A Conflict of Powers, and of Blood.(FT, Closed. ATTN: Chron)

The tiny rift in space spread, as the gates to the hidden realm where the Empire sat for it's protection was revealed, and the largest single fleet of ships ever amassed for an invasion by the Empire came out. It was the entire Taledonian fleet, which meant the Praetorian Guards would have to work double time to keep order if problems occured.

Fifty eight Imperial Class Battle Cruisers, and 40 Protectorate Class Battle Cruisers; the flagships of the Empire. Three hundred and fourty three Typhoon Class Destroyers, the main fighting force of the Empire; followed by the thousand-some Victory Class Frigates; and the hundred and fifteen Support Class Frigates. The eighty Star Launcher Class Carriers; and finally the thirty Mobile Angel Cannons.

The eldest and most advanced ship within the Empire, the Defiance, stood proud and mighty at the front of the armada. The crew inside making the final closing transmissions home before the wormhole was closed. The crew also felt a sense of pride, as they knew that if the worst should come, they would die with their beloved Emperor.

Emperor Alexander Kellerman, a Consul in the Republic, stood in the bright golden armor he wore in ceremonial events, the sword of Taledon hanging at his side; starring into space through the window of the bridge. He gave a sigh.

Give the order for the jump.

It only took seconds after the vast number of ships disappeared in blurrs of light, as they re-appeared in similar blurrs in the heart of the enemy. It was time for them to pay, and it was a high debt. Yes, Chronosia Prime would burn, and the Daemon Emperor, along with his kin, would suffer a fate worse than death, as it was a fact that they would welcome that.

Two Thousand ships of the Imperium had went forth to face the alien hordes on distant battlefields; and yet still; the mainstay of Imperial fleets stayed in maintenance and preparation around Chronosia Prime. Amongst the gleaming docks and defense arrays of Chronosia Secundus, the vast forge moon; and amongst the equally impressive arrays, shields and docking facilities of Chronosia Prime; a full 4000 ships remained; each under the command of a Primarch. The 2nd Fleet, under Remiel; the 4th under Cabot and the 5th under Gabriel had joined, along with the 6th under the command of Archon. Radu and Hakar were on the fringe; far from the Imperial Centre; and far from aiding their brothers.

The Ecstacy of Slaanesh hung in the void; and upon detection of the enemy, Marcus had been teleported to its bridge; many screens showing the approaching threat, and the faces of his Primarchs in glorious council of war.

Lance arrays powered up; mighty warp cannons and missle launchers readied; and opened fire against the Xeno filth of Taledonia; and this was simply the multiple defense platforms and stations; as the fleet plunged headfirst into battle. Swiftdeath fighters and Doomfire bombers roaring forth from Fighter bays in stations and ships; staining the void with eerie warp spawned light. The entire system seemed primed now for glorious war.

"Ah, Kellerman; you come here, I trust, to die in good faith?"

A reply, Sir?

No, send no reply. If the Chronosians wish to insult me, let them, as words mean nothing yet.

The blue bubbles around the vessels appeared and dissappeared as the Chronosian weaponry smashed into them. The fleet would take some beatings, but it would soon die down as the enemy became fewer.

Pouring from the Taledonian side this time, came the seemingly endless streams of TF-20 fighters; known for their incredible speed, powerful blasters and deadly missiles. The accompaning TB-25 Bombers, who shared a similar speed with their fighter counterparts, but carried large energy explosives and far more missiles. And the endless hordes of Taledonian DREDs, the drone kamikazes made of cheap ressources in order to produce thousands at a time to launch against the enemy.

But small craft weren't the only things to fill the space between the two sides. The thousands of energy cannons took aim and fired their mighty balls of blue energy, each with the strenght to puncture a crater into a planets surface. The turbo lasers flew forwards, accompagnied by the energy blasters that served as anti-fighter weapons, and the millions of energy torpedoes that went menacingly towards the enemy fleet.

From the Protectorate Class Battle Cruisers, the same came, but more, as these vessels had the technology of almost all the Republic's nations. Kazeci ZAT cannons and other weaponary, Covenant fuel rod cannons and Needler torpedoes, and various other foreign weaponry to Taledonia.

