OOC: This is SESOU v2.0... the orginal is closed to any new applicants
Snake Eaters Special Operations Unit (SESOU) most elite section is offering training to those who believe they are strong enough to become soliders whose very existence is offically denied by their own government, yet who have time and time again prevented the outbreak of true war, or been the lynchpin in the survival of The Shadowy State of Snake Eaters. The units name is not going to be revealed, as they are a top-secret black-operations unit. You will not know your instructors names or their faces, but they will train you to be the best you can be.
All members of the unit have mastered various paratrooper techniques, including low and high altitude diving skills, and are thoroughly acquainted with silent invasion techniques from under and over water. Moreover, they have an incredible amount of knowledge concerning wilderness survival techniques for both forest, jungle, desert, and mountainous areas; are well trained in shadow and tailing techniques, pyrotechnic and munitions handling, radio and satellite communications, the seizing and reusing of enemy weapons and items, the electronic collection information and surveillance, various martial arts, emergency medical operations, world linguistics, and various other unreleased special skills.
Due to the rigorous demands, both mental and physical, placed upon members of this particular unit, members are never chosen as civilians, but are drafted instead from a myriad of armed forces recruits and self-nominees from various special forces.
Candidates must successfully pass exams in three different areas, these being: Physical, Psychological, and Intelligence.

- The ability to control concious and subconcious behaviors
- ESP expectancy score within predefined limits
- Marksmanship skills persistent under varying environmental circumstances
- The ability to make firm decisions in times of emergency, imminent personal injury, or haste
Intelligence Exam
- The ability to read, write, communicate, and quickly grasp foreign languages
- Knowledge of the location of the majority of nations within the world, and their global relation
- A firm grasp of current world events and their impacts

Those candidates who pass the initial course are then led to take the training courses, which consists of:

OOC: Due to the success of the first thread of this, I've decided to open a new thread of it. Please TG me first and confirm that you are allowed to take part.
OOC: I'd TG ya, but NS is kinda...not working, shall we say.
I'm in Kay's region, and she thinks that this is a good chance to test out my race.
Do I have your permission to enroll a cadet?
I too TG'd to enroll a soldier. Awaiting a reply.

IC: Your man is accepted. Please send him via any method of transport to Snake City International, on the planet Snake Eater Prime in the Cobrian system.
Confirmed. He is en route to Snake Eater Prime via shuttle and should arrive briefly.

The unmarked car sat at Snake Eater International, lights off, engines running. They had a photo of the man they were picking up and taking to the training centre. His shuttle was due in any moment... now, all they could do was wait. Each of the two men sat at the ready. Trained by this unit, they had become ruthless. One of them carried an HK 53 assualt rifle at his side, beneath the windowframe of the car door. The other had a Browning HP pistol in a shoulder holster, just in case. The driver glanced at his watch,"Five minutes, maybe less."
As Blane had come on a private shuttle, he was able to carry his weapons on board. He had packed relatively light (which was rare for him): a small pack for his personal items, his two pistols - Viper R-90s - in their holesters, and a R-12 Stryker assault rifle strapped around body.
As the plane came to a hault, Blane threw his back around his back and looked for any loose items. Seeing that he had everything, Blane walked down the stairs of the airplane, gripping his rifle in one hand and his lighter in the other. He walked across the airport to the otherside where a row of taxis were lined up. He stood there, sticking out like a soar thumb, looking around to see if anyone had come to meet him...

Walking around with a loaded weapon in Snake Eaters is asking for trouble. The driver cursed, and got out the car, the pistol hidden discreetly under his suit jacket. He walked right up the new guy, and locked his arm in place, taking the rifle, whispering in his ear,"You bloody fool! Do you realise how stupid that was! Private shuttle or no, weapons in public is a huge no-no!"
He steered the new guy to the car, and shoved him in the back seat, stripping him of his weapons before hand. The other man looked over the back of the seat, and smiled,"Welcome to Snake Eaters. Try anything, and you'll be dead before you can run fifty yards. Now, sit tight, it's an hour to the training area."

