Yep. I've done it. Consider the bandwagon joined. It wasn't quite as much fun as I thought it would be.

Have you ever wondered why I RP exactly the why I do? Why my government seems so hypocritical at times? What my national anthem is? What I'm like in Real Life?

I RP the way I do because, well that's how I am. My government is pretty damn hypocritical, but then again, so are most. However, Malkyeri culture is pretty much based off American culture, so it's based on the idea of saying one thing and then doing something completely different. It works for Malkyer, I'll say that much. To be honest, I've never really thought about a national anthem for Malkyer. If I had to make something up right now, though, it'd probably be called something like "Land of the Setting Sun."

As for me in real life, well, I'm the kid in school who's goofy enough that people make fun of me, but big enough that they don't do it to my face. :p Nah, I'm pretty much an average sixteen year-old.

Malkyer views Halberdgardia as, quite frankly, one of the greatest nations in the world, in terms of both honor and sheer guts. Outnumbered and outgunned, you stood by us in our civil war even after the Khailfah al Musilmeen, once our greatest ally, abandoned us (it was for RL issues I know, but that's the view of the general populace IC). After the fighting ended, there were some protests in loyalist cities because the government didn't immediately open formal relations with Halberdgardia.

I know Malkyer isn't exactly a fiery explosion of excitement, but I'm sure someone somewhere has a question for me.

What is your army equipped with/what tactics does it use? Brute force? Small surgical strikes? Both?

The Royal Army and Royal Marines are generally equipped similar to the US Army, following the SWEAT (Small, Well-Equipped And Trained) model.

Generally, I try to go for small, surgical strikes by special forces (mainly SAS), followed by a tactically superior force of armor and mechanized infantry, to try and overwhelm the enemy as quickly as possible. Following that, more infantry will move in as an occupation force.

Of course, that strategy doesn't always work, so I try to modify it depending on who I'm fighting and my knowledge of their past wars.

where does the name come from?

It's an intentional misspelling of the name of the destroyed Kingdom of Malkier in Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time Books.

Seriously, though...wow. That's quite an accolade. We are incredibly grateful for it. Anyways, the Civil War was a great RP; I was a bit disappointed it died so suddenly, but how can you blame the participants for pulling out for RL reasons? Anyways, we can set up that diplomatic RP you wanted to do sometime soon; I think my SecState will be available relatively soon, pending any updates about the Portshire Convention from Truitt. I look forward to cementing our relations.

Malkyer doesn't have a primary region, per se, but is rather divided into four Viceroyalties and several crown colonies. Theoretically, all the Viceroyalties are independent of one another (much like the Dominions of the British Empire), but are in reality just large administrative districts. Well, snap. Sorry about that.

The primary religion is Christianity, with the predominant denominations being Lutheran in North America, Anglican in Australia and the Cape, and Catholicism in Central America. There are also large communities of Jews and Muslims, as well as minorities of Hindus, Buddhists, etc.

That being said, freedom of religion is guaranteed, and the monarchy doesn't really back any denomination (the Royal Family is historically Lutheran, but has been acting less and less religious on the throne). Malkyer's citizens are generally pretty tolerant of all religions, or lack thereof.

What would be your nations response to a serious breakdown in law and order, ie, widespread looting and rioting? (random question I know, but, what the hell, why not ask it!)

Do you mean in Malkyer itself, in another nation, or just in general (i.e. world anarchy)?

In Malkyer, if all law and order disappeared, there would be complete and utter chaos for about a week or two, by which time organized militias would form, with the goals of either 1) looting in a more efficient manner, and then imposing their will on those below them, or 2) restoring law and order, at first in their immediate community, but then on a larger scale if possible.

If it were a less extreme situation, the military would probably be called out to supress the riots and restore order. Then, depending on the government leadership and the influence of certain people in the military (the Royal Armed Forces are a bit of a dichotomy; there are very honorable and just people, and people who are simply greedy bastards), the government would either effect change to accede to the people's demands, or begin to crush dissent, slowly becoming a totalitarian state.

Well, my view of the RL USSR is that, communistic idealism aside, it was one of the bloodiest, most oppressive regimes ever to force itself on a group of people.

I think a cold war would be great. Plus, it would motivate me to finally organize my army and figure out an order of battle. I'm fairly busy this week and this weekend, but we could start planning it out if you want.
