging, the Praetorians tore apart some of them, but obviously it wasn't enough, especially since there were more incoming missiles as opposed to outgoing. Regardless, a second wave of the same number reduced the number of incoming cruise missiles as well, nonetheless, they still came.

As they approached a range of somewhere near thirty kilometers from target, the anti-air artillery guns began to open fire, using calibers anywhere from 75mm to 155mm. The guns fired their rocket propelled CAPMES rounds, which would disperse thousands of tungsten balls in all directions in a disposal MetalStorm canister. Still, they kept coming.

The final damage toll was four of the missiles hit a small Celedonian port, but unfortunately, since Caledonia failed to have any martial ports, Cotland's attack had been a large wast of money. Another missile had hit an airfield, however, the damage that did on the runway, or on some of the armored hangars, was more or less not worth noting, except a couple of destroyed combat air patrol aircraft. The biggest tragedy was the fact that at least sixty civilians were killed as a result of that cowardly attack.

Tuvalu

The ground forces battled on, they had had time to lay numerous minefields, albiet poorly constructed and badly placed. The soldiers began responding with their own heavy mortor fire. Concentrating on anything that could do damage to air units. They also began a scorched earth policy, destroying anything that would be of use to Caledonia.
Everyone knew the island could last no longer than two days at this present rate. However, cut off from the world, Caledonia would starve. The Tonga Carrier Battlegroup was only a day out of position, and closing rapidly. Upon reaching the island they would blatently ignore the Caledonians, instead focusing on any other ships or aircraft trying to reach the island. The attack on Tuvalu had seriously dented the Caledonian Air Force, near suicidal moves on the part of the CYAF had all but destroyed the aggressor air force. With no navy to speak of Caledonia could have no Naval Air Force, and the small island of Caledonia meant it would be limited in the number of airfields it could maintain, if it still wanted to house its population. Intelligence reports placed the number of paved airfields at as low as 20.
As for getting the island back, well, there were plans afoot to make the Caledonia stay short, and uncomfortable...

Air War over Tuvalu

The downing of forward AWACS was of concern to the Hawdawg Air Force. The loss of this unit had left the 7th Fleet open to a devastating attack. This lack of respect for the 300km missile had cost many lives. With this in mind, CENTCOM LIMA issued a directive that no less than four E-3’s be in the air performing overlapping surveillance, and should one go down, the overlapping nature of the pattern would expose the enemy positions for attack. In addition an EC-130H Compass Call was to be dispatched with all E-3’s to ensure survivability in case enemy planes were engaged. The unique capabilities of the Compass Call allowed it to disrupt enemy communications and confuse incoming enemy missiles with numerous radar jamming tools. The Compass Call also had a system designed to track and if necessary guide missiles to target in the combat area. With satellite data-links temporarily down, the EC-130’s service would be even more pressing.

South of Tuvalu an E-3 AWACS and EC-130 Compass Call were already in the air patrolling behind the Yard Dog Air Wing. As an added precaution a small air support squadron from the partially deployed fleet from Fiji escorted these aircraft. The electronic capabilities of this airframe reached far beyond Tuvalu, so any ground communications and radar guided anti-aircraft units would be rendered useless. At best, shoulder fired heat-seeking missiles would be the only thing usable by the Caledonian Airborne.

The Yard Dog Wing flew along observing the destruction the Dice Man Wing was inflicting on the enemy transport planes. Several were disappearing from the radar screen. More ominous was the multiple contacts inbound on the Dice Man Squadrons. As early detection devices began to tone in the cockpits electronic countermeasures kicked in. Chaff pods, and flares began to fly as several F-78’s took evasive measures to avoid the incoming missiles. Of the compliment of 96 planes, six met a fiery end as the missiles found there mark. More importantly the enemy fighters had tipped there hand. Now they were effectively sandwiched between two fighter squadrons, backed up by a compliment of AWACS surveillance and Electronic Jamming. When the enemy fighters climbed to altitude the Yard Dog Wing matched altitude and increased speed to close on the target. As the remaining Dice Man group climbed, they gained tone and unleashed two AIM-155’s each towards the enemy planes. With a banking maneuver the Yard Dog Wing closed to 200km while the enemy engaged the Wing below and unleashed two AIM-155’s on target from each of the 96 planes. A total of 192 AIM-155’s from above and 180 AIM-155’s from below screamed towards the 30 enemy planes.