"Well aren't you guys certainly hospitable. No really, I don't need a suite in the Plaza hotel - I am fine... Jesus," Blane said quite sarcastically as he looked out the window. "Could you guys be anymore anal?"
After a few minutes of silence between them, Blane piped up again, "So... any soldiers on their way?"
Name: Alam'davarda'oschiva
Age: 15
Race: Roharanhan
Height: 5'10" at full height, 3'00" at shoulder
Build: Lean and muscular
Distinguishing Features: Three stripe-marks on left cheek
Previous Military Record: Graduated Academy at age 7 with Honors, made Captain at age 12, decorated 3 times (Valor in Combat, First Unit to breach enemy defenses, Directly Saved Civilian Lives)
Relevant Skills: Stealth, Speed, and Infiltration. She is fluent in Common, Drow, and Roharan. She was top of her class in hand-to-hand combat, and third of twenty-nine with ranged weapons.
OOC:
Right, so, the Roharanhan. Think big cats.
THey only generally live to be forty, sixty is a good long life for them. Her fifteen translates to almost thirty human years.
In names, the first part (before the first apostrophe) is the family name, the middle part is the individual name, and the last is the clan she comes from.
There are two main divisions of this race: The High Bred and Low Bred, and in each it ranges in degrees of order, which is not something I'm here to explain. Davarda can later.
In any event, spots are high bred, stripes are low bred. The finer your spots or stripes are, the better born you were. So if you've got broad, coarse stripes, you're basically a garbage man or a soldier. If you have fine spots, you're admin.
Davarda has medium spots, except for the stripes on her face.
Oh, final note...their eyes are weird. She has blue eyes with gold markings. THat's not included as distinguishing because it's not all that uncommon among her kind.
Okay, that's the basics. ^_^

The driver motioned with his left hand, and the passenger showed Blane his HK53. It was loaded, and cocked,"Where you're going, that sort of talk will get the shit kicked out of you. Take my advice, and cut it out right now. Or you'll be going home, with no memories of this incident ever having taken place"

"I shall be honest with you. I don't know how many are coming. Two are confirmed, including yourself. Maybe more will apply, I don't know"
The two men opened their nanocommuncation links:
OOC: Blane CANNOT hear this

M2 -- If the Colonel doesn't beat it out of him at some stage, he'll fail the course

Ina Administrators had arranged everything. While their own Space Technology was being developed, it would take several more generations. Not only had Kaymiril come farther faster, she had ties with Snake Eaters. Since Kaymiril and Ina had been allied since beyond Ina historical memory, they'd merely sent their operative through the Kaymirilian system.
Using her back legs, Alam'davarda'oschiva walked from the landing port, looking at the map. She stayed in the shadows so that if anyone saw her, they never could quite be sure that they HAD. At least, that was the plan.
She carried with her a few changes of clothing, ID, and the necessary letters and forms that had been handed to her. She had one knife that was tucked safely into a pouch in her bag. She hadn't been told of needing any ranged weapons, so she hadn't brought any. Besides, the Civilian Snake Eaters wouldn't appreciate it, as she had learned from a Drow friend.
Who had been a friend of her mother.
And her grandfather before her.
And her great-grandmother before him...
Ah hell. It had been a good ten generations, and the Drow only had a couple of children of her own.
She began looking for the vehicle she was supposed to find, ears rotating in search of any sounds. Her nose was taking in so many new smells it wasn't funny. She just hoped she'd do well in this academy...thing.

She attracted a certain amount of attention, due to being the first of her race to ever enter Snake Eaters. But, the people had become more used to stranger things, so she was actually treated no different. Drow and Humans were milling around the building, and one human approached her. He was a fair height, about five foot eight, with dark blond hair. He'd come to greet her especially,"Welcome to Snake Eaters, Alam'davarda'oschiva of the Roharanhan. You'll have to forgive me for speaking Basic, what you might call Common, but having never encountered anyone of your race before, I don't speak Roharan"
OOC: Correct terms courtesy of Kaymiril.

OOC: Well, any correct Snake Eaters terms come courtesy of her, too. ^_^ ~ and she uses it a lot, but that is MY smiley. (although I'm considering stealing "of DOOM!" from her. ^_^)
IC:
Davarda's ears came forward as she looked at this man. A man of rank, obviously, from the way he carried himself. She gave the slight bow common to Kaymiril -- the one guesture these two would have in common.
"Ila'rohamin..." she paused before she made a guess at his rank. The human system was so much different than her own. "...Colonel? I am glad to be my nation's first representative to your people, and good health to you and to your children."
OOC:
Right, more explanations.
Ila'rohamin...translates to "health for/of good battle"...close enough to Kaymiril's "grea'asanto lu' verve dro." She can smell that he's healthy, and she knows that he's got kids (that knowledge also given by Kaymiril).

