Local economists attempt to convince the public that even though the major manufacturing concerns (http://dictionary.reference.com/search?r=2&q=basketweaver) in their nation will be hard hit, research into new basket-weaving materials is producing promising results.
Unfortunately, the news that rival trading nation Grobbadobbadingdong (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/target=display_nation/nation=grobbadobbadingdong) has been able to flood the market with more cheaply manufactured yet amazingly sturdy baskets constructed from a national resource, trimmings from their plentiful national animal, has begun a panic in the Liberterium Commodities market. Concerns that the Liberterium bonobos monkey will not be able to produce in either quality or quantity for the good of the people, have some Liberterium hyper-patriots considering wiping out the species and transplanting some of Grobbadobbadingdong's prodigiously breeding creatures.
Grobbadobbadingdong's foreign correspondence office refused to comment, but an increase in game wardens and forestry personnel being deployed to the wilds of Grobbadobbadingdong was noted by observers in that nation.
In a separate report from the world currency market this afternoon, the Libby is down 2.37 overall from its opening value, and has fallen remarkably in comparison to the Grobbalongdong which has reached new high levels of daily trading volume and value.
