Emperor Constantinius could not believe his ears when the news came to him over the phone on his personal jet. He had been returning from a peace conference in Rome with Cotland and Layarteb. The issue had been about French Polynesia, and there was nearly a war. However, tactful diplomacy had been able to rescue the Divine Empire from a war it would probably lose. But now the petty kingdom of Sparta Dominion was claiming Kreynoria was reponsible for a nuclear bombing plot against Cotland. The Spartans were obviously desperate for somebody else to blame their nuclear threats on, and Kreynoria would make a convenient scapegoat. This severely threatened the fragile peace, and would not be tolerated. The Emperor ordered that the military, already mobilized in case of war with the Cotts and Layartebians, was ordered to be on full alert and prepare for war against Sparta.

As a result of the Kreynorian mobilization, the already alerted Cottish forces went from BERSTAT-3 to BERSTAT-2 in the Pacific. The forces in Cotland had already been brought to BERSTAT-2 when the Spartan aggression started. Intercepted communications hinted that the Kreynorians might try to start a war against Sparta, which were dangerously close to Cotland. The Kreynorians would have to fly over Cottish territory in order to get to Sparta, and there was no chance in hell that they would get permission to do that! As a result, Cottish fighter patrols were increased, and the new anti-stealth system was put to extensive use. A warning also went out to both Sparta and Kreynoria.

Other than that, we will not intervene in your conflict, unless any of your forces enter Cottish territory, in which case the forces invading will be destroyed, along with the people who ordered them into Cotland. IC: The Allied States of Celtayoshi will be increasing Naval Patrols in the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans to guard against possible action against Celtayoshian territories, normal peace time rules apply (OOC:we don't fire unless provoked). Air patrols over all Celtayoshi territories will be doubled and merchant ships belonging to Celtayoshi infrequently guarded by the Navy.

This move is a response to our ally, Cotland, and their increase in force readiness.

The sum of $21,760,000,000 was wired to Cotland for use of the Suez Canal. No fewer than 288 ships, 1480 aircraft, 5040 tanks, 10,100 artillery pieces, 40,000 APCs and IFVs, 12,500 assorted trucks and motorcycles, 4540 other vehicles, and 800,000 infantry would be passing through the canal to invade the petty kindgom of Sparta.

Do to this new war, the military is being increased.

IC: The Cottish consul in Chechnya had a meeting with the local President, Shamil Basayev (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shamil_Basayev). The Cots had learned from earlier experiences that the Chechens weren't too happy about being ruled by anyone else, so they had instead turned Chechnya into a fully autonomous republic, with its own military, parliament and economy. The only thing the Cots demanded in return, was that the Chechens recognized the Cottish right to trade and protect Chechnya. The Chechens had agreed, mainly because they had never had their largest dream come through. There were no Cottish military units (with the exception of the Marine Guards at the consulate) in Chechnya, something that the Chechens were very happy with.

The consule was a elderly gentleman, experienced in the world of diplomacy. It was he who had made the Chechens agree to the Cottish protectorate, in return for full autonomy. As a result, they respected and almost loved him. Right now, he was in a meeting with the Chechen President, Basayev.

"Mister President, there's a threath in the horizon. The Spartans are preparing for war, and they might try to take Chechnya." the consule said.

"What?! They will all die if they try!" Basayev said. He was clearly upset by the news. The consule understood the Chechens, having lived among them for the past fifteen years.

"Mister President, let me assure you that if you wish, the Cottish Army and Air Force will assist you. Remember that you are under the protection of the Cottish Empire."

"Yes, perhaps later. But for now, our Army will protect Chechnya. I will remember your offer though."

The meeting ended fifteen minutes later, and an additional hour later, the entire Chechnyan military went on highest alert. Not that it was a very large military, only about five Soviet-style tank divisions and four Soviet-style motorized Infantry Divisions, and eleven fighter-wings equipped with Su-27 Flankers and MiG-29 Fulcrums, bur enough to defend Chechnya. In addition, all Chechen families owned at least one AK-47.

Sorry, been away for a while. Yay, I am the WTF element. Sparta is just straaaaaaaaaaaanggggggggggggggggge. Anyway, I'll get back to the war soon enough. Right now its late and I don't feel like making a big post.

IC: The Kreynorian fleet passed through the Suez Canal unmolested and began to head up the eastern Mediterranean. Unfortunately, they learned that the Straits had been closed by the Greeks. Thus, a complicated alternate route had to be devised. Telegrams had been sent requesting authorization from Elephantum and Carthage to use their territories as staging areas. Permission had also been acquired from Eppessenia. The fleet anchored just outside the territorial waters of Syria.

