OOC:Hello all, you may know may main nation as Red Tide2. This is the nation I will be using for FT roleplays. This is an introduction RP. I do NOT, repeat, NOT want anybody to start shooting, this is primarily a first contact, and then establishment of diplomatic relations. Thank You...

IC:Teratian System...

The system had 6 planets and an asteroid belt, the 2 outer planets were all gas giants, a few with rings, and lots of moons. Then came the asteroid, rich with a vareity of asteroids and stuff, the 1st planet from the sun was covered in lava, only the gravitational pull of the planet kept the lava from drifting into space. The second and third planets were barren deserts, with very little, yet fierce, atmosphere. However, it was the fourth planet that was the most interesting, it had blue oceans and green lands, much like the planet Earth, and it was on this planet where a race was preparing to take its first steps into interstellar space.

A massive shipyard hovered in high orbit Teratia 3, it represented the best technologie the race of the planet had to offer, but by most interstellar races standards, it was primitive.

Kor'sari, the captain of the Corvette Teratia made looked over her checklist one last time. She was of medium build and stood a standard 5 feet, 9 inches. She wore the green captain uniform of the newly created Teratian Space Navy. Her long purple hair reached down to her neck. The corvette was equipped with a fully working FTL drive, or so the engineers who built the thing said. The Teratians had already had bases, mostly mining ones, in space. But this, this was the first TRUE space ship the Teratians had built, powered by its Fusion Reactors. It was meant as a explorer vessel... little did she know it would not start exploring immediatly after launch as intended.

The radio crackled, "This is the scafold center, Teratia you are cleared for take off."

Kor'sari turned to her navigation officer, "Increase speed to three-zero-zero until we are clear of the scaffold."

"Yes mam."

The Corvette slowly moved forward, sliding out of the shipyard.

A small box like object, no bigger then a modern mini-bus hung in orbit of one of the gas giants, a few aerials protruded from the surface. It was an automated probe, an inquisitive expedition team had flung it into orbit of the gas giant as they past. Designed to monitor temperatures and other mundane facts about the solar system, it had failed to pick up the relativity weak radio signals until, by chance, it picked up the launch instructions for the Corvette.

The latent programming in the probes computer core sparked to life and it dispatched a message to the nearest Wintrees ship.

Space is infinitely large, and to most beyond comprehension, it is merely another ocean, another way of travel, an objective to reach, a distance to traverse. And to some, it is their duty to watch over those who venture into the depths of the infinite black.

By no means did the Imperial Republic monitor every single system and every single race that had yet to break the FTL barrier, that would take far too much resources and far too much manpower, But the Imperial Republic, although Elvish and often looked down upon, still thought it had a duty to those it could expend resources on.

And now, System P32-Alpha-Hash-4, or The Teratian System, as its inhabitants named it, were about to break the third barrier space had to offer, it had already broken through the atmosphere, and it had established itself, but it still had not broken Light Speed. But this day was so near.

Of Course, a small survey ship had been dispatched to watch the momentous occasion, in the depths of space numerous races take this step often, but it is not everyday that a race that has been studied by the forces of light does so.

The Survey ship continued its vigil, once they took this test, they would be ready, Then it would be up to the diplomats and politicians to keep them on the right track.