OOC: Lol. Ah well, I use the ^_^ smiley as well now. However, I haven't stolen 'of DOOM!!!' yet. And I cleared the information given, it's important to understand this mans situation.
IC: He smiled,"You seem to know much about me, just by smelling. If you would come with me, and I'll take you to the training area"
"Our sense of smell is probably our most useful."
Her tail curled and uncurled a couple of times, a guesture that he may or may not pick up that would tell him to lead on.
Davarda wondered what this was supposed to be like. She'd heard only that the examination process was strenuous to even the strongest.
That was why they chose her, though. She was supposed to be able to handle all of this.
"How many cadets have enrolled so far, Sir?"
Snake Eaters
18-10-2005, 22:39
Cougar shrugged,"Two, including yourself. One of them is on his way there now, and you are, of course, with me"
"Very few, then."
Davarda shook slightly, limbering her muscles back up from the long space flight. White ivory-esque patches become visible at the base of her neck, and at her knuckles. It might be guessed that there are other such patches all over her.
Snake Eaters
18-10-2005, 23:13
Cougar's eyes flicked over, checking our the muscle structure of this new recruit. The file was impressive, no doubt... but still, it remained to be seen as to what she could actually do.
"If you'll follow me, we'll head to the centre"
Davarda didn't know how to tell the man she would follow him, in his own language, without sounding flippiant or apathetic.
She also didn't figure he would be familiar with Roharanhan tail-speak.
So she settled for what might be acceptable.
"I will follow."

He nodded, and led her to another unmarked car. Another person, a women with short black hair, sat in the driver's seat. The engine was running, the lights were off. As they approached, the lights flickered into life, revealing the car to be a Mercedes Benz. Black in colour, and running on hydrogen fuel cells. Snake Eater auto-technology at it's best. He opened the back door for her, and held it there until she got in.
Once she was in, he closed the door, walked round to the passenger side, and sat down, buckling up and motioning to the driver,"Let's go"
OOC: Sorry it took so long to reply, Jolt has been playing me up recently. DMG, I am still waiting on a response from you.
The car ride had become quiet and dull for Blane. He had been staring out the window at the passing buildings for a long time before he spoke, "So... is there anything you want to tell me abuot the training or are you just going to leave me in the dark?"
As Blane waited for a response he flicked open his lighter and began playing with the small fire...

By now, they'd left the city limits, and were travelling closer to the mountains to the North. The two men, however, had not relaxed in the slightest. It was if they lived on a knife edge and couldn't stray from it. The driver looked in his rear view mirror at Blane,"The training? Tell me, what's the toughest thing you've ever done, in your life?"

Davarda wondered for a moment how she was supposed to get into this thing. Roharhan legs were not made like human legs. Eventually, she gave up and jumped in, sitting like she normally did ((if you've ever seen a cat or dog sit (which I'm sure you have), like that)).

He raised an eyebrow for a moment, then smiled, thinking it was how his pet cat would do it, before reminding himself that this was a living person and not a pet.
OCC: Look for my civil war thread on the International Incidents forum. You are invited.
OOC: Kaymiril linked me to look...I'm afraid that IC Ina doesn't know you very well...at all, really. I'd join, she said it looks to be fun. I tagged it for viewing purposes...but I don't see how I can join.

The men looked at each other, and shrugged. The rest of the trip was in silence, and it was dark by the time they arrived. The rain slashed through the air, and the man waiting at the door was dripping wet, his trenchcoat keeping the large amount of his body dry,"Alright boys, I'll take it from here"
They nodded, getting Blane's stuff out,"So, you're the DMG boy?"
"Exactly"
She unsheathed her claws a little way, scratching at the side of her face.
"About how much further is it?"
Snake Eaters
22-10-2005, 19:08
She unsheathed her claws a little way, scratching at the side of her face.
"About how much further is it?"
"Another half hour... tell me about your race"
"We have three hearts...one is no longer functional, something like your appendix, and the second is really almost redundant. It makes us harder to kill. Our ancestors, at least among the High Bred -- the spotted members of my race -- were desert creatures, so that half of the species has a third eyelid, to protect against sand storms. We're also very much warlike, so since we couldn't develop armor some thousands of years ago, we developed something else."
From the base of her neck oozed a thick whitish liquid...which she let cover the base of her skull. "It solidifies in a matter of minutes, strong as bone."
She let it retreat while it was still liquid. "Still...our claws are sometimes strong enough to rip right through it." She shrugged.
"We've only had a relative peace since the Marils came to power in their own land."
The men looked at each other, and shrugged. The rest of the trip was in silence, and it was dark by the time they arrived. "Well I am from the Dominion," said Blane as he stood in front of the trenchcoated man, "but I am no boy..."

The man swept his hood back, revealing his elven ears. Eldar in origin,"To me, you are but a child."

"An interesting natural defence... very interesting indeed. It suits you well. Why only a relative peace?"
"And I am no man"
The man swept his hood back, revealing his elven ears. Eldar in origin,"To me, you are but a child."
"I don't care what you think of me..." Blane said.
ooc: I never said you were a man. Yes I posted that Blane stood in front of the 'man' but to then have your character say that he wasn't a man, is a bit odd.

