Hakunan Jahuziz sorted through a bunch of papers, deciding what was important and what was given to him because his employees didn't know where else to go. He made seperate piles with notes on them saying which department that particular paper belonged to. He sipped the Cantu juice, a highly caffinated and very sweet fruit juice popular in Pananab. It had been a long day since another oil field was discovered, causing a bunch of turmoil, getting land claims and rights to drill. On top of that, he had a bunch of paperwork from Pudu to have his business officialized and getting barges to get the oil that was discovered off of the coast.
He felt a slight wobble in his head and his desk shook a bit, or so it seemed. He figured it was the Cantu juice and continued working.

Red Tide2-held oil fields
As the TechCom mercenaries did their patrols, a group of ten men snuck by, rushing into the rainforest the oil fields bordered. Individuals snuck by the mercenaries into the rainforest and rejoined the main group. The total number of people on this trail would eventually come up to a hundred, maybe two, but since the Red Tide2 gaurds started to murder escapees, their numbers were declining steadily. Stowe soldiers would not diminish completely, but they would drop from this area anyways. The men had left their wives and children to fight for them, to reclaim their country from forces that did not belong. Little did they know, they were about to help that process tenfold by a disaster that would cause hundreds of deaths.

Pananab
A might earthquake shook teh ground. Hakunan Jahuziz ducked under his desk, as did many of his employees.

Villages all over Pananab ran for cover. House crumbled, buildings fell, even entire villages were destroyed by the mighty earthquake. Nobody expected it, not even scientists. Pananab is not near any plate borders, so why would there be an earthquake here?

The men and women in the rainforest ducked as debri flew by their heads, birds flew around, trees fell, and animals scattered. They looked around and assessed the damaged. Three dead, nineteen wounded. It was a long way to the next village...

A weapon maybe?

OOC: No, it's just an Earthquake that will be researched for years to come.

The reason is actually quite simple: Pananab isn't near any plates, but it is right in the middle of a group of them. One to the north, South, SE, E, and west. The plates keep moving and the earthquake simply moves through Pananab.

It's a natural disaster and the people of Pananab and its occupiers need a bit of help.

You seem like a landlocked country...Jaredcohenia is an island with mainly a navy. We shall send soldiers to help aid your nation through transport choppers. It may take a while...we're taking off from the most southern location in your continent.

We are also sending 10 million dollars in aid.

The Emperor was not pleased. In all one-hundred and seven men were killed, and many more wounded, in the earthquake. He had dispatched a company to replace them, but that was not the only problem this quake offered him. As he, nor any of his staff, knew of any plate borders under the region, this earthquake was not normal. He also knew the Pananabians who escaped the annexation were using tunnels to hide in. This could mean one of two things to him, either they had, through some not-forseen twechnological genius caused the quake, or their tunnels were in ruins, and they were forced to the surface. Either way, now was the time to strike.

Five brigades had been dispatched over the northern border of Pudite Pananab, each conataining 5,000 men, seventy-five GT-6 tanks, one-hundred Helix anti-armour helicopters, one hundred Havoc attack helicopters, and three of the Special Ops teams that had been conducting patrols of the area weeks ago. These five brigades would split off, each taking a different route through the area, before converging at the site that had been pointed out to them by the satalite observers a few days ago. They would search the ruins construct a base, and proving their hold over this rebel nation. From there the searches would continue...

OOC: We are going to search the ruins, although not find you, or many of you, and then make a base over it, with you underneath...That will be interesting.

A rose behind the thorn, the silver lining within the cloud. Once again you have fallen prey to another obscured attack from some other foe, and have left a prize greater than your loss. Or is it? However, we will provide aid, if needed. If not, then that is all right.

OOC: Pudu-Let's have anouther thread for the Hunt for Stowes. Just note he's out of the country right now^^
IC:
The people of Pananab are welcoming the help of Jenrak. Hakunin Jahuziz is putting funds to help rebuild the destroyed cities. Should the Pudites refuse the rebuilding aid, Pananab Petroleum will take the funds and all of it will go to rebuilding efforts.