OOC: Well if you both are traced back to Greece in your histories then I might I let you fight each other. But I don't really like military ships passing through straits which are heavy populated like the city of Constantinople even if they are allied ships. Nobody in my nation trusts foreigners 100% even if there ancestors used to be Greek.

OOC: Understood. I'd feel the same way.

IC: Permission had been granted by Carthage and Elephantum to pass through Syria, Iraq, and Iran to get at Sparta. The warships swifly raised anchor and sailed to the Syrian shoreline. Then came the process of unloading the transports, which took the better part of three days. Eventually, all personnel and equipment had been unloaded. It was an impressive sight. The fleet, with its task of transporting the units complete, fell back outside the territorial waters of Carthage and laid anchor again. The army began moving across the deserts of Syria and Iraq. Morale was high, as the troops hadn't been told they'd be outnumbered nearly 20 to 1 by Spartan soldiers and militia. However, with their superior training and equipment, and skillful tactics, the invasion just might succeed. If not, a seond reinforcing wave would come to aid the initial troop.

IC: The Chechen army was fully alerted now. A total of 300 T-90s (http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/world/russia/t-90.htm) and 600 BTR-90s (http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/world/russia/btr-90.htm) per armored division, totalling at 1 500 T-90s and 3 000 BTR-90s, along with 30 000 Infantrymen in the armored divisions alone, and a total of 60 000 infantrymen in the 8 000 trucks and 3 600 BTR-70s (http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/world/russia/btr-70.htm) in the motorized divisions. A total of 2 000 SA-20 'Triumf' (http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/world/russia/s-400.htm) SAM sites and 1 000 ZSU-23-4 (http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/world/russia/zsu-23-4.htm) 'Shilka' AAA vehicles provided air cover, along with the 576 Su-27 'Flankers' (http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/world/russia/su-27.htm) and the 480 MiG-29 'Fulcrums' (http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/world/russia/mig-29.htm) of the Chechen Air Force. All in all, the Chechen military was ready, and so were the Cottish military on the opposite side of Sparta.

There would be no interference from the Cottish side, unless Chechnya was attacked. The Chechens however, believed that if any Spartan or Kreynorian entered Chechnya, that would mean war!

OOC: How do the Chechens have such a well-equipped army? Is that Cottish units, or Chechen resistance forces, or a sort of provincial army?

The Kreynorian army had passed through the territories of Carthage and Elephantum without incident, and were now in the territory of Eppessenia, who had granted authorization to use their Caucasian territory as a staging base. The men in the army, while still alert for any Spartan aggression, were relaxing and enjoying their last moments before battle. So far only Manuel Lascaris and George Bryennius, the two generals commanding the invading force, knew exactly when the Kreynorian force would strike. There had been no official declaration of war yet, and since the Spartans were de-mobilizing in the face of Cottish threats, the attack would likely be a surprise. The lack of noticable Spartan activity was all the more reassuring. Regular AWACS sorties near the Eppessenian-Spartan border had revealed minimal activity on the Spartans' part. For all their boasting, the Spartans certainly were no experts in the art of warfare.

OOC: They're an independent nation, albeit under Cottish protection. So I have no control over what they do, but if you try anything against them, I'll be on your ass pretty quickly...

The time of attack was fast approaching. The two commanders were briefing their officers now. Operation Forlorn Hope was to begin at 1:30 AM. Their objectives were simple: neutralize the Spartan army and take New Sparta. Once defeated in battle and their capital fallen, the Spartan aura of invincibility would be shattered, with a heavy effect on morale. Meanwhile, a special elite commando team was being prepped. Their objective was to infiltrate the Spartan lines once the attack was underway and kill or capture the two Spartan kings.

It was 1:00 AM.

Marshal Bryennius was fretting over his troops, making last-minute short speeches and reviewing the army's preparations.

Commander Lascaris was calmly sitting on an artillery shell, sharpening his K-2 bayonet.

Private Jackie Ryan, an immigrant soldier, was chatting with a few local girls, savoring his last moments of peace.

An anonymous Spartan border guard was watching the horizon, eyes heavy with fatigue.

The B-2 Spirit and MTA-U01 Vector Stealth bombers, with F-22 Raptor escorts, cruised into the night sky. Altogether the air armada was 500 strong, all of them Stealth bombers. It was before dawn. The black paint of the Stealth craft neatly camoflauged with the night sky. The aircraft split up. 120 Vectors and 75 Raptors flew at the air defenses and bunkers. They would attempt to tear a hole in Sparta's defenses that the army would plunge into. The remaining 30 Vectors, 150 B-2s, and 125 Raptors headed towards New Sparta to make a terror raid.