"We have a large population, but most of Ina is desert. Growing clans fight with rival clans for their resources, particularly water. However, before the time of the Marils, it is said, our people would fight until all but a few had been wiped out, then rebuild and start again."

"I don't judge you. No, I am here to welcome you to the SESOU training centre... some have called it home. Some have called it Hell Camp. You must decide for yourself"
The stranger made as if to turn away,"My name is Eldard. You may call me that. Please, follow me"

"I will call it neither," Blane said as he followed Eldard inside.

"Naturally, Colonel. Your planet is beautiful...your people do not know the meaning of need, or want. Only of desire, if that."

"I will call it neither," Blane said as he followed Eldard inside.
OOC: Look, alright, Eldrad is far older than he seems. Being Eldar, he doesn't age as much. He is, in fact, six hundred. So, to him, Blane is a mere child
IC: "A wise choice... tell me, Blane, why are you here? Was it because you were ordered? Or did you choose? Or did you volunteer?"

"You are incorrect. Whilst what you say is largely true, there are those of us who know the meaning of need. They truly need companionship, people to love and care for them. They don't desire it... they actively need it"

IC: "A wise choice... tell me, Blane, why are you here? Was it because you were ordered? Or did you choose? Or did you volunteer?"
ooc: I understand that he is old. I thought your OOC was replying to my OOC about not calling Eldrad a man... nevermind.
"I am here because I want to be."
"You are incorrect. Whilst what you say is largely true, there are those of us who know the meaning of need. They truly need companionship, people to love and care for them. They don't desire it... they actively need it"
"Your people have water not only to drink but in which to clean themselves. They have shelter that covers them from the storms. They have food to eat, not once a week, not once a day, but three times a day or more. I've watched children starve to death when game couldn't be found...and I've watched the family of the succumbed eat their fallen. Companionship? We have that. Safety is found in numbers. But I doubt that one of your people could see the need to eat his own sibling or child, even should their deaths be of natural causes."
Snake Eaters
22-10-2005, 21:13
Cougar turned in his seat,"Listen to me. Whatever hardships you have suffered, I can sympathise. I truly can. We don't deserve this life we have been given, nor do you. No one deserves to be hungry, or thirsty, or have to eat their own siblings to survive. I have seen children starve to death as well, simply because they couldn't be fed or given water, and been forced to do nothing because to do so would have done so much damage to the mission. I've seen people shot and killed simply because they had different beliefs... the world is cruel. Crueller to some than others, but still, it is the way life goes. I have lost siblings, children of my own... yes, many do not know hardship. But you are speaking to a man who does."

Eldrad smiled,"Good. One who wishes to be here will do better than one who is ordered"

Blane noticed that was the first semi-kind thing anyone had said to him since he landed on Snake Eaters Prime. He continued to follow Eldrad to whereever he was leading Blane.
OOC: Don't talk bollocks. They've been kind, but at the same time, he's been an idoit. Carrying a loaded weapon in full view of the public was a bad start.
IC: Eldrad led Blane to a dormitory. It was spartan at best, but it would serve,"You'll be staying here until further notice. Anyone in your class will join you shortly"
"Alright," Blane said as he entered the room. He chose the closest bed and lay down, drifting off to sleep...

Blane awoke some time later and quickly showered before dressing and heading out of his room. It was still raining outside as he walked down the hallway looking for a kitchen. His stomach grumbled as he walked down a flight of stairs...
He would eventually find a canteen that was serving meals to every cadet on the base. It appeared that there was upwards of two hundred. Out of millions of soliders, they had been chosen to come here. Hand-picked. It showed how hard it was to get into this unit. They all looked bedraggled, tired, but pleased with themselves.
ONly five or so would complete the course. The others would go back to their units with no memories of this place.
Blane entered the canteen and walked up the counter, "So... what you got to eat. I am famished and could go for a nice big steak..."