The great crackling spheres erupted around the Chronosian fleet as the weapons fire hit them; likewise unphased by their enemies paltry assaults; fighters fell in droves between the two awesome fleets; but sheer volume made it more of a challenge. Thousands of fighters crowded the void; hurtling towards the enemy; pelting fighters and larger ships with blasts of lance fire and the countless barrages of missles. Long range fusion, gravitational and cluster missles hurtled from the Chronosian mainstay, towards the Taledonian's; as mines poured forth.

The defences continued to roar; bellowing their anger forth; as a Titan Legion readied for deployment on Secundus. Marcus let a smirk cross his twisted face; as he gave the order to advance; two thousand ships advancing upon the Taledonians; while the others circled about the moon; now unseen; a deadly threat to Taledonian from above, below; or from the side...

Kellerman watched the battle unfold from the Defiance. His Admirals and Generals busily giving orders. The fleet stayed out of range of the planets, as to not be caught between the enemy fleet and their ground defenses, but orbital stations would still be able to hit them, not that it would make much of a difference.

"Let them come, let them come closer and closer, and fall" Alexander thought to himself.

If the simulations had been accurate, then the plan would work, however, if the Chronosians continued to use a direct, brute force approach, then it would be a Pyrrhic victory. But for now, the lightshow would continue until somebody made the next move, or one side was destroyed.

OOC: You know, given all the fighter dog fights, it might be nice to see at least some losses. Hell, even I was losing fighters :P Not to mention the heavy barrage with very powerful weapons that I hurled at your fleet...

Honestly; I just want to see you bleed ;)

ooc: You could do what I do, make the battle personal by talking about the death of one fighter and state that it happened repeatedly.

Or you could hold off untill I am free to beat him into submission ;)

He watched the onslaught through one of the cockpit window of his Stinger(TF-20). It was a pretty sight, all the death and destruction that came from it. Colonel Morris had always loved war, and had been taking part in them since he was sixteen.

His ship rocked as two of his squad companions were torn from the his sides by enemy fire. Pushing the engines into full speed, he shot straight for the group of enemy fighters, blasters blazing and missiles flying fast and accurate through the zone between the two.

His squad of twenty had been mostly destroyed, leaving him with only around six accompaning Stingers; but no matter, he knew he would eventually die, why not take out as many as the rat bastards as possible first?

Colonel, this is Captain Emon, I've got about thirteen other bombers with me, mind giving us an escort?

Morris smiled as he took in the words, and then spoke back into his comm link.

Sure thing, Emon, hang tight.

Alright boys, regroup and head for these co-ordinates. We gotta give some shithawks an escort so the little boys don't pick 'em off with stones!

The group of remaining Stingers closed up their formation, and turned around, heading towards their new mission.

(OOC: Happy now, I posted some fighter losses, but in a prettied up way.)

The Chronosian fleet opened fire; unleashing countless torpedoes and long range missles, along with devestating volleys of lance fire and warp cannon discharge; the vopid was alight with energy and hate; palpable hate; as the defences of Chronosia Secundus opened fire in the general direction of the Taledonians; the vast gleaming metallic moon disgorging missles from its lore-encrusted surface; along with scathing blasts from the orbital defences.

Marcus chuckled softly. "I have offered your Republic peace; surrender now; and oyu will be spared. Continue; and I shall crush you to a man...You have come here in vain; you have come here to die; filth." He let that cruel mockery of laughter forth again.

"Surrender now; relent, have peace; or fall forever; and burn eternally in warp fire. You have heard my offer; now make your choice"

And the other half of the fleet slid from around the moon; opening fire to flank the Taledonians; placing them between a rock and a hard place.

Incoming Chronosian vessels in the rear, my Lord.

Right, give the order to the fleet, have them make the jump.

The fleet engaged it's warp drives, the technology gained from the ISF Devastator years ago. The vessels disappeared from sight, leaving all the incoming enemy fire to fly against their own vessels.

Re-appearing on the other side of the Chronosian fleet that was behind them, the Taledonian ships once again started their bombardment, unleashing hell with every blast of energy.

I have heard your terms, and you have heard mine, but we have still not officially agreed on anything, Alexander's words were cold and un-emotional, simply stating fact, As long as we have not come to an official agreement, then we will continue to fight, and you shall suffer through every moment of it.

We can end this war, Marcus. Call off your fleets and those of your allies, and never again return to the Republic, and we shall have peace, fail to do so, and we shall crush you.