Monitoring Station 74D
40 kilometers behind the Cottish-Spartan border

The four men in the control room of the monitoring station inside Cotland were watching the battle unfold. The Anti-Stealth System had been enabled, allowing the Cots to see the battle, even though it was very far away from Cotland. The range of the system allowed for that.

"Looks like they're introducing a new kind of bomber here. Look at that radar signature." one officer said while making sure that the recorders were getting the data.

"Yeah. They're still using the old B2, you see?"

"Yeah. Wow, I count one five zero B2s, one two five Raptors and three zero of that new bomber heading in our general direction. Think we should alert area command?"

"Nah, let's just wait a moment and see what they're doing. No need to wake the General up over nothing."

The men nodded in concurance and continued watching, well aware that they were about to get a peek show on the Kreynorian tactics thanks to the highly classified Anti-Stealth System.

Secret IC

Elephantum had opened its airspace to the Kreynorians, and as such had gathered information from military facilities and air traffic control stations about what they had seen. Most of it was fairly standard, and in common use by the Elephanti Air Force. Some military facilites had picked up something else. As they were not directly monitoring it, they could only assume it was new stealth technology, probably a bomber. Planes, ships, and facilities in the Caspian Sea Area were told to watch for this unidentified object, especially if one was shot down.

Task Group A (120 Vectors and 75 Raptors) began to dive on their targets. The Spartans had not detected them, and the surprise was total. A hail of bombs and air-to-ground missiles tore apart dozens of forts and bunkers. Gun emplacements were quickly knocked out. There was the flash of Flak and AAA, but only one Raptor was downed by anti-aircraft fire so far.

Task Group B, following the lights of New Sparta, came in high and then dived steeply, sending a rain of bombs and napalm down upon the city. Missiles lanced into skyscrapers. The city's government and military facilites were targeted first. However, New Sparta was heavily protected by AA guns and a few SAM batteries, and they took their toll on the attacking aircraft. Still, the Spartans did not have time to scramble fighters of their own due to the surprise nature of the attack. The results was their airbases were blown to smithereens before the first planes could take off.

Duh I'm a greek nation. Sparta, ever heard of it, won the pelopenesian war, slaughtered the persians at thermopaly for a while, had compulsory military service ect.

Liar. What does "kreynoria" have to do with greece? Ever even heard of it in greek facts? He's just lying to get through the strait. But Sparta is definatly heard of. Actually, Krey tells you on the defence sheet that all my stuff is based off ancient Sparta.

During the reign of Basil I the Macedonian, a Byzantine general [fictional], named Romanos Cerularius, proposed a colonization of a large island supposedly located west of Great Britain, perhaps Ireland or Iceland. A small Byzantine Greek fleet set sail for this new island. However, they were seriously blown off course after they passed the Strait of Gibraltar. The fleet eventually landed in what is now Panama. However, the people disliked the climate, hostile natives, and the deadly diseases (yellow fever and malaria). After discovering a sea to the west, the colonists built 9 great ships and sailed west. The people who chose to stay were eventually wiped out by Mayan raids and yellow fever. 6 of the ships managed to reach a new chain of islands, today known as Hawaii. They peacefully coexisted with the native Polynesian population. Over time, Byzantines and Polynesians intermarried and their languages and customs blended together. The two peoples became one. Eventually, they were overrun by superior imperialist forces from the West, and for hundreds of years they lived as subjects of foreign rulers. Eventually, they managed to gain their independence by treaty rather than violence from the Empire of Layarteb. The very second that the first bomb was dropped, they posted this on radio and television. Everyone who had a bomb shelter headed for it, and those who didn't got into small rooms/corners in there basement.


After Generals Menelaus and Agamemnon saw this group of fighters/bombers bullets and bombs, Menelaus Gave the order "Send out what of the air force we can. Cover most all of Sparta Dominion incase these first are a diversion for an ambush."

Instantly, all flight decks were occupied with launching fighters. This was War with Kreynoria. You can here fighters launching, rockets and bombs exploding, fighters crashing, machineguns firing. It was sad to hear these noises, as why does a world need war. Although, suckily, there are always those who don't believe they're just blood and death(In this case kreynoria). But, although we don't want to, we must fight, or our people will die.

The fighting continued, and fighters were shot down.

