The podium stood slightly elevated in comparison to the room filled with reporters as President Berger walked out and took her place behind it, she cleared her throat and leaned forward towards the large grouping of mircophones, "My fellow Aequatians and people of the world, I come before you to explain our Republic's greatest boost in military expenses.
Since the beginning of our involvement in the war of defence of Automagfreek, we have realized how far behind our naval power is compared to the rest of the world and have decided to step up to the plate and level the playing field with the licensed construction of Aequatian Doujin-class Command Battleships with the permission of Freethinkers Defence Industries.
As well, our other branches will not be neglected as we will be increasing the numbers of our Army's Divisions throughout the country and our protectorates as well as the creation of new Air Force fighter and bomber groups. A new focus will also be placed upon our nation's Marine Corps which will receive en entire fleet of their own vessels for the purposes of amphibious assault and operational support.
As of this moment, our citizens of the Aequatian Civil Labour Corps have begun to gather at the shipyards along the coastline of Aequatius Prime belonging to Henderson Marine Steelwork Inc., Nelson Shipyards Ltd. and especially those of Arrio Heavy Manufacturing Corporation to intitiate the construction of our fleet's first Doujin-class BBCN warships. In all, fifteen vessels are planned with twelve for active duty. Once these are completed, the Aequatian Republic will finally be on par with other modern navies and we will be prepared for future involvements and engagements around the world.
