Today, in highly dubious circumstances, Tom Nilats, son of former dictator General Nilats, was elected Conductor of the Council of Communes, that oversees the 1,000 communes that makes up the state of Communist Likon.
Heading the Spartacist Faction, Nilat's party won 501 of the seats in the Council. His new program includes greater centralisation of government, restriction of 'counter-revolutionary thought and expression', and military build-up.
These principles, that seem contrary to the Marxist tradition of Communist Likon have already received support from the Senate, in which the Spartacists hold the majority of 251 seats.
The Peoples Court has set up an investigation into the election after claims of corruption, after the Spartacist faction went from no seats, to a clear majority in all modes of government in just one year.

We cut now to the maiden speech of recently promoted, by himself, General Tom Nilats in the Council of Communes.

'Comrades, we must protect the revolution. It is for this that i am noe increasing the powers of the newly created NKVD, to crush counter-revolutionary ideas. It is for this that i am putting a greater emphasis on the military.
In the world we live in, it is necessary to protect ourselves from imperialist dogs. This is why i am re-introducing nuclear weapons into Communist Likon.'

In a press-packet released by General Nilats, the furtherment of the military arms of Communist Likon has been detailed. The following has been earmakred for development within the next year.
The construction of 76 ICBM's, and nuclear warheads to arm them.
The production of 700 MRBM's, and warheads
The increase of the standing army from 750,000 to 7.7million.
Construction of an additional 1600 bombers capable of carrying up to 4 nuclear weapons each ontop of conventional weapons.
The construction of 1000 more fighting jets
The development of 3800 more tanks
Construction of 32 nuclear submarines, and an additional 495 non-nuclear submarines.
As well as this program of development, General Nilats is looking for overseas assistance in the modernisation of the military.
Whether these targets will succeed or not is still yet to be foreseen, but it is believed that a lot of development will occur that will force people off their communes and into the cities and industrial sites, what this will mean for the democratic future of Communist Likon is yet to be seen.
In additional news the 7 comrade-citizens elected to lead the investigation into the recent elections for the peoples court have been murdered. Replacements have not been found.