They don't know that the bombers are Kreynorian. We haven't declared war, and it's too dark to see the markings on the bombers signifying that they are Kreynorian. And how can there be an immediate response? You have no warning of their approach. And even if they did, almost everyone would be asleep. How can your entire air force lift off in seconds when I am currently bombing your airfields? And Western Kingdoms, this RP is closed to Earth II members only. Pilots could be seen desperately trying to get their planes off the burning runways. But it was futile. The Spartan pilots were mercilessly gunned down from the sky. By now, much of the city was in flames. But the raid was not complete. One of the B-2s had had its internal rotary bomb racks removed, and was instead crammed with elite Kreynorian commandoes in fake (but highly realistic) Spartan uniforms. The bomb doors of this modified B-2 opened, and about 30 commandoes silently parachuted to the ground. By chance, an antiaircraft shell which had been randomly fired tore open the parachute of one of the men, and he plummeted to a painful death. The rest made it down to the ground safely, and began to make their way towards the royal palace, which had only suffered light damage. In the meantime, the Kreynorian fighters and bombers fired off the last of their bombs and missiles and began a flight back to Eppessenian territory, flying through the gaping hole in the Spartan air defenses by Task Group A, which had already withdrawn, its mission successful. It was 2:28 AM when the first of the Kreynorian tanks began to roll towards the border.

I have about 7 air fields and destroying one or 2 is no where near enough to stop my air force. Also, How would you know what spartan uniforms look exactly like? About the people being asleep, have you ever heard of sirens? I have about 7 air fields and destroying one or 2 is no where near enough to stop my air force. Also, How would you know what spartan uniforms look exactly like? Also, you say one commando was randomly killed? Hello!!!!!!!!!!!!! We're in the middle of a battle!!!!!!!!!!My men know what to do. OOC: I accept that much of the city is burning, that the helots will find the leaflets. Although I do think that have been more damage done to you, I believe for the time you attacked at I guess its reasonable. However, my army is not perimeter-based. Very little has been deployed from the bases, just so you know. Well, on with the role play.

It has been 2 days since Kreynoria attacked Sparta Dominion. Local Newspapers have printed about it, and many have dug themselves bomb shelters. The Spartan army has arrived and is prepared for an attack of any sort. The fire was put out after 42 hours, but it unfortunately destroyed much of the city. The kings were well hidden away by now.
The search for the hiding Kreynorians has been unsuccessful so far. Slowly Men were being pulled back, inspected, and sent back out. If the enemy was disguised as soldiers, they would be found.
Out of the 500 fighters, 254 fighters were destroyed, 91 damaged. 302 pilots were killed, 31 wounded. Bunkers were being built, sandbags piled, and AAguns set up.
Of the 7 airfields, only 4 remained 1 southwest, 1 south and 1 near the city were destroyed. 1 north of the city was heavily damaged. 1 northwest was moderately damaged, 1 far east and 1 northeast were only lightly hit.

Infiltration Platoon had cleared the Spartan royal palace. They had suffered thirteen casualties and had killed thirty-one guards so far. The Spartan royal guards had not been pushovers. But despite an intensive scouring of the palace, the two kings were nowhere to be found. The Spartans must have evacuated them. The men hid the bodies of the guards and put on their uniforms and identification, which would no doubt be more convincing than the false ones they had been previously wearing. They had failed their primary objective. However, there was still some damage they could do. The palace had access to the entire city via a system of loudspeakers. In perfect Greek, one of the commandoes began making a broadcast:

Attention, people of Sparta.

Around the city, people listened to the broadcast.

When I say people, I mean the helots: oppressed and subjugated for generations by the ruling class of Sparta. This is your hour. The kings have fled and are hiding, the generals are confounded, the army demoralized. For decades you have been told that you are inferior and born only to serve. Now you see the true integrity of your masters. The kings aren't going off to battle, they are hiding somewhere. Your so-called mighty generals are holed up in a secret bunker, not leading from the front! Your rulers are cowards, they know how you can overthrow them! Now you must rise up, find the cowardly leaders and generals, and vanquish them! You will have freedom, and equality, justice and liberty! All you must do is have the courage to vanquish the cruel tyrants who call themselves kings. Their mindless cruelty cannot stand before your righteous might!

They then took up residence in the cellar of a ruined building. The site was remote, easily defensible, and hard to get into. It would serve their purposes well. The next phase of their mission would be to hunt down the Spartan generals, Menelaus and Agamemnon.

A total of 12000 IFVs and APCs, 2400 artillery pieces, 2100 tanks, and 212000 men were headed towards the damaged Spartan perimeter defenses, and they were commanded by General Lascaris. Their forces also included 554 motorcycle lancers and 13434 berserkers. They were supported from the air by 268 fighters and 312 bombers. Yet this was really only a diversonary attack. Aside from the forces sweeping New Sparta for the Kreynorian infiltration team, most of the Spartan army was being rushed to the damaged fortifications, where they believed the main Kreynorian attack was to come. They had left minimal garrisons on the rest of their defensive line. A portion of the line a good distance west of the damaged site was to bear the brunt of the Kreynorian assault under General Bryennius. General Lascaris' force was to keep the Spartan army embattled and unable to respond. Hopefully, the helots would then rise up and the commando team would be able to kill the Spartan kings or at least their generals.