Your man is accepted. PLease send him via your own transportation method to Snake City International, on Snake Eater Prime. If he cannot get here, transport can be provided.
If your man is deemed a problem at any time during the course, and becomes so much so that he is ejected, please be aware that his memory of his time spent within the unit will be wiped. The process is very safe to use on humans, and has a 0.001% chance of recall.
Maldaathi
25-10-2005, 16:13
Thank you for accepting our man into your academy. Though due to technological impairment we request that you send a transport to pick him up from Kadena Summit Airforce Base.
Snake Eaters
25-10-2005, 16:26
Agreed.
*Two hours later*
"Kadena Summit Control, this is Snake Eater transport Python-Six, requesting landing clearance"
Maldaathi
25-10-2005, 16:39
The Air Tower Controller snapped to attention as he heard a voice over the com.
"Python-Six this is Kadena Summit Control. You are clear for landing. Direct the craft for Area-3C for touchdown. Please use the landing pad as the runway is occupied by a C33-Hercules Plane. Control Out."
The operator flicked the switch of the comm to off and picked up the phone to the CO of the Base.
"Sir the Snake Eaters transport craft has arrived have Colonel Lukav waiting at Area-3C. Have the colonel meet them at the landing pad."
"Roger that control."
----Myskada Lukav's Barracks----
Myskada checked his attire, a all black sneaking suit, straightning himself out. He let out a sigh as he muttered quietly to himself.
"This will be fun...."
He bent down and slung his dufflebag which contained the weapons, ammo and the battle attire he was going to need at the camp.
"Time to saddle up." he said as he walked out of the barracks and to the landing area.
Snake Eaters
25-10-2005, 16:54
"Roger that, Control," said the pilot, flicking off the communcations array, and bringing the LightningSword dropship into land on the pad. They would have preferred a runway for this, but it seemed as if it was taken. The dropship was capable of either, in any case.
It came through the clouds, it's black hull reflecting almost no light, and it's engines making little to no noise, just a faint hum of matter-antimatter reactions within the craft. Hydrogen fuel cells and matter-antimatter reactions... as compared to fossil fuels and pollution. Ah, sometimes technology was godsend.
The retractable landing gear, three 'feet', extended from the belly of the craft, and the hydralic jacks worked to distribute the weight equally across the pad. The engines stayed hot, and the ramp at the back slid down to the ground. It waited there.
"How do you want it? Rare, well done?"
"Rare, please," said Blane. "And a side of potatoes with a beer. Thanks."
Snake Eaters
25-10-2005, 22:43
"Rare, please," said Blane. "And a side of potatoes with a beer. Thanks."
He got the steak and potatoes easily enough, and the beer was handed to him as he walked out the end. There was a policy in SESOU: You could do what you wanted, so long as you turned up the next day ready to give it your all.
Blane searched the room for an empty table before sitting down to enjoy his meal. He downed the beer quickly enough and began into his steak.