Secret Message to our Allies Layarteb, Cotland, Celtayoshi

We have initiated Protocol ABLE, GAMMA, ELEVEN. This Protocol authorizes the use of tactical nuclear weapons. We are currently looking at our options, and pending our Cruise Missile strike on hard targets in Caledonia, we will make the decision on the use of nuclear weapons. We wish to coordinate a strike on Caledonia with our allies to assure a saturation of the target area and overwhelm the air defenses on the island. We are going to launch no less than 6712 Mk.72 Cruise Missiles from the remnants of the 7th Fleet into Caledonia at 1900 hours local time, along with a coordinated launch of 880 ACLM's from Bomber's out of Papua New Guinea. We would ask that your armies in the area would assist us in this matter by putting as much ordinance in the air at this time as possible. Small uncoordinated attacks won’t do much to a well defended stronghold, but overwhelming numbers cannot be defended against.

------------------------------------
Remains of the 7th Fleet

With a majority of the fleet out-of-service various support vessels were dispatched form Fiji to bring the vessels that could be salvaged back to port for repair. The large Naval Yard in Fiji bristled at the job ahead, but they were placed on the island for just that reason. In the War Games scenario played out in 1985 a catastrophic event similar to the losses suffered in the 7th Fleet was played out, and surprisingly the Dry Dock facilities received high marks for returning vessels to combat status in record times. An event like this had never been tested in real-life, but Command was confident they would come through in such a time of need.

As the vessels that remained under power stood guard over the removal of ships to the Fiji Naval Restoration Facilities, the Commander of the 7th Fleet received his orders. They were simple Protocol ABLE, GAMMA, ELEVEN had been issued. Every available Long Range Missile in the remaining flotilla would be launched, since the fleet would have to return to Fiji to re-equip anyway. Sirens sounded as the doors covering the Mk.72 MRVLS Missile tubes on the Ships began to open. Each vessel bristled with these missiles ready to strike back at the Caledonian’s. At 1900 hour’s local time, the coordinated attack began.

As the 7th Fleet readied for a launch the 701st and 703rd Bomber Wing took of in Papua New Guinea. Each Wing consisted of 22 modified B-52H’s designed to carry 20 AGM-86 ALCM’s. At a predetermined position well out of Caledonian Range, all 44 Bombers released 880 AGM-86 ALCM’s to coincide with the 7th Fleet launch. Of these 880 missiles 100 were dedicated to the OTH-B Radar Stations off Voh. The plan was simple put Caledonia’s Radar in the Dark. Sprinkled within these missiles were 4 AGM-86’s with W-80-0 nuclear warheads of the 200kt. Range. A simple over site by an ordinance crew on the ground had loaded these munitions by mistake.

The lone Ocean Class Carrier launched first, as some 288 Mk.72’s came to life streaking out of there holds bound for pre-plotted GPS designated targets in Caledonia. The Ragnarok Class Battleships were next, each of the three operational ships left fired 48 of the older Tomahawk variants for a total of 144 missiles out-bound. The 20 Centaur-X Guided Missile Cruisers were next firing a total of 2280 missiles out-bound. The 20 remaining Anakara and Berlin Cruisers were next firing 3440 missile on target. The 20 Ardent Frigates were last firing 560 missiles towards Caledonia. A total of 6712 Mk72’s and Tomahawk Cruise Missiles from the 7th Fleet began there journey towards targets in Caledonia. A total 7592 Cruise Missiles moved down range on plotted targets in Caledonia. Of most importance were the Anti-Aircraft facilities, EWS, Airfields and the hardened bunkers, ammunition storage and fuel storage facilities located in and around these facilities. The missiles were fired in a pattern to confuse the Early Warning Radar. An EC-130 Compass Call and E-3AWACS was also working over the top of the 7th Fleet to mask and confuse the EWR on Caledonia.