Just so you know, the Helots are barely educated, so your announcement would work, but most wouldn't have a clue about any leaflets you drop.

With so much pressure on the government a lot of leaders of the protest believed the Government and the Army will take action.

Hundreds of protestors surrounded the Imperial Palace. So far the guards and the police forces managed to keep them off the palace grounds. But some managed to throw a few rocks and break some windows which one of the rocks thrown go broke into the study of the Emperor.

“I won’t tolerate this kind of behavior against my government. The protests must stop!” yelled the Emperor with rage as a rock broke into his study

“Father, you do know the protestors do have a point. They are Spartans and we have an obligation as Greeks to help other Greeks in need.”

“I know that perfectly well but this is a delicate situation. Accusations have risen against Sparta Dominion for nuclear threats…very well then we will help the Sparta Dominion to the best of our abilities. We will not make any official announcement. This will remain a secret among the Empire and Sparta Dominion.” Said the Emperor

And Kreynoria, you are right that most of the army is being moved, but not from other borders. All of the army besides borderguards is what you would call reserves. The correction I have made is all reserves are being called up, not the entire army.

I see your war cry is about Thermopylae, the lengendary second battle in the Persian Wars where after refusing to retreat, the 300 Spartans fought to the last drop of blood (where I get my signiture) and killed 10s, possibly 100s of thousands of Persians on the third day. Everyone else left after being ordered at the end of the 1st day. The Spartans held out the entire 2nd day, and fell on the third day only because a Greek told Xerxes about a different mountain pass, which was then used by the Persians to surround the remaining Spartans as Xerxes watched from the throne in the mountains he had brought.
By the way, you forgot to mention your men's meals. A common one in ancient Sparta was blood soup. Is it what your men had?

Menelaus sent a radio message to General Atticus:

Atticus was on flight towards the secret Spartan base where the leadership was. He left the minute they where in sight of Sparta Dominion. He was sitting in the co pilot seat of the Apache Attack Helicopter.

“Supreme General, we have an incoming radio transmission by General Menelaus of the Spartan Army. I have switched the transmission to a private encrypted channel.”

“Alright I will take it.”

Atticus took the radio and replied.

“Good morning, Menelaus. I am happy to announce the Hellenistic Army has arrived in Sparta Dominion. I am on my way towards the secret base, where the leadership is, thanks to the coordinates given by a Spartan officer back at the city. I am also glad to hear your army's morale is still high.”

The pilot continued to fly the helicopter at full speed towards the location of the secret base. Even if the Spartan officer back at the city said he won’t encounter any Kreynorian forces here and still was on guard ready to dodge a missile at a second’s warning.

IC: Agamemnon came out of the base with Menelaus and took the royal train to the port city of Corinthopolis along the Caspian coast to meet the Hellenistic forces. When they got there, they began to talk with atticus.
About "borrowing helots", go ahead and do so for all we care. Just watch out. They get pretty nasty. If they do, go ahead and shoot 'em, as knowone cares, warned Agamemnon.
We will have 100 royal guards come for defence, just incase. Kreynorians are disguised as our troops, and so far, we've had no luck finding them examining our troups. OOC: Unless Nikolaos' ships all grew wings and flew, I don't see how they got into the Caspian Sea.

IC:It was just Infiltration Platoon's luck that the royal guards were being summoned to Corinthiopolis, since they happened to be wearing stolen uniforms and ID from fallen royal guards. This would be a prime opportunity to kill off the generals and perhaps even the kings, considering it was the royal guard being summoned. The men quickly boarded the train to Corinthiopolis. A moment of anxiety rose when they got on the train, but when no Spartans blurted out "Intruders" they were fairly certain their disguises had worked.

About 45 minutes later, the train arrived. The men quickly disembarked along with hundreds of other guards. This was a suicide mission, pure and simple. They would all die, but it would be for God and Emperor. There was to be no hesitation nor regret.

After about 10 minutes, they finally saw their prize: the Spartan generals, along with some other general, all having a discussion. The commandoes quietly moved nearby. Then, in record time, guns were drawn and blazing. General Menelaus cried out in surprise. Just as quickly, the other Spartan guards were upon them with swords and bayonets. Yet they ignored the guards, they had a mission.