26-10-2005, 01:32
Myskada watched as the transport touched down onto the Landing Pad. Myskada turned to the soldier standing next to him.
"Well looks like this is it..."
They slapped a high-five.
"Later Lukav!"
Myskaa turned back to his friend.
"You know your the only person who can call me by my last name."
The soldier just grinned and threw the dufflebag into the arms of Myskada.
"Later bro." Lukav said with a grin before turning around and jogging off to the ramp the drop ship had deployed.
---On The Landing Pad---
Myskada trudged up the ramp pulling his bag behind him.
"Where's my welcoming party?"
Snake Eaters
26-10-2005, 11:16
"You expect a welcoming party? Man, you are deluded. This is a transport ship, we were just passing by and got redirected. Carrying the latest shipments. Anyway, theres a seat up here, come and sit down"
It was true. The LightningSword, normally used for troops, was now filled with crates of all shapes and sizes, filling up the avliable space. The only spare chair was that of weapons operator, which almost never manned, as the neural A.I took care of that these days. Still, it could be overridden if needed, which was why the post still existed.
Maldaathi
26-10-2005, 11:21
The Colonel raised his eyebrow in amusement.
"Sorry if I appeared rude. And thanks for picking me up."
He re slung the bag over his shoulder and followed the man up the available seat.
"So... how long will this trip take?"
Snake Eaters
26-10-2005, 11:23
"Depends on how fast we go, if we run into warp storms and the like... all the stuff like that"
Maldaathi
26-10-2005, 11:26
Warp Storms!?
"Uhm what are the chances of running into a... warp storm.. was it?" He asked as he threw the bag onto his other shoulder.
This place sure does look nice...
Snake Eaters
26-10-2005, 17:08
"The route we're taking, very little, if any. If we took you by the Denerios belt, it would be a different story. But's thats neither here nor there"
Maldaathi
26-10-2005, 17:11
Lukav nodded solemnly as he sat down in the mildy comfortable chair and dumping the bag carefully onto the hard floor.
"Great! So what do we do to pass time here?" Myskada asked as he shuffled in his seat.
Snake Eaters
26-10-2005, 17:50
"Just a second"
The craft lifted smoothly off the pad, and rose up through the atmosphere until it was clear into space. The pilot adjusted the course heading and settings first, and then nodded to his co-pilot, who smiled and tapped a few keys,"Depends. What do you do to pass the time on a car journey?"
Maldaathi
26-10-2005, 17:57
Myskada turned to the pilot.
"Well... we are usually briefed on the mission. But since this supposedly Black Ops I doubt you'd be allowed to brief me before hand. Am I correct?"
Snake Eaters
26-10-2005, 18:48
"Man, I don't even know where you're going. All I was told was to pick you up, and get you to Snake International. After that, I don't have a clue"
Maldaathi
27-10-2005, 01:11
Myskada sighed.
"First time on a space ship... Any problems if I take m guns out and cleaned them?"
He reached down for his dufflebag but didn't open the zip.
Snake Eaters
27-10-2005, 10:08
"So long as you don't load them at any time, it's fine. We normally have a platoon of men in the back doing this sort of thing."
Maldaathi
27-10-2005, 11:58
"Yeah no problem."
Myskada unzipped his bag and got out his large rifle, the FAMAS SBX, and removed the clip taped to the side and dropped it into his bag.
"What type of weapons do you guys have in Snake Eater Prime?" Lukav asked as he pulled a long barrel cleaner out of a side pocket of the bag and shoved it into the barrel.
I have lost siblings, children of my own... yes, many do not know hardship. But you are speaking to a man who does."
OOC: I'm SOOO sorry. Sunday and Monday I couldn't post, and then when I booted up Tuesday my computer like...blew up at me. It's been in the shop, and I only just got it back and finished setting it up. I'll go back through and reread everything.
IC:
Davarda's ears flick back and forth for a moment, between anger and self-control.
"I meant no disrespect. I was speaking in generalities, not in specifics."
Snake Eaters
29-10-2005, 12:01
<Snip>
"You mean in Snake Eaters itself. Pulse weapons make up the bulk of the forces. Derived from Tau technology. But, when they were designed so that with the addition of only a few parts they can fire 5.56 or 7.62 rounds. The design for the rifle was based on the G36 orginally, then it altered to a compression version of the Tau rifle. The light machine gun is based on the L86, which has been edited for pulse fire or 5.56 beltfeed. Same goes for the carbine, which in this case is derived from a P-90, and still maintains the same basic design.
Hostage rescue and people like that use MP5A3's, still using the 9mm Luger round. Also, the standard sidearm for the Snake Eater military is a 10mm Delta Elite, a reworking of the M1911A1. But, from what I can gather, the unit you are going to doesn't use pulse weaponry at all, only bullets. M4's, G3's, HK53's, and more besides."
<snip>
OOC: No worries about it. I know what that sort of thing is like.
IC: He nodded,"I know that now. Just be a little more careful in future... where we are going, everyone has lost someone dear to them at some stage in their life. Most of them parents, lovers, siblings, children. Or all of the above."
Maldaathi
29-10-2005, 17:35
Lukav nodded.
"Excellent." He murmured as he replaced the long barrel cleaner with a smaller swab like stick and began to dis-assemble his FAMAS SBX.
Lukav removed the various parts surrounding the slide lock mechanism and dipped the swab into a cleaning solution before wiping the sides of the stick along the sides of the cylinder.
"How do you clean your weapons in Snake Eater Prime?"
Snake Eaters
29-10-2005, 17:43
"Same way you do, essentially."
Maldaathi
29-10-2005, 17:53
Myskada rolled his eyes and chuckled.
"Years ahead of us in technology but still cleaning guns the 'modern' way."
He peered into the small cylinder, which was now clean, and then he slotted the lock into its place of the frame of the weapon.
Snake Eaters
29-10-2005, 18:11
"What works, works for a reason"
A few hours later, the ship came coasting into Snake International Airport, and the ramp lowered itself,"Hope you do well at whatever you're here to go. Best to keep your weapons in the bag, and someone will meet in you in the main building"
Maldaathi
29-10-2005, 19:29
OOC: Yay plane ride over!
IC: Lukav quickly finished polishing his gun and shoved it into his bag.
"Thanks for the ride guys, your company wasn't half bad." He said jokingly with a wink.
He swung the black bag back over his shoulder and trudged down the ramp into his new home country... or planet for the next few months... maybe years. Lukav wasn't briefed on how long he was there for but as the Emperor's son he wouldn't be here for a extremely long period. Myskada half walked-half jogged to the largest building he could see.