FTLi fields now sprung into operation; and as the fleet moved, it was still too slow to avoid the fire of the Taledonian vessels; several ships fell; plunging into death and destruction in great balls of flame; tongues of it licking the eternal parchment of the night. Yet now the Chronosian's would not be denied; both fleets whirled like struck serpents, opening fire with a barrage of every conceivable weapon against the Taledonian fleet.

You shall stand down; power down your vessels and we shall have our parley; continue to fire and we shall rend you to atoms, worms. We want to end this conflict; and you may yet retain your pitiful lives The transmission paused "OPEN FIRE AGAIN! MORE! SEND THEM TO HELL!" Marcus bellowed.

If you do not comply; we shall destroy you; and then, all you hold dear. The Republic and all its members shall fall in ashes; and all shall know that Chaos is triumphant. Do not make me make an example of you; as I shall the Kazeci vermin

The armada took on quite a beating, loosing a couple destroyers and more than half a dozen frigates. But the death being dished out of the ships continued until suddenly they halted. The small craft that buzzed around busily stopped their attacks unless defending themselves, and a single message rang throught space.

Very well, Draken. We have stopped our attack, now stop yours. Our weapons and shields will remain powered, however, as in these turbulent times we cannot be too careful.

The Imperium ceased firing; while its weapons and shields remained hot and ready; unyielding in the face of the enemy. Marcus chuckled softly; all weapons trained on the Taledonian ships. "Now; first you shall offer me a reasonable offer for my cesation of hostilities. And then, I shall tell you if it is good enough" Laughter echoed; not only his, but countless others; marines, Guardsmen, beings...

"State your terms, Taledonian."

28-09-2005, 03:15
You shall call off your attacks on any Republican nations or our allies immeadiatly, you shall also call off all your allies from attacking us and our allies. In return, you will be granted one of our worlds that is rich in ressources as it has not been fully colonised yet.

Alexander paused from the transmission, looking over reports of the fleet, and of the evacuation of Talnak. Have the weapons ready to fire on my order, if these idiots try anything then we shall send them to whatever hell they crawled out of. The officer infront of him nodded and walked off to give the orders.

Those, are my terms demon. Take it or leave it. Take it, and we can have peace, leave it, and we shall see how your dark gods stand up to the power of the four true Gods.
Chronosia
28-09-2005, 03:20
True Gods? Please; you know nothing of faith. The only reason I truly bother with you, Kellerman, is you have a sense of honor. Even in the face of adversity; the death of an Empress; you still fight on. However, our allies are beyond our control; as they are not infact our allies. We merely assisted Neo Zeta in this guignol; I dare say that this entire...Tragedy is his vengence upon you. Alas, I digress. Three Taledonian Worlds. That is our price; complete with current occupants. We shall never touch the Republic, not even the braying ass that sits with you at your table of Equals.

Marcus paused softly, contemplating.

Fail to agree and this fleet shall seem as nothing as to what we unleash. We will find your hole eventually; and as you cower in it; sending out little strike forces to nibble at us; we shall take from you. Allies, friends; lovers; we shall shatter their nations and break their spirits; and you, you shall be last. If you wish peace with me; so be it. You may have it for my price. But do not seek to trifle with me; I have no patience for mortal procrastination

Alex froze in terror at the words spoken by his adversary. In his blind rage, over-confidence and high ego, he had forgotten to watch his back for the one weakness he had; emotions. Never has he lost a battle against anyone or anything, except to his emotions. And now, the enemy had hit him hard in a place he had disregarded for a moment, his love, the future Empress. Tho he would never let it show, he started to sweat a bit, but then regained his composure, knowing full well that the Chronosians would know nothing of this and would never reach Taledon.

Ha, you should check your own words before accusing. Faith is what you make of it, believe what you want, and stick to it, that is faith. I also laugh at your threats, you have neither the ressources nor the manpower to send a fleet larger, if not even smaller, than this one on an invasion; what with all your other campaigns. Your black crusade still wages, and many of your fleets are taken up in other areas. We are not fools that can be manipulated with hollow threats and words.

One world, shall be given, with all the inhabitants that wish to leave gone. That is the offer, tho, if you were not so kept up with the now and actually thought of the later, you would know that it could yield greater rewards. In fact, had you chosen to stay out of this war all together, and let the Zetans try to get their revenge themselves, you could have had even more yet; but no, you chose the path that may bring you the end of the Republic, but that has cost you countless other treasures.