Blood spurted from all over General Agammemon as his body was shredded. But only one commando was left, First Lieutenant Romanus Doukas. Quickly, he spun around, aiming a whipping kick at one of the royal guards.

With a snap, the Spartans neck broke. With unbelievable speed, Lieutenant Doukas spun around and plunged his K-2 combat knife into the neck of another royal guard. Withdrawing his weapon, he caught the kick of another guard while simultaneously parrying the strike of another guard's sword. Then in a blaze of motion, he casually snapped the ankle of the first guard while slicing off the hand of the second. But then, he felt his chest and neck shattered by machine-gun bullets, and collapsed, slashing one last Spartan on his way down.

Thats one hell of a soldier, but I guess he only killed 2 men for sure, and injured the rest he layed finger son were only injured.

IC: This never happenned. Agamemnon was never killed. We can't take the demoralization of it. The troops will know that all, I count 16 Kreynorians were killed. That way will boost moral, knowing we killed 16 elite commandos with only 2 losses and a few injuries. You with the broken ankle, you can have a break until your foot is back to normal health. You who got your right hand cut off, you can retire for life if you want, seeing you will be unable to fight. I called a medical transport the moment the Kreynorians begun to fire, so it should not be long until you are safe at the hospital. As it goes, Agamemnon's body shall be preserved until the end of the war, then he will get a proper buriel directed Menelaus. You there. radio the troops and tell them all casualties besides Agamemnon. You on my right, hide Agamemnon's corpse. It is lucky that we had a man, who was worthy of general. He only wasn't promoted because we always have only 2 kings at once and 2 generals at once. His name is Patriclos. He is the cousin of King Achilles.

OOC: Most confusing post ever...(aside from some of Zeeeland's work). I don't see how the man was dialing 911 while under fire but anyhoo...

IC: The commandoes had all had tracers that monitored their life functions, and also had a tiny camera and microphone. Thus, Imperial Kreynoriac High Command was quick to know of the commandoes' demise, along with that of General Agamemon.

General Lascaris was now engaged with the Spartan army. A new wave of Stealth bombers and attack planes was softening up Spartan armoured units and their remaining fixed defences. Thousands of artillery pieces opened fire upon the Spartan army, the noise deafening. By far the largest artillery were three 31.5 inch ETC guns that had been prefabricated and assembled in Andrehervia. An entire air defense brigade was commited to protecting each of these giant guns. The Kreynorian fleet also launched hundreds upon hundreds of cruise missiles. Streaking over Elephanti and Carthaginian airspace, they struck their targets with unnering accuracy.

From above, six defense satellites fired a barrage of tungsten rods and orbit-to-surface missiles down, while simultaneously using their lasers to intercept Spartan missiles.

The Kreynorian air force dominated the skies, since most of the Spartan air force had been annihilated on the ground.

The primitive Spartans still used the M1A2 Abrams and Kevlar-and-bronze armor. The nano-mesh armor of the Kreynorian ground forces proved very successful in stopping Spartan bullets. At the head of the advance were twenty ST-37K1 Mekhevs, the greatest tanks the world had ever known. They mercilessly bombarded the Spartans with their gas-assisted magnetizing ETC cannons, TOW missiles, autocannons, grenade launchers, and machine guns. Admittedly, the Spartans were courageous, but bravery didn't stop bullets.

The average Kreynorian soldier found himself at a great advantage over his Spartan counterpart in terms of training, equipment, and morale. The Kreynorians also had extensive satellite, naval, and air support. They also enjoyed a distinct technological advantage and had a far better supply situation. Without adequate fighter support, Spartan supply convoys were blitzed from the air by Zenith X-20 and MTA-HO2 Shard attack helicopters and PX-205 Llaro assault planes.

One of the defense systems orbiting over Sparta Dominion recorded the firing of missiles from Kreynorian satellites on Sparta Dominion. An alert message was immediately signaled to the base of operations.

8 defense systems where currently orbiting over Sparta Dominion and 3 more where on there way being moved from the Black Sea. Two defense systems began shooting hundreds of orbit to surface missiles with laser targeting at the Kreynorian artilleries. The 6 other defense systems where doing a good job at intercepting Kreynorian missiles as they were about to enter the atmosphere.

Back on Earth, 150 F-78D King Demon (http://s11.invisionfree.com/C_A_D/index.php?showtopic=3) fighters where being launched off the Greco Aircraft Carriers, the pride of the Hellenic Navy. They where currently flying over Andrehervia territory towards Sparta Dominion. It was time to show these Kreynorians who where the masters of the sky.

Krey and I talked over the battle in the air. We agreed that I'm getting somewhat beaten, but not total domination, as in his last raid, he only killed 254 planes out of 1,600.