Kaymiril
31-10-2005, 16:06
OOC: SE is out until Friday. So, those of you there interact or something, and those of you not there (sorry, Ina) just sit in the car and wait.
OOC: No worries about it. I know what that sort of thing is like.
IC: He nodded,"I know that now. Just be a little more careful in future... where we are going, everyone has lost someone dear to them at some stage in their life. Most of them parents, lovers, siblings, children. Or all of the above."
Davarda sat forward, merely waiting for the ride to be over.
Snake Eaters
05-11-2005, 00:07
It was over quite quickly, and Cougar opened the door for her, before showing her around,"Now, feel free to do what you will for the next day or so. Kick back, relax... just do what you feel like. Be careful though, especially in the forests."
She jumped out and stood.
"I'll be fine, I think."
Snake Eaters
05-11-2005, 00:15
"I'm sure you will. I've got some stuff to sort, so I'll see you tomorrow, when we begin. Good luck"
And with that, he was gone. The dorm was right in front of her, the door slightly ajar.
She headed in. Looking around, she saw no subterranean places to sleep, so she took the next best thing...an unoccupied top bunk. Jumping up, and putting her stuff on the bed, she looked at it.
Her race slept curled up, so there was more than enough room on the bed.
Dropping down, she then decided to head out to see if anyone else was around.
It smelled like it, but you never knew.
Snake Eaters
05-11-2005, 00:53
OOC: You'd do best to interact with DMG now. He's already there.
ooc: Blane be eating in the mess.
She headed down to where she smelled people and food.
Grabbing some (mainly meat or meat-based), she sat down, looking for someone who might be willing to talk.
OOC:
Well, originally I was gonna ask if I could join your Civ War rp anyway, but I just realized that I currently can't rip myself away from RL long enough to even be able to promise one post a day, so it's kinda pointless.
In any event...
BUMP
ooc: lol, Blane isn't going to invite you over...
OOC: Davarda doesn't know anyone to talk to, and from the depiction given of the surroundings, there are going to be so many different scents to pick out that she's gonna be all confuzzed. Let's try a compromise.
IC:
Davarda had chosen a seat ((Kay, if you're reading that, is that right?)) not far from someone that smelled different from the others in this room...likely a foreigner, as well.
The chair was cramped and uncomfortable...what was this preoccupation with platforms? By whatever gods might exist, it was INSANE.
Snake Eaters
06-11-2005, 10:29
"You look uncomfortable"
"We don't sit in chairs. We aren't really made for it."
Snake Eaters
06-11-2005, 22:01
The man sat down next to her, rubbing his hand across the greying stubble on his chin,"I can see that... you're the first of your kind we've ever had here"
Fur on top of head and face losing color. This man is either old, or has seen a lot, or both. Then again, there's not really much we know about humans. But what I do know, is that this man is not a cadet.
"I'm not surprised...it is not uncommon for us to visit other nations that we have known since before we developed a writing system...but across space...that is rare."
Her blue gold-specked eyes narrowed a touch.
"Excuse me, sir...but are you one of the instructors?"
Snake Eaters
07-11-2005, 18:47
The man grinned,"That I am. You're sharp... I'm guessing things like body movements, posture, scent, and other things like that give me away?"
Blane watched and listened to a nearby table where an usual figure and an older man sat.
The man grinned,"That I am. You're sharp... I'm guessing things like body movements, posture, scent, and other things like that give me away?"
"Eyes, age, and scent. You smell like you're from here...the first one since the Colonel."
OOC:
I just realized the irony.
You had a Col. Cougar riding with a creature that's essentially a leopard.
I feel a combination of stupid and amused.
Snake Eaters
07-11-2005, 22:39
The older man smiled at this,"I'm not that old, you know. This is a natural thing... my family have always gone grey early."
His demenour may have been gruff, but he was a kind-hearted man. Major Matthew Konig hadn't become the sniper for Alpha Team by being kind-hearted though. In battle, he was a ruthless sniper, and would take outrageous risks, though not on par with Colonel Cougar. He was easily capable of hitting targets at 1500 metres with a semi-automatic, which with his favoured weapon was the extent of his range. He could fire up to 2100 metres with a bolt action, but a semi-automatic was his battlefield choice.
A claw slid out of the first finger on her left hand, and with it she spaered a chunk of meat. Swallowing it whole, she turned back to this instructor that was speaking with her.
"You look like an elder...but no...."
She scrutinized him for a few moments more. "No...you have a female living with you...not much of an age difference...maybe only months...and a human youngling, of the age to start being trouble. No cadet has family with them here. Is the female another instructor? I doubt the youngling is."
Snake Eaters
09-11-2005, 16:39
"My wife is another instructor. She is currently with our child. I came to get something to eat*Looks at Blane*Why not come and join us."
"Why not..." said Blane as he stood up from his table and walked over.
Sitting down next to the man he said, "So I gather from your conversation you are an instructor here?"
Davarda looked at the new human.
Foreigner. Attitude problem.
Snake Eaters
12-11-2005, 16:37
"Yes, I am an instructor... when I am here, that is. All instructors are fully fledged members of the unit."
"What can we expect from this course?"
The question was directed to the instructor.
Snake Eaters
13-11-2005, 15:24
OOC: I'm sorry it is taking so long to reply at times. I really am.
IC: Konig leant back in his chair,"Even if you're adapted to extreme stress, be it mental or physical, this course will test your limits. At least, that's the aim. I will be honest, having never had a member of your species here before, it's hard to say how it would work on you personally. For humans, it's one of the toughest and most stringent selection processes in the known galaxy. For Drow, it's almost impossible... only one has ever applied, and passed the course, and he was lucky in many respects."
He looked at both of them,"It's no disgrace to have to drop out of this course... in an average intake of 100, only seven will make it through to continutation training. But, having said that, this isn't an average class. I doubt I'll be teaching you very much, but there you go."
OOC: Yay plane ride over!
IC: Lukav quickly finished polishing his gun and shoved it into his bag.
"Thanks for the ride guys, your company wasn't half bad." He said jokingly with a wink.