Secret Message to Allies, Layarteb, Cotland, Hawdawg, Rome + others

Following the Hawdawg Missile Strike we feel it important that our vast arsenals in the Pacific be dispatched effectively. Hence, we co-ordinate the following:

1 - A general blockade of Tuvalu
2 - A counter-invasion of Tuvalu
3 - A general blockade of New Caledonia
4(i) - The consistent bombardment of Caledonia
4(ii) - A large-scale invasion of Caledonia
5 - The sinking of Caledonian merchant vessels
6 - Setup of a Pacific Ocean Reaction Force

Details:

1 - The Celtayoshi Navy will have in place three carrier battle groups to enforce a tight blockade around the Tuvalu Island Chain within 36 hours. Our Tonga Carrier Force is the closest Navy Taskforce to Tuvalu, and will be in place by morning. Shortly after this another two carrier groups will join Tonga group. Hence, we will have total ariel domination over the island, as well as at sea. This will deny the Caledonians vital supplies, and preventing them from using Tuvalu as a base for aircraft against other Pacific holdings of Celtayoshi, or yourselfs.

2 - The Celtayoshi Marines stationed on Tonga will be bolstered in two days time by the arrival of 10,000 more Marines. Our total Marine deployment will be 20,000. We shall use these to regain control of the Island Chain. This shall be complemented by the consistant bombardment of the islands by -B1 bombers stationed on Fiji, and the use of cruise missiles and some land based missile systems based on Kiribati. We are fortunate enough to have the forces in place to retake the islands without direct assistance. However, points 3 through to 6 indicate the cover we feel best to achieve our aims of total defeat of Caledonia with mininmal casulties, and to prevent any serious Caledonian attempts to stop us retaking the islands.

3 - The island of New Caledonia is currently protected by the Pyschotika Navy. We are classing their stance as neutral-enemy. Therefore we feel it prudent not to engage them at the moment. Instead, it is our belief that a second perimiter be established around Caledonia, one which is controlled by ourselves. Using this we can starve the Caledonians of the resources necessary to maintain a long term war. [Intelligence Note: Thermal Imaging suggests a large deployment of submarines near Japan, we have been unable to identify the nature of these vessels, and as such recomend vigilence]. Such a blockade will require our cominded efforts, and we need to know exactly how your commanders feel this could be best approached. Recomend maximum speed.

4(i) - A policy of bombing the Caledonians into submission has been debated by the Celtayoshi Air Force, we await the results of the Hawdawg missile strike with interest, and seek to determine the possibility of using allied long range bombers for such attacks.

4(ii) - It is important to the Premier and our nation that Caledonia be completely crippled for its unprovoked attack on Celtayoshi territory. Although an invasion of Caledonia goes beyond the duty of yourselves as allies we would be deeply thankful if you could examine the possibility, and report back on the ability to carry out such a task.

5 - This will form part of the blocade of Caledonia, it is the policy of Celtayoshi that during war any ship bringing supplies to the enemy nation must be intercepted and destroyed / forced to surrender at once. We feel it is vital that Caledonian trade routes be shut off at once.

6 - Finally, if possible we would like to set up a reaction force for the Pacific for the duration of this conflict. Its purpose would be to deploy to areas that require assistance due to 'unexpected levels of resistance.' In essence this would be the reserve force, whose presence could serve as a moral boost to our men, knowing that for all Caledonia's efforts we still ahe some forces left over in spare.

Secret Message to Celtayoshi, Layarteb, Cotland, RomeW, and all other allies

Currently, our 7th Fleet will have to regroup in Fiji. We lost several key vessels in the group and our dry dock facilities are working to bring as many ships back into service as possible. Our assistance in the blockade of Caledonia will have to come from our Silent Service. We have deployed roughly half of our submarine fleet based in Fiji to waters off of Papau New Guinea to offer protection to the 7th MEF and help isolate the projected travel routes of enemy vessels. We have a small Task Force that has sailed to Tuvalu and can assist with shore bombardment, provided your air cover is present.

We have taken the liberty of drawing up assault plans for New Caledonia and the 8th MEF in Fiji would be our Premier Force for handling such a task. Each MEF in Hawdawgian Marine Service has its own attachment of Aircraft Carriers, Shore Bombardment Ships, Heavy Cruisers and support vessels separate and apart from our regular naval fleet. They can sail on Caledonia with 48-72 hours notice.

In short, we offer half of our submarine fleet for blockade duty of Caledonia, and the 8th MEF in Fiji for assault duties on Caledonia or Tuvalu if needed. A small Task Force will be off the coast of Tuvalu shortly and they are more than willing to begin shelling targets of opportunity in the enemy occupied zones.

"We shall assist in the missile strike, and fire a substantial amount of missiles timed to penetrate Caledonian defenses at the same time as your missile will. God be with us!"