Men were secretly pulling back, starting from back rows and up. Part of the secret plan. Also, planes were flying to bases far away in Spartan lands, little by little.

After a few hours, no Spartans remained on the battle field. Nearly eveyone had retreated. Starting from the back rows where no on could see them, men ran off on their generals order, lying low until they reached trucks where they drove off. Now that everyone was gone but the Kreynorians, two cruise missiles were launched from Spartan base. To specially modified cruise missiles. Even if they were shot down, they would come crashing to the ground, break open, and unleash what was inside. For the warheads of these to missiles were dirty-bombs.

Secret Message to Kreynoria

You have our support in this war, should you at any point require our assistance do not hesitate to contact the Ministry of Defence.

Flying along side the missiles at great speed, specially developed D-12 drones were cruising. As they manouvered on top of the missiles, little arms came down from below and attached themselves to the missiles. Then gathering pace, the drones with the missiles attached, accelerated into the upper atmosphere, where the turbojet engines cut out. After both engines had cut out, the drones and missiles drifted down towards Huahinian Airspace, where a NBC Recovery Team would take over the situation.
Message to Sparta:
Your attitude towards war appalls us, and we have no option other than to join Kreynoria in the fight against you, and we will fight until the end

OOC: By the time your nation found out about the missiles and the time it will take for your drones to get there the missiles would have already hit there target. So Sparta I suggest you ignore his attack on your missiles.

Sparta is no longer on the list of nations there we have interests. We withdraw our ultimatum and shall not interfere in this conflict.

OOC: Huahin is very close to Sparta Dominion, and if he has been closely monitoring the war (as my ally, probably so) he should be able to detect them. What is the delivery system Sparta is using? Even so, my laser defense satellites could still take them out.

IC: The Spartans had melted away from the battlefield. The 2nd, 17th, and 13th medical brigades were sent forward to tend to the wounded. Fallen Kreynorian warriors were identified with regimental rosters. Of course, some were too mangled by the brutal Spartans to identify, and their bodies were given cremations, amidst great sadness. General Lascaris took a trip back behind lines to visit a field hospital.

In the meantime, General Bryennius' opponents were also retreating. All across the line, the Spartans were pulling back. Being the nervous sort, Bryennius was curious about this withdrawal. It was against Spartan character.

And amidst all this, a fleet of unidentified contacts was fast approaching, approximately 500-strong. 360 ASC-7 Aigle Air Superiority Fighters and 120 MTA-F02 Mephistos Interceptors were scrambled to deal with this threat.

Thats just fine Hauhin. Meanwhile, we are preparing our super-uber ignore cannon, as I calculate there was 180 seconds between the time they were launched and would hit their targets. So unless you can track our missiles, send your drones, your drones can arrive there, take my missiles apart, and take them away all in 180 seconds, I think they would hit their targets. And besides, they will land in our own territory, so what do you care?

Huahin shares a border with you, could easily have been tracking the missiles, and his drones will be much faster than the missiles or else they would be useless for missile interception. And they don't have 180 seconds to take them to Huahin. Unless they are timed missiles, which I find highly unlikely. So I in turn fire my Ignore Cannon at your's, permanently crippling it.

OOC: I must say Sparta is right, just because Huanin has magical intercoptor drones that can get to a missile that takes 180 seconds to reach its target doesn't mean that if Huanin uses them they will not be ignored. Sparta is correct, that uber-godly drone attack should be ignored.

These drones are capable of Mach 7+ and as I'm so close to Sparta and Kreynoria is my ally, they were already operating in Sparta Territory. It is quite likely that the radiation would have effected my territory as well. It was only two missiles.

As they manouvered on top of the missiles, little arms came down from below and attached themselves to the missiles. Then gathering pace, the drones with the missiles attached, accelerated into the upper atmosphere, where the turbojet engines cut out. After both engines had cut out, the drones and missiles drifted down towards Huahinian Airspace, where a NBC Recovery Team would take over the situation.

Hauhin, I bought my dirty-bombs at Nikolaos' storefront(were brought over with his troops that came to help). In his discription, he said the radiation has a radius of half a mile, therefore couldn't possibly get into your territory. And why do I get the feeling that this thread is for a second time is turning into an arguement thread?

There are no turbojets in my drones, only in the missiles. My drones use scramjet engines. I would know whether they have been launched because they would have been detected by my surveillance/AWACS and then launched from my B-3 Vulcan bombers, and then accelerated away to reach their target in little time at all.

The enemy air fleet inexplicably turned back. Again, this was totally against Spartan character. Sensing a trap, Air Marshal Messilenius had three dozen radar drones deployed to follow the retreating Spartan planes. This would surely lead the Kreynorians to one of the Spartans' "secret bases."