The Zetans may not be your allies, but the swarm of Azaha sure is, as well as the Abh. Call them off, and leave the Zetans to do their own work, then you shall have your payment.

Three worlds; or all worlds in ashes. Consider the price, and consider the consequences. Your words cannot harm me Kellerman; you are a gant, nibbling at my hide; you are a worm, perturbing my sight. You live only because I allow it, now; you shall accept my simple terms. Three worlds; and I shall stand down, this conflict shall weaken and fail; and you shall have learned your lessons.

If you prefer, I could take one world from every nation of the Republic; if you wish I could set tithes and reparations, fines upon you; tribute to be paid before me. Do not rouse my anger less my benevolence end and I find the need to enforce harsh yokes and terms upon you.
Taledonia
28-09-2005, 23:26
You are in no position to be making threats of that magnitude, Marcus. The Zetans want peace, and are in the process of making peace with us, so to will the Abh if the Zetans go. If this occurs, the Republic has even more ships at it's disposal to launch against you, and with our list of allies growing, and your list of allies diminishing, you shall soon be outnumbered.

He continued to look over reports, pausing briefly to give orders to his commanders or overlook a moniter.

Your forces are too spread out now, Master of Chaos. If I wanted to, I could destroy your fleet here, but along with it mine. Many Republican nations have yet to fight, and could easily move in to finish the job and destroy your worlds.

But, unlike you, I will not sit here and make empty threats of what we can both do to each other. Instead, I shall act like a reasonable man and continue to speak of peace.

I shall let you keep Kosse, and ceed to you one other planet. That is the offer, that is the price. Choose wisely before I decide against my generosity.

Don't talk down to me as though I am your lesser, child. You have come to my home system; you see my fleets; my defences. These are not idle threats to make you piss yourself; these are acts I shall carry out. Two Worlds, and Kosse; or nothing. You want this war to end, a cease to your peoples suffering; you will have your peace with me. Here. Now. Then you can go and cower with the rest of your bastard race; cowards fleeing from doom with trickery and deceit; because you lack the honor to fight face to face.

I spit upon you and your generous offers of nothing. I say once more; two worlds and Kosse; or I shall not cease. Your Republic is impotent; it withers; it dies. Even in peace it shall be dismembered. You were surprised; taken completely at our mercy. I would have burned your empire to ashes had you not sought to flee with a cowards fervor. As we speak, 1000 ships are on their way back from Kosse; at my whim, you shall be crushed between the hammer and the anvil; and you shall have no fleet to fight with any longer. I would rather not destroy you; but your cowardice and incessant prattle bore me; you are half the warrior that your father was. Half the man, half the being. I pity him if he can see you now.
Taledonia
29-09-2005, 03:37
You shame your own bloodline, amusing. You speak truth in your words, but also think yourself higher than the Empire and the Republic, which is false. Many other threats pop-up all the time, so, I shall submit this once. Two planets, plus Kosse. The two planets shall be evacuated, and left behind for you to claim. They are Talnak and Grim, both in the same system.

Now, you have your trophies. Call off your forces, and those of your allies, and leave us to our doings. It is inevitable that we shall conflict again, and next time you shall not have the priviledge of catching us off guard, so be wary.

Alexander grimaced at the attack on his ego, he always hated when people compared him to his father. He turned, waiting for the reply to come, and readying to give the order to leave.

Very well, son of the True Enemy; the Worthy enemy. Your blood is obviously diluted by your fathers second choice of wife. The Seers spoke true when they advised re-directing the path. Of all the glorious Kellerman's I could have fought and crushed; I am thwarted in the search for my adversary by an ovum Marcus shook his head; he enjoyed tormenting and taunting this one; he thrived on it. Fear and pain and death, all sated his thirst.

Now that I have my prize, you can leave my system. You can go back to your hole and fester; however I do recommend you address the other nations yourselves; I'm afraid, as of late, my time is sacrosanct. That, and I can't see so many intertwined warriors pulling themselves out just yet. So much blood remains ripe to be spilled; but I shall not attack you, Taledonian. You are spared my wrath; and your Republic shall be left, in tatters. But I tell you this; one foul look, one condescending word from that guttersnipe you associate with; and I shall crush him; promises be damned.

Ignoring the last comment by the demon, Alexander gave the order. In a glorious light of white, the Taledonian armada left the system and headed back home.

It was a sad day for the Empire, and a great defeat for the Kellermans.