Imperial High Command

*****************

Deep below the waves of the Pacific Ocean, a single Vengeance class SSBN cruised calmly, hidden from the outside world. This submarine was the benchmark of technology, although its existance was denied. This weapon of mass destruction was a joint October Alliance product, and therefore classified Top Secret. In the launch tubes, this beast carried ten UGM-133 Tridend SLBMs, as well as sixteen UGM-109N Tomahawk cruise missiles fitted with W-105 warheads, each with a yeald of 200 kT. Naturally this wasn't all it carried. In the launch tubes, it also carried seventy conventional Tomahawks, all of them in the UGM-109E Tactical Tomahawk configuration. Now, the übersilent submarine, übersilent thanks to a unique propulsion system designed by Soviet Bloc, rose to the surface and prepared to fire all seventy conventional Tomahawks against Caledonia. The Vengeance class sub was a little over 900 nautical miles from Caledonia, well within the 972 nautical mile range of the upgraded Tomahawk. At the given time, the sub rose to 20 meters below the waves and started the launch sequence, with the launch doors opening, revealing the missile-cannisters inside. It would be a little over two minutes before the sub could float back into the deep again, well aware that it had done its part in the mission.

Also in the Pacific, the task force off Fiji turned around and started firing missiles. All in all, the ships carrying Tomahawks fired off 390 more RGM-109E Tactical Tomahawks against Caledonia. The Cottish missiles were all armed with a WDU-36/C blast-fragmentation warhead weighing 540 kilograms each. More than enough to wreak havoc on the Caledonians, who ought to have problems seeing the missiles approaching as they were set to skim the sea at twelve meters over the waves. The advanced TERCOM and integrated ADSMAC would help aviod any obstructions as the missiles headed for their destination.

All the missiles fired from the Imperial Cottish Navy were timed to penetrate the Caledonian defenses at the same time as the Hawdawgian missiles.

OOC: Has the missle already been fired?

OOC:Yes, but like I said it won't make it to target. It was an added angle I put in the RP to ramp up the tension a little. I have no desire to use the nuclear option yet, as I clearly stated the DoD was going to use the initial cruise missile attack to gauge the feasability of a nuclear launch. The ordinance crew on the ground made a mistake when arming the bombers. In fact, as you may or may not have noticed, the important steps to arming the nuclear device were not taken. The four missiles are inert until they are armed, for safety purposes. Folks ease up, nobodies hair is gonna turn orange, nor will there houses glow at night.

-Official Message From the Union of Communist Republics-

A conflict between powers as great as this can not be ignored, nobody can be neutral, we all must have a side. UCR's has decided to side with Coledonia, we believe that their actions against the corrupt state of Celtayoshi are just in every way. We urge our ally Kingdom of Norway to withdraw from this needless bloodshed. UCR will not take any military action on either side for right now but we felt it neccessary for our position to be heard. To brave Caledonian and Norwegian servicemen, i solute you! You are all brave men and heroes and should fight together, not against each other.

"CORRUPT STATE OF CELTAYOSHI, WHAT," screamed Premier Németh, "get their Ambassador on line at once, tell him he and his staff have 24 hours to apologise for the insult leveled at our country, leave the country or be arrested. Ignorant fools, Caledonia MURDERED 43 INNOCENT CELTAYOSHI CIVILIANS, and they call us corrupt. You, yes you, get the Minister of Press, leak this to the main papers, they will get a killing out of this, tell him to formulate a statement condeming Pushka and such." The Premier, along with all the senior staff were enraged with the comments generating from Pushka, how dare they call Celtayoshi corrupt, when Caledonia sought to gain only an empire out of a peaceful nation that had in no way provoked the attack on Tuvalu.

Celtayoshi Military Command

The Allied States had decided now was the time to strike their first offensive action, and it invovle the use of cruise missiles fired from the Pacific Battlegroup approaching from the west Pacific, form Indochina direction, having been quickly sortied across. Over 250 BGM-109 Tomahawk missiles were launched, these were timed to land 30 minutes after the initial Cottish/Hawdawg strike, targetting much the same targets, but in particular air defence, to destroy Caldeonian ability to prevent an airbourne attack.

As Alexander was enjoying his dinner with Marshall Zubov he got a phone call from the minister of foreign relation Vladislav Nikitin.

