This was originally posted in Gameplay, but Gruenberg suggested I put it here to get more opinions on this. So here it is.

As the title says, this concerns clones. So, the question is:
What tech level are clones considered to be? MT, PMT, FT, or any tech level?

For the record, this was my initial response in Gameplay

I doubt strongly there's an absolute standard. Clearly, we [I meant we RL, not we Gruenberg] currently have some cloning capabilities: we don't have zombie armies. As such, pure MT, without evidence of history of more advanced scientific developments, might be stretching it. But I suspect it's largely something you just have to agree on, rather than assuming it as read from the tech tag.

seeing as how clones of animals al alread upon us i would say that the type like millions of slightly dumb troopers all geneticly alike and perfect would be late pmt to ft, but human clones for the sake of donors or slaves would be posible for mt.

If you just want clones, MT. If you want vat-grown armies that grow to maturity in less than a year, definitely FT.

I personally label it as mid PMT, but for uber-fast grown clones, then yeah, I agree with Khurgan. But that's just my opinion, I want to see what everyone else has.

Well, the vat part would also push it to PMT. If you're just using modern cloning methods (surrogate mothers and all), it'd obviously be modern tech.

Organ donors and tissue donors: MT
Humans (None to few enhancements): PMT
Humans (None to many enhancements): PFT (Pre-Future Tech, after PMT but before FT)
Uber Humans: FT

OK. I was thinking of using clone armies in the future for MT, but now it looks like only PMT. Or PFT.

speaking of clones skycapt are you going to rp the clone comanders thing, because we have an off site forum and you did sign up.

OK, here's another question:
What tehc level would battle-capable droids be considered? PMT/FT also?

FT. Definitely FT, if you want it to be even remotely affordable.

PMT maybe for tracked/wheeled ones, and if you want bipedal ones (I use bipedals for entrenching positions) it's definitely FT.
