What do you want from a storefront?

I know, just another boring storefront thread, right? Wrong.

I know that none of us can find all they want on the storefronts, so I wanted a place where we could all say what we want from a storefront, and hopefully, someone will see this and make a storefront for us.

This isn't a gripe/complain/moan list, just a list of what could be improved.

I just want to know what people want.

I know I want lots of American equipment, and it seems there isn't a single storefront that has all the guns I want, especially Colt weapons, and I have a really long list of stuff I could put, but that would be boring. So I'll just put the Colt weapons I want to see.

M16A4 Assault Rifle
M4A1 Carbine
M203 Grenade Launcher
AR15A2 Government Carbine
AR15A3 Tactical Carbine
CAR-15 Assault Rifle
M4 Commando
Colt Automatic Rifle
Colt Accurized Rifle
9mm Submachine Gun (model 635, I think)
Law Enforcement Carbine

The Waldenburg storefront, from a lack of things to do will try to put up anything listed here, that people have requested. For Stienbrech we have already added 4 or 5 of the Colts they ask for.

Check Asgarnieu's Military Armanent Company and DMG Military Industries. I think they have the most of the weapons you want.

Plus most people with storefronts that have guns have designed better versions than those listed.

I just want people to say that they want _____ so that others can come and see that and think, "Hmm, maybe I could do that and I could get money?" I know that's what you're doing, but it would be nice to see other people wanting things they can't find.

Check Asgarnieu's Military Armanent Company and DMG Military Industries. I think they have the most of the weapons you want.
OK, I'll do that.

OK, I'll look in a minute.

Some more stuff (since no one else seems to want to do this):

Packages for various environments (i.e. forest, desert, arctic, various others)

If anyone has got lots of American stuff (I mean LOTS of it...) than tell me please.

OOC: The point raised earlier is correct. American equipment is absolute crap, especially in NS terms. Any RL equipment is horribly inadequate for NS warfare. EVERYTHING you'll be facing is more heavily armed than anything IRL. Everything is also likely to be more advanced than RL because of the massive R&D or military budgets.

Some storefronts, notably mine (Portland Iron Works (http://forums2.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=404832), Avalon Aerospace Corporation (http://forums2.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=365142), and Incorporated Ordnance Company (http://forums2.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=394656)) can create custom designs that fit into what you want. Several of my PIW designs in particular are custom designs that customers have asked for.

If a storefront doesn't have what you're looking for, all you have to do is ask. Just like restaurants sometimes cook a meal for you that isn't on their menu, storefronts sometimes can create a product they normally don't have for you upon request.

While this is true, some people still like to use RL products for a vareity of reasons... the main one being that most Storefronts that create their own products become PMT, rather than MT.

While this is true, some people still like to use RL products for a vareity of reasons... the main one being that most Storefronts that create their own products become PMT, rather than MT.Well the problem with that is any Tom Dick and Harryzonia can build whatever RL equipment they wish, as hideously inadequate as it can be for NS purposes, because there are no player copyrights on RL equipment.

For instance, if I wanted to, I could have Majeristan building a Ticonderoga-class cruiser or a Type 23 destroyer. However, I decided not to because 1) The aforementioned inadequacies, 2) Majeristan is being RP'd as being poor in resources needed to build military equipment, and 3) I wanted a nation I RP'd with to spend money at my favourite storefronts besides Sarzonia's.

For the record, I've built F/A 22s for a customer at Avalon, but there are many reasons I don't offer RL equipment on my storefronts. And you'll find that I often build designs that are based on RL equipment.

OOC: While I agree with Sarzonia's comments on the relative inadequacy of American weaponry versus most weaponry on NS, I do have a few comments in defense of it. There are many younger nations who are looking to buy the cheapest military equipment available with their limited defense budget, to get the most bang for their buck, so to speak. While a larger, more established nation will undoubtedly have the defense budget to support more advanced, better-quality NS equipment (thus, they will have the equipment), many smaller nations won't go up against larger nations with better equipment (if they're smart); they'll go up against nations roughly their own size, most of which buy Cold War-era Soviet equipment because it's even cheaper than American arms.

Case in point: my preference for American arms saved my ass in the first war I ever fought. A handful of F-117As and a B-2 got away with leveling the largest airport (and main air base in wartime) in the enemy country because he was using outdated Soviet equipment. While we larger nations might discount American arms, they will still be useful to smaller countries building up their fledgling militaries.

Steinbrech, if you're looking for American arms, try the Roman Republican Military Storefront (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=412411). It's where I made all the earliest purchases for my own military, when I first started out.

[OOC: I may actually field a version the Arleigh Burke later, based on a large version of the Japanese version , which is a larger version than the US one. When I signed up I thought that I was fairly well in power if I could build 100 Arleigh Burkes. Then one day I looked at Praetonia's shipyards and realized that most people had frigates that could take out my destroyers. :p ]

My question is: Why on earth would you want a shopfront full of weapons?

Yes, YOU might like these things or they might be useful to you, but what about everyone else? World peace. Remember that: world peace and love.

Yep there Non-existant, and it would be hard to make. I could probably do one. I thought about making a storefront that carters for everyone. Your one stop shop for goodies what ever they may be. Need infantry weapons- well what type? Need Big Ass Navy? Sure what package you want? Want space ships that can't be killed by anything and are gods. Sure we got that. If we don't got it, its not our fault- you never asked for it. A person can dream.

Precisely what I DONT want to see, tbh, are storefronts that sell American / Russian / $reallife_nation tech. As no one on NS designed this, anyone can build it themselves. The same goes for ammo - its extremely easy to make yourself. What I want from a storefront is:

- Originality
- Detailed, realistic descriptions
- A comprehensive listing of designs (ie. I dont want a naval storefront that only sells 2 different classes)
- Some "unique selling point" that I cant get from another storefront or by making things myself.