Vladislav:"Comrade Prime Minister, Celtayoshi has just issued a warning to us, saying that they will arrest our ambassador to Celtayoshi along with his staff unless they apologize for the comments you made during your speech on the Caledonian conflict."

Sasha (Alexandr) listened silently, his breathing was calm, not a single muscle on his face moved.

Sasha: Thank you Comrade Minister, i will handle this."

He hung up the phone and turned his head to Zubov who was scanning a stack of papers.

Sasha: It seems Celtayoshi leader is need of anger management, well no reason to worry, if he starts a war with UCR nobody is going to back him up, plus he will most certainly loose. Hey Zubov, what do you think?

Zubov: Yes Sasha, there is no way to beat us right now, just take a look at this papers, we have never been as strong.

Sasha: Great, i am gonna make a phone call and handle this, excuse me.

Zubov: Most certainly.

Zubov turned away pretending not to listen as Alexandr picked up the phone and pressed the lower button on the autodialer.

Sasha: Hello this is Prime Minister Alexandr Chorni speaking, it has been brought to my attention that there have been threats made to our embassy in Celtayoshi, make sure that before being arrested Comrade Ambassador will burn all and any vital papers that might rest in the embassy. Okay...aga...thank you. Oh you asking me what to do about the public statement against us? Ignore it of course, we do not listen to threats from corrupt sovereign governments no matter how big is the ego of their leader. Okay thank you. No i am not gonna bother making a public statement, get someone else to do it i got more important things to deal with. Okay...that will be all.

He hung up the phone.

-Official Statement of Union of Communist Republics-

We do not respond to ridiculus claims and statements about our nation from sovereign governments that obviously lack ability to guide their own people. Our position did not and will not change, as for an arrest of our embassador, violating the perimiter of the Union of Communist Republics embassy will be regarded as violation of Union of Communist Republics soil and dealt with as an act of war. I would like to remind comrade Nemeth that if he wages war and sacrafices thousands if not millions of his people because of a remark someone made about his policy, he is not a worthy leader and shall not be regarded as such by the international community.

The Empire is deeply saddened that the Union of Communist Republics has entered this conflict on the side of those who wrongfully have attacked others. The Emperor insists that the Pushkan government rethink their decisions.

Near Australia/New Zealand

The Sehnsucht class was sitting quietly in the water. It's detection systems were running in passive mode and they were directly patched into a real-time satellite feed. They were watching the situation from a safe distance away, far enough to avoid enemy detection yet close enough to spy and gather SIGINT.

Emperor's Office
"Sir what do you propose we do?" The Minister of Foreign Affairs asked, following the briefing of the Pushkan involvement.

"We maintain full alert in Hawaii. If Celtayoshi command has authorized the use of nuclear weapons we don't want to be anywhere near the area. We'll have to dispatch a small battlegroup to Cottish territory and support their rear so they can engage enemy forces. The main problem is the Caledonian uber-tech-wank sir that we're vulnerable to. Dreamcatcher missiles are far beyond the capability of any missile defense system but yet they have been destroyed and rendered ineffective. Our best shot could be a massive strike from range with in excess of 96 Dreamcatcher missiles and possibly a full onslaught of CALCM Block III missiles from B-1s, B-52s, and B-4s from range as well in excess of 200 missiles but I doubt any will get through as they will all be uberly shot down without any casualties and reprogrammed in flight to reattack our territory. It presents a serious problem." The Emperor said, looking at the debrief summary. "Maintain our course for now."

Well I figured you would say I was missile wanking, etc. so....................

1. Yes you said my tech was shit, you said my planes didn't have the radar range I posted. When I posted the links to each of my planes and vessels you didn't respond. I don't design aircraft I buy the best there is to offer and still maintain MT status. I waited yet nothing, so I gave you the benefit of the doubt and posted my losses in the 7th Fleet (which were very generous).

2. All my stats for my vessels were clearly listed in the post in which you asked for my tech links. Each vessel clearly has the missile capacity listed. I used on average 50 percent of the VLS missiles on each of the remaining vessels in the 7th Fleet that were still in operation after your missile strike. If I wanted to I could have increased the inbound missile numbers to an even higher number if the ships attached to the MEF stationed in Fiji would have launched on your island because of the distance between our locations (see point 3).

