The following is a press announcement by the Minister of the Armed Forces, General Freder Sentrat. It is occuring in the Ministry of the Armed Forces Building in Celtayoshi. The General has taken his place on the stage next to his podium, behind and to his left is an overhead display. To his right there are numerous people, one of which is General Ryan Greenfield.
The General tapped his microphone twice to gain the attention of the assembled International Press, as a former Combat Infantry he was used to nerves, but this was a bold new plan, bound to either sink or swim, a case of straight in at the deep end. The General knew that this could affirm Celtayoshi's position as a World Superpower, and so his delivery had to be perfect. He was up on stage to announce the formation of a brand new International Peacekeeping Force, spearheaded by the Celtayoshi Army. Its mission would be to act as a neutral Peacekeping disputes where necessary, and offer safe passage through areas deemed dangerous due to rebel fighting. He began to speak in a clear and confident voice, even if he did not feel that way.
"Ladies and Gentlemen, members of the media and gathered diplomats. I am here today on behalf of my nation and its territories to offer the world a new solution to border disputes, or acts of rebel genocide. For too long such problems have been acted out on a grand stage, with claim and counter claim made by both sides, but where is the peacemaker, the man in the middle who can be a fair judge, and a firm enforcer. Today I unveil to you the Celtayoshi International Peacekeeping Force.
This is a force of infantry and attached armament that we, the people of Celtayoshi are willing deploy these troops to any nation who requires its use in order that a neutral third party may uphold the rights of all parties involved, be it internationally or domestically. If you avert your attention to the screen behind me you can see the makeup of this Force. It is essentially an army dedicated to keeping the peace, fit for jungle, plains, or urban environment. Currently it numbers 1million troops, and can be deployed in groups of up to 250,000.
Any nation may request it, but it will remain in the control of Celtayoshi. As terms of its deployment Celtayoshi agrees not to interfere the actual running of the country unless permission is given, and any request to withdraw the troops will be carried out immediately. In return the nation of deployment agrees not to harm or harmper in anyway the operations of this force.
These are not mercenaries, they are troops of one of the finest armies on this earth, however, such deployments are expensive, and so in return we do expect at least a military base, and the extension of some diplomatic ties. Further negotations will be carried out with any interested nations.