Sat-17, one of the Empire's three Constantinius Mk. VI defense satellite deployed above Spartan airspace, detected two missiles launched from Spartan territory. Sat-17 opened up with laser bursts within 12 seconds of the launch. Within three seconds, both missiles had had their fuel tanks vaporized. The resultant explosions detonated both missiles.

Within seconds, clouds of radiations spread over the Spartan landscape. Kreynorian HQs were blaring with radiation alarms. Fortunately, Pale Rider Arms NBC protection suits were standard throughout the Imperial Kreynoria Army. Nevertheless, the Kreynorian troops quickly made their way to whatever shelter was available.

Generals Bryennius and Lascaris were soon in communication.

Fellas can't you just have a simple conventional war? No mega drones, transformers, etc. Dig some trenches and hurl masses of troops at each other across no man's land under a hail of machine gun fire, then flank each other and phosporous grenade the crap out of each other. Bickering doesn't win a battle, win it with wits, win it with your mind not inventive toys of war.

OOC: I believe that you are reffering to the thing between Yelm and Layarteb a few months ago, which both parties admitted to was wanking bigtime (but damned fun according to all parties involved, myself included). Still, two missiles are harder to detect than 2,000 missiles, so its kinda logical that the missiles could have passed without detection.

IC: Spartan men had not gone far, only a few miles. They were ready for battle. Kreynorians couldn't sit in the radiation forever. Sooner or later, they would march right into my prepared troops, or they would flee into Andrehervian territory. Eventually, if they did sit in the radiation heap, they would all be dead.

It was a sight to behold. The Spartans hadn't demolished any of their fixed defenses after their hasty retreat. The bunkers and structures that hadn't been destroyed or badly damaged by the battle were quickly occupied by Kreynorians. The Spartans truly knew nothing of war. On Lascaris' front, the 1st infantry, having little mechanization, dug in and prepared to defend. On Bryennius' side, the 7th infantry prepared to defend. All other units were preparing for an attack.

OOC: IF the battle went the way you said, 8 out of every 10 bunker's, AA's, ect.'s remenants would look like "Hell on Earth", plus the surviving shelters were facing towards Andrehervian territory, so it wouldn't be as usefull as you say.

IC: Part of the plan was suggested by Menelaus, like say, the dirty bombs. Most however, was cleverly suggested by the new General Patroclos. Patroclos suggested that after leaving the battlefield, fire an enormous fleet of cruise missiles to blow the Kreynorians away, or at least cut down on their numbers. Menelaus took it into consideration, but slightly modified it. He said to fire 2 missiles, as it would be harder to detect, but instead replace the warheads with dirty bombs because the radiation would be lasting. Patroclos knew it would gain Sparta international disrespect, but decided it best not to argue.

The hell was their problem out there? Shouted one general at the other. The men picked up the heavy equippment and brought it back to the trucks like they were told before leaving! Why couldn't the demolition crew do their job. The two were talking about the battle they had fought only hours ago.

The damn men were supposed to destroy our remaining defences before leaving, but no, they would guarentee their lives, rather then those of their own families. All they needed to do was each person set off a simple bomb in a bunker and go. One bunker per person!

Generals Menelaus and Patroclos were furious at this. They both knew the disadvantage of giving the enemy free shelter. It was time.

That was the biggest Godmod yet. OUT OF 96 CRUISE MISSILES, YOU SHOOT DOWN 73. You yourself in person have told me cruise missiles are extremely hard to shoot down, and you hit 73!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Because... Kreynorians just spent all their SAMs on our diversionary attack. Now we fire while they were weak. Patroclos radioed the base.

All 68 remaining cruise missiles were fired. No more remained in that land base, and that was a fairly large missile station, to now be out of amunition. Kreynorians couldn't stop many now. And using their full speedwws, the Kreynorians would have no more than 120 seconds between the time the missiles were fired and struck their targets. First, they would have to track this last fleet, then move their satelites into position. They would then open fire and hope that their lasers and few remaining SAMs to destroy what the few can.

OOC: No, I'm not really 'low on SAMs'

IC: Another wave of missiles was fast approaching. This time, the satellites and SAMs were in perfect position to fire upon this new wave. Additionally, several hundred mobile Avenger and Patriot SAM units had been brought up to reinforce the Ulya SAMs.

The withdrawal was complete (see Succession of Blood thread, page 2). The Spartan campaign was abortive, but the Spartans had been badly mauled and taught not to mess with the Kreynorian empire. The total campaign casualties, including the latter missile waves, numbered 20,138.