3. Yes 6700+ missiles is alot of inbound ordinace, but your island is approximately 1329 km from Fiji the Home Port for one of my fleets and actually well within range of ALL the ships in Fiji and the 7th Fleet which was in route to New Caledonia. The only missile in the Tomahawk arsenal not able to hit your island from Fiji is the Block III TLAM-D.

4. The actual range of Tactical Tomahawk cruise missiles are as follows:
Range:
Block II TLAM-A – 1350 nautical miles (1500 statute miles, 2500 km)
Block III TLAM-C - 900 nautical miles (1000 statute miles, 1600 km)
Block III TLAM-D - 700 nautical miles (800 statute miles, 1250 km)
Block IV TLAM-E - 900 nautical miles (1000 statute miles, 1600 km)
(official navy website information)

5. The actual range of the AGM-129 air launched cruise missile is 3000km (global security.org source) All of which were fired from my bomber fleet stationed in PNG (which were clearly denoted in my ORBAT).

6. You told me early on in this roleplay not to underestimate you so I didn't. I launched a valid strike from a valid naval presence of which you are calling a missile wank. I take offense to that, count my ships look at the links to these vessels (which you didn't because you didn't respond to my first post regarding them anyway see point 2).

7. I follow one rule in battle overwhelming force is the best offensive weapon. I can't help the fact you happened to stumble into a buzzsaw in the Pacific, you should have researched the areas before you took on the "takeover" mentality.

8. Don't lecture us about tactics, just like the NS credo says "join up and run your nation like you want". If I want to send my troops into battle with a sharp kitchen knife and a tennis racket that is my business. Battles are all about exploiting weakness. Obviously overloading your Anti-Missile system was a good tactic judging on your response. Before the US launched both Iraq land invasions multiple salvos of Missiles were launched into enemy territory to effectively neutralize targets of importance. I was merely borrowing a page from Stormin' Norman's book.

9. In short your hand was called, and now the scales aren't in your favor so you want to leave the sandbox. Hey your call there, but remember your aggression brought this upon yourself, nothing more.

The Celtayoshi Forces were in victorious mood. Earlier that night the small force of infantry left on Tuvalu recieved the unconditional surrender of Caledonian Forces to Celtayoshi on the island. Each man was quickly taken under guard to the nearest usable airfield, where transports landed and then departed to take them to Celtayoshi. There they would be held as prisioners of war until the end of the campaign. This now included the annexation of New Caledonia. If would be less than 24 hours before the first of 10,000 Marines landed in Caledonia to take control of the island. It was in a sorry state following multiple bombings, and was now being pounded hourly by the Air Force of numerous allies. Caledonia would fall within days.

I thought you knew. I didn't TG you because of all you had on the front burner recently. Cotland, Celtayoshi, Layarteb, and myself had plenty of firepower in the area to handle New Caledonia's expansionistic ideals. As far as troubles with Celt and Pushka a little bird tells me those things will iron out soon. I have no idea of Pyshotikas status. He was sailing towards Papua New Guinea last I saw and techinically he hadn't declared support for the fallen New Caledonian Regime, but he officially hadn't said he wouldn't support them either. He had a fleet positioned between New Caledonia and Fiji, but they weren't firing on my vessels or anyone elses that were attacking New Caledonian Forces when the RP fell apart.

To sum it up, Pushka and Celt are at a heightened state of tension but aren't exchanging blows yet. I have offered Pushka a base in Leningrad Oblast, but he has to sign non-agression pacts with NG, Celtayoshi, Cotland, and Layarteb. The Macabees is gone. Pyschotika hasn't formally declared a position so he techinically can go either direction in this conflict. I figured the thread would die without The Macabees.

Celtayoshi State News - Live from New Caledonia

"What you are seeing today is the end of the Caledonian nation, at just after 2pm local time five military transports, flanked by ten fighter jets from the CYAF landed at the last remaing usable military runway in New Caledonia. Very quickly we followed the troops out as they secured the airforce base. It is understood that this was done very quickly and without casualties. In the last hour some resistance was herd in the city area as government offices, the last hiding places of the former Caledonian government are raided. It is hoped to bring the leaders back to Celtayoshi to be imprisioned.

Throughout the day more troops have been flying in, and official figures put the total at 1,500 infantry, 5 M1A2 Abrams MBT, 4 SM1APCs and 25 CY-X2s. Army Engineers are also on the gorund, but we have not been informed of their numbers. They have been siezing construction vehicles in an effort to extend civilian runways to permit the large transports to land."