He was spotted immediatley, as he stood out from the rest of the crowd. As soon as he entered the building, two men dressed in casual clothing came up alongside him and steered him towards a red unmarked car that was running outside the terminal building,"Get in. No questions"

Davarda swallowed what she had in her mouth as her hears came forward.
"A Drow has gone through this course? Can I know his name, or is it classified?"

"Until further notice, I'm afriad that information is classified. Government stupidity really. You might not have known this before, but I'll tell you now. If you fail this course, your memory is wiped and you get returned to your country courtesy of the SOAR (Special Operations Aviation Regiement) out of Sand Island. The process is harmless, but completely destroys the memories that you accumulated here. It helps protect us, you see. We're the top-secret wetworks force."
She nods.
"If I fail, I'd like to request that a Kaymirilian Healer be the one to wipe my memory. No offense, Sir, but you know little of our anatomy...what won't affect us, and what will kill us...the Mith'iar'iin know more about our physiology than we do."

He thought about this for a moment,"I'll have to check with the Colonel, but I'm sure it can be arranged."
"So," Blane said as he spoke for the first time in a while, "Any idea when this is getting started?"

"Oh, soon enough."
Davarda looked around at the other two.
"I was told we had roughly twenty-four hours. Presumably that's the span of a normal day on this planet."

"Give or take a few seconds," said Konig, finishing up what he was eating,"I suggest you two get to know each other as soon as you can."
Davarda had eaten what she'd taken (bones and all, case may be), but in her country it was considered poor manners to leave the ivir'a'nandi before someone of higher rank did.
So she waited patiently. This instructor would either stay, and whe might learn something of this course before she was thrust in as to water, or he would go, and she could explore.
Or, she thought, looking at the other cadet, she could get to know him, like it was suggested she do.

Koing was basically gone by the time all this thinking was done. The whole atmosphere in the canteen was one of warm camraderie... she could do what she wished, to within a certain degree.
OOC: I hope Kaymiril explained the situation, but I'm leaving NS for a time. If I don't manage to get myself killed, I'll be back in April. But Kaymiril has my nation until further notice. She can RP here if she likes...
IC:
Davarda left, as this other human didn't seem to want to talk, and went outside to wander around.
ooc: this thing is pretty dead considering I am the only remaining entrant.

ooc: this thing is pretty dead considering I am the only remaining entrant.
OOC: You want to know the real reason this thread is basically dead? Really? I'll tell you. YOU! I liked/like Ina, I really did/do, she had/has alot of potential to go far on NS. But, even after I tried to get you two to interact, you didn't bother. Now, if you want to get insulted by this, be my guest, because honestly, DMG, I don't care. It's nothing personal
IN RP terms, no one can deny that I've put much more thought into this type of training. People NS over claim,"Oh yes, I have the best military in the whole thing, I will pwn you, n00b!"... but no-one, and I mean no-one, has ever written something like this, something that pushes human beings to their limits and beyond without using artifical enhancement or gene therapy or something else along those lines. You act as if you're so cool that you don't need anyone's help to pass or fail this course. Ina and you could have worked together... her character had strengths you couldn't hope to match, whilst you may have had strengths she could have utilised to get you both through the course.
However, this thread is not dead just yet, do you understand me?! It may have suffered from a lack of interest, but surely you can talk to others you know, introduce them to it. That's the way this sort of thing works. Kaymiril has control over Ina's char, and trust me when I say that to annoy Kaymiril is tantamount to a death sentence as far as this is concerned. So, I implore you, come down off your plinth and actually realise that you cannot go it alone, that you need someone's help to pull through. The point of this thread was never to see who was best at military RP's, but to see who could work well together in a group that they were in by choice.

OOC:
SE dear...you're much nicer about it than me.

It seems that both you and Kaymiril are taking my simple comment personally which it was never intended to be. My only point was that only a couple of people had joined after a few weeks.
As for my character... he is what he is. I made his personality a certain way, it isn't the way I am, but I am not changing his personality. There are people who exist like him and I am RPing him like that. He isn't very social until he makes a connection with someone and it is rare that he does that....
